Gaillard, Ludovic. „Modélisation rhétorique pour la publication de discours multimédias : applications audiovisuelles“. Compiègne, 2008. http://www.theses.fr/2008COMP1783.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleOur work propose a device for assisting the authoring process of multimedias discourses based on previously annotated audiovisual archives. This approach focus on assistance of the author. The SAPHIR project (Système dAssistance à la Publication Hypermédia guidée par les Intentions Rhétoriques) aims to build an editorial framework allowing an expert of content, but novice in multimedia audiovisual editing tools, easily create document based on audiovisual archive. Our approach use modeling based on rhetoric to examine the differents components from intentions to the final multimedia document. We make difference between the logic intentions and the discursive arrangement of materials. Each dimension of editing task (logic component, discourses arrangement component and layout component) is a step in the publication process. All of these proposals is available in an effective framework. Contribution can be summarized in models and instrumentation based on abstraction of discourses structures called intentions in a way to create audiovisual media document

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe aim of this thesis is to establish a number of concept needed for the analysis of persuasive texts. The issue of persuasion is placed within the theorical and epistemological framework of Interpretative Semantics. Semantics and Rhetoric are closely associated, since we seek to articulate questions of meaning Interpretative Semantics) with those of persuasion (Rhetoric). We consider that it is possible to recast the different aspects of Rhetoric within a semantic conception of textual products. We attempt to integrate the concepts issuing from Rhetoric into Interpretative Semantics, by adapting them to and articulating them with the concepts associated with text semantics. The study deals with advertising and political texts. Through close analysis of these texts, the relevant persuasive strategies and procedures are pinpointed
Poiana, Peter. „Le sens de la lecture pour une approche rhétorique et herméneutique“. Aix-Marseille 1, 1990. http://www.theses.fr/1990AIX10041.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleReading is the process by which the literary work, being essentially of a fictional nature, is assimilated into the reality of the reader's existance. The aim of the study of reading is thus to describe the way in which the "world" of the text reacts with the "world" of the reader. To this effect, two different approaches will be employed. The first consists in the rhetorical analysis of literary language. Its task is to distinguish the narrative stratagies adopted in order to attract, sollicit and otherwise gain the confidence of the reader. Rhetoric refers to the way in which literary language attains, at least from the reader's point of view, the appearance of truth. The second approach, which we will call hermeneutic, concerns the different possibilities of interpretation which arise in respect to the given work. Hermeneutics aims to discover, over and above the question of meaning, the factors which affect the understanding of the work and its incorporation into thepractical sphere of experience. This particular view of reading provides the basis for a methodological approach to literary texts. Works of five different authors (nerval, claude simon, giono, leiris and blanchot) will thus be examined from a rhetorical and hermeneutic viewpoint. Throughout, the problem of reading is posed in terms of time. The temporal dimension of reading determines the projection of aesthetic experience beyond the limits of the text, towards a reality which must be continually reconstructed
Nzamickale, Damien. „L’art oratoire chez les Bapunu du Gabon : pour une rhétorique interactionnelle“. Thesis, Lyon 2, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012LYO20009.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn ritualized encounters of the Bapunu in Gabon, there is no doubt that speech is always a communicative event. This dissertation deals with two types of speech events – traditional weddings and customary trials. In these two different though related events, the author gives evidence of a very specific interactional rhetoric. He shows that punu oratory presents aspects of dialogue and aspects of monologue all at the same time. In fact, each orator comes to take the « speechfloor » in order to answer other orator’s contradictions. But these dual contributions to the interaction are intrinsically tirades where argumentation is displayed, and some rhetoric processes are designed to seek the public’s reaction. On the whole, the demonstration leads us to a comprehensive and insightful approach to Punu oratory
Paris 8, 2011. http://www.theses.fr/2011PA083417.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis study constitutes a prelude to a New Discourse on History and aims at defining the categories of a theory of the forms and genres of historical writing by expanding and examining Roland Barthes’ proposals in his “Discourse of History”. While adopting Barthes’ approach, this study does not leave out the criticism often targeted at semiotics, structuralism and formalism. Though it mainly focuses on the formal properties of the texts written by historians, this morphological and narratological study is nonetheless intent on accounting for the ways these texts refer to the real world, which is one of their chief characteristics. Hence the title of this work whose translation is rather tricky since Barthes’ article “Le discours de l’histoire” can be both understood as “Discourse of History” (which is the official translation in English) and “Discourse on History”. By choosing to add the adjective “new” to Barthes’ title, a choice which constrains us to swap prepositions, our aim is to emphasize the difference between his approach and ours. From narrative poetics to demonstrative and testimonial rhetoric, we examine the three phases of Paul Ricœur’s historiographical operation and set out to demonstrate what link they entertain. But this has to begin with the examination of the representative phase in order to study the way it is articulated to the explanatory/understanding phase and the documentary phase. Thus, we set out to demonstrate how historical writing is able, through the interplay of representation, explanation and documentation, to lead the reader onto a path towards the real world

