This article aims to analyze spiritualism education in the Quran. The discussion focuses on four sub-discussions, namely: (1) The meaning of spiritualism in the Quran; (2) spiritual aspects of the Quran; (3) methods of Quran spirituality; and (4) the implications of Quran spirituality. This literature review documents various books, journals, and other research results as data sources. The collected data were then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the concept of spiritualism in the perspective of the Koran is related to the world of the spirit, close to God, contains mysticism and interiority, and is equated with the essentials. Based on tracing the verses of the Quran, the three dimensions of spirituality in it are the dimension of transcendental, the dimension of norms, and the dimension of values. There are three methods of Quranic spirituality, namely tazakkur (remembrance of Allah), tafakkur (thinking about nature), and tadabbur (thinking about revelations or verses of Allah). The implications of the spirituality of the Koran are manifested in two terms in tasawuf spiritualism, namely al-maqāmat (the path to Sufism) and al-aḥwāl (the Sufi character).

Abstract. This article tries to explore the theological model of political spirituality in the context of terrorism in Indonesia. This search is done using the literature study method. In the process, the authors found that each age has a pattern or model of theology of their respective political spirituality. But in the present, by elaborating on the results of literature studies and paying attention to the context of terrorism in Indonesia and the historical journey of theological view of political spirituality in the church, the author shows that we need to pay attention to the five foundations of political spirituality theology, namely to realize a secular faith, promote moral values and political mediation, love justice and peace, serve the public interest, rule through service and love. These five foundations are expected to respond to various terrorism in Indonesia.Abstrak. Artikel ini mencoba menelusuri model teologi spiritualitas politik dalam konteks maraknya terorisme di Indonesia. Penelusuran ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode studi pustaka. Dalam prosesnya, penulis menemukan bahwa setiap zaman memiliki corak atau model berteologi spiritualitas politiknya masing-masing. Namun pada masa sekarang, dengan mengelaborasi hasil studi pustaka dan memperhatikan konteks terorisme di Indonesia serta perjalanan sejarah pandang teologi spiritualitas politik di gereja, penulis menunjukkan kita perlu memperhatikan lima fondasi teologi spiritualitas politik yaitu mewujudkan iman yang sekular, mengusung nilai-nilai moral dan mediasi politik, mencintai keadilan dan perdamaian, mengabdi kepentingan umum, berkuasa melalui pelayanan dan kasih. Kelima fondasi ini diharapkan dapat menanggapi berbagai terorisme di Indonesia.

Purpose: Existing literature has uncovered many benefits of spirituality in the workplace. However, building a sound theory of spirituality in the workplace requires testing its benefits in narrower contexts. We test spirituality’s effects on employees’ well-being and the company’s relationship with customers in the context of the retail industry in Puerto Rico. Design / methodology / approach: We developed a model using Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square. Then, we use the expert debriefing triangulation technique to assess the validity and reliability of our sample of 131 employees. Findings: This research shows spirituality in the workplace has positive effects on employees’ well-being and the company’s relationship with its customers in the retail industry of Puerto Rico. Originality: Our model links spirituality in the workplace with two variables of (Heskett et al., 1994) Profit Chain Value. Although our subject has been widely studied, literature in narrow contexts is needed to develop a unified theory. We contribute insight into spirituality in a narrow context plus a quantitative model to be used when large samples are unfeasible.

This article aims to analyze religiosity and spirituality's roles to prevent the impulsivity of buying. Impulse buying is an irrational, unplanned, spontaneous buying behavior aimed to seek pleasure and emotional fulfillment. The research method is a literature study of journals related to religiosity and spirituality in customer decision making. The study results concluded that several factors cause impulsive buying, such as less self-control, hedonic lifestyle, and materialism. Furthermore, there are significant roles of religiosity and spirituality in encouraging robust self-regulation to prevent impulse buying. The higher a person's religiosity and spirituality, the better they build powerful self-control for impulse buying. This research is expected to contribute research in consumer behavior with an approach of religiosity and spirituality.

