Grenada is 1 of 15 developing countries in Caribbean Community known as CARICOM. The infrastructure capital projects in these developing countries are plagued with an array of issues: unethical practices, inadequate supervision, lack of transparency and accountability, inadequate monitoring and evaluation, cost overruns, and inefficiencies. In the 1980s and 1990s, the International Monitory Fund and World Bank introduced a balanced scorecard engineered under the structural adjustment program, but it was unable to improve infrastructure project efficiencies. This qualitative case study sought to understand the role of management key performance indicators (KPIs) on public sector infrastructure capital project efficiency on the island of Grenada. An institutional assessment and development framework and a classical management theoretical framework methodology were used to explore the effects of management KPIs on public sector infrastructure capital projects efficiencies in developing countries. The research incorporated a constructivist philosophy that underpins the evaluation and perception of the government, the National Water and Sewerage Authority (NAWASA), project teams, systems, and stakeholders. A purposive sampling strategy with elements of snowballing was used to obtain 12 representative participants for interviews, and a systematic approach of transcribing, coding, and thematic analysis was done. Findings indicate inadequacies in the BSC performance measure system on infrastructure projects, which justifies the use of comprehensive management KPIs. Positive social change implications of this study include recommendations for comprehensive management KPIs and policies to improve public sector infrastructure project efficiency in Grenada.

O aumento de prazos e custos previstos em obras públicas, principalmente em países em desenvolvimento, gera a necessidade de buscar soluções para este problema. O processo BIM (Building Information Modeling) apresenta-se como alternativa para trazer mais transparência nas etapas de projeto e obra. Neste trabalho, buscou-se investigar a aplicação do processo de projeto em BIM em obras públicas do Centro de Referência de Assistência Social (CRAS) de Santa Catarina, sendo este o primeiro projeto desenvolvido pela Secretaria de Estado do Planejamento (SPG) em BIM. Este trabalho visa analisar reduções de aditivos de prazo e custo, comparando com as mesmas obras realizadas em dois editais, sendo que no Edital A foi utilizado o processo de projeto tradicional (CAD) e no Edital B foi utilizado o processo BIM para o projeto. O trabalho foi desenvolvido em 3 etapas: a primeira refere-se aos projetos desenvolvidos em CAD (Edital A) e engloba 61 obras licitadas, sendo 46 construídas com aditivos de custo e de prazo extremamente elevados; a segunda etapa, com projetos em BIM (Edital B), abrangendo 50 obras; e a última etapa teve por objetivo realizar a comparação entre elas. Para isso foram realizadas entrevistas com envolvidos nos projetos, construção e fiscalização, além de 2 visitas para auxiliar na investigação durante a execução de obras do Edital B. Os resultados apontam que nas obras do Edital B, somente uma delas foi executada dentro do prazo e custo estabelecido originalmente, uma obra possuiu aditivo de prazo e atendeu o custo original e outras 3 obras foram finalizadas com aditivo de prazo e custo até julho de 2018. Embora muitas obras do Edital B tiveram a necessidade de aditivos, os resultados obtidos demonstram ganhos em relação ao Edital A. No que se refere aos aditivos de custo, o projeto desenvolvido no processo BIM, os dados corretos de quantitativo, juntamente com a revisão do projeto foram um dos principais responsáveis pela redução dos aditivos de custo. Os aditivos de prazo sofreram influências diversas, sendo a principal delas com causa desconhecida, observada nos dois editais analisados, além de fatores relacionados à contratação, planejamento e contrapartidas dos municípios. Em aditivos de prazo, fatores relacionados ao projeto apareceram com menor relevância.
The increase of cost and schedule delays in public construction projects, mostly in developing countries, brings the need to find solutions for this issue. BIM process is understood as an alternative to achieve more transparency in the design and constructions stages. This paper aims to investigate the BIM design process of public constructions of Centro de Referência de Assistência Social (CRAS) of Santa Catarina, which is the first project designed by this State in BIM process. This study aims to analyze reductions of costs overruns and schedule delays, comparing the same project in different bids: the Edital A was designed by traditional process (CAD) and the Edital B was designed in BIM process, analyzing the design and construction stage. This study was developed in three stages: the first investigated the projects made in CAD and construction of Edital A, which includes 61 constructions, but only 46 was built, presenting extremely high schedule delays and costs overruns; the second stage aims to analyze the Edital B, with project reviewed and designed in BIM and 50 constructions; and the third stage refers to the comparison between the first and second stage. In addition, interviews were conducted and two visits to the constructions of the Edital B were required. The results indicate that in the constructions completed of the Edital B, only one construction project was finished according to the cost and schedule originally established, one construction had only schedule delay and another tree were concluded with schedule delays and costs overruns until July 2018. Even though, the constructions of Edital B had cost overruns and schedule delay, the results show gains in relation to Edital A. The design in BIM process with the appropriate quantitative takeoff and the review of the original design were the main responsible for the reduction of the cost overruns. In terms of schedule delays, these were influenced by several factors, the main factor has unknown cause and was observed in both analyses (Edital A and B), besides there are factors related to contracting, construction planning and counterparts of municipalities. The causes related to the design process has shown less relevance in terms of schedule delay.

Este trabalho aborda as actividades e os resultados de um programa de intervenção em uma comunidade rural brasileira. Com a proposta metodológica de investigação acção participativa no trabalho descrevemos a localização, a implantação e o projecto para o desenvolvimento sustentável da comunidade rural do Assentamento Gameleira, localizado na região central do Brasil. Foi realizada uma trajectória de construção de relações baseadas no diálogo, com o intuito de promover a participação e a confiança. Após o levantamento das necessidades das famílias participantes, agentes internos e externos foram instrumentalizados por meio de oficinas e cursos com temáticas relacionadas ao desenvolvimento sustentável. Durante este percurso técnico-prático da intervenção foi possível avaliar a forma como o sentimento de comunidade se manifestava e reflectir sobre a maneira como melhor poderia ser aproveitado para o desenvolvimento dos trabalhos em campo. A estrutura deste trabalho conta com uma breve abordagem em torno do conceito de SC e as investigações nesta área. Como base para o estudo de caso adoptamos os elementos propostos por McMillan e Chavis e o índice por eles desenvolvido. Foram aplicados 35 inquéritos e realizadas 4 entrevistas, com pessoas chaves da comunidade. Como resultado os dados demonstram as características de uma organização comunitária recente e com baixa integração entre as pessoas. Na população investigada as variáveis do SC não apresentam grande integração entre elas para a formação de um sentimento que possibilite a identificação enquanto colectivo.

Project-based Language Learning (PBLL) provides students with opportunities to use the target language purposefully and to interact with culturally authentic materials. Because PBLL holds critical benefits for its students, it is important that teachers learn best practices for implementation and how to overcome the challenges that PBLL brings. This study focuses on the experiences of 15 world language teachers as they participated in a PBLL professional development series developed by the National Foreign Language Resource Center (NFLRC) at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa. Findings from this study are based on data gathered from surveys and interviews with a diverse group of educators for the purpose of gaining an understanding of what participants learned and the activities that impacted learning of PBLL. Results show that learning about gold standard elements of PBLL made the biggest impact on participants' pedagogical beliefs and motivated them to change their practice. Activities that positively impacted learning were those that were active, social, and related to practice. Participants were overwhelmed with the amount of content and needed help making connections between the content and their teaching contexts. Overall, participants' experiences in the professional development series led to a change in pedagogical beliefs and a desire to alter their implementation of PBLL.

