In current economic time where service business is booming, providing high quality and quick service to customers has become one important way to achieve business excellence by many world-class companies.GRUNDFOS Group is one of the leading pump manufacturers in the world. Although it is defined as a traditional industry, Grundfos implement modern concepts and technologies to make it everything but traditional in business management. Grundfos aim to develop, produce and sell highest quality pumps and booster systems to the world in order to create a healthy environment and bring up the living quality for human beings. The purpose of this study is to investigate how Grundfos provide an effective solution to an OEM customer who has a complaint about motor noise in the pump. Grundfos run a project of quality improvement for rusty bearing noise from the motor by using Six Sigma DMAIC approach. By applying the logic and the improving method from Six Sigma, Grundfos anticipate an excellent effectiveness in the working process, and therefore increase the company’s competitive edge in the business. The investigation shows that from the start, Grundfos define the issue of the complaint clearly through an understanding of customer voice and an analysis of feedback from the market. The issue is then transformed to a critical to quality (CTQ). Process mapping (SIPOC) and data from measuring system are used to verify the issue. By using analyzing tools for root cause analysis, the key input which really affects the process output is expected to be found. Based on the results from above analysis, an action to improve the heating temperature of motor stator is implemented with an aim to ensure the motor stators are totally dry and hardened in the lacquering process. This action solves the rusty issue completely. As a result the motor return rate drops from 114 units per year to 0 unit per year, which is a dramatic saving for Grundfos as they would have to pay a credit cost around NTD28 million and sales order around 6,000 units per year (NTD90 million) if this quality issue could not be resolved successfully. In order to prevent the same issue from happening again, Grundfos make a process management plan and use drawings to indicate all control points in the lacquering process.

It is more competitive for current enterprises. How can enterprises make their product or service to get market sharing in this kind of situation? Six sigma was started by Motorola in twenty years ago under strong competition. After twenty years, most of our domestic enterprises starting to learn this kind of approach to improve their process which makes certain improvement of their products and services . In this research, the company of case study was starting six sigma approach over four years. In this period what impact of six sigma make IT changed and what difficult IT faced? This research used case study to take single company case and take multiple IT six sigma project. Get information via project material and other document to understand how about the performance of IT six sigma project and what difficult IT faced. Hope this research can help those company who want to start six sigma to refer and avoid to face same problem to help to get benefit from six sigma more.

Lean Six Sigma was combined with Lean Production and Six Sigma, Lean production attention to customer needs to plan and measure product manufacturing, complete elimination of non-value-added waste, shorten processing time, Six Sigma is a statistical method using analysis of variation in the manufacturing process, reduce the defect rate of products. Lean Six Sigma to Six Sigma's DMAIC steps architecture, then lean as possible to improve the production and application of the various stages of integration and make the best use of the advantages of both methods, we will be able to meet and achieve customer satisfaction, low-cost high quality and quick response thereby creating maximum value for the enterprise. Therefore, this study will be a key factor in the application of Lean Six Sigma to improve methods of introducing green energy motor car motor manufacturing process as an example, by collecting the voice of customers to confirm improvement targets, in order to identify problems and influence the cause, identify key quality characteristics of fuzzy theory assessment of inaccurate measurement data process output performance and use characteristics to be due diagram analysis bad a process of reason, reuse Taguchi experimental design method to find the best process parameter combination, the last control chart as the monitoring process of the practices and establish standardized operations processes to maintain product quality and increase competitive advantage.

As time goes by, consumers have more and more expectations about qualities,and corporations are also pay more attention to their quality management initiatives.Recently, Six Sigma becomes a considerably popular quality improvement system.And at the same time, there are many successful cases for the application of Six Sigma in practice, such as GE and Motorola. The main motive of this study is as follows: Frist, this study aims to a car assembly factory(hereinafter referred to as car assembly company). Data produced by the quality management systems. This research combines the business intelligence(BI)and the tools in each level of DMAIC. The purpose of this research is to help users find and solve the problems of Six Sigma projects through the simple Six Sigma tools. This research uses business intelligence (BI) to construct the Six Sigma DMAIC model. DMAIC can save users’ time when executing Six Sigma. Moreover, it also has the simplest way to let users find out problems through analyzing process by using its tools.