Cases of violence and discrimination against marginalized people are a condition that still often occurs in our society. In this situation, the role of spirituality becomes something fundamental in helping this social challenge, as well as with Christian spirituality, how Christians can apply human rights in this issue. The discussion in this article uses qualitative research with a literature review approach. The results of the study show that mature Christian spirituality through the source, namely the Lord Jesus, is manifested by the work of the Holy Spirit to be able to understand and interpret every teaching of God's Word, then it is applied in behavior and actions. The values of Christian spirituality in respecting God, respect for others, justice and love are the basic human rights for church members against the marginalized. Christian spirituality must touch the church, family, and school segments to continue to form church members so that they have mature Christian spirituality so that they are able to apply it to the marginalized. AbstrakKasus kekerasan dan diskriminasi kepada kaum marginal merupakan sebuah keadaan yang masih kerap terjadi di masyarakat kita. Dalam situasi ini, peran spiritulaitas menjadi sesuatu yang fundamental dalam membantu tantangan sosial ini, demikian juga dengan spiritualitas orang Kristen, bagaimana orang Kristen dapat mengaplikasikan HAM dalam persoalan itu. Pembahasan dalam artikel ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka atau literture review. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukan bahwa spiritualitas Kristen yang matang melalui sumber yaitu Tuhan Yesus yang diwujudkan dengan karya Roh Kudus untuk dapat memahami dan menginterpretasikan setiap penagaja- ran Firman Tuhan, kemudian di aplikasikan dalam perilaku dan tindakan. Nilai spiritualitas Kristen dalam menghargai Allah, menghargai sesama, keadilan dan kasih menjadi dasar HAM bagi warga gereja terhadap kaum marginal. Spiritualitas Kristen harus menyentuh segmen gereja, keluarga dan sekolah untuk terus membentuk warga gereja supaya memiliki spiritualitas Kristen yang matang sehingga mampu mengaplikasikannya kepada kaum marginal.

Background: Aging is the final phase in the human life cycle; elderly people are at risk to face the problem as an impact loss of their roles. Objective: This study aimed to know that spirituality has an impact on providing the ability to face and accept the changes that occur with age. Methods: This literature review aimed to find out the benefits of spirituality for healthy elderly lives. Data Sources: This study searched articles published between 2010 to 2020, full-text and free articles. The search keywords consisted of “function” and “spirituality” and “elderly”. Review Methods: This literature review was conducted using analysis of the selected articles based on the inclusion criteria such full-text articles that were discussed about the benefits of spirituality for the elderly, published in the last 10 years. Result: Spirituality has an impact on influencing the incidence of depression; the main source of support for physical and psychosocial health, increasing self-awareness that they are no longer young and death will surely come for them; source of life force; coping strategies that help overcome difficult times in the elderly’s life. Conclusion: Spirituality has a positive impact on the elderly in terms of physical and mental well-being.

This essay focuses on the proliferation of diverse spiritualities in Victorian Britain in the second half of the nineteenth century, including Theosophy, neopaganism, spiritualism, and emerging occult practices. It makes the case that this proliferation of spiritual thought emerged not in opposition to, but rather in harmony with, the ascendancy of scientific naturalist frameworks in the wake of Darwinism, and that the flexibility of “spirituality” as a concept serves a crucial function for understanding this late Victorian religious landscape. As a (very brief) case study, it examines the fusion of the spiritual and scientific in Marie Corelli's late Victorian bestseller, A Romance of Two Worlds (1886). Her work, I suggest, highlights the key role of new popular genres of speculative fiction in navigating the boundaries between spirit and matter at the fin de siècle.

