Yang, Guang zheng. „Paysage, corps, parole chez Giono : une lecture thématique de la trilogie de Pan“. Paris 8, 1993. http://www.theses.fr/1993PA080825.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe aim of this research is reading the four elements (earth, water air (wind) and fire) in the three novels of jean giono -- hill, one of the baumugnes and aftergrass. Through a study about the omnipresence and activity of these elements in the textual space, this thesis tries to define the landscape as an imaginary domain. The first part of the thesis treats the elements' forms, mouvement and signifiant dimension. The second gets together the traits of the elements' imaginary body, and tries to state precisely its characteristics and its "landscape" in richard's meaning. The privilege is given to the muscular activity and the sexuality. This part states also the personages' bodies, the "body to body" between the elements and the man, and the reduction of the space. The third deals with the different rhetoric operations who constitute a "syntax of the imaginary". It shows the relation between the figure and the context, the style and the story's circumstances, the metaphorical plan and the representation of the reality. And

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis research proposes a very thorough examination of Portuguese colonial literature related to Mozambique in the 1920s. In the first part, contextual data is made available and concepts essential for carrying out the study of colonial texts in their historical time are defined. Biographical data about colonial authors and data about their works is presented. The analysis is then centred on the main cores, geographical and morphological, of the constitution and the division of the colonial subjects. The morphological perception of the other, based on a geographical reference, is directly related to the representations of Portuguese race‑thinking, developed to a large extent through Aryan Mythology and Social Darwinism. The texts studied show how the notions of the “struggle of the races” and of survival of the fittest among human communities contributed towards the elaboration of a “strategy of cruelty” and the unleashing of death flows of great intensity. The double process of deterritorialisation of populations through conquest and their reterritorialisation through the social transformation of space by colonial capitalism took place in a political context of totalitarianism. The installation of a racial dictatorship and the generalisation of terror forced the colonised into a position of economic and sexual servitude. The colonial desire also allowed the emergence of hybrid social or cultural forms and a questioning of discursive authority; those found an immediate opposition in the development of a politics of colonial domesticity
Baneth-Nouailhetas, Emilienne L. „Le roman anglo-indien de Rudyard Kipling à Paul Scott : discours colonial et discours poétique“. Paris 3, 1995. http://books.openedition.org/psn/3753.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis study seeks to underline the "generic" characteristics which evince the liberary unity of angloindian fiction. Through an investigation of novels by r. Kipling (kim), f. A. Steel (on the face of the waters), alice perrin (the woman in the bazaar), e. M. Forster (a passage to india), g. Orwell (burmese days), and paul scott (the raj quartet), this analysis underlines the dominance of ideological discourse as an essential element of colonial fiction, and more specifically, of the angloindian novel. The colonial discourse is absorbed by the narrative process and becomes the insturment of a poetic reflection on the modes of textual production. It thus breeds a poetic discourse which demonstrates, in its chronological evolution, the specificity and dynamism of anglo-indian fiction : the ideological discourse initiales a certain novelistic approach, and imposes itself upon narratives which inevitably refer to it. Indeed, whether it confirms or refutes colonial doctrines, the narrative cannot but acknowledge the existence of this discourse, as the colonial situation is the very context of its creation the anglo-indian narrative is therefore always predetermined by a hypotextual discourse, but this discourse becomes a vehicle of literary creation, as the anglo-indian novel constantly seeks to break free from its hold through innovative poetic techniques

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn the Alices and Peter Pan, Lewis Carroll and James Matthew Barrie form their object of desire, study the body being metamorphosed, the development of monstrosity, up to the distortion of the frames of their dream children who fragment and create doubles. The authors, driven by their will to subject someone, force a unique vision of their works on the reader, manipulate the main protagonist by attempting to direct the progress of his life and to ceaselessly stage his death. Alice and Peter try to become incorporeal in order to forget materiality and mortality; and their creators endow them with androgynous features to deny their sexuality and to find in these beings their own reflection. Nevertheless, their bodies appear as the centre of carnal sensations and expose themselves to the gaze of a loving and voyeuristic observer who wonders about the limit he has to set himself while fantasizing about his fusion with his object of desire

