Maurelli, Olivier. „Effets d'une saison de compétition sur les caractéristiques musculaires, biologiques et psychologiques de joueurs de handball de niveau international“. Thesis, Amiens, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018AMIE0062/document.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe objective of this thesis was to analyze the influence of a sports season on the physical, physiological and psychological characteristics of handball players of the Montpellier Agglomération Handball club, one of the best European clubs. At first (Study 1), we were interested in the evolution of the isokinetic muscular profile of the lower limbs during the pre-competitive preparation phase (Pc2P). Although this period is short (8 weeks), our results show that most of the values of strength, power (at 30±.s¡1, 60±.s¡1 and 240±.s¡1, in concentric and eccentric), and different ratios (agonist vs antagonist, dominant vs non-dominant as wellas mixed ratio) increase significantly during Pc2P. In a second phase (Study 2), we were interested in the evolution of the isokinetic muscular profile of the lower limbs during the competition period. Our results show that a competitive season does not significantly affect the evolution of most of isokinetic parameters. Finally, during our 3rd work, we studied the evolution of many markers (biological, physiological and psychological) during a sports season. The main results of our work show (i) a decrease in the mean values of VFC concerning HF and RMSSD values, coupled with a slight increase in HR in T4, suggesting a decrease inparasympathetic activity in the supine position, (ii) an increase in the values in the T4 fitness questionnaire and (iii) a decrease in the values of [C]sg , [F]sg , IGF-1 and Hematocrit, respectively in T5 and T4. Testosterone results show a significant increase in T5. They showed no significant change in CPK and IGFBP-3 values. This work emphasizes the need to develop the strength and power qualities most effectively during Pc2P and to target the most e-relevant markers for longitudinal tracking of handball players

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn comparison with adults, children have lower pulmonary capacity and maximal expiratory flows. In addition children presents high levels of ventilation and PCO2 for a given exercise intensity which testifies that their exercise ventilation is inefficient. For these reasons, children could rich more easily the limit of the gas exchange system during heavy exercise. The aim of this work was first to test wether mechanical ventilatory constraints and gas exchange impairment exist during exercise in prepubescent children according to their level of physical activity. The first part of this work shows that the prepubescent children are prone to the mechanical ventilatory constraints during exercise. Moreover the results of these studies show that these constraints are potentiated in trained children. During exercise, these ventilatory constraints may be implicated in gas exchange impairment observed for trained subjects. The second aim was to study if a eight-week period of intermittent running training may modify resting lung function and exercise ventilation. The second part shows that a short runnning training program improves resting lung function and compensates for the increase in the ventilatory demand with training. As balance between respiratory capacity and ventilatory demand is maintained, mechanical ventilatory constraints remain unchanged with training
Ortiz, Suarez Pedro. „A Data-driven Approach to Natural Language Processing for Contemporary and Historical French“. Electronic Thesis or Diss., Sorbonne université, 2022. http://www.theses.fr/2022SORUS155.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn recent years, neural methods for Natural Language Processing (NLP) have consistently and repeatedly improved the state of the art in a wide variety of NLP tasks. One of the main contributing reasons for this steady improvement is the increased use of transfer learning techniques. These methods consist in taking a pre-trained model and reusing it, with little to no further training, to solve other tasks. Even though these models have clear advantages, their main drawback is the amount of data that is needed to pre-train them. The lack of availability of large-scale data previously hindered the development of such models for contemporary French, and even more so for its historical states. In this thesis, we focus on developing corpora for the pre-training of these transfer learning architectures. This approach proves to be extremely effective, as we are able to establish a new state of the art for a wide range of tasks in NLP for contemporary, medieval and early modern French as well as for six other contemporary languages. Furthermore, we are able to determine, not only that these models are extremely sensitive to pre-training data quality, heterogeneity and balance, but we also show that these three features are better predictors of the pre-trained models' performance in downstream tasks than the pre-training data size itself. In fact, we determine that the importance of the pre-training dataset size was largely overestimated, as we are able to repeatedly show that such models can be pre-trained with corpora of a modest size

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis is positioned at the intersection of several research fields, Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval (IR) and Computer Vision, which have unified around representation learning and pre-training methods. In this context, we have defined and studied a new multimodal task: Knowledge-based Visual Question Answering about Named Entities (KVQAE).In this context, we were particularly interested in cross-modal interactions and different ways of representing named entities. We also focused on data used to train and, more importantly, evaluate Question Answering systems through different metrics.More specifically, we proposed a dataset for this purpose, the first in KVQAE comprising various types of entities. We also defined an experimental framework for dealing with KVQAE in two stages through an unstructured knowledge base and identified IR as the main bottleneck of KVQAE, especially for questions about non-person entities. To improve the IR stage, we studied different multimodal fusion methods, which are pre-trained through an original task: the Multimodal Inverse Cloze Task. We found that these models leveraged a cross-modal interaction that we had not originally considered, and which may address the heterogeneity of visual representations of named entities. These results were strengthened by a study of the CLIP model, which allows this cross-modal interaction to be modeled directly. These experiments were carried out while staying aware of biases present in the dataset or evaluation metrics, especially of textual biases, which affect any multimodal task
Merckling, Astrid. „Unsupervised pretraining of state representations in a rewardless environment“. Electronic Thesis or Diss., Sorbonne université, 2021. http://www.theses.fr/2021SORUS141.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis seeks to extend the capabilities of state representation learning (SRL) to help scale deep reinforcement learning (DRL) algorithms to continuous control tasks with high-dimensional sensory observations (such as images). SRL allows to improve the performance of DRL by providing it with better inputs than the input embeddings learned from scratch with end-to-end strategies. Specifically, this thesis addresses the problem of performing state estimation in the manner of deep unsupervised pretraining of state representations without reward. These representations must verify certain properties to allow for the correct application of bootstrapping and other decision making mechanisms common to supervised learning, such as being low-dimensional and guaranteeing the local consistency and topology (or connectivity) of the environment, which we will seek to achieve through the models pretrained with the two SRL algorithms proposed in this thesis
Sosner, Philippe. „Effet hypotenseur de nouvelles modalités d’exercice physique chez le patient hypertendu de grade 1 ou 2“. Thesis, Poitiers, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016POIT2260.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleHigh blood pressure is a common disease with many cardiovascular complications. Inactivity is also an important cardiovascular risk factor, and the regular practice of physical activity (PA) decreases very significantly this risk, more than the single improvement of blood pressure (BP). Therefore, PA is recommended for its contribution on the management of hypertension. The “acute” BP fall following a bout of exercise contributes to the “chronic” antihypertensive effect of physical training, by inducing both functional and structural adaptations (BP regulation systems and components of arterial wall, respectively). Face to the many modalities of PA (aerobic, strength, continuous or intermittent mode, outdoor, indoor or in swimming-pool) and to the desires and availabilities of the patient, we aimed to assess, in hypertensive individuals, the effect of new modes (high-intensity intermittent exercise (HIIE), cycling in immersed condition) using preferably ambulatory BP monitoring measures. Thereby, our research identified, through a meta-analysis and 3 clinical studies, the following results:A- regarding PA characteristics : 1- a BP decrease following one bout of HIIE, 2-week HIIE training (thrice a week) and 9-month HIIE training (twice a week) in a combined lifestyle program;2- an additional BP improvement in up-to-the chest immersed condition; 3- an improvement in arterial stiffness (pulse wave velocity, PWV);B- regarding patient’s characteristics: favorable moderators such as a resting BP ≥135/85 mm Hg, or the association of diet intervention. These results should contribute to improve prescription of PA in hypertensive individuals
