Annotation:

This study was designed to determine the validity of Reitan-Indiana Aphasia Screening Test for Farsi speaking neuropsychology patients, (Vahedian Translation and Modification). Scores of fifty right handed males with damage to the brain hemisphere or with no history of brain damage, ages from 18 to 35 were compiled on Reitan-Indiana Aphasia Screening Test (Vahedian Translation and Modification). One way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to test the differences in the means among the diagnostic groups. Statistical analysis substantiated the hypothesis that the Reitan-Indiana Aphasia Screening Test (Vahedian Translation and Modification) distinguishes between Farsi speaking aphasic patients and non-aphasic Farsi speaking patients. It was found that anomia and dyscalculia are common symptoms of Farsi speaking individuals who have a history of left hemisphere brain damage.

This study explored the relationship between anxiety and children's performance on the Reitan-Indiana Aphasia Screening Test. Anxiety was measured using the Personality Inventory for Children. Participants' anxiety scores were correlated with the individual component error scores and the total error scores from the Reitan Aphasia Screening Test. Second, the individual component scores were examined to assess their independent and shared contributions in the prediction of the Anxiety Scale of the Personality Inventory for Children.Participants for this study were 176, 9 to 16 year old boys and girls referred to an outpatient neuropsychological assessment clinic. Anxiety was found to be significantly related to the total score of the Reitan-Indiana Aphasia Screening test, as well as, each of the individual components. The regression analysis showed that five of the individual components of the Reitan-Indiana Aphasia Screening Test were able to significantly predict scores on the Anxiety Scale of the Personality Inventory for Children with a multiple R of .76. These data were discussed in terms of the importance of the interrelationship between anxiety and the Reitan-Indiana Aphasia Screening Test when making clinical judgements concerning the individual patient.

The present study was designed to assess the role of response time on the Category Test of the Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Test Battery (HRNB). The intent was to define the underlying constructs of the Category Test more particularly, the speed of performance by examining response time to individual slides of the Category Test.Seventy-two normal adult volunteers were administered the complete HRNB. Average response times were computed for correct (CRT), incorrect (IRT), and total (TRT) scores on the Category Test. The efficacy of using response measures (CRT, IRT, and TRT) to predict Category performance was examined in the context of other HRNB variables that loaded factorially with the Category Test, more specifically: TPT-time, memory, and location, Trails B, WAIS-R Block Design, and WAIS-R Object Assembly.A step-wise multiple regression analysis was computed using the above HRNB and response time measures to predict Category error scores. Results from this analysis indicated that TPT-location, TRT, and IRT contributed significantly (p<.05) in the prediction of Category scores. Approximately 15% of the variability in Category scores was explained by a measure of spatial memory (TPT-location) and an additional 15% was accounted for by psycho-motor speed (TRT and IRT). The significant contribution of response time in defining the underlying construct of the Category Test was discussed in terms of possible implications for enhancing the neuropsychological significance of the Category Test.

At the core of this study was an investigation of the current system of identification of learning disabled children as a result of concerns raised regarding the equivocal nature of federal guidelines for identification and their differential application by professionals. Toward this goal, the purposes of this study were 1) to evaluate the Reitan-Indiana Aphasia Screening Test as a means to differentiate LD children from low-achieving and normal children; 2) to assess the quantitative and qualitative neuropsychological performance differences between these three groups; and 3) to evaluate the quantitative and qualitative neuropsychological performance differences between male and female LD and low-achieving children. Subjects were 244 male (n=118) and female (n=126) LD (n=82), low-achieving (n=72), and normal (n=90) children randomly selected from five Midwestern school corporations. Classification of subjects into groups was based on previous identification as an LD child or scores on the Comprehensive Test of Basic Skills (below the 50th percentile and not school identified as LD were classified as low-achieving). Two-way analyses of variance indicated that neuropsychological performanceNeuropsychological Differences as measured by the Reran-Indiana Aphasia Screening Test significantly differed between groups but not gender on total error score. Further, two-way multivariate analyses of variance indicated significant performance differences across groups with LD children making more errors than either group on tasks indicative of spelling dyspraxia, constructional dyspraxia, dyslexia, central dysarthria, dyscalculia, and body dysgnosia. Additionally, LD children demonstrated more dysfunction in deficits reflective of only mild to moderate neuropsychological impairment as compared to deficits more strongly indicative of brain damage. No differences in performance based on type of error or severity of dysfunction was found between genders. Implications of these findings are discussed relative to the identification process.

The primary purpose of this study was to determine the kind of neuropsychological information that can be obtained from an investigation of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) subtests. Additionally, there was an examination of the shared variance between the WAIS and the Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Battery (HRNB). The archival data collected from the files of '220 females and 188 males from a large midwestern medical center were used. They had been originally diagnosed with objective research criteria.All eleven subtests of the WAIS and the HalsteadReitan Neuropsychological Battery were administered to the subjects in the years between 1981 and 1983. Thirteen scores were obtained from the HRNB measures. Statistical analyses of the results made use of the techniques of multiple regression and canonical correlation.The individual WAIS subtests were examined for the neuropsychological information they provided. Globally, three HRNB measures, APHASIA, RHY, AND CAT-TOT contributed significantly to a majority of the regression equations for the WAIS subtests. Their presence suggested that language skills, an auditory attention factor, and a general intellective factor were being tapped (Dean, 1985a).A canonical correlation was computed. The results yielded one significant correlation between the linear components of the WAIS and the HRNB tests. Only canonical variates with weights of +/- .2 were considered large enough for interpretation. The WAIS subtests meeting the .2 criteria included Block Design, Digit Symbol, and Similarities, while the HRNB measures meeting criteria were APHASIA and CAT-TOT. Therefore, it would appear that the significant variables measured the general (g) factor as in Spearman's research (1927). According to the Stewart and Love formula (cited in Pedhazur, 1982), the variability of the WAIS did overlap with the HRNB, and their relationship was symmetrical.This research demonstrated that the measured tasks from the WAIS were a complex of underlying constructs. The verbal portion of the WAIS was shown to be less highly related to the HRNB variables than the performance portion of the scale. The WAIS and HRNB do offer nonredundant information concerning the impaired and unimpaired adult's cognitive functioning.

Teori: Teorierna som har använts i uppsatsen är marknadsföringsmix, servqual, customer value och agentteorin.

Empiri: Data som tagits fram till denna uppsats har varit till för att se butikschefernas syn på framtida investeringar och franchisingkonceptet och enkätundersökningen har resulterat i empiri kring vilka faktorer som påverkar kunderna.

Resultat:

Företaget bör skräddarsy marknadsföringen för respektive butik, utifrån vilket kundsegment butiken har.
Företaget bör investera i allt som ökar servicegraden, såsom investeringar i snabbare system och i kurser och samarbeten som bidrar till säkrare, kunnigare och trevligare personal.
Företaget bör ha kunden i fokus vid investeringar, då detta kan resultera i en nöjdare kund som även kan bidra till att öka företagets intäkter.

Företaget bör se till så att klyftan mellan ledningens och butikschefernas intresse ligger väldigt nära varandra, så att båda parter arbetar mot samma mål.

The present study investigated the neuropsychological predictors of auditory/verbal and visual/written arithmetic performance in a large sample of children with learning disorders. In addition, the efficacy of a cognitive based arithmetic problem solving model (Dinnel, Glover, & Halpain, in press; Dinnel, Glover, & Ronning, 1984) in accounting for neuropsychological functioning in arithmetic performance was considered. Subjects were from a small midwestern school district, and were identified as learning disabled in accord with state (i.e., Rule S-1) and federal guidelines (i.e., PL-94-142). Specifically, subjects' scores on the Halstead-Reitan Neuropsychological Battery (HRNB) (Reitan, 1969) for older children and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) (Wechsler, 1974) were used to predict performance on the Wide Range Achievement Test (WRAT) Arithmetic subtest, and WISC-R Arithmetic subtest. Analyses were conducted with criterion measures considered separately and as a composite. In an attempt to examine the utility of the Dinnel et al., (in press; 1984) model, a simple index was formed using the criterion measures. This index was then predicted using the HRNB and WISC-R variables. Neuropsychological variables were found to account for some 31%, and 36% of the variability in visual/written and auditory/verbal arithmetic performance, respectively. However, neuropsychological variables accounted for some 87% of the shared variance when arithmetic measures were considered as a linear composite. Neuropsychological variables predicted a mere 12% of the variability associated with the index designed to test the Dinnel et al. (in press; 1984) arithmetic problem solving model. These data offered some support to Dinnel and others' (Dinnel et al., in press; 1984) formulations accounting for arithmetic performance under visual/stimulus conditions. However, the present findings indicated a more complex neuropsychological underpinning for overall arithmetic problem solving. Moreover, the neuropsychological constructs predicting arithmetic scores varied as a function of the stimulus/performance modes required for problem solving.Auditory-verbal attention and short-term memory, remote verbal memory, symbolic language integration, mental flexibility, and nonverbal abstract reasoning were the common neuropsychological constructs underpinning both auditory/verbal and visual/written arithmetic performance. Verbal facility, verbal abstract reasoning, nonverbal short term memory, and nonverbal concrete concept formation were uniquely implicated in auditory/verbal arithmetic performance. Visual/written arithmetic performance was uniquely related to nonverbal attention and intermediate nonverbal memory functions. In overview, it would seem that neuropsychological measures would be clinically useful in identifying deficits underlying poor arithmetic performance.