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleForeign and national imaginaries of the Brazilian Amazon are the result of a long and incomplete historical and literary construction started by Europeans in the 16th century. The first texts about the region gave accounts of a faraway, exotic and wild place. These representations would be permanently associated to the Amazonian space, in particular during the 19th century, when Brazil initiated its process of political emancipation and identity formation. In the vast project of constructing a national identity, it is important to understand how foreign imaginaries shaped the local imaginaries. And the Amazonian writers had a remarkable participation in establishing a collective identity. Wanting to secure a place for the Amazon in the national architecture, they used the traditions of the indigenous people as well as the knowledge of the Europeans. Using the study of travel narratives, of the press, of regionalist literature, through the lens of scientific theories and literary currents, and at the intersection of various disciplines, we will analyze the formation of imaginaries of the Amazon, how they have consolidated throughout the centuries, and to what extent Amazonian writers appropriated them to create a regional literature
Thesis, Paris 10, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019PA100012.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis dissertation studies the works of Pier Paolo Pasolini (1922-1975) in the light of suffering with the aim of exploring its representations and transformations and of giving a meaning to its expression. The goal it is to show the esthetical, symbolic and political functions of pain: if it is expressed trough different forms and topoï – which are distorted by the author – in the narrative works, it is either accompanied by ostentatious joy (“ab joy”) or it is turned into rage and fury in order to offer a critical view of society at the time of the so-called “economic miracle”. This dissertation investigates Pasolini’s production through an interdisciplinary approach, relaying on works of literature, philosophy, art, history and anthropology. Through the concept of « figure » I mean to show how suffering bodies, lamentations and tears resonate from a poem to a movie, from a play to a novel. This dissertation is made up of three parts: it begins with the analysis of the narrative proses written between 1946 and 1950, then it focuses on the suffering of the wretched, the underclass, the outcasts, and finally it explores the way pain transforms the characters of the plays. The last chapter explores how contemporary filmmakers, novelists and street artists deal with Pasolini’s legacy
Bar-Kochva, Sharon. „Les pseudonymes dans les littératures yiddish et hébraïque du milieu du XIXe siècle au milieu du XXe siècle“. Thesis, Sorbonne Paris Cité, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015USPCF001.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleModern Yiddish and Hebrew literatures are closely connected by a common long history, sharing many stylistic and thematic features. However, both literatures significantly differ in their use of pseudonyms. In Yiddish literature, authors’ pseudonyms appear rather frequently, and a significant number of the most important writers are known mainly in their pseudonyms, while in modern Hebrew literature pen names remained a relatively marginal occurrence. This research analyses pseudonymity in both literatures in order to explain this discrepancy. In the first chapter, the various patterns used in building pseudonyms are analysed, so to establish a general typology of the phenomenon. Subsequently, I focus on the "lasting" pseudonyms, namely those that accompany authors for a long time, shaping and determining their public image. In the second chapter I describe in detail under which circumstances and in what ways the "lasting" pseudonyms were created and used. Finally, in the last part the information analysed previously is utilised, clarifying that pseudonymity is actually a social phenomenon, and defining the social and historical factors that led to the adoption of pseudonymity as one of the "invented traditions" of modern Yiddish literature