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis research is focused on the general agreement around m. Blanchot's proposition who says that literature goes to its disappearance. According with r. Barthes, this thesis oppose an historical approche which pretends that it wouldn't be a disappearance of literature, but it would be a connection between the "political signification of literature" and "the usury of the representatif form of narration". This usury is explained on the basis of the pre-eminence of the pictural model -the description gives evidence of this-, over the paradigm of the body - which concerns the enonciation. This pre-eminence of the pictural could be progressive from the first to the second sophistic, and could affirm itself with balzac. Later, in the twentieth century it could disappear. This thesis infers that any question about the situation of literature must take in account the reasons why modernity is fascinated by m. Blanchot's theory. Then, this work reduces the disappearance of literature to the history, using an examination of the rhetoric and poetic treatises

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis study aims to analyse the translation of child rhetoric in Twain's novels Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. The approach is both descriptive and prescriptive. It is based on findings in the fields of translation studies, the history of book publishing, narratology, linguistics as applied to translation, stylistics, as well as over a century of critical discourse on Twain. The approach of the field is systemic, the different versions being analysed in relation to the original but also in relation to one another. Following Berman's precepts, the translators have been taken into account according to their 'position', 'project' and 'horizon'?these notions that encompass the historical, linguistic, literary and cultural elements that influence the translators' way of thinking and translating. A number of paratextual elements are analysed in order to assess the versions according to their readership. This aspect is crucial in the context of novels which have largely been considered as children's literature. The different publishing houses and translators are also defined in terms of political engagement or lack thereof. Child rhetoric is a 'literary sociolect' and one of the many voices which make up these American novels in their original version. It appears that this aspect has been overlooked by critics as well as by French translators. Child rhetoric has been defined as relying on several different types of discourse and a limited number of figures of speech: litotes (or any way of achieving understatement), simile and hyperbole (or any way of achieving overstatement)

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThrough the philosophical debate opposing the unrepresentable to representation in art, this study analyzes contemporary architectural theories' aspiration towards the idea of "self-definition" of the architectural work. The generic term “unrepresentable” (irreprésentable), following Jacques Rancière's definition in Le destin des images, here stands for an event or an idea whose singularity exceeds any representation provided by architectural iconography. We contend that the idea of "self-definition" of architecture is, from a conceptual standpoint, an attempt to represent the unrepresentable. The internal contradiction generated by such a project requires an additional technique transforming this contradiction into a new affirmation of the work's novelty. Such a technique is no recent invention: its historical name is the sublime. We show that in its various forms the concept of the sublime is involved in the architectural discipline's mutations, to the point that the historicity of the sublime can be identified with the historicity of architecture. Not so from the point of view of iconography, the evolution of styles and architectural forms, nor either as a specific way of seeing architecture; but precisely so in terms of a relationship between form and content, between a way of doing and a way of saying, or rather of a certain condition of possibility allowing operations of inclusion and exclusion of heterogeneous theoretical elements within the architectural discourse

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe rhetorical analysis as well as the linguistic pragmatics of the interactive mode of conversation in the six main pieces of Bernard-Marie Koltes show the functionality of the dialogues defined by the playwright as a dynamic argumentation. Far from being ethical argumentations, these dialogues seem to be filled with fallacies and they embody sophistic exchange of appearances and oratory manipulations. The playwright thwarts discursive norms and puts in place peculiar argumentations that provoke linguistical effects and create koltesian’s stylus. Theses argumentations constitute an aesthetical medium of the author’s world and human concept. The fallacies interpretation allows to grasp Koltes’ work as an artistic product revealing his relation to the world and to the theater. The koltesian diction is a rebellious speech denouncing the illusion as well as the artificiality which governs the complicated apparatus of human relationships and the way of understanding the drama work