Chapter 0 gives a gentle background to the thesis. It begins with some general notions and concepts from homological algebra. For example, not only are the notions of universal property and of duality central to the flavour of the subject, they are also suggestive in understanding mathematics at another depth. In category theory, objects and morphisms are the two main elements in a category, and notions such as kernels and cokernels are defined in terms of objects together with morphisms. In accordance with it, the morphisms are given a very subtle signifcance within a category. The chapter then introduces the notion of a triangulated category, where due to the lack of uniqueness of certain morphisms described in the axioms, is allowed to be far from an abelian category. A few examples of triangulated categories are given, the homotopy category, the derived category and certain stable cat- egories. The chapter ends with a little description of an Auslander-Reiten quiver de ned on a Krull-Schmidt category, as well as the notions of Serre functor and of Auslander-Reiten triangles in subcategories. The introduction chapter selects lemmas and theorems not only to be referenced in later chapters, but also those which can induce good intuition on the reader, for example, in their capacity of being analogues to each other, in the interplay between them and in their different suggestiveness in approximating or generalizing concepts in different ways and directions. Chapter 1 studies torsion pairs in abelian categories and torsion theories with torsion theory triangles in triangulated categories. It then gives a necessary and su cient condition for the existence of certain adjoint functors in triangulated categories. Intuitively, they are all different expressions of subcategories approximating their ambient categories. The chapter goes on to introduce two special cases of torsion theories, namely t-structures and split torsion theories, and finishes with a characterization of a split torsion theory and a classiffcation of split torsion theories in a chosen derived category. There is a very close and subtle relationship between the existence of torsion theory triangles and the existence of Auslander-Reiten triangles. Chapter 2 studies the existence of Auslander-Reiten sequences in subcategories of mod( ), where is a nite-dimensional k-algebra over the eld k, based on the theory of the existence of Auslander-Reiten triangles in subcategories developed by J rgensen. The existence theorems strengthen the results by Auslander and Smal and by Kleiner. Chapter 3 sees that quotients of certain triangulated categories are triangulated and are in addition derived categories, appealing to a theorem which is a slight variation of the results by Rickard and Keller. In this chapter, the Auslander-Reiten triangles play a predominant role in re ecting the tri angulation structure of a triangulated category, and the Auslander-Reiten triangles can be read o from the Auslander-Reiten quiver. The cluster category D of Dynkin type A1 was introduced by J rgensen. One of its several de nitions, which is completely analogous to the de nition of the cluster category of type An, motivates us to say that D is a cluster category of type A1. In the result by Holm and J rgensen, the cluster tilting subcategories of D were shown to be in bijection with certain maximal sets of non-crossing arcs connecting non-neighbouring integers. Chapter 4 generalizes the result by giving a bijection between torsion theories in D and certain configurations of arcs connecting non-neighbouring integers. Finally, a few examples, characterizing all t-structures and co-t-structures in D, are given.

In this dissertation, let B be a triangulated category and let D be an extension-closed subcategory of B. First, we give some new characterizations of an Auslander-Reiten triangle in D, which yields some necessary and sufficient conditions for D to have Auslander-Reiten triangles. Next, we study when an Auslander-Reiten triangle in B induces an Auslander-Reiten triangle in D. As an application, we study Auslander-Reiten triangles in a triangulated category with a t-structure. In case the t-structure has a t-hereditary heart, we establish the connection between the Auslander-Reiten triangles in B and the Auslander-Reiten sequences in the heart. Finally, we specialize to the bounded derived category of all modules of a noetherian algebra over a complete local noetherian commutative ring. Our result generalizes the corresponding result of Happel’s in the bounded derived category of finite dimensional modules of a finite dimensional algebra over an algebraically closed field.