Latar Belakang: Kebutuhan spiritualitas merupakan kebutuhan dasar setiap individu untuk mencari tujuan hidup, memaknai hidup dalam mencintai dan dicintai. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisi hasil penelitian-penelitian tentang kebutuhan spiritualitas pada lansia dengan penyakit kronis. Metode: Metode yang digunakan adalah literature review, sebanyak 6 artikel yang didapatkan dari tiga sumber databased yaitu Google Scholar, Pubmed dan Microsoft Academic yang terbit tahun 2016-2020. Kriteria inklusi untuk pencarian yaitu studi yang dilakukan adalah lansia dengan usia ?60 tahun, lansia yang menderita penyakit kronis, artikel berbahasa Indonesia dan berbahasa inggris dengan desain penelitian deskriptif kuantitatif, serta free full text. Penggunaan kuesioner dalam penelitian menggunakan kuesioner SpNQ (Spirituality Needs Quesstionaire). Penilaian artikel diukur dengan menggunakan format JBI (The Joanna Briggs Institute Critical Appraisal tools). Hasil: Hasil analisi dari ke enam jurnal menunjukan bahwa tingkat kebutuhan spiritualitas pada lansia dengan penyakit kronis berbeda-beda diantaranya adalah kebutuhan keagamaan (religiosity), kedamaian (inner peace), kebutuhan eksistensi (existential) dan kebutuhan memberi (needs giving). Kesimpulan: Spiritualitas dapat menjadi sumber kekuatan pada lansia ketika menderita penyakit kronis, sehingga semakin tinggi kebutuhan spiritualitas yang terpenuhi, maka lansia mampu mencapai potensi dan kualitas hidupnya.

The author describes the formation of spirituality through spiritual practice. Spiritual practice gives people an understanding of how to realize God’s unlimited love for themselves in Jesus Christ who atoned for human sins through His death and resurrection from the dead. Spiritual practice is training one’s mind, spirit and emotions, so that one becomes closer to God, for example personal prayer, Bible study, fasting, Sunday worship, community cell seminars and service as part of the process of forming spirituality. The research method used for this writing is a qualitative method by observing experiences and reviewing literature. The analysis used is descriptive in nature with a study of practical theology. Through spiritual practice, believers will experience the formation of spirituality. Spirituality is a power that a person has to be able to have strength, goodness, holiness, obedience and sensitivity in Jesus Christ. Abstrak: Dalam perkembangan dunia modern saat ini, spiritualitas mengalami kemerosotan. Sebab tidak sedikit menganggap bahwa spiritualitas adalah hal tidak penting yang harus dimiliki sebagai manusia ciptaan Tuhan yang segambar dan serupa dengan Allah. Penulis mendeskripsikan pembentukan spiritualitas melalui latihan rohani. Latihan rohani memberikan pemahaman kepada setiap orang bahwa untuk mewujudkan kasih Allah yang tidak terbatas bagi dirinya sendiri dalam Yesus Kristus yang telah menebus dosa manusia melalui kamatiandi dan kebangkitan-Nya dari antara orang mati. Latihan rohani adalah melatih sebuah pikiran, roh dan emosi, sehingga menjadi lebih dekat dengan Tuhan, misalnya doa pribadi, studi Alkitab, puasa, ibadah minggu, komunitas sel, seminar dan pelayanan sebagai bagian dari proses pembentukan spiritualitas. Metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk penulisan ini ialah metode kualitatif dengan cara pengamatan, pengalaman, dan tinjauan pustaka. Analisa yang digunakan bersifat deskrisi dengan kajian teologi praktik. Melalui latihan rohani orang percaya akan mengalami pembentukan pembentukan spiritualitas. Spiritualitas adalah sebuah kekuatan yang dimiliki seseorang untuk bisa memiliki kekuatan, kebaikan, kesucian, ketaatan dan kepekaan di dalam Yesus Kristus.

