BackgroundPsoriasis (PsO) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA) can greatly impact quality of life and result in substantial personal and societal costs. Complete and up to date data on the prevalence and incidence of these conditions and whether these change over time and vary by age is important for healthcare service planning so that specialist care and funding can be appropriately allocated.ObjectivesTo determine the prevalence and incidence of PsO and PsA in males and females from 2009-2019 across all age groups in England.MethodsWe used Clinical Practice Research Datalink AURUM, a primary care electronic health record database, including 20% of the English population. The codes used to identify patients with PsO and PsA were selected by rheumatologists and dermatologists and cross-checked with published code lists from other studies to ensure inclusion of all relevant codes. All included patients must have data for at least 1 year before their diagnosis. The annual incidence and point prevalence were calculated from 2009-2019 and stratified by age/sex. The study period ended in 2019 to avoid COVID-19 pandemic affecting results.ResultsThe prevalence of PsO and PsA in males and females increased annually, peaking in 2019 (PsO males 2.41% [95% confidence interval (CI) 2.40, 2.42]; PsO females 2.60% [95% CI 2.59-2.61]; PsA males 0.20% [95% CI 0.20-0.20]; PsA females 0.21% [95% CI 0.21- 0.22]), as illustrated in Table 1. In 2019, the prevalence of PsO and PsA was highest in the over 65 years age group; PsO 4.25% [95% CI 4.22-4.28] and PsA 0.38% [95% CI 0.37-0.38]. The annual incidence (per 100,000 person years) of PsO has gradually decreased in males (from 168 (164-171) in 2009 to 148 (145-151) in 2019) but in females it has been stable with a slight annual decrease (from 180 (177-184) in 2009 to 173 (170-176) in 2019). AbstractThe hyperfine structure of transitions in the three-step scheme 5 d 6 s ^22 D _3/2–5 d 6 s 6 p ^4 F $$_{{5/2}}^{^\circ }$$ –5 d 6 s 7 s ^4 D _3/2– (53 375 cm^–1) $$_{{1/2}}^{^\circ }$$ of lutetium ionization is studied for ^175Lu, ^176Lu, and ^177Lu isotopes using the photoionization laser spectroscopy method. Values of the magnetic dipole ( A ) and electric quadrupole ( B ) interaction constants are determined, as well as the energies, the isotope shifts, and the radiative lifetimes for the 5 d 6 s 7 s ^4 D _3/2 and (53 375 cm^–1) $$_{{1/2}}^{^\circ }$$ levels.

The following compounds were prepared by cocrystallization of their components from MeOH or MeCN and structurally characterized by low-temperature X-ray diffraction: Na[N(SO2Me)2]·HN(SO2Me)2·2 (12-crown-4) (2, orthorhombic, space group Pna21). Na[N(SO2Me)·HN(SO2Me)·(15-crown-5) (3, monoclinic. P21/n), Na[N(SO2Ph)2] · HN(SO2Ph)2 · 2 (12-crown-4) (4. monoclinic. P21). (MeNH)2COHN(SO2Ph)2·0.5 MeCN (5, monoclinic. P21/n). The four structures exhibit [(RSO2)2N-H ··· N(SO2R)2]- anions as rare examples of intermolecular [N-H ···N]- homo- conjugates. The N ··· N distances of the asymmetric hydrogen bonds are. in order. 266.9(6). 276.0(3). 291.3(4) and 279.4(2) pm. the corresponding N-H···N angles amounting to 137(10), 176(3), 177(4) and 177(2)°. The asymmetry of the hydrogen bonds is clearly reflected in the geometry of the NS2 groups (amine moieties: N-S 162.3-165.2 pm. S-N-S 124.5-127.1°; amide moieties: N-S 159.7-161.8 pm. S-N-S 119.1-122.6°). The dihedral angles formed by the NS2 planes vary from 51.8° in 4 to 87.6° in 5. The crystal lattices of 2 and 4 consist of discrete ions, sandwich-type [Na(12-crown-4)2]+ complexes acting as the counter-ions. In 3. Na+ is coordinated in an out-of-cavity pattern by the five polyether oxygen atoms and further accepts two Na-O bonds from the amide moiety of the complex anion [Na-O(crown) 241.5(2)-249.9(2), Na-O(anion) 235.0(2) and 263.9(2) pm]. Thе surprising structure of 5 contains homoconjugated 1.3-dimethylurea cations [(MeNH)2C-O-H ··· O=C(NHMe)2]+, which are formed via a very strong asymmetric [O-H ···O]+ hydrogen bond [О···О 247.7(2) pm. O-H ··· O 172(3)°] and are associated with the amide moieties of the anions through a set of N-H···О bonds to form infinite chains: the MeCN molecules occupy lattice cavities.

