More than 6 million tons of the oil have been extracted in the Skybа Zone of the Ukrainian Carpathians. In particular, 4.2 million tons of oil (85.7% of total production) were obtained from the Yamna sandstones of Paleocene, which are characterized by satisfactory physical properties. Most of the areas of fields that exploited them are located in the Boryslav oil and gas production area. Among them are such oil fields as Skhidnytsko-Urytske (more than 3.8 million tons of oil extracted), Violeta, Faustina, MEP, Miriam and Ropne. Outside this area, oil was extracted in Strilbychi and Staraya Sol. At most of these fields, oil horizons are at a depth of only 100-800 m. The gas and condensate are extracted at the field of Tanyavа in the wing of the Vytvytska Luska of the Berehova Skyba, which has been torn off by the thrust. In addition, a very large number of natural oil and gas manifestations - direct signs of oil and gas potential - have been recorded in the Skyba Zone. All this indicates the potential prospects of structures within the Skyba Zone, including shallow ones. The distribution area of Yamna sandstones is much larger than the area of these deposits. The distribution area of sandstones of Yamna is much larger than the area of these deposits. It occupies about half of the area of Skyba Zone. Part of it can be considered promising, removing areas where of Yamna sandstones are present on the day surface, although, even in such conditions, they are in some cases industrially oil-bearing (Strelbychi oil field). Sandstones of Yamna are characterized by satisfactory reservoir properties., The calculated porosity and permeability reach the maximum values at known deposits: 0.182 and 130 ∙ 10–3 microns2 respectively, and the estimated thickness of 13.5 m. In the Folded Carpathians and, especially, within the north-eastern fragments (Beregova, Oriv, Skoliv) in different years performed a large amount of field seismic surveys. On the basis of the obtained materials, for the first time in the Carpathian region structural constructions were made on the reflecting horizons in the Paleocene (Yamna Formation) and in the Stryi Formation of the Upper Cretaceous. This article evaluates the prospects of these research objects. The Khodkiv and Osichnyanska structures of Berehova Skyba are recommended for conducting search works.

Skylark plots (unsown plots; 10–25 m2 per ha) in autumn cereal fields have had positive effects on Skylark density and reproductive success on conventional farms in Britain. We tested if the same effect could be found in organic farms in Sweden by comparing paired fields with and without unsown plots in similar settings. We found that the plots had no effect. Skylark density was only associated (negatively) with field size and not with occurrence of Skylark plots, vegetation structure, yield or weed harrowing. Number of clutches per territory was affected by yield (negative) and vegetation cover (positive) but not by Skylark plots. Number of fledglings per clutch showed negative association with yield and visibility through the sward. The amount of weed was larger near Skylark plots from the preceding year than in other parts of the field. The yield (and probably vegetation density) was lower on these fields than in conventional autumn sown fields, but still negative effects of the crop (yield levels) were found.

Abstract. Small satellites play an increasing role in earth observation. This article evaluates different possibilities of utilizing data from Planet’s SkySat and PlanetScope satellites constellations for derivation of digital elevation models. While SkySat provides high resolution image data with a ground sampling distance of up to 50 cm, the PlanetScope constellation consisting of Dove 3U cubesats provide images with a resolution of around 4 m. The PlanetScope acquisition strategy was not designed for stereo acquisitions, but for daily acquisition of nadir viewing imagery. Multiple different products can be acquired by the SkySat satellites: Collects covering an area of usually 12 by 6 km, tri-stereo collects and video products with a framerate of 30 Hz. This study evaluates DSM generation using a Semi-Global Matching from multi date stereo pairs for SkySat and PlanetScope, and the dedicated Video and tri-stereo SkySat acquisitions. DSMs obtained by merging many PlanetScope across track stereo pairs show an normalized median deviation against LiDaR first pulse data of 5.2 meter over diverse landcover at the test sites around the city of Terrassa in Catalonia, Spain. SkySat tri-stereo products with 80 cm resolution reach an NMAD of 1.3 m over Terrassa.

