This article addresses the problem of professional training of future psychologists. It is assumed that it is possible to find an optimal correlation between the acquisition of special knowledge and the formation of personal readiness of psychologists for professional activity. As demonstrated in the article, the character of this correlation depends on the use of a specific method of teaching, and more specifically, the conception of teaching oriented towards forming certain personal qualities. For the efficient education of psychologists it is necessary to make a systemic analysis of expected personal changes in the process and as a result of teaching them. In theory we are realizing an analysis of expected personal changes in the process and the result of teaching them in following modern conceptions of teaching: of programmed teaching, of problem-based teaching, of euristic teaching, of developing teaching, of media-education, of interactive teaching, of active social and psychological teaching, of person-oriented teaching, of experiential teaching. In this paper the author analyzes the main principles of resource-oriented teaching. Resource-oriented teaching creates the ground for the optimal combination of the requirements of professional preparation and personal development of psychology students.

In experimental psychology, the problem of non-acceptance of oneself, one’s environment, and the world around is one of the relevant issues. The author notes that the accepted in contemporary society popular opinions associated with self-acceptance often have manipulative or prescriptive nature and are the negative attitudes blocking the person activity and leading to its stagnation. The resolution of the stereotyped image of this phenomenon is possible from the perspective of historical-theoretical analysis of the study of self-acceptance. The paper presents various approaches to the understanding of self-acceptance by foreign and Russian psychologists within such psychology areas as neofreidism, gestalt-psychology, existential, and humanistic psychology. The author considers the changes in the study of self-acceptance, notes that despite different views of classical psychologists on the understanding of this phenomenon, they define self-acceptance as an active process promoting self-improvement and self-actualization of a person. This fact conflicts with the latent meaning of widespread life theses on self-acceptance. The paper emphasizes the possibility to study self-acceptance from the perspective of the subject approach as a phenomenon initiating the activity of a person in organization and regulation of own life activities, promoting further development of a person, its self-actualization. The author considers the controversial characteristics of self-acceptance as a subject characteristic: self-acceptance allows changing from self-understanding to self-improvement, at the same time, the high level of self-acceptance requires a particular level of development of the personal agency. The author notes the paradoxical understanding of the self-acceptance phenomenon largely within the frames of positive self-attitude, which can promote the “Self” image idealism and lead to intrapersonal regress.

The article is devoted to the study of the problem of differences in interpersonal interaction of representatives of different socionomic professions. The indicators of interpersonal interaction are procedural such as: primary contact, communication, relationships and structural and personal characteristics: motivational, emotional, volitional and cognitive. The following representatives of socionomic professions were studied: psychologists, teachers, journalists, social educators and managers. It is empirically determined that groups of psychologists, teachers, managers and journalists do not differ significantly in the manifestation of indicators of interpersonal interaction. They demonstrate sufficiently developed qualities that provide interpersonal interaction at all stages. As for social educators, they have a much lower level of procedural features of interpersonal interaction compared to other specialists. Significant differences in the manifestation of structural and personal characteristics of interpersonal interaction between all groups of subjects were revealed. Social educators understand other people better than representatives of all other professions, are able to resolve interpersonal conflicts. Much worse, but this characteristic will also be sufficiently demonstrated by teachers, psychologists and managers. Journalists have difficulty resolving interpersonal conflicts. The specificity of interpersonal interaction of representatives of socionomic professions is emphasized.Key words: interpersonal interaction, primary contact, communication, relations, structural-personal features, socionomic professions.

The methods used for the analysis were the following “Diagnostics of personal creativity” (E.E. Tunik), “Definition of social creativity of the individual” (A.V. Batarshev), “Self-assessment of the creative potential of the individual” (N.P. Fetiskin, V.V. Kozlov, G.M. Manuylov), “Nonverbal creativity level diagnostics” (E.P. Torrance). The purpose of the study was to determine and compare the features of creativity of pedagogical and medical universities students. The analysis of the results showed that students have a high level of nonverbal creativity, an average level of personal creativity and self-esteem of creative potential, and social creativity is slightly above the average level. Medical students have a higher level of social creativity compared to pedagogical students, and personal creativity, on the contrary, is lower. In addition, such parameters of personal creativity as imagination and complexity are statistically significantly higher for future psychologists; there are no significant differences in the parameters of curiosity and risktaking. Differences in self-assessment of creative potential among students of pedagogical and medical universities are insignificant.