There is a growing realization by the modern management think tanks that workspace spirituality has a definite role in improving performance and productivity while still ensuring employee engagement, motivation, commitment, and fulfilling his individual spiritual needs. Loyal personnel are the greatest treasured means to achieve a feat in the long run for any enterprise. Having committed employees enhances the competitive edge of any organization by lowering the rates of people leaving the organization and quitting their jobs. There has been limited work done to study the interplay of spirituality at the workplace and organizational commitment of employees how one correlates with the other. This work attempts to review the contemporary peer-reviewed literature on the association between workplace spirituality and organizational commitment. In this critical appraisal of contemporary literature, we look at the role of workspace spirituality in improving employee commitment. Our review looked at various measurable dimensions of workspace spirituality and employee commitment, which have been used by recent empirical questionnaire-based studies and their findings.

Success is everyone's dream, but not a few people retreat and even fail because they are not ready to face the process of achieving that success. Joseph is the son who is dearest to his father, but this makes his brother hate him. Joseph is a character in the Bible, and Joseph realized that all the thoughts of his brothers, all the difficulties he experienced, were solely in God's design, and God had a good purpose in the difficulties he experienced. In a sense, Joseph's personal spirituality determines how he can have an adversity quotient so that Joseph became a tough person in facing all the challenges of his life. This study aims to analyze personal spirituality and adversity quotient. The research method used is content analysis. Research questions: what is the relationship between personal spirituality and Adversity Quotient? and to what extent can personal spirituality make someone strong in AQ? The result showed that personal spirituality and adversity quotient is related to one another. Based on the text analysis, it was found that the relationship between personal spirituality and adversity quotient on content: personal spirituality that comes from family influence, personal spirituality that comes from character, Joseph's spirituality in facing challenges (family, female, wealth and power), and personal spirituality in the knowledge of God and understanding His plan thus forming his adversity quotient.

This research aims to describe and to define the importance of spirituality as a mediator in the global pandemic situation of COVID-19 in Pakistan while having positive correlation with resilience and inverse with hopelessness. The correlational research design was used and data was gathered by simple random sampling and there was a use of standardized psychological instruments to measure the variables. The participants were (N=540) Pakistani general population (male and female) with the age range of 18–60. The outcomes revealed that resilience was positively correlated with spirituality (r=0.72; p <0.01) while spiritualty is negatively correlated with hopelessness (r=-0.76; p <0.01) and resilience was negatively correlated with hopelessness (r=-0.78, p <0.01). Mediation analysis shows that spirituality performed a strong intermediating role between resilience and hopelessness the direct effect of hopelessness on resilience was -5.9** whereas the indirect effect through spirituality was -1.7** and the total effect size was – 7.6**. It is revealed that spirituality has a strong impact on the resilience behavior and reduces the hopelessness even in the worldwide disastrous situation. This study enhances the literature related to the psychological research and prompts the role of spiritual coping strategies especially in the state of uncertainty like coronavirus pandemic.

Spirituality is associated with quality and meaning in life. Conversely, religion is attributed to traditional values and practices related to a certain group of people or faith. Religion is guided by tradition, rules, and culture. Religion is defined as a personal set or institutionalized system of religious attitudes, beliefs, and practices. Religion is the service or worship of God or the supernatural. Faith is often associated with religion and spirituality. Faith is more personal, subjective, and deeper than organized religion and relates to the relationship with God. The concept of spirituality lacks a professional understanding. It is imperative that the holistic view of nursing must strive to understand the definition of spirituality.

