Transition to the digital environment transforms the schemas of social interaction including the relationship between parents and their children. Many parents who lack digital competence however are called upon to become agents of ‘digital socialization’ for their kids who step into the world of gadgets from an early age.Current study explores parents competence (including, digital); their attitudes towards developing digital competence of their children; their coping strategies in the situations of child addiction to the digital gadgets, computer games and the Internet use; as well as their request to the education system in line with its ubiquitous digitalization. As a research method the authors have chosen the two-stage survey in which 118 participants took part — the parents of elementary school students. The data was analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. As a result the parents were clustered into several groups on the basis of: their digital attitudes (supporters and antagonists) and their level of digital competence (low-medium-high). Further the data was analyzed within each cluster. The study has revealed that the majority of parents report themselves as competent (60%) or highly competent (17%) digital users. Positive relationships were identified between the parents' digital competence level and 1) their digital attitudes — the higher the level of competence — the more positive were the attitudes; 2) parents active participation in their children’s digital skills development and acknowledging children’s agency in the process of digital self-education. The results reflect the range of parents' opinions which must be taken into account when assisting families in the process of child development and socialization.

The purpose of this article is to explore the correlation between Namibian preprimary and Grade 1 parents’ demographic characteristics and print and digital reading practices in home environments. A quasi-experimental descriptive research design wasselected to launch this investigation in the Khomas region. Survey data documented the relationship between parents’ demographic variables and print and digital reading behaviours. The study tested the null-hypothesis (Hₒ: u1 = u2) and non-directional hypothesis (Hₒ: X1 ≠X2). The underlying assumption is that parents home reading practices positively impact children’s early language and literacy development. The findings reveal that there is no significant relationship between age, gender, education, family size, and employmentstatus, with print and digital reading behaviours that influence children’s emergent language and literacy development in home environments. In a Chi-Square test, the null hypothesis was rejected for age, gender, education, family size, and employment status, but retained and positively correlated to marital status, child reading behaviour, and parents’ book, magazine and newspaper reading behaviour. The implication is that when parents buy print materials for home reading purposes and engage their children in pleasurable reading experiences, their children are more likely to be supported at home to influence favourable language and literacy outcomes in school. The study contributes to family literacy literature and highlights the relationship between parents’ reading behaviours and children’s emergent language and literacy development.

In the last two decades the amount of children’s media usage time has increased significantly, which affects their play, learning, interactions and development, particularly as consumers. To date there has been no in depth analysis of the nature of children’s interactions with media and, this has led to the development of the following research questions: Children for the purposes of this article will be defined as between 0-10 years of age, due to the fact that research has shown that children do not fully understand the meaning of adverts; that they can coerce and persuade the viewer to buy something, until around nine years of age. The preconditions for the research are based on sustained trends of the influence of development rates of digital economy, information space in Belarus on dynamics of digital transformation of additional education of children and youth (AECY). Analysis of AECY digital transformation revealed specific properties of didactic singularity of information education environment, network clustering of resources, dynamics of media environment contour, e-technologization of didactics. The established preconditions of stability of AECY digitization as a constant of transfer to regulations predetermined the aim of this work: development, substantiation of methodological concepts of AECY digitization. The research methods included theoretical and empirical analysis, expert appraisals, simulation, forecasting. The results are comprised of development of a set of organizational and network, environmental, instrumental, technological, institutional concepts of scientific methodology of AECY digitization. The obtained results were verified in the project titled “Implementation of Republican methodological cluster as a resource of development of additional education of children and youth” (2017-2020) on the premises of National Center of Artistic Activity of Children and Youth (Minsk) in accordance with the Program of innovations of the Ministry of Education, Belarus. The novelty of the results is in introduction of the following categories into scientific usage of pedagogical science: didactic singularity of information and education environment, structure of media environment contour. The novelty of the results is reflected in authentic intelligent product of scientific and practical significance in the context of Belarus National Strategy of Sustainable Social and Economic Development–2030.

The article discusses the problem of the influence of digital space and the digital environment on the cognitive processes of primary school children and adolescents. The authors cite and theoretically analyze the characteristics of a personality included in digital space. The contradictions in the ideas about the influence of digital space on the personality are noted: on the one hand, digital space can have a negative impact on the formation of cognitive processes, on the other hand, stimulate their development. The authors empirically investigated such parameters as verbal and logical thinking, behavioral features in the digital environment, attention characteristics and strategies for overcoming stressful situations. It was revealed that the respondents of all groups of the sample have developed classification skills rather than the skills of establishing semantic analogies. The results of the study showed that adolescents with high Internet activity choose impulsive, manipulative and aggressive actions as coping strategies, less often they choose such as seeking social support and cautious steps.

