Electroretinography is the technique that allows the evaluation of changes in electrical potential that occur when the eye is stimulated by light. Such changes reflect the response of several retinal cells including photoreceptors (cones and rods). Thus it evaluates the retinal functionality and can diagnose abnormalities in retinas seem to be normal by ophthalmoscopy. Due to the constant evolution in veterinary ophthalmology, new centers of retinal electrophysiology have been introduced around the world either for early diagnosis of retinopathies or for preoperative evaluation of animals with cataracts and glaucoma, as well as for continuing research. The Ophthalmology Unit of the "Governador Laudo Natel" Veterinary Teaching Hospital, in the Faculty of Agronomic and Veterinary Sciences (FCAV) - Sao Paulo State University (UNESP) - Jaboticabal Campus, Brazil, supported by the Fundação de Amparo à Pesquisa do Estado de São Paulo - FAPESP (Sao Paulo State Foundation for Research), set up the Unit of Ocular Electrophysiology for animals in order to provide conditions for the diagnosis of retinopathies. As a pioneering venture in Brazil, the organization of the services faced many challenges till the moment it was set up: the organization and arrangement of appropriate rooms, independent electrical distribution for the installation of separate pieces of equipment, adaptation of containment tables, training and qualification of the staff, and the elaboration and standardization of anesthetic and stimulation protocols. The wealth of information generated by our experience gave us the inspiration to write this paper, which aims to contribute to the work of researchers and veterinary ophthalmologists in this new and opportune field of specialization.

The article identifies the need to analyze the risks of injury and health damage when using blacksmith equipment which is due to the implementation of the latest technologies for the successful economic development of the country, the introduction of a risk-oriented approach, as well as the implementation of international standards in all sectors of the economy. It was noted that international standards are based on the use of a risk-oriented approach in solving issues of safety and occupational health of employees. Therefore, this requires the implementation of new approaches and the formation of new relationships in particularly dangerous areas of production. The general state of occupational injuries and deaths of workers in Ukraine for the period starting from 2022 to 2024 (four months of the current year) is given. The given data indicate an increase in the number of accidents at work which is further complicated by the war. These data indicate an increase in injuries at work which is a bad indicator and the need to implement modern risk-oriented technologies in the metallurgical industry. Analyzing the situation in the metallurgical industry where blacksmith equipment is widely used it should be noted that the main causes of injury and death of workers are organizational. This proves that the risk management system at enterprises is imperfect and needs to be improved and brought into line with international standards. Scientific approaches to determining the risks of injury and damage to the health of workers (operators) when using blacksmith equipment are considered. It is shown that modern technologies of metal processing by forging as one of the methods of pressure processing, use more and more robotic complexes which have risks associated with the organization of work in the conditions of the probability of physical impact of their individual elements and substances on workers. The dangerous and harmful factors that accompany the work of operators when using the MKP10 forging manipulator are given. The operation of the MKP10 manipulator is considered as an example. Tables and diagrams of the manipulator are made in accordance with the DSTU ISO 12100:2016 standard. The calculation of the risk indicator of the MKP10 manipulator was also performed which showed that the risk is average in terms of its damage and probability indicators. This leads to the need to apply risk management to control such risk and reduce it to acceptably small values.

ABSTRACT East Asia Response Pte Ltd is an organization based in Singapore and funded by major oil companies to respond to Tier 3 oil spills in the Asia Pacific Region. We have a large stockpile of Oil Spill Response equipment including aerial dispersant spraying capability. The call up of this equipment is not frequent. However, the infrequent call up presents a major challenge to us. The key challenges are:Maintaining a very high level of safety awareness. Routine activities are mainly maintenance and equipment testing. It is a major challenge to maintain a continuous high level of safety awareness in this environment. All Responders need to be prepared for the harsh conditions when they are called out. Responding to an oil spill in heat and rain in the tropics can stretch human endurance to the limit. In Singapore, priorities and response strategies can also change rapidly. Additionally, there is the pressure to get the job done, sometimes working long hours. The key drivers to our safety program are Risk Assessment (RA) and personal health. The risks associated with each major or new task are analyzed and processes / procedures are put into place to minimize or eliminate potential incidents. Funding will be appropriated where needed. RA has helped us understand each task better and is a way of life in the Base. For example, an RA was conducted when we had to renew our berth fenders. The exercise identified the most suitable time to carry out the renewal from the tide tables, how to manage the risk of a passing vessel creating too much water disturbance and the coordination required between those working on the wharf and at the fenders. We started a program to train external personnel whom we would call upon to supplement our staff during an incident. We need to train these personnel to work to our safety standards. An efficient Responder needs to be healthy and fit. We organize various programs in the Base like health talks by a specialist, gym memberships and participation in national health events to help Responders keep fit.Developing training scenarios to maintain a high level of response readiness. We developed a list of realistic exercises around Singapore for our Responders to practice. These exercises give us the luxury of assessing scenarios during non-response period and developing strategies on containment and recovery. Some of the exercises completed are: the booming of Sentosa, a major tourist attraction, and other sensitive areas as well as night navigation exercises to familiarize our boat skippers with potential changes in sea conditions and a changing coastline due to major reclamation work in Singapore.