People with mental health problem in Malaysia require access to spiritual care from their mental health services. However, the literature, which is dominated by Western scholars, brings the broad conception of spirituality into debate, which does not fit the paradigm of the religious worldview in countries such as Malaysia. This paper provides a narrative overview of the tensions inherent in the concept of spirituality as delivered in the literature. It begins a discussion on the place of spirituality in mental health care while highlighting the problematic concept of spirituality currently seen in the literature. In this study, it describes the spirituality of the Council Shepherd and its implications for the exemplary formation of Church members. This study uses the literature method to answer existing problems. This problem is related to the question, What is the impact of the spirituality of the Council Pastor and its implications for the exemplary formation of Church members? The conclusion of this research is that if the servant of God does not live his spirituality, this implies that he will find servants of God who cannot be trusted. In addition, it will have implications for members of the Church. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah Jika hamba Tuhan tidak menghidupi spiritualitasnya, maka akan berimplikasi akan menemukan hamba Tuhan yang tidak dapat dipercaya. Upaya menggali spiritualitas kerja Kristen menjadi sebuah kebutuhan yang mendesak dilakukan, bukan karena ingin menyaingi spiritualitas kerja yang saat ini sedang berlaku secara sekuler, melainkan sebagai bentuk pemenuhan panggilan misi orang Kristen untuk “menjadi saksi, memberitakan Injil, memuridkan segala bangsa.” Selain sebagai upaya pemenuhan panggilan misi Kristiani, hal ini turut membantu mereka yang menghidupi spiritualitas kerja Kristen untuk memiliki etos kerja berkualitas di tempat kerjanya, karena dikerjakannya secara produktif, mandiri dan rohani. Melalui metode studi kepustakaan maka disimpulkan bahwa entrepreneurship rohani di dapati sebagai pilihan tepat yang dapat memenuhi kriteria dan bentuk dari spiritualitas kerja Kristen yang dibutuhkan.

This study explores the relationship between religiosity, spirituality, and loneliness in the United States, using the 2018 General Social Survey to assess their interactions against a backdrop of declining traditional religious affiliation and a rise in “spiritual but not religious” identification. It examines religion and spirituality’s capacity to counteract loneliness, a condition with significant health implications. The analysis uncovers complex relationships between aspects of religious life and loneliness, showing no mitigating role of spirituality when controlling for other factors, with complex and varied negative relationships of religious service attendance and self-rate religiosity to different aspects of loneliness. Yet, any potentially protective effect of religion varies, with minority religious groups reporting feelings of increased loneliness. These findings underscore religion and spirituality’s nuanced roles in emotional well-being, indicating that their benefits (or not) against loneliness are complex, varied, and depend on the aspect of religion or loneliness observed, along with non-religious factors. The paper contributes to the literature on societal loneliness, changing religious and spiritual engagements, and highlighting the need for a comprehensive approach to explore the role of religion and spirituality in understanding loneliness specifically, and personal and social well-being more generally.

Despite the unique needs of those with serious mental illness, there has been little exploration of spirituality in the context of nursing care for this population. Lacking a well-defined concept of spirituality in psychiatric care, mental health nurses often struggle to provide optimal, holistic care. AIMS: The aim of this concept analysis was to review definitions and descriptions of spirituality in the psychiatric nursing literature to synthesize a usable definition to inform practice and provide a basis for future study. METHOD: Beth Rodgers’s evolutionary concept analysis method was followed to inductively derive a definition of spirituality in psychiatric nursing care. Steps included identification of the concept, setting, and sample; synthesis of key attributes, antecedents, and consequences from the literature; and a discussion of implications. A search in the psychiatric nursing literature (1998-2019) included literature reviews, case studies, concept analyses, qualitative interview studies, and quantitative survey research. RESULTS: Spirituality in psychiatric nursing was defined by attributes of a search for life meaning and purpose and a sense of connectedness. Spirituality in the practice of psychiatric nursing was a result of value-influenced thinking and a capability for interaction with others. Consequences included consolation and positive or negative coping. CONCLUSIONS: A clearly defined concept of spirituality in psychiatric nursing can provide a basis for clinical confidence for nurses in identifying patient spiritual needs and choosing appropriate interventions to support those needs.

Elsewhere (see “Bereavement, Grief, and Mourning in Death-Related Literature for Children” in this special issue) I have explained that as I prepared a series of annotated bibliographies on death-related literature for children and adolescents (Corr, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003a, 2003b), I realized that this literature was rich in many not-very-well explored topics. In particular, it struck me that themes related to spirituality often appear in this literature. Nevertheless, it does not appear that any formal studies of the spiritual dimensions that appear in this body of literature have been published in any of the major professional journals in the field of dying, death, and bereavement. In this article, I offer an initial attempt at rectifying that apparent gap in attention. I also hope to stimulate increased appreciation of this and other interesting facets of death-related literature that is intended to be read by or with children.