Sociocultural transformation of society, its digitalization dictate certain requirements to the system of education. Adaptation of education processes both in kindergartens and universities is related with readiness of teachers for implementation of digital technologies into education process. The significance of their use in education is accompanied by numerous questions regarding elimination of negative influence of digital content on a forming developing person, on their rational and reasonable application at early stages of social and personal development of preschool children. The conceptual field of pedagogy is supplemented by new categories: digital education, digital education environment, digital competence. This article presents results of teachers’ surveying on the issue of readiness to designing information environment and attitude to the digital technologies implemented into education. On the one hand, the teachers highlighted advantages of the applied information technologies: individual education, possibility to master the program by preschool children and to consolidate knowledge and skills in the case of prolonged absence from studies, time saving, mobility and flexibility of education. On the other hand, the teachers mentioned the main drawbacks of the use of digital technologies: possible harm for health of children, inability of full development of speech, communication skills, development of gaming activity. The main problems preventing active use of modern technologies are comprised of low digital competence of university graduates and working teachers; age features of preschool children, which do not allow to study material without assistance by adults; the lack of opportunities of pupil’s parents to actively participate in educational activity of preschool entity.

The progressive development of all activities in society requires determination in the modernization of education. The preschool education system is affected by significant changes in the restructuring of the subject and developmental environment in preschool education. It still needs new natural and accessible solutions of the teachings methods for children. Since the basic and initial concepts are formed in early childhood, it is impossible to ignore this period of human life. One of the most important cornerstones for harmonious development is the forming of logical thinking. Under the influence of the rapid growth of the information technology industry, different software, educational devices, educational and learning toys and online environments are created in order to develop preschooler’s logical operations at the basic level. Implementing such tools will be the first basic stage in the understanding of programming and coding for preschoolers, will help to learn something new and will motivate them. Therefore, work on the development of logical thinking will become not only more interesting but also more accessible and effective. Logical thinking is the basis that develops a childʼs skills of analysis, comparison, finding a way out of problematic situations, as well as the ability to draw clear and consistent conclusions. The article presents the views of Ukrainian and foreign scientists, famous teachers on the development of thinking, logical thinking in preschool children. The main stages of development of thinking of preschoolers from birth to six years, as well as the use of robot devices “Makeblock mTiny”, “Bee-Boot”, and online environment “Code.Org” for the preschoolerʼs logical thinking development, are noticed by the authors. The study of the feasibility of using robot devices in logic development activities in preschool education takes an important place in the article. The results of this research are presented.

Currently, world science is actively conducting research aimed at analyzing the influence of the modern digital environment on motor fitness, physical development and functional capabilities of preschoolers. Despite the available data, the problem under consideration remains poorly understood, especially in relation to preschool children. The aim of the study is to identify the features of the functional development of children 6–7 years old, taking into account the level of informatization of living conditions. Research methodology. The study involved practically healthy children 6–7 years old. To assess the information load of children when using digital technologies, a modified index of informatization of living conditions was used. The set of physical fitness tests included control exercises to assess speed, speed-strength, coordination motor abilities, flexibility, general and strength endurance. According to the well-known formulas, a double product, Kerdo’s vegetative index, Myznikov’s index, an indicator of the body’s adaptive potential and body mass index were determined. Results. The data obtained indicate that boys, on average, are characterized by a higher indicator of informatization of living conditions in comparison with girls. The differences were revealed, determined by the degree of informatization of living conditions, in terms of general and strength endurance, speed, speed-strength and coordination abilities, physical development, as well as the functional capabilities of the organism. The results of the study give grounds to believe that an adequate mode of physical education, ensuring the satisfaction of the biological needs of children for physical activity, may be the most important factor in increasing their motor fitness, preventing adverse changes in functional development with the active use of digital technologies in everyday life. Conclusions. Analysis of the influence of digital technologies on the functional development of children aged 6–7 years has shown that the features of motor fitness, functional capabilities of the body and physical development of boys and girls aged 6-7 years depend on the level of informatization of living conditions. It turned out that with an increase in the time of using digital technologies in the daily routine, there is a decrease in the considered indicators of the morphological and functional development of children.

