The new economy is based on the sphere of services, which are created by intellectual creative work. Key factors in this are knowledge, innovation, scientific achievements and technologies based on modern progressive post-industrial society. In this way, intellectual and creative work turns into the leading driving force of the new economy. The purpose of the work is to determine the key areas of development of the creative economy. As a result of the research, it was established that the creative economy includes hundreds of spheres of activity. Among them, in particular: television, fine arts, design, cinema, music, architecture, education, fashion, etc. This list can be continued endlessly, because human imagination has no limits. The creative economy depends on the creative activity of people and the innovativeness of their works, and not on natural resources, such as land, water, and subsoil. Thus, this industry does not cause such damage to the environment as it is caused by industrial enterprises or agricultural production. It is these sectors that primarily deplete renewable and non-renewable natural resources massively, and also pollute the environment. In Ukraine, the process of investing in creative industries is still far from the indicators of developed countries and is implemented through separate programs that stimulate people, mainly young people, to earn, activating intellectual potential (Start-up Fund, Diya City, loans 5-7-9, etc). The largest producer of added value in the creative economy sector in Ukraine is the IT sector, which accounts for 25% of the total added value. The largest share of IT technology exports is accounted for by computer services – almost 37%. In 2020, their income was 5 billion dollars, and in 2021 – 6.8 billion US dollars. Recently, the creative economy is closely intertwined with all areas of our life. It affects education, science, technical progress, determines the attractiveness of regions. In the processes of formation of the creative economy, the main resource is information, and the key assets are personnel and their non-standard, creative ideas. Thus, the main direction is to increase the quality of human capital. However, the development of this area also requires appropriate capital investments. Creative industries develop best in large cities, megacities, and highly developed countries. Therefore, in order to catch up with Germany or Great Britain, Ukraine needs to increase investments in this area. The scientific provisions regarding the systematization of the directions of the creative economy were further developed, and the volumes of the creative economy by sectors of the national economy were substantiated.

The era of audiovisual culture began more than a hundred years ago with the advent of cinema, and is associated with a special language that underlies non-verbal communication processes. Today, screen influence on humans is dominant, as the generation for which computer is an integral part of everyday life has grown. In recent years, non-verbal language around the world has been a major tool in the fight for influence over human consciousness and intelligence. Formation of basic concepts of media education, which later developed into an international pedagogical movement, in a number of western countries (Great Britain, France, Germany) began in the 60’s and 70’s of the XX century. In Canada, as in most highly developed countries (USA, UK, France, Australia), the history of media education began to emerge from cinematographic material. The concept of screen education was formed by the British Society for Education in Film (SEFT), initiated by a group of enthusiastic educators in 1950. In the second half of the twentieth century, due to the intensive development of television, the initial term “film teaching” was transformed into “screen education”. The high intensity of students’ contact with new audiovisual media has become a subject of pedagogical excitement. There was a problem adjusting your children’s audience and media. The most progressive Canadian educators, who have recognized the futility of trying to differentiate students from the growing impact of TV and cinema, have begun introducing a special course in Screen Arts. The use of teachers of the rich potential of new audiovisual media has greatly optimized the learning process itself, the use of films in the classroom has become increasingly motivated. At the end of 1968, an assistant position was created at the Ontario Department of Education, which coordinated work in the “onscreen education” field. It is worth noting that media education in Canada developed under the influence of English media pedagogy. The first developments in the study of “screen education” were proposed in 1968 by British Professor A. Hodgkinson. Canadian institutions are actively implementing media education programs, as the development of e-learning is linked to the hope of solving a number of socio-economic problems. In particular, raising the general education level of the population, expanding access to higher levels of education, meeting the needs for higher education, organizing regular training of specialists in various fields. After all, on the way of building an e-learning system, countries need to solve a set of complex technological problems to ensure the functioning of an extensive network of training centers, quality control of the educational process, training of teaching staff and other problems. Today, it is safe to say that Canada’s media education is on the rise and occupies a leading position in the world. Thus, at the beginning of the 21st century, Canada’s media education reached a level of mass development, based on serious theoretical and methodological developments. Moreover, Canada remains the world leader in higher education and spends at least $ 25 billion on its universities annually. Only the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia are the biggest competitors in this area.