ZusammenfassungDie Radioligandentherapie (RLT) mit radioaktiv markierten PSMA-Liganden (z. B. Lu-177-PSMA-617) und die Peptid-Rezeptor-Radionuklidtherapie (PRRT) mit radioaktiv markierten Somatostatin-Analoga (z. B. Lu-177-DOTATATE) haben sich über die letzten Jahre als vielversprechende Therapieoptionen bei metastasierten, kastrationsresistenten Prostatakarzinomen bzw. inoperablen oder metastasierten neuroendokrinen Tumoren entwickelt. Das Theragnostiknuklid Lu-177 weist dabei neben der Therapie-relevanten Beta-Minus-Komponente eine, auch für die Bildgebung gut nutzbare, Gammaemission auf, die eine direkte quantitative Bildgebung und Dosimetrie der Radiopharmakonverteilung möglich macht. Die Patienten-spezifische 3D-Dosimetrie auf Basis der quantitativen Lu-177-Bildgebung ist dabei der Schlüssel hin zur individualisierten Therapiekontrolle und -planung in der RLT und PRRT, in denen bisher vornehmlich noch standardisierte Aktivitätsmengen verabreicht werden. Jedoch ist die Ermittlung robuster Dosiswerte klinisch aufwändig, sowohl bez. des Messaufwands als auch hinsichtlich der Auswertung der Daten, und die starke Variabilität der Dosiswerte und deren Abhängigkeit von der verwendeten Methodik erschweren die Etablierung Therapie-spezifischer Dosis-Wirkungsbeziehungen. Gerade der Vergleich von Dosimetriedaten zwischen den Kliniken erfordert eine systematische und vereinheitlichte Dosimetrie mit akzeptablem klinischem Aufwand. Die Genauigkeit der Dosimetrie ist derzeit v. a. limitiert durch Effekte der Bildgebung. Zusätzliche Fehler können sich bspw. durch eine ungünstige Wahl der gemessenen Datenpunkte, Bewegungsartefakte, Überlagerungseffekte in der planaren Bildgebung oder durch eine nicht vollständig klinisch durchführbare Definition der Zielregion (z. B. Knochenmark) ergeben. Die 3D-Dosimetrie, unter Berücksichtigung zusätzlicher physikalischer oder biologischer Parameter (z. B. Dosisrate), kann in der Radionuklidtherapie einen wichtigen Beitrag zur Etablierung von Dosis-Wirkungsbeziehungen liefern, allerdings ist die klinisch-physiologische Interpretation der 3D-Dosisverteilungen derzeit noch stark limitiert durch Bildartefakte und Bildrauschen in den zur Dosimetrie eingesetzten SPECT-Bildern.

Firstly, mention is made of a 'fossil-rush' in 1856 at Tingewick, Buckinghamshire where brick-clay was being extracted; the response to a note in the Times (6 January 1857) was overwhelming and it would be interesting to collate specimens in museums which originated from this source. Syncuaria Gilbert, 1927 is revised and Skrjabinocara Kurashvili, 1940 placed in synonymy with it. Nine species are recognized: S. ciconiae Gilbert, 1927 (type species); S. buckleyi (Ali, 1957) n. comb.; S. decorata (Cram, 1927); S. longialula Wang, 1976; S. leptoptili (Gedoelst, 1916) (=S. parvepapillata Macko, 1962a, 1962b); S. bressoui Gretillat, 1970; S. hargilae (Baylis and Daubney, 1923); S. diacantha Petter, 1961; and S. squamata (Linstow, 1883) n. comb. Redescriptions of the latter five species are provided. Six other species are regarded as species inquirendae: S. calcarata (Molin, 1860), S. contorta (Molin, 1858), S. longeornata (Molin, 1860), S. rostombekovi (Kurashvili, 1940) n. comb., S. ardeae (Smith, Fox and White, 1908), and S. sturni (Ozerskaya, 1927). Syncuaria longevaginata (Molin, 1860) is transferred to Desportesius, resulting in D. longevaginatus (Molin, 1860) n. comb. Syncuaria squamata was found in 11 of 18 young of the year double-crested cormorants (Phalacrocorax a. auritus (Lesson)) from Lake Erie, Ontario, Canada, indicating that transmission of this species occurs on the breeding ground of its final host.