Our time is the time of rapid technological development. The Internet is becoming available to everyone, and it is expanding its influence in various fields. In addition, the number of users who are using the Internet and who are active consumers of different content is increasing. But the rapid development of technology has created new security problems. New types of threats are emerging, attack techniques are improving. Criminals are now trying to find their «victim»not only in the real world, but also in the digital world. So, today special attention is given to the issue of ensuring the user’s information security and user’s security in the digital world. One of the most vulnerable age groups are children. That is why one of the most important issues is the issue of protecting a child in such an environment. This article is devoted to the problem of information security of children and adolescents in our country. The article describes the main problem of the child in such an environment. On one hand, the virtual activity of the child is the key to its successful education. But, on the other hand, there are risks and problems in the digital world, such as access to prohibited content, that can cause harm to the mental health of a child. This article describes vulnerabilities in the information environment of students and educational institutions, as well as ways to counter the described vulnerabilities.

Магистерская диссертация состоит из введения, трех глав, заключения, списка литературы (63 источника) и приложений, включающих в себя примеры выполнения детьми нейропсихологических проб. Объем магистерской диссертации 80 страниц, на которых размещены 16 рисунков и 3 таблицы. Во введении раскрывается актуальность проблемы исследования, разработанность проблематики, ставятся цель и задачи исследования, определяются объект и предмет исследования, формулируется основная гипотеза, указываются методы и эмпирическая база, а также этапы проведения исследования, научная новизна, теоретическая и практическая значимость работы. Первая глава включает в себя обзор иностранной и отечественной литературы по теме влияние цифровой среды на нейрокогнитивное развитие детей. Представлены разделы, посвященные непосредственно исследованию влияния цифровой среды и обзору современных тенденций в образовательном процессе в России. Вторая глава посвящена рассмотрению нейропсихологического подхода к оценке состояния высших психических функций у детей. В ней представлено описание теории системной динамической локализации в аспекте детской нейропсихологии и особенностей нейропсихологической диагностики в детском возрасте. Третья глава – это экспериментальная часть исследования. Она включает описание нейропсихологической методики, выборки для исследования, а также факторный анализ результатов исследования.
Выводы по главе 3 включают в себя основные результаты эмпирического исследования. В заключении в обобщенном виде изложены результаты теоретической и эмпирической частей работы, а также выводы по выдвинутой гипотезе, обоснована практическая значимость исследования и описаны возможные перспективы дальнейшей разработки данной проблематики.The object matter of the study is development of cognitive functions in children 6-8 years old. The subject of the study is the impact of the digital environment on the cognitive development of children. The master's thesis consists of the introduction, three chapters, the conclusion, the list of literature (63 sources) and the appendix, which includes the examples of children performing neuropsychological tests. The volume of the master's thesis is 80 pages, on which are placed 16 figures and 3 tables. The introduction reveals the relevance of the research problem, the development of the problematics, the purpose and objectives of the research are set, the object and the subject of research are determined, the basic hypotheses is formulated, the methods and the empirical base are specified, as well as the stages of the research, the scientific novelty, the theoretical and practical significance of the work are described. The first chapter includes an overview of the Russian and foreign literature on the subject of the impact of the digital environment on the cognitive development of children. The sections devoted to the study of the impact of the digital environment and an overview of the modern trends in the educational process in Russia are presented. The second chapter is devoted to the description of the neuropsychological approach to assessing the status of cognitive functions in children. It provides a description of the theory of system dynamic localization in the aspect of child neuropsychology and the characteristics of neuropsychological diagnostics in childhood. The third chapter is the experimental part of the study. It includes the description of neuropsychological tests, sample for the research and also the factor analysis of the results of the study. The findings of Chapter 3 are the main results of the empirical study. In conclusion, brief results of the theoretical and empirical parts of the work are presented, as well as conclusions on the hypotheses. The practical significance of the study is substantiated and possible prospects for further development of the problematics are described.

