Abstract Modern Chinese confirmative shi (as in mei cuo, wo shi yao dusi ni (沒錯，我是要毒死你) ‘that’s right. I really wanted to poison you to death’) is not an auxiliary but an adverb. It derives from the adjective shi ‘true, real’ in Old Chinese (Yan zhi yan shi ye (偃之言是也) ‘what Yan said was true’). The grammaticalization pathway of the Modern Chinese confirmative shi is different from that of the copula shi (Laozhang shi huoche siji (老張是貨車司機) ‘Laozhang is a truck driver’) or the auxiliary shi (Laozhang shi kai huoche, wo shi kai keche (老張是開貨車，我是開客車) ‘Laozhang drives a truck and I drive a coach car’). Modern Chinese confirmative shi, copula shi, and auxiliary shi have the same morphological form because they all appear to derive from the adjective shi or demonstrative ( shi ke ren, shu bu ke ren ( 是可忍，孰不可忍) ‘if this could be endured, is there anything else that could not be endured’) in Old Chinese. Such a pattern of morphological sameness seems to be cross-linguistically rare, if not unique.

Abstract By rejoining several fragmentary slips in the Shanghai Museum *Shi Liu wen yu Fuzi manuscript, this article seeks to adjust the order of the existing bamboo slips as well as to clarify the meaning of the text. On this basis, and through a comparison with transmitted texts, the identities of the main characters “Shi Liu” and “Master” in the bamboo manuscript are discussed. We find that the words, deeds, and thoughts of “Shi Liu” and “Master” bear certain similarities to “Shi Qiu” and “Confucius” as recorded in literature.

ABSTRACTThis paper assembles three oracle-bone inscriptions divined at the same time from the Wu Yi-Wen Ding period. Two are identical, being a paired divination inquiring into whether the event ri yue you shi was or was not auspicious. The third asks whether, in light of this ri yue you shi, it would be auspicious to sacrifice to Shang Jia.Since 1925, when Wang Xiang , first proposed th at the character yue should be read as xi, his position has been accepted by Liu Chaoyang De Xiaoqian , Chen Mengijia , Zhang Peiyü , Xu Zhentao , the Zhongguo Tianwenxue jianshi bianxiezu , and the Zhongguo Tianwenxueshi zhengli yenjiu xiaozu Yue was first interpreted as yue in 1933 by Shang Chengzuo . Those subscribing to this reading include Dong Zuobin , Chen Zungui , Yü Xingwu Liu Chaoyang, Chen Mengiia, Joseph Needham, Zhao Quemin and Chen Banghuai .Among these scholars Liu Chaoyang holds that “there is no distinction between xi and yue,” while Chen Mengjia believes that the phrase “ri yue you shi” can also be read “ri xi you shi,” hence they accept both interpretations.

Besides, morphological illustrations of Xizicus (Eoxizicus) kulingensis (Tinkham, 1943) are provided. The type specimens are deposited in the Museum of Hebei University, Baoding, P. R. China.

Annotation:
The Sixteen Kingdoms was a period of political disintegration in medieval China. Foreign rulers of Wu Hu (“Five Barbarian Tribes”) captured the northern China during the 3rd – 5th centuries and established independent states through continuous military actions. This thesis aims at studying the relationship between the emperors and Buddhist monks in the Northwest empires in the Sixteen Kingdoms Period, including the Former Liang (320-376), the Western Qin (385-400; 409-431), the Later Liang (386-403), the Northern Liang (397-439) and the Xia (407-431), by developing a theoretical model called “Hourglass Model”. The model provides a holistic framework for investigating not only the emperors’ changing attitudes towards Buddhism but also the dissemination of the Dharma by monks. In addition, the concept of “data visualization” is implemented to re-interpret various historical sources. The complex interaction among imperial clans and Buddhist practitioners is further analyzed with computer-aided historical research methods. This thesis hopes to reveal the inspiring nature of the political religion in China’s early medieval age and expand the scope of Chinese Studies by rethinking about foreign rulers and Buddhist monks’ roles in reshaping and vitalizing the Chinese civilization. Moreover, this study develops alternative approaches to the research on the history of Chinese Buddhism, and attempts to shed new lights on theories and research methodology.

