This article aims to analyze spiritualism education in the Quran. The discussion focuses on four sub-discussions, namely: (1) The meaning of spiritualism in the Quran; (2) spiritual aspects of the Quran; (3) methods of Quran spirituality; and (4) the implications of Quran spirituality. This literature review documents various books, journals, and other research results as data sources. The collected data were then analyzed using content analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the concept of spiritualism in the perspective of the Koran is related to the world of the spirit, close to God, contains mysticism and interiority, and is equated with the essentials. Based on tracing the verses of the Quran, the three dimensions of spirituality in it are the dimension of transcendental, the dimension of norms, and the dimension of values. There are three methods of Quranic spirituality, namely tazakkur (remembrance of Allah), tafakkur (thinking about nature), and tadabbur (thinking about revelations or verses of Allah). The implications of the spirituality of the Koran are manifested in two terms in tasawuf spiritualism, namely al-maqāmat (the path to Sufism) and al-aḥwāl (the Sufi character).

Abstract. This article tries to explore the theological model of political spirituality in the context of terrorism in Indonesia. This search is done using the literature study method. In the process, the authors found that each age has a pattern or model of theology of their respective political spirituality. But in the present, by elaborating on the results of literature studies and paying attention to the context of terrorism in Indonesia and the historical journey of theological view of political spirituality in the church, the author shows that we need to pay attention to the five foundations of political spirituality theology, namely to realize a secular faith, promote moral values and political mediation, love justice and peace, serve the public interest, rule through service and love. These five foundations are expected to respond to various terrorism in Indonesia.

Purpose: Existing literature has uncovered many benefits of spirituality in the workplace. However, building a sound theory of spirituality in the workplace requires testing its benefits in narrower contexts. We test spirituality’s effects on employees’ well-being and the company’s relationship with customers in the context of the retail industry in Puerto Rico. Design / methodology / approach: We developed a model using Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square. Then, we use the expert debriefing triangulation technique to assess the validity and reliability of our sample of 131 employees. Findings: This research shows spirituality in the workplace has positive effects on employees’ well-being and the company’s relationship with its customers in the retail industry of Puerto Rico. Originality: Our model links spirituality in the workplace with two variables of (Heskett et al., 1994) Profit Chain Value. Although our subject has been widely studied, literature in narrow contexts is needed to develop a unified theory. We contribute insight into spirituality in a narrow context plus a quantitative model to be used when large samples are unfeasible.

This article aims to analyze religiosity and spirituality's roles to prevent the impulsivity of buying. Impulse buying is an irrational, unplanned, spontaneous buying behavior aimed to seek pleasure and emotional fulfillment. The research method is a literature study of journals related to religiosity and spirituality in customer decision making. The study results concluded that several factors cause impulsive buying, such as less self-control, hedonic lifestyle, and materialism. Furthermore, there are significant roles of religiosity and spirituality in encouraging robust self-regulation to prevent impulse buying. The higher a person's religiosity and spirituality, the better they build powerful self-control for impulse buying. This research is expected to contribute research in consumer behavior with an approach of religiosity and spirituality.