This dissertation investigated the roles of early childhood fundamental motor skills (FMS) competence on physical, cognitive, and psychosocial health outcomes among underserved preschoolers in Head Start, and examined parental influence on their children's FMS competence. An explanatory sequential mixed methodology was used to examine the predictive strength of FMS competence on physical, cognitive, and psychosocial health outcomes among 216 underserved preschoolers from six Head Start centers (Mage = 4.32, SD = 0.63; girls 56.5%). This methodology allowed for a follow-up qualitative aspect to explore the influence of parents' perceptions and behaviors on their child's FMS competence and health outcomes in a subsample of eight parent–child dyads who demonstrate high or low FMS competence in the quantitative data. The results of this dissertation suggest that preschoolers' FMS competence, especially locomotor skills, were associated with and predicted various health outcomes in sedentary behavior (β = -0.21), light physical activity (β = 0.23), executive function (β = -0.21), and perceived motor competence (β = 0.34). No significant influences of FMS competence on moderate-to-vigorous, body fatness, HRQoL were found (p > 0.05). We also found that positive parental influences (role modeling, support, and facilitation) were observed more often among preschoolers in the high FMS competence group. In addition, preschoolers with single, divorced, or young parents (age range 18–24) tended to show low FMS competence. The analysis of children's drawing pictures also indicated differences in images related to the moments when they played games or sports with parents based on their FMS competence levels. Practical implications and future research direction are discussed.

The main purpose of this research is to study the effect of environment on young children in audiation and rhythm toward music. A case study is conducted to combine documentary analysis with observation for final conclusion. The importance of early musical instruction and the development of young children’s listening, singing and rhyming toward music are discussed based upon relevant paper. In addition, the Preparatory Audiation Theory by Edwin Gordon is reviewed. A face-to-face questionnaire with parents and an observation scale for young children’s musical capability containing listening, singing, and rhyming are also developed to carry out observation from April 8, 2007 with a total of 8 hours. Time for each observation lasts for one hour. The conclusions are as followed： Ι、Effects of environment for young children’s musical ability development include：music types that are encountered in daily life will affect young children’s willing of appreciating music; target of imitation at home will affect young children’s movement and rhyming ability; formal instruction in music from teachers will affect young children’s rhyming, singing and types of creating; physiological development will affect musical performance and movement of young children. Therefore, to provide more music varieties in the environment and proper musical stimulus will facilitate musical ability for young children. Ⅱ、Young children’s listening ability increases as they get older and more stimulus from the environment. Young children develop vary capability at different age. If no appropriate musical instruction is offered, it’s possible to restraint certain musical ability for young children. Ⅲ、Young children’s physical development and instruction on singing both directly affect their capability. Generally speaking, they perform better at the later observation period than at the previous period in singing. The environment they have been observed also affects the result. IV、Young children’s rhyming ability performs better as they get more stimulus from the environment. Physiological development distinctly affects their rhyming performance. The less mature their muscles are, the less exquisite their movement is. I addition, the younger children also perform less varieties in movement, less accuracy in their rhyming performance as well as less coordination in movement. Ⅴ、It requires both environmental and physical conditions to generate better performance in music for young children.

This study aimed to use a Waldorf kindergarten as an example to explore the influence of music environment on young children's musical development. The researcher observed and analyzed the music environment content provided by the kindergarten and the music behaviors of two 4-year-old children from January 22, 2018 to July 10, 2018. Through the literature review, the researcher developed the music development indicators for dynamic, rhythm and pitch, in order to analyze the music behaviors of the two children. Based on the observations and analysis results, the conclusions of this study were as follows: 1. The music environment provided by Waldorf Kindergarten was not for music teaching purpose. The teacher used pitch to bring in words and songs to change daily routine. Music was every moment to accompany children. 2. In Waldorf Kindergarten music environment, the dynamic development of young children was consistent with or better than the same age according to the literature. 3. In Waldorf Kindergarten music environment, the rhythm development of children, regardless of rhythm, beat, tempo, was consistent with or advance to their age according to the literature. 4. In Waldorf Kindergarten music environment, the two children's development in pitch was in line with their age according to the literature. Based on the conclusions, the researcher made recommendations to kindergarten teachers, music teachers, teacher training, parents, and researchers who were interested in early childhood music education.

Early parent–child interactions influence children’s later linguistic, social-emotional, and cognitive development. Since deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) children are more at risk for difficulties in their development than hearing children, the caregiving environment is an important context to enhance their development. This chapter describes different aspects of parent–child interactions that are related to the development of young DHH children. Parental language input, mental state language, and sensitivity are related to young DHH children’s language skills, social-emotional development, and executive functions. The chapter addresses parent-based interventions to promote DHH children’s linguistic, social-emotional, and cognitive development.

