The main goal of this Master’s thesis is to describe relationship between low frequency noise spectral characteristics of Cadmium-Telluride radiation detectors depending on applied voltage and detectors reaction to illumination of various wavelengths. This work is focused on the study of luminescence of atomic thin layers of transition metal chalkogenides (eg. MoS2). In the experimental part, the work deals with the preparation of atomic thin layers of semiconducting chalcogenides and the subsequent manufacturing of plasmonic interference structures around these layers. The illumination of the interference structure will create a standing plasmonic wave that will excite the photoluminescence of the semiconductor. Fundamental magnetic properties have been studied in RFexAl12-x (R - heavy rare-earth element) compounds with the tetragonal crystal structure of the ThMn12 type. In the homogeneity range 4 ≤ x ≤ 6, exchange interactions and magnetocrystalline anisotropy of the Fe sublattice are significantly modified as found in LuFexAl12-x with non-magnetic Lu. In these diploma thesis magnetically ordered materials are studied with the prospect of their application in spintronics. Specifically, we investigated metallic alloy FeRh, which undergoes a magnetic phase transition from antife- romagnetic phase to feromagnetic one around 100◦ C. This phenomenon can be readily used in memory devices. Laser spectroscopy is used as a nondestructive method without need of any electrical contacts. For diagnostic applications, they are used as contrast agents for imaging techniques such as MRI, PET or SPECT. In therapy, complexes of beta or alpha particle- emitting radionuclides are used.