Der volle Inhalt der Quelle
Annotation:
Both overtly and subtly, the early twentieth century American author Willa Cather (1873-1947) gives her readers a sense of a spiritual realm in the world of her novels. '!'his study explores Cather's changing conceptions of spirituality and ways_in which she portrays them in three of her novels. I propose that though Cather is seldom considered a modernist, her interest in spirituality parallels Virginia Woolf's interest in moments of heightened consciousness, and that she invented ways to express ineffable connections with a spiritual dimension of life. In 0 Pioneers! (1913), Cather proposes that those who use their intuition to express themselves recognize and unite with a spiritual current that runs underneath and through all experience and natural phenomena. In The Professor's House (1925), Cather questions whether union with the spiritual current can endure, and doubts the ultimate value of such a union. In Death Comes for the Archbishop (1927), she suggests that recognition of this spiritual current comes and goes, and resigns herself to the need for spiritual traditions, such as Catholicism, to be able to sustain belief in the current, to sense it, and to value a union with it. All her life, Cather searched for spiritual meaning, expressed in her interest in the philosopher Henri Bergson, in connections between art and religion, and in the Episcopal Church. Cather's conception of spirituality changes, but the spiritual dimension of her novels commonly includes a sense of space, place, transcendence and ambiguity. Because the spiritual realm is beyond words, Cather uses juxtaposition and repetition to create an expansive, imaginative space that resonates silently through her stories. Powerful landscapes express the spiritual realm, and enhance characters' ability to recognize it. Awareness of this realm allows characters to transcend mental and cultural barriers and experience a common consciousness. Cather embraces darkness and contradictions as part of the spiritual realm, resulting in powerful ambiguities. As her spiritual vision changes during her life from exuberant to deeply reserved, these ambiguities become increasingly highlighted in her novels.

Annotation:
This thesis interrogates the interaction between feminist utopianism and altered states of consciousness in fiction from 1970 onwards. The thesis develops further both Lyman Tower Sargent's definition of utopianism as "social dreaming" and Tom Moylan's understanding of critical utopia. It also develops and expands Lucy Sargisson's definition of feminist utopianism as subversive, fluid, ambiguous and committed to ongoing personal and social transformation. Utopianism must challenge society's norms and values, offering both social critique and social vision. I argue throughout this work that transforming individual consciousness is a vital step towards social change. The thesis focuses on four altered states of consciousness: madness, dreaming, spirituality and telepathy. These states are situated within a theoretical context, and are then explicated further through close literary analysis of feminist utopian literature. Altered states offer a metaphor for the need to think differently, and highlight the importance of looking at society in new and alternative ways. In a significant number of feminist utopian texts, utopia is accessed through a dream or a vision, through spiritual meditation, telepathy, or a state of "madness". Within these texts, altered states are not only used as a means of accessing utopia but are also represented within the narrative as a means of maintaining or sustaining the utopian vision. Additionally, I show that altered states refers to the place of utopia, which is altered, or different to, contemporary society. The reader may also enter into an altered state through the process of reading the text, as their beliefs and assumptions about "the way things are" are challenged, denaturalised and subverted.

Sutcliffe, Joseph Andrew. „James Joyce's Dubliners and Celtic Twilight spirituality“. Thesis, University of Glasgow, 2006. http://theses.gla.ac.uk/5123/.

Der volle Inhalt der Quelle
Annotation:
My research is, as far as I am aware, the first reading of Dubliners as a specific and profound engagement with the ideas of the Celtic Twilight school. The recurrence of dreamlike states, such as ghostly visions and reverie, symbolizes aspects of an urban petit-bourgeois Catholic Irishncss excluded by Revivalist propaganda. Joyce earths popular notions of spirituality so that in their dreamlike states characters arc tantalized by glimpses of an evanescent world. He shapes such experiences in relation to similar moments in Celtic Twilight writing, delineating Dubliners' states of mind as an implicit rebuke to mythic ideal and romantic versions of Irishness, and suggesting a Dublin Otherworld to rival the one popularized by Yeats, A.E., Lady Gregory and Synge. Joyce reacts, too, against George Moore's brand of faux Naturalism which claims to present the 'real' Ireland in The Untilled Field. Joyce's project involves parody of privileged Celtic Twilight genres such as the fairy story, heroic legend, and folk song. The precise reactions in Dubliners expose the distortions of the apparently authentic Celtic Revival, which, for all its patriotism, is, ironically, unlrish since it is influenced by a genteel English sensibility. Such parody is complex in terms of mood since the wit co-exists with delicate psychological investigation and exploration of Dublin tribal consciousness. Against fashionable opinion, Joyce, in Dubliners, reclaims the city of Dublin as fit territory for literature and its citizens as capable of spiritual experience, however complex and potentially compromised this spiritual state might be.