Imagine a world without broadcasting. What would we miss if, from tomorrow, say, there were no more radio and television? The nightly news, favourite soaps or comedy series, the ways in which listening and viewing help to pass the time, especially in the evenings or at weekends; the live coverage of big occasions (the Olympics or a royal wedding); the special programs on special days such as Christmas … these losses we might point to quite readily, hut they would not sufficiently account for the effects of the absence of broadcasting. The media are today, one taken for granted element in the day to day life of members of our societies. In this article I want to pay attention to the unobtrusive ways in which broadcasting sustains the lives and routines, from one day to the next, year in year out, of whole populations, and to reflect on some of the implications of these processes. I will try to account for the ways in which the times of radio and television are organised in relation to the social spaces of listening.

The aim of the topic is to deal with role of television on the lifestyle of people and their cultural and religious understanding. TV programs will be shown to change according to lifestyle, education and cultural understanding. Nevertheless, television has a great importance on the lifestyle of people. The religious understanding is a part of the lifestyle. Many Turks shape their cultural and religious understanding by watching television. The authors will deal with cultural and religious understanding from a socio-cultural perspective, exemplifying this by two Turkish television programs called 'Ekmek Teknesi' (Means of Livelihood) and 'Sir Kapisi’ (Door to Secret). The authors aim to examine the dimensions of these soap operas in the context of religious education, cultural and theological perspectives.

Exploratory case studies investigated the day care benefit from the multiple perspectives of the person with dementia, caregiver, and day care worker. The routines, daily processes, and factors promoting benefit were reported. The day care client was also queried to explore their ability to contribute useful information about their care environment. The adult day care is primarily a social occasion for its clients, who enjoy the benefits of companionship and interaction. Day cares were differentiated by the environmental features: worker:client ratio, size, suitability of the site for intended purpose, quality of client-worker relationships, and quality of the activities offered. The quality of each of these features is an important component in the day care environment. All components at their highest quality are not necessary for the environment to be beneficial. The most important factors contributing to day care quality were workers who (1) communicated safety to the client through a relaxed, uncritical environment, and (2) facilitated client stimulation through activity and personal interaction, satisfying the clients’ basic needs to be safe and occupied. This evaluation was comprised of: two sets of case studies. Each evaluation was concurrently conducted and consistently designed. Participant observation and survey were the primary methods of data collection. Informed consent was sought from day care clients with dementia, family caregivers, and day care workers.

English is used worldwide as a native, second and foreign language and as a language of international communication. The uses and status of English in Sweden have been discussed in terms of its influence and ubiquity, with its presence in daily life leading some to consider English could be better described as a second, rather than foreign, language in the country. This study analyses how English is presented in the Swedish educational television series Pick a colour and considers how this can be related to the status of English as a global language and specifically the use of English in Sweden. This paper uses an approach drawing on nexus analysis, together with content analysis, to trace the key language ideologies surrounding English presented in Pick a colour and its surrounding texts, and to locate them within the context of the existing discourses in place. Analysis reveals that the series and related documents make attempts to move away from traditional native speaker British English and American English models of the language, and towards a “Global English” not linked to any specific geographical region and with a focus on communicative competence. However, as British English and American English and native-speaker models of the language are not directly challenged in the documents, and are given the greatest prominence in the series, it seems moving away from the status quo is still difficult in practice. The Swedish settings shown in the series, and emphases on the use of English in pupils’ daily lives allude to English being approached in a way more similar to a second, rather than foreign language in Sweden.

Annotation:
This thesis looks at the subject of sports television programming in two European markets, the UK, one of the biggest and most developed in the continent, and the Greek, one of the smallest in Europe. With the help of case studies over a period of eight years and qualitative interviews of television executives and professionals who are involved in sports television rights agreements, it analyses and compares the strategies and decision making of television organisations, the factors that affect their decisions and their success within the chosen markets. A distinction will be made between public service, commercial and pay-TV and the reasons why different sports may suit different channels and at different points in their development. The findings should help to appreciate that there is not one strategy that works universally better than another. Its outcome depends on the value of the content, the particular characteristics of the organisation and the external environment where it operates. Most importantly, the thesis highlights the importance and limitations of the TV sports content, its crucial role in the decision making process and the necessity of more academic research into the area of sports television by people in content-driven disciplines, i.e. journalism and the media.

The main theme of this thesis is the relationship between media and politics in Great Britain mainly in the twentieth century. The research is based on the fact that dynamic post-war growth in technological and economical areas resulted in the development and mass expansion of new media, especially radio and television broadcasting. The main goal of the thesis is to analyze the transformation of British political environment and to verify the hypothesis arguing that this transformation was primarily caused by the development of new media. Changes in the British politics during the twentieth century are demonstrated especially by the election campaigns and methods of political communication. Another part of this work is also the brief analysis of the development of British mass media (press, radio and television) which provides an important context for achieving the stated objectives. The thesis is methodologically based on the research from fields of media history, political history and sociology which concentrates on political communication.