This thesis focuses on the design and implementation of an economical and energy efficient DC Light Bulb for the DC House Project. For the DC lighting system, emphasis is on the DC-DC LED driver, dimmer circuit, LED lighting array, and physical packing design. In this paper, a DC Light Bulb is designed, simulated, and tested to operate at a wide input voltage ranging from 24 VDC to 72 VDC, to be fully dimmable using pulse-width modulation technique, and to produce lumination intensities equivalent to a standard 100 W A19 incandescent light bulb at one-tenth the total power consumption. The DC Light Bulb’s physical design also takes advantage of the same physical dimensions of a standard A19 incandescent light bulb using an E26 Edison screw base. Results from computer simulations and hardware tests demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed DC Light Bulb in terms of overall efficiency, line regulation, load regulation, power consumption, total lumens, luminous efficacy, and thermal profile.

Triage nursing assessment supports nursing professionals in delivering safe and effective patient care in emergency departments. This staff education project was driven by an observation of inconsistencies in triage among emergency department (ED) nursing staff. The purpose of the project was to improve the triage assessment knowledge of ED nurses. Specifically, the aim was to determine if educating ED nursing staff about using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI), a 5-level triage algorithm and a previously developed tool, would improve nurse knowledge in the triage process. Following discussion with the ED nursing manager at a hospital, a presentation on the ESI was developed and pre- and posttest questions were used to assess and enhance the nursing staff members triage knowledge. The 16 members of the ED nursing staff attended the ESI education session, which was preceded by a pretest and followed by a posttest. The pretest results ranged from 68% to 96% on the 25 items, and the posttest resulted in an increase in test scores. The p value on the sample t test was 0.000, which demonstrated that the training was effective. The outcomes of this project might promote positive social change by helping to ensure that nurses in the ED can improve triage assessment

The outcomes of a child protection/family support programme, the Cottage Community Care Pilot Project, were evaluated in this study. The evaluation employed a non-equivalent comparison group design of 'at risk' consenting first-time mothers in the perinatal period with babies up to 6 weeks of age. Ninety-three families were recruited and 58 of these were matched with a trained volunteer home visitor. Analysis of assessment items and questionnaires, reviews of hospital records and the Department of Community Services Child abuse and neglect notification register and focus groups with mothers and volunteers provided the information used in this study. The CCCP had an impact on particular aspects of family function, certain infant and maternal health indices and the families' use of community services, but its contribution to reducing the incidence of child abuse and neglect is less clear. Client and volunteer feedback indicated support for the programme. While home visitation by trained volunteers is not proposed as the total answer for effective child protection or family support, the findings of this evaluation suggest that there is a place for similar programmes.

The CO2CRC Otway Project aims to demonstrate that CO2 can be safely stored in a depleted gas field and that an appropriate monitoring strategy can be deployed to verify its containment. The project commenced in 2005, with the baseline 3D seismic collected early in January 2008. CO2 was injected into depleted gas reservoir known as Waarre-C at Naylor field in April 2008. The first monitor survey was recorded in January 2009, shortly after the injection of 35,000 tonnes of CO2. Early predictions in the program suggested that the resulting time-lapse seismic effect will be very subtle because of the reservoir depth, small area, complexity, small amount of CO2/CH4 in 80/20 ratio injected and most of all partial saturation of the reservoir sand. The key challenge than presented to this research was how subtle exactly is the effect going to be? To answer that question I had to develop a workflow that will produce very accurate prediction of the elastic property changes in the reservoir caused by CO2 injection. Then the sensitivity of time-lapse seismic methodology in detecting subtle changes in the reservoir is investigated.The rock physics model I propose uses the “effective” grain bulk modulus (Kgrain) to represent the average mineralogy of the grains. The validity of this approach is confirmed by good agreement achieved between Vpsat core with Vpsat computed from the log data using the “effective” modulus. . The use of “effective” Kgrain was further justified by petrographic analysis. This has increased the modelling precision and changed the predicted time-lapse effect due to CO2 injection from 3% as an average over the reservoir sequence as previously computed to nearly 6%. The significance is that 6% change could be detected with high precision monitoring methodologies. The in-situ saturation type is homogeneous, according to the analysis path assumed in this thesis. If some patchiness exists in the reservoir it will be away from the wells and it would further elevate CO2 related seismic effect.The time-lapse seismic methodology at Otway site utilised very high survey density in order to increase sensitivity. On the negative side, weak sources and the change of the source type between the surveys resulted in non-repeatability greater or of the similar order as the time-lapse signal were expected to be. Hence the interpretation of the time-lapse P-wave seismic data assumed somewhat different path. I used the model-based post-stack seismic acoustic inversion in a similar way that history matching is used in reservoir simulation studies. I performed successive fluid substitutions, followed by the well ties and inversions. The objective was to look into the inversion error. Then the modelled fluid saturation case that result in minimal inversion error reflects the most likely state of the reservoir. Modelling using 35,000 tonnes of CO2/CH4 mix with 35% water saturation and 65% CO2/CH4 mix produced the smallest error when reinstating logs to the 2009 reservoir state.The time-lapse anomaly observed in the data exceeds predictions derived through the rock physics model, seismic modelling and simulation models. This is likely to be the case in general as the effect of CO2 onto a reservoir is difficult to predict. A “conservative” approach may result in an under-prediction of time-lapse seismic effects. Consequently, the predicted and measured seismic effects can be used as the lower and the upper bound of the time-lapse effects at Naylor field, respectively. The method presented here for analysis of a subtle time-lapse signal could be applied to the cases with similar challenges elsewhere.

The relationship between project management and procurement as an organisational function is often a clash of wills. The field of project management is ripe with stories of clashes between project managers and procurement officers who, for whatever reason do not work well together. There is no lack of literature on project failure and reasons why projects fail. Available literature concludes that successful projects are defined as those completed on time, within budget, and in ways that meet objectives. The biggest challenge to project managers is to mitigate risk in an environment filled with uncertainties. Marketplace forces such as unstable commodity markets and economic fluctuations are among the competitive forces experienced by project managers. Suppliers play an integral role within the project life cycle and therefore it is essential to ensure that the right suppliers are selected. The role of procurement has changed from functional to strategic and is no longer viewed as a backroom function, which converts requests into supplier orders. The main reason for the change is due to challenging factors such as globalisation, inflation, technological innovations, and fluctuations in exchange rates and commodity markets. Due to the large portion of expenditure spend by the procurement department within the organisation the savings on purchasing costs can have a substantial effect on the profitability of the organisation. Procurement savings initiatives are now far more visible on the agendas of senior management. Selection of the right suppliers is crucial for any organisation striving to achieve the business objectives of the organisation and meet the expectations of customers and shareholders. The procurement department apply certain tools and techniques to select, evaluate, and measure the performance of suppliers. Various tools and techniques are available, the focus of the study is on three of these tools and techniques namely: negotiations, material budgets, and the SESPA(Supplier Evaluation, Selection, and Performance Appraisal) process. According to the literature reviewed, a project life cycle can be broken down into four to five key phases namely: the conceptual, planning, execution, close out, and control phases and procurement process into five steps namely: define the requirements, select the supplier, produce an agreement, administer day-to-day activities, and assess the performance of suppliers. A comparison between the steps within the procurement process and the phases within the project management life cycle reveals commonality and the potential of benefits that the tools and techniques applied by procurement can contribute to the project life cycle. Thus the challenge to the procurement office is how to partner with the project management function in a manner that will positively impact on the project management life cycle and the project success. With these obstacles facing most organisations, it is time for procurement and project management to focus on cooperation instead of confrontation. Developing a culture that sees individual projects as elements of a business plan will require change. There is no lack of literature on resistance to change. Change is seldom easy and old ways die hard, even when there is wide agreement that change is needed. Therefore whatever the reason for change, it is essential for organisations to realise that successful implementation of change will require a systematic change implementation process.

