Der volle Inhalt der QuelleLoss of control situations are innumerable (e.g., global pandemic, romantic break-up) and most often give rise to attempts to restore the perception of control. These attempts, in the form of often unconscious defensive strategies, restore meaning and predictability to events. Anthropomorphism, or the attribution of human traits to non-human objects including social robots, is conceived in the literature as a compensatory strategy for a lack of (perceived) control. This process would allow the application to robots of social scripts typically deployed in human interactions, making them more familiar, predictable and controllable. The objective of this thesis is to examine anthropomorphism as a compensatory strategy for a lack of control and its impact on acceptability. It is divided into two steps: 1. to identify the conditions of application of this strategy, 2. to examine the capacity of anthropomorphism to structure, give meaning and make coherent the social environment. To these ends, the thesis articulates three major concepts: perception of control, anthropomorphism, and acceptability of social robots. Using a scoping review and a state of the art, the acceptability of social robots and possible barriers to their adoption are examined. Then, the development and validation of a tool, a correlational pilot study and an experimental pilot study initiate the first relationships between these three concepts. In the extension, three experimental studies test in turn three types of operationalization of control (on life events, on the robot, on the task) and allow to identifysome causal links between control, anthropomorphism and acceptability of social robots. Finally, two experimental studies test the structuring quality of anthropomorphism. All these studies show that the perception of the social robot changes according to the type of control induced. Similarly, anthropomorphism (i.e., superficial aspects of the robot such as appearance, behavior, etc.) and anthropomorphization (i.e., essential aspects such as mental states, emotions, etc.) influence differently its usage intention. This set of studies raises practical, social, and ethical questions
Mazzocco, Clémence. „Facteurs de mobilisation des stratégies de compensation mnésique et de leurs efficacités dans le vieillissement“. Thesis, Montpellier 3, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015MON30087/document.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe general objective of this thesis was to study the impact of past resources of individuals on perceived memory compensation (Study 1 and Study 2) and on objective external memory compensation (Study 3). In order to operationalize the evaluation of perceived memory compensation strategies, Study 1 involved the French validation and normalization of the Memory Compensation Questionnaire (F-MCQ) of 749 participants aged from 18 to 92 years. In order to adapt this tool to different contexts, we created a shorter version (BF-MCQ) and conducted his validation on 260 participants aged from 50 years to 85 years in study 2. The results of these two works show a satisfactory internal validity for these two scales, and normalization reports an effect of age and gender on the perception of memory compensation strategies that an individual thinks that he use in everyday life. The external validity of these two scales showed the links between stress, self-memory efficiency and personality with the five compensation strategies measured by these tools. Our third study tested a) the impact of the personality trait "Openness" and of controlled processes on the use of external aid and on its effectiveness in prospective recall situation with 80 participants aged from 50 to 92 years and b) the link between behavioral observations of participants and their own perception of behavior during the experiment. The results show that only the controlled processes are involved in the mobilization of external strategies and in their effectiveness. Although seniors reported using external aids daily and frequently in the French Memory Compensation Questionnaire, we did not find this behavior to occur significantly in situation. In the end, these three studies allow us to consider the external memory compensation as a process that depends on self-initiation of cognitive resources, and to highlight the impact of various emotional and psycho affective factors in the perception that individuals have about their daily compensatory mode
Mereuta, Alina. „Smart web accessibility platform : dichromacy compensation and web page structure improvement“. Thesis, Tours, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014TOUR4032/document.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis works are focused on enhancing web accessibility for users with visual disabilities using tools integrated within the SmartWeb Accessibility Platform (SWAP). After a synthesis on accessibility, SWAP is presented. Our first contribution consists in reducing the contrast loss for textual information in web pages for dichromat users while maintaining the author’s intentions conveyed by colors. The contrast compensation problem is reduced at minimizing a fitness function which depends on the original colors and the relationships between them. The interest and efficiency of three methods (mass-spring system, CMA-ES, API) are assessed on two datasets (real and artificial). The second contribution focuses on enhancing web page structure for screen reader users in order to overcome the effect of contents’linearization. Using heuristics and machine learning techniques, the main zones of the page are identified. The page structure can be enhanced using ARIA statements and access links to improve zone identification by screen readers