Senior, John. „Spirituality in the fiction of Henry Rider Haggard“. Thesis, Rhodes University, 2004. http://hdl.handle.net/10962/d1002252.

Der volle Inhalt der Quelle
Annotation:
Neither an unquestioning support for British imperialism nor a personal pre-Jungian philosophy were the driving forces behind Rider Haggard’s beliefs or his literature. These two concerns were secondary to the author’s fascination with the supernatural, a theme prominent in his era, but less so in our own. A declining faith in European religion provided the dominant focal point in Haggard’s work. Although there are important overtones of imperial concern and indeed points of Jungian significance in the texts, these are generally subservient to an intensive wide-ranging spiritual discourse. The place of Haggard’s work in history and its literary merit are thus misunderstood when his spiritualism is not taken into account. No analysis of the author’s work can be complete without first coming to terms with his spiritual ideas and then with their impact on other topics of significance to both the author and audiences of his day. The spiritual or religious aspect of his writing has been largely ignored because of its subtle nature and its relative unfashionability throughout most of the twentieth century in the critical and intellectual climate of the Western world. However, in the Victorian era, under the materialist impact of Darwin, Marx and industrialization, Europe's Christian God was pushed from centre stage, creating widespread spiritual hunger and anguish. In the resulting religious vacuum Haggard's overtures were of particular significance to his audience. In fact, when considered in terms of his immense contemporary popularity, the pervasive presence of spirituality throughout Haggard's works and in his personal writing gives some indication of the subject's enormous importance not only to the author, but to late Victorian society as a whole. In light of this Victorian significance, the spiritual element rises, by its constant presence and persistent foregrounding, to subvert not only the imperial and the Jungian, but even Haggard's overt adventure text by dealing directly with the underlying metaphysical crisis in Western society.

Annotation:
Aging brings with it some limitations that become more pronounced with advancing age, and psychological, physical, behavioral, and social changes can reduce the quality of life of the elderly, who seek spirituality. Spirituality is a tool for coping with difficulties and attributing meaning to life, providing hope, faith, and motivation. This study analyzed the health aspects associated with spirituality in community-dwelling elderly people. This is an integrative review that synthesized the scientific production with the guiding question: What scientific knowledge production on health-related aspects are associated with better levels of spirituality in community-dwelling elderly people in Brazil? Articles with the descriptors in Portuguese and English were selected: spirituality, aged, and quality of life with the following inclusion criteria: published in full, available electronically, in Portuguese, English, and/or Spanish, published between 2015 and 2020, in the SciELO, LILACS, PubMed, and Capes Periodical Portal databases. A total of 130 articles were identified, and 15 were selected that presented evidence on the influence of spirituality on the quality of life of the elderly. After reading the articles, two categories of analysis emerged: I – The experience of spirituality in situations of chronic diseases, and II – The relationship of spirituality with the well-being/quality of life of the elderly. Most of the studies showed positive effects of spirituality on health outcomes, with better physical health conditions, quality of life, longer survival, lower rates of depression and lower prevalence of chronic diseases. In addition, it demonstrated the ability to withstand limitations and protect against stress in the face of changes in aging. Finally, the results indicate a positive influence of spirituality on the quality of life of the elderly. The importance of spirituality for health practices and the need to value it and include it in professional health training are highlighted.