Today, the problem of greenhouse gas emissions into the environment is becoming increasingly critical. One of the key measures to combat this problem is the measurement and accounting of the carbon footprint of enterprises. Carbon footprint is the aggregate emission of all greenhouse gases generated by industrial production, including both direct and indirect emission sources. The calculation of the carbon footprint of the enterprise allows you to determine its impact on the climate and environment. The article proposes a mobile application with an automatic system for collecting data and calculating carbon footprint, which allows you to significantly simplify and automate the process of collecting and analyzing data, as well as increase the accuracy and reliability of results. Information about the latest calculations is stored in the database and is available in the application. The designed database of the mobile application for determining the carbon footprint contains 13 tables that are designed to store the history of user calculations, as well as tables with data on users, enterprises, workshops, equipment, transport, substances and fuel. This allows the enterprise to more effectively control and manage the carbon footprint, make decisions based on accurate and reliable information to reduce emissions and reduce the negative impact on the global climate. Once emissions are identified, the enterprise can take measures to reduce them and improve sustainability, such as measures to increase energy efficiency, use renewable energy sources, optimize logistics and other sustainable methods. In this context, the development of mobile applications to track the carbon footprint of enterprises becomes a powerful tool to promote sustainable development, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve the reputation of the organization.

Background: Ebola virus disease (EVD) health facility transmission can result in infection and death of health workers. The World Health Organization (WHO) supports countries in preparing for and responding to public health emergencies, which often require developing new guidance in short timelines with scarce evidence. The objective of this study was to understand frontline physicians’ and nurses’ perspectives about personal protective equipment (PPE) use during the 2014-2016 EVD outbreak in West Africa and to incorporate these findings into the development process of a WHO rapid advice guideline. Methods: We surveyed frontline physicians and nurses deployed to West Africa between March and September of 2014. Results: We developed the protocol, obtained ethics approval, delivered the survey, analysed the data and presented the findings as part of the evidence-to-decision tables at the expert panel meeting where the recommendations were formulated within eight weeks. Forty-four physicians and nurses responded to the survey. They generally felt at low or extremely low risk of virus transmission with all types of PPE used. Eye protection reduced the ability to provide care, mainly due to impaired visibility because of fogging. Heat and dehydration were a major issue for 76% of the participants using goggles and for 64% using a hood. Both gowns and coveralls were associated with significant heat stress and dehydration. Most participants (59%) were very confident that they were using PPE correctly. Conclusion: Our study demonstrated that it was possible to incorporate primary data on end-users’ preferences into a rapid advice guideline for a public health emergency in difficult field conditions. Health workers perceived a balance between transmission protection and ability to care for patients effectively while wearing PPE. These findings were used by the guideline development expert panel to formulate WHO recommendations on PPE for frontline providers caring for EVD patients in outbreak conditions.

The article attempts to assess the possible parameters of the state of mechanical engineering in Russia in the event of a significant increase in the export of its products provided for by the national project "International Cooperation and Export". The evaluation of the parameters is based on the premise that an increase in the export of engineering products will entail an increase in the volume of its production (provided that there is no decrease in domestic consumption) in the country, which in turn will necessitate a possible re-equipment and reconstruction of existing industries and the creation of new ones. In addition, increasing the output of competitive high-tech products will require increased R&D and the creation of related organizations. All this in total may require significant investment. Evaluation of hypothetical investments in the implementation of intentions to increase the export of engineering products was carried out according to the table of use of domestic products at basic prices from the Rosstat system of input-output tables. At the same time, the original table was transformed into a worksheet with the inclusion of the investment unit, as a result of calculations on which, apart from hypothetical investments equal to the difference between the initial and estimated values of fixed assets, the impact on the output of economic activities related to engineering was determined.

In general, the needs analysis models in educational management processes have four stages: the organizational screening stage, the data collection stage, the data analysis/interpretation stage and the action stage. During the organization screening phase, it is necessary to identify potential issues that will arise in the needs analysis and to clarify problems. It aims to be able to see the big picture, identify stakeholders, explore informal powers and influences, reveal opinions, see new trends, identify new sources, situations whose supports are against it, identify limitations. The data collection phase is the phase in which information is clearly focused. It is determined at this stage who, which officials, will be investigated. This stage is a more formal research process. The goal is to decide which people and groups to collect information from. Determining the needs analysis is actually a system intervention. This intervention can be characterized as preparation for change in the organizational system with the needs of the organization, goals, expectations of people, competencies needed by a person and an organization in a common cluster, or new equipment. When determining the method to be used, it should be aimed to obtain the data in the highest quality way. The data interpretation stage is the most important stage in the design of education. By categorizing the data, needs, problematic areas and deficiencies are determined. At this stage, non-educational needs should also be included in the data. While logical results are obtained with concrete data, intuitions, emotions, opinions can also produce results that support these results. A synthesis of concrete data and tables with information about new and different ideas can reveal fruitful results. At the action stage, the design of the training will also become concrete along with the reporting of the analysis of the collected data. This stage is the last stage that completes the whole process. Key Words: Educational Management, Educational Needs, Methods of Analyzing Needs