In this paper, we prove the existence of Auslander-Reiten triangles (TAR) for compact objects in triangulated categories compactly generated. The prove presented is an application of the theorem of Brown representability in derived categories for compact complex, ie, given Z be a compact and indecomposable complex, we show that there is a Auslander-Reiten triangle X->U->Y->v->Z->w->TX in K-b(^) which is equivalent to D(^), where ^ is a finite-dimensional k-algebra over an algebraically closed field. Furthermore, we have that a triangle Auslander-Reiten wihch start with the projective resolution of a indecomposable and non-injective module T-¹pM->alfa->Y->Beta->(pDM)*->y->pM induces an Auslander-Reiten sequence(SAR) 0->M->alfa¹->Cok¹ (Y)-> beta¹->Tr DM->0. How Mod(^) and D(^) are Krull-Schmidt, and classes of indecomposable objects and generators of irreducible morphisms of these categories occur in the SAR's and TAR's, respectively, these results provide us with a skillful tool to know the structures Mod(^) and D(^) of k-algebras. Moreover, we present examples using the representation theory of quivers of an algebra of paths.
Neste trabalho, apresentamos uma prova da existência de triângulos de Auslander-Reiten(TAR) para objetos compactos em categorias trianguladas compactamente geradas. A prova apresentada é uma aplicação do Teorema da Representabilidade de Brown em categorias derivadas para complexos compactos, ou seja, dado Z um complexo compacto e indecomponíveL mostramos que existe um triângulo X->U->Y->v->Z->w->TX de Auslander-Reiten em K-b(^) que é equivalente à Db(^), onde ^ é uma k-álgebra de dimensão finita sobre um corpo algébricamente fechado. Além disso, temos que um triângulo de Auslander-Reiten que começa com a resolução projetiva de um módulo indecomponível não-injetivo T-¹pM->alfa->Y->Beta->(pDM)*->y->pM induz uma sequência de Auslander-Reiten(SAR) 0->M->alfa¹->Cok¹ (Y)-> beta¹->Tr DM->0. Como MOd(^) e D(^) são Krull-Remak-Schmidt, e as classes de objetos inde- componíveis e os geradores de morfismos irredutíveis destas categorias ocorrem nas SAR's e nos TAR's, respectivamente, estes resultados nos fornecem uma hábil ferramenta para conhecer as estruturas de Mod(^) e D(^) de k-álgebras. Let R be a connected selfinjective Artin algebra. We prove that any almost split sequence ending at an Omega-perfect R-module of finite complexity has at most four non-projective summands in a chosen decomposition of the middle term into indecomposable modules. Moreover, we show that a chosen decomposition into indecomposable modules of the middle term of an almost split sequence ending at an R-module of complexity 1 lying in a regular component of the Auslander-Reiten quiver has at most two summands. Furthermore, we prove that the regular component is of type ZA_{infinity} or ZA_{infinity}/. We use this to study modules with eventually constant and eventually periodic Betti numbers.