Abstract Previous literature within applied sport psychology offers little detailed discussion regarding the personal qualities of sport psychology practitioners and the impact of these qualities on practice. This paper presents an exploration of the views of sport physicians regarding the personal characteristics and qualities of applied sport psychologists deemed necessary for effective practice. Five UK-based physicians and one Head of Medical Services, working in a range of elite and professional sports, were interviewed about their experience and perceptions of working with sport psychologists. The interview transcripts were content analysed and trustworthiness criteria applied. Four key themes emerged from the data, labelled ‘Personal qualities’, ‘Relationship Building’, ‘Professionalism in Practice’, and ‘Similarities between Psychologist and Physician’. The findings within each theme offered interesting insights into the impact of personal qualities on effective sport psychology practice. This study extends the existing literature on sport psychologists’ characteristics and effectiveness and offers new insights into their personal qualities and how these interact with the practice environment. The findings supported the growing emphasis within the field on the importance of the person behind the practitioner. Suggestions are offered with reference to the need to consider how literature from counselling psychology and medical training could assist the development of practice and education and training in sport psychology.

The article deals with the problem of personality development of a student-psychologist within the framework of a competence approach. The competence approach, in general terms, is based on the notion that a student must master a certain set of special competencies that include the knowledge, skills, skills and personal qualities necessary for further professional activities. In other words, in the process of training, the future specialist must master a unique set of professional and personal competencies, corresponding to his individual characteristics. However, most often in the educational process, the emphasis is not on developing the necessary personal qualities (competences). Relying on the main provisions of cultural and historical psychology, which most consistently formulated by V.V. Davydov, in particular, that the intellect and emotions should be in internal unity, and that the universal moments of the person's mental development are his education and upbringing, in this work a model is proposed for the development of the personal competencies of a psychologist student, which includes three elements: psychological Border of personality, emotional intelligence and self-relationship.

The monograph is devoted to the study of the socio-psychological features of regional elections that influence the socio-political behavior of the electorate. The authors propose a new understanding of the psychological nature of the processes of forming the voting choice, which brings us closer to a more correct understanding of the complex political and psychological mechanisms of the strategy and tactics of regional election campaigns. The identified individual and personal indicators of the influence of the electoral characteristics of candidates on the voting of various categories of voters were developed and tested at the regional level. A number of practical recommendations on the organization of election campaigns, designed to take into account the psychological specifics of the behavior of the electorate in the framework of regional elections (elections with weak content), are empirically proved. It is intended for managers and specialists of regional election commissions, political scientists and psychologists who study issues related to the patterns of electoral behavior, graduate students and undergraduates engaged in research in the field of political psychology, as well as political strategists who ensure the effectiveness of election campaigns.

The purpose of this study was to explore the characteristics, skills, and experiences of master couple therapists and to gain a deeper understanding of how these experts approach the specialized practice of couple therapy. Seven psychologists and two social workers designated by their professional colleagues as “master couple therapists” participated in a qualitative interview and wrote narratives about their skills, characteristics, and experiences. Individuals who nominated these “master couple therapists” were also interviewed to further understand their choice to nominate these particular practitioners. Data from master couple therapists and nominator participants were analyzed using a category construction and thematic analysis process. Three overarching themes emerged from the data and suggested that this group of master couple therapists demonstrated a remarkable commitment to personal development and self, professional development, and relationships. The importance of engaging in self-care, ongoing learning, and developing strong personal and professional relationships is explored.

Nascent entrepreneurship has long been studied from a variety of perspectives. A major stream of work by psychologists and sociologists suggests that nascent entrepreneurs have distinctive traits and competences. A second focus for research has been studying the environment in which nascent entrepreneurs operates. Recently, the identification and exploitation of entrepreneurial opportunities has emerged as a third focus. In this paper we will address the following questions: (1) what are the individual characteristics of those individuals who are attracted to becoming an entrepreneur? (2) What are the environmental factors contributing to new venture creation? (3) What are the steps in the creation process? We will attempt to answer these three questions by arguing that the central process of nascent entrepreneurship is centred on opportunity recognition, evaluation and exploitation, and influenced by contextual factors (e.g. external knowledge) and personal characteristics and competences (e.g. internal knowledge).

The article is devoted to the study of the characteristics of oncology patients’ psychoemotional status. This topic is relevant, since the number of detected cases of cancer is growing annually in Russia and around the world, the annual mortality from which in Russia alone is more than 160,000 people per year. It is outlined that the treatment of oncology patients is a complex and long process involving a wide variety of medical specialties. It is emphasized that the therapy for any malignant tumor is discussed and agreed upon by a special council, which usually includes a surgeon, oncologist, radiologist, chemotherapist, immunologist. However, many researchers acknowledge that often patients also need the help of a psychologist as a positive attitude can significantly help in the fight against a formidable disease. The study of psychoemotional aspects of oncology patients has already been carried out earlier. However, in 2020, the world is faced with a new threat – a new coronavirus infection, as a result of which the entire way of providing medical care has changed. The authors pay special attention to the fact that due to quarantine measures, even cancer centers were closed on a periodic basis, leaving, temporarily, patients in need without qualified assistance. It is the fact that determines the purpose of the work – the analysis of various aspects of oncology patients’ psychoemotional status. The objects of the study were 300 oncology patients, men and women, who were divided into 3 groups of 100 people, depending on their age: 18–40, 41–60, 60+. Then there was a further division into subgroups, depending on whether the oncology was newly diagnosed. The authors believe that the study is interesting since it was carried out in 2 stages – before the period of coronavirus infection and with its spread. The levels of situational and personal anxiety in patients were determined, various depressive states were identified, and patients’ main fears were indicated. The authors come to the conclusion that during a period of unfavorable epidemiological situation, the psychoemotional state of the patients worsened: the level of anxiety increased, various depressive states developed, and patients’ fears changed. The data obtained are of certain interest, both for practicing oncologists and psychologists, and for health professionals.

Qualitative research is an increasingly popular method of enquiry in biomedical, clinical and behavioural research. Once regarded as the preserve of social scientists and psychologists, qualitative methods have entered the mainstream of epidemiology and clinical research, as evidenced by the publication of a series of papers in the British Medical Journal (Britten 1995; Mays and Pope 1995; Pope and Mays 1995; Pope et al. 2000). The qualitative methods to be described in this chapter offer a scientific approach to understanding and explaining the experiences, beliefs, and behaviour of defined groups of people. The contrasting features and the complementary roles of qualitative and quantitative methods of enquiry will be described. While the majority of chapters in the present volume are concerned with research methods designed to answer questions such as ‘how many?’ or ‘how frequently?’, qualitative methods enable us to explore the ‘why?’, ‘what?’, and ‘how?’ of human behaviour. Since the aim is to understand the meaning of the phenomena under study from the perspective of the individuals concerned, the direction of enquiry is guided more by respondent than researcher. This approach is particularly appropriate to complex phenomena such as the range of beliefs that underlie illness behaviour and the aspects of health care that matter to different service users. Qualitative enquiry would focus on identifying beliefs and describing the circumstances that surround particular behaviours, while quantitative research would focus on measurable characteristics of the sample and the frequency and outcome of their behaviour. An example of the contribution of the two methodological approaches is the study of variations in treatment of depression in older people. Epidemiological studies in the community and in primary care settings have found that the prevalence of depression in older adults far exceeds the prevalence of the disorder among those consulting their general practitioners. To identify the factors associated with this disparity, qualitative researchers would set out to explore the reasons why older people with depression do and do not present their symptoms to the GP. The aim would be to describe the range of beliefs about depression among attenders and non-attenders. The quantitative approach would involve establishing the strength of associations between personal characteristics, external factors, and behaviour of older people with depression. It is clear from this example that both approaches are complementary in identifying the nature of the disparity. Qualitative research is based on the premise that each individual's experience is unique and the beliefs that underlie illness behaviour can only be measured once identified and described from a variety of individual perspectives. When information of this type is combined with data on prevalence and variable risk, more appropriate services and outcome measures can be developed.

One of the most promising sectors in the global economy is Tourism, yet in Russia, the sector's potential is far from fulfilled. Tourism should be at the heart of the core priority areas of Russia's economic development, particularly true in view of the current economic slump. Russia has no shortage of regions with visibly high potential for developing tourism, yet there are a number of problems, characteristic of Russia, which impede its progress: malnourished tourism coupled with an unsophisticated infrastructure, a shortage of personnel, weak marketing, a gloomy business climate, and a lack of adequate regulatory frameworks. Be this as it may, the slump, rather than being a hindrance, should be considered a fresh opportunity for the Russian tourism sector. Russia has been ranked 45th in the latest edition of the biennial Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report, improving its performance by 18 points from its 2013 ranking of 63rd. The ranking, which includes 141 countries, is compiled by the World Economic Forum and Strategy Partners Group every two years, and assesses “the set of factors and policies that enable the sustainable development of the Travel and Tourism (T&T) sector, which in turn, contributes to the development and competitiveness of a country.” In 2013, the WEF cited hefty prices as one of the main disadvantages of the Russian tourist market. The availability of natural and cultural heritage sites has ensured additional points for Russia in the overall ranking; in these areas the country ranked 34th and 21st, respectively. Tours to Russia have become more affordable following the recent devaluation of the ruble – the value of the national currency against the U.S. dollar has fallen by 44 percent since May 2014. As a result, accommodation in hotels has become markedly cheaper. In addition, the consultants noted an improvement in air links (22nd). The present research is an attempt to analyze the development of domestic and inbound tourism in Russian Federation.

This article represents an analysis of professional identity of the psychologist in conjunction with with the features of their communicative and gender ‘Me’. The work of the psychologist is seen in different systems: person-person, person-group, person-society. Difficulties associated with the need to build quality person-centred communication, but at the same time maintain the boundaries of professional care, are described. In this case, communication competence can be considered not only as criterion of rendering efficient help to a client, but as a condition for forming professional identity of the psychologist. This paper presents the results of an empirical study of the identity of psychologists using the techniques of T. Kun, T. McPartland ‘Who am I’ (in versions by T.V. Rumyantseva, I. S. Kletsina, N.L. Ivanova). The processing of the results included quantitative and qualitative analysis. The analysis of the data revealed the components of identity that may hinder the formation of a stable professional identity. It has been shown that psychologists are primarily oriented towards constructing identity through personal dispositions; the communicative component of their identity is linked to their professional image. A poorly expressed necessity in communication, or domination of negative characteristics in describing one’s own communication skills is reflected in the psychologist’s lack of professional identity. When a professional identity is formed, the aspects of gender identity become blurred and professional characteristics that are the professionally important qualities of psychologists begin to dominate in personality descriptions. The connection between the formation of the psychologist’s professional identity and the peculiarities of their communicative and gendered ‘Me’ is shown. The individual’s acceptance of professionally important qualities (as a positively formed communicative identity component and gender-neutral characteristics) allows the psychologist to build a sustainable positive professional identity.

The study aims to explore the differential-regulatory predictors of academic performance in the graduating classes of high school. Conscious self-regulation is considered as a universal and exceptional resource for achieving educational goals in the final grades. In modern conditions of digitalization of the educational process and increasing information flows, the individuals’ ability to set goals and optimally achieve them, while maintaining curiosity, achievement motivation, and the desire to develop their personality, is of particular value. The main research question is: what regulatory, motivational, and personal characteristics of students with different regulatory profiles act as their psychological resources for successful school graduation? The study aims to investigate the contribution of regulatory, motivational, and personal characteristics to the annual assessment in mathematics and Russian in high school students with different profiles of conscious self-regulation. The following results were obtained from a sample of students in grades 9–11 (N = 355, average age M = 15.81 ± 0.926). Regression models of the contributions of regulatory, motivational, personal, and emotional-motivational indicators to the performance in mathematics and Russian were constructed for six selected individual typological groups of students. The results showed that only a high harmonious profile of self-regulation ensures that the student is “focused” on high academic achievements. Any conflict in the motivational or personal sphere distracts the resources of the graduate from educational activities. The process of self-regulation (Modeling) is suppressed in all groups as a result of preparation for exams. The regulatory profile and motivational and personal characteristics of students who risk not passing the examination tests without the intervention of teachers and psychologists are determined.

The relevance of the study is that the phenomenon of emotional intelligence at the modern stage of science development is already generally recognized among psychologists, sociologists, philosophers, etc. The whole scientific community today recognizes the need and importance of developing the characteristics and capabilities of emotional intelligence, as they contribute to the professional and personal growth of a person, influence his success in life. The problem of the study is the study of selfregulation as a multi-component system where emotional intelligence is of particular importance. This problem is reflected in the pedagogical sphere. The effectiveness of the professional activity of a specialist engaged in the field of «man-man» is largely conditioned by the ability to self-regulate and successfully develop the personal qualities necessary for the profession, because the teacher as a subject of pedagogical activity is a combination of individual, personal, subjective qualities, the adequacy of which the requirements of the profession ensure the efficiency of his work. The aim of the study is to determine the place of EQ in the system of self-regulation components as one of the personal qualities of the teacher, to identify the main provisions of EQ development and its impact on self-regulation. The main methods of study are theoretical analysis method and empirical methods (observation, testing). The result of the study can be considered the determination of the place of EQ in the system of self-regulation components as one of the personal qualities of the teacher, as well as the identification of the basic provisions of EQ development in the conditions of pedagogical activity. The development of emotional competence and emotional intelligence of the teacher is a necessary condition for the effectiveness of his professional activity, as EQ occupies a special place in the self-regulation of the teacher, which is due to the specificity of the content of professional activity.