The paper focuses on the reasons for the lack of proper control of the operation of the electrochemical protective systems of sea vessels, such as the absence of convenient technical equipment, primarily the reference electrodes, as well as the imperfection of the silver chloride reference electrode. There is considered the approach to the development of easy-to-use reference electrodes. A standard silver chloride reference electrode was used as the first electrode; experimental electrodes made of a copper wire strand stripped of insulation were used as the second and third electrodes. The experimental vessel is docked in the commercial port of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The corrosion protection of the ship’s hull was evaluated by measuring the potentials between the metal hull and the reference electrode at a given point. The measurements were performed at a time interval from 06/10/2021 to 06/18/2021, evaluating the control of the hull corrosion protection was made by taking 50 successive measurements, which were entered into the control tables. It has been stated that the results of ship’s hull sacrificial protection control by using experimental copper electrodes from cabling comply with the regulatory requirements. The ship’s crew didn’t have any financial, organizational or technical problems, which could usually arise from the operation of standard silver chloride reference electrodes. It has been inferred that using regulated and non-regulated electrodes in the organization of corrosion control on ships and metal offshore structures is possible.

In today’s world, technology plays a critical role. It has become an integral part of our daily lives, and it has made our lives easier, more efficient, and more convenient. Because of this, automated systems have replaced paper-based systems in every company and corporate organization. It now allows companies to streamline their processes and keep track of their data effectively and accurately. That’s why the project Integrated Inventory Management and Asset Tracking System with User-Centric Computer Kiosk Interface was designed to help them automate their manual processes and will enable them to manage, organize, and store all items, equipment, purchase orders, and reports efficiently and accurately. The method used in this project is the Descriptive Research Method which provides the process of analyzing, classifying, and giving meaning to every piece of information gathered. The other one is the Developmental Method. The proponents used the Modified Waterfall Model because it provides an orderly sequence of development steps with some flexible iterative stages to facilitate the adequacy of documentation and design reviews to ensure the quality, reliability, and maintainability of the developed system. The proponents used the ISO 9126-1 Model for their evaluation of the system. They used this model as their software evaluation instrument, which contains criteria such as functionality, usability, reliability, efficiency, portability, and maintainability. The results of the evaluation are reflected in Tables 1 and 2, where the mean for end-users is 4.61 and 4.68 for IT experts.

In seismic safety assessments of nuclear power plants, it is important to determine the seismic capacity in terms of the structural strength and operative function of equipment. Since the revised regulatory guidelines for reviewing the seismic design of nuclear power reactor facilities in Japan requires dynamic analysis for vertical excitation, it is important to confirm the seismic capacity of equipment under vertical excitation. An overhead crane used in a boiling-water nuclear reactor building is a typical piece of equipment with low rigidity that is affected by vertical response amplification. A strong earthquake might cause nonlinear behavior such as sliding, or jumping and the resulting landing of the overhead crane, which may result in its derailing from the track. Accordingly, the Japan Nuclear Energy Safety Organization initiated a seismic capacity test program in Fiscal 2006. The program included two test series for investigating nonlinear behavior, structural strength, and validity of the structural retrofit against vertical excitation. The first test series was a preliminary element model test for investigating basic features, and focused on certain issues concerning nonlinear behavior under vertical excitation. The second test series was a shake table test of a 1/2.5-scale model with the same structure as an actual crane. This paper reports the test results obtained from the former element model test. We clarified the nonlinear behavior of an overhead crane under vertical excitation.

The correct determination of the energy efficiency (EE) of a complex system is a problematic task that requires the use of specialized methods and approaches. Most often, EE is considered as an indicator of the quality-of-service provision, which most fully corresponds to the technical and economic essence of this indicator. The structural and functional organization of the system of such indicators is carried out either on a bottom-up approach or a top-down approach, gradually deploying macroeconomic indicators defined at the system levels. This paper considers the tensor form of organization of the system of such indicators, which allows combining within a single model not only their organizational levels (economy as a whole, economic sectors, enterprises, technologies and equipment), but also the types of activities that reflect these indicators (energy, financial, economic, institutional, environmental, social, etc.), and the factors of changes in energy use (structural, technological, resource, managerial, regulatory, etc.). The paper presents the mapping of this model on the plane of structural and functional factors in the form of classification tables (matrices) of these factors (system elements). The paper describes the procedure for optimizing indicators, which can be carried out for each of these factors separately, their aggregate at each level and for the system as a whole, taking into account the need to implement iterative procedures for coordinating the global (system-wide) goal and local objective functions. Given the use of optimization variables measured in energy and monetary units, this problem is formalized within the framework of the set-theoretic approach. For the purpose of comparing the results, the paper examines the relevant provisions of the International Energy Agency methodology, which uses the direct method of three-factor Laspeyres decomposition analysis, and the Sectoral Methodology for Calculating Harmful Emissions of the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine. Keywords: Energy efficiency, energy efficiency indicators, system analysis, tensor approach.

