Dans notre article, nous nous proposons d’analyser le rôle de l’espace dans la pièce Hôtel des Deux Mondes (1999) d’Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt en la comparant avec la pièce Huis clos (1944) de Jean-Paul Sartre. La pièce sartrienne nous servira de repère et de point de départ à l’analyse de l’espace chez Schmitt vu les nombreuses relations intertextuelles qui les relient. Cette intertextualité est visible sur le plan du contenu ainsi que sur le plan des idées exposées : l’existence humaine et la mort, la condition humaine, Dieu, le mysticisme. L’espace y joue un rôle essentiel. Il s’agit d’un espace fermé, clos, mais actif : dans Huis clos c’est un salon style Second Empire qui représente l’enfer, dans Hôtel des Deux Mondes une clinique qui se trouve entre la vie et la mort. À partir de différentes classifications de l’espace théâtral d’Hélène Laliberté, nous chercherons à déterminer la fonction mimétique de l’espace, c’est-à-dire le rôle de l’espace figuratif dans le déroulement de l’action. Pour mieux comprendre le rôle que joue l’espace fermé dans les deux pièces, nous utiliserons dans notre analyse les recherches de l’espace théâtral d’Anne Ubersfeld, surtout les deux types d’espace : le lieu scénique, ce même espace scénique « en tant qu’il est matériellement défini » (Ubersfeld, 1996a : 37), et l’espace dramatique, une abstraction qui « comprend non seulement les signes de la représentation, mais toute la spatialité virtuelle du texte, y compris ce qui est prévu comme hors scène » (Ubersfeld, 1996a : 37). Le but de notre article sera d’analyser ces deux types d’espace dans la pièce de Schmitt, leurs points communs et différences avec ceux de la pièce sartrienne.

Dans cet essai, nous étudions le développement de cinq passages méthodologiques importants dans les Queries de l’Opticks d’Isaac Newton (1642-1727) et nous explorons plusieurs raisons pour lesquelles il les a continuellement révisés et reformulés. Les Queries, publiés à la fois en anglais et en latin, ont une histoire éditoriale complexe et fascinante. Ici, nous analysons les manuscrits survivants en relation avec les versions publiées de l’Opticks (1704, 1717, 1721 et 1730) et de l’Optice (1706 et 1719) et, en outre, avec d’autres sources pertinentes telles que ‘ An Account of the Book Called Commercium epistolicum’ de Newton et Cambridge University Library, Add. Ms. 3970, f. 479r-v et f. 480v dans lequel il a abordé un certain nombre de principes philosophiques. Plus précisément, nous analysons cinq passages dans lesquels Newton a clarifié ses points de vue méthodologiques pour ses lecteurs : dans le premier passage, il définissait «the main Business of natural Philosophy » comme argumenter à partir de phénomènes sans feindre d’hypothèses ; dans le deuxième passage, il justifiait son utilisation fréquente du mot «attraction » ; dans le troisième passage, il discutait brièvement des conditions dans lesquelles une propriété, notamment la dureté, peut être considérée comme universelle ; dans le quatrième passage, il défendait sa propre méthode en refusant l’idée que la gravité et les autres principes actifs sont des «occult Qualities » ; et, enfin, dans le cinquième passage, il décrivait sa propre méthode en termes d’analyse et de composition (ou de synthèse). Sur la base de nos analyses de ces passages, nous sommes en mesure de retracer l’évolution des idées méthodologiques de Newton du début des années 1700 à 1717. En outre, nous découvrons comment les débats de l’époque sur la philosophie naturelle ont influencé la rédaction des Queries et quels passages ont servi de précurseurs à ses célèbres regulae philosophandi.

Introduction LLes ambulanciers paramédicaux, les pompiers, les policiers et autres membres du personnel de la sécurité publique (PSP) ainsi que les membres des Forces armées canadiennes (FAC) sont fréquemment exposés à des facteurs de stress et à des environnements de travail exigeants. Même si leurs tâches professionnelles varient, il existe un point commun entre ces métiers : la forte probabilité d’une exposition répétée à des événements potentiellement traumatisants sur le plan psychologique en cours de carrière. En partie à cause de ces expositions répétées, les membres des FAC et du PSP courent un risque accru de problèmes de santé mentale, notamment de trouble de stress post-traumatique. Cette étude visait à obtenir une meilleure compréhension des expériences, qu’elles soient liées à des traumatismes ou non, qui sont susceptibles d’avoir une incidence sur les problèmes de santé mentale ainsi que sur le traitement et le rétablissementn subséquents de membres actifs ou retraités des FAC et des services de sécurité publique. Méthodologie Le recrutement des participants s’est fait parmi les patients séjournant dans un hôpital privé offrant des services sur place de traitement en santé mentale et dépendances. Nous avons mené des séances de discussion semi-dirigées en groupe, qui ont été enregistrées sur bande sonore puis transcrites. Une analyse phénoménologique interprétative et une analyse thématique ont permis d’établir un schéma de codage à partir duquel nous avons identifié les concepts et les associations qui ressortaient des données. Résultats L’analyse a mis en évidence quatre grands thèmes : relations interpersonnelles, identité personnelle, répercussions sur la santé mentale et blessure morale potentielle. Plusieurs sous-thèmes se sont dégagés, en particulier les dynamiques familiales, l’incapacité à faire confiance, des sentiments de trahison professionnelle ou personnelle, la stigmatisation dans la culture des FAC/du PSP, le renforcement des émotions négatives envers soi ou les autres et l’importance accordée à la camaraderie entre collègues. Conclusion L’information recueillie est essentielle pour comprendre les points de vue du PSP et des militaires, car leurs métiers comportent des facteurs de stress spécifiques qui entraînent l’exposition à des événements potentiellement traumatisants sur le plan psychologique.