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe subject of our enquiry will cover the first five volumes of Harry Potter. After a thorough account of the phenomenon (edition, society, culture and criticism), several aspects of the writing will be studied, determining its literary qualities. The first part of our work deals with the close interaction between « Bildungsroman », genealogical characteristics of the plot, « whydunit » properties, stylistic deciphering, puns, and inquisitive reading. The novel of self-development soon turns into enjoyment based on the sheer mystery of words : intertextuality, polysemy, neologisms, amazing semantic power of family names and common nouns, discovery of « Potterspeak ». There is only one step from play reading to dramatic writing. We will thus consider the theatrical impact of J. K. Rowling's work : dialogues are dominating, the author makes use of dialects and accents, and succeeds in giving musical, euphonic expressiveness to the text. Kinetic writing is also overwhelming. People and feelings are literally staged, sometimes in tragic tones, but most often in a comic manner. The latter will precisely be tackled in the conclusive part of our research : language variations, body movements, parody, character depictions, the novel is first and foremost a comedy. It is resonating with laughter, on the verge of « nonsense » and brimming with the unusual

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleWhether it is thanks to novels, children’s picture books or comics, children’s literature readership is oftentimes presented maps that work as much as narrative spatializations as spatialised narrations. The examination of the Jeanne Cappe Collection, which gathers published works from the end of the 1940s to the mid-1970s, and the examination of contemporary productions, attest that maps travel across children’s literature’s history and genres. The synchronic and diachronic perspectives, as well as the literary and iconographic approaches, improved with geography, cartographic and art histories quotation, not only make it possible to create a cartography of the map in children’s literature, but also to try and single out its rhetorical, aesthetic and imaginary purposes. In the end, what does the literary map in children’s literature reveal and, on the contrary, what does children’s literature do to literary maps? The first chapter deals with the map’s educational function, discussing the transmission of geographic knowledge in several genres (school novels, atlas, travel stories, and adventure novels). The cartographic writing of the history is also studied, especially how children’s literature uses the map as a historical narrative device within historical novels, among other genres. The second chapter focuses on the map materiality, so as to highlight its connexion with cartography history and artistic cartography. Studying the map’s physical identity reveals how numerous are the interactions in which bodies and senses – the characters’, thanks to the cartographic experience dramatization – and the readers’, handling, manipulating and checking the map – and text-shaped system) are remarkably stirred. The third chapter analyses the map as translated into images, symbols, words or settings. Observing that the world is shaped into a kind of representation leads to question the very notion of verisimilitude and the use of the cartographic language in literary maps. It shows the way to examine the literary imaginary presence within the cartographic imaginary. The map turned into literature is eventually discussed as an expression of how literature expands onto the map territory.Being cross-disciplinary, the rhetorical, aesthetic and imaginary discussions are to be found in all of three chapters : for it deals with literary maps, the question of language – of languages, since they achieve the convergence of both the cartographic language and the literary language – is at the heart of interactions between discursive objectives, style, materiality and imaginary of the map

