Colorism has been a historical racial dilemma for the African American community since slavery. Colorism can be defined as a form of bias, based upon different aspects of physical appearance including skin color, facial features, and hair that favors the facial appearance of Caucasian white Americans (Beopple, 2015). Over the last 10 years quantitative and qualitative data has been gathered to study the effect of colorism on the African American community with a specific focus on the psychological well-being of this population. A survey was conducted to evaluate the effects of colorism on African American women and their self-esteem and self-perception. A total of 25(N=25) surveys were gathered of women, ages 18-50, who all identified as black, African American or a person of color. The analyzed research results concluded that colorism, although has negatively impacted many participants, has not lowered or altered their self esteem or self perception.

Thesis task is a final task that is difficult and takes a long time so that students feel burdened with their assignments which will have an impact on stress. The cause of stress in students can be due to internal or external problems. 67.4% of nursing students who are working on their thesis experience mild stress. Students who have low self-disclosure and self-efficacy will experience high stress, so that it can affect students in doing thesis. This study aims to determine the effect of self-disclosure and self-efficacy on stress levels in students who are working on a thesis. The design of this study was quantitative with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted at Yatsi Madani University in June 2022. The population in this study were regular final year students at Yatsi Madani University. The sampling technique used total sampling with a total of 227 students as respondents. The instruments in this study used the Jung's Type Indicator (JTI) questionnaire, self disclosure scale, self efficacy scale and stress scale for. Bivariate analysis in this study used the Chi-Square test. Of the 227 students, the majority aged 21-23, 97.8%, female 87.2%, having an extrovert personality as much as 96.9%, self-disclosure and self-efficacy in dominant students in the moderate category as many as 86.8 % and 73.6%, and the majority fall into low stress levels as much as 67.4%. The results of the Chi-Square test obtained a p-value of 0.001 <0.05, which means that there is an influence between self-disclosure and self-efficacy on stress levels in students. This study can be used as a reference to get an overview of the three variables so that they can provide nursing interventions to students.

Self-esteem corresponds to a feeling of personal worth and self-respect, considering a positive or negative evaluation of oneself, while self-concept is attributed a descriptive and evaluative character, the first being related to self-image and the second to self-esteem. In order to build healthy self-esteem, the involvement of family members and school staff is strictly necessary, in order to provide a safe and motivating environment for children and adolescents. Thus, this article has the general objective of understanding the processes of building self-esteem, self-concept and self-image during child development, through the influences of the environment and affective relationships between the people with whom the child lives. The study is a review of narrative literature, through publications/articles in the following databases: Scientific Electronic Library (SCIELO), Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS) and Virtual Health Library (BVS). Studies have shown the importance of developing a positive self-concept to have a good quality of life. For that, the relationships that the individual establishes in the family, in the school, in his social environment are fundamental for the formation of the self-concept.