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis research applies to describe the different methods of representation of the human body in the contemporary Moroccan novel. The image of the body is separated in two categories: the female body and the male body. Inside each category, we can notice a dichotomy in which beauty is opposed to ugliness, fertility to sterility, and good to evil. Signs and symbols make bodies to be the incarnation of the angel or the devil. The purpose of this research is to find the elements of questions about writing, signs, narrations when it represents the body as objet in the romantic space. A body is still a representation of a personality in the world. To resolve the problem of the body is to resolve the problem raised by personality and world
Haderlé, Aurélie. „Inter doloris aculeos : souffrance et ascèse dans la correspondance de saint Jérôme. Une approche littéraire et anthropologique“. Thesis, Montpellier 3, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017MON30084.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis analyzes Jerome's Correspondence as a social practice, in its literary form and in its ideological content. Jerome's letters expose and promote the ideal of ascetic life which is based on the experimentation of various types of suffering. The monk develops a plurality of discourses to meet the needs of the plurality of his readership and the different social and cultural contexts that he faces. The Greek and Stoic philosophical thoughts conceived ascetic practices as entrainments to virtue. Jerome has established parallels between philosophical and Christian ascetic disciplines and techniques. The monk’s asceticism based on these different traditions creates a new model of ascetic life. The form and the intensity of the asceticism promoted by Jerome change between his youth, his eremitical failure at Chalcis and his encounter with the circle of the Aventine. The monk progressively promotes an asceticism presented as moderate. He forges a new ethnotype of the ascetic from the ethnotype of the Roman noble. The monk turns his back on the gospel message and spreads an asceticism restricted to the nobles : his propaganda campaign produces a new type of spiritual prestige that transcends social prestige. The importance of the figure of the ascetic in Jerome’s discourse raises the question of its social function. The great ascetics are characterized by their contempt for secular activities and by their patience to face austerities and sufferings. They are essential to the society of the fourth century to arouse and preserve the disgust of easy pleasures among the faithful

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis research project examines the representation of the experience of extreme violence in the contemporary fictional space of Sub-Saharan Francophone Africa. The numerous works of prose fiction written in the wake of the armed conflicts of the 1990s and the Rwandan genocide raise questions related to the representation of pain, cruelty and death as well as to the ethics of art. How do literary texts put into narrative traumatic events? How do writers think and problematize extreme crises of immediate history? By the means of what literary modalities are these crises constituted into an object of knowledge and awareness? And what esthetic and language strategies have been privileged to convey the memory of the atrocities in order toprovide testimony or aim at critical reflection? This thesis explores the writing of the collective tragedies that, from a historical and socio-cultural perspective, mark the start of a new period of violence in Sub-Saharan Africa. In this context, we are focusing predominantly on texts that are characterized – through the distinctive choices of form and style operated by the authors – by a radicalization of discourse and particularly violent plots and esthetics. This research which interrogates the powers and the possible limits of art in the representation of facts of extreme violence analyses an extensive corpus of novels and short stories published between 1998 and 2010 and suggests a multidisciplinary approach which, next to literary and esthetic theories, draws on history, sociology, anthropology and psychiatry
Bégué, Anne-Lise. „Géographie de l'enfance dans Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865) de Lewis Carroll, Le Avventure di Pinocchio (1883) de Carlo Collodi, Peter Pan (1911) de James Matthew Barrie, et Le Petit Prince (1943) d'Antoine de Saint-Exupéry“. Thesis, Le Mans, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017LEMA3007.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleEntitled « Childhood's Geographies in Alice'sAdventures in Wonderland [1865] by Lewis Carroll, Le Avventure di Pinocchio [1883] by Carlo Collodi, Peter Pan [1911] by James Matthew Barrie and Le Petit Prince [1943] by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry », this thesis investigates the concepts of space, place, and the world of childhood, by focusing on the treatment of space. We approach these four works in children's literature, not from the perspective of the character, but rather from that of the relationship between the geography developed through the narration, and the enduring popularity of the works. Although childhood fancy seems to be at the principle of the creation of worlds, the ephemeral materialization in space can be named the force behind the elaboration of mythical places. By putting in relation such notions as the children's illusion, the space of the fantastic, the space of the marvelous, the spatialization of children's desire and the de-materialization of territory by memory and tale, the hypotheses formulated in this thesis find their place among the studies on fantasy literature, and put the spatialization of fancy at the core of the discussion

