In this Doctoral Thesis, research has been conducted on tennis club facilities in Catalonia, with the aim of determining some design guidelines. Given the peculiarity of this type of sports facility, which due to its non-multisport character has been left out of the Xarxa Bàsica (Basic Network) specified and studied by the Generalitat de Catalunya, then we believe it is necessary to begin this study and provide some considerations for their conception and design. It is important to point out that we intend to study these facilities with the complexity with which we usually find them, that is to say, with a heterogeneous distribution in the territory and made up of sports, complementary and auxiliary spaces.
The theoretical base has provided a review of concepts surrounding the sports space and their historical evolution, their urban planning and the sociological aspects. Later, and going into the methodological foundations, applied research has been carried out because the concepts, collected and reviewed in the theoretical framework have been applied in the specific reality of the tennis courts, and in Catalonia. To carry out this part, we have developed proposals for geographical and territorial analysis, searching for the reasons for the current heterogeneous distribution of tennis courts and determining territorial deficits through the implementation of existing planning tools.
The use of these tools has facilitated the review of the descriptive and classifying parameters of sports facilities and it has allowed us to determine which of these parameters are definable from design and to be applied in the case of tennis courts. This was the starting point for the creation of an instrument to observe and study specific sports spaces (tennis courts) in the organisational reality that we normally find in our country (clubs).
Applying this to a representative sample of clubs, we search for the values of the analysis model which on the one hand make possible the approach to understanding the object of study, and on the other hand, to know, with the interrelation of its indicators, the values that provide greater suitability for the design in each level of observation.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis is about the professionalisation of voluntary leaders in two federal sports organisations. Our intention is to prove that professionalisation results in the increased technicalisation of federal responsibilities which tends to relate amateurs to a secondary role and to dilute traditional culture of voluntary work. We also want to show that because of this professionalisation there is a new generation of volontary leaders asserting themselves. Their commitment is more realistic, transforming the associative model into a managerial business model and the sports ethic into a professional code. At a time when we notice the masses turning away from politics and tradeunionism, should we see in this new militancy the consequences of people's disillusionment, which in the world of sport as everywhere else, results in the rise of individualism and the fading of great ideals ? Those are the evolution of voluntary work in sport and more globally of modern associative militancy

In recent years, the issues related to barrier free environment have raised much attention. Most of the related researches on barrier free environment mainly focus on the public facilities, while there are few researches concerning the barrier free environment of sports and leisure activities. With the development of the handicapped sport events and the promotion of disabled sports from the government, there has been more population devoted to the handicapped/ disabled sports activities. In the handicapped/ disabled sports, the research related to wheelchair tennis mainly focus on the improvement of wheelchair and the batting and technique of wheelchair tennis. To promote the wheelchair tennis sports for those handicapped/ disabled members, the first step is that the tennis club must provide barrier free environment. However, for the previously tennis clubs, there were not barrier free environment. This research takes the Ever-Green Tennis Club in Peitou area as an example. Based on the Standard of the Barrier Free Facilities of Buildings by the Construction and Planning Agency, Ministry of the Interior, the passageway, the ramp, the handrail, indoor exits and the toilet must be equipped with the facilities for the handicapped/ disabled member as the standard for the tennis club’s barrier free environment. It is hoped that with these facilities provided for the handicapped/ disabled athletes, it would raise their interests of joining the tennis club. It is hoped that by means of providing professional coaching the wheelchair tennis sport, the club can provide general leisure activities as well as rehabilitation. Once these athletes master and improve their tennis skills, they can take part in the national completion or the related competition hold by the tennis club. Further these events can raise the reputation of the tennis club. Once these handicapped/ disabled athletes were chosen as a national team to participate in the international competitions, it can also raise the visibility scale of the county.

The major purpose of the study is to construct a management information system for a tennis academy. The system can help to delete using papers and the information can transfer more rapidly and transparently. Most tennis academies provide variety training programs and the difficulties of programs are also design for different levels of players. Hence, the programs are complex. But the coaches assign programs to students according to their experience. With more students, less consideration could happen and the players cannot make more progresses. The study constructs a system for coach to build their lessons using videos and help students make progress with completed training programs. Besides that function, the match information such as competitors, court numbers are also provided by the system. Students can learn the programs in advance through videos and parents can also understand their children’s undergoing programs. All the data can be recorded in the database and information can be retrieved easily.

This study examined the correlation between quality of service and customer satisfaction at table tennis clubs in Taoyuan. The subjects were members of table tennis clubs in Taoyuan. By purposive sampling, this study distributed 450 questionnaire copies, and retrieved 413 valid samples, with a valid response rate of 91.7%. The data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 20 and SPSS Amos 20 on the goodness of fit of the statistical model, and the correlation between all factors was explored. The results showed that quality of service has positive and significant impacts on customer satisfaction. In particular, “responsiveness” and “warrant” in quality of service have the greatest impact on “environment facilities” and “overall impact” in customer satisfaction. Based on the research results, this study suggested that the club operators should solve the problem of crowdedness resulting from too many people waiting in line in peak hours, repair washing facilities, and keep an eye on the maintenance of cleanliness and hygiene. Furthermore, some clubs should install drinking water machines for the convenience of club members to access drinking water. Also, clubs should offer membership programs that target female members, design customized courses to attract new members, and organize matches (such as ranked match and matches for players at different levels) on a regular basis to set the mood for exercise at the club. The findings can provide a reference for managing table tennis clubs in Taoyuan. Keywords: table tennis club, quality of service, customer satisfaction

The study of paddle brand image to purchase intention for table tennis club participants in Kaohsiung Abstract The purpose of this study was to explore how paddle brand images affect purchase intention for the table tennis club participants in Kaohsiung and discussed how variables composed of the participants’ background information influence their purchase intention. The investigation tool was self-constructed questionnaire. Five hundred and thirteen were returned. These data were analyzed by means of Descriptive Statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient and the results were as follows. First, among the brands, Butterfly was the most recognizable to those table tennis participants who had the following characteristics: aged from 51 to 60, bachelor degree, civil servants, do exercises at least five times in a week, the income was between 50,001 and 7,000 dollars, and the average spending on every single paddle was over three thousand dollars. Second, the scores of brand image in this study were slightly over the average. Among the three factors, the average score of functional image was the highest, that of experiential image was in between and that of symbolic image was the lowest. Purchase intention was also slightly over the average. Third, functional image was affected by ages, the brands of paddles people bought most, and the average spending on every single paddle. Fourth, educational levels and disposable amount every month affect those subjects’ purchase intention. Last, brand image had an influence on the purchase intention. According to the results above, three suggestions were provided for the corporations. First, the marketing plans should be made based on the different functions of paddles. Second, besides keeping the existing consumers, brands should increase the cooperation with the table tennis associations and clubs to hold diverse matches and activities. This can expand the sources of consumers and elevate purchase intention. Third, the corporations can attract more consumers by means of improving the quality of service, providing unique services, and designing distinctive features of the brands. This study can be further developed via different brands and subjects in the future research. Key words: paddle, brand image, purchase intention
