Annotation:

The sensitivity of mental workload measures is influenced by cultural and individual factors. One individual factor that is hypothesized to influence mental workload is time orientation. The aim of this study is to observe the influence of time orientation on temporal demand and subjective mental workload. One hundred and two participants representing three different time orientations, namely monochronic, neutral, and polychronic orientations, assessed using the Modified Polychronic Attitude Index 3 (MPAI3), voluntarily participated in this study. Participants were instructed to complete a search and count task in four different conditions with varying degrees of difficulty. Mental workload was assessed using subjective (NASA-TLX) and objective (heart rate variability, or HRV) methods and analyzed for each condition. The results show that, with comparable performance and comparable HRV, monochronic participants show higher sensitivity than neutral or polychronic participants in subjective mental workload, particularly the temporal demand dimension. The implications are discussed.

System response delay has been cited as the single most frustrating aspect of using the Internet and the most worrisomeaspect of Web application design. System response time (SRT) research generally concludes that delay should be eliminated where possible to as little as a few seconds, even though delay reduction is costly. Unfortunately, it is not clear if these conclusions are appropriate outside of the developed world where nearly all of the SRT research has taken place. Cultural effects have been, hence, generally missing from SRT research. The one SRT study to date outside of the developed world did report differences using the theoretical construct of cultural chronism, and this finding could limit the generalizability of SRT research findings from developed countries to many economically developing nations. However, limitations and potential confounds in this single study render those findings tentative. The end of Apartheid in South Africa allowed an opportunity to conduct a longitudinal free simulation experiment that overcomes the critical limitations of this previous research. Subjects were members of historically polychronic and monochronic groups who had been segregated by Apartheid and now live in an integrated society with shared infrastructure and computer access. Results find that members of the historically polychronic group are more accepting of longer delays and are more willing to trade longer delays for improved functionality than are their historically monochronic counterparts. Furthermore, tests find that members of the historically monochromic population that came of age in a desegregated, majority-polychronic culture appear to be polychronic themselves and to differ significantly from the older monochronic generation. Results from this study can be applied to design culturally sensitive applications for users in the developing economies of the world.

The present study intended to investigate the effect of polychronicity and time management on work-related quality of life among bank employees. It also attempted to examine the moderating role of time management in predicting work-related quality of life from polychronic tendencies. Gender differences were also investigated along the study variables. Purposive sample consisted of 300 bank employees including men and women with age range of 27 to 52 years (M = 32.5, SD = 4.26) was acquired. Measures of Polychronic Attitude Index (Kaufman, Lane, & Lindquist, 1991), Time Management Behavior Scale (Poposki, Oswald, & Chen, 2008), and Work-related Quality of Life Scale (Zeng et al., 2011) were used to assess study variables. Results showed that polychronicity was negatively associated with time management and work-related quality of life, while time management and work-related quality of life were positively aligned with each other. Findings also revealed that time management buffers the relationship between polychronicity and work-related quality of life and offered a cushioning effect against the repercussions of ploychronicity. Gender differences indicated that men reflected less polychronic tendencies, better time management, and elevated work-related quality of life as compared to their female counterparts. Findings of the present study would bear practical implications for job design and managing various tasks at workplace.