Phytochemical investigation and anthelmintic activity of Salsola imbricata Forssk was carried out. Phytochemical analysis showed the presence of anthraquinones, reducing sugar, tannins, saponins, flavonoids, alkaloids and cardiac glycosides. Analysis of anthelmintic activity exhibited that bark extract of S. imbricata is more potent than fruit extract. Minimum time for paralysis and death of worms (9 and#177; 0.6 and 13 and#177; 0.2 min.) was taken by chloroform extract of bark at concentration of 100 mg/mL whereas fruit extract of chloroform was taken minimum time for paralysis and death of worms (10 and#177; 1.1 and 16 and#177; 0.1min.) at concentration of 100 mg/mL.

The pension audit has been a hot topic for the listed companies for the last years. New rules have been applied which have caused discussions and difficulties for the companies. EU’s ministry of council accepted the so called IAS 2005 Regulation on the 7th June 2002. This means that all companies listed on the stock market must follow IAS regulations in their consolidated accounts latest 2005. RR 29 / IAS 19, grounds for our study, came into place already 1st January 2005. Svenska Redovisningsrådets Recommendation No 29, “Reimbursements to employees”, essentially corresponds to International Accounting Standard No 19, “Employee Benefits”.

The purpose with this graduate paper is to see what effects the transformation to RR 29 / IAS 19 has had on the companies capitalistic structure, i.e. how liabilities, equity and certain business ratio have changed for the researched companies on the A-list at Stockholm Stock Exchange.

We have chosen to use a quantitative method by studying annual reports and analyzing certain figures. The research strategy we use is a total investigative survey. This creates a portrayal in the form of descriptive statistics.

The total lump sum of RR 29 / IAS 19 is -11972,8m SEK .This amount is of course the same for equity as for liabilities, but viewed across the entire survey population the equity was a lesser amount than the net amount due. The majority of the researched companies had a negative lump sum, although a few had a positive lump sum. Two out of three ratios have increased in value.

Det senaste året har pensionsredovisning varit ett hett ämne för börsbolagen. Nya regler har tillkommit vilka har skapat diskussioner och svårigheter för företagen.

Den 7 juni 2002 godtog EU:s ministerråd den så kallade IAS 2005 förordningen. Denna innebär att alla börsnoterade bolag senast 2005 skall följa IAS anvisningar i sin koncernredovisning. Redan från och med 1 januari 2004 började RR 29/ IAS 19, underlaget för vår studie, att gälla. Svenska Redovisningsrådets Rekommendation nr 29 ”Ersättningar till anställda” överensstämmer i all väsentligt med International Accounting Standard nr 19 ”Employee benefits”.

Syftet med denna kandidatuppsats är att se vilka effekter övergången till RR 29 / IAS 19 har haft på företagens kapitalstruktur, alltså hur skulder, eget kapital och särskilda nyckeltal har förändrats för de undersöka företagen på A-listan.

Vi har valt att använda oss av en kvantitativ metod genom att studera årsredovisningar och analysera viss sifferdata. Forskningsstrategin vi använder oss av är en surveyundersökning i totalundersökningsformat. Detta skapar sedan en framställning i form av deskriptiv statistik.

Den totala engångseffekten av RR 29 / IAS 19 blev -11972,8 miljoner kronor. Summan var självklart densamma för eget kapital som för skulder, men totalt sett över hela undersökningspopulationen var det egna kapitalet en mindre summa än nettoskulden. Majoriteten av de undersökta företagen fick en negativ engångseffekt, dock var det ett fåtal som fick en positiv engångseffekt. Två av tre nyckeltal har fått ett mer positivt värde.