RésuméAprès avoir exposé le modèle théorique de choix de portefeuille en avenir incertain, nous essayons de comprendre les choix de portefeuille des ménages en France de 1970 à 1986, en explicitant les divergences par rapport au modèle théorique. Nous retenons une agrégation en trois actifs: liquidités, obligations et actions, en supposant donnée l’épargne financière des ménages. Les principales questions auxquelles l’étude apporte des éléments de réponse sont: (i) Quelle perception ont les ménages de rendements des actions, en particulier des plus-ou moins-values potentielles? (ii) Quelles sont les motivations des ménages dans leur détention de parts OPCVM (organismes de placement collectif en valeurs mobilières: fonds communs de placement)? Ces parts d’OPCVM sont-elles un actif bien distinct des autres en terme de rendement et de risque? (iii) Quels sont les coûts d’ajustement perçus par les ménages? Cette thèse analyse l'impact de la communité des actifs bancaires sur le risque systémique. Cette étude examine l'impact du chevauchement des portefeuilles d'actifs sur le risque systémique dans les grandes banques centrales américaines. Les résultats révèlent une relation en forme de U entre la communalité des actifs, la probabilité individuelle de défaut et le risque systémique parmi les banques. Une plus faible communauté d'actifs est liée à une réduction du risque, tandis qu'une plus grande communauté est préjudiciable à la stabilité financière. L'étude des actifs liquides et illiquides confirme la relation en U. Nos résultats soulignent en outre l'importance du maintien d'une faible communalité des actifs pour la stabilité financière en période normale et en période de crise, ainsi que pour les banques dont les échéances de financement sont plus courtes. Le deuxième chapitre étudie l'impact de la communalité des actifs sur le risque systémique à différents degrés de mise en œuvre des politiques macroprudentielles sur la base d'un échantillon transnational. L'objectif premier de la politique macroprudentielle est de réduire l'exposition des banques au risque systémique découlant d'une croissance excessive du crédit, de défaillances corrélées et d'autres expositions communes. Toutefois, la mise en œuvre de ces politiques peut contribuer involontairement à une augmentation des avoirs communs des banques qui tentent de mettre en œuvre des stratégies de transfert des risques. Les résultats indiquent que les actifs communs augmentent l'exposition au risque systémique lorsque les politiques macroprudentielles ciblées sur les quantités et les institutions financières sont mises en œuvre à un niveau plus élevé. Cela se produit lorsque les banques déplacent leurs risques vers différentes catégories d'actifs ou de portefeuilles, ce qui accroît leur vulnérabilité au risque systémique. Le troisième chapitre examine l'impact de la similitude du comportement environnemental des banques sur le risque systémique à partir d'un échantillon transnational. Nos résultats révèlent que la similitude du comportement environnemental des banques est positivement associée au risque systémique lorsque l'indice de politique environnementale est faible. This study examines the impact of asset portfolio overlap on systemic risk in large U.S. BHCs. Results reveal a U-shaped relationship between asset commonality, individual probability of default, and systemic risk among banks. Lower asset commonality is linked to reduced risk, while higher commonality is detrimental to financial stability. Investigating liquid and illiquid assets confirms the U-shaped relationship. Our results further emphasize the importance of maintaining low asset commonality for financial stability during normal and crisis periods, as well as for banks with shorter funding maturities. The second chapter studies the impact of asset commonality on systemic risk under varying degrees of implementation of macroprudential policies using a cross-country sample. The primary objective of macroprudential policy is to reduce bank’s exposure to systemic risk arising from excessive credit growth, correlated failures, and other common exposures. However, the implementation of such policies may inadvertently contribute to an increase in bank common holdings as they attempt to engage in risk-shifting strategies. The findings indicate that asset commonality increases exposure to systemic risk under higher implementation of quantity and financial institution-targeted macroprudential policies. This occurs as banks shift their risks to different asset classes or portfolios, consequently elevating their vulnerability to systemic risk. The third chapter examines the impact of the similarity of banks environmental behavior on systemic risk using a cross-country sample.The findings indicate a U-shaped relationship between the similarity of bank environmental behavior and systemic risk among banks. Our result reveals that the similarity of banks environmental behavior is positively associated with systemic risk under a low environmental policy index. Also, under a low green macroprudential policy, the commonality of banks environmental behavior is associated with higher systemic risk

Le sujet de ce travail est l’étude de différentes conditions de compatibilités entre fonctions et multifonctions, et leur intérêt dans la recherche de points fixes communs à ces applications. Ces conditions dont l’étude apparaît essentiellement à partir des années 90 et se développe encore actuellement, s’étendent de la notion simple de commutativité de deux applications jusqu’à celles de compatibilité super-faible, de sous- compatibilité pour les couples hybrides et du concept d’applications faiblement biaisées, en passant par les notions de commutativité faible, de compatibilité, de compatibilité de divers types: type A, type B, type C, type P, de compatibilité, de compatibilité faible et de compatibilité occasionnellement faible. Dans le chapitre 1, après un bref historique des premières notions de compatibilités, un résultat d’existence de points fixes communs associant à la compatibilité faible, une condition de type Meir-Keeler est présenté. Ce résultat améliore le travail de Jha K, Pant R. P. Un théorème est aussi établi dans le même cadre, montrant l’existence d’un point fixe commun pour une infinité d’applications. Le deuxième chapitre traite de la compatibilité occasionnellement faible. Cette notion introduite par Al-Thagafi et Shahzad en 2006, utilisée dans le cadre univoque par Jungk et Rhoades (2006) est étendue au cadre multivoque par Abbas et Rhoades (2007). Nos résultats de cette partie améliorent, entre autres, ceux d’Aliouche (2007), de Mbarki (2003) et de Pathak H. , Cho Y. , Kang S. Et Madharia B. (1998) en y supprimant ou en affaiblissant des hypothèses sur la fonction implicite considérée, des hypothèses de compacité ou de continuité des applications concernées. Dans le troisième chapitre, la définition de la sous-compatibilité pour des couples hybrides nous permet de prouver des théorèmes d’existence et d’unicité de point fixe avec des conditions de type intégrai dans des espaces métriques complets et aussi dans des espaces symétriques. Les résultats obtenus dans cette partie généralisent ceux de Djoudi A. Et Aliouche A. (2007), de Pathak, Tiwari R. Et Khan M. S. (2007) ainsi que ceux de Aage C. T. Et Salunke J. N. (2009). Dans le chapitre 4, les notions de compatibilité super-faible et de continuité sous-séquentielle sont définies et utilisées pour établir des résultats de points de coïncidence et de points fixes communs dans des espaces métriques quelconques. Des résultats de Mbarki sont ainsi généralisés. Le dernier chapitre traite des applications occasionnellement faiblement biaisées. Cette notion généralise celle d’applications biaisées introduite par Jungck et Pathak (1995) et nous permet de donner des résultats dans les espaces normés, dans les espaces métriques et les espaces symétriques, - améliorant ainsi certains résultats de Ciric L. B. Et Ume J. S. (2003) et de Shahzad N. Et Sahar S. (2000)This work consists of five parts and is focused on studying the existence and uniqueness of common fixed point for mappings which have low properties. In the first part of this work, we improve a common fixed point theorem for four compatible mappings of Jha K. , Pant H. P. And Singh, by giving a theorem with weaker conditions. Also, we give a second theorem which is an extension of the first theorem using an infinite number of mappings of Meir-Keeler type. In the second part, we extend some common fixed point theorems for single-valued mappings given by some authors as Mbarki, Aliouche and Popa, Pathak H. , Cho Y. , Kang S. And Madharia B, to single and multi-valued mappings of general type, type of Gregus and near-contractive type mappings using few conditions such as we removed the compactness required on the space in the papers of Aliouche and Popa, go we did not require continuity on any of these four mappings by using the conditions strictly contractive (2. 2) and (2. 3) which are considered more general than the inequalities cited in the earlier papers, we also weakened the definitions relating to the compatibility, compatibility of type (A), of type (C), of type (P) and weak compatibility by the occasional weak compatibility. In the third part, first, we extend several theorems given in Djoudi and Khems, Elamrani and Mehdaoui, Pathak, Tiwari and Khan to multivalued mappings by using the integral type. Then, we give two theorems for single-valued mappings which improve results of Aage and Salunke since we removed the assumptions of inclusion and continuity requirements on mappings by using occasional weak compatibility and obtain results in a set endowed with a symmetric instead of a complete metric space. In the penultimate section, we establish two new concepts: the super-weakly compatibility and the sub-sequential continuity. These definitions are weaker than occasional weak compatibility and reciprocal continuity, respectively. By using these new concepts, we can give different theorems of single-valued mappings in metric spaces. In the fifth and last part, we also introduce a new concept of the occasionally biaised compatibility. This definition is very general and the lowest at this time with regard to different types of compatibility given before counting the compatibility weakly biased and that occasional weak. We also have given some theorems winch extend in particular the results given by Ciric and Ume and also Shahzad and Sahar