O 2.º Mestrado em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica da Escola Superior de Saúde do Instituto Politécnico de Setúbal contempla a redação de um relatório de trabalho de projeto, onde o mesmo procurará demonstrar a capacidade em identificar problemas e desenvolver soluções, de refletir sobre as ações realizadas e as suas implicações éticas e sociais e de comunicar adequadamente as suas conclusões. Ao longo deste relatório descrevemos todo o processo desenvolvido para a aquisição das Competências Comuns e Específicas do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem em Pessoa em Situação Crítica, efetua-mos ainda uma análise e reflexão do processo de aquisição das competências do mestre em enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica. Com a elaboração deste relatório pretendemos evidenciar o trabalho desenvolvido nos estágios I, II e III correspondentes à Unidade Curricular de Enfermagem Médico-cirúrgica I, e II respetivamente. Neste contexto elaboramos um projeto de intervenção no serviço (PIS), com base na metodologia de trabalho de projeto, tendo como objetivo melhorar a qualidade dos cuidados de enfermagem prestados ao cliente submetido a traqueostomia/traqueotomia. Este trabalho permitiu o desenvolvimento das competências comuns do enfermeiro especialista, momeadamente, no domínio da melhoria continua da qualidade, assim como o desenvolvimento da competência específica: K.1 - “Cuidar da pessoa a vivenciar processos complexos de doença orgânica e/ou falência orgânica” (Regulamento n.º 124/2011). No mesmo contexto de estágio, foram adquiridas e aprofundadas as restantes competências especificas do enfermeiro especialista em MC emanadas pela Ordem dos Enfermeiros, 2011, com a realização do projeto de aprendizagem clínica (PAC), desenvolvido no âmbito da prevenção da infeção associada ao cateterismo intravascular periférico e evacuação de doentes em caso de sinistro. A aquisição do grau de mestre em enfermagem MC com competências de enfermeiro especialista tem por base a realização de todo o trabalho descrito.
Abstract:The 2nd Master’s degree in Surgical and Medical Nursing of Setubal’s Health School of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal, contemplates the composing of a project work report, which seeks to demonstrate the ability to: identify problems and developing solutions, reflect on performed actions and their ethic and social implications and rightly notify their conclusions. Throughout this report we describe all of the process developed for the acquisition of the Common and Specific Skills of the Specialized Nurse in Nursing of the People in Critic Situation, we also prepared an analysis and reflection of the acquisition process of the skills of the Master in Surgical and Medical Nursing. With the collaboration of this report, we intend to point out the developed work on the internships I, II and III correspondent to the Curricular Subject of Surgical and Medical Nursing I and II, respectively. In this context, we elaborated an intervention project on service (IPS), based on the work project methodology, having as a goal to improve the quality of nursing care given to the client submitted to tracheostomy/tracheotomy. This work allowed the development of the common skills of the specialized nurse, namely, on the grasp of the continuum improvement of quality, as in developing specific skills: “Taking care of a person who’s experiencing complex processes of organic disease and/or organic failure.” (Regulation n.º124/2011) On the same internship context, we acquired and deepen the remaining specific skills of the specialized nurse in surgical and medical nursing, issued by the Nursing Order, 2011, with the elaboration of the clinical learning project (CLP), developed on the context of infection prevention associated to peripheral intravascular catheterization and evacuation of patients in sinister conditions. The acquisition of Master’s Degree in SM Nursing with specialized nurse skills is based on the execution of all the described work.

Quality Management (QM) in one of its many forms has become an integral part of contemporary business. Most research in this field was conducted within the context of large business. This study is one of the first to examine QM for small to medium enterprises (SMEs). This article used the action research methodology to explore how a SME located in the southeastern United States implemented a climate of quality. QM implementation in this company was executed in two separate interventions. In the first intervention, the factors of top management commitment, collaboration, data-centered decision making and process focus were implemented using tactics that resulted in an 80% decrease in defects and substantial cost savings. In the second intervention a training system was developed that resulted in a 60% reduction in defects over the measured time period. The study provides an illustrative example of how small businesses can implement a QM climate, and the potential benefits of such climate for the organization.

O presente trabalho tem como objectivo descrever o percurso realizado durante o estágio na editora Relógio d’Água Editores, como parte da componente não-lectiva do mestrado em Edição de Texto. São aqui descritas as várias funções atribuídas ao longo deste percurso, bem como as várias obras trabalhadas, tentando ao mesmo tempo enumerar os processos necessários à sua realização, bem como as dificuldades sentidas durante cada tarefa. Entre as tarefas exercidas destacam-se os processos de preparação de texto e sua revisão, áreas mais abordadas no decurso do estágio. Destaca-se ainda a elaboração de um projecto editorial específico do qual fiquei responsável. Este projecto tem como objectivo a edição de uma colectânea de contos, com vista a um público específico que seria o leitor que lê nos transportes públicos. Neste trabalho é relatado todo o processo desenvolvido no âmbito deste projecto desde a selecção dos textos até à negociação dos direitos de tradução. De novo, relata-se as dificuldades surgidas e métodos de trabalho escolhidos para a boa realização deste projecto.

Engineers Without Borders New Zealand (EWBNZ) has recently reached a stage in its organisational growth where a new strategy is needed to ensure its future engineering development initiatives are more consistent with its guiding philosophy of delivering sustainable long term development projects. A quantitative and qualitative analysis of the perceptions of the committee tasked with delivering projects revealed a preference for a strategy which enabled ‘placement’ type projects. To develop this strategy a qualitative analysis was conducted which focused on ascertaining what strategies and organisational structures are employed by comparable EWB organisations to deliver development projects. This process revealed EWB Australia to have a placement project process model which was deemed as the most acceptable to replicate. An implementation strategy and supporting set of recommendations were provided for this new placement project strategy. The most significant recommendation given to support this new strategy was to concentrate EWBNZ’s resources by prioritising projects in only two of the four countries EWBNZ currently operates. The countries deemed a strategic priority were Samoa and Tonga.

