Abstract Online tracking techniques, the interactions among trackers, and the economic and social impact of these procedures in the advertising ecosystem have received increasing attention in the last years. This work proposes a novel formal model that describes the foundations on which the visible process of data sharing behaves in terms of the network configurations of the Internet (included CDNs, shared cookies, etc.). From our model, we define relations that can be used to evaluate the impact of different privacy mitigations and determine if websites should comply with privacy regulations. We show that the calculus, based on a fragment of intuitionistic logic, is tractable and constructive: any formal derivation in the model corresponds to an actual tracking practice that can be implemented given the current configuration of the Internet. We apply our model on a dataset obtained from OpenWPM to evaluate the effectiveness of tracking mitigations up to Alexa Top 100.

Zusammenfassung Das BIM-Modell als zentrale Stelle der Daten und Informationen weist vielfältige Potenziale für den gesamten Lebenszyklus eines Bauwerks auf. Noch weitgehend ungenutzt sind diese Vorteile im Baubewilligungsverfahren. Die Stadt Wien betritt einen sehr innovativen Weg und startete das von der EU geförderte Forschungsprojekt BRISE-Vienna, in dem ein komplettes openBIM-Bewilligungsverfahren entwickelt wird. Dieser Artikel befasst sich mit den dafür notwendigen openBIM-Grundlagen, den Prüfroutinen sowie der rechtlichen Situation in Wien. Sie dienen als Basis für die Definition unterschiedlicher BIM-basierter Modelle, die im Zuge des Baubewilligungsverfahrens erforderlich sind. Neben dem von den Planenden eingereichtem Bauantragsmodell entstehen aus baurechtlichen Anforderungen ein Referenzmodell und ein Antragsinformationsmodell. Die letzteren Modelle dienen der teilautomatischen baurechtlichen Überprüfung des Bauantragsmodells. Für die Modellprüfung ist die Entwicklung eines detaillierten Prüfsettings erforderlich. Dies ist ein iterativer Entwicklungsprozess, der im Anschluss an das Forschungsprojekt schrittweise in den Realbetrieb eines openBIM-Bewilligungsverfahrens übergehen soll.

Musculoskeletal simulations are used in many different applications, ranging from the design of wearable robots that interact with humans to the analysis of patients with impaired movement. Here, we introduce OpenSim Moco, a software toolkit for optimizing the motion and control of musculoskeletal models built in the OpenSim modeling and simulation package. OpenSim Moco uses the direct collocation method, which is often faster and can handle more diverse problems than other methods for musculoskeletal simulation. Moco frees researchers from implementing direct collocation themselves—which typically requires extensive technical expertise—and allows them to focus on their scientific questions. The software can handle a wide range of problems that interest biomechanists, including motion tracking, motion prediction, parameter optimization, model fitting, electromyography-driven simulation, and device design. Moco is the first musculoskeletal direct collocation tool to handle kinematic constraints, which enable modeling of kinematic loops (e.g., cycling models) and complex anatomy (e.g., patellar motion). To show the abilities of Moco, we first solved for muscle activity that produced an observed walking motion while minimizing squared muscle excitations and knee joint loading. Next, we predicted how muscle weakness may cause deviations from a normal walking motion. Lastly, we predicted a squat-to-stand motion and optimized the stiffness of an assistive device placed at the knee. We designed Moco to be easy to use, customizable, and extensible, thereby accelerating the use of simulations to understand the movement of humans and other animals.

OpenVPN access server merupