The present study was conducted to know the experience of girls to their body image and outlook. The objective was to explore the perception of girls about their body image, level of satisfaction with it, methods that are used to achieve certain body images and the psychological affects and pressure put forth due to prescribed body images. A sample of 60 female students was taken from different departments of University of Karachi. A combination of closed and open ended questionnaire was filled by these female students. Results showed that most of them were experiencing trouble with their body image. They were concerned mostly about their body image and some of them were using different methods of weight loss. Majority agreed that media plays an important role in projecting and promoting to have lower weight and focusing body size. Due to this they feel a pressure that if they could not meet those standards they will be rejected. The study concludes that girls are conscious towards their body image because of their experiences. Therefore they give importance to slim and smart body size and they assume that body image is more important for both boys and girls.

Images are powerful means of communicating scientific results; a strong image can underscore an experimental result more effectively than any words, whereas a poor image can readily undermine a result or conclusion. Developmental biologists rely extensively on images to compare normal versus abnormal development and communicate their results. Most undergraduate lab science courses do not actively teach students skills to communicate effectively through images. To meet this need, we developed a series of image portfolio assignments and imaging workshops in our Developmental Biology course to encourage students to develop communication skills using images. The improvements in their images over the course of the semester were striking, and on anonymous course evaluations, 73% of students listed imaging skills as the most important skill or concept they learned in the course. The image literacy skills acquired through simple lab assignments and in-class workshops appeared to stimulate confidence in the student's own evaluations of current scientific literature to assess research conclusions. In this essay, we discuss our experiences and methodology teaching undergraduates the basic criteria involved in generating images that communicate scientific content and provide a road map for integrating this curriculum into any upper-level biology laboratory course.

The purpose of this research is to compare the previous stereotypes of the scientist image and the current stereotypes of the inventor image among Korean students. For this purpose, three primary schools located in the metropolitan area of Korea were selected under a convenience sampling method, with one class selected for each of the 2nd, 4th, and 6th grades of each school. The conclusions of this research are as follows. First, analyzing students' stereotypes of the inventor image showed that older students had more stereotypes about inventors than younger students did. Second, as a result of analyzing the images according to each indicator, Korean students were found to have stereotypes about the inventor. Third, the symbol of research was expressed together with one of the science-related experiment tool and the making-related experiment tool. Fourth, primary students perceived the inventor as mainly male. Male students mostly drew male inventors and female students mostly drew female inventors. Based on the conclusions obtained through this research, various educational implications to be reflected in primary technology education were suggested to escape the stereotypes of the inventor’s image. This paper describes a course in image computation that is designed to follow and build up an established course in computer graphics. The course is centered on images: how they are generated, manipulated, matched and symbolically described. It builds on the student's knowledge of coordinate systems and the perspective projection pipeline. It covers image generation techniques not covered by the computer graphics course, most notably ray tracing. It introduces students to basic image processing concepts such as Fourier analysis and then to basic computer vision topics such as principal components analysis, edge detection and symbolic feature matching. The goal is to prepare students for advanced work in either computer vision or computer graphics.

Abstract Diagnostic errors in radiology are frequent and can cause severe patient harm. Despite large performance differences between radiologists and non-radiology physicians, the latter often interpret medical images because electronic health records make images available throughout the hospital. Some people argue that non-radiologists should not diagnose medical images at all, and that medical school should focus on teaching ordering skills instead of image interpretation skills. We agree that teaching ordering skills is crucial as most physicians will need to order medical images in their professional life. However, we argue that the availability of medical images is so ubiquitous that it is important that non-radiologists are also trained in the basics of medical image interpretation and, additionally in recognizing when radiological consultancy should be sought. In acute situations, basic image interpretations skills can be life-saving. We plead for a radiology curriculum for all medical students. This should include the interpretation of common abnormalities on chest and skeletal radiographs and a basic distinction of normal from abnormal images. Furthermore, substantial attention should be given to the correct ordering of radiological images. Finally, it is critical that students are trained in deciding when to consult a radiologist.

The article is devoted to the substantiation and results of a study of implicit notions of a happy person in elementary school students. The methodological foundation is constructed by D.A. Leontiev’s two-level model of happiness, K. Riff’s concept of happiness as the basis of psychological well-being, and V.L. Sitnikov’s concept of the image of a person. The deployed research method is “SPI(H) — the Structure of a Person’s Image (Hierarchical)” (V.Sitnikov) including the verbal and non-verbal associative experiment with the subsequent content analysis. The novelty of the study lies in the comparison of the image of a happy person and self-image through the psychosemantic method including a comparative analysis of the notions of a happy person in children from complete and incomplete families. A happy person is associated by elementary school children with an emotionally positive attitude towards life, a responsible and caring attitude towards people, the presence of a family and active interaction with it, less often with success in educational and intellectual activity and material well-being, as well as the presence of friends. A happy person is idealized by younger students, however, their image is more abstract compared to children’s self-images. Elementary school students from complete families are characterized by greater conformity of the self-image with the image of a happy person whereas only half of the children from incomplete families show such correspondence. The predominant modality of both images is positive in all children. Social, bodily, and metaphorical characteristics are more common in the image of a happy person among children from incomplete families while the conventional social role characteristics dominate among children from complete families. The prospects for further study of the image of a happy person in elementary school children within the framework of family psychology are outlined.

