Der volle Inhalt der QuelleInteractive in-store technologies (ISTs) are gaining importance in the retail setting and are contributing to the consumer experience in store. This dissertation, consisting of three papers, aims to understand the impact of ISTs on consumer experiences through the consumer journey of interaction with ISTs, with a specific focus on highly interactive ISTs - service robots, and on their impact on proactive interaction and post-interaction information processing, utilizing P-O-S perspective (Punj and Stewart, 1983). The first paper adopts a systematic review approach, proposing an updated and comprehensive framework for the ISTs and interactivity tailored to physical retail. This paper also presents complementary research models, setting the groundwork and inspiration for the subsequent two papers. The second paper employs an experimental approach to investigate the effects of proactive service robots on consumer perception and the overall shopping experience during the first moment of interaction. The findings reveal that service robots are perceived as intrusive, resulting in negative outcomes for both the store and retailer. Additionally, potential solutions to mitigate intrusiveness are suggested and proved effective. This second paper further compares between service robots and salespeople and demonstrates that proactive robots are considered more intrusive, which negatively impacts the retailer. Building upon the insights from the first and second papers, the third paper employs online experiments to examine how consumers process information from service robots and salespeople in a post-interaction context. The study finds that consumers perceive the information provided by service robots to be less comprehensive compared to that given by salespeople, leading to compromised interaction enjoyment and an overall negative shopping experience
Roten, Yonathan Silvain. „Sharing a screen while shopping : understanding the motivations and mechanisms of screen-Sharing : an application to shop assistants-customers interactions“. Thesis, Paris 1, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019PA01E024.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleSurfing on a screen to get information and to access the online shopping market is now a usual activity. While this browsing activity has been the subject of numerous research, they focus primarily on an individual practice, while the user is supposedly navigating alone on the device. However, sharing a screen while surfing together has become a frequent activity, especially in stores where shop assistants are equipped with digital devices (computer, tablet, smartphone ...), also in order to navigate with their customers. This thesis aims at understanding the new practices of interaction around a screen between customers and shop assistants in the stores. Its purpose is to identify the motivations of customers to be or to agree to be with a shop assistant on the same screen. In addition, it analyzes the screen-sharing practices and the most appropriate conditions for such sharing. Due to the lack of theoretical research on this subject, this thesis draws up a review of literature inspired by other disciplines. Thus, she opts for a multidisciplinary literature review, particularly drawing on research about collaborative processes around a computer in learning and work situations.Adopting a positivist epistemological framework, this thesis implements a mixed methodological approach of qualitative (observations and interviews) and quantitative techniques (based on a quantified projective approach), in order to better understand the determinants and mechanisms of this phenomenon.Different results have been highlighted. First, it shows that there are different modes of screen-sharing and that different motivations can explain the desire to share it. In addition, it emphasizes the most compatible conditions for such screen-sharing activities. For example, the acceptance or the desire to share a screen with a shop assistant appears to depend on the customer's perception of the shop assistant, and of the level of relational, technical and digital competences he attributes to him. Similarly, the situation in which this sharing occurs (atmosphere, type of device used, and more…) could also affect the customer's appetence to share a screen. The amplification effect that the screen plays in the relationship between the shop assistant and his customer needs also to be notified. Finally, this thesis highlights how social exchange norms as well as the customer's perception of his own power determine the customer's choice of a specific screen-sharing mode with the shop assistant.Regarding the implications of this research, it provides a better understanding of what motivates customers to share a screen with shop assistants and the mechanisms behind such a sharing. It also provides a frame of reference to assist shop assistants in their decision about with whom, when and how he could initiate a screen-sharing journey, aimed at improving customers' satisfaction and experiences in the store. In the actual "phygital" era, it allows to understand the interest of using a screen during an exchange between customers and shop assistants
Information Systems and Technologies (IST) are becoming fundamental for today's organizations, assuming itself as a critical factor in the economic development and in the creation of value. They are seen even as a fundamental requirement for the survival of organizations, either private or public. Portuguese municipalities are not an exception to this reality and since the 1980s have been adopting IST to transform and improve their internal operations and the way they interact with citizens and other stakeholders. City Councils are local authority organs whose mission is to implement policies which defend population needs and interests, through the provision of transversal and efficient services. Therefore, municipalities do now recognize IST as a key enabler for the delivery of better services and consequently to improve the quality of life of its citizens. Despite this view about IST is shared by all municipalities in general, each of them has started to use IST and has been implementing IST in very different ways, leading to differences in the IST maturity level reached by each municipality. This research study arises from the need to deeply know IST at local level. At the best of our knowledge there is no IST characterization framework focussed on local government that embraces a set of characterization items at infrastructural, applicational and functional level. It is appropriate in this context to conduct a study that aims to provide a detailed characterization of IST in municipalities, by developing a framework and an instrument, which was applied to the portuguese reality through a web questionnaire. The analysis of the results enabled the IST characterization at infrastructural, applicational and functional level. This characterization will provide policy and decision makers with valuable information to support their decisions.