Abstract If you have muscular dystrophy, or you have an affected son or daughter or other affected relative, the first thing to remember is that you are not alone and that there are many others who are similarly affected and share the same worries and concerns. Muscular dystrophy or, more accurately, the muscular dystrophies, as there are many different types, are not uncommon. There are nearly 70 000 individuals affected with a severe form of dystrophy in the various countries of western Europe and at least 40 000 in the USA. It has no predilection for any particular group of individuals but affects all races, all strata of society, and occurs throughout the world. Why then is it not more obvious? The simplest answer is that those with a physical disability often avoid society and, moreover, are often avoided by society. Furthermore, in most forms of dystrophy the resulting disability may not be obvious to the casual observer, and affected individuals often become quite adept at disguising their problems. However, for whatever reason, muscular dystrophy has, for a long time, been a neglected subject. It began to reach public awareness as a result of television programmes specifically organized for this purpose, such as the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign’s Annual Meeting in Britain, the Jerry Lewis TV appeal in the USA, and Télethon in France and Italy. All of these raise a great deal of money each year for research and for the treatment of dystrophy.

I was there in the early spring of 1956 for two weeks, and had the great pleasure of conducting a concert of my works with the NHK orchestra, and of giving with Mr Peter Pears (also for NHK) what in fact was our first recital for television anywhere in the world.1 We were treated with great courtesy and friendship, and I was very impressed with the high standard of playing of the orchestra, and with the players’ considerable understanding of my music. We greatly enjoyed these two concerts. In fact we were both (and I can include Mr Pears in this) astounded by the enthusiasm for and knowledge of Western music we met everywhere. One of the nicest examples of this was the excellent little group of Tokyo Madrigal Singers, under their intelligent conductor Kei [Kei-ichi] Kurosawa, which we heard at a party given for us. We even, after the serious part of the programme was over, took part light-heartedly in the singing ourselves.

Abstract At the present time, Europe is witnessing a spectacular development in the means of mass communication. Three converging phenomena, the development of new broadcasting technologies (cable, satellite, decoders, video, etc), deregulation and internationalization are playing their part in changing utterly both the traditional ways of organizing television broadcasting and the habits of consumers. Admittedly, the forward-looking optimism displayed in the early 1980s by many of those in charge of broadcasting policy is today no longer appropriate: plans for cable networks in France, West Germany and Great Britain are considerably behind schedule; several direct satellite broadcasting schemes have been abandoned, with great regret; the new European channels are taking a long time to find their level of viability, and some investors are starting to withdraw their stakes.

The introduction of interactive television offers new potentialities to the television medium with the possibility of including e-commerce, programs on demand, games, and, last but not least, educational programs. Digital television will allow forms of lifelong learning to disadvantaged sectors of the population, namely those potential learners that have no possibility to improve their own knowledge caused by problems such as lack of free time due to working hours, family care, and so forth. Much of the interactive potentiality of this new medium will depend on the possibility of having a back-channel, connecting television to the Internet. A back-channel would allow the user to store choices, preferences, progress in learning units, and so forth, in the memory. In other words, there is the possibility of customizing the programs offered and the interface according to user preferences. The potentialities of this new medium are numerous, and it is necessary to explore, experiment with, and facilitate the new methods of available interaction. Every great technological change has also meant a change in perspective and mindset. What generally happens in the early stages of the utilization of new technological solutions is that the new tools available continue to be used while adopting an outdated mentality. It is necessary to propose a pedagogical model for the learning programs offered by new technology.

The article is devoted to the migration of minors from England to Canada, Australia, South Africa. The reasons are analyzed, the main stages of child migration are indicated, the goals and objectives pursued by the organizers of resettlement programs, the missions assigned to young Britons outside the metropolis are considered. The author comes to the conclusion that the departure reasons were the needs of children and the needs of Great Britain, both the metropolis and its overseas possessions. Since the XVIIth century, minors were sent to colonies as workers. Deportation from England was also an alternative to imprisonment. In the XIX-th century, the organized deportation of criminals into the colonies stopped. Migration allowed saving the social expenses of the British government. Philanthropists developed plans for the mass relocation of children overseas in order to save them from hunger and crimes to which they were doomed in the impoverished quarters of British cities. The dominions provided great opportunities to improve the social status of the children of the poor. Since the second half of the XIXth century, young migrants began to see great imperial potential. They were considered as the builders of the empire "Great Britain". Underage workers helped farmers develop land. Migration increased the "white" population of colonies and dominions. Children strengthened political ties between countries, spread European political and cultural values. They were entrusted with the task of creating a global British nation, physical and moral recovery of the British. Descendants of British "home children" make up a significant percentage of the population of modern Canada and Australia.