To assess the accuracy of remote, real-time mathematical simulations of wetness duration and air temperature, hourly measurements of wetness duration and air temperature at 18 sites in the United States and Canada from May to September 1995 were compared with simulations for these sites provided by SkyBit, Inc. SkyBit simulations of mean, maximum, and minimum daily air temperatures varied from on-site measurements by less than 0.7°C but underestimated the duration of wet periods by an average of 3.4 h/day. At five of six stations tested, SkyBit underestimates of wetness duration were significantly (P < 0.01) larger on days when no rain was measured than on rainy days, indicating that simulations of dew-period duration were much less accurate than simulations of rain-period duration. The vast majority of hours SkyBit misclassified as dry occurred either when entire wet periods were missed (59.3%) or when the onset of a wet period was detected late (28.4%). The results suggest that revision of SkyBit wetness-simulation models should focus on reducing error rates during dew events. In simulations using two disease-warning models, TOM-CAST and Melcast, with mean values of measured and SkyBit-simulated wetness duration, SkyBit-simulated values resulted in fewer and later fungicide spray advisories than did measured values. The magnitude of these impacts varied with the magnitude of the simulation errors and with differences in the models' decision rules.

Skyline query computes all the “best” elements which are not dominated by any other elements and thus is very important for decision-making applications. Recently, it is generalized toskybandquery and ak-skyband query returns those elements dominated by no more thank,of other elements. To incorporate the skyband operator into the stream engine for monitoring skybands over sliding windows, space usage estimation for skyband operator becomes a critical issue in the query optimizer. In this paper, we firstly introduce the skyband sketch as the cost model. Based on the cost model, we propose an approach for estimating the space usage of skyband operator over sliding windows of data streams under the assumptions of statistical independence across dimensions, no duplicate values over each dimension, and dimension domains totally ordered. Experiments verify that our approaches can estimate the space usage effectively over arbitrarily distributed data. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work that attempts to address the issue and proposes effective approaches to solve it.

For the first time in the Ukrainian Carpathians, the depths and tectono-sedimentation processes in the north-eastern part of the Outer Carpathian Basin (Skyba and Boryslav-Pokuttya units) have been restored on the base of sedimentological and microfaunistic studies. It was established that in the Cretaceous-Eocene time, the deep-water (near Calcite Compensation Depth) turbidite and similar sedimentation (turbidites with Bouma textures, grainites, debris-flow deposits), which periodically alternated with (hemi)pelagic sedimentation (red, green and black shales) was dominant here. Sedimentation took place on the continental margin of the the Carpathian branch of the Tethys, where deep-water fans were formed. Cretaceous-Eocene background red and green shales are enriched in buried in situ benthic foraminifera which are similar in taxonomic composition and morphological features to the microfauna of the Carpathian-Alpine and Atlantic regions (deep-water agglutinated foraminifera), which indicate lower bathyal – abyssal depths of flysch sedimentation. Latest Eocene Globigerina Marl horizon contains the foraminiferal assemblage with plankton dominance, which indicates a general shallowing of the Outer Carpathian Basin (middle-upper bathyal conditions above a calcite compensation depth). Oligocene – lowermost Miocene Menilite-Krosno and Polyanytsia formations were accumulated in the Skyba and Boryslav-Pokuttya sub-basins. In the Miocene, shallow-water molasses were accumulated here. Probably, the tectonic uproot of flysch deposits from its substrate and their synsedymentary thrusting towards the platform caused a significant shallowing of the Skyba and Boryslav-Pokuttya sub-basins starting from the latest Eocene. These processes reflected the growth of the Carpathian frontal nappes at the final orogen formation stage.

The SkySat-1 satellite lauched by Skybox Imaging on November 21 in 2013 opens a new chapter in civilian earth observation as it is the first civilian satellite to image a target in high definition panchromatic video for up to 90 seconds. The small satellite with a mass of 100 kg carries a telescope with 3 frame sensors. Two products are available: Panchromatic video with a resolution of around 1 meter and a frame size of 2560 &times; 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second. Additionally, the satellite can collect still imagery with a swath of 8 km in the panchromatic band, and multispectral images with 4 bands. Using super-resolution techniques, sub-meter accuracy is reached for the still imagery. The paper provides an overview of the satellite design and imaging products. The still imagery product consists of 3 stripes of frame images with a footprint of approximately 2.6 &times; 1.1 km. Using bundle block adjustment, the frames are registered, and their accuracy is evaluated. Image quality of the panchromatic, multispectral and pansharpened products are evaluated. The video product used in this evaluation consists of a 60 second gazing acquisition of Las Vegas. A DSM is generated by dense stereo matching. Multiple techniques such as pairwise matching or multi image matching are used and compared. As no ground truth height reference model is availble to the authors, comparisons on flat surface and compare differently matched DSMs are performed. Additionally, visual inspection of DSM and DSM profiles show a detailed reconstruction of small features and large skyscrapers.