Abstract This article aims to describe how organizational spirituality has been dealt with in national and international research. Thus, a review of literature was carried out, based on a systematic search on literature on the Scopus and SciELO databases. The survey revealed 551 articles, but only 118 were available as full-documents. After reading the articles, 72 were selected for analysis. From the selected articles, seven major themes were identified and are covered in this article: factors that encourage spirituality to develop in organizations; the differences between spirituality and religion; the definition/concept of organizational spirituality; the benefits of spirituality for organizations; the dimensions of spirituality in organizations; the values of spirituality in organizations, and ways of identifying/measuring spirituality in organizations. In general, it was found that the theme of organizational spirituality is gaining momentum among academics and managers and can no longer be ignored. Although research performed until now has provided encouraging results, more research is required, including empirical research, in order to elucidate and consolidate an understanding of the theme, as well as its importance for people and organizations.

This study aims to explain morality and Pentecostal spirituality in Acts 2: 1-47. The research method used is literature review of Pentecostal morality and spirituality and Acts 2:1-47. The result is the first part of this article on the paradigm of Acts 2:1-47 which describes the charismatic empowerment of the Holy Spirit, the manifest manifestation of the gift, the mission in terms of spiritualistas. The second part addresses unique aspects of Pentecostal spirituality as a result of the paradigm of Acts 2:1-48. There is enormous literature citing the importance of workplace spirituality. This article focuses on the concept of spirituality and to understand its role in workplace using narrative review methodology. A few definitions of spirituality and workplace spirituality are examined and common features in those definitions are identified. Existing literature on why spirituality at workplace is vital is reviewed. The arguments against and for the workplace spirituality are expressed. The core purpose of the paper is to understand the concept of spirituality and how it manifests at the workspace, whether it should be nurtured or discouraged with respect to its impact on the employee and the organisation (consequentialist framework) or because of the individuals search for meaning, purpose, transcendence and divinity (spiritual-philosophical framework).The result indicate that spiritual-philosophical framework should be the primary reason for organisations to promote workplace spirituality. The reasons for, and implications of the same are discussed.

The economic theory has been rethought in the context of Christian economic ethics. A number of socio-economic researches (such as labor processes, the study of wealth and poverty features) have shown that within the existing paradigm of science it is almost impos­sible to explain their nature and patterns of operation. Objectives: To review the scientific evidence on the impact of health personnel spirituality during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methodology: Narrative and documentary literature review. Eight research studies were obtained from the Scopus, Scielo, PubMed and Web of Science databases. The spirituality variable was evaluated in health personnel during the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2022). Results: It was found that spirituality becomes a determining factor that helps to prevent and avoid the appearance of chronic and acute anxiety. Likewise, spirituality is perceived as a source of coping and stress reducer, associating it with the highest level of resilience whose effect on the recovery of emotional and mental health together with its coping in critical events is of great importance. Of the eight studies found, two of them evaluated spirituality with the FACIT-SP scale. There is little research on spirituality in health personnel whose characteristics could be adapted to other cultural and linguistic contexts. Conclusions: Spirituality is protective and leads to behaviors of greater resilience, its effects on the recovery of emotional and mental health, and its coping in critical events is very valuable, being important to promote its institutional application.

The hospice literature is promoting spirituality to its own detriment by alienating potential patients and depriving religious patients of the resources that religious traditions and their affiliated religious communities have to offer.