Introduction: It is a growing theme, full of meaning and subjectivism, which increasingly demonstrates an important relationship with the quality of life and with various adaptive functions of the human being, including spirituality as a source of strength and resistance and greater resilience in the face of problems. health or difficult situations. For a broader understanding, it is essential to differentiate between spirituality and religiosity. Spirituality is a personal search for answers to existential questions, whereas religiosity encompasses a relationship, also personal, with God based on the rituals of a religion. Methods: The present work had a total of fifty members of the extension group Pastoral Universitaria linked to Unisul – Tubarão, which includes academics, university employees and members of the local community, religious or not. Results: the results showed a statistically significant difference between the total value of the spirituality questionnaire and the quality of life questionnaire (p= 0,0076), but there was no relationship between these values and the sociodemographic data. It can be seen, therefore, that higher levels of spirituality are closely related to better quality of life rates, when assessed through subjective scales. Conclusion: Therefore, it is possible to observe a strong correlation between spirituality and quality of life in the existing literature, which is no different in this research, therefore, the same alert about the importance of discussing the topic. Bringing it to the fore is a way of bringing faith and science together, fostering studies and increasing one’s interest in life.

The current literature has pointed out the existence of positive influences of spiritual and religious beliefs in cancer treatment. The study, promoted by the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research in Culture, Faith and Reason (NUCFER), sought to understand the conception of cancer patients and health professionals about the inclusion of spirituality in the treatment of people with cancer. Thus, the general objective of this project was to understand the meaning of spirituality for cancer patients during their treatment and how this experience can contribute to support human care and relationships between patients and the healthcare team. The research was qualitative, using the semi-structured interview technique. 06 (six) health professionals were interviewed, one Nursing Assistant, three Registered Nurses and two Doctors; and 05 (five) people who have already gone through cancer treatment or are going through it. In a total of eleven people interviewed, all stated that it is important to take into account the spirituality of patients undergoing cancer treatment, as it significantly contributes to the treatment and coping with the difficulties arising from this painful process, in addition to valuing the human person byseeing them beyond their disease. Thus, the research revealed that the spirituality of patients undergoing cancer treatment must be taken into account, respected and encouraged when they wish. Subsequently, ithelps to maintain the emotional health of these individuals in high suffering, to recognize themselves in their integrity as humans, to respect all their expressions of living beings in the world. This representsa humanized treatment and promotes dignity of the human person

Because of the Holocaust, World War II is the focal point for capturing spiritual experience in the 20th-century literature. How did the transformation of French spiritual literature from the poet Marie Noël in the 1st half of the century to the novelist Sylvie Germain at its end come about? Using examples from their work, this paper shows both authors’ sources of inspiration and highlights the means of expressing spirituality of a person going through an inner struggle. Although the authors describe a dark night, both of them they have a desire to overcome it, to reconcile with God, with the world and with themselves.

The article deals with the problem of the meaningfulness (essence) of the worldview journalism in the context of the argumentative resources of the work of influentive authors, for which the missionary role of the word is decisive. The search for meaning has been debated for centuries by orators, philosophers, psychologists, writers, sociologists, historians, journalists, and so on. In addition to other factors, a combination of the principles of worldview journalism and conceptual humanitarianism gives effective results. The author explores the acute problem of the effectiveness of a journalistic text through the prism of knowing the truth, meaning, since this is precisely where the source of wisdom is found; we are talking about spirituality, culture, historical memory. As influental authors proved with their arguments, the collection of facts is not enough, it is important to find the meaning of the existence of the individual, communities, and humanity. A number of examples show how the speakers of worldview journalism use all texts, not only from the archives: we are talking about poetry, art, in general, about literature, which revealed the most truth. Figuratively speaking, it is not only about the world of borders, it is important to consider horizons. Turning information into a commodity, focusing on “seasonal” interest based on the materialism of facts, or the inadequacy of many concepts and categories, the faking of media, relativity, obscurity of texts, anti-culture, in other words, the revolution of nihilism inevitably relativizes the very essence of journalism. If creative life is a manifestation of the freedom of the spirit, based on authentic truth, then we should strive to achieve the “extension of vision”, to master combinatorial (combinative) thinking. The ability to think in this way differs from ordinary logic in which the main universal thing remains in the center of attention, and the personality is not lost in individual details. Consequently, we can build a genealogy of ordered things and concepts, feel their inner relationship. Key words: meaning, worldview, journalism, argument, influence, moral principles, creativity.