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe tools for digital creation, designed as they are to facilitate the publication of online texts or the creation of interactive animations, propose and sometimes impose ways of presenting contents. Are writers aware of the possible influence of these assumptions, patterns of practice and constraints? How much is the act of authoring conditioned by the tool used by the writer? What effect do such tools have on digital creation? In this thesis we will show that software tools are structured as « frameworks » aimed at the writer-designer and based on strategies that we have called « rhetoric for creative authoring ». Just as, in the act of authoring, the writer of a digital text anticipates the practices of the reader, the tool itself proposes a framework which amounts to a number of underlying or implicit givens which anticipate the practices of the author. We therefore need to look into the power relationship thus established and to ask ourselves whether certain elements of the software-tool framework are not strongly influencing the author in order to make him/her adhere to propositions which defend the interests or strategies of the software cultural industry. When starting from prefabricated elements does the creative act not call into question the very status of the author?
Boualit, Farida. „Pour une poétique de la chromatographie : les cinq textes-programmes de Nabiles Farès“. Paris 8, 1993. http://www.theses.fr/1993PA080783.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleColor in literature,i. E. Scripturary color, is not a mere substitue for a figurative representation of the visible. The writing processappropriates the sign "color" in order to reinvent it and return it to theworld it intends to mark. This assumption, as shown by nabile fares' five texts, has oriented research towards poetics of written color, dealing with the maghreb in its purpose and development. In this prospect the syntagmatic and paradigmatic patterns must be taken into consideration, appearing both as complementary and necessary in the elaboration of a text seen as "awhole in action". On the syntagmatic level, we must study mostly punctual operations, connected with rhetorical strucfdtures (metaphore, palimpseste, hypallage, etc. ) and narratological configurations (sequence, proposition, predicat). The narrative power, which becomes perceptible socording to the first pattern, is confermed by thesecond. Indeed, on the syntagmaticlevel sripturary color becomes a vertical story", thanks to its smallest significant unit : the "particule". At least, we can say that, if we separate narrative power from color, studying in the lest run the "principle of harlequin" means that we deal with the modes of narration of scripturary color when the story itself is falling into pieces

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis focuses on the use of presidential signing statements by the Bush 43 Administration. Presidential signing statements are written documents that allow the President to give his opinion of a bill he signed into law and to say that even though he willingly signed the law, he does not necessarily plan on executing all of its provisions as he believes some of them to be potentially unconstitutional. Such a behavior may seem problematic constitutionally speaking as the American Constitution forces the President to « faithfully execute the laws » without affording him the opportunity to pick and choose the provisions he wants to execute.Through a comparison with the signing statements of previous presidents as well as an analysis of both the theoretical and practical capacity of presidential signing statements to allow the President to control the execution of the laws, this thesis will describe signing statements as tools of the rhetorical presidency that allow the executive to assert and defend its constitutional prerogatives in order to strengthen them in the long run, rather than weapons of the administrative presidency with an immediate effect on the execution of the laws

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleAs a leading 20 Century American photojournalism magazine, Life benefits from a prestigious aura turning it into an iconic entity — in press history, scholars usually refer to Life as a paragon of picture magazine when in the meantime Life plays a part in collective history as a Visual record of 20th Century American society -. The first part of this doctoral dissertation dedicated to examining the historiography of Life, explores the emblematic status held by Life, both on the academic field of press history and American studies. As a mainstream culture artifact, and under the impulsion of the counterculture of the 1960s, Life has largely been criticized for being a conservative media. Due to a dissatisfaction with the ideological critique towards Life — which often reduces the study of its editorial content to political issues — the second part of this work focuses on Life's editorial practices, so as to understand how its news content serves the establishment of a Visual culture, rather than offers a sole political statement. These first two parts are preliminary to the main purpose of this doctoral dissertation, which is to identify and analyze the main stakes that are raised when considering Life as a cultural artifact. Thus, the scope of the third part is to investigate Life's use of photography as means to celebrate and evaluate the cultural references the magazine highlights. The corpus of this investigation is a series of case studies, based on a selection of photo-essays published in Life during the early 1950s, when the magazine reached its golden age, so as to revisit this overrated area

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn the VIth century AD, Choricios of Gaza is one of the last representatives of the sophistry and the Greek rhetoric of imperial and late period. Successor of Procope at the head of the school of Rhetoric of Gaza, Choricios is an essential figure in the understanding of the culture of this period. Known especially for his famous descriptions of both churches of Gaza, Saint Serge and Saint Stéphane, for his Apology of the mimes and his funeral oration for Procope, Choricios of Gaza was ignored for a long time by the researchers. This thesis proposes the French translation and the literary comment and the history of the Praise for duke Aratios and governor Stéphanos (op. III F / R) preceded by a rich general introduction. Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis dissertation aims at understanding the links which unite literature and mystic in Léon Bloy's work. From analogical principles bestowed by the scripturary commentary, Bloy has created a poetics of figures which conditions all his work: the writer gives rise to the sensation of mystery and offers to the reader the feeling of the ineffable by predicting the apocalyptic denouement. Bloy is haunted by this prophetic aspect, the deliberate stake in his novelistic work. Thus, Le Désespéré and La Femme Pauvre are unavowed extensions of the biblical story. Bloy resqumes this logic of figures, called figurative logic, provided by the spiritual interpretation to announce the reign hereafter of the Paraclet. He progressively gives up the religion of the Son and his testamentary reign to the advantage of the religion of the Spirit and its eschatologic implications. So, after referring to this figurative logic peculiar to the scripturary exegesis, we have chosen to create the expression "figural logic" to evoke religious speculations within the fictional field. A figural logic which precisely expresses the paradoxical attempt at showing the mystic Truth out of a novelistic discourse. This figural approach of Bloy's novelistic work casts new light on the link between fiction and mystic