This essay analyzes the discourses of spirituality represented in Jane Eyre within the context of the Evangelical upheaval in the Britain of Charlotte Brontë's childhood and the mixing of supernatural with Christian elements in the "popular religion" of early-nineteenth-century British rural society. In addition to a dominant Christian spiritualism and a supernatural spiritualism, however, a third discrete discourse is identified in the text-the discourse of spiritual love. The novel stages a contest between these three competing discourses. Christianity is itself conflictually represented, being torn between the repressive, masculine Evangelicalism of Mr. Brocklehurst and the healing communion (among women) represented by Helen Burns and the figure of "sympathy." The supernatural is equally conflicted: it is shown to empower Jane and to be a necessary vehicle for bringing Christian discourse in contact with the discourse of spiritual love, but then it is denied and left, like the madwoman in the attic, as the excluded term. Finally, spiritual love is offered by the text as that which solves these contradictions, revising and merging Christianity and the supernatural to produce a rejuvenated spirituality, one that fosters what is conceived of as the "whole" person, her need for mutual human relationship, her spiritual needs, and her desire.

Abstract Literature documents positive effects of religion and spirituality on health including improved cognitive function, quality of life, and well-being. Extant research suggests that persons living with dementia (PWD) are more likely to have spiritual needs and rely on others to support their spiritual well-being than those without dementia. However, spiritual care is absent or minimally present in dementia care. To effectively address spiritual needs of PWDs, accurate screening and assessment is critical. We conducted an integrative review of the current literature on measures of religion and spiritualty for PWDs by searching five databases (ATLA Religion, CINAHL, PsychInfo, PubMed, and SocIndex) and identified 14 studies that were peer-reviewed original research articles focusing on assessment of religion/spirituality among PWDs and published between 2000-2020 in English. Most were conducted in Europe (n=7), included PWD in mild stage (n=68) from various settings, and were cross-sectional in design (n=8). Of a total of 17 measures identified, 6 were originally developed for the general population and then adapted for PWD, and only 3 were validated for PWD. A majority of the studies were limited in sample size, generalizability, methodological rigor, and measure validation. More research is needed using diverse samples and rigorous study designs to develop valid screening and assessment tools for this population. Improving religious and spiritual measures could greatly impact public health by improving quality of life for millions of individuals suffering from dementia and their caregivers who carry a heavy burden.

OBJECTIVE: To review scientific literature relating to the spiritual dimension of children and adolescents with cancer. METHODS: We conducted an integrative literature review in the LILACS, SciELO, PsycINFO and MEDLINE databases in the period between 1990 to 2011. RESULTS: Twenty-one studies were analyzed and grouped into thematic categories: quality of life and elements of spirituality; alternative and complementary therapies: spirituality as a therapeutic resource; spirituality as a coping strategy and spirituality as an attribute of existential transformations. It was found that spirituality is present at different stages of the disease experience and that its forms of expression may vary, according to age and cognitive development. CONCLUSION: There is a scarcity of specific scales for this age range and a need for scientific production relating to the spiritual dimension of children and adolescents with cancer. Workplace spirituality is a novel concept and it has been identified as a unique way to improve organizational performance. On the other hand, many organizations are experiencing undesirable consequences of lack of workplace spirituality, such as employee stress, turnover, absenteeism, and lack of employee creativity. Hence, organizations are now focusing on developing workplace spirituality in the workplaces as it offers many advantages to organizations. Despite the growing interest on workplace spirituality, there is still a dearth of research on the topic of workplace spirituality. Literature suggests that employee innovative work behavior directly leads to enhance organizational performance and workplace spirituality leads to increase innovativeness and creativity of employees. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to fill the gap in literature, to a certain extent by proposing a conceptual model to examine the effect of workplace spirituality on employee innovative work behavior. Thus, it proposed that there is a positive effect of workplace spirituality on employee innovative work behavior. Consequently, intrinsic motivation from componential theory of creativity was integrated to identify the mediating effect of intrinsic motivation on the effect of workplace spirituality on innovative work behavior.