Context. This commentary is based on an innovative approach to the development of predictive analytics. It is centered on the development of predictive models for varying stages of chronic disease through integrating all types of datasets, adds various new features to a theoretically driven data warehousing, creates purpose-specific prediction models, and integrates multi-criteria predictions of chronic disease progression based on a biomedical evolutionary learning platform. After merging across-center databases based on the risk factors identified from modeling the predictors of chronic disease progression, the collaborative investigators could conduct multi-center verification of the predictive model and further develop a clinical decision support system coupled with visualization of a shared decision-making feature for patient care. The Study Problem. The success of health services management research is dependent upon the stability of pattern detection and the usefulness of nosological classification formulated from big-data-to-knowledge research on chronic conditions. However, longitudinal observations with multiple waves of predictors and outcomes are needed to capture the evolution of polychronic conditions. Motivation. The transitional probabilities could be estimated from big-data analysis with further verification. Simulation or predictive models could then generate a useful explanatory pathogenesis of the end-stage-disorder or outcomes. Hence, the clinical decision support system for patient-centered interventions could be systematically designed and executed. Methodology. A customized algorithm for polychronic conditions coupled with constraints-oriented reasoning approaches is suggested. Based on theoretical specifications of causal inquiries, we could mitigate the effects of multiple confounding factors in conducting evaluation research on the determinants of patient care outcomes. This is what we consider as the mechanism for avoiding the black-box expression in the formulation of predictive analytics. The remaining task is to gather new data to verify the practical utility of the proposed and validated predictive equation(s). More specifically, this includes two approaches guiding future research on chronic disease and care management: (1) To develop a biomedical evolutionary learning platform to predict the risk of polychronic conditions at various stages, especially for predicting the micro- and macro-cardiovascular complications experienced by patients with Type 2 diabetes for multidisciplinary care; and (2) to formulate appropriate prescriptive intervention services, such as patient-centered care management interventions for a high-risk group of patients with polychronic conditions. Conclusions. The commentary has identified trends, challenges, and solutions in conducting innovative AI-based healthcare research that can improve understandings of disease-state transitions from diabetes to other chronic polychronic conditions. Hence, better predictive models could be further formulated to expand from inductive (problem solving) to deductive (theory based and hypothesis testing) inquiries in care management research.

The present study examined polychronicity, an individual’s preference on engaging in multiple activities simultaneously as opposed to one at a time. In the restaurant setting, it is critical to understand whether a server prefers to engage in and switch among multiple tasks because it directly impacts the level of job satisfaction and work engagement the server experiences. The purpose of the study was to present a comprehensive view on relationships among time use preference, job satisfaction, work engagement, and turnover intention within a restaurant context. It was hypothesized that polychronicity positively predicted employee job satisfaction and work engagement and negatively predicted employee turnover intention. The sample of 251 respondents were full-time food and beverage servers working at full-service restaurants in the United States. A principle component factor analysis with varimax rotation was conducted to identify the factor structure of polychronicity, job satisfaction, work engagement, and turnover intention. Multiple regression analysis was utilized to empirically test the proposed hypotheses. The result of the analysis supported that polychronicity positively predicted job satisfaction and work engagement. In addition, both job satisfaction and work engagement negatively predicted turnover intention. However, the result did not support the hypothesized negative relationship between polychronicity and turnover intention. The findings of the study will assist restaurant managers in selecting candidates that best fit their organization. It will also assist employees in determining which career path best matches their personality traits. Managerial implications, limitations of this study, and direction for future study were discussed.

In the contemporary workplace individuals differ considerably in the manner they approach their work and achieve outcomes. This thesis examined the construct of polychronicity (preference for undertaking multiple tasks simultaneously) within two intellectually intensive academic work environments. The impacts of imposed polychronicity on performance, job satisfaction, perceived stress and wellbeing were explored. Data was collected from 116 lecturers, teachers, supervisors and managers working in Northern Queensland, Australia. A quantitative approach was taken to data collection. Existing scales were used to measure a range of variables including preferred polychronicity, experienced work unit polychronicity, organisational commitment, job satisfaction, and perceived stress. To provide a qualitative perspective, respondents were asked for comments which were used to add depth and breadth to the study. The findings indicated that preferred polychronicity and experienced work unit polychronicity did not differ over genders or occupations which suggests that polychronicity is likely to be a personal trait. Responses were divided into polychronic, neutral or monochronic preference categories. The findings indicated that when polychronicity was high organisational commitment was high, but when monochronicity was high organisational commitment was lower. Further the findings indicated that when organisational commitment was high, job satisfaction was high and when organisational commitment was low stress was high, although polychrons relationship with stress was lower than that of monochrons. This may suggest that polychrons work better in an imposed polychronic environment than monochrons which supports previous research. The implication for employers is that through understanding the tasking preferences of employees they may be able to tailor strategies to improve and enhance personal wellbeing which in turn may increase job satisfaction, performance, wellbeing and reduce turnover.