Over the past 20 years, research on the development of emotions and interest in the emotion–cognition interface has blossomed. Coinciding with this growth has been research on the neural circuitry and development of two basic motivational/emotion states: one brought on by threat and danger (i.e., fear) and one resulting from actively pursuing or receiving reward (i.e., reward/joy). The current chapter reviews traditional approaches to thinking about emotional development and temperament in infants and children. It then reviews the neuroscience work associated with fear and reward with a focus on the development of these systems. A particular emphasis will be placed on how this research and the examination of gene X environment interactions can influence research in personality and emotion development.

The chapter examines the extant literature on political socialization, focusing on the role of communication in this process. Reviewing a wide range of approaches to socialization—from those stressing the role the institutions that teach young people civic values and practices to those emphasizing the role of dispositions that encourage political development and learning—we highlight communication’s influence in establishing civic norms and competencies. Increasingly, digital, social, and mobile media are implicated in these dynamics. We first define core concepts such as civic norms and the various sources from which they are acquired, communication competence and the challenges of navigating an increasingly complex media environment, socialization and attention to this ongoing process into adulthood, and citizenship and its changing styles and expanding boundaries. These core concepts provide the basis for considering the major points of development and dispute over political socialization.

Children are exquisitely vulnerable to health threats in the environment. The World Health Organization estimates that 36% of all deaths in children worldwide are caused by harmful environmental exposures. Environmental exposures are major causes of non-communicable diseases in children—asthma, birth defects, preterm birth, neurodevlopemental disorders, cancer, obesity, and diabetes. This chapter reviews the historical origins of children’s environmental health, which is the branch of pediatric medicine and public health that studies the influence of the environment on children’s health, development, and risk of disease. It describes the evolution of research in this growing field. It describes the global spread of environmental hazards, especially toxic chemicals and pesticides to rapidly industrializing low- and middle-income countries where these materials have resulted in major episodes of disease and death in children. The chapter concludes with a discussion of strategies for prevention of environmental disease in children.

This Too Is Music guides and motivates teachers to foster classroom conditions that enable elementary students to thrive as improvisers, critical listeners, performers, and composers. Using anecdotes and illustrated with musical examples, the book explores how these aspects of music making are intertwined and quells any doubts teachers may have regarding their abilities to create an environment where children can improvise, dance, compose, and notate their musical offerings. While the book acknowledges the importance of traditional approaches to teaching notation and performance, its emphasis is on the student’s point of view, illustrating how young musicians can learn when their musical ideas are honored and celebrated. Various teaching ideas are presented; some are exploratory in nature, and others involve direct instruction. Regardless of their nature, all of the activities arise from research on children’s musical development in general and their development of notational systems in particular, and they have been tested in multiple elementary-classroom environments and preservice settings. The activities center on engaging with music through movement, performing, singing, improvising, composing, developing notational skills, and appealing to children across subjects, including language, drama, and mathematics. Urban renewal has been the dominant approach to revitalizing industrialized communities that fall into decline. Detroit, with its vast majority Black population and struggling auto industry, encountered such decline. The Skillman Foundation sought to engage in a joint effort to bring Detroit back to its position of strength. With its mission of enhancing the development and well-being of children, Skillman entered partnerships with six Detroit neighborhoods with the largest concentrations of children whose well-being and development was at risk. The Foundation solicited the technical assistance of the University of Michigan School of Social Work. This book introduces readers to the environment within which the work of technical assistance began. The work is placed within a theoretical and practice context. This includes conducting needs assessments at multiple levels, engaging community members in identifying strategies for problem-solving, assistance in developing community goals for immediate and long-term success, and implementing social work field instruction opportunities. Lessons learned and challenges are described as they played out in the process of creating partnerships for the Foundation with community leaders, engaging and maintaining youth involvement, managing roles and relationships with multiple partners recruited by the Foundation for their specialized expertise, and conducting the work of technical assistance within a context of increasing influence of the city’s surrounding systems (political, economic, educational, and social). Readers will note the role of technical assistance in an evolving theory of change. Case vignettes, case-based discussion questions, and additional resources in each chapter provide an excellent opportunity for classroom use.