Esta nota de clase tiene por propósito brindar a los estudiantes y futuros profesionales de la salud y a los colegas que acompañan este proceso educativo algunos elementos claves para el desarrollo y análisis de los determinantes sociales y de la salud, así como su afectación en la salud de los individuos y colectivos. El abordaje de esta temática se desarrolla paso a paso, en articulación con temas y contenidos vistos previamente en el curso. Es necesario que el estudiante recuerde el significado de salud dado por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), con el fin de vincularlo a los antecedentes investigativos, donde se relacionan la pobreza, la desigualdad y su impacto en la salud de las personas. Los modelos de determinantes sociales se usan para argumentar las causas de esa desigualdad social. De este modo, se amplía el horizonte conceptual a través de la explicación de cada uno de los determinantes sociales definidos por la OMS, mostrando sus interacciones. El desarrollo investigativo permitió concluir que los estudiantes logran identificar los determinantes sociales en una comunidad, aplicar un modelo para argumentar sus puntos de vista, e identificar la situación de salud y los riesgos personales y socioeconómicos tanto de un individuo como de una comunidad. Mediante el desarrollo de este tema, el estudiante fortalecerá su capacidad de analizar críticamente los determinantes sociales en cualquier contexto social y la afectación en la salud de individuos y poblaciones.

Las cuestiones referidas a la adhesión de los países de menor dimensión a los programas de integración han sido objeto de discusión, análisis y acuerdos, desde sus inicios en diversas partes del mundo. Esas cuestiones han tenido, y tienen, distintas facetas. Una, referida a los resultados del respectivo proceso para cada uno de los países intervinientes que, por razones entendibles, revisten especial significado para los de menor dimensión. La literatura de la integración se ha ocupado extensamente de este tema con referencia a programas de integración encarados en diversos ámbitos geográficos. Otra, es la que tiene que ver con su participación en la adopción de decisiones en el respectivo marco de integración. Y, quizás antes de ello, se encuentran las motivaciones que han llevado a esos países a comprometer su participación en determinado esquema. El Instituto para la Integración de América Latina y el Caribe (INTAL) programó una publicación que recogiera, de entre los muchos casos existentes, los referidos a la participación de los países de menor dimensión económica en el proceso de integración europea, formalizado con la firma del Tratado de Roma, y de Uruguay, uno de los dos países menores miembros del MERCOSUR.

Nuestra exploración comienza con una mirada retrospectiva, donde desentrañamos las páginas doradas de la historia de Luxor. Desde su distinguido papel como la capital del Imperio Nuevo, entre los siglos XVI y XI a.C., hasta su posterior influencia durante los períodos helenístico e islámico, esta ciudad ha sido el epicentro de la política, la religión y la cultura egipcias. Sin embargo, nuestro objetivo va más allá de la mera narración histórica; nos adentramos en el corazón mismo de Luxor para analizar su tejido urbano con ojos críticos y perspicaces. Desde los albores de su existencia, exploramos los orígenes y antecedentes de esta metrópolis, sumergiéndonos en su geografía, su historia natural y su rica herencia cultural. A continuación, nos sumergimos en las profundidades de su estructura urbana, desentrañando las complejidades de sus subdivisiones territoriales, sus redes de comunicación y sus puntos de referencia icónicos. Acompañados de ilustraciones y mapas, revelamos los secretos enterrados en sus calles y plazas, en sus templos sagrados y en sus bulliciosos mercados. Finalmente, nos detenemos a contemplar la majestuosidad física y formal de Luxor, explorando su traza urbana a lo largo de los siglos, sus distintos géneros y tipologías arquitectónicas, así como los materiales y sistemas constructivos que dieron vida a sus monumentos y edificaciones más emblemáticas.

El presente artículo busca plantear la necesidad de una legislación específica para los bienes digitales, cuya importancia se vio aumentada a propósito de la pandemia del Covid-19. En primer lugar, se desarrollará de forma indagatoria la clasificación de los bienes digitales, contrastándolos con los bienes incorporales. Luego de esto, se realizará una reflexión breve acerca de la regulación vigente en Chile y se argumentará sobre cómo ciertos bienes no logran incorporarse a la legislación actual. Posteriormente se examinarán las diversas consecuencias y el impacto que ha significado el intercambiar estos bienes en Chile y otros países, sintetizando los recientes cambios comerciales y los efectos de la pandemia como catalizador de la economía digital. Finalmente, se problematizará respecto de la importancia de los bienes digitales, sobre todo en contexto de pandemia y del porqué en el futuro existe una clara necesidad de legislar al respecto.