L'œuvre de l'architecte Alberto Ponis s'inscrit à un moment charnière (1960 - 1980) durant lequel l'architecture dite vernaculaire devient une source d'inspiration pour de nombreux architectes. Son œuvre est riche d'un ensemble de 300 maisons. Ponis invente ainsi une nouvelle culture architecturale en développant une démarche ethnographique, les données qu'il récolte deviennent la source d'inspiration pour ses projets. Il semble ainsi engager une décélération contraire à la pratique qu'il menait jusque-là en confirmant le constat que la modernité engendre une crise de notre expérience du temps : La temporalité linéaire, vectorielle, homogène et continue se découvre parfois cyclique, répétitive, hétérogène et discontinue.Les projets de Ponis sont constitués d'idées héritées, chacun étant un montage de références. Son modus operandi révèle des influences venant de contextes et époques variés. Les maisons qu'il conçoit sont des agencements de temporalités multiples (temps cosmologique, géologique, biologique, historique, social, vécu, etc…) produisant un tout signifiant. Nous proposons de faire le récit de cet agencement avec quelques maisons que nous interprétons comme diverses figures de temporalités multiples : figure évolutionniste, figure des survivances ou figure géologique. L'objectif de cette thèse est de mieux comprendre et faire le récit de l'agencement des temporalités multiples à l'œuvre dans certaines réalisations de l'architecte Alberto Ponis.Nous retenons pour notre étude quatre maisons que nous avons sélectionnées suivant des critères spécifiques : position charnière dans la chronologie de son œuvre, réception par la critique architecturale, diffusions récentes, disponibilité des matériaux d'étude, etc… Pour opérer ces études, nous employons différents instruments d'analyse critique que nous empruntons à d'autres disciplines telles que l'histoire de l'art ou l'histoire littéraire. Enfin, le travail de terrain fait partie intégrante de notre démarche d'enquête. Plusieurs séjours en Sardaigne à la rencontre d'Alberto Ponis, de ses archives et de ces maisons sont nécessaires.Concevant une architecture toujours plus fusionnelle avec le site, son imaginaire s'inscrit dans le temps long et devient « géologique » (Ponis 2023). Par ce décentrement vers la géologie (Gaillardet 2023), vers cette attention aux choses (Verbeek 2005), il propose une nouvelle manière d'habiter le pays et le temps sarde. Ponis composerait ainsi des « temps-paysages » (Bensaude-Vincent 2021), c'est-à-dire qu'il replongerait les actions humaines dans les cycles multiples qui régissent l'histoire de la Terre. Aussi, cette étude témoigne que la manipulation des temporalités par les architectes passe par une mise en récit du monde dans lequel ils construisent, permettant par la médiation de la temporalité narrative la figuration du développement de l'expérience qui semble disparaitre (Ricoeur 1983 ; Hamel 2006).Cette attention « au paysage construit sans précédent culturel » (Smith 1966) semble être l'une des préoccupations majeures de Ponis depuis les années 1970. Il procède à un examen sensible des précédents géologiques pour concevoir ses projets. La narration qu'il produit avec ses constructions et qu'il dispense depuis dans différents entretiens, répond à la nécessité de la mise en récit de l'activité humaine pour vivre l'expérience du temps.Une analyse critique de la réception récente des travaux de Ponis et de son discours complète notre recherche. L'intérêt pour son œuvre éclaire a fortiori nos préoccupations face aux temps de crises (Serres 2009) et les nouvelles limites de la pratique architecturale
The work of architect Alberto Ponis dates back to a period (1960-1980) when vernacular architecture became a source of inspiration for many architects. His work includes a collection of 300 houses. Ponis pioneered a new architectural culture by developing an ethnographic approach, and the data he collected became the source of inspiration for his projects. In this way, he seems to be undertaking a deceleration that runs counter to his previous practice, confirming the observation that modernity is generating a crisis in our experience of time: the linear, vectorial, homogeneous and continuous temporality is sometimes found to be cyclical, repetitive, heterogeneous and discontinuous.Ponis's projects are made up of inherited ideas, each one a montage of references. His modus operandi reveals influences from a variety of contexts and periods. The houses he designs are arrangements of multiple temporalities (cosmological, geological, biological, historical, social, lived experience, etc.) producing a meaningful whole. We propose to narrate the story of this arrangement with a few houses that we interpret as various figures of multiple temporalities: the evolutionism figure, the survival figure or the geological figure. The aim of this thesis is to gain a better understanding of the multiple temporalities at work in some of the buildings designed by the architect Alberto Ponis.We have selected four houses for study based on to specific criteria: their pivotal position in the chronology of his work, their reception by architectural critics, their recent distribution, the availability of study materials, etc. To carry out these studies, we are employing various instruments of critical analysis borrowed from other disciplines such as art history or literary history. Finally, fieldwork is an integral part of our investigative approach. Several trips to Sardinia to meet Alberto Ponis, to explore his archives and these houses were necessary.By designing an architecture that is increasingly fused with the site, his imagination takes a long-term view and becomes “geological” (Ponis 2023). Through this decentring towards geology (Gaillardet 2023), towards this attention to things (Verbeek 2005), he proposes a new way of inhabiting the country and Sardinian time. Ponis thus composes “landscape-time” (Bensaude-Vincent 2021), in other words, he immerses human actions in the multiple cycles that govern the history of the Earth. This study also shows that the manipulation of temporalities by architects involves putting the world in which they are building into a narrative, making it possible, through the mediation of narrative temporality, to depict the development of experience that seems to be disappearing (Ricoeur 1983; Hamel 2006).This attention to “the built landscape without cultural precedent” (Smith 1966) seems to have been one of Ponis's major preoccupations since the 1970s. He makes a sensitive examination of geological precedents when designing his projects. The narrative that he produces with his constructions, and which he has since shared in various interviews, responds to the need to put human activity into a narrative in order to experience time.A critical analysis of the recent reception of Ponis's work and his discourse concludes our research. Our interest in his work sheds light on our concerns in times of crisis (Serres 2009) and the new limits of architectural practice