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleAelius Aristides' Platonic orations (Or. II-IV) – the In Defense of Oratory (Or. II), the To Capito (Or. IV), and the In Defense of the Four – have mostly been studied synchronically, as if they formed a single work written under the same circumstances. Moreover, the relations between these orations and Middle Platonism have not yet been thoroughly investigated. This thesis aims to better understand the progression of these orations by tying the polemic with the context of Middle Platonism. The two privileged lines of inquiry concern the relationship with the Greek cultural tradition: the first is the attitude advocated and observed towards Plato and the Ancients; the second is composed of the principles governing the exegesis of this philosopher's texts. It is also about better defining the specificity and relevance of the In Defense of the Four, the least studied oration of the corpus. The diachronic approach dictates the structure of the thesis: the orations are studied in their writing order. Regarding the first line of inquiry, that of the attitude towards the Ancients, the type of relationship that is advocated and put into practice remains essentially the same across the three orations: Aristides promotes rivalry and he carries it out quite openly with Plato. However, changes, that can be explained in the light of Middle Platonism, appear with each text. In Defense of Oratory exalts the audacity that is required to contradict an Ancient as opposed to the cowardice of those Platonists who dare not oppose a figure of authority. From the To Capito onwards, the emphasis is on the restraint and respect that should characterize the treatment of the Ancients. From this oration to the last one, In Defense of the Four, the writing increasingly embraces a rhetoric of restraint while increasing the intensity of the reprimands. The In Defense of the Four appears to be the culmination of the Aristidian project because it transforms the relation with tradition in a major and structuring theme, in addition to clarifying the issue raised by this question during the imperial era, namely the survival of Hellenism. The Platonic orations are consistent with regard to the second line of inquiry, the exegesis of Plato's dialogues, because they all point out the insufficiency of the Middle Platonic categories. However, only the In Defense of the Four tackles the Gorgias on the basis of these categories. It is also in this discourse that a constant specular effect between Plato and Aristides appears: the former would corrupt readers with straightforward and unrestrained critiques, whereas the latter tries to do the exact opposite. The specificity of the In Defense of the Four also manifests itself in the increasing importance taken by the theme of the actions aimed at preserving Hellenism. On this point, the political actions and the pedagogy of the Four are represented in such a way as to intersect in their principles the education that Aristides intends to implement through his speech. In both cases, success depends on the ability to adapt to circumstances, a skill which Aristides manifests by modifying his style according to the virtues he exalts. In this way, he himself becomes a model of the virtues he praises and their appropriate application according to the circumstances. The Four protected Greece against the barbarians: Aristides tries to imitate them culturally, at a time when paideia is, in his eyes, threatened by popular philosophers.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe research work presented in this thesis is a part of the general framework of work on digital humanities that seeks, among other things, to contribute to the improvement of human-machine interactions. The objective of the study is twofold. Firstly, it is about studying a corpus of court decisions contained in the database of the International Transport Law Institute (IDIT) in order to determine the linguistic constraints of the judicial kind. Secondly, it is a matter of proposing interpretative paths that can help users to access to the legal information they are looking for. The issue of the interpretation assistance is seen through the study of the modalities and modal scenarios. The bias of this research is to consider multidisciplinarity as a theoretical and methodological asset that contributes to a better understanding of the issue of the interpretation assistance. As a result, several approaches (semantics of modalities, textual semantics, rhetorical argumentation, textometry) are called and articulated to work together towards the objectives set. The analysis of the corpus was conducted at two levels and in two approaches. In the first part, the empirical analysis proposed is quantitative and contrasting. It is conducted at the micro and mesotexual level as it focuses on the study of the lexicon. Based on the TXM tool, this first investigation allowed a comprehensive linguistic characterization of the corpus and an initial overview of its modal profile. It also highlighted modal expressions, concessional constructions, patterns, etc. which focus on key moments in the argumentative process and can therefore be used in the context of the interpretation assistance. In the second part, the empirical study focuses on modal analyses realized on complete texts. It is therefore treated in a qualitative and macrotextual approach. This analysis leads to the formulation of a carefully described scenario model. It can be divided into several levels, depending on how it has been constructed (foreground modalities, background modalities) and whether it characterizes a full text or a specific area of this text. Furthermore, the proposed schematic presentation for the scenarios highlighted the role that each modal zone would play in providing the interpretation assistance