Allen-Hornblower, Emily. „La poétique de la douleur : images de la souffrance dans la poésie grecque archaïque et classique“. Thesis, Paris 4, 2010. http://www.theses.fr/2010PA040002.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe present study offers an exploration of selected representations of physical and moral pain in archaic and classical Greek poetry, with a focus on the poetics. The analysis centers on the extent to which depictions of pain fulfill a central role in the works selected, as motor of the plot, instrumental mode of characterization, and link to key overarching themes. In the course of the examination of its poetic function, the cultural-historical question of pain’s ethical and social value emerges as a dominant background axis of investigation. Three works serve as case studies: the Homeric Iliad (book V in particular), Aeschylus’ Oresteia (mainly the Agamemnon), and Sophocles’ Philoctetes. The first chapter deals with the portrayal of divine pain in the Iliad, by contrasting it with that of mortals. The second chapter seeks to offer a better understanding of the portrayals of pain and loss in Aeschylus’ Oresteia, with particular focus on the perverse nature of Clytemnestra’s maternal suffering. The third and final chapter turns to the representation of pain in Sophocles’ Philoctetes and the ambivalence of the eponymous hero’s suffering, analyzing how it serves both as a threat and a catalyst to the humanity of the sufferer himself and that of his witnesses
Profizi, Alexandra. „Autofiction et réseaux sociaux ˸ récits de soi chez Chloé Delaume et Tao Lin“. Thesis, Paris 3, 2019. http://bibnum.univ-paris3.fr/webclient/DeliveryManager?pid=323388.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe self-images produced by an author within autobiographical novels tend to overlap, in our digital era, his or her online representations, thus influencing the reading of the text, the institutional position of the writer and his or her relationship to the reader. More broadly, although it is not necessary to take into account the actual person producing the work of art (including in the case of autofictions), the figure he or she constructs within literary speech and digital spaces for expression breaks the boundary between text and what is located outside of the text. In order to parse what the encounter between the digital version and the literary version of the author involves, I chose to focus on the works of Chloé Delaume and Tao Lin. The latter uses material coming straight from his own social media in his novels, highlighting elements of referentiality (especially between person and persona), now available to what I call readers-internet users. As for Chloé Delaume, she explores new media through various mediums of fiction: she uses technological tools as a frame, akin to an Oulipian constraint, in order to let a specific kind of writing emerge. What interested me in their approaches is their construction of a transmedia self-narrative leading on the one hand to a new diegetic matrix and on the other to new ways of reading. The reader's curiosity can be nourished by social media; however, not only does the access to the writers' life remain an illusion, but it only gives more power to them if they wish to manipulate the reader
Boulant, Nadine. „Les mécanismes du recrutement des plantules et leurs effets sur la vitesse d'invasion des ligneux pionniers dans les pelouses : comparaison d'une espèce indigène (Pinus sylvestris L.) et d'une espèce introduite (Pinus nigra Arn. subsp. nigra) dans les grands Causses“. Montpellier SupAgro, 2008. http://www.theses.fr/2008NSAM0005.