Nous avons élaboré des dispositifs EL ayant la structure MISIM (métal-isolant-semiconducteur-isolant-métal). Les différentes couches minces sont déposées sous vide par évaporation au canon à électrons ou par pulvérisation cathodique radiofréquence. Etude systématique des dispositifs ZnS: TbF3, émettant dans le vert. Performances et perspectives des dispositifs ZnS:LnF3, plus particulièrement de ceux dopés avec TmF3, TbF3 et SmF3 qui émettent respectivement dans le bleu, le vert et le rouge (trichromie). Notre conclusion est que seul TbF3 est un centre complexe satisfaisant. Par contre, les performances que l'on peut attendre de SmF3 sont à peine acceptables; quant à l'émission bleue de TmF3, elle est nettement insuffisante. Nous exposons une voie nouvelle permettant d'obtenir l'émission rouge de Eu3+. Une étude de ce centre complexe est présentée ainsi que les performances obtenues.

Les systemes temps reel sont des dispositifs constitues de materiels et de logiciels soumis a des contraintes a la fois fonctionnelles et temporelles pour realiser des traitements, et agir sur leur environnement. Des exemples de domaines o u on rencontre de tels systemes sont les telecommunications, le nucl eaire, l'avionique ou le medical. Ces systemes sont souvent critiques a cause d'enjeux humains et economiques importants. Leur developpement exige donc des methodes tres ables. L'approche synchrone a et e proposee dans le but de repondre a cette attente. Ses fondements mathematiques o rent un cadre formel propice a la description et la validation des systemes temps reel. Parmi les modeles de specification synchrone, le modele multi-horloge ou polychrone se distingue par le fait qu'il permet de decrire des systemes o u chaque composant peut avoir sa propre horloge d'activation. Outre la validation formelle, il favorise des approches orientees composants et le d eveloppement modulaire de systemes a grande echelle. Cette these propose une m ethodologie de conception de syst emes temps reel en utilisant comme formalisme de description le langage synchrone Signal fond e sur le mod ele polychrone. Elle utilise les outils et techniques formels bas es sur ce modele pour verifier des proprietes comportementales portant sur des aspects tant fonctionnels que non fonctionnels. Cette demarche facilite l' evaluation des choix de conception. La methodologie propos ee permet de concevoir des systemes comportant des m ecanismes asynchrones a l'aide de l'approche synchrone. Elle illustre la caracterisation de comportements temps r eel dans le modele polychrone. L'avionique est le domaine d'application privilegie par la these. Cette derniere s'inscrit dans le cadre du projet europ een IST SafeAir (Advanced Design Tools for Aircraft Systems and Airborne Software), regroupant plusieurs industriels. Nous nous sommes particulierement interesses a la conception d'applications suivant le mod ele d'architecture IMA (Integrated Modular Avionics) sur lequel repose la norme avionique ARINC. Cela a conduit a la r ealisation d'une bibliotheque Signal de composants, constituee en majeure partie de services d'un ex ecutif temps reel d e nis par ARINC.