This practice-based project considers what happens when projected video/film is placed in combination with drawing, and vice versa. The research conceives of the staging of video projection installations and related works in terms of their spatial and temporal dimensions. The main approach both in my practice (which focuses on drawing and video installation) and writing, aims to realign the layers of projected images in which bodily engagement performs as discontinuous transition. Since filmic media dematerialize the trope of bodily engagement, the drawing activity seeks its way of survival through performativity, promoting temporal continuity in a ritual manner. The text considers selected works by Pipilotti Rist, Dennis Oppenheim, VALIE EXPORT, Peter Campus, Joan Jonas, and Pablo Picasso in detail. Rist’s work is examined and critically interrogated as an example of immersive illusionistic video installation. Dennis Oppenheim’s Two Stage Transfer Drawing is considered as an example of kinetic transmission through the sensory body, which creates layers of images and screens (or interfaces). Using the physicality of projection, VALIE EXPORT’s Auf+Ab+An+Zu expands its filmic images into the real space, in which participants are invited to mark the real space of the screen. The text asks how this work reconfigures the space-time of its multiple performative elements. Peter Campus’s work is introduced as a productive example of the possibilities of closed-circuit installation. By manipulating the materiality of the screen, Joan Jonas’s complex video performance installations take this possibility even further, generating the screens’ own spatiality and temporality, as in the work Glass Puzzle, which is described in detail. Both of my text and practice focus on the materiality of the screen and consider how it can be rethought or restaged through bodily engagement.

Syftet med studien är att ur pedagogers perspektiv undersöka vilka faktorer som lärarna anser är centrala för att arbetet med Grön Flagg ska leva vidare i skolverksamheten. Studien är en fallstudie av kvalitativ art, där intervjuer, observationer och dokumentanalys har kombinerats. Studien har utförts på två olika skolor. Resultatet av studien visade att det fanns fyra olika faktorer; pedagogernas miljöintresse, skolornas närmiljö, drivande person samt arbetssätt, som pedagogerna ansåg vara viktiga för att driva Grön Flaggprojektet vidare på skolorna. Våra slutsatser är att det är pedagogernas miljöintresse som legat till grund för starten av Grön Flagg och att skolans närmiljö påverkat pedagogernas syn på att förmedla miljömedvetenhet till eleverna. Likaså framkom det att det anses vara viktigt att det fanns en drivande person i projektet, som har det övergripande ansvaret liksom vikten av att ha ett fungerande arbetssättet. Av dessa fyra faktorer visade det sig att arbetssätt är den faktorn som är viktigast för att Grön Flagg ska kunna leva vidare i skolverksamheten.

This research looks at the Internet in relation to art, where art is examined broadly as a cultural, social and economic activity and body of knowledge, and specifically as it features within art and design education at secondary school. It considers the way digital technology features in learning, particularly in the art and design context, examining if and how this relates to the uses made of digital technology - particularly the Internet - by contemporary art practitioners. Recognising a gap here, a web-based art resource (www.dareonline.org) has been devised, created and evaluated trying in some way to bridge this gap, both through its practical usage and - by raising questions in the mind of the user - manifested in the language of its construction. The problems and possibilities of access, communication, collaboration and diversity offered by the use of web-based technologies as demonstrated by a number of artists, set against a generally utilitarian and apparently uncritical view of these technologies offered by statutory education materials, frame this research. The overarching research question, “To what extent is the Internet an appropriate medium for learning through and about contemporary visual art?” was in large part prompted by a consideration of these different perceptions and applications. If artists are using the hybrid and collaborative aspects of digital technology to critique conventional modes of production and exhibition, engaging with issues of identity, authorship and audience, why is most art and technology practice in education focussed solely on the acquisition of skills? In addition, with the Internet being used primarily as a research medium in formal learning, to what extent could an interactive Web resource also be a critical and creative space? These considerations have led to the development of the evaluative questions used to inform the key research question in this study. The development and use of DARE forms a case study, examined by both ethnographic educational research methods and an art practice-based methodology. In combining qualitative research techniques, such as the semi-structured interview and observation, with art-practice-based methods such as the creative reflective journal, the researcher/maker employs a unique hybrid method to reflect on the creation of DARE, its evolution and use and its relationship to other applications of Web-based technology. Having developed, trialled and revised the resource, with the help of secondary school pupils, teachers and PGCE student teachers, conclusions relating to the design and use of DARE are drawn, including recognition of the successes and failures of the aims of the initial project. Key issues and questions are identified to consider how the research question relates to secondary education. The key research findings suggest a number of recommendations, which the evaluation of DARE suggests are in fact interdependent, including the need for young people's creative visual and interpretive responses to be published diversifying the voices (authorship) for the Web's various audiences, highlighting the essential value of dialogue in relation to the form and uses of Webbased (and other) digital media, forming a key element in developing critical digital literacy. This should extend to an examination of the relationship between the digital and other forms of cultural production. Finally, the need for producers of Web-based art educational media to take account of and employ a range of design conventions and devices, as practiced by those net artists who are specifically interrogating the nature of the media and the ideas it can address or convey.

Many organizations have difficulty adopting advanced software development practices. Some software development project managers in large organizations are not aligned with the relationship between performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions, as moderated by experience, with intent to adopt the DevOps practice of continuous delivery. The purpose of this study was to examine the statistical relationships between the independent variables—performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions, as moderated by experience—and the dependent variable of behavioral intent to adopt a continuous delivery system. Venkatesh, Morris, Davis, and Davis's unified theory of acceptance and use of technology provided the theoretical framework. A stepwise multiple linear regression analysis was performed on survey data from 85 technical project managers affiliated with LinkedIn project management groups. The analysis reflected that only performance expectancy was significant in predicting intent to adopt continuous delivery. The findings may contribute to social change by providing project managers with the information they need to support organizational change, collaboration, and facilitation. The knowledge gained may additionally help organizations develop operational efficiency, competitive advantage, and generate higher value to their clients and society.