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleInvasion speed of woody species in open habitats depends on propagule pressure, species invasiveness and environment invasibility. The importance of these components and the underlying mechanisms are estimated in the case of the invasion of the Grands Causses (south of Massif Central, France) by a native species (Pinus sylvestris L. ) and an introduced one (Pinus nigra Arn. Subsp. Nigra). Experiments and analysis of recruitment patterns by inverse modelling show that seedling recruitment is limited by both seed supply and environmental conditions. Grazing and geology are the major environmental factors, but the duration of summer drought also strongly reduces seedling establishment rates. Shrubs facilitate the survival of seedlings by protecting them from drought stress and herbivory. The release of grazing can open transient invasion windows, linked to the release from herbivory and a limited herb competition. Integration of these results in a spatially explicit and stochastic demographic model, shows that grazing is the main factor controlling pine population growth and invasion rates. The effect of shrub cover, generally negative, becomes positive under an intensive grazing pressure, whereas the frequency of dry years has few effects. The introduced species shows a higher invasiveness than the native one. We discuss the contribution of this study to fundamental ecology, knowledge of landscape dynamics and management practices
Murcia, Thierry. „Jésus dans la littérature talmudique“. Thesis, Aix-Marseille, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012AIXM3076.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis study presents a survey and a systematic analysis of the passages of Talmudic literature (Mishna – Tosefta – Palestinian Talmud – Babylonian Talmud – Midrashim), relative to Jesus or are supposed to be. The documents are examined, criticized and confronted to other sources of Jewish or Christian origin (Hellenistic Jewish literature, Jewish Apocrypha, rabbinic sources, Targumim, Toledot Yeshu – New Testament, Apostolic Fathers, Church Fathers). The investigation tries to answer to several questions: - What did the rabbis exactly know about Jesus? - Has their information any historical value? - Has their perception undergone some evolution? - Did the rabbis of the Talmud have access to the Gospels as a written source? The conclusion of this thesis is that all these documents are rooted in their Sitz im leben. They obviously attest – contra Peter Schäfer (Jesus in the Talmud, 2007) – that the rabbis had no direct acquaintance with the Gospels as written documents. This study also shows, concerning the Babylonian Talmud, that all the passages relative to Jesus belong to the last editorial layer of this corpus (VIIe-VIIIe century)
Eluther, Ena. „L'africanité dans la littérature caribéenne“. Thesis, Le Mans, 2013. http://www.theses.fr/2013LEMA3001.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleCan the africanity of caribbean cultures come down to distant survivals, or constitute the foundation of these cultures ? Literature, as a mirror of peoples, as a painting of cultures, as art, allows to perceive the cultural and literary continuity between the african continent and its caribbean diaspora. The comparison of english-speaking and french-speaking novels from the Caribbean and from West Africa and Central Africa shows common cultural features and literary topoi from one area to the other : colonial trauma, protection and adaptation of ancestral legacy, common spiritual values, linguistic problematics, paintings of resistance struggles in which the writer himself is in the frontline. This comparative study, which sometimes draws from caribbean and african oral literature, as from caribbean spanish-speaking literature, suggests that one should view the afro-caribbean cultural expressions as an extension of african cultural expressions, offering in this way a large panorama of the cultural and literary black world. From 1921 to the early years 2000, this analysis takes into account the changes of african and caribbean literatures and the societies they represent. Have the changes definitively broken the african civilizational unity, the cultural links between Africa and the Americas ? On the contrary, the reading of the novels of the corpus shows an homogeneous and coherent picture of cultural and literary expressions of Africa and its caribbean diaspora, so doing putting Africa back into the center of caribbean culture