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis falls within the framework of Natural Language Processing. The problems of automatic summarization of Arabic documents which was approached, in this thesis, are based on two points. The first point relates to the criteria used to determine the essential content to extract. The second point focuses on the means to express the essential content extracted in the form of a text targeting the user potential needs. In order to show the feasibility of our approach, we developed the "L.A.E" system, based on a hybrid approach which combines a symbolic analysis with a numerical processing. The evaluation results are encouraging and prove the performance of the proposed hybrid approach. These results showed, initially, the applicability of the approach in the context of mono documents without restriction as for their topics (Education, Sport, Science, Politics, Interaction, etc), their content and their volume. They also showed the importance of the machine learning in the phase of classification and selection of the sentences forming the final extract

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis studies the formation and functioning of gender specific euphemisms and dysphemisms in Ukrainian (i.e. referring to men or women). The study focuses on their use in Ukrainian literary texts written between the nineteenth century and the present day. It has a linguistic dimension: dealing in particular with the lexical meaning, the mechanisms of creation and the stylistic register of euphemisms and dysphemisms. The study also has an ethnolinguistic and gender dimension – it attempts to describe the influence of traditional culture and gender stereotypes on the development, formation and functioning of the analyzed figures of style. The study is completed by a dictionary of Ukrainian gender specific euphemisms and dysphemisms, also available in electronic form. The analysis of the data collected shows a clear prevalence of dysphemisms in the works studied. Moreover, we note that the majority of entries belong to the familiar and vulgar register. Male items are particularly numerous in lexico-semantic groups describing fatuity, faintness, physical defects, inexperience, alcoholism, poverty and non-traditional sexual orientation. On the other hand, there are more female occurrences in the lexical fields of aggression, vulgarity, prostitution, grubbiness and physical unattractiveness. The study of gender specific euphemisms and dysphemisms from the ethno-linguistic angle, reveals the stereotypical depictions of men and women that prevailed at certain times and persist in today's Ukrainian society

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis dissertation deals with the English translations of La Rochefoucauld’s Maxims in order to address the question of the linguistic, pragmatic and stylistic properties of the autonomous sentences referred to as aphorisms. My study carries out a comparison of the literary form of the maxim with other types of aphorisms such as proverbs, adages, sayings and sentences associated with the English tradition of wit. The formal features of maxims are analysed through a twofold approach. First, the translations of La Rochefoucauld’s sentences are studied in contrast: eight different English versions of the book are compared with the French original. The differences between both idioms’ wordings of such particular sentences point to very different conceptions of aphorisms as far as their use and structure are concerned. These conceptions differ in terms of rhetoric but also in terms of reception. Secondly, heed is paid to the very elaboration of the Maxims through a study of the book’s numerous variants that survived in the form of manuscripts and letters. The conclusion that is drawn sheds light on enunciative and grammatical constraints that define how maxims are written, giving the latter discursive autonomy and status of quotation. La Rochefoucauld’s work may thus be considered to be an attempt at reaching the perfection of an aphoristic canon, the proportions and features of which are to be linked to the ancient tradition of brevity in literature. These considerations contribute to explain and justify the very diverse, even sometimes surprising approaches of English translators since versified, dramatised or proverbialised versions are attested
Barrera, Juan David. „La musique pour orgue en France à l'âge classique : une représentation du sacré“. Thesis, Strasbourg, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017STRAC003/document.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis study of French organ music during the “Classical period” focuses on its signifying dimension, and particularly on its representative function in the liturgy. Our interest springs from an observation: the most important works devoted to this repertoire neglect the question, whereas the genesis of this organ school coincides with one of the most remarkable historical moments of Catholic spirituality. From this point of view, and assuming that sacred music can be understood as an aesthetic-theological product shaped according to the symbolic and expressive topics of the liturgy (in the same way as other manifestations of sacred art), our research seeks to demonstrate the way in which the music of French organists can communicate the fundamental notions of Christian doctrine through a set of aesthetic categories and musical topics directed by rhetorical principles. In this way, our work is divided into four parts, successively highlighting the cultural and spiritual contexts of the seventeenth century in France, the elements of the signifying universe of these music, the stylistic organization of the repertoire, and finally, from a hermeneutic point of view, the analysis of three major composers of this musical tradition: Nicolas de Grigny, Jean-Adam Guilain and François Couperin