L'objectif premier de cette thèse est de proposer un protocole de tolérance aux pannes par recouvrement arrière pour le modèle à objets actifs asynchrones communicants ASP (Asynchronous Sequential Processes) et son implémentation en Java ProActive. Cette thèse généralise la problématique soulevée par le développement de ce protocole : nous étudions le recouvrement d'une application répartie depuis un état global non cohérent. Nous proposons donc dans un premier temps un protocole par points de reprise et son implémentation ne supposant pas que les états globaux soient cohérents. Nous montrons à travers des expérimentations réalistes utilisant des applications réparties communicantes que notre solution et son implémentation présentent de bonnes performances. Nous contribuons aussi de manière plus générale à l'étude du recouvrement depuis un état global non cohérent en définissant formellement une nouvelle condition de recouvrabilité, la P-cohérence, basée sur la notion de promesse d'évènement. Cette définition s'intègre dans un formalisme événementiel capable de prendre en compte la sémantique de n'importe quel système ; elle est donc applicable dans un cadre général. En particulier, en appliquant ce formalisme au modèle ASP, nous prouvons la correction de notre protocole en montrant que les états globaux formés durant l'exécution sont toujours recouvrables. Enfin, nous contribuons plus spécifiquement au domaine des grilles de calcul en proposant une extension de notre protocole et son implémentation adaptée à ce contexte. Cette extension se base sur la constitution automatique de groupes de recouvrement au déploiement de l'application. Elle permet une répartition indépendante des mémoires stables et un confinement des effets d'une panne au seul groupe concerné.

Partant de l'idée que l'institution est un acteur majeur de l'insertion professionnelle des handicapés, nous tentons de cerner, dans la présente thèse, les effets que génèrent les politiques sociales sur la perception des usagers handicapés vis-à-vis de l'accès à l'emploi. Il est important d'analyser comment l'administration japonaise justifie sa place dans le rapport de force lié à cette question sociétale et de comparer sa vision à celle de son équivalente française, archétype de l'acteur incontournable. En prenant pour principale base théorique la sociologie de l'action de M. Crozier, nous cernons la place institutionnelle occupée dans le "système d'action concret" et l'éventail de choix que les dispositifs publics offrent à l'acteur stratégique comme usage de sa liberté. Au regard de la définition du handicap, nous axons notre approche sur le cadre sociétal des politiques sociales et sur l'identité au travail. La question identitaire nécessite une réflexion sur la démarche institutionnelle, qui, pour valider chaque projet d'insertion, intègre la personnalité et évalue le bilan de compétences. A notre avis, l'autonomie s'acquiert mieux sans l'intervention publique et que, contre toute attente, les politiques d'activation des usagers handicapés engendrent potentiellement moinsde dynamisme. Ce dynamisme serait amélioré par la mise en contact intermédiée avec le recruteur, sans plus s'attacher à encourager ou évaluer des démarches isolées. Nous confrontons donc le modèle japonais d'accès à l'emploi, qui exploite différents moyens, au modèle français, qui utilise un processus en phases rigoureuses. Notre investigation est menée principalement sur le terrain japonaisAsserting that the institution is a major protagonist of workplace integration training schemes for disabled persons, we attempt to define, in this thesis, the impacts of social policies on the feelings towards access to employment for the concerned disabled individuals. We do believe it is essential to analyze how the Japanese institutional protagonist justifies its part within the power struggle inherent to this societal issue and to emphasize it in relation to its French counterpart, epitome of the key protagonist. The sociology of Mr Crozier’s action is our main theoretical foundation to deal with the occupation of the ‘concrete action plan’ and with the fluctuations in possible alternatives brought forward by the public system as a source of freedom for the strategic protagonist. From the definition of disability, we will focus on the societal frame of social policies and the identity on the workplace. The identity question is brought about by our reflection on the institutional action that incorporates both personality and assessment of overall skills into an acceptable integration plan. From our standpoint, achieving autonomy in the workplace is made easier in the absence of public involvement and activation policies for disabled individuals bring about, against all odds, a potential drop in dynamism, a dynamism that would be further improved by a monitored exposure to the recruiting agent without any more time spent on pushing forward or assessing isolated approaches. We thus confront a Japanese model of complete access to the work post with the well-defined stages of the French process, the investigation being conducted mainly on Japanese ground

In order to take advantage of this experience, capitalization of knowledge has become an essential activity for companies. Our research work aims to model and implement such a system that extracts and formalizes knowledge from defects that occur in the context of industrial production, and to integrate it into a framework in order to facilitate corrective and preventive maintenance. This framework organizes the knowledge in the form of defects' groups. These groups can be compared to patterns: they represent a problem to which one or more solutions are related. They are not defined a priori; the analysis of past defects generates relevant groups, which may change with the addition of new defects. To identify these patterns, a complete process of knowledge extraction and formalization is adopted, Knowledge Discovery in Databases, well known in the domain of knowledge management. This process has been applied in very diversified fields. In this work, we give a new dimension to this process, the processing of defects, especially those that occur during industrial production processes. The generic steps that compose it, from the simple data selection to the interpretation of patterns that support knowledge, are considered. A specific processing, relevant to our applicative context, is assigned to each of these steps