Desde mediados de los años 90 Colombia inicio su proceso de apertura económica firmando diferentes acuerdos y convenios comerciales como oportunidades para beneficiar a los pequeños y medianos empresarios. Es así como surge el interés de hacer una revisión de los aportes que generan éstos al sector manufacturero. Es un estudio de tipo exploratorio mediante la revisión de datos académicos, con el objetivo de construir un panorama del contexto de los acuerdos de libre comercio para los empresarios del sector manufacturero y si éstos proporcionan beneficios para la actividad productiva. Los acuerdos de libre comercio brindan oportunidades significativas para los empresarios amplíen sus negocios y accedan a mercados extranjeros. Al eliminar las barreras comerciales y los aranceles, estos acuerdos crean un campo de juego más equitativo para las empresas de todos los tamaños; es relevante hoy en día reconocer la importancia de los empresarios que aprovechan estas oportunidades para hacer crecer sus negocios y aumentar sus ganancias de manera exponencial. El aumento de la competencia y la innovación son otros beneficios que los tratados de libre comercio ofrecen a los empresarios; cuando las empresas tienen acceso a mercados más grandes, se enfrentan a una mayor competencia, lo que puede generar una mayor innovación y una mejor calidad del producto, esta competencia puede conducir a precios más bajos para los consumidores, lo que puede aumentar la demanda de productos y servicios. Ante las exigencias de un mercado global, el éxito de los empresarios depende de su capacidad de innovación y de adaptación.

El propósito de este estudio es identificar los riesgos que afectan a la financiación de los proyectos de infraestructura y examinar sus vías de mitigación, todo ello con especial referencia a las economías en las que la intensidad de algunos riesgos está actuando como factor determinante de la escasez de capital privado. En el primer apartado, referimos el catálogo de riesgos y analizamos su importancia para el desarrollo de los proyectos. En un segundo apartado, abordamos la cuestión de la mitigación de los riesgos, con referencia a los mecanismos de corrección de ingresos para repartir mitigar los riesgos de los concesionarios y a los modelos en los que el plazo de las concesiones es abierto. En el tercer apartado, se trata el tema de la separación de las distintas actividades de los contratos de concesión, mientras que en la última sección, se presentan las conclusiones.

El artículo parte de la premisa que los países de Centroamérica requieren una reforma tributaria porque el tamaño del Estado es demasiado pequeño para que puedan cumplir con sus funciones de proveer los bienes públicos que requiere el desarrollo económico liderado por el sector privado. El estudio constata que, en América Central, tanto la recaudación tributaria como los gastos públicos totales y en educación y salud son inferiores a lo que se esperaría si uno toma en consideración el nivel de ingreso per cápita -e incluso su pobre distribución- en los países de la región. Una de las razones por las cuales el crecimiento económico ha sido insatisfactorio es justamente porque el estado no ha podido cumplir con sus funciones esenciales de proveer niveles básicos de salud y educación a su población.

El documento presenta, de modo sintético, cinco resultados de una investigación cuyo objetivo fue analizar la autopercepción que tienen los tutores sobre los efectos de su participación en un proyecto de tutorías remotas llevado a cabo en México (Tabasco y Guanajuato), El Salvador y Guatemala. Se buscó comprender en esta si los tutores se auto percibieron como eficientes para poder enseñar matemáticas y si lograron generar una relación tutora positiva. La metodología aplicada en el estudio fue mixta, teniendo como instrumentos: una encuesta aplicada a un total de 258 tutores participantes de los pilotos (de entre 299) y dos grupos focales con personas tutoras de El Salvador. De modo general, puede concluirse que los tutores se percibieron a sí mismos como eficaces; construyen y valoran la relación tutora; reconocen la importancia de las habilidades blandas; poseen mejor percepción de sí mismos; y, notan un cambio positivo en sus propias capacidades docentes.

Salvo en los casos de los países mediterráneos, los ferrocarriles de los países del Cono Sur, con muy pocas excepciones, no fueron tendidos pensando en su interconexión o en el comercio con países vecinos. Sin embargo, a mediados del decenio de los años 1990, a raíz de: (i) la adopción de políticas de apertura económica junto al proceso de integración regional que se impulsara en el marco del MERCOSUR; (ii) tasas elevadas de crecimiento económico en varios países; y (iii) un mayor dinamismo empresarial por parte de algunos ferrocarriles, el intercambio por vía férrea se incrementó, a veces espectacularmente, dejando en evidencia algunas deficiencias de capacidad o condición de la infraestructura o estado del parque rodante.