Thesis, Strasbourg, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015STRAC015.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis dissertation looks at the strategies of religious appropriation and organisation of the fictional territory in Book Six of the Aeneid from a geo-religious perspective. I use the term ‘georeligion’ to refer to an interpretive paradigm that studies the impact of religious elements on the fictional territory of epic (a), on the extratextual context (b) and on the field of poetic competition (c). First, I examine how religious elements inform the Book’s Italic and catabatic landscapes. In this context I conclude that the religious elements serve to contemporize the fictional landscape and, as a consequence, influence the reader/listener’s horizon of expectation. I then attempt to identify the poetic and meta-poetic strategies that underlie such acts of religious ‘re-territorialisation’. In conclusion, I suggest reading certain religious elements from Book Six (the funerary rites, the sacral site of Cumae and the speeches of Anchises and the Sibyl) as nodal points that (a) give structure to the epic territory, (b) influence the perception ofthe reader/listener, and (c) act as a platform for the reworking of the earlier literary tradition

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis work has for objective the construction of an analysis between the Human Sciences inorder to put forward to advance the stakes in the construction of the Cuban ballet in the revolutionary rhetoric. The National Ballet of Cuba (nationalised since 1959), as an institution, stages mechanisms and values for the structure of the power in the Castro regime. In this society, moved by an adaptation of the theories Marxists-Leninists, the distance towards the religion let us envisage that the other faiths, the other practices or the other images participate in the production of a shape of crowned which forges the social link and the identity of the Cuban society. The Cuban ballet can be analysed thus as a privileged witness of these peculiarities, in particular in the perspetives reserve for its feminine icons and for the broadcasting of the ideal of the romantic dancer

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis memoir presents the German policy of former French president François Mitterrand from 1981 to 1991 through his public speech. For this purpose, it shows the former president’s position on the role of Germany in building the European community, in the development of the French defence policy, and on the German reunification. It also locates the German policy of Mitterrand by comparing it to Charles de Gaulle’s, as well as it analyses the value of this public speech as a primary source. The main assumption is that François Mitterrand tries, from 1981 to 1991, to lean on the Federal Republic of Germany to achieve the goals of grandeur and independance wished for France by de Gaulle in the 1960’s. We believe that Mitterrand wishes initially to get closer to the FRG in order, along with Germany, to unify Europe politically, economically and militarily around the Franco-German couple. We also believe that Mitterrand wants to make sure, at the beginning of the 1980’s, that the FRG will stay firmly anchored to the West and will not slide towards neutralism, thus allowing, according to the French president, to increase France’s protection towards USSR and independence towards the United States. Finally, we believe that Mitterrand does not try to prevent the German reunification but that he instead tries to slow down the process in order to realize the European unity within which he wishes to exert an influence on the reunified Germany, and from which he envisages his post-cold war policy. These initiatives must allow France to absorb the by-effects of the German reunification and preserve its national interest. Globally, the German policy of François Mitterrand is in continuity with the German policy developed by general de Gaulle from 1958 to 1964. Both men seek to lean on the FRG to create European unity in order to use it as a springboard for the achievement of France’s goals of grandeur and independance. Finally, we believe that Mitterrand’s public speech can be used as primary source because it contains a significant amount of information. But its use must be done with precaution in order to avoid the usual traps provided by these sources: convincing the public opinion of the good of the advanced policies.