La recherche entreprise tente de caractériser les processus qui unissent les réponses de conducteurs d'automobiles auteurs d'infractions constatées au code de la route, aux visées pédagogiques dont ils sont l'objet de la part du système institué d'éducation à la sécurité routière. Cette recherche s'appuie sur une enquête de terrain auprès de formateurs et de stagiaires, lors de stages de récupération de points, dans le cadre du permis à points, en vigueur en France depuis 1992. Une première partie est consacrée à la construction des outils méthodologiques adaptés à l'objet de recherche : ethnométhodologie et observation participante. La deuxième partie est constituée par l'identification des procédés pédagogiques déployés par la pédagogie instituée d'éducation à la sécurité routière : variabilité dans la définition de l'accident, diversité et unité dans la pédagogie de sa prévention. La troisième, et dernière partie, étudie les procédures adoptées par les conducteurs auteurs d'infractions, pour s'approprier et réorganiser l'éducation reçue, dans un univers spatio-temporel commun dans lequel conducteurs et formateurs se reconnaissent mutuellement. Deux catégories de procédés sont identifiés : le paritarisme par substitution, et le paritarisme par participation. The first part is devoted to the setting up of methodological tools appropriate to the research : ethno methodology and active observation. The second part consists in identifying the educational means resorted to by the institutional safety teaching program : flexibility in the definition of an accident, diversity and unity in road safety teaching. The third and last part deals with the procedure adopted by offenders to integrate and assimilate the teaching, in the same time and place environment where both trainers and drivers acknowledge each other. Two different sets of procedure are indentified : paritarism by substitution and paritarism by involvement. Ce travail de thèse concerne le développement d'un dispositif émetteur de lumière, basé sur des nanoparticules de sulfure de zinc dopées au manganèse,fonctionnant sous l'application d'une tension alternative. Notre dispositif est basé sur une configuration simple impliquant une seule couche de nanoparticules luminescentes, déposée par spin coating, placée entre deux films isolants. D’abord,nous avons étudié le système de nanoparticules d'un point de vue fondamental.Ces nanoparticules, synthétisées sans aucun tensioactif par une synthèse assistée par micro-ondes, sont caractérisées par une phosphorescence dans la région orange du spectre visible provenant du dopage au manganèse. Nous avons observé et étudié une augmentation de cette activité optique sous une exposition prolongée à la lumière UV. Notre analyse nous a permis d'attribuer ce phénomène à un effet de contrainte du réseau crystallin local autour des chromophores de manganèse dû à un processus d'oxydation de surface induit par la lumière UV.Dans une deuxième partie de notre travail, nous avons étudié les propriétés diélectriques des couches isolantes, constituées d'un film de oxyde d'hafnium déposé par Atomic Layer Deposition. En explorant plusieurs épaisseurs de couches et deux températures de dépôt, nous avons montré que la température plus basse fournit des résultats significativement plus fiables et robustes. De plus, nous avons également abordé la possibilité de déposer une couche d'alumine par une approche sol-gel en solution, mettant en évidence les principales limites de cette technique.Dans la troisième partie du manuscrit, nous décrivons les principales caractéristiques du dispositif complet. Nous avons observé la bande d'émission orange due au dopage au manganèse, ainsi que le comportement seuil typique de l'intensité de la lumière émise en fonction de la tension appliquée. En exploitant la caractérisation structurelle, les mesures de spectroscopie d'impédance et une comparaison avec des travaux théoriques sur des dispositifs similaires, nous avons pu affirmer que le mécanisme derrière l'émission de lumière observée est un processus de création de charge induite par le champ électrique dans la couche active, suivi par leur transport à travers la couche et d'un processus de recombinaison radiative à l'échelle de la nanoparticule individuelle. Par rapport aux travaux antérieurs basés sur le même type de nanoparticules, notre point clé a été l'utilisation de nanoparticules non enrobées qui ont permis d'obtenir un arrangement de nanoparticules très compact, favorisant le mécanisme physique mentionné ci-dessus. Notre travail constitue une avancée dans le développement de dispositifs électroluminescents plus compacts, industriellement réalisables et respectueux de l'environnementIn this work we address the development of a light-emitting device, based on manganesedoped zinc sulfide nanoparticles, working under the application of an alternate-current voltage. Our device is based on a simple capacitive configuration implying a single layer of spin-cast nanoparticles sandwiched between two insulating thin films. In the first part of our work, we studied the nanoparticle system from a fundamental point of view. These nanoparticles, synthesized without the use of any surfactant by a microwave-assisted synthesis, are characterized by a phosphorescence activity in the orange region of the visible spectrum stemming from manganese dopants. In our work, we have observed and studied an enhancement of this optical activity under prolonged UV-light exposition. Our investigation allowed us to ascribe this phenomenon to a local lattice-strain effect around manganese chromophores due to a surface oxidation process induced by UV light. In a second part of our work, we focused on the dielectric properties of the insulating layers, consisting in an hafnium oxide film deposited by atomic layer deposition. By exploring several layer thicknesses and deposition temperatures, we have optimized the dielectric properties of the film, leading to more reliable and robust results. Moreover, we have also addressed the possibility of depositing an alumina layer by an in solution sol-gel approach, highlighting the main limitations of this technique. In the third part of the manuscript, the main characteristics of the complete electroluminescent device are addressed. More specifically, we recovered the orange emission band due to manganese doping, as well as the typical threshold behavior of the intensity of the emitted light as a function of the applied voltage. By exploiting structural characterization, impedance spectroscopy measurements and a careful comparison with theoretical works on similar devices, we have been able to state that the mechanism behind the observed light emission is a fieldinduced charge-creation process within the active layer only, followed by charge transport across the layer and radiative recombination within a single nanoparticle. Compared to previous works based on manganese-doped zinc sulfide nanoparticles, our key point has been the use of uncoated nanoparticles which allowed to achieve a very compact nanoparticle arrangement, favoring the physical mechanism mentioned above. Our work constitutes a step forward in the development of more compact, industrially feasible and eco-friendly light emitting devices