Introduction. In construction enterprises are hundreds of types and thousands of names of low-value and perishable items (LVPI) and low-value non-current tangible assets (LVNTA), which require a more detailed study and a significant reduction of costs from the buyer to production consumption at a specific construction site. For every construction enterprise, it’s important to prevent the loss of these items and assets during their acquisition, transportation, acceptance-handover, storage, as well as to systematically control the level of costs for them, increase the duration of their use, and ensure optimal volumes of production consumption during business processes in construction This gives us reason to claim that the topic of our research is relevant and deserves attention.Purpose. The purpose of the article is the analysis of scientific articles devoted to the problems of accounting for LVPI and LVNTA in construction, directions for their solution, and the development of the authors’ own opinion and proposals for solving these problems. Method (methodology). During the study of this topic, the following methods were applied: monographic - for the purpose of studying literary sources on the accounting of LVPI and LVNTA in construction; regulatory and legal support - for the purpose of characterizing the genesis and current state of legislation in the field of accounting for stocks and fixed assets of enterprises; graphic - to establish the existing relationships between them and LVPI and LVNTA in construction enterprises of Ukraine, etc.Results. In a number of provisions of the Order of the enterprise “On the accounting policy of the enterprise”, more attention should be paid to LVPI and LVNTA, and for their list in the enterprise in general and its structural subdivisions, 2-3 appendices should be allocated. In Ukraine, it is expedient to introduce either a separate Ukrainian national standards on the accounting of LVPI and LVNTA, or Methodical recommendations or Regulations on the accounting of LVPI and LVNTA. In the “Methodical recommendations for inventory accounting”, a whole section should be devoted to LVPI and LVNTA, as it was once done in relation to containers (“Peculiarities of container accounting”). In practice, LVPI and LVNTA are often treated with a certain frivolity and the conditions of their storage and preservation are not sufficiently controlled both in the warehouses of enterprises and in production units. As a result, enterprises lose tens, hundreds of thousands of hryvnias, and sometimes much more. The nuances that arise in practice regarding business operations around the triad “LVPI and LVNTA and fixed assets” create a lot of doubts and cautions for accountants, which don’t contribute to a positive microclimate in the company’s accounting department. It is necessary to carry out timely documentation of all operations of the movement of material values and control over them, including control over compliance with the norms of the use of various types and names of LVPI, in particular: overalls (cotton, tarpaulin, rubber suits; overalls; cotton jackets and pants; rubber boots; signal vests), household equipment (buckets, shovels, rakes, brooms, scoops), tools (saws, scissors, hammers, vices, pliers, knives) canvases, keys, screwdrivers), stationery (printing paper, paper clips, buttons, ballpoint pens, pencils, rulers), office furniture (desks, computer tables, office cabinets, chairs and armchairs), personal protective equipment (PPE: respirators, gauze masks, rubber and canvas gloves, protective glasses, helmets, helmets), etc.Perspectives. In the future, it’s necessary to deepen and expand research on the accounting of LVPI and LVNTA of enterprises in the direction of specification by forms of ownership, organizational and legal forms, types of economic activity, taking into account the received foreign and Ukrainian experience on this issue, as well as research opportunities to significantly reduce costs for these types of material resources, primarily due to strengthening measures for their conservation, rational and multiple use.

Productivity level is one measure that determines the success of a company in competition in the business world. Important elements that can increase the total productivity of the company are labor, capital, production, organization and marketing where the most able element to provide the greatest benefits is labor. This study aims to analyze what factors influence labor productivity in the small industry of cassava chips in Kasarangan Village. Based on the research results, the small industry of cassava chips in Kasarangan Village is a simple economic undertaking where the management carried out is still traditional in nature, not yet followed by significant technological developments. The equipment used is still simple equipment and the use of equipment to carry out the production process is still dominated by human power, so labor productivity in the small industry of cassava chips is still relatively low. From the calculation of the coefficient of determination (R2) obtained a value of 50.9%. This means that there is a diversity of labor productivity that can be explained by the variables used. While the remaining 49.1% is explained by other variables not contained in the model. Factors that significantly influence labor productivity are time allocation with a t-count value of 2.423 greater than t-table (2.423> 1.696) with a sig value of 0.021 smaller than alpha (0.021 <0.05). While the factors of age, education, number of dependents, work experience, gender, and employment status (dummy) did not significantly affect labor productivity.