Guidoux, Aymeric. „Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility“. Thesis, Université Paris-Saclay (ComUE), 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018SACLX122/document.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleAccording to the stakeholders’ theory, Corporate Social Responsibly is the firm’s response to increasing pressure from employees, shareholders, communities, environmental NGOs or regulators to consider the social and environmental consequences of their business activity. What is at stake, is not only a compensation of negative externalities but the adaptation and the participation of firms to a sustainable growth. In that sense, CSR is not just about being efficient but being the best and push firms to be proactive and go beyond legal requirements. But how manage objectives so various and even opposite? While firms start to integrate CSR into their global business strategy, at the top of the decision-making process, corporate governance appears to be the missing link to join economic, environmental and social objectives. This dissertation provides empirical and theoretical evidences of the determining factors involved at the high level of firms’ governance, from the board of directors to the CEO. After an introduction chapter, chapter 2 investigates the link between board composition and integrated CSR strategies. Adopted in 2011, the law targets listed firms and brought about the entrance of new directors, more likely to be women and younger than prior directors. However, we do not find evidence that this diversity is correlated to financial or extra-financial performance. For this chapter, we use a panel composed of French listed companies (SBF120 index) over the 2009-2015 period. If director’s characteristics are involved at the top of the decision making-process, the execution of the strategy and management of the firm is delegated to the CEO. Using variable pay, compensation part determined by performance objectives, the board aligns the CEO’s interests with his own interests. Chapter 3 shows evidence of the effectiveness of CSR based compensation part, labelled under the term “CSR contracting”. We show that the impact of such compensation depends on the governance structure. For firms who focus on shareholder, CSR contracting is more likely to have a negative impact on financial performance and no impact on extra-financial performance. On the contrary, for firms with a stakeholder model of governance, we show that CSR contracting is effective and have a positive impact on the environmental and social performance without impacting the economic results. This empirical work is conducted on a worldwide dataset with 3500 firms over the 2006-2015 period. Chapter 4 provides a theoretical framework to understand the role of governance factor on the efficiency of incentives. We develop a model based on Che et Yoo (2001) model to study the influence of compensation among a team of two managers who have to work on a CSR task. We determine the optimal compensation between three compensation mixes: both agents receive monetary compensations, both agents receive external rewards from their environment, one agent receives monetary compensation and the other receives an external reward. We show that the choice of the optimal compensation scheme depends on the environment outside the firm, i.e. the level of the exogenous reward, and the environment inside the firm through the level of the interdependence between the managers' decisions which corresponds to the capacity of the firm to create cooperation between the agents. Then, using evidence from executive compensation, we apply this model to the relationship between the CEO and the board of directors and find that the adoption of monetary incentives for CSR tasks is more suitable for firms with a high decisional interdependence than for firms with a lower interdependence. In conclusion, from directors’ characteristics to the overall governance organisation, we retrace the link between corporate governance and CSR integrated strategies; a link who could go beyond firm frontiers and include industry ties and peer effects
Jacquet, Thomas. „La fatigue mentale : marqueurs électrophysiologiques et stratégies de compensation“. Thesis, Bourgogne Franche-Comté, 2021. http://www.theses.fr/2021UBFCK006.