These vessels showcase attention paid to psychological field research during the Cold War, a time when isolated confined environments and small group studies were funded under federal auspices for national defense purposes. These case studies challenge historians to re-evaluate existing definitions of the laboratory and of fieldwork, as their application to novel spaces in postwar social science research differed from prior uses of these terms.

The dramatic decline of the abundance of farmland bird species can be related to the level of land-use intensity or the land-cover heterogeneity of rural landscapes. Our study area in central Europe (Hungary) included 3049 skylark observation points and their 600 m buffer zones. We used a very detailed map (20 × 20 m minimum mapping unit), the Hungarian Ecosystem Basemap, as a land-cover dataset for the calculation of three landscape indices: mean patch size (MPS), mean fractal dimension (MFRACT), and Shannon diversity index (SDI) to describe the landscape structure of the study areas. Generalized linear models were used to analyze the effect of land-cover types and landscape patterns on the abundance of the Eurasian skylark (Alauda arvensis). According to our findings, the proportions of arable land, open sand steppes, closed grassland patches, and shape complexity and size characteristics of these land cover patches have a positive effect on skylark abundance, while the SDI was negatively associated with the skylark population. On the basis of the used statistical model, the abundance density (individuals/km*) of skylarks could be estimated with 37.77% absolute percentage error and 2.12 mean absolute error. We predicted the skylark population density inside the Natura 2000 Special Protected Area of Hungary which is 0–6 individuals/km* and 23746 ± 8968 skylarks. The results can be implemented for the landscape management of rural landscapes, and the method used are adaptable for the density estimation of other farmland bird species in rural landscapes. According to our findings, inside the protected areas should increase the proportion, the average size and shape complexity of arable land, salt steppes and meadows, and closed grassland land cover patches.

Declines in a number of farmland bird species in northern Europe have been linked to agricultural intensification. In this paper, we review the evidence for the effects of agricultural intensification on farmland bird populations using monitoring studies on a single well-studied species, the Eurasian Skylark (Alauda arvensis). Between 1970 and 1998, the Skylark population declined by 44% and this decline was greatest on farmland compared to upland or coastal habitats, yet during that time, reproductive performance per individual nesting attempt improved significantly. Skylarks consistently prefer relatively sparse (spring cereals) or structurally complex (fallow "set-aside"') crops, particularly late in the breeding season when crops that are too tall or dense are abandoned. Outside the breeding season, cereal stubble is the most preferred foraging habitat. Intensification has been characterized by decreases in preferred crops (spring cereals and cereal stubble) and an increase in unfavourable habitats (winter cereals, oilseed rape, and intensively managed or grazed grass). Reduction in the number of breeding attempts due to rapid sward development of winter cereals and the lack of suitable alternative habitats is likely to have been an important factor in the Skylark decline. The decline may also have been driven by decreases in survival outside the breeding season. Management regimes that include spring cereals, cereal stubble, and low-intensity grazing are likely to increase Skylark abundance and will benefit a number of other farmland birds. This review highlights the great value of large-scale monitoring schemes in understanding population declines. However, the factors affecting the post-fledging survival of Skylarks and the effects of crop diversity on Skylark abundance remain to be resolved. This research describes the growth of the Minneapolis Skyway network and aims to determine if the growth of the system has followed a predictable path. We hypothesize that the system expanded to the places in which it was valued the most. The point accessibility of each block lying within and adjacent to the connected system for each expansion year is calculated and used to predict the expansion of the Skyway System. In order to determine how often the expansion connected the blocks with higher accessibility, a connection-choice logit model relating the probability of joining the network (in a given year) to accessibility measures and network size was employed. The results disclose that accessibility is a significant explanatory factor of network growth. In accordance with the findings from the logit model, a network-growth simulation model was then developed on the basis of the strongest-link assumption (ie for a link to be constructed, it must be ranked the highest in terms of increasing accessibility between the two blocks it connects). The results show that the simulation model performs well in predicting the sequence of skyway additions on the basis of the myopic strongest-link assumption. This suggests that—although various physical, economic, regulatory, and legal factors may have played a role—accessibility remains an important factor in predicting which links are connected during the growth of the Minneapolis Skyway network.