The article considers the results and methods of international comparisons of national income carried out in the CMEA from 1959 to1988. It is noted that the results of these comparisons were used for solving problems related to the organization of economic cooperation within the CMEA. This goal was consistent with the methodology of bilateral comparisons of the national income of the USSR with each other CMEA countries. The final results for each bilateral comparison were computed using the Fisher index formula. This procedure did not secure the transitivity of the results. Considerable attention was paid to selecting commodity representatives with prices for calculating purchasing power parities (PPPs). For this purpose, meetings of experts, who were well-versed in the technical characteristics of the selected commodity representatives, were convened: in some cases, commodity prices were adjusted to ensure their comparability. The biggest challenges emerged while securing price comparability for the following commodity representatives: machinery, equipment, and construction projects. The paper presents characteristics of GDP based on PPP comparison methodology carried out within the UN ICP framework. It ensured the comparison of UN ICP and the CMEA comparison methods. In particular, it is noted that GDP comparisons were carried out using multilateral methods of comparison, securing the transitivity of the computed indices. In addition to national income indicators of industrial and agricultural output, capital investments and consumption of the population were compared. The article contains two tables with results of comparisons of national income of the CMEA countries, which were initially classified.

The problem of ensuring the necessary quality and exploitation of the properties of machine parts is becoming more and more important in mechanical engineering. The main idea of the work consists in the development of a fundamentally new approach to the monitoring of a machine tool complex of mechanical processing, the essence of which is the organization of the method of controlling the mechanical processing process on the basis of a single integrated information environment adapted to the universal complex of computer modeling Matlab/Stateflow and Matlab/Simulink, with structural representations of all components of the mechanical processing process and modeling as a problem-solving tool that expands the functionality of machine tool complexes. However, until now, generalized theoretical relationships between surface quality parameters, processing accuracy, operational properties of parts and parameters of mechanical processing processes, which allow solving the problem of technological support of given operational properties of parts. Management of the process of forming a surface with the necessary properties is carried out mainly by using partial experimental dependencies and tables of processing modes. The complexity of the problem lies in the fact that when processing parts, it is necessary to establish such processing conditions that would provide a set of requirements for tool wear, processing accuracy, surface quality characteristics, productivity, etc. The areas of the most effective use of production systems are primarily determined by the technological equipment that is a component of the system, the nomenclature of processed parts and the automated control system. which allow to solve the problem of technological provision of given operational properties of parts.

Given the fact that the structure of import of goods and services of Ukraine dominates the products of the manufacturing industry, it became necessary to study the dependence of the Ukrainian economy on the production of this type of industrial activity. To do this, an estimation of the dependence of the Ukrainian economy on the use of the import of manufacturing industries in the manufacturing industry was made, in terms of the two key uses of resources – intermediate consumption products and gross fixed capital formation. The information base for such an assessment was the data of the tables “output-input”. As a result of undertaken a study certainly, that most the Ukrainian economy depends on the import of products of intermediate consumption of such productions of manufacturing industry: computers, electronic and optical products (» 90%); chemicals and chemical products (> 80%); machine building (> 80%); coke and refined products (> 60%); textile production, clothing, clothing, leather and other materials (> 60%). Along with the use of imports, the use of domestic production in the intermediate consumption segment has considerably increased in Ukraine. The intermediate consumption of domestic products of production: computers, electronic and optical products; grew at the highest rates; machinery and equipment, not attributed to other groups; textile production, clothing, leather and other materials production. The level of import dependence of the Ukrainian economy in segments of the gross fixed capital formation in manufacturing industries is » 85%. The highest level of import dependence of the Ukrainian economy in the segment of gross fixed capital formation (more than 90%) is characteristic for production products: computers, electronic and optical products; machinery and equipment not included in other groups; motor vehicles, trailers and semitrailers. Thus, the promising directions of import substitution in Ukraine relate primarily to the abovementioned industries. The hypothesis that for the implementation of import substitution in the Ukrainian economy, it is necessary for each of the identified directions, to carry out detailed calculations of the capacity of the target market segments (both internal and external), the volume of investments necessary for the organization of the corresponding production, their profitability and the payback period, as well as the number of newly created jobs.

Preparing and planning for disaster remains the most crucial component of libraries. It also happens to be one that is least understood. Since the existence of libraries and information science, there has been a history of disasters happening from time to time. Disasters are events in which no library would like to experience but the still do. Egerton University library being the study area, has experienced disasters in the form of rioting students causing service disruption and incidences of fire. This study sought to evaluate the disaster preparedness and planning of digital libraries in relation to service sustainability. It considered the following objectives: To establish the level of disaster preparedness and planning; To find out the training the library staff have undergone; To determine the disaster preparedness and planning equipment in place; and to establish the challenges faced in preparing and planning for disasters at Egerton University digital library in service delivery. It was anchored on the Theory of Planned Behavior. The study made use of descriptive research design and considered census method to arrive at 68 library staff as its respondents. Primary data was collected using self-administered questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale. The quantitative data collected was inferentially analyzed as per the objectives of this study. A statistical software SPSS was used in analyzing this data. Findings were presented in the form of tables as frequencies and percentages for easy understanding. The validity of the instruments was determined using specialists who assisted in properly framing questions in the questionnaire. They also assisted in realigning it according to the objectives of the study. The study established that the level of disaster preparedness and planning at the digital library in Egerton University was low hence the digital library was at risk of disasters; not all the library staff had not adequately undergone training on disaster preparedness and planning; the library was not adequately supplied with disaster preparedness and planning equipment’s; the digital library was experiencing challenges in regards to disaster preparedness and planning; and the digital library services will be affected in the event of a disaster happening. The study concluded that the digital library could experience disasters because they were not exempted from disasters like any other organization or section within the University; the library was not so keen on training its staff on disaster preparedness and planning; the digital library had inadequate disaster preparedness and planning equipment’s; implementing a disaster preparedness plan was hindered by lack of adequate funds which were needed for purchasing suitable equipment’s, servicing these equipment as well as training all the library staff. The study recommended that the management of the university and library should provide the needed support and influence staff training in regards to disaster preparedness and planning; the library should develop a well-documented disaster preparedness policy of its own and incorporate it with the overall disaster preparedness policy for the university; and a structured, systematic and regular mechanism of training staff on disaster preparedness should be developed, supported and implemented within the library.