AbstractChildren and adolescents experience rapid changes due to development and growth processes, thereby necessitating adaptation and flexibility. In addition, young people also often face environmental crises or traumas, human-made catastrophes, or individual (chronic illness) or family (parent divorce, death of a loved one) crises. In the past, to facilitate young people’s adaptation to change, major aims of parents, teachers, and therapists focused on protecting children and adolescents from harm and helping them grow up in a secure environment. Over time, modern life and the influence of the positive psychology orientation have led to a shift in those aims, which now focus more on helping young people feel happy, flourish, and use their own strengths. A key element in making this process of adaptation to change successful is resilience. This chapter deals with the effects of changes, crises, and traumas on children and adolescents, while focusing on the importance of resilience at the individual, family, and environmental levels. This approach directs adaptation to change efforts towards the present rather than towards the past, thereby meeting the important need of treating children and adolescents who have experienced crisis and trauma by imparting them with skills for better coping today in their major natural environments.

The integration of ICT in the education system has led to the continuous development and adoption of technology-enhanced learning (TEL) platforms such as the virtual learning environment (VLE) to facilitate and activate TEL practices in higher education institutions. The use of VLE such as MOODLE and Blackboard is proliferating; however, the experience of users in determining the relevance of VLE in enhancing teaching and learning has been identified to be an important factor in the successful use of VLEs. This chapter employed a quantitative method to examine students' experience in using VLE at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. The chapter also presents the result of the investigation into the influence of students' computer self-efficacy on their perceived ease of use, usefulness, and attitudes towards the use of VLE. The results of this study show that students believe that VLE enhances their learning. Furthermore, the results show that self-efficacy has a weak influence on students' perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and attitudes towards the use of VLE.

The application of WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) technology in the healthcare industry has gained increasing attention in recent years. It provides effective and efficient sharing of health information among healthcare professionals in timely treatment of patients (Collaborative Health Informatics Centre, 2000; Whetton, 2005a). However, there is still a concern among healthcare professionals whether health information is shared safely with WLAN technology. The primary aim of this study is to explore factors influencing healthcare professionals’ adoption of WLAN security technology. This study was conducted in regional health settings in Queensland, Australia using a focus group discussion and a questionnaire survey in a mixed research methodology. The outcomes indicate that learning support, user technology awareness, readiness of existing system, and social influence, are four important factors in healthcare professionals’ adoption of WLAN security technology. The findings suggest that healthcare professionals prefer to be more informed and prepared on knowledge of WLAN security technology before they decide to adopt it in their work environment. Therefore, their awareness of what the technology can do and cannot do for them, and the support they could get in learning to use the technology, play a crucial role. The healthcare professionals are concerned with how readily their existing system could support WLAN security technology and how people important to them would influence their decision in adopting WLAN security technology. Future research should extend the study in three areas. Firstly, future study should examine factors in this study with more regional areas of Australia. Secondly, future research should also examine the relationship between the factors and the demographic variables. Finally, there is also the possibility of examining the adoption factors with other security technology in healthcare, such as the pairing of WLAN technology and biometric security.

Background: Quality of life is actually a broader construct that encompasses aspects of life that may not be amenable to healthcare service. The quality of life of children is a subjective perception of satisfaction or happiness on quality of life. The quality of life is influenced by various factors, namely health conditions, socio-economic status, parenting styles, and the environment. According to HL Bloom’s theory, health status is determined by 40 percent of environmental factors, 30 percent of behavioral factors, 20 percent of health services, and 10 percent of genetics or heredity. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of social capital, parenting, and the environment on the quality of life among children. Subjects and Method: This was a retrospective cohort study. Total of 400 children aged 2-4 years old who reside in the desa layak anak villages and ordinary villages in the region of Sleman regency. The dependent variable was quality of life among children. The independent variables were social capital, parenting, and the environment. Data were obtained from in-depth interview and questionnaire. Data were analyzed using path analysis. Results: The good quality of life of children was affected directly by positive social capital (b = 0.084; SE = 0.049; p = 0.001), good parenting style (b = 0.123; SE = 0.050; p <0.001), and good environment (b = 0.128; SE = 0.048; p <0.001). Conclusion: Social capital, parenting and environment have a direct influence on the quality of life among children. The emerging of digital technology not only encourages the development of new tools but also changes traditional approaches to solving emerging problems. The sound, music, art and colour that prevailed in the 20th century forms of therapy are being replaced by integrated systems that overcome many of these forms thanks to digital technology. With the increasing number of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in the world, such systems provide new opportunities for the educating of such persons. The article presents an interactive tool for the education of children with ASD using audio, video and computer technologies and assesses its potential impact. The aim of this study is to evaluate an interactive instrument developed for the education of children with ASD. The methodology of qualitative research was applied. Following the objectives of ensuring the interactivity of the process, provoking all perceptions of the subject and developing the subject's ability to respond to the environment a personalized audio-visual environment was created. The study was conducted on one subject and a case study method was used. The particularly rapid development of computer technology has transformed a computer from a device consisting of a keyboard and screen into a device that makes all our senses responsive ‒ sound, image, interactivity and real-life simulation. Interactive video projections further highlight the possibilities of combining these media. The opportunity to manage and to participate in such interactions becomes a great opportunity to learn about the world and make personal contact with it, especially for children with ASD.