Questa tesi è dedicata allo studio di alcuni esempi di algebre d-representation finite e infinite. Queste algebre sono la generalizzazione delle classiche algebre di tipo di rappresentazione finito e infinito nel contesto della teoria di Auslander-Reiten in dimensione superiore, introdotta da Iyama negli anni 2000. Nella prima parte della tesi introduciamo nuovi esempi di algebre d-representation infinite sfruttando la loro relazione con le algebre bimodulo (d+1)-Calabi-Yau di parametro di Gorenstein 1. Per prima cosa richiameremo alcuni risultati di Bocklandt, Schedler e Wemyss, e di Herschend, Iyama e Oppermann, che mostrano alcuni esempi dati da skew group algebre di sottogruppi finiti di gruppi lineari generali. Come generalizzazione delle classiche algebre ereditarie tame di tipo A, Herschend, Iyama e Oppermann hanno introdotto le algebre d-representation infinite di tipo A considerando sottogruppi abeliani di SL(d+1,C). Nel nostro lavoro otteniamo una costruzione simile per alcuni sottogruppi non abeliani. Più precisamente, studiamo la skew group algebra di alcuni sottogruppi metaciclici immersi in SL(s,C) e SL(s+1,C), quando s è un numero primo. A tale scopo diamo una descrizione dei quiver di McKay con superpotenziale di tali gruppi, e ne consideriamo dei grading ottenuti da tagli. Inoltre, mostriamo che per s=2 i nostri esempi corrispondono alle classiche algebre ereditarie tame di tipo D. La seconda parte della tesi tratta di skew group algebre di algebre Jacobiane. Dimostriamo che, se un gruppo ciclico finito agisce sull'algebra Jacobiana P(Q,W) di un quiver con potenziale (Q,W) soddisfando alcune assunzioni, allora la skew group algebra P(Q,W)*G è Morita equivalente all'algebra Jacobiana di un altro quiver con potenziale(Q_G,W_G), che è descritto esplicitamente. Il quiver con potenziale originale può essere quindi recuperato tramite una costruzione di skew group algebra rispetto a un'azione naturale del gruppo duale di G. Una delle motivazioni per questo lavoro risiede in un teorema di Herschend e Iyama, che mette in relazione i quiver con potenziale auto-iniettivi alle algebre 2-representation finite. Alla luce di ciò, studiamo il comportamento dei tagli su tali quiver sotto la nostra costruzione, allo scopo di ottenere nuovi esempi di algebre 2-representation finite da quelli già conosciuti. Presentiamo alcuni esempi dove la nostra costruzione può essere applicata, come i quiver con potenziale planari dove il gruppo agisce per rotazioni, e in particolare quelli auto-iniettivi che sono ottenuti da diagrammi di Postnikov.

This thesis consists of three parts. In the first part we look at Hopf algebras. We classify pointed rank one Hopf algebras over fields of prime characteristic which are generated as algebras by the first term of the coradical filtration. These Hopf algebras were classified by Radford and Krop for fields of characteristic zero. We obtain three types of Hopf algebras presented by generators and relations. The third type is new and has not previously appeared in literature. The second part of this thesis deals with Auslander-Reiten theory of finitedimensional algebras over fields. We consider G-transitive algebras and develop necessary conditions for them to have Auslander-Reiten components with Euclidean tree class. Thereby a result in [F3, 4.6] is corrected and generalized. We apply these results to G-transitive blocks of the universal enveloping algebras of restricted p-Lie algebras. Finally we deduce a condition for a smash product of a local basic algebra Λ with a commutative semi-simple group algebra to have components with Euclidean tree class, in terms of the components of the Auslander-Reiten quiver of Λ. In the last part we introduce and analyze Auslander-Reiten components for the bounded derived category of a finite-dimensional algebra. We classify derived categories whose Auslander-Reiten quiver has either a finite stable component or a stable component with finite Dynkin tree class or a bounded stable component. Their Auslander-Reiten quiver is determined. We use these results to show that certain algebras are piecewise hereditary. Also a necessary condition for the existence of components of Euclidean tree class is deduced. We determine components that contain shift periodic complexes.