Background In response to the Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) pandemic, in-patient units in hospitals around the world have altered their patient care routines and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) practices. Our interdisciplinary team of applied Human Factors (HF), ethnography, and IPC experts assisted one Unit, normally serving general surgical and orthopedic patients, as it rapidly converted to deliver COVID-19-specific care. This paper describes the conversion experience of the Unit, and outlines broader lessons for other acute care teams faced with similar issues. Methods We deployed walkthroughs, simulations, and ethnography to identify important safety gaps in care delivery processes on the Unit. These interventions were undertaken using interdisciplinary theories of implementation that combined systems-level HF perspectives, ethnographic approaches, and individual-level IPC perspectives. Timely recommendations were developed and delivered to Unit staff for feedback and implementation. Results We describe three interventions on the Unit: 1) the de-cluttering and re-organization of personal protective equipment (PPE); 2) the reconfiguring of designated ‘dirty’ tray tables and supplies; and 3) the redesign of handling pathways for ‘dirty’ linens and laundry. Each of these interventions was implemented to varying degrees, but all contributed to discussions of safety and IPC implementation that extended beyond the Unit and into the operations of the broader hospital. Conclusions Leveraging our team’s interdisciplinary expertise and blended approaches to implementation, the interventions assisted in the Unit’s rapid conversion towards providing COVID-19-specific care. The deployment and implementation of the interventions highlight the potential of collaboration between HF, ethnography, and IPC experts to support frontline healthcare delivery under pandemic conditions in an effort to minimize nosocomial transmission potential in the acute healthcare setting.

Abstract The aim of the study was to present plans (up to 2030) for the development of infrastructure and tourism activities in the Polish landscape parks located in the area of the State Forests’ administration. At the end of 2013, a survey was conducted the results of which were verified and their analysis completed in 2014. The questionnaire was sent to the directorates of all 122 parks. 70.5% of the directorates replied to the open question inquiring about their plans and demands for tourist activities (including educational tourism) and recreation. These were then correlated to parks in areas under the State Forests’ administration. The most commonly proposed/planned actions by the directorates in cooperation with the Forest Districts are: construction of new educational paths (in 41.9% of parks), maintaining the existing ones (24.4%) and the organization of tourism/recreation and educational events (22.1%). The largest share of proposed/planned actions without the cooperation of the Forest Districts comes from the creation of new routes/trails, parking lots, etc. along with their equipment (36.0%), construction of tourist infrastructure (bins, benches, tables, shelters, fire circles, sightseeing towers, bridges, 18.6%) and the issuing of maps, brochures, guides or other publications (17.4%). However, it is of particular importance to take the need for nature conservation in the development of tourism and recreation in areas of landscape parks into account. The literature provides a number of helpful solutions. Furthermore, such activity requires broad cooperation supported by external funds especially between the parks, Forest Districts and municipalities. It is also important to continue the environmental education of both, visitors and locals, as well as the promotion of eco-tourism and responsible use of the environment.

Agriculture is fundamental to Kenya’s development as anchored in the in the Bottom-Up Economic blue print and Vision 2030. Despite the increasing promotional attempts by marketers, manufacturers and even government agencies, agricultural production is marred by low outputs, low uptake of farm inputs such as fertilizer, quality seeds, equipment, chemicals, and reluctance in adopting new agricultural innovations. The presence of various marketing communication approaches, several information platforms, and financial incentives to the clientele notwithstanding, the uptake of farm inputs is still very low. The objective of this study was to describe the dynamics of integrated marketing communication platforms that are used by farmers in accessing information on agriculture. The Uses and Gratifications Theory by Katz, Blumler, and Gurevitch was adopted because of its ability to examine diverse media and communication channel preferences among audiences. The theory advances the use of alterative media platforms where traditional ones are not effective. The researcher relied on Mixed-methods in actualizing the study. Simple random sampling was used to get 259 farmers, while purposive sampling was used to select Agricultural Society of Kenya officials and agricultural extension officers. Six agro-dealers were randomly selected while quota sampling was used to get media personnel. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and focus group discussions. Qualitative and quantitative approaches were used in analysis and organization of results. Findings were presented descriptively and complemented by graphs, tables, percentages, and charts. This enabled the researcher to draw inferences that later informed the conclusions of the study which indicate that participants had access to multiple marketing communication platforms that they relied upon to access information on agriculture. The channels included both traditional and new media platforms such as radio, TV, SMS, interpersonal communication, and public barazas, which were effective in sharing information on agriculture. The study recommended the following; embracement of targeted marketing; empowerment of Agricultural field officers and increase collaborations with vibrant agricultural organizations; make use of integrated communication platforms that meet regional needs; utilization of social media to advertise; and finally, embrace continuous provision of agricultural information at all times.