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleMental fatigue is a common phenomenon in modern society, causing an alteration in both cognitive and physical performances. It can lead to an increased risk of accidents, a drop in productivity, and certain disorders such as depression. The objective of this thesis work was to study this phenomenon of mental fatigue by investigating more specifically its electrophysiological markers, and to find compensatory strategies to limit and/or avoid its deleterious effects. The first study identified brain activity modulations during a prolonged modified Stroop task. An increase in theta and alpha waves, as well as a decrease in N100 and P300 amplitude reflecting a decrease in attention were observed. The second study showed that the increase in the perception of effort during physical endurance exercise in the presence of mental fatigue was linked to an increase in the activity of the motor and premotor areas (during actual and imagined contractions). In a third study, we highlighted that the effects of mental fatigue were persistent over time. Performance during an arm-pointing task was increasingly impaired after the mentally fatiguing task, despite a recovery effect on the level of perceived mental fatigue. Finally, the fourth study showed that the use of compensatory strategies such as listening to pleasant music or practicing a physical activity for 15 min were effective in countering the effects of mental fatigue and maintaining the level of motor performance. This work showed that mental fatigue leads to changes in brain activity during a cognitively demanding task, and during subsequent physical exercise. Moreover, the phenomenon of mental fatigue seems to persist over time and increasingly impact performance. However, compensatory strategies such as listening to music or practicing a physical activity seem to be effective in counteracting its deleterious effects
Hérault, Paul. „L'internationalisation des chaînes de valeur dans l'industrie de défense : le cas du naval“. Thesis, Paris Sciences et Lettres (ComUE), 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018PSLED005.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleMany research works have already been dedicated to the internationalization of value chains. Whereas this research is often performed through macroeconomics or focused on civilian sectors, this thesis examines how the process of functional and geographic unbundling can apply to such a regulated sector as the defense industry, where exports are strictly controlled by states.Based on original data provided by Naval Group, this dissertation set out several estimates of the internationalization level of French navy programs. Although programs related to nuclear deterrence remain almost exclusively « made in France », many factors contribute to the internationalization of value chains in the naval industry: transfer of technology, local content requirements, integration of commercial or dual-use technologies, internationalization corporate strategies. Referring to the concept of modularity, this thesis reveals that changes in production process can foster innovation in product architecture
Kioua, Abdelatif. „Contribution à l'étude des stratégies de compensation d'un déficit anomique au moyen de gestes mimétiques“. Toulouse 2, 1998. http://www.theses.fr/1998TOU20045.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis falls within a research programme dealing with compensatory strategies adopted by the aphasic patients. In this context, our research work has the following specific characteristics : a) a description of the pantomime gestures compensation strategies used by two aphasic patients manifesting a naming anomia; b) a test of the limits of the gestural compensations adopted by both patients, using a typology of pantomime gestures; and c) an interpretation with reference to our model of cognitive processing, of the nature of the anomic deficit, of the way in which it might be compensated for by pantomime gestures, and of the effect which the pantomime gestural compensation might have on the anomic deficit. The results of the study lead as to conclude that : 1) the ability or inability of our two patients to compensate for their anomia by pantomime gestures could be determined by the nature of the referents involved; 2) the implementation of pantomime gestures within the context of anomia could be aimed at compensating for the reduced access to lexical phonological representations due to a reorganization of the central (conceptual and semantic) system; and 3) recourse to pantomime gestures has to a certain extent caused a lexical instantiation which appears to require a reorganization of the lexicalization processes

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleProgress in mechatronics has enabled the improvement of upper limb prosthetics increasing the grasps catalog. However, a gap has been growing between the prosthesis technological possibilities and the methods to control it. Indeed, common myoelectric control strategy remains complex, especially for transhumeral amputees who can have an active elbow in addition to a prosthetic wrist and hand. Since most transhumeral amputees have a mobile residual limb, an interesting approach aims at utilizing this mobility to control intermediate prosthetic joints, like the elbow, based on the shoulder/elbow coordination observed in healthy movements. This thesis investigates the possibility of controlling an active prosthetic elbow using the residual limb motion, measured with inertial measurement units, and knowledge of the human motor control. A primary focus has been targeting the reaching movement for which a model has been built using regression tools and kinematic data from several healthy individuals. The model, implemented on a prosthesis prototype, has been tested with 10 healthy participants wearing the prototype to validate the concept, and with 6 amputated individuals. These participants also performed the task with a conventional myoelectric control strategy for comparison purpose. The results show that the inter-joint coordination-based control strategy is satisfying in terms of intuitiveness and reduction of the compensatory strategies