In this article, the authors conduct verification analysis of projects of flying cars of various modifications such as SkyBlazer, SkyCar, etc., comparing flying cars of domestic invention such as LAV-1 and LAV-2; they give the main characteristics of these flying cars and based on patents for the invention of domestic scientists and engineers, give recommendations on the use of lightweight profile designs for the production of flying cars, give a general view of the equipment for the production of these profiles.

Program ini melaksanakan pembinaan kepada usaha rintisan (startup) baru dengan melakukan tahapan pelatihan manajemen kelola usaha dan pelatihan pengetahuan lain untuk membuat wirausaha pemula yang dapat berdiri sendiri berdasarkan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi. Kewirausahaan merupakan faktor penting yang dapat membantu meningkatkan ekonomi Indonesia. Total wirausaha Indonesia sekarang ini berjumlah rendah jika dibandingkan dengan negera lain, menempati posisi ke 94 dari 137 negara, salah faktor penyebab adalah pendidikan yang kurang memberikan dorongan pada mahasiswa untuk menjadi entrepreneurship. Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) berupaya mendidik para mahasiswa untuk siap menjadi wirausaha sejak duduk di bangku kuliah. Salah satunya dengan membuat tech incubator bisnis yaitu Skystar Ventures, yang merupakan inkubator bisnis teknologi terbaik di Indonesia dari KemenristekDikti sejak 2016, member dari Global Accelerator Network, Sillicon Valley dan memiliki akreditasi A. Telah banyak starup yang dihasilkan oleh Skystar. Skystar mengadakan kegiatan rutin untuk menjaring starup baru dengan setiap batch diadakan pendamping selama 6 bulan. Total dari batch satu sampai enam sudah ada 20 tim mahasiswa. Tentu jumlah ini dirasa masih sangat kurang jika dibandingkan dengan kebutuhan jumlah wirausaha yang harus tumbuh untuk mengejar ketertinggalan Indonesia terhadap negara lain. Disinilah dibutuhkan program lain untuk mengoptimalkan potensi yang dimiliki oleh skystar dan mahasiswa. Dengan menjawab permasalahn tersebut diatas diharapkan dapat membantu Indonesia meningkatkan mutu dan jumlah wirausaha baru demi peningkatan perekonomian dan kemandirian Indonesia. Program ini berhasil membentuk usaha rintisan sebanyak 5 buah dengan berbagai bidang kegiatan.

Skynav adalah mitra kerja di perusahaan Airnav Indonesia yang tujuannya memperjuangkan hak-hak karyawan . Seleksi calon ketua Skaynav melibatkan unit Telnav, Listrik, Operasi, Keuangan, Personalia Umum dan Komunikasi Penerbangan dengan ditunjuk langsung oleh setiap pimpinan unit, kemudian masing-masing calon akan dipilih dengan pemungutuan suara untuk menjadi ketua Skynav. Seleksi calon ketua selama ini dirasa kurang objektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis dalam seleksi calon ketua berdasarkan penilaian objektif terhadap kompetensi mereka. Kriteria yang digunakan untuk seleksi adalah pendidikan, ketrampilan manajerial, keahlian, kedisiplinan dan kepribadian serta subkriteria dan sub-subkriterianya yang membuat proses penilaian menjadi kompleks. Metode yang digunakan Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) yang mampu menangani tingkat kompleksitas dari kriteria. Penilaian tingkat kepentingan dari setiap elemen kriteria diperoleh dari hasil kuisioner yang diisi oleh masing-masing pimpinan unit. Hasil analisis yang diperoleh menunjukkan nilai numerik obyektif yang memuaskan masing-masing kandidat dimana irianto 0.84, Hidayat 0.83, Supriadi 0.62 dan Simon 0.74.Nilai tertinggi dari hasil analisis ini dijadikan rekomendasi kepada pimpinan unit untuk diusulkan menjadi calon ketua Skynav.