Les capacités des technologies de télédétection ont augmenté exponentiellement au cours des dernières années : de nouveaux scanners fournissent maintenant une représentation géométrique de leur environnement sous la forme de nuage de points avec une précision jusqu'ici inégalée. Le traitement de nuages de points est donc devenu une discipline à part entière avec ses problématiques propres et de nombreux défis à relever. Le coeur de cette thèse porte sur la modélisation géométrique et introduit une méthode robuste d'extraction de formes tubulaires à partir de nuages de points. Nous avons choisi de tester nos méthodes dans le contexte applicatif difficile de la foresterie pour mettre en valeur la robustesse de nos algorithmes et leur application à des données volumineuses.
Nos méthodes intègrent les normales aux points comme information supplémentaire pour atteindre les objectifs de performance nécessaire au traitement de nuages de points volumineux.Cependant, ces normales ne sont généralement pas fournies par les capteurs, il est donc nécessaire de les pré-calculer.Pour préserver la rapidité d'exécution, notre premier développement a donc consisté à présenter une méthode rapide d'estimation de normales. Pour ce faire nous avons approximé localement la géométrie du nuage de points en utilisant des "patchs" lisses dont la taille s'adapte à la complexité locale des nuages de points.
Nos travaux se sont ensuite concentrés sur l’extraction robuste de formes tubulaires dans des nuages de points denses, occlus, bruités et de densité inhomogène. Dans cette optique, nous avons développé une variante de la transformée de Hough dont la complexité est réduite grâce aux normales calculées. Nous avons ensuite couplé ces travaux à une proposition de contours actifs indépendants de leur paramétrisation. Cette combinaison assure la cohérence interne des formes reconstruites et s’affranchit ainsi des problèmes liés à l'occlusion, au bruit et aux variations de densité. Notre méthode a été validée en environnement complexe forestier pour reconstruire des troncs d'arbre afin d'en relever les qualités par comparaison à des méthodes existantes.
La reconstruction de troncs d'arbre ouvre d'autres questions à mi-chemin entre foresterie et géométrie. La segmentation des arbres d'une placette forestière est l'une d’entre elles. C'est pourquoi nous proposons également une méthode de segmentation conçue pour contourner les défauts des nuages de points forestiers et isoler les différents objets d'un jeu de données.
Durant nos travaux nous avons utilisé des approches de modélisation pour répondre à des questions géométriques, et nous les avons appliqué à des problématiques forestières.Il en résulte un pipeline de traitements cohérent qui, bien qu'illustré sur des données forestières, est applicable dans des contextes variés.Abstract : The potential of remote sensing technologies has recently increased exponentially: new sensors now provide a geometric representation of their environment in the form of point clouds with unrivalled accuracy. Point cloud processing hence became a full discipline, including specific problems and many challenges to face. The core of this thesis concerns geometric modelling and introduces a fast and robust method for the extraction of tubular shapes from point clouds. We hence chose to test our method in the difficult applicative context of forestry in order to highlight the robustness of our algorithms and their application to large data sets. Our methods integrate normal vectors as a supplementary geometric information in order to achieve the performance goal necessary for large point cloud processing. However, remote sensing techniques do not commonly provide normal vectors, thus they have to be computed. Our first development hence consisted in the development of a fast normal estimation method on point cloud in order to reduce the computing time on large point clouds. To do so, we locally approximated the point cloud geometry using smooth ''patches`` of points which size adapts to the local complexity of the point cloud geometry. We then focused our work on the robust extraction of tubular shapes from dense, occluded, noisy point clouds suffering from non-homogeneous sampling density. For this objective, we developed a variant of the Hough transform which complexity is reduced thanks to the computed normal vectors. We then combined this research with a new definition of parametrisation-invariant active contours. This combination ensures the internal coherence of the reconstructed shapes and alleviates issues related to occlusion, noise and variation of sampling density. We validated our method in complex forest environments with the reconstruction of tree stems to emphasize its advantages and compare it to existing methods. Tree stem reconstruction also opens new perspectives halfway in between forestry and geometry. One of them is the segmentation of trees from a forest plot. Therefore we also propose a segmentation approach designed to overcome the defects of forest point clouds and capable of isolating objects inside a point cloud. During our work we used modelling approaches to answer geometric questions and we applied our methods to forestry problems. Therefore, our studies result in a processing pipeline adapted to forest point cloud analyses, but the general geometric algorithms we propose can also be applied in various contexts.

All the researchers who worked in our laboratory contributed to this collection (Giovanna Tassoni 1986-2000, Benedetto Sacchetti 1996-2002 and Elisabetta Baldi from 1991). The study of learning, memory and behavior requires to follow a broad spectrum of neuroscience topics, ranging from neuronal biochemistry to neuropsychology. The Authors’ idea of publishing this collection comes from believing that a such website, though not exhaustive, might be a useful and targeted tool for the selection of bibliographic material in the field of behavioral neuroscience. The bibliographic references present at the publication (29500), accompanied by a brief comment highlighting the contents, are organized in relation to the topics (represented by the 99 themes) constituting the publication itself. The intersection of several references will point out the topics that represent them simultaneously. The book follows the course of events on the Eastern Front during the critical year of 1915, proceeding chronologically from January 1915 to the end of active operations in October, with a brief mention of some action in December. This chapter argues that authorial comments are an important tool of Thucydides’ historiographical strategy. As the comments interrelate with the longer authorial essays, the surrounding narrative parts of the Histories, and the speeches of its actors, they guide the reader in interpreting rich, complex text. Authorial comments are typically found at the opening of episodes or at the introduction of characters, and thus often create a frame for evaluating subsequent passages. When comments are asides, they may concern topics distant from Thucydides’ focus, like divination and early Greek legend. Although pushed to the fringes of his work, these topics display significant relations to contemporary events. Finally, the frequency of authorial comments increases in Book 8, the narrative of which points to a growing fragmentation of the Hellenic world, and needs more authorial guidance to remain understandable.

A striking feature of the life of practical agency is the substantial latitude it includes. One suggestion for how to explain this latitude is that such latitude points to pluralism in the very way that reasons favor: some reasons favor deontically, and other reasons only commend. However, there is a critical question about the comparative lives of such reasons. They presumably admit of different strengths, and are thus capable of ordering options. While one might agree that we have latitude to decline following the direction of a reason that merely commends, it seems that once we face two or more such reasons that offer competing recommendations, only the action supported by the better reason is a candidate for action. Against this challenge, this chapter argues that commendatory reasons have the ability to defend, in the cases we care about, the moral and rational acceptability of doing the less worthy.