From a broad perspective, a work environment can be defined as the location in which a task is performed. However, from an employment perspective, the work environment entails the physical geographical location of the job as well as its immediate surroundings (typically the tools and equipment required for the performance of the different tasks required for the job, work processes and procedures, quality of the air, noise level and any additional perks). As known, the work environment in an organization plays a crucial role in determining the productivity levels of its workforce and the organization’s ability to sustain these productivity levels and retain its workforce and may determine, how well the employees get along with the organization, the employees’ error rate/s and level of innovation and collaboration with other employees, levels of absenteeism, and ultimately, the duration of time the employee choose to stay with the organization. The purpose of this study was to determine how productivity levels among extension officers in the Ministry of Agriculture, Kilifi District have been influenced by their work environment. This was a case study which sought to identify the effects of the work environment with an aim of opening doors for further research on the same and recommending strategies for addressing the problems to ensure that the country (Kenya) becomes (once again) self sufficient in food production. At the time of the study, there were a total of 45 extension officers in Bahari District, which had just been annexed from Kilifi District. Due to the small number of officers, a census was done and all officers involved in a focus group discussion for triangulation purposes. This is because it was only through a census that more comprehensive and accurate information could be gotten. The data collected was analyzed for any causal-effect relationships, correlations and variances, by use of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), and the results presented in pie charts and tables to give a picture of the research findings at a glance. The findings on how the work environment influences extension officers’ productivity in the Ministry of Agriculture showed that extension officers feel that their work environment is not conducive to provide for job enjoyment and consequently enable them become productive in their work. It is thus safe to conclude at thispoint that, an overwhelming majority of the extension officers in the Ministry of Agriculture are not satisfied with their work environment, citing lack of sufficient work infrastructure, a large work area and a poor supervision system as their main reasons for dissatisfaction with the general work environment.

Three research questions were formulated to achieve the research objectives. The researchers adopted the combined paradigm or the mixed research design, administered questionnaires and solicited opinions through interviews. Descriptive survey was used by the researchers to seek and analyzed information from pupils and teachers’ of Social Studies in the Basic Schools in the West Mamprusi Municipality of the North East Region, Ghana. Ten (10) Basic Schools were randomly selected for the study. Thirty (30) Social Studies teachers, one (1) each from basic seven (7), eight (8) and nine (9) as well as sixty (60) pupils, two (2) each were selected from basic seven (7), eight (8) and nine (9) using purposive and random sampling respectively. The result of the findings indicated that most teachers of Social Studies do use ICT in the teaching of Social Studies. However, there are a number of challenges militating against their frequent use of ICT in the teaching and learning process such as the large nature of the classes they handle, insufficient time for the organization of ICT tools and equipment, financial constraint to purchase some ICT tools and equipment for teaching and learning purposes, and lack of support from school administration for ICT use. Based on these findings, recommendations were made that teachers should be orientated on the use of ICT tools and equipment through attendance of seminars, workshops and conferences and that government through Teacher Education Division of Ghana Education Service should support Social Studies teachers in the basic schools within the West Mamprusi Municipality financially for improved efficiency on their use of ICT to promote effective teaching and learning. Teaching time table should be flexible to allow teachers to organize fix ICT tools and equipment in their respective schools to bring about effective teaching and learning.

Palabras clave: base de datos, historias de captura, metadatos, R. For this purpose, we used a data set of images obtained with 10 cameras in the location of the Tehuacán-Cuicatlán Biosphere Reserve. camtrapR was applied to test the following objectives: organization and management of the photos, classification by species, individual identification, extraction of metadata by species and individuals, exploration and visualization of data, and export of data for analysis of occupation. The R code used in this work is available freely in line. According to our results, camtrapR is an efficient package to facilitate and reduce the extraction time of the metadata of the images; it is also possible to obtain the independent records without errors of omission or duplication of data. An occupational health hazard is any agent, substance, object, equipment, human behaviour or factor capable of injury, disability, disease or death in individual working in an organization. Occupational infections caused by transmissible agents like bacteria, virus, fungi, parasites and toxins produced by these organisms can be hazardous when contracted by abattoir workers in their daily practices. This cross-sectional study assessed the knowledge of occupational health hazards and preventive practices among abattoir workers in Anambra State. Simple random sampling technique was used to select one hundred and twenty abattoir workers from the two major abattoirs in Awka South LGA, Anambra State, Nigeria. A validated structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The split half method was used to obtain a reliability index of 0.73 using Pearson Product Moment correlation coefficient formula. The Chi-Square statistics was utilized to test the null hypothesis at0.05 level of significance and at the appropriate degree of freedom. Data regarding knowledge of occupational health hazards and the preventive practices against occupational health hazards were analyzed using frequency distribution tables and percentages. The mean and standard deviation of occupational hazard scores of the workers were 2.43 (2.93). The result showed that occupational hazards prevalent among these abattoir workers were of physical, chemical, biological, psychosocial, musculoskeletal and ergonomics in nature. Among the workers, 72.8% had a low level of knowledge while 27.3% had good knowledge of occupational hazards. 23.3% had good preventive practices while 67.7% had fair practice, Sex had a significant association with the level of knowledge (P<0.001) and practice (P=0.052) among the workers. The females had a higher level of knowledge than the males, while the males had a better practice of preventive measures than females. There is need to sensitize and organize trainings for abattoir workers to improve their knowledge and ensure proper control of occupational health hazards.