The growing importance of ICT in educational processes activates the development of modern electronic teaching aids in various content areas and the development of teaching methods. The integration of ICT must ensure the improvement of the teaching/learning environment and the development of new teaching/learning approaches. Students’ motivation, engagement and interest in own learning are obligatory for successful and student-oriented education, especially in a situation of crisis, when educational institutions can immediately be closed after a governmental decision (pandemic caused by “Covid-19”) as it happened in March, 2020. All teaching and learning had been moved unexpectedly to remote/distance education setting, to adapt the learning methods and processes and to motivate the learners contributes to sustainable education. The aim of the paper is to develop active learning methods in digital environment to modernize the learning environment required for STEM in Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences, which includes the development of teaching methods and tools and their suitability for the digital age. The methodology includes theoretical research and practical experiments for full time students in face-to-face and digital environment. There are three experimental groups for course “Algorithms and data structures” ‒ one for traditional teaching, one with active learning methods faceto- face classroom and one with active learning methods in digital environment. Results of the research shows that active learning methods influence positively to course results but there are no differences for course results between groups with active learning methods in face-to-face and digital environment.

Talent development process in football is considered as a process of providing the optimal environment for identifying and realising the maximum ability of young athletes. A multidimensional approach to analysing factors that influence junior to senior transition can produce much better support for coaches and management to distinguish elite and non-elite players. With development of digital technologies and artificial intelligence, more clubs are able to perform detailed analysis of their youth development programme. In this paper, we focus on identfying good practices in connecting digital technologies with talent development process in sports. Based on established methods and techniques used by experts in a field of data mining within sports, we want to select an appropriate methodology and approach in discovering knowledge from the data for the doctoral dissertation. Literature review presents a first step in a hollistic process of identifying key attributes in junior to senior transition. The findings suggest that the comprehensive approach towards analysing data in sports, results in better identification of skills and attributes of young athletes. Consequently, data mining in sports is becoming more and more important in assessing important characteristics on every level within talent development process.

"Introduction: Executive functions (EF) are developed early, building a fundamental basis of higher cognitive processes in adulthood (Garon et al., 2008). There are studies with children of typical development (Passolunghi et al., 2006; Welsh et al., 2010) that have demonstrated the key role of EF, such as working memory, inhibitory control, planning and attentional flexibility, in initial literacy and precalculus. What is still unclear is whether these EF can be stimulated early and if it has any effect on their development. At the same time, it is known that children with atypical development, such as ADHD, have deficiencies in the development of EF (Barkley, 1997). Early stimulation of EF in this type of population will have the same effects as in a typical development population? The objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of a stimulation program of the EF (working memory, inhibitory control, planning and attentional flexibility), by means of a tablet digital game, in the development of the EF of preschool children with and without symptoms of ADHD, of socioeconomically disadvantaged sectors. Method: Two groups, control (CG) and intervention (IG) were selected at random, both were evaluated twice (before and after). In total there were 408 participants, 212 with typical development and 196 with atypical development. The IG was exposed to a digital game of EF through a tablet during 12 sessions (in the classroom). Results: The main results show differences in favor of IG in the different EF evaluated, both for children with and without ADHD symptoms, with the exception of attentional variable for which no differences were observed. There are differences in the effect of EF among children evaluated. Discussion: These differences and their possible implications in the educational and social environment are discussed."

Во многом это может обеспечиваться внедрением механизма мониторинга освоения и состояния природных территорий. В статье рассмотрена возможность применения цифровых технологий управления туризмом на природных территориях. Natural resources are an important component of the environment and have significant potential to influence the socio-economic development of the region. The active involvement of natural areas in economic activity is a trend in the modern economy and should be carried out taking into account measures for effective resource use and ensuring the safety of natural resources. This can be largely ensured by the introduction of a mechanism for monitoring the development and state of natural areas. The article discusses the possibility of using digital technologies for tourism management in natural areas.