Jimmy Reid was probably the greatest political orator of late twentieth-century Britain. He was at the forefront of the major turning points in the history of industrial relations and politics in Britain. His story is an epic one; from a poverty-stricken background in Govan, Glasgow, he became a communist at a young age, leading a national strike of engineering apprentices while only twenty, before being pitch into the national limelight as the leading spokesperson for the Upper Clyde Shipbuilders Work-In in 1971-2. Disillusioned with communism he left the Party for Labour and the centre-left before leaving them disenchanted with New Labour to join the Scottish National Party. His political journey from Communism, to Labourism, and ultimately to Nationalism (a political life in three acts) not only speaks of the complexities of left politics after 1945, but also illuminates and facilitates our understanding of institutions and social change in post-war Britain by showing how they were understood and negotiated by a particular individual.

AbstractThe illusion of firm borders and the ability of the European Union (EU), by actions or by its example, to convey its ideology to external actors is the issue of this chapter. At a time when the EU is confronted with the extreme expression of imperialistic political power in the form of the Russian military aggression towards the EU’s associate partner, Ukraine, the EU ideology of rule of law, democracy and social market economy is simultaneously challenged by the new pluralism of international relations, where the nondemocratic countries increasingly outnumber those sharing the EU qualities. The influence that the EU still exercises is analysed from seven points of view, stretching from theories of international relations and comparative law to the legal constraints of selling in the common market, a source of inspiration for establishing common markets in other parts of the world, being the hub of an extensive array of EU international trade agreements and an active member of the WTO. Finally, an alternative architecture of international relations, where China has an important role, is examined.

This chapter analyzes the provision of health services in Colombia, which are constitutionally recognized even if in reality they are far from being guaranteed in terms of gratuity and universal coverage for most of the population. A situation possibly brought about by the market orientation promoted by the legal framework and the effects it has brought in terms of general interest, in exclusion and in the tendency towards the deterioration in the provision of services. Some of the actors in the system, characterized by a common property, offer a real and effective alternative in getting closer to the right to health for all. In this context, the organizational logic of mutual associations stands out as an instrument to optimize public health policy even if a new institutional dynamic is required, with anew relation between the State and social organizations. A relation in which the concept of common good is an appropriate starting point and finality as a strategy of governing the institutional agreements that improve the relations between the public organisms and the citizens.

The goal is to evaluate whether the existent gap between hybrid peacebuilding theory and its practice has been successfully closed. Building upon a complexity-informed framework of hybrid emergence, the mid-space actor typology is developed to link between an analytical framework and practical application. This volume has demonstrated that mid-space actors can provide viable focal points for establishing resilient and self-sufficient social institutions from within without dictating the content of such emergences. The case studies of Cambodia and Mindanao were examined to assess the on-the-ground operation of mid-space actors, and the cases of China and Japan illuminated how the conceptual framework of hybridity could improve contemporary peacebuilding models.

AbstractThis chapter investigates a collaborative project aimed at strengthening cooperation and establishing common objectives regarding the planning of a coastal zone on the Swedish West Coast. The project included participants from municipalities, government authorities, and other relevant actors involved in planning and management of the coastal area. The aim of this chapter is to explore how the actors involved in the project understand the objectives of the collaborative approach, and how the project played out in practice. The chapter points to difficulties in agreeing upon joint goals in an institutional setting of an established division of responsibilities, but it also demonstrates how the collaborative project has several positive outcomes not formulated in its deliverables. The chapter also makes an argument that much communication within a project is only possible to observe if one studies it for a longer duration, becoming a natural element in the environment and getting to know the participants.

What is the relation between political action and architectural space? How do protesters and other actors transform urban spaces into stages for envisioning and enacting political change? How do architectural places in turn support, condition or even elicit public action? How are architects and designers political actors, and how can architecture, design, and art be considered to ‘act’ within the public realm? These questions were taken as points of departure for an advanced research seminar in architectural theory taught at Louisiana State University in the fall of 2020. The course explored the role that architectural spaces and practices play in different forms and modes of political protest action, not only in light of the Black Lives Matter protests that year, but also the global urban protest movements, uprisings and events of the last decades across the spectrum of concerns from human rights to climate change. In this paper I discuss how the seminar sought to examine protest action within the ‘architectural’ perspectives of space, place, inhabitation and making, as well as the capacity of architecture and art practices to ‘act’ in the mode of protest within the political perspectives of agency, speech, the common and appearance. The seminar took as a primary framework the political philosophy of Hannah Arendt, and the intrinsic relation she posits between the places of the fabricated, common world and the very possibility of political action. I then consider how place comes to be at stake in architecture as a mode of protest in students’ research on a wide range of topics, issues, events and practices. I conclude by reflecting on how such an architecture of protest would comprehend a radical place-making, acting to help establish the conditions for political action, and to nurture, support and sustain them so that protest actors may enact and embody claims for justice in their own acting and speaking.

These passive devices do not allow users to safely move down inclines or stairs as the user’s foot will always be pointed upwards when off the ground.

An analysis of the respective organizational histories, missions, and scholarly activity of the International Association for Cross-cultural Psychology (IACCP) and the Society for Community Research and Action (SCRA) indicates many points of shared values and actions, as well as some important differences. Both scholarly organizations developed out of a similar historical and cultural zeitgeist in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Our missions emphasize the role of culture/diversity in psychological phenomena, adopting an interdisciplinary orientation, the value of collaboration, the importance of research methods and ethics, and the value of action research. However, community psychology generally lacks an adequate treatment of cultural phenomena, while cross-cultural psychology often fails to draw on community and participatory methods useful for understanding culture in context. In this chapter, we examine these common roots and differences and then briefly present a study1 of intimate partner violence (IPV) in a community of Latinos in the United States that illustrates the benefits of an interdisciplinary, cultural community psychology. Finally, we propose several actions to develop further an interdisciplinary collaboration between the two fields.

One of the points of the project will be in the deepening of "digital maintenance" and everything that entails, starting from the programmed obsolescence of electronic devices up to the assisted repair or self-repair directly by the citizen to abandon the economy of the use and throws.

This paper addresses the ongoing trend of young people moving to cities, highlighting the need for better public transportation, a variety of housing options, and education that connects to local job markets in rural areas. The panel wants to change the common view that success and a good life can only be found in cities, showing instead that rural areas have a lot to offer. The report expands on several key areas: - Transportation: Young people in rural areas need easy and affordable access to public transit and various local travel options to support a fair transition to green transport. - Housing: There's a need for affordable and diverse housing, ensuring young people have good options for both renting and buying that meet their needs, and are linked to local services and community activities. - Education and employment: Young people need access to education at all levels in rural areas, with clear paths from education to local jobs, including options for remote work. - Health and recreation: There should be safe spaces for discussions about mental and physical health, as well as access to places for sports and other activities. - Community and social life: Funding is needed for public spaces and activities that bring people together, helping to create strong community ties. - Inclusion: Policies and discussions need to be accessible and relevant to young people, using their language and platforms to ensure they can actively participate and feel valued. Developed with input from 25 young people across the whole Nordic region, the panel’s recommendations provide a direct and valuable perspective for policymakers. It serves as a guide for creating appealing, dynamic, and sustainable rural communities, ensuring young people are at the centre of these efforts.