Statement of the problem. The article formulates the problem and purpose of a study focused on identifying the characteristics of the doctors life-world stability during the pandemic associated with COVID-19. The problem of this study is due to the contradiction between the desire of people for stability, certainty, the ability to control their lives and the circumstances and conditions of the pandemic regime that limit people in such aspirations and opportunities. Purpose of the article: to recognize the characteristics of the doctors life-world stability during the pandemic associated with COVID-19. Methodology (materials and methods). The research methodology was composed of systemic anthropological psychology, which allows a person’s living space to be considered as his (human) not linear, but multivariate future. At the same time, it becomes possible to consider the processes of self-fulfillment in space and time (chronotope), that is, in a life scan that has not yet taken place, but which a person is a part of. The methodological potential of systemic anthropological psychology in conjunction with the conceptual foundations of the theory of life self-fulfillment allows us to consider the human life-world stability as an opportunity for life self-realization of the project of one’s life. This project just makes up such a characteristic of a person that can manifest itself precisely in the processes of life’s self-fulfillment. In order to maintain the chronotopic logic of human life in the context of this study, we used the author's methodology “Study of the human life-world stability” (Loginova, 2012). The total sample size was 78 doctors: 58 - doctor on duty; 20 - attending doctor. Research results. For the first time, data were obtained on the characteristics of the doctors life-world stability during the pandemic associated with COVID-19. The specifics of changing the time mode of events, the emotional background, the continuity of personal history and the decrease in reflexivity are key. According to the above parameters, significant differences were found in the indicators before the events associated with the special epidemiological regime of the pandemic caused by COVID-19 and during the pandemic. Conclusions in accordance with the purpose of the article. The materials presented will allow psychologists to take these results into account when working with doctors who have particularly experienced the period of the pandemic associated with COVID-19, keeping these parameters in focus as targets for psychological assistance. The obtained data actualizes the need to develop special psychological support programs when leaving the special epidemiological regime of a pandemic.

"Patients suffering from oncological diseases are the focus of attention of both physicians and psychologists. Although tumor lesions of bones and soft tissues are a relatively rare condition, its effect on the person’ mind and lifestyle are significant, and its treatment is a challenge, also in terms of patient’s adaptation to the disease and therapy. There are various strategies for treating this pathology; all of them are associated with high-tech medicine focused on maintaining or improving patients’ quality of life (QoL). The aim of the present research is to study the psychological characteristics and QoL of patients undergoing surgical treatment of tumor lesions of bones and soft tissues of lower limbs. Material and methods. 36 patients were examined (mean age 58,22; 19 – men). The SF-36 questionnaire, Ways of Coping Questionnaire (WCQ), and Big Five Personality Test (BFI) were used. Treatment by means of the isolated limb perfusion technique was prescribed to 15 patients (group 1); 21 patients were subjected to lower limb amputation due to their disease (group 2). Results. It was found that patients who underwent amputation are characterized by lower rates on the coping scale ‘accepting responsibility’ than patients from the perfusion group (p < 0.05); at the same time, patients from the second group had higher values on the ‘openness’ scale of the BFI compared to the first group (p < 0.1). The study of the relationship between patients’ QoL parameters, personality and coping showed that in the first group the values on the coping scale ‘seeking social support’ negatively correlate with ‘bodily pain’ (p < 0.01), and ‘escape–avoidance’ negatively correlates with ‘social functioning’ (p < 0.01). In the second group, the following significant correlations between personality traits and QoL were revealed: ‘extraversion’ is positively associated with ‘physical functioning’, ‘role-emotional’ and ‘mental health’ (p < 0.01), ‘agreeableness’ has a negative correlation with ‘bodily pain’ and ‘general health’ (p < 0.01), ‘neuroticism’ is negatively related with ‘bodily pain’ and ‘general health’ (p < 0.01), ‘openness’ is positively associated with ‘bodily pain’ and ‘general health’ (p < 0.01). Conclusion. The data obtained emphasizes the importance of taking into account personality characteristics in the management of patients with cancer, including tumor lesions of the bones and soft tissues, as well as the dynamic nature of QoL and its close interconnection with the stage and strategy of treatment and patients’ personality. Psychological support for patients is required for their successful adaptation to the illness and therapy. Acknowledgement.