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe goal of the present dissertation is to confront a specific object, the “pin-up”, to aspecific time and location: the so called « Pre code » Hollywood era. First of all, we wish todefine the pin-up as both a feminine and cinematographic figure, and to go beyond themere “woman as object “ that she is frequently reduced to. A careful study (relying, amongother, on sequence analysis) of pin-up archetypes created between 1930 and 1934 in acultural perspective, influenced by gender studies, makes it possible, first, to deconstructthe notion that Pre-code era has been a period of cinematographic freedom. Moreover, looking back at the history and evolution of the pin-up, and understanding how they can beused in a feminist agenda, helps turning this hypersexualised feminine figure into a deviceto analyze gender relationships, able to reveal the mechanisms, sometimes cleverlyconcealed, of masculine domination. In this respect, the strategies that pin-up charactersresort to in order to fight patriarchal order are revealing. Pin-up evolving in the horrorgenre, or the character of Jane Parker impersonated by Maureen O’Sullivan in MGM’s sixfirst Tarzan should complete this survey. The variety of archetypes that have been selectedhere seem, eventually, to lay bare a common difficulty, shared by all cinematographic pinup, regardless of their ontological status - their mere existence

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe subject of this thesis is the research of the contribution of the antique latin abusive literary practise to the social complexity and to the imaginative world. The thesis develops, in three distinct parts, a statistical, linguistic, literary and sociological study of the abusive terms in all the literary genres (125 texts and 50 authors) from IIIrd century BC to the fell of Rome in 475. It includes : - Abuses and Latin language (Volume I). Through a corpus of 1370 words and 2344 quotations, the author studies the different types of abusive words, their origins, constructions, senses and how they are employed in the latin sentences. - Abuses and latin literature (Volumes II and III). The author lists the uses (frequency and density) of abusive terms in theatre, in speeches, in poetry and in prose (philosophical or political studies, novels, correspondence. . . ). He studies the role and the functions of abuses in the texts and the connection they have with poetry, rhetoric and eloquence. - Abuses and antique roman Society (Volume IV) where is analyzed the social field of abuses according to the social groups, the Men/Women relations and the different forms of the practice of abusing naming. A special chapter is devoted to the antique roman imaginative world of abuses. The conclusion is about the civilizing role of abuses as welle in the antique Rome as in our collective unconscious. The corpus of words and quotations is detailed in a lexicon Latin-French and an index French-Latin (tome V). The lexicon is also available in. Pdf format as a CD-Rom
Benachir, Hynde. „Le "haiku" dans la littérature hispanique“. Thesis, Bordeaux 3, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016BOR30036/document.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe purpose of this thesis is set at a crossroads between linguistics and literature since it is about the haiku in Hispanic literature, which we aim to characterize as a poetic form in the Spanish-speaking literary context and as a "prototype" of the brief from the perspective of its discursive and enunciative terms. Traditionally associated with Japanese culture, in which it takes root, the haiku is one of the shortest poetic forms in the world. With its seventeen syllables in all, it compels to the greatest thoroughness in the choice of words, a concise expression and a "condensation" of the meaning that make it a succint poem, often to be pondered after reading. Neither verse nor rhyme are part of the metrical constraints of the Japanese haiku. Its aesthetics, influenced by Zen Buddhism, aims to be contemplative, supported by the subjectivity of the poetic voice, which appears as a "witness of the world", only transposing facts that are sometimes "unimportant", often trivial, yet nonetheless a part of any person's daily life. In Western poetry, the haiku has no equivalent, owing as much to its brevity as to its "puristic" aesthetics. However, it should be noted that it is strongly represented in contemporary Hispanic literature. Neither the Orientalism from the beginning of the XXth century nor the poetic re-assessments started by the Modernists and carried on by the Avant-Garde movements are enough to explain this enthusiasm of the Spanish-speaking poets for this Japanese poem. Indeed, Hispanic literature took hold of this literary phenomenon as soon as the first translations of Japanese anthologies were published, in the 1910s. There is, however, no linguistic connection between the haiku and Spanish-speaking poets. Nevertheless, the first collections of haikus also date back to the 1910s, which indicates that there was no latency between the appearance of the haiku and its adaptation into Spanish. Starting from these observations, we attempted, through a multi-focal approach notably based on literal analysis, to retrace this poetic form's literary and linguistic path, from the Japanese rice paper rolls to the so-called "Hispanic" haiku
Vincent, Manon. „Les animaux dans la littérature hellénistique“. Thesis, Paris 4, 2016. http://www.theses.fr/2016PA040225.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleOur study focuses on animals in Hellenistic literature. We deliberately chose to work on a large text corpus in order to highlight the multiple representations of the animal appearing in the texts of the period. The first part of this study is devoted to animal imagery through which the authors describe the characters and human qualities, exposing, to a lesser extent, the analogue relationship between animals. The second part aims to show existing relationships, symbolic or real, between man and animal. The staging of the animals in the story reflects thepractices and ways of thinking of the Hellenistic society towards the animal. The last part of this study presents the attempts to objectify the behaviours and qualities of the animal. In that sense, it shows the rise of philosophical schools and sciences of the period by the philosophical and didactic approach to animal nature. In texts, Hellenistic thought reveals the continual tension between belief and knowledge, between cultural representations and "scientific data" of the animal. If the authors conceive man as belonging to the animal biological continuum, they stand out by the assertion of their superiority in an intellective perspective