The growing popularity of mobile devices, coupled with the ever-increasing number of high-quality e-books available for free download is causing a re-examination of core curriculum and instructional philosophies. Perhaps the most - making “great books” programs available and accessible - newly interesting, despite misgivings and political correctness of the last few decades. Distance learning via mobile devices, which incorporate some of the techniques of television and film, has made the classics of literature available and allowed people to have access to classics at a very low cost. At the same time, it has re-animated debates about the nature of study of comparative literature in a globalized world.

According to UNSCEAR (United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiations), no less than 10% of lung cancer diseases registered annually are caused by radon radiation. Born in the belly of the earth, the same gas, a class I cancirogen, increases the risk of non-cancerous diseases of the upper respiratory tract and cardiovascular diseases. The radon problem occupies an important place in the radioecological programs of the USA, Japan, Western Europe and Russia. However, the natural radiation varies in the background from location to location. In many countries, survey work is being carried out, including an assessment of the intensity of the radon hazards of sites allocated for construction. In Russia, the Radiation Safety Standards are stipulating that the concentration of radon in the air of residential premises should not exceed 200 Bq/m3; in Sweden, the maximum radon concentration is taken as 100 Bq/m3, in Finland and Canada - 400 Bq/m3, and in Germany and Great Britain - 200 Bq/m3. It is necessary to carefully choose the constructive site, with the minimum concentration of radon in the soil. Our purpose is to carry out a cartographic analysis of radon intake from soil in the territory of Kazan. An important component is the creation of unique maps based on the measurement of radon escalation. The practical significance of the work lies in the application of the results for making management decisions, in engineering and environmental surveys, for conducting hygienic assessments, or simply being used by citizens for informational purposes.

Lately we have been witnessing a very intense form of promoting education, learning and training called distance learning. This phenomenon requires clarifications at both conceptual and practical levels, especially since the methods seem to be approved by a large number of participants in the educational process, therefore we’ll try to approach things from a global perspective. This paper reviews the evolution and impact of all types of distance learning. Distance learning is not a new phenomenon, there was at least 100 years ago, representing a form of teaching and learning through printed educational material was distributed by mail. Due to increased interest in training electronic or "e-learning", in recent years, rapid progress of electronic learning programs, developing Internet and e-mail. This report analyzes the media of information. Except for a few leading companies, the adoption of e-learning in Europe occurred in a much slower rate than in the U.S., one of the main reasons being the different types of training systems in Europe. Also, each European country has a different educational system on access to education, the financing of it, and participating students (as individuals, supported by employers or public systems). Such systems have been developed following discussions between employers, government agencies, educational institutions, accreditation authorities and trade unions. For example, in Germany, these systems are very well organized. Students can participate in distance learning, developing his skills, but not required to work in a field requiring professional mobility. Distance learning courses are also designed a number of contextual issues. Many employees are satisfied with their professional performance and we need much persuasion for them to understand that such courses can improve the existing system. This summary’s meaning is to be a review of the professional development of distance education, particularly in the agricultural and biological sciences in Great Britain and Germany, seeking as well the recommendations for future actions in Romania, Slovenia and Bulgaria.