Zentrale Aufgabe der russischen Gouverneure war es für Ruhe und Ordnung in den Provinzen zu sorgen. Damit wurden sie zu zentralen Akteuren der ersten Russischen Revolution von 1905-1907, in der sie bei der Auflösung von Streiks, Aufständen und ländlichen Unruhen persönlich vermitteln sollten. Die an der Mikrogeschichte orientierte Frage nach den Einflüssen des revolutionären Raums auf die Praktiken und Inszenierung ihrer Herrschaft steht im Mittelpunkt dieser Arbeit. Seit der Gründung des Gouverneursamtes waren die Gouverneure als Stellvertreter des Zaren mit einer umfassenden Machtfülle ausgestattet und zählten zu den wichtigsten Stützen der autokratischen Herrschaft im imperialen Russland. Die eingeübten Herrschaftspraktiken der Gouverneure wurden in der Revolution von 1905-1907 auf eine harte Probe gestellt und verlangten von den Stellvertretern des Zaren sich der neuen Situation anzupassen und ihre Herrschaft neu zu inszenieren. Wie sich die Repräsentationen der Autokratie und ihrer Vertreter unter dem Druck des sozialen und gesellschaftlichen Wandels veränderten, spiegelte sich unter anderem in den Begegnungen zwischen den Gouverneuren und den Bewohnern der Provinzen. Die persönliche Anwesenheit und die individuelle Ausgestaltung des Amtes stellten eine Konstante in den Herrschaftspraktiken der Gouverneure dar. Dies ermöglichte es ihnen entweder als Vollstrecker des zarischen Willen Aufstände niederzuschlagen oder als Vertrauens- und Konfliktvermittler aufzutreten und damit am Sieg der Autokratie über die revolutionären Kräfte entscheidend mitzuwirken.
The primary task of the Russian governors was to provide peace and order in the provinces. This is why they were central protagonists of the first Russian Revolution of 1905-1907. Here they personally had to enter into conflicts like for instance strikes, peasant disturbances and uprisings. Which effect this revolutionary space had on the governors'' way to rule, in their ability to use their symbolic power and on their old fashioned practices to solve conflicts, is the leading question of this book. Since the establishment of the gubernatorial office during Peter the Great''s reign the governors were the viceroys of the czar in the provinces. Provided with immense power the governors were very important supporters of the autocratic regime. But the violent revolution of 1905-1907 put the established ways to rule and practiced rituals to hard test and demanded from the governors skills for adaptation and improvisation in many difficult situations. The representations of the autocracy changed. This can for example be studied in the direct encounters between the governors and the inhabitants of the provinces. The personal presence of the governor and his ability to individually define his politics in the gubernatorial office were two important moments in the viceroys'' power in the provinces. These enabled them to act as the executors of the Czar''s intentions. In this role the governors could strike down riots and disturbances violently but could also act as trust brokers and mediators of conflicts. This scope of action and how the individual governor filled in his role therefore had a deep impact of the autocratic victory over the revolutionary forces.

Drawing on the work of Julia Kristeva, Luce Irigaray, Hélène Cixous and media philosopher Jean Baudrillard, this article concentrates on John Webster’s tragedies and – after a short discussion of Shakespearean tragedies as well as of The White Devil – argues that The Duchess of Malfi is a unique English Renaissance tragedy insofar as it presents an unprecedented conception of feminine identity, which is linked to an affirmative understanding of female sexuality, to a non-traditional understanding of motherhood and to the notion of the abject. As a consequence of this, the supposed irregularities or ‘flaws’ of the play can be explained as the semiotic pulsation of drives interfering with the symbolic order, while the play in its totality demonstrates that it is the negated “peculiar organisation of abjection which actually founds the signifying economy of our culture” (A. Smith).

This dissertation contains three aspects of my research that are listed as three joint papers with my advisor and a solo paper in the bibliography [56]--[59]. Each paper will be discussed in a different chapter. Chapter 1 contains the introduction to this dissertation. In this chapter we give the statements of the most important results discussed in Chapters 3--6. Chapter 2 contains notation and background material for use in the subsequent chapters. In Chapter 3, we prove lifting results for DG modules that are akin to Auslander, Ding, and Solberg's famous lifting results for modules. Chapter 4 contains the complete answer to a question of Vasconcelos from 1974. We show that a local ring has only finitely many shift-isomorphism classes of semidualizing complexes. Our proof relies on certain aspects of deformation theory for DG modules over a finite dimensional DG algebra, which we develop. In Chapter 5, we investigate Cohen factorizations of local ring homomorphisms from three perspectives. First, we prove a “weak functoriality” result for Cohen factorizations: certain morphisms of local ring homomorphisms induce morphisms of Cohen factorizations. Second, we use Cohen factorizations to study the properties of local ring homomorphisms in certain commutative diagrams. Third, we use Cohen factorizations to investigate the structure of quasi-deformations of local rings, with an eye on the question of the behavior of CI-dimension in short exact sequences. In Chapter 6 we show under some conditions that a Gorenstein ring R satisfies the Generalized Auslander-Reiten Conjecture if and only if so does R[x]. When R is a local ring we prove the same result for some localizations of R[x].

Welche sozialen Funktionen erfüllte das Erzählen? Welche Regeln des Erzählens galten in den Vortragssituationen? ... Der Fokus dieses Beitrages richtet sich auf das 'Erzählen beim Reiten', das hinsichtlich seiner Bedingungen und Funktionalität zu analysieren sein wird. Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist es, Erkenntnisse über textimmanentes Erzählen zu gewinnen, die Aussagen über die erzähllogische und handlungslogische Funktionalität von Metadiegesen zulassen, und - perspektiviert auf noch zu schreibende synchron und diachron angelegte, vergleichende Analysen - ein mittelalterliches Verständnis vom 'Erzählens' (in Erzählungen) rekonstruieren zu können.

