The existence of philanthropic institutions in Indonesia has provided many roles, one of which is the welfare of the community through ziswaf funds, but most people do not have knowledge related to philanthropic institutions. Lack of knowledge of philanthropic institutions causes the role of institutions to be less than optimal. The existence of this paper will provide knowledge about the existing programs at the ACT institution, so that it can be used as a reference in participating in helping the welfare of the community, both nationally and internationally. This study aims to examine the role of ACT for the welfare of the global community, because ACT is still consistent in global humanitarian action. The method used is a qualitative research method using a case study method. ACT's role for the welfare of the global community is realized through programs such as distributing waqf and humanitarian workers, especially in conflict-affected areas, even having branch offices such as in Palestine.

This research looked at the overall impact of the global financial crisis on the Palestinian economy from 2005 to 2021, focusing on two periods: the first from the start of the global crisis in the fall of 2008 to December of that year, and the second from December of that year to the end of that year 2011. The findings of this study show that Palestine's strong reliance on the prices of foodstuffs, oil, olive oil, fruits, vegetables, and food items as a whole has resulted in a rise in the prices of oil and gas, commodities, and foodstuffs as a result of the worldwide crisis. We also discovered that the banking and tourist industries were unaffected by the downturn. The information is given in a series of tables with statistical analysis to back it up. This research backs up this theory with solid empirical data. In terms of Palestinian economic growth, it should be highlighted that for the past two decades, the Palestinian National Authority has relied on foreign donations and grants to fund its expenditures. This revenue source has recently dwindled, resulting in the suspension of public worker salary payments as well as a reduction in overall government spending. Large and persistent trade deficits, on the other hand, continue to push the government and the private sector into unsustainable debt. Because there is no national currency in Palestine, both the governmental and commercial sectors rely on foreign reserves. Although the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) and the Palestinian Monetary Authority (PMA) have so far avoided a systemic currency crisis, existing deficit financing patterns are unlikely to last permanently, since domestic foreign reserves are fast diminishing and arrears mount. The amount of debt owed is increasing at an alarming rate. This leaves the administration with two alternatives for funding the deficit: either selling debt instruments on the capital markets or using the Palestinian Monetary Authority to introduce Palestinian currency to cover expenditures. Capital market financing without monetary authority, according to the study, leads to large interest rate volatility and financial instability. Given terms of monetary finance, in the existing institutional and economic framework, there are no criteria for creating a national currency.

In 1917, the AFL endorsed the British government’s Balfour Declaration, which called for a Jewish homeland in Palestine. This marked the first time that the American labor movement engaged with the issue of a Jewish homeland in Palestine. However, most Jewish trade unionists, centered in the garment industry, did not support the AFL’s endorsement of the Declaration as they rejected the nationalist overtones associated with it. Most Jewish trade unionists descended from the Bund, the General Federation of Jewish Workers of Lithuania, Poland, and Russia. Bundists viewed Zionist support for a Jewish homeland in Palestine as anathema to their socialist views, and they bitterly clashed with Zionists over the issue of Palestine. However, the creation of Histadrut, the General Federation of Jewish Workers in Palestine in 1920 altered the dynamic. By the early 1920s, a small number of labor leaders who were either Labor Zionists or Bundists who viewed Histadrut as a fellow labor movement worth supporting. Led by Max Pine, the leader of the United Hebrew Trades, these labor activists started raising funds for Histadrut in 1923 through the Gewerkschaften campaign. These fundraising drives continued through the 1920s and marked the true engagement of American labor with Jewish labor in Palestine.

This chapter commemorates Moshe Mishkinsky. Mishkinsky was one of the premier scholars of the history of the Jewish labour movement. Born in Białystok in 1917, Mishkinsky emigrated to Palestine at the age of 19, where he developed an interest in the Jewish workers’ movement. He distinguished himself in the scholarly community as an authority on the Jewish labour movement in general and on the history of the Bund in tsarist Russia in particular. He was among the first scholars to challenge the prevailing view, enshrined in the Bund’s own post-war five-volume Geshikhte fun bund, that the development of a national programme within Jewish socialist circles was the result of pressure from below, from the Jewish masses. Mishkinsky’s second contribution included a pioneering study, published in English in 1969, on the role of regional factors in the formation of the Jewish labour movement.