Laboratory “Gas dynamics of turbo machines” (LGDTM) has quite effective optimal design computer programs based on theoretic analysis and experimental data. The authors do not share an opinion that 3D impellers are superior in any case. A lot of designed compressors are provided with traditional 2D impellers with cylindrical blades disposed in a radial part of an impeller. The industrial partner tested recently 1:2 scale model of a single stage 32 MWt pipeline compressor. The flow path design is based on the medium specific speed 2D impeller. Good general scheme of the industrial partner, no constrains and profound design optimization have led to maximum efficiency 90% and to excellent performance in a whole. But if a design flow rate coefficient exceeds 0,070 … 0,08 application of 3D impeller is inevitable. Meridian configuration and blade cascade shape of 3D impellers are much more complicated in comparison with 2D impellers. LGDTM has no at its disposal complete information on physical or numerical tests of 3D impeller candidates with different design solutions. Modern trend to apply CFD calculation for investigations to fill the gap seems to be most logical. But the authors’ own experience and published data show that CFD modeling of 3D impeller performance curves is not satisfactory. As a rule calculated performances are shifted to bigger flow rates and work coefficient is 6–9% higher. But the positive moment is that the efficiency at the design flow coefficient is predicted quite accurately. It opens a way to compare stage’s candidates at the design regimes efficiency at the design flow coefficient. The initial design of the stage 3D impeller + vaneless diffuser + return channel with flow rate coefficient 0,105 and loading factor 0,56 is based on general principles of LGDTM: inlet velocity minimization, mean velocity deceleration control, Q-3-D non-viscid velocity diagrams with non-incidence inlet and minimal load at leading edges. CFD calculation has demonstrated necessity to apply a diffuser with tampered initial part, and better shape of the tampered part was defined. The better shape of the crossover was defined by CFD calculations too. The impeller candidates with gas dynamic and geometry principle of blade design, with different degree of flow deceleration, different axial dimension and different exit blade angles were compared. The new 6th version of the optimal design computer programs (Universal modeling was widely presented at the conferences in Japan, Germany, Great Britain, etc.) is tuned on high flow rate stages with 3D impellers. Validation calculations demonstrated good level of performance curves modeling. The program was applied to study series of candidates with different dimensions in meridian plane. As these dimensions influence mean blade load each parameter was studied with different number of blades. Main results are: axial elongation of an impeller does not lead to efficiency grow, optimal leading edge position is at about 25% of meridian distance from an impeller inlet, optimal inlet diameter is 8,5% less that the diameter corresponding to minimal peripheral inlet velocity. The last conclusion is of particular interest and needs additional proof. The comparison of 94 impellers candidates has led to the stage efficiency increase on about 1.5%. The results have verified general principles of design applied in the laboratory “Gas dynamics of turbo machines” and pointed out on some improvements of design principles.

Limited physical reserve capacity in older people might be a risk factor for further functional decline and complications after surgery (Griffiths et al., 2014). A shift in cancer care in Sweden toward standardized and enhanced care processes, has led to that time between diagnosis and surgery has been shortened. Therefore, it has become important to focus on the effects of a short exercise program with high intensity and frequency. Recent qualitative studies have shown that patients with cancer need personalized support to perform preoperative exercises and that they prefer to do it at home or close to home (Beck et al., 2020). It is also important with a design that is tailored to the patient's needs, and goal setting, performance feedback, self-monitoring and reminders are all known facilitators for motivation and adherence to physical activity interventions (Michie et al., 2011).Development of the application: In a previous study, physiotherapists visited patients in their homes and supported them in conduction physical exercises during their preoperative phase. In the next step we developed a digital application consisting of, among other things, exercises, support and motivational features. The detailed features of the application were defined together with users during a co-creation process in workshops. Two workshops were conducted together with five patients. During the first workshop the participants discussed experiences from the previous intervention, factors they deemed relevant for adhering to the protocol and motivational aspects. During the second workshop the participants gave input on features and functionalities. One workshop was held together with five physiotherapists. In these workshops, experiences with the previous intervention, support needed for the patients and functionalities and interface for remote support were discussed. Further meetings and workshops were also conducted iteratively during the development phase.Content and interaction with the application: The specific aim of the application is to support the creation and tailoring of exercise programs with high intensity and frequency. The application consists of two parts, one used by the physiotherapists and one used by the patients. Physiotherapists are able to create individual exercise programs by selecting exercises from an exercise library, and then choosing settings for the exercises (e.g., numbers of sets and repetitions) based on a patient's needs and abilities. New types of exercises can be created by the physiotherapist and added to the library. The application allows the physiotherapist to monitor the patient's progress (based on data reported by the patient) and the exercise program can be adjusted if needed. The application also provides support for conveying a sense of presence and encouragement to the patient by allowing physiotherapist to write comments and to give the patient ”likes” on reported exercises, which will then be visible in the patient's part. The patient part of the application allows patients to see which exercises they are supposed to do each day, and to report to which extent the exercises have been completed. During reporting, the application will ask the patient to input data about how and when the exercise was performed (e.g., number of sets and reps, time of day, etc), and how the patient experienced the effort. All reported data are automatically gathered in a training diary section of the application, giving the patient access to the whole training history for later inspection. Any comments or likes sent by the physiotherapist also appears in the diary. The application includes different features for supporting and increasing the motivation to conduct the exercises. For example, rewards in the form of medals are given based on how well the patient follows the exercise program. Also, information about why this kind of training is important for improving the recovery after the surgery is provided in a theory section, to further strengthen the motivation to follow the exercise program. In the workshops patients had expressed the importance of this kind of information since it will be a reminder of how they can contribute to the best outcome as possible.ReferencesGriffiths R et al.