REITs har kommit att bli ett världsomspännande fenomen. Denna investerings-form har egenskaper som gagnar hela spannet av investerare, stora som små. Högre riskjusterad avkastning, stabila och förutsägbara kassaflöden är några av anledningarna till detta. Intresset i Sverige på beslutsfattande håll har sedan 2002 nästan varit obefintligt. En anledning kan vara att byggmarknaden ständigt har ökat, varför behovet av att se över denna typ av regleringar hittills saknats.En investering i denna tillgångsklass kan även bidra till den finansiella stabili-teten. Med banker som är väldigt exponerade mot kommersiella fastigheter är riskerna stora, och REITs som i sin natur tvingas vara långsiktiga kan på sikt av-sevärt minska dessa risker. Då REITs som har hemvist i annat land redan kan investera i Sverige, riskerar vi att tappa den nuvarande skattebasen till andra länder.
REITs has grown to become a global phenomenon. This form of investment has qualities that benefit all types of investors. It yields high risk-adjusted returns and a steady and predictable cash flow are some of the reasons for this. The policy makers in Sweden has shown a lethargic approach to the question ever since 2002. A reason for this might derive from the fact that the real estate market has been very strong, hence it has been no real reason to review the regulations of the real estate market.An investment in this type of asset could also contribute to the financial stability. With banks being very exposed to especially commercial real estates the risks for a market bust is high, and REITs that in its nature is more focused to property management than transactions could substantially lower these risks in the long run. Because of the fact that a foreign company could already invest in Sweden without paying tax here, we could risk losing part of our domestic tax revenue to other countries.

O objetivo principal desta tese de doutoramento é compreender o papel do Reitor de cinco universidades comunitárias do Sul do Brasil. A pesquisa se limitou a esboçar o perfil dos Reitores dessas universidades, cujos dados serviram para compor os parâmetros que orientaram e subsidiaram a análise da competência/eficácia organizacional universitária a partir das características de seu líder e sua relação com o perfil intra-empreendedorista. A fundamentação teórica permitiu uma trajetória de leitura dirigida e uma interpretação do fenômeno com maior lucidez e, portanto, para detectar as características do perfil gerencial, a integração de valores de cada um deles, e identificar o envolvimento organizacional no processo da gestão universitária. A metodologia consistiu de um estudo exploratório e qualitativo, que possibilitou mostrar essa relação a partir de uma abordagem fenomenológica. De um universo de 29 universidades comunitárias da região Sul do Brasil, compuseram os sujeitos desta pesquisa, em forma de sorteio, cinco Reitores com, no mínimo, dois anos de gestão universitária. Os dados foram coletados através de uma entrevista semi-estrutura. Dessa etapa, resultou um conjunto de dados brutos que, depois de transcritos, transformou-se no corpus de análise. Dos depoimentos emitidos pôde-se perceber um fio condutor comum que permeia seus modos de liderar, de comandar, de coordenar, de agrupar, de gerenciar e conduzir os destinos de suas universidades, entre os quais sobressai o caráter intra-empreendedor. Como parte intrínseca desse caráter se incluem as variáveis de perfil: abertura para a inovação, autonomia, comprometimento, dinamismo, liderança, motivação, perseverança, relacionamento interpessoal, transparência, valores; e as variáveis de função: conhecimento de administração, conhecimento de psicologia, coordenação de equipes, educação/formação, inserção política, planejamento e controle, poder.

Der Aufsatz versucht anhand einiger Beispiele zu zeigen, dass es den Briefeschreibern weniger darum ging, die Empfänger mit gediegener Bildung zu beeindrucken, als darum, ihren Gedanken anschaulicher und prägnanter Gestalt zu verleihen, zumal in gebildeten Kreisen die Kenntnis der Klassiker und der zeitgenössischen Literatur sozusagen zur Grundausstattung an Bildung gehörte, mit der beinahe spielerisch umgegangen werden konnte.
Alexander von Humboldt and his correspondents liked to enrich or embellish their letters with quotations from classic works of ancient literature as well as from recent poems, plays, or novels. This paper tries to show that references to literature were very often used in order to express thoughts and feelings more clearly not so much for impressing the recipients of letters with high education. In educated circles a good knowledge of ancient and modern works of literature was a standard requirement, which often allowed the letter writers to use quotations in a playful manner.