Este trabalho analisa a política de financiamento estabelecida no convênio de cogestão entre a Secretaria Municipal de Saúde de Campinas e o Serviço de Saúde Dr. Cândido Ferreira (SSCF) desde 1990. A partir do discurso dos profissionais que trabalham nessa instituição, descreve como, no SSCF, fazer política é inerente à prática clínica, às relações de negociação com aquela secretaria, às estratégias de escrita e fabricação de documentos do convênio. A etnografia foi realizada na Comissão de Acompanhamento do Convênio, na Comissão de Moradias, nas reuniões da equipe do Serviço Residencial Terapêutico (SRT), num curso de capacitação para os profissionais desse serviço e num evento comemorativo dos 20 anos de sua implementação. As modificações decorrentes do processo de reforma no modelo psiquiátrico, descritas com base no discurso mnemônico dos profissionais, e seus efeitos na vida de uma moradora do SRT revelam os rearranjos técnicos e arquitetônicos que produziram a reabilitação dos internos, o Projeto Terapêutico Individual (PTI) e uma rede de assistência. No SRT, foi instituída uma ―tecnologia de cuidado‖, elaborada a partir da singularidade dos usuários, que articula procedimentos e saberes não somente psiquiátricos, mas também clínicos, psicológicos e geriátricos, em intervenções de acompanhamento (controle contínuo), monitoramento (vigilância a distância) e gestão com o objetivo de governar a conduta e o projeto de vida daqueles. A ―clínica do detalhe‖, o ―manejo terapêutico‖ e a ―relação de cogestão‖ permitem à equipe avaliar, calcular e problematizar a demanda singular do usuário, racionalizada em dados que são registrados em documentos e transformados em parâmetros que disseminam as informações entre os profissionais e possibilitam medir a efetividade das intervenções terapêuticas, bem como aperfeiçoá-las, planejá-las e gerenciar as metas do SRT. Essa forma de proceder, que transmuta as informações em conhecimento singular, que as inscreve em documentos e as torna visíveis aos administradores municipais, justifica o financiamento e autoriza as práticas de governo no SRT.
This work analyzes the established funding policy in co-management agreement between the Municipal Health Sector Campinas and the Health Service Dr. Cândido Ferreira (Serviço de Saúde Dr. Cândido Ferreira–SSCF) since 1990. From the professionals‘ speech who works in this institution, I describe how, in the SSCF, making politics is inherent to the clinical practice, the negotiating relationship with that Health Sector, the writing strategies and manufacturing agreement documents. The ethnography was held at the Agreement Monitoring Commission, at the House Commission, at the meeting of the Therapeutic Residential Services‘ Team (Serviço Residencial Terapêutico–SRT) and at one training course of this professionals in this area and at commemorative event of the 20 years of its implementation. The changes arising from the reform process within the psychiatric model, described was based on mnemonic professional‘s speech, and its effects on the life of one resident of SRT, reveals the technical and architectural rearrangements that produced the rehabilitation of the inmates, the Individual Therapeutic Project and to a support network. In SRT, a ―care technology‖ was implemented, drawn from the singularity of users, combining not only psychiatric procedures and knowledge, but also clinical, psychological and geriatric in monitoring interventions (continuous control), monitoring (monitoring the distance) and management in order to govern the conduct and the life project of those. The ―clinic of detail‖, the ―therapeutic management‖ and the ―co-management relationship‖ allows the team to evaluate, calculate and discuss the individual demand, rationalized in data which are recorded in documents and made into parameters that disseminate information between professionals enabling the latter to measure the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and improve them, plan them and manage the SRT goals. This way of proceeding, that transmutes the information in singular knowledge that subscribe thus into documents and makes them visible to the municipal administrators, justifies funding and authorizes the government practices to the SRT.

Organisationer med komplexa projekt som sträcker sig över ett flertal år finner svårigheter att förhålla sig till projektens fördefinierade parametrar tid, kostnad och omfattning. Skenande kostnader och förseningar är vanligt förekommande i dessa typer av projekt, då projekten omfattar ett samspel av ett flertal aktiviteter och där projektets omfattning ofta förändras. Det finns metoder som verksamheter kan tillämpa för att kontrollera ovannämnda parametrar och i ett tidigt skede kunna identifiera när någon av parametrar tenderar att överskridas. En metod som styrker prestationsmätningar är Earned Value Mangament, EVM. Syftet med studien var att identifiera vart organisationer brister gentemot branschstandarden inom EVM, ANSI/EIA-748. Standarden innehåller viktiga steg för att kunna utföra en korrekt prestationsmätning tillsammans med teorin från Earned Value Management. Resultat studien presentera indikerar på att organisationer måste skapa tydliga riktlinjer hur ANSI/EIA-748 skall tillämpas. Till exempel att alla bryter ner arbetet och fördelar sina budgetar på samma sätt. Studiens resultat antyder också att Rolling Wave är ett lämpligt verktyg för komplexa och långa projekt. Av den anledningen att projektledare inte planerar för mycket i onödan eftersom projektets omfattning ständigt förändras.

O tema desta pesquisa éhabilidades de leitura de poemas. Os problemas que motivaram a pesquisa foram: a constatação de que, para mim e para muitos professores, desenvolver práticas didáticas em que as habilidades de leitura do gênero poema sejam contempladas constitui um desafio; a observação de que os alunos não demonstram interesse pela leitura de poema, apesar do valor desse gênero discursivo para formação do leitor; as dúvidas sobre como preparar os alunos para avaliações externas, como Prova Brasil, ENEM, e SARESP. Meu interesse pelo tema encontrou acolhimento no projeto OBSERVATÓRIO/UNITAU 2011-2014: `Competências e habilidades de leitura: da reflexão teórica ao desenvolvimento e aplicação de propostas didático-pedagógicas, n23038010000201076, financiado por CAPES/INEP. O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é oferecer uma contribuição ao Projeto Observatório/UNITAU e aos demais educadores que vierem a conhecer este trabalho de transposição didática de atividades que enfocam habilidades de leitura de poemas e de reflexão sobre os resultados na sala de aula em que se desenvolveu. Especificamente, a pesquisa objetiva: 1) identificar as características das questões do SARESP, de 2003 a 2007, que cobram habilidades de leitura de poemas da fim de subsidiar a proposta de trabalho de leitura em sala de aula; 2) desenvolver atividades de leitura de poemas, a partir de sequência didática elaborada por participantes do Projeto Observatório/UNITAU, com 30 alunos do 7 ano do Ensino Fundamental II, de uma escola particular da cidade de São Paulo.A Matriz do SARESP (SÃO PAULO, 2009) é utilizadacomo fundamentação legal para as habilidades de leitura exigidas nas provas externas, uma vez que contempla também as exigências da Prova Brasil. A fundamentação teórica desta pesquisa baseia-se na perspectiva sociocognitiva de leitura; na concepção bakhtiniana da linguagem e de gêneros discursivos e nos aspectos constitutivos do gênero discursivo poema. Metodologicamente, realizou-se umapesquisa quantitativa e qualitativadas questões sobre poema das provas SARESP de 2003 a 2007 e uma pesquisa-ação com os alunos sujeitos da pesquisa.Como resultados da análise das provas do SARESP, observou-se quevem aumentando o número de questões sobre poemas, chegando a 8 em 2007, e que as questões exigem inferências a partir do tema e dos recursos lingüísticos de cada poema, abrangendo várias habilidade de leitura. Como resultados da pesquisa-ação, constatou-seque os alunos participaram com empenho das atividades de leitura de poemas propostas e que a sequência didática de leitura contempla as habilidades cobradas pelas provas externas e facilita a apropriação pelos alunos das principais características dos poemas. Sendo assim, conclui-se que a leiturade poemas, por meio de uma sequência didática nos moldes da utilizada nesta pesquisa, deve fazer parte do currículo do 7 ano do Ensino Fundamental.
The theme of this research is reading comprehension abilitiesof poems . The problems that motivated the research were : the perspective that for me and for many teachers, developing teaching practices that reading comprehension abilities are reflected in the poem genre is a challenge , observing that students do not show interest in reading poem, although the value of this discourse genre training for the reader ; some doubts about preparing students for external exams as Prova Brasil , Enem , and SARESP . My interest in thissubject found acquaintance in the project OBSERVATORIO / UNITAU 2011-2014 : ` Competences and habilities on reading : from theoretical reflection to the development and implementation of educational and pedagogical proposals , reference numeber 23038010000201076 , sponsored by CAPES / INEP . The overall objective of this research is to provide a contribution to the Project Observatório / UNITAU and other educators who migh learn about this essay of didactic transposition activities focused onreading comprehension abilities of poems and reflection on the results in the classroom in which it was developped . Specifically , the research aims to : 1 ) to identify the characteristics of the questions on SARESP , 2003-2007 , which requires reading comprehension abilities of the poems to support the proposed work of reading in the classroom , 2) to develop reading activities poems from instructional sequence developed by attendeesof project Observatorio / UNITAU , within 30 students of 7th grade of high schhol, enrolled in a private school in São Paulo City . The Matrice of SARESP ( SÃO PAULO , 2009) is used as a legal basis for reading comprehension abilities required in external exams, since it also includes the requirements Prova Brasil . The theoretical foundation of this research is based on socio-cognitive perspective of reading; in Bakhtinian conception of language and speech genres and constitutive aspects of gender discourse poem. Methodologically , a quantitative and qualitative research was carried outtowards questions about the poem and examsof SARESP 2003-2007 and a quiz with students targeted on the research. As results of the analysis of SARESPs exams , it was noticed that there is growing number of questions about poems , reaching to 8 in 2007 , and that the questions require inferences from the subject and the linguistic resources of each poem, covering various reading comprehension abilities. As a result of the research, it was observed that students who participated with commitment on the activitiesoffered reading poems and the instructional sequence incorporates reading comprehension abilitiesrequired by external emaxs and facilitates ownership by students of the main features of the poems. Therefore , it is concluded that reading poems through a teaching sequence in themodel used in this study , should be part of the curriculum of the 7th grade high school.