The creation of an intelligent supply chain is now an urgent national security priority that cannot be achieved without the joint mobilization of various stakeholders in Canada. It is not, however, an end in itself: the achievement of a single, competitive, sustainable, and consumer-focused domestic market should be the ultimate outcome of the national taskforce needed to collaboratively implement the recommendations of three complementary public policy reports published in 2022 on the state of the supply chain in Canada. The supply chain challenge is vast, and it will only become more complex over time. Governments in Canada must act together now, in conjunction with collaborative efforts with our allies and partners, notably the United States and the European Union, to ensure supply chain resilience in the face of accelerating current and anticipated upheavals, geopolitical conflicts and natural disasters. Québec's geostrategic position is a major asset, and gives it a critical role and responsibility in implementing not only the Final Report of the National Supply Chain Task Force ("ACT"), but also of the recommendations contained in the report published by the Council of Ministers Responsible for Transportation and Highway Safety (COMT) and those contained in the report of the House of Commons Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities published in Ottawa in November 2022, "Improving the Efficiency and Resilience of Canada's Supply Chains". The mobilizing approach towards a common data space for Canada's supply chain is inspired by Advantage St. Lawrence's forward-looking Smart Economic Corridor vision and builds on and integrates experience gained from various initiatives and programs implemented in Canada, the U.S. and Europe, as appropriate. Its initial implementation in the St. Lawrence - Great Lakes trade corridor will facilitate the subsequent access and sharing of data from across the Canadian supply chain in a reliable and secure manner. The accelerated joint development of a common data space is a game-changer not only in terms of solving critical supply chain challenges, but also in terms of the impetus it will generate in the pursuit of fundamental Canadian priorities, including the energy transition. La création d’une chaîne d'approvisionnement intelligente est désormais une priorité de sécurité nationale urgente qui ne peut être réalisée sans la mobilisation conjointe différentes parties prenantes au Canada. Elle n’est cependant pas une finalité en soi : la réalisation d’un marché intérieur unique, compétitif, durable et axé sur les consommateurs devrait être le résultat ultime du chantier national nécessaire à la mise en œuvre collaborative des recommandations de trois rapports complémentaires de politiques publiques publiés en 2022 sur l’état de la chaine d’approvisionnement au Canada. Le défi de la chaîne d'approvisionnement est vaste, et il ne fera que se compliquer au fil du temps. Les gouvernements au Canada doivent agir ensemble dès maintenant, en conjonction avec les efforts de collaboration avec nos alliés et partenaires notamment les États-Unis et l’Union Européenne pour assurer la résilience les chaînes d'approvisionnement face à l’accélération des bouleversements, conflits géopolitiques, catastrophes naturelles actuels et anticipés. La position géostratégique du Québec représente un atout majeur et l’investit d’un rôle et d’une responsabilité critiques dans la mise en œuvre non seulement du Rapport final du groupe de travail national sur la chaine d’approvisionnement (« ACT »), mais aussi des recommandations contenues dans le rapport publié par le Conseil des ministres responsables des transports et de la sécurité routière (COMT) et celles contenues dans le rapport du Comité permanent de la Chambre des communes sur les transports, l'infrastructure et les collectivités publié à Ottawa en novembre 2022 , « Améliorer l’efficacité et la résilience des chaînes d’approvisionnement du Canada ». La démarche mobilisatrice vers un espace commun des données pour la chaine d’approvisionnement du Canada s’inspire de la vision à terme du corridor économique intelligent d’Avantage Saint-Laurent et repose sur l'expérience acquise grâce à différentes initiatives et programmes mis en œuvre au Canada, aux États-Unis et en Europe, et les intègre tel qu’approprié. Sa mise en œuvre dans une première étape dans le corridor commercial du Saint-Laurent Grands Lacs facilitera l’accès et le partage par la suite des données de l’ensemble de la chaine d’approvisionnement au Canada de manière fiable et sécurisée. Le développement conjoint accéléré d’un espace commun de données changera la donne non seulement dans la résolution des défis critiques de la chaine d’approvisionnement mais aussi dans l’impulsion qu’il générera dans la poursuite de priorités fondamentales au Canada dont celle de la transition énergétique. Ce rapport Bourgogne propose une synthèse en quatre volets : 1. Un survol d’un arrière-plan caractérisé par de nombreuses consultations, annonces de stratégies, mesures et des résultats mitigés. 2. Une analyse croisée des recommandations de trois rapports importants et complémentaires de politiques publiques au niveau fédéral ainsi que de la stratégie québécoise, l’Avantage Saint-Laurent. 3. Une analyse des enjeux fondamentaux de capacité de mobilisation, d’exécution et de sous-utilisation des données. 4. Our long-term goal is to learn to control (expand and restrict) the host range of baculoviruses. In this project our aim was to expand the host range of the prototype baculovirus Autographa cali/arnica nuclear polyhedrosis virus (AcMNPV) towards American and Israeli pests. To achieve this objective we studied AcMNPV infection in the non-permissive hosts L. dispar and s. littoralis (Ld652Y and SL2 cells, respectively) as a model system and the major barriers to viral replication. We isolated recombinant baculoviruses with expanded infectivity towards L. dispar and S. littoralis and tested their infectivity towards other Lepidopteran pests. The restricted host range displayed by baculoviruses constitutes an obstacle to their further implementation in the control of diverse Lepidopteran pests, increasing the development costs. Our work points out that cellular defenses are major role blocks to AcMNPV replication in non- and semi-permissive hosts. Therefore a major determinant ofbaculovirus host range is the ability of the virus to effectively counter cellular defenses of host cells. This is exemplified by our findings showing tliat expressing the viral gene Ldhrf-l overcomes global translation arrest in AcMNPV -infected Ld652Y cells. Our data suggests that Ld652Y cells have two anti-viral defense pathways, because they are subject to global translation arrest when infected with AcMNPV carrying a baculovirus apoptotic suppressor (e.g., wild type AcMNPV carryingp35, or recombinant AcMNPV carrying Opiap, Cpiap. or p49 genes) but apoptose when infected with AcMNPV-Iacking a functional apoptotic suppressor. We have yet to elucidate how hrf-l precludes the translation arrest mechanism(s) in AcMNPV-infected Ld652Y cells. Ribosomal profiles of AcMNPV infected Ld652Y cells suggested that translation initiation is a major control point, but we were unable to rule-out a contribution from a block in translation elongation. Phosphorylation of eIF-2a did not appear to playa role in AcMNPV -induced translation arrest. Mutagenesis studies ofhrf-l suggest that a highly acidic domain plays a role in precluding translation arrest. Our findings indicate that translation arrest may be linked to apoptosis either through common sensors of virus infection or as a consequence of late events in the virus life-cycle that occur only if apoptosis is suppressed. ~ AcMNPV replicates poorly in SL2 cells and induces apoptosis. Our studies in AcMNPV - infected SL2ceils led us to conclude that the steady-state levels of lEI (product of the iel gene, major AcMNPV -transactivator and multifunctional protein) relative to those of the immediate early viral protein lEO, playa critical role in regulating the viral infection. By increasing the IEl\IEO ratio we achieved AcMNPV replication in S. littoralis and we were able to isolate recombinant AcMNPV s that replicated efficiently in S. lifforalis cells and larvae. Our data that indicated that AcMNPV - infection may be regulated by an interaction between IE 1 and lED (of previously unknown function). Indeed, we showed that IE 1 associates with lED by using protein "pull down" and immunoprecipitation approaches High steady state levels of "functional" IE 1 resulted in increased expression of the apoptosis suppressor p35 facilitating AcMNPV -replication in SL2 cells. Finally, we determined that lED accelerates the viral infection in AcMNPV -permissive cells. Our results show that expressing viral genes that are able to overcome the insect-pest defense system enable to expand baculovirus host range. Scientifically, this project highlights the need to further study the anti-viral defenses of invertebrates not only to maximi~e the possibilities for manipulating baculovirus genomes, but to better understand the evolutionary underpinnings of the immune systems of vertebrates towards virus infection.