This research discusses the identities of teachers of students in Arts Degree, in order to understand what it is to teach Portuguese to their own student teacher in training. In this perspective, this thesis had the following research question: What representations about being a teacher of Portuguese Language emerge in the speech of students of Arts and UEFS compete to build their teaching identities? This is a qualitative research based on the emerging paradigm of science (SOUSA SANTOS, 2004), in dialogue with some principles of social representations theory (Arruda, 2011). The locus was the State University of Feira de Santana / UEFS collaborators and subjects were a total of six students from the Bachelor of Arts Vernacular. To form the corpus of this study, interviews were conducted, and the use of memorials training, portfolios and document analysis of the pedagogical project of the course in question. The discursive clippings were analyzed from the theoretical and methodological assumptions of Discourse Analysis of French Line (ORLANDI, 2008), in dialogue with cultural studies (Hall, 2006), discussions in the field of Teacher Education (CORACINI, 2007; TARDIF, 2012) and studies (Auto) Biographical (N?VOA, 1992; PASSEGI, 2008). As results, we can see that the subject discourses demarcated the border between the porosity and not wanting to be a teacher, unveiling identification contradictory movements in relation to teaching. We also found that subjects represent the teaching of Portuguese as teaching grammar rules, constituting an identity marked by absence: the lack of grammar during coursework. However, conflicts arise as this image of Portuguese Language is relativized by the knowledge of linguistics. In addition, students have highlighted the need for a pedagogical practice different from his elementary school teachers and middle beyond the teaching of grammar rules, thus constituting identities in crossing. Regarding teacher training, students showed the importance of didactic and pedagogical disciplines, emphasizing, on the other hand, the need to include more subjects in the curriculum of this nature, since, according to them, the course emphasizes the training of the researcher, the time that marginalizes knowledge and practices related to the teaching profession, creating therefore a silencing of teaching.
Esta investiga??o problematiza as identidades docentes de estudantes de Licenciatura em Letras, no sentido de compreender o que ? ser professor de L?ngua Portuguesa para o pr?prio estudante, professor em forma??o. Nessa perspectiva, a presente Disserta??o teve a seguinte quest?o de pesquisa: Que representa??es sobre ser professor de L?ngua Portuguesa emergem no discurso de estudantes de Letras da UEFS e concorrem para a constru??o de suas identidades docentes? Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, fundamentada no paradigma emergente de ci?ncia (SOUSA SANTOS, 2004), em di?logo com alguns princ?pios da Teoria das Representa??es Sociais (ARRUDA, 2011). O l?cus foi a Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana/UEFS e os sujeitos colaboradores foram um total de seis estudantes do Curso de Licenciatura em Letras Vern?culas. Para constituir o corpus deste trabalho, foram realizadas entrevistas, al?m do uso de memoriais de forma??o, portf?lios e an?lise documental do Projeto Pedag?gico do curso em quest?o. Os recortes discursivos foram analisados a partir dos pressupostos te?rico- metodol?gicos da An?lise de Discurso de Linha Francesa (ORLANDI, 2008), em di?logo com os Estudos Culturais (HALL, 2006), as discuss?es no campo da Forma??o de Professores (CORACINI, 2007; TARDIF, 2012) e dos Estudos (Auto) biogr?ficos (N?VOA, 1992; PASSEGI, 2008). Como resultados alcan?ados, podemos perceber que os discursos dos sujeitos demarcaram a porosidade da fronteira entre querer ser e n?o ser professor, desvelando movimentos de identifica??o contradit?rios em rela??o ? doc?ncia. Percebemos, tamb?m, que os sujeitos representam o ensino da L?ngua Portuguesa como ensino de gram?tica normativa, constituindo uma identidade marcada pela aus?ncia: a falta da gram?tica durante a forma??o no curso. No entanto, embates v?o surgindo ? medida que essa imagem de L?ngua Portuguesa ? relativizada pelo saberes da Lingu?stica. Ademais, os estudantes evidenciaram a necessidade de terem uma pr?tica pedag?gica diferente dos seus professores do ensino fundamental e m?dio, para al?m do ensino da gram?tica normativa, constituindo, assim, identidades em travessia. No tocante ? forma??o docente, os estudantes sinalizaram a import?ncia das disciplinas did?tico- pedag?gicas, ressaltando, por outro lado, a necessidade de incluir no curr?culo mais disciplinas dessa natureza, posto que, segundo eles, o curso enfatiza a forma??o do pesquisador, ao tempo em que marginaliza saberes e pr?ticas relacionadas ? profiss?o docente, gerando, portanto, um silenciamento da doc?ncia.

Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar as ações do Ministério Público, em especial da Promotoria da Infância e Juventude, e dos Conselhos Tutelares para a garantia do acesso à Educação Infantil no município de Juiz de Fora – MG, que tramitaram entre os anos de 2009 a 2014. Para o desenvolvimento do estudo, realizou-se a revisão da literatura sobre judicialização da educação, tendo como referência autores que discutem o processo no campo da Política e da Educação e ainda os resultados obtidos em dissertação de mestrado defendida pela pesquisadora e que impulsionaram a realização deste trabalho; revisão da literatura sobre federalismo, tomando autores como Fernando Abrúcio, Gilda Cardoso, Jamil Cury, entre outros, na expectativa de compreender a organização do Estado Brasileiro e as implicações na implementação de políticas públicas educacionais; e o estudos sobre a legislação e as políticas públicas para a educação infantil, tomando como referências centrais Sônia Kramer, Maria Malta Campos, Kuhlmann Júnior, entre outros, com o objetivo de compreender a evolução das políticas para esta etapa e que a fez uma das principais causas da judilização da educação. Posteriormente, procedeu-se à pesquisa de campo no Ministério Público, Secretaria de Educação e Conselhos Tutelares de Juiz de Fora. Analisou-se os livros de setenças da Vara da Infância e Juventude, os relatórios de atendimento dos Conselhos Tutelares do município, os dados de atendimento em Educação Infantil da Secretaria de Educação e, por fim, realizou-se entrevistas semiestruturadas com: dois promotores de justiça, dois secretários de educação, duas chefes de departamento de Educação Infantil e de suas duas supervisoras, com sete conselheiros tutelares e com um vereador da Câmara Municipal de Juiz de Fora. Com o desenvolvimento deste estudo, identificou-se um considerável déficit por vagas na etapa de creches; que há em Juiz de Fora uma desarticulação da Rede de Proteção Social da infância e Juventude; que o processo de Judicialização da Educação encontrou seu limite, tendo em vista as dificuldades de atuação dos Conselhos Tutelares e o entendimento do Poder Judiciário e do Ministério Público de que os esforços para ampliação do acesso à Educação Infantil estão sendo realizados pela Prefeitura/ Secretaria Municipal de Educação; e que, em vistas disso, outro ator tem insurgido para garantir o direito de acesso à Educação Infantil, o poder legislativo.
This study aims to analyze the actions of the Public Prosecutor‟s Office, in particular the Attorney for Protection of Childhood and Youth, and Tutelary Councils to guarantee access to education for children in the municipality of Juiz de Fora – MG, which were carried on between the years 2009 to 2014. For the development of the study, there was the literature review on Judicialization of education, with reference to authors who discuss the process in the field of Politics and Education and also the results obtained in master thesis defended by the researcher and that propelled the achievement of this work; literature review on federalism, taking authors like Fernando Abrúcio, Gilda Cardoso, Jamil Cury, among others, in the hope of understanding the organization of the Brazilian State and the implications on the implementation of educational public policy; and the studies on legislation and public policy for early childhood education, taking as central references Sônia Kramer, Maria Malta Campos, Kuhlmann Júnior, among others, with the goal of understanding the evolution of the policies for this stage and which made it one of the main causes of the Judicialization of education. Later, there was the field research in the Public Prosecutor's Office, Secretary of Education and Tutelary Councils of Juiz de Fora. Sentences books from the Court of Infancy and Youth were analyzed, the service reports from the municipality Tutelary Councils, the data availability in early childhood education from the Secretary of Education and, finally, semi-structured interviews were conducted with: two public prosecutors, two secretaries of education, two heads of department of childhood education and their two supervisors, seven tutelary counselors and advisers and a councilor of the City Council of Juiz de Fora. With the development of this study, a considerable deficit was identified for vacancies in the stage of children‟s nurseries; that there is in Juiz de Fora a disarticulation from the Childhood and Youth Social Protection Network; that the process of Judicialization of Education found its limit, in consequence of the operation difficulties of the Tutelary Councils and the understanding of the Judiciary Power and the Public Prosecutor‟s Office of that the efforts to expand access to early childhood education are being conducted by the City Hall/ Municipal Secretary of Education; and that, in result of that, another actor has emerged to ensure the right of access to early childhood education, the Legislative Power.