For organisations to stay competitive, continuous improvements and development are needed.Organisations handling complex services, structured in projects, find difficulties in understanding the project performance. Understanding the project performance is important in order to achieve the ability to implement improvements and development activities in projects. Furthermore, project performance needs to be understandable for the whole organisation in order to be able to prioritize. There are several applicable methods available for handling the evaluation of performance. One method is Earned Value Management, EVM, which incorporates project scope, schedule and cost parameters in order to create project control.The purpose of this study is to investigate how EVM could be implemented for evaluating performance in projects handling repair and maintenance based on the EVM standard ANSI/EIA-748. The purpose is also to identify needed adaptations in the projects to make it possible to implement EVM. The EVM standard contains important steps and activities needed in order to be able to aggregate values and evaluate performance.The result of this study presents adaptations needed for EVM implementation based on the EVM standard ANSI/EIA-748. The study concludes that some structural and managerial changes need to be done before EVM can be implemented. The organisation needs to formulate common guidelines for structuring work and organisations, as well as formulate and define common reporting structures for documentation and reporting. In addition, the way of handling planning, and budgeting need to be reviewed and customised. The organisation also needs to continuously work with the knowledge and understanding about the importance of the business and the evaluation, to create a successful EVM implementation and a sustainable business.
För att organisationer ska kunna vara konkurrenskraftiga krävs kontinuerlig förbättring och utveckling. Organisationer som är organiserade i projekt och som hanterar komplexa tjänster, finner svårigheter i att förstå projektets prestation. Detta är viktigt för att kunna genomföra förbättringar och utvecklingsaktiviteter. Dessutom måste projektets prestation kunna förstås av hela organisationen för att skapa möjligheter att prioritera. Det finns flera tillgängliga metoder som kan användas för att hantera detta. En metod är Earned Value Management (EVM), som innehåller projektomfång, tidsplan och kostnadsparametrar för att skapa projektstyrning.Syftet med denna studie är att undersöka hur EVM kan implementeras för att utvärdera prestanda i projekt som hanterar service och underhåll, baserat på EVM-standarden ANSI/ EIA-748. Syftet är också att identifiera nödvändiga anpassningar i projekten, för att göra det möjligt att implementera EVM. EVM-standarden innehåller viktiga steg och aktiviteter som krävs för att kunna aggregera värden och utvärdera prestanda.Resultatet av denna studie presenterar anpassningar som behövs för implementering av EVM, baserat på EVM-standarden ANSI / EIA-748. Studien drar slutsatsen att vissa strukturella och ledande förändringar måste göras innan EVM kan implementeras. Organisationen måste formulera gemensamma riktlinjer för strukturering av arbete och organisationer, samt formulera och definiera gemensamma strukturer för dokumentation och rapportering. Dessutom måste sättet att hantera planering och budgetering granskas och anpassas. Organisationen måste också kontinuerligt arbeta med kunskap och förståelse om verksamhetens betydelse och utvärdering, för att skapa en framgångsrik EVM-implementering och en hållbar verksamhet.

The Primary Health Care (PHC) is shown as a strategic space for the exercise of management and evaluation in health. In this scenario, the coordination of care is considered one of its four key attributes. This is understood by the ability to ensure continuity of care in the service network and the identification of issues that are addressed in other levels of the network. In this sense, this research aims to evaluate the PHC quality in the municipalities of the 4ªCRS / RS by checking the coordination of care, by applying the PCATool (Brazil) at the top-level health professionals and service users health, ≥ 18 years and whose access was not the first. This is a quantitative approach to research with cross-sectional design. Data collection was carried out from February to August 2015, the PHC services in the municipalities of the 4th CRS / RS / BR. The study population included 1,071 adults and 203 professionals working in PHC. Data collection was conducted through interviews by applying the research protocol (demographic questionnaire and PCATool-Brazil version Adult and Professional) and was held in a computerized manner. Data were collected using Epi Info 7.0 program and automatically extracted for notebooks. The analysis was performed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 19.0 for Windows. scores were the Attention Coordination attribute. Please note that the ethical aspects of research involving human beings were respected, according to the National Health Council Resolution 422/12. The results revealed by this study show that the Warning Coordination attribute was evaluated as satisfactory, that is, obtained a Top rated in dimensions Integration and Care Information System, both in the adult version and the professional version. In the adult version scores in dimension Care Integration were: the Basic Health Units (BHU) 6.66 (6.28 to 7.03), in the Family Health Strategy (ESF) 6.34 (5.94 -6.73) and in mixed UBS 6.87 (6.30 to 7.43); the scores in the dimension Information System were: the UBS 7.22 (7.02 to 7.41), the ESF 7.09 (6.88 to 7.29) and in mixed UBS 7.26 (6.94 -7.57). In the professional version scores in dimension Care Integration were: the UBS 6.34 (5.79 to 6.88), the ESF 6.41 (6.01 to 6.80) and in mixed UBS 6.74 ( 6.24 to 7.23); the scores in the dimension Information System were: the UBS 8.84 (8.22 to 9.45), the ESF 8.77 (8.40 to 9.13) and in mixed UBS 8.54 (8.03 -9.04). The results presented in this study have important implications for the evaluated services and also for public policy attention to health of the 32 municipalities that make up the two health regions studied. In addition to strengthening the development of evaluation studies in order to improve the quality of PHC and coordination of care.
A Atenção Primária à Saúde (APS) mostra-se como um espaço estratégico para o exercício da gestão e avaliação em saúde. Neste cenário, a coordenação da atenção é considerada um dentre os seus quatro atributos essenciais. Esta é compreendida pela capacidade de garantir a continuidade da atenção na rede de serviços, bem como a identificação de problemas que são abordados em outros níveis da rede. Nesse sentido, a presente pesquisa tem como objetivo avaliar a qualidade da APS nos municípios que integram a 4ªCRS/RS por meio da verificação da coordenação da atenção, mediante a aplicação do PCATool (Brasil) aos profissionais de saúde de nível superior e usuários dos serviços de saúde, ≥ 18 anos e cujo o acesso não fosse o primeiro. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de abordagem quantitativa com delineamento transversal. A coleta de dados foi desenvolvida de fevereiro a agosto de 2015, nos serviços de APS nos municípios da 4ª CRS/RS/BR. A população do estudo contemplou 1.071 usuários adultos e 203 profissionais atuantes na APS. A coleta dos dados foi realizada por meio de entrevista mediante aplicação do protocolo de pesquisa (questionário sócio demográfico e PCATool-Brasil versão Adulto e Profissional) e foi realizada de maneira informatizada. Os dados foram coletados no Programa Epi Info 7.0 e extraídos automaticamente para notebooks. A análise foi realizada no Programa Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS®), versão 19.0 for Windows. Foram construídos escores do atributo Coordenação da Atenção. Salienta-se que foram respeitados os aspectos éticos das pesquisas com seres humanos, seguindo a Resolução 422/12 do Conselho Nacional de Saúde. Os resultados revelados pelo presente estudo mostram que o atributo Coordenação da Atenção foi avaliado como satisfatório, ou seja, obteve uma alta avaliação nas dimensões Integração de Cuidados e Sistema de Informações, tanto na versão adulto quanto na versão profissional. Na versão adulto os escores na dimensão Integração de Cuidados foram de: nas Unidades Básicas de Saúde (UBS) 6,66 (6,28-7,03), nas Estratégias de Saúde da Família (ESF) 6,34 (5,94-6,73) e nas UBS mistas 6,87 (6,30-7,43); os escores na dimensão Sistema de Informação foram de: nas UBS 7,22 (7,02-7,41), nas ESF 7,09 (6,88-7,29) e nas UBS mistas 7,26 (6,94-7,57). Na versão profissional os escores na dimensão Integração de Cuidados foram de: nas UBS 6,34 (5,79-6,88), nas ESF 6,41 (6,01-6,80) e nas UBS mistas 6,74 (6,24-7,23); os escores na dimensão Sistema de Informação foram de: nas UBS 8,84 (8,22-9,45), nas ESF 8,77 (8,40-9,13) e nas UBS mistas 8,54 (8,03-9,04). Os resultados apresentados neste estudo trazem importantes implicações para os serviços avaliados e também para as políticas públicas de atenção a saúde dos 32 municípios que compõe as duas regiões de saúde estudadas. Além de reforçar o desenvolvimento de estudos avaliativos a fim de melhorar a qualidade da APS e da coordenação da atenção.