The article analyzes the economic history of the USSR, covering an important period of the history of Stalin’s economic model – the initial period of the Great Patriotic War (1941–1942). The main feature of the Soviet economy during the war was that already in the first months the USSR lost control over the most developed industrial areas. This situation required fundamental reorganization of the structure of the economy, when its main production capabilities were used to produce military equipment at the expense of reducing the output of civilian products. The losses of the USSR economy from the occupation of part of the territory are considered and it is shown that the USSR in 1941–1942 fought Germany and its allies, having halved mobilization and economic potential. The article analyzes the process of transferring the economy to the war economy, which required an increase in the length of the working day and the abolition of vacations, the introduction of the card system, and the relocation of plants to other territories. The structure of state administration bodies, changes in the organization of management and the position of its individual participants in it are studied separately. Tables are given and analyzed, giving an idea of the volume and dynamics of production of means of production in this period, the production of non-ferrous metals, the production of consumer goods, military equipment. It is shown that due to the low quality of military production in the Red Army a huge proportion of non-combat losses, which was primarily due to unrealistic plans. The situation in agriculture is examined, where the decline in productivity was due to a number of reasons, including the predominant mobilization of the population from rural areas with a minimum of reservations, the almost complete cessation of supplies of mineral fertilizers and agricultural machinery and, consequently, a sharp decline in the mechanization of work. The situation in the construction industry, in the work of railroad transport is studied. The calculation of the dynamics of national income for 1940–1942 years is given. Thus, in the initial period of the Great Patriotic War revealed the strengths of the Stalinist economic model and created in the 30-ies military-economic potential, high qualifications of the country’s leaders promoted in the last pre-war years. The greatest achievements of the Soviet economy in this period are associated with the record-breaking rapid transfer of the entire economy on military rails.

Familiarity with different instruments and understanding the basics of image guidance techniques are essential for interventional radiology trainees. However, there are no structured references in the literature, and trainees are left to “pick it up as they go”. Puncture needles, guidewires, sheath systems, and catheters represent some of the most commonly used daily instruments by interventional radiologists. There is a large variety of instruments, and understanding the properties of each tool will allow trainees to better assess which type is needed for each specific procedure. Along with understanding the tools required to perform various interventional radiology procedures, it is important for trainees to learn how to organize the room, procedural table, and various equipment that is used during the procedure. Minimizing clutter and improving organization leads to improved efficiency and decreased errors. In addition, having a fundamental knowledge of fluoroscopy, the most commonly used imaging modality, is an integral part of beginning training in interventional radiology.

It is grounded theoretical and methodological means of use of natural and programmable visual aids when studying the anatomy of domestic animals, in particular the organization of individual work of students in modern conditions and its place in the educational system of modern higher educational institution. The question concerning the methodological ensuring of the individual preparation of students was elucidated in conditions of credit system education and ways to solve it on an example of one of the normative discipline of curriculum of preparation the Master of veterinary medicine – anatomy of domestic animals. It is presented the educational and methodical developments on the organization of independent preparation of students on anatomy of domestic animals, including the use of colored programmable tables painted and electrified natural bone drugs of domestic animals: skulls, stands-training equipment of limbs bones, including scapula, shoulder, hip and other bones. By the originality of electrified colored preparation of the sagittal sawing of cow skeleton is that it is possible to study the structure of the various parts of the skull, spine, extremities at the same time features in the structure of the bones of these departments. In order to study the sections “osteology” and “syndesmology” and control interrogation of students at the department, are widely used also programmable stands – simulator of bones and joints of thoracic and pelvic limbs. The value of these stands – simulators is because it's natural anatomical preparations. These simulators are especially useful for students, to give them the opportunity to study and define all the details of the structure of bones and joints of the extremities of 4 species in no time. Next to osteological preparations were produced and implemented in the educational process the programmable training of the limb muscles, dry painted programmable preparations of the internal organs. These preparations make it possible to students to see life-size and topography of the internal organs, different colors and aggravate students' attention to certain parts of bodies. Attached to these drugs booklets with the label to them in Latin and Ukrainian languages enable students to learn the material on their own and to conduct self-control. So at the Department of Anatomy are widely used the programmable and electrified preparations of bone joints, muscles, natural dry painted preparations of internal organs for learning, self-training and knowledge control of students.