Dans le développement de la société et le perfectionnement de l'art urbain ont été créés les différents principes de l'organisation polychrome des villes. Les progrés scientifiques et techniques ainsi que la necessité de maintenir un environnement harmonieux et esthétique placent les problèmes de l'organistion et de la composition polychrome de l'architecture et de la ville au premier plan. Suite à notre étude, nous pouvons dire que la formation de l'image chromatique d'une ville dépend des spécificités chromatiques régionales, caractère naturel du paysage,des préférences ethniques. Notre analyse historique, esthétique et interculturelle de la polychromie en architecture nous permet de lier le rôle de la couleur à l'organisation structurelle de la ville suivant trois axes : fonctionnelle, tectonique et socio-artistique. Les composants principaux de l'environnement polychrome de la ville intègre la couleur de l'architecture et des structures fonctionnelles de la ville, les composants supplémentaires incluent la polychromie de la nature et du paysage artificiel. La polychromie du mobilier urbain, la couleur des lumières artificielles de la vie nocturne. Ces éléments entrent en interaction pour créer un environnement polychrome qui correspond aussi bien aux spécificités géographiques qu'aux caractéristiques de la planification urbaine, aux racines sociales et culturelles des régions. Pour élaborer le projet le concept du projet d'environnement le système naturel de la couleur-NCS est proposé comme outil de communication permettant le renforcement des méthodes de travail et la corrélation de tous les niveaux de la réalisation du projet

The development of high integrity embedded systems remains an arduous and error-prone task, despite the efforts by researchers in inventing tools and techniques for design automation. Much of the problem arises from the fact that the semantics of the modeling languages for the various tools, are often distinct, and the semantics gaps are often filled manually through the engineer's understanding of one model or an abstraction. This provides an opportunity for bugs to creep in, other than standardizing software engineering errors germane to such complex system engineering. Since embedded systems applications such as avionics, automotive, or industrial automation are safety critical, it is very important to invent tools, and methodologies for safe and reliable system design. Much of the tools, and techniques deal with either the design of embedded platforms (hardware, networking, firmware etc), and software stack separately. The problem of the semantic gap between these two, as well as between models of computation used to capture semantics must be solved in order to design safer embedded systems. In this dissertation we propose a methodology for the end-to-end modeling and analysis of safety-critical embedded systems. Our approach consists of formal platform modeling, and analysis; formal application modeling; and 'correct-by-construction' code synthesis with the aim of bridging semantic gaps between the various abstractions and models required for the end-to-end system design. While the platform modeling language AADL has formal semantics, and analysis tools for real-time, and performance verification, the application behavior modeling in AADL is weak and part of an annex. In our work, we create the APECS (AADL and Polychrony based Embedded Computing Synthesis) methodology to allow an embedded system design specification all the way from platform architecture and platform components, the real-time behavior, non-functional properties, as well as the application software modeling. Our main contribution is to integrate a polychronous application software modeling language, and synthesis algorithms in order for synthesis of the embedded software running on the target platform, with the required constraints being met. We believe that a polychronous approach is particularly well suited for a multiprocessor/multi-controller distributed platform where different components often operate at independent rates and concurrently. Further, the use of a formal polychronous language will allow for formal validation of the software prior to code generation. We present a prototype framework that implements this approach, which we refer to as the AADL and Polychrony based Embedded Computing System (APECS). Our prototype utilizes an extended version of Ocarina to provide code generation for the AADL model. Our polychronous modeling language is MRICDF. Our prototype extends Ocarina to support software specification in MRICDF and generate multi-threaded software. Additionally, we implement an automated translation from Simulink to MRICDF, allowing designers to benefit from its formal semantics and exploit engineers' familiarity with Simulink tools, and legacy models. We present case studies utilizing APECS to implement safety critical systems both natively in MRICDF and in Simulink through automated translation.