School building design that uses as much as possible the principles of bioclimatic architecture can ensure appropriate thermal comfort of users of these spaces, the satisfactory development of school activities and energy efficiency of the built environment. During a building design process it is important to take into account the local climate, in order to achieve occupants comfort. In the context, of school buildings, frequently those constructions are made in disaccord with climate exposure that, consequently, may generate uncomfortable thermal environments that, if not resolved with, artificial climate control strategies, can generate negative overall performance of students and teachers in the teaching and learning process. On the other hand, when using those active indoor control strategies, , it is important to consider the building energy efficiency, natural climate control mechanisms as much as possible supplemented by artificial ones. Thus, the objective of this research is to discuss constructive guidelines for school projects in the city of Maceió-AL for satisfactory thermal performance purposes and consequently, appropriate thermal comfort to their occupants. As methodological procedures, school units in the city were initially chosen and analyzed, observing the constructive materials, surroundings features, siting and location, solar and wind orientation, plan solution, orientation and distribution of openings, in accord with bioclimatic design strategies for hot and humid climate. From these initial analyses, computational simulations were carried out in a design building model based on fixed design parameters (dimensions of classrooms, colors of facades, ceiling height, openings, number of students, architectural program requirements, and materials of the frames) and variables ones (school buildings plan types and the position of classrooms in relation to corridor, orientation of facades, walls and roofing materials). The results showed design alternatives based on the hot and humid climate of Maceió, which may assist future interventions and the design of new architectural projects, particularly school building design, enabling more thermally comfortable indoor environments.

Projetos escolares que resgatam ao máximo possível os princípios da arquitetura bioclimática podem garantir o adequado conforto térmico dos usuários desses espaços, o satisfatório desenvolvimento das atividades escolares e a eficiência energética do ambiente construído. Ao se projetar uma edificação é importante levar em consideração o clima local, a fim de garantir uma qualidade arquitetônica que responda às necessidades de conforto de seus usuários. Neste contexto, no âmbito das edificações escolares, percebe-se que muitas vezes estas são projetadas em desacordo com o clima da região. Consequentemente podem gerar ambientes termicamente desconfortáveis e que, se não solucionados com o uso da climatização artificial, podem prejudicar o desempenho de alunos e professores no processo de ensino e aprendizagem. Por outro lado, ao utilizar climatização artificial, é importante prezar pela eficiência energética, através do uso racional de energia, visando à possibilidade de utilização dos mecanismos naturais o máximo possível, e dos artificiais de forma complementar. Neste contexto, o objetivo dessa pesquisa é estabelecer diretrizes construtivas para projetos de escolas em Maceió-AL com vistas a um melhor desempenho térmico e consequentemente, maior conforto térmico a seus usuários. Como procedimentos metodológicos foram, inicialmente, escolhidas e analisadas unidades escolares na cidade, quanto aos materiais empregados, entorno, implantação no terreno, orientação solar, ventos dominantes, solução em planta, orientação e distribuição das aberturas, com base nas estratégias bioclimáticas recomendadas para o clima quente e úmido, a fim de analisar a influência desses parâmetros nas condições termo higrométricas dessas edificações. A partir dessas análises iniciais, foram realizadas simulações computacionais em um projeto com base em parâmetros fixos (dimensões das salas de aula, cores das fachadas, pé direito, aberturas, número de alunos, programa de necessidades, e materiais das esquadrias) e variáveis (tipologias das edificações escolares quanto ao conjunto de salas de aula em relação ao corredor de circulação, orientação das fachadas, materiais da cobertura e das paredes) estipulados. Os resultados obtidos apontaram alternativas de projetos baseadas no clima quente e úmido de Maceió, que podem auxiliar futuras intervenções e na concepção de novos projetos, em especial instituições escolares, possibilitando ambientes mais confortáveis termicamente.