The concept of spirituality has started being included in therapy settings due to the new paradigms showing developments in the world of psychology in the late 20th century and in the 21st century. When examining the literature, many articles and books are seen to have been published related to the topic, and most of the studies have been carried out abroad. These performed studies have contributed new concepts and information to the literature by revealing how the concept of spirituality can be integrated with family therapies. This study has been prepared for the purposes of drawing the attention of researchers who conduct studies in Turkey based on systemic family therapy and of specialists who plan therapy sessions based the relevant theory to the topic and to provide the literature with a topic that finds no examples in the literature of Turkey. How the concept of spirituality can be used in harmony with the systemic family therapy approach and what the techniques of the spirituality-based systemic family therapy are have been prepared by being based on the many studies that have been published abroad. Before beginning the study, theoretical information and basic concepts primarily about systemic family therapies are provided, and then it moves on to spirituality-oriented systemic family therapy by briefly mentioning the concept of spirituality. How the concept of spirituality can be applied to systemic family therapy and the points and ethical situations to which counselors need to pay attention are also mentioned. Lastly, sample cases are shared by providing information about the techniques of using religious stories and spiritual dialogue, these techniques being used in spirituality-oriented systemic family therapies.

The article investigates the significance of spirituality in the works of the Black Arts Movement poets. By examining the poetry of Amiri Baraka and Maya Angelou, the study uncovers the various facets of spirituality that African Americans embrace, including “Africanized” Christianity, jazz poetry, and Islam. The article aims to show if spirituality is merely a way to celebrate cultural diversity or a vehicle for social change. It draws on Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari’s theory of minor literature to demonstrate that the Black Arts Movement is a minor literature, whereby cultural markers such as spirituality are politicized. Because spirituality endows the Black Arts Movement with a political value and a collective enunciation, this movement becomes a revolutionary force that aims to enact social change. This politicized spirituality is symptomatic of a desire to foster a strong, positive bond with Africa, which is an antidote to the strangeness of mainstream society. The remembrance of the African past through Afrocentric spirituality is a tool for defining and redefining one’s sense of belonging. It is also a quest for an essentially black aesthetic.

Methodology: this is about an integrative literature review study accomplished in the databases HighWire, ISI Knowledge and Scopus in the last ten years (2000-2010) during the month of September 2010, using the keywords "coping, spirituality, nursing" associated. Results: the studies about spirituality and coping may provide for nurses and health care specialists a better understanding of how to help patients to face deseases, considering the religious, ideological and cultural needs of patients. Conclusion: of the 25 selected articles, two were in the database HighWire, two in ISI Knowledge and 21 in Scopus. The qualitative research prevailed (13 articles), followed by the descriptive (four) and reflective (three). The popularization of this theme in the health area and especially in nursing is of extreme importance for a more complete care to patients, since the knowledge that scope is very small and poorly publicized or assimilated by the nursing staff since his graduation until his practice. Metodologia: estudo tipo revisão integrativa da literatura realizada nas bases de dados HighWire, ISI Knowledge e Scopus nos últimos dez anos (2000 a 2010) durante o mês de setembro de 2010, utilizando-se as palavras-chaves “coping, spirituality, nursing” associadas. Resultados: os estudos sobre espiritualidade e coping podem dar a enfermeiros e especialistas em cuidados de saúde uma percepção mais profunda de como ajudar os pacientes a lidar com doenças, tendo em consideração as bases religiosas, ideológicas e culturais dos pacientes. Conclusão: do total de 25 artigos selecionados, dois estavam na base de dados HighWire, dois no Isi Knowledge e 21 no Scopus. Prevaleceu o tipo de pesquisa qualitativo (13 artigos), seguido do descritivo (quatro) e reflexivo (três). A divulgação desse tema na área da saúde e, principalmente, na enfermagem é de extrema importância para uma assistência mais completa aos pacientes, visto que o conhecimento nesse escopo é diminuto e pouco divulgado ou assimilado pela equipe de enfermagem desde a sua graduação até sua prática.