Cette étude porte sur une série de sculptures retrouvées sur le territoire impérial romain, débutant avec le règne d'Auguste et se terminant au Veme siècle. Nous nous bornerons pour cette recherche, aux sculptures polychromes (ronde-bosse et bas-relief), n'appartenant pas au domaine architectural, et ayant un sujet figuré (humains et animaux). Loin d'être un type rare, la sculpture colorée (et/ou dorée) en pierre pose de nombreuses questions. Ainsi, outre les recherches classiques s'intéressant aux répartitions géographiques et chronologiques, ce sujet nous mène vers les questions techniques de la peinture et dorure : pigments, préparation des supports, mais aussi la pose. Une distinction d'ateliers via l'usage de la couleur a aussi été tentée. Plusieurs hypothèses quant au pourquoi de cette coloration, sont possibles. Elles seront détaillées ici. A ces recherches s'ajoute celle concernant une possible signification des ces couleurs ; conception liée directement avec la pensée des Anciens, dans la littérature antique, mais aussi, dans un autre domaine, celui entre autre de la mode vestimentaire. A cela vient s'ajouter un appendice important. Celui-ci comporte divers tableaux et graphiques (chronologiques, géographiques,. . . ) permettant des comparaisons utiles. This study is about a category of roman sculptures found in the imperial world, from August reign to the 5th century. It is limited to coloured sculptures (statues and relieves) ; out of the architectural ones, and all in rapport with humans or animals illustrations. Not rare, this kind of painted or gilded sculpture, in stone, is a source of questions. So besides the classical searches concerning for example geography or chronology, this search gives some technical answer for painting and gilding : pigments, supports and its preparation,. . . A distinction between craft shops, through the use of colours has been tried too. Some hypotheses about why have coloured those pieces are possible too. They will be described here. For this, a examination about a possible meaning has been done ; idea directly in rapport with the ancient way of thinking, in literature but in other way, to daily fashion too. To finish an appendix completes this study. It contains some histograms and tables, to help the reader for a better comprehension

Annotation:

In this paper, several intrusions intruding the Reftinskiy massif are reviewed. All these bodies have the same geological position and form a chain along the western boundary of the Reftinsky massif. The massif itself has a complex polychronic, polyformational structure; the studied bodies in its composition are the youngest igneous rocks. The author obtained reliable data on the age of one of these bodies (Peshcherninsky stock) 396 ± 3 Ma. According to petro- and geochemical studies, Devonian gabbro- granitoid intrusions have common features of the material composition and form a single trend in the evolution of the rock complex in the Eastern zone of the Middle Urals. The data obtained allow us to assert that a number of plutons breaking through the Reftinsky massif were formed during the same episode of magmatism, and in a certain, island-arc geodynamic setting.

The present paper aims to describe the importance of time notion in today’s globalized world. Understanding over the time orientation and also time perception within of a specific culture is critical to the successful handling of social, diplomatic and business situations. Misunderstandings of chronemics (science about the time, its perception and attitude) can lead to a failure to understand intentions, especially in social business communication. Knowing the temporal profile of the representative of a specific culture will help to solve time-related issues and avoid problems. Time orientation: past, present and future and time perception: sequential/monochronic versus synchronic polychronic are dimensions that influence the specific behavior describing the cultural temporal profile that can predict the inclination of a specific society that focuses on how people structure time, ranging from single task to multitask approach. In order to describe the elements of the temporal profile we used different cultural models: Hofstede, Trompenaars, Hall, Zimbardo.