Esta pesquisa tem como tema o desenvolvimento das habilidades de leitura nos alunos do 8 ano/7 série de uma escola no interior do estado de São Paulo. Após a análise dos resultados do Sistema de Avaliação de Rendimento Escolar do Estado de São Paulo SARESP do ano de 2012 e da Avaliação de Aprendizagem em Processo AAP, aplicada pela Secretaria da Educação do Estado de São Paulo (SEESP) em 2012 e em 2013, verificou-se a necessidade de um trabalho mais sistemático para que os alunos ampliassem sua competência leitora de diferentes gêneros discursivos. O objetivo geral de pesquisa foi contribuir para o desenvolvimento de habilidades de leitura de alunos do ensino fundamental por meio da reflexão sobre as exigências do SARESP e as possibilidades e benefícios de atividades de leitura desenvolvidas nas aulas de Língua Portuguesa de duas salas de 7 série/8 ano de uma escola da Rede Estadual de Ensino do Estado de São Paulo. Tal objetivo encontrou respaldo no projeto OBSERVATÓRIO/UNITAU 2011-2014: `Competências e habilidades de leitura: da reflexão teórica ao desenvolvimento e aplicação de propostas didático-pedagógicas, n23038010000201076, financiado por CAPES/INEP. Especificamente, os objetivos da pesquisa são: 1) Analisar os resultados dos alunos de 6 série/7 ano de uma escola da Rede Estadual de Ensino do Estado de São Paulo na prova de Língua Portuguesa do SARESP 2012 e na AAP 2013, com os mesmos alunos já na 7 série/8 ano; 2) Definir um plano de ação para o desenvolvimento das habilidades de leitura em que esses alunos mostraram mais dificuldades; 3) Desenvolver esse plano de ação em duas salas de 7série/8 ano da escola, durante o ano letivo de 2013, e refletir sobre esse trabalho. Teoricamente, esta pesquisa se baseia na concepção sociocognitiva de leitura, na concepção bakhtiniana de linguagem e gênero discursivo, no conceito de sequência didática proposto por Dolz; Noverraz e Schneuwly (2004, p. 97). Os documentos oficiais sobre a Prova Brasil (BRASIL, 2008) e o SARESP serão utilizados para contextualização das diretrizes educacionais vigentes. Esta pesquisa se desenvolveu metodologicamente por: 1) uma análise qualitativa dos resultados do SARESP 2012 e da AAP 2013; 2) uma pesquisa-ação para o desenvolvimento de um plano de ação focado em habilidades de leitura dos alunos de duas salas de 7série/8 ano. Essas habilidades foram trabalhadas por meio de sequências didáticas de leitura dos gêneros discursivos Tira, Crônica, Fábula e Memórias Literárias, Propaganda social e Propaganda de produtos, a partir de coletâneas de textos desses gêneros. Ao final da etapa de leitura de cada gênero, os alunos realizaram atividades de verificação no formato de questões de múltipla escolha, com características semelhantes às questões da Prova SARESP. Os resultados evidenciaram que, com a prática de leitura sistematizada por sequências didáticas, os alunos se apropriam de características dos gêneros discursivos bem como de estratégias de leitura que contribuem muito para o desenvolvimento de habilidades leitoras. As avaliações realizadas após cada etapa desta pesquisa-ação comprovaram isso. Conclui-se que o trabalho de leitura seguindo sequências didáticas e utilizando diferentes gêneros discursivos é o caminho para desenvolver nos alunos as habilidades de leituras exigidas para que eles sejam leitores proficientes.
The theme of this research is the development of reading skills in students of the 8th/7th grade at a school in the interior of the State of São Paulo. After analyzing the results of the 2012 `Sistema de Avaliação de Rendimento Escolar do Estado de São Paulo - SARESP (State of São Paulos Evaluation of Educational Achievement System) - and the 2013 `Avaliação de Aprendizagem em Processo - AAP (Assessment of Learning in Process), applied by the Department of Education of the State of São Paulo (SEESP) in 2012 and in 2013, there was a need for a more systematic work for students to extend their reading competence of different speech genres. The overall aim of this research was to contribute to the development of reading skills of elementary school students through reflection on the demands of SARESP and the possibilities and benefits of reading activities in Portuguese Language classes in two 7th/8th grade classrooms of a state school in São Paulo. The goal found support on UNITAU Education Observatory `reading competences and skills; from theoretical reflection to the development and implementation of educational and pedagogical proposals, number 23038010000201076, sponsored by CAPES / INEP. Specifically, the objectives of the research are: 1) compare the results of the 6th /7th graders in a State School in São Paulo in the Portuguese language test of the 2012 SARESP and the 2013 AAP to their results in the 7th/ 8th grade ; 2) Set an action plan for the development of the reading skills these students showed more difficulties in; 3) develop the plan of action in two rooms of grade 7th / 8th grade, during the school year of 2013 and reflect on this work. Theoretically, this research is based on the socio-cognitive conception of reading, on Bakhtins conception of language and speech genre and on the concept of didactic sequence proposed by Dolz; Noverraz and Schneuwly (2004, p. 97). Official documents on the `Prova Brasil (BRAZIL, 2008) and SARESP will be used to contextualize the current educational guidelines. This research is methodologically developed by: 1) a qualitative analysis of the results of the 2012 SARESP and the 2013 AAP ; 2) an action research to develop an action plan focused on the reading skills of students in two 7th /8th grade classrooms. These skills were worked through teaching reading sequences with the speech genres: Strips, Chronicles, Fables and Literary Memoirs, Social Advertising and Advertising of Products, from collections of texts in these genres. At the end of each reading stage of a given genre, students performed verification activities using multiple choice questions, with questions similar to SARESPs questions. The results showed that with the systematic practice of reading using didactic sequences, students understand and learn the characteristics of speech genres and reading strategies that contribute greatly to the development of reading skills. The evaluations performed after each step of this action research have proven that. We conclude that the work of reading following teaching sequences and using different speech genres is the way to develop student‟s required reading skills so that they become proficient readers .

This paper discusses the relations among indigenism, development and socioreligous movements among the Ramkokamekra-Canela, group classified in the linguistic family Jê-Timbira and located in the south of Barra do Corda City, current Fernando Falcão. Initially, I analyse the process of territorialization of the Capiekran, Sakamekran, and others Timbira groups, from whom the current Ramkokamekra-Canela emerged, and their insertion in the pastoral situation, by the actions of the expansionist front and of colonial administration in the Maranhão in 19th century, as well as the dynamics of this situation, under the action of the tutor power made by SPI, during the first half of the 20th century. I consider the regional transformations of the economy and of the official indigenism in the following decades, under the auspices of the development and the performance of researchers in the implementation of communitarian projects, as background of new socioreligious movements among the Ramkokamekra. I describe four socioreligious movements occurrences in the years of 1963, 1980, 1984 and 1999, which are analyzed considering the respective intersociety contexts and elements of timbira cosmology, especially the myth of Aukhê, had as the founding myth of the contact between these groups. Therefore, the Canela messianic movements can be considered as ways of resistance to the domination and a search of equalization in the intersociety relations.
O trabalho versa sobre as relações entre indigenismo, desenvolvimento e movimentos sócioreligiosos entre os Ramkokamekra-Canela, grupo classificado na família lingüística Jê-Timbira e localizado ao sul do Município de Barra do Corda, atual Fernando Falcão. Inicialmente, abordo o processo de territorialização dos Capiekran, Sakamekran e de outros grupos timbira, do qual emergiram os atuais Ramkokamekra-Canela, e sua inserção na situação pastoril, pela ação das frentes expansionistas e da administração colonial no Maranhão no século XIX, bem como a dinâmica dessa situação, sob a ação do poder tutelar exercido pelo SPI, durante a primeira metade do século XX. Considero as transformações econômicas regionais e do indigenismo oficial nas décadas seguintes, sob a égide do desenvolvimento e a atuação de pesquisadores na implementação de projetos comunitários, como desencadeadores de novos movimentos sócioreligiosos entre os Ramkokamekra. Descrevo quatro movimentos sócio-religiosos ocorridos nos anos de 1963, 1980, 1984 e 1999, os quais são analisados em função dos respectivos contextos intersocietários e de elementos da cosmologia timbira, especialmente o mito de Aukhê, tido como o mito fundador do contato entre esses grupos. Nesse sentido, os movimentos messiânicos Canela podem ser considerados como modos de resistência à dominação e de busca de equiparação nas relações intersocietárias.