This thesis aimed to investigate predictors of body image which were irrational beliefs, socially-prescribed perfectionism, social comparison, physical activity level and satisfaction with life among university students. Participants were included of 790 undergraduate students from different departments of in a large state university and sample is selected according to convenience sampling method. Multidimensional Body Self Relations Scale, Irrational Beliefs Scale-Short, Socially-Prescribed Perfectionism Scale, Social Comparison Scale, Satisfaction with Life Scale and demographic information form were used to collect the data. Multiple regression analysis was used to explain the hypothesized model of predictors of body image. Results indicated that irrational beliefs, social comparison, physical activity level and satisfaction with life predicted body image positively whereas the relationship between socially prescribed perfectionism was positive but non-significant. In addition comparing the mean scores of scales by gender, total score of body image was higher in men than women. Findings of this study revealed that social comparison was playing a significant role in forming body image followed by spending little time vs. much time engaging with sportive activities, irrational beliefs, satisfaction with life and having little time vs. average time for physical activities. Results were discussed regarding to the relevant literature.

There is an image associated with BC students that most, if not all, undergraduates can describe. Though the more superficial explanation only includes expensive preppy brand names, Apple products, and working out at the Plex, the BC image is more multifaceted. A study of consumerism, fashion, status, narcissism, collective consciousness, the self and the generalized other, and even Jesuit ideals provides the theoretical background to the analysis. The data were collected through focus group interviews, surveys, pictures, and observations to form a complete idea of BC image. This thesis explores the many sources of this image, its definition, and the extent to which students identify with it

Objective: This study sought to examining the gender-based expectations of an ideal body, for self and opposite gender, among college students. Methods: The study used a qualitative approach using thematic analysis. Common words and phrases were first identified and later grouped into category, through open and axial coding respectively. Next, central theme was identified using selective coding. Results: This study examined a total of 145 student participants responses of which 94 were self-identified women and 51 were self-identified men. The results reveal that men’s ideal body perception for a woman is different than women’s expectations for women. For example, women’s perceptions of ideal body for women were focused on features such as lips, nose, eyebrows; whereas the men’s perception of ideal body for women was considered to be a small body type. Similarly, there was also variation of ideal body expectations for men. Although both men and women considered fit body types to be the most ideal body for men, women also reported personal hygiene as being an important factor. Furthermore, the men’s perception focused more on body types rather than other factors such as hygiene. Conclusion: Our results show unique differences in body image perception based on self-identified gender. These results can aid public health professionals in creating targeted body positivity initiatives.

Annotation:
One of the premises that determines the research topic is that the methodologies for forming the self-image of the students of the primary classes in the process of receiving the literary text are not sufficiently known, systematized, valorized, applied. In addition, the literary text with its dual function of psychological and pedagogical resource is used in the educational approach more as a moral value. The emotional aspect, probed in the theories of art or more specifically of artistic literary education, which contributes to the development of the respective intelligence is less valued by teachers. The "poor" emotional intelligence developed at the students, the problems of the self-image made us preoccupied about this problem. The purpose of the research aims to reveal some methods corresponding to the literary-artistic education for the formation of the self-image of the students of the primary school in the process of receiving the literary text. The research aims to establish the psycho-pedagogical and literary-artistic landmarks for the formation of the self-image of the students of the primary school in the process of receiving the literary text; studying the practical situation regarding the formation of the student's self-image; applying questionnaires to investigate the student's self-image; highlighting, in the process of the pedagogical experiment, the tendencies and the particularities of forming the self-image of the student, as well as the validation of the formative approach within the control phase; creating opportunities to introduce didactic technologies specific to the system of literary-artistic activities for the formation of the student's self-image. Expected results: a comparative analysis of the curriculum and book of Romanian language and literature, 3rd / 4th grades in Romania and in the Republic of Moldova, regarding the existence of the competences / contents that lead to the formation of the self-image of the students, two lots (one experimental and one control) of 100 students from the 3rd / 4th grades from Romania and from the Republic of Moldova, on which questionnaires on the self-image will be applied, an optional curriculum Read and get to know yourself! for the 3rd / 4th grades, which aims at forming the self-image of the primary students in the process of receiving the literary text, an auxiliary for the 3rd / 4th graders and a guide for the teaching staff the optional class, with different contents aimed at forming the self-image of the students of the primary classes in the process of receiving the literary text, a training program and the course support, approved by the Ministry of National Education of Romania, 25 trained teachers. The research runs from November 2020 to June 2021.

The corona epidemic spreads frighteningly and rapidly in all countries of the world, forcing humanity to an abnormal life. Failure to fully control the epidemic and to find adequate and effective vaccines endangers human life. Fighting against the epidemic becomes important, as all these measures could not be taken in the near future. For this reason, it is important to detect whether the person caught the virus expressed in thousands of people is covid or not and to take the necessary measures. For this purpose, an artificial intelligence-based study has been proposed that will speed up the diagnosis of the pandemic by saving labor and expense. In the study, X-Ray images were processed with the most up-to-date deep image processing techniques, and an objective decision support system was created, independent of the doctor's expertise. The proposed system can classify x-ray images as Normal, Covid -19 and Viral Pneumonia using pre-trained deep learning networks (AlexNet, GoogleNet, ResNet8 and ResNet50). The overall accuracies of the networks (AlexNet, GoogleNet, ResNet8 and ResNet50) were 95.7%, 94.5%, 95.4%, 97.4% respectively. It is easy to diagnose in the advanced stages of the disease. As with most diseases, early diagnosis is important in covid-19. With the proposed system based on deep learning, an especially useful tool has been created in combating the pandemic by determining the disease at an early stage. The proposed system can also be used in areas with shortage of health personnel such as rural and remote areas.