Five variations of TOM-CAST and two sources of weather data were used to schedule tomato early blight control for research trials at the Snyder Research and Extension Farm, Pittstown, N.J. TOM-CAST scheduled fungicide applications were initiated at 15, 25, or 35 disease severity values (DSV) and resprayed at 15 or 25 DSV. Weather data for generating the DSVs was obtained on-site with a Sensor Instruments Field Monitor™ or through subscription to the electronic meteorological service SkyBit, Inc. Bravo 720, 3 pints/acre, was used for disease control. Foliar disease, yields, and postharvest decays were evaluated. Daily DSVs, cumulative DSVs, and forecast spray schedule varied with weather data source. Because SkyBit data generated more DSVs during the season than Field Monitor data, the SkyBit-based forecasts called for one or two more sprays than the Field Monitor-based forecasts. However, the number of sprays actually applied was the same, one more or one less for each combination of initiation and respray thresholds. All treatment schedules reduced disease compared to the untreated control. Variation in initiation threshold did not affect disease control. All TOM-CAST schedules respraying at 15 to 20 DSV were as effective as the weekly schedule. All fungicide treatments increased total yields and reduced postharvest decays compared to the untreated control. Most treatments also increased marketable yields. The most efficient, effective Field Monitor-generated TOM-CAST schedule required nine sprays compared to 13 weekly sprays. The comparable SkyBit-generated schedule called for 10 applications. Chemical name used: tetrachloroisophtalonitrile (chlorothalonil).

AbstractThis paper seeks to establish an intellectual context for the periplous of Pseudo-Skylax (probably written in or near Athens in 338 to ca. 337 BC). The unknown author is aware of the work of contemporary natural philosophers, including those in the post-Platonic Academy and those who were to form the Peripatos, especially Aristotle, Theophrastos and Dikaiarchos. Among known writers, Dikaiarchos is most likely to have written the periplous; but the case remains unproven. Doubts are also raised as to the validity of the so-called periplographic genre.

The increasing use of biomass for energy production is reshaping landscapes into energy landscapes. Our study aims to analyze the impact of the biogas energy landscape on the abundance of Eurasian skylark. The biogas power plants have a high impact on the landscape, because of the energy crops like silage maize and rape. We analyze land-use and land-cover heterogeneity in connection with this bird species in the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein. Three databases are used: abundance data of a typical farmland bird (Eurasian skylark), Corine land cover, and statistical land-use data from the German Agricultural Structure Survey. Several spatial analyses and statistical analyses were conducted. Generalized linear models are used with model averaging and predicted marginal effects were calculated. We estimate the changes in individuals per km2 by considering six crop types and the Shannon Diversity Index (SDI). The Eurasian skylark abundance has a significant negative correlation with the area of the inland wetlands, the Shannon Diversity Index (SDI), permanent crops, silage maize, and rape. We found significant positive correlation with the pasture, potato, and wheat. The replacement of pastures, Eurasian skylarks’ preferred habitat, with energy crops, mostly silage maize, and the ongoing homogenization of the landscape, negatively affected this species’ distribution in the study area.

Numerous new Solar System objects, mainly asteroids, are still detected nowadays but their physical and dynamical characteristics remain not accurately determined, until dedicated observations and analysis are made. However, the Virtual Observatory is a perfect framework to search for this characterization by data mining. We are developing two studies for this goal by exploring the DENIS infrared and DFBS spectroscopic surveys. In order to scan the survey catalogues and to search for Solar System objects, we have developed a VO compliant workflow founded on the use of a recent VO tool labelled SkyBoT (Sky Bodies Tracker) (Berthier et al. 2005) and on the VizieR service provided by CDS. A public version of SkyBoT is implemented in the sky atlas Aladin since January 2006. It allows us to quickly get the precise coordinates of the asteroids, planets and natural satellites in any star field, provided we know its center, its size and the precise date of the exposure (between 1949 and 2009). Our data mining workflow performs cone search queries on SkyBoT and VizieR to extract all the known astronomical objects observed by the survey. Then the sources which are detected in the survey are correlated with the known objects to determine the matched and unmatched objects.