Dupuy, Francis. „Le pin de la discorde : les rapports de métayage dans la Grande Lande“. Paris, EHESS, 1990. http://www.theses.fr/1990EHES0016.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleTill the middle of the nineteenth century "la grande lande" , heart of the forest of the landes, used to be a country where heathland predominated and economy was based on agricultural and pastoral life. Then occured a methodical planting of pinasters which modified the landscape to a considerable exent and the economy and the social system as well. The already existing share-cropping system, used as a way of development, tended to be extended and, to be, principally, changed with the tapping of the resin. This new resource in raw materials added to the gulf that seperated the forest-owners from the share-croppers. The money rent, which governed the share of the resin, grew markedly prevailing. The combined effect of those two factors led to the point where inter-personal relations between the social partners and the old paternalism gave way to very contrasting and increasingly conflicting relations between these social classes. A very working-class looking trade-unionism helped the resin share-croppers organize themselves over the whole forest. So, the originality of the share-cropping system in the "resin-tapping landes" lies in the fact that the monetarisation generated a great change in the producers' political behaviour and turned the farm-labourers they used to be into all-but-workers. Such is the direct consequence of ancient agriculture based on food-crops and essentially meant for self-subsistence being wiped out by a new economy based on industrial lumbering and essentially meant for the market

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleSince the 80s, the postcolonial literatures have been raising increasing interest. Through a corpus of francophone and anglophone novels (from Chamoiseau, Condé, Kourouma, Waberi, Naipaul, Okri, Roy and Rushdie), this study intend to give a clear definition of the notion of hybridity, which is often associated to these literatures. Then, it analyses the way this hybridity is expressed in the novels and tries to show in which way it inscribes itself in an identity strategy. Postcolonial novels, with their diverse and sometimes contradictory heritage, are born on shaky ground, especially as their intended audience is often complex and as they often depend on recognition from Europe. They are peripheral literatures, whose place and legitimacy are not guaranteed. As such, they need to specify their context of enunciation all the more carefully and to develop a very specific scenography. It appears that these literatures rely on an ethos of loss, which is certainly felt as a suffering, but also as liberating. The hybrid also questions the notion of belonging. Embodiment of many identity aporias, it forces to think anew the traditional references. Finally, hybrid discourse, pervaded by perpetual negociation, sets itself up to be a new discourse, the reflection of the today’s changing world. Rather than to represent the identity crisis exclusively as the unhappy condition of the postcolonial individual, the postcolonial literatures turn it into a privileged position from which to elaborate new ways to be in the world

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe Horn of Africa has a traditional oral literature which is rich and varied as the rest of the continent, starting from pastoral mythology to poetry, legend and storytelling. But with the social upheaval which occurred with the arrival of European settlers and the introduction of writing, the chain of transmission of the oral tradition is threatened. Many Europeans have sought to describe the habits and customs of these people. Whereas on the other hand, the writers from the Horn of Africa are often inspired by giving it (orality) and a new way of doing it. The following research work strives to reflect traditional forms of orality and their impact on modern literature