"Entrepreneurs, as the most active social group sensitive to public mood, perhaps feel the changes in the time of life in a digital society (time pressure illusion) most of all. On the other hand, the very internal temporal organization of a person involved in entrepreneurial activity can determine the characteristics of his or her mind and behavior in the economic sphere. The aim of the study is to reveal the impact of the psychological time of the representatives of small businesses on their economic minds. The study involves 109 representatives of small businesses in various fields (wholesale and retail trade, education, tourism, consulting, production, etc.), registered in the Chelyabinsk region and operating in the Russian Federation (mean age 34.9, 42% male). The respondents completed electronic forms of Inventory of Time Value as an Economic Resource (Usunier), Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory, Attitudes towards Time (Nuttin), and Inventory of Polychronic Values (Bluedorn). To diagnose the features of the economic mind of entrepreneurs, the Economic Attitudes Questionnaire (Deyneka & Zabelina, 2018) was used. Regression analysis showed that certain components of psychological time (positive attitude to the past, present and future, the value of time as an economic resource) determine the formation of constructive economic attitudes of small business owners, namely the value of independent economic achievements, willingness to invest, unwillingness to sacrifice vocation and health for money, financial optimism. Thus, the lack of fixation on past failures, a positive attitude towards the present and the future, the ability to transfer time into money create a psychological foundation for the formation of entrepreneurs' attitudes in economic life. The results can be used in the consulting of the future entrepreneurs."

Je suis autodidacte même dans le sport. ». La formidable puissance didactique de Le Corbusier réside en cinq points : sa formation, son positionnement théorique, son invention de typologies, sa diffusion de l’architecture, sa production prolifique. Ainsi, bien au-delà de l’Œuvre Complète Le Corbusier offre à qui veut s’en servir un champ pédagogique particulièrement riche à découvrir et à partager. Aucun programme ne lui a échappé que ce soit les villas ou maisons, le logement collectif, les bureaux, les équipements (publics ou privés), les bâtiments institutionnels, les musées, les usines : tout est matière à invention. Cette invention s’accompagne de sa diffusion de l’architecture, de ses idées, à travers publications et conférences à travers le monde. Mais cela n’est rien comparé à sa production aux échelles variées de l’habitat minimum jusqu’à l’édifice monumental. C’est pourquoi avec le regard porté sur le projet des Quartiers Modernes Frugès construits à Pessac en 1926 nous examinerons comment ce « laboratoire » constitue une expérience pédagogique qui a valeur d’exemplarité et toujours d’actualité. The amazing power of Le Corbusier’s didactic resides in five points: his training, his theoretical positioning, his invention of typologies, his diffusion of architecture, his prolific production. Thus, beyond his “Oeuvres Complètes” Le Corbusier offers to whom wants to use it, a rich educational field to discover and share. No program has eluded him whether it is villas or houses, collective housing, offices, facilities (public or private), institutional buildings, museums, factories : everything is material for invention. This invention is accompanied with his diffusion of architecture, of his ideas in books or lectures all over the world. The energy-related holographic applications such as spectrum-splitting holoconcentrators,1 solar-control Lippmann holowindows,2 heliostat dichroic/polychroic non-Snellian mirrors,3 etc. have unique potential of realizing wavelength/angular selective spatial processing operations. Therefore, the systems with properties such as spectrum-selective Snellian/non-Snellian reflection, deflection concentration, and collimation can be produced by using large-size (1-m2 area), flat or curved thin holographic coatings. In this paper it was shown that only superhigh-efficiency (SHE) holographic technology, based on Bragg reflection Lippmann holograms,3 can satisfy all necessary conditions to be competitive with conventional techniques. These conditions are high diffraction efficiency values close to the theoretical limit, rectangular shape of diffraction efficiency spectral characteristics, low absorption/scattering losses (below1%), low coupling losses (below 5%), and optical efficiency of the compound holographic system close to its average diffraction efficiency within all spectra of interest. In the case of solar applications (inc1uding PV and TPV holoconcentrator systems), the last condition is especially difficult to satisfy because of the relatively wide range of the solar spectrum. To prove the advantages of reflection holograms (compared with transmission holograms) in broadband energy-related applications (solar, chemical, etc.), the wave-tracing kinematic model was applied to 1-D-limited 3-D holographic Bragg structures with a well-defined grating vector. The model was based on the generalized solid-state physics Wulf-Bragg formalism.4