Ce travail a pour objectif de nourrir la réflexion en présentant un état des lieux de différents services nationaux de données. Il porte sur sept infrastructures de services qui se sont développées dans des contextes différents mais qui partagent un grand nombre de points communs, à commencer par offrir un accès à un service de données à l’ensemble des chercheurs, à l’échelle nationale. Que ce soit pour faciliter l’accès et le partage de l’information scientifique ou répondre aux exigences des bailleurs de fonds, les services nationaux de données qui font l’objet de cette étude se sont développés autour d’un noyau de fonctionnalités communes : - un service de dépôt, - un service d’archivage pérenne, - un service d’assistance et d’accompagnement à la gestion des données. La plupart d’entre eux ont aussi choisi de proposer un service de signalement et d’accès qui s’appuie soit sur un outil de découverte interne, soit sur un moteur de recherche fédérant l’accès à des données provenant de services externes à celles déposées dans leurs entrepôts. Fruit de projets au long cours, les services nationaux de données restent des initiatives plutôt récentes, l’une d’entre elles doit ouvrir ses services au début de l’année 2021. Compte tenu du contexte très dynamique qui voient se multiplier les projets d’entrepôts institutionnels, le “temps long” qui caractérise la mise en place de services nationaux incite les opérateurs à opter pour des solutions techniques et organisationnelles flexibles, de manière à pouvoir s’adapter à l’évolution des usages et des attentes des utilisateurs. Dès le stade du projet, la consultation des acteurs clés et représentatifs de la diversité des écosystèmes scientifiques s’avère incontournable pour construire l’offre de services au plus près des attentes des publics visés. Une fois le service mis en place, ce principe de co-construction prévaut tout autant : rôle déterminant des institutions partenaires au sein des comités consultatifs, appels à projets de service, implication des chercheurs pour développer de nouveaux outils (ex. retours exprimés par les utilisateurs, recueil des besoins, tests). De la même manière, les services de données inscrivent leur activité au sein de réseaux nationaux et internationaux, ce qui participe à définir et renforcer leur rôle. La majeure partie de ces infrastructures nationales s’appuie sur le financement structurel assuré par le ministère de la recherche ou un bailleur de fonds public. En s’appuyant sur la collaboration ou la fédération, l’objectif de ces initiatives nationales est aussi de réduire les coûts pour l’ensemble des partenaires. Ces économies d’échelle, l’évaluation continue des services, l'interopérabilité des outils avec les écosystèmes existants et la fiabilité des solutions techniques représentent des points d’attention déterminants pour l’ensemble de ces dispositifs car ils conditionnent leur pérennité.

The starting point of the research project was the hypothesis that the "principle of proportionality", which is fundamental to law, is related to the "economic principle". The resulting methodological similarities were intended to enable a cross-disciplinary bridge to be built, which would allow the findings of economic analysis to be made fruitful for legal issues. This was practically tested in three study areas in order to be able to better classify the performance of the analytical tools. The foundations for interdisciplinary bridge building are found in the rational-choice paradigm. In both disciplines, this paradigm calls for an examination of the relationship between the purpose-means-relations: among the design options under consideration, the one must be selected that is expected to be as (freedom- or resource-) sparing as possible, in other words, the most "waste-free" solution to the control problem.The results of the economic analysis can thus be "translated" in such a way that, within the framework of "necessity", they support the search for control instruments that are equivalent to the objective but less disruptive. supports. The core of the positive economic analysis is the motivational situation of those actors whose behavior is to be influenced by a changed legal framework. In this context, the classical behavioral model of economics proved to be too limited. It therefore had to be developed further in line with the findings of research in institutional economics into homo oeconomicus institutionalis. This behavioral model takes into account not only the consequentialist, strictly situational utility orientation of the model person, but also other factors influencing behavior, including above all those that are institutionally mediated. If one takes the motivational situation of the actors as the starting point for policy-advising design recommendations, it becomes apparent that an understanding of governance dominated by imperative behavioral specifications leads to less favorable results, both in terms of the degree to which goals are achieved and in terms of the freedom-impairing effects, than a mixed-instrument approach oriented toward the model of "responsive regulation." According to this model, the law can no longer simply assume that those subject to the law will "obediently" execute the legal commands. It must ask itself what other factors determine behavior and under what boundary conditions changes can be expected in the direction of the desired behavior. For this reason, too, it must engage with the cognitive program of the behavioral sciences. This linkage opens up new perspectives for interdisciplinary research on the consequences of laws.