The necessity to evangelize the Bantu slaves was in keeping with the demands of converting America into a pure and orthodox land. That mission was initiated by the catholic royalty, namely Isabelle and Ferdinand of Aragon at the reconquista. It's for that purpose that Pope Alejandro 6 (by means of Papal bull named Inter coetera 1 and 2 in 1493) turned catholic kings into loyal messengers of the propagation of the Christian faith worldwide, particularly in America. Consequently, in 1580, Portugal was granted the right to massively import Bantu slaves by way of asiento (a contract allowing the exportation of slaves from Africa to America). For the safety of the slave trade, the Portuguese had to baptize and Christianize the kidnapped Bantus prior to their embarkation in slave ports. In the 17th century, the case of Cartagena of the Indies as the main port of call and slaves distribution all-over Hispanic America drew our attention. That’s why we sought to show how the Bantu slaves were evangelized from the 17th century to the 18th century by the Jesus-Company. In other words, our purpose was to highlight the process that led the descendants of the Bantus to preserve their basic culture and tradition in spite of rigorous control under the Inquisition from 1610. Therefore, the presence of Bantu-derived culture along the Colombian Atlantic Coast is the irrefutable proof that the evangelization campaign that those people suffered was a failure. The desire to restore their humanity, to preserve their identity and to pass it down to their descendants was the main goal of the Maroons. Residing in the palenques, they were the vanguard of Bantu cultural-resistance in Colombia and anticipated, back then, the anti-slavery-revolt movement.

La parte centrale della tesi si concentra poi sulle tipologie di Artist Ranking, individuandone i principali sistemi e analizzandoli in maniera esaustiva. L'analisi prevede un approfondimento delle implicazioni che l'utilizzo di questi strumenti possono comportare nel settore dell'arte visiva contemporanea mediante l'elaborazione personale di un calcolo volto a evidenziare il grado di influenza sui prezzi di alcuni artisti selezionati.

AbstractTo date, no systematic attempt has been made to describe the main features of the Italian policy advisory system. In particular, we know very little about the role of political scientists within it. This study addresses precisely this gap in the literature. First, by presenting original data derived from an online survey to which 177 Italian political scientists responded, we reconstruct frequency, type, recipient(s), and areas of their (potential) policy advice. Second, by focusing on two very relevant policy processes—the approval of the so-called Italicum (electoral law) and of the so-called Jobs Act (labour market reform)—we add insightful qualitative details to our quantitative analysis. Empirical results show that Italian political scientists are seldom engaged in policy advisory activities: many of them have never been. Moreover, there are no particular differences—from the point of view of personal characteristics (gender and level of academic career)—between policy advisors and the so-called pure academics. Finally, as the two case studies show, informal advice has the greatest impact on policymaking. This latter aspect reminds us of how much the Italian policy advisory system (PAS) is still poorly institutionalised and largely based on personal relationships as well as on political proximity.

The general aim of this study is to investigate the lexis of moral sense and practical ethics in a number of medical works published between 1770 and 1803. Two physicians laid the foundations of medical morality: John Gregory (1724–1773) and Thomas Percival (1740–1804). In their works, they highlight and discuss the notions of duty/-ies, office/-s, and conduct in many different contexts, and gradually define their specific shades of meaning in the emerging medical profession over time. The study will exemplify how these three words are used within Gregory’s and Percival’s works (e.g., frequency rate across works, textual and discourse relevance), and will also explore their function in structuring medical ethics, as well as their role in governing medical practice and performance.

The Partulidae are a Pacific-wide family of tree snails with high levels of endemism and with a majority of their extant species having special conservation concern. Having radiated across Pacific Islands, this family has evolved with some frequency of tropical storms. However, little is known about their response or recovery rates from severe storms. The island of Guam has its own unique species of Partulidae, Partula radiolata. One of the largest and most accessible occurrences of P. radiolata in the island is located at the Asan Beach Unit of the War in the Pacific National Historical Park. A population assessment of the area?s partulids was conducted approximately one month before a major typhoon ? Typhoon Mawar ? hit the island. The same series of transects used before the typhoon was repeated approximately three weeks after the typhoon. Two hundred twenty-five P. radiolata were counted in the Asan Beach Unit before the typhoon, and 177 after the typhoon. The biggest decline in numbers occurred amongst juvenile partulids ? from 53 counted before the typhoon, to just 11 after the typhoon. The vegetation was severely impacted by the storm, opening up much of the canopy and downing many trees and branches. Despite suffering some obvious mortality, P. radiolata were still persisting within the area. Because this is one of the most accessible populations of P. radiolata, we have an opportunity to monitor post-storm recovery on a regular basis that would be unfeasible at more remote population locations.