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis schematizes, in Malicroix by Henri Bosco, the process that presides to the writing of the novel itself. Using a poietic approach, we consider the text as a writer’s poetic that takes a fictional form. A phenomenological perspective allows us to study the novel from the point of view of perception, and mythocritique enables us to reflect on the perception of the world – especially the world of the text – through the angle of the sacred and its symbols. Reconstructing the horizontal and vertical structures of the novel, we reflect on diverse aspects of the text and of the scriptural process. The reading horizon constitutes the first chapter of our thesis and offers a triple view on the novel: the story and the characters, the spatiotemporal context and the mythical point of view. In the second chapter are elaborated two central notions, the figures and the chronotopes. Two groups of figures emerge, one associated with the writer as creator of the text and the other, with the process of expression. The figures play distinct roles in the conception and expression and are represented in Malicroix by way of the characters. The chronotopes study divides the novel in eleven times-spaces that constitute the basis of the figures’ progression through the text. The third chapter details how the figures cross the chronotopes’ series, drawing the scriptural route inscribed in eleven successive situations in the text. The last chapter contains two parts. The first examines the writer’s poetic that Bosco published under the title « L’exaltation et l’amplitude ». The second, which constitutes the final objective of our study, integrates the elements of this writer’s poetic in the eleven successive situations, producing a description of the stages of the scriptural process followed by Bosco while writing Malicroix.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleFrom the 16th Century until the 20th, le troyan myth emerges in a variety of forms in French literature with famous or less known works but of equal significance as they convey the climate and the spirit of an era. The reason why all of these writers go into mythology could be partly explained by the imitation of ancients applied to the French letters of the 16th and 17th centuries. How this material is transformed, what the writers are expressing through the legends and the myths, which is the relationship of the transformed materiel with the initial, are some of the questions that this research is requested to explore. During the period of the Absolutism in which the freedom of expression is limited, the myth is proved to be a secure means which offers the security of the distance, the suitable frame and the flexibility of the mythological material which are processed by the creators. It becomes the vehicle of doubt and criticism of various grades against authority. The end of this political period removes from the myth this function. But it doesn’t stop its use in literature and the theater. This is because the myth is capable of putting again questions for the vital causes which deal with the human race, such as the woman, the war, the xenophobia

The ancient fund of celtic mythology together which tradition and variety of psychological and social codes combine to weig in turn upon the heroes' longues, thus makinf the hindered speech - in manifgold facets - onr of the central motifs of arthurian literature. It is all the more evident as the impeded world always sets its seal to the human destiny from sheere silence to a sibylin ot veiled discourse or else a temporarily impossibl utlerance: it is afantastic stepping-stone to the attainment of knowledge, to the happy development of personality, and to the revival of genuine and promising speech a recall of the divine model. Repress the flow of speech and it tells better: actually this is what all those romances paradoxically teach and this lesson is to foundin their advancingnarrative as well as in their rhetoric. Indeed, the writers themselves constantly seem to restain their discourse, to stopi to hold it in; but is pnlu have it guessed, or even supplied by the reader following an infernal process of addition. The paradox which appears between the huge amount of writing in the arthurian literature and the way words are refrained stands merely as a semblance: when performed in the fiction of romances the speech keeps being hindered and therefore the stream of the words used in the arthurien book runs endlessly

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe Byzantine general Belisarius is simultaneously a great conqueror and a blind beggar, a historical personage and a figure of legend. He appears repeatedly in literature and the arts across Europe from the sixth century to the present. His importance has been noted before, but up till now he has never been the object of a broad and far-reaching synthesis. The present study, which is based on a vast bibliographical investigation of major and minor sources, retraces more than fifteen hundred years of history of the theme, emphasising in particular its legacy in French literature. It is important to show just how universal this forgotten figure once was, and this study maps out definitively the history of a hero who became a myth during his very long peregrinations. Its point of departure, still famous today, is the treatment of Belisarius during the Enlightenment

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis research work deals with Caribbean literature and more precisely with the issue of narration. A literary corpus will be used to study migrations and amalgamations within societies living in Cuba, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Caribbean writers have always been very concerned with History, and their attempts to describe their own society have been a constant phenomenon since the early 20th century. Thanks to this thesis, we will try to see whether all the contributions brought along via migratory movements toward, inward and outward Caribbean have been acknowledged by the culture of the host countries. The study is divided in three parts: the first will present the concepts and the historical background alluded to in the novels and short stories, the second will consist in a textual analysis, the third will focus on some authors' points of view. Marta Rojas, Luis López Nieves and Marcio Veloz Maggiolo have been asked five questions about Caribbean literature, their own oeuvre and their sources of inspiration. Thanks to their answers, we will try to figure whether nowadays Caribbean literature should be considered as one or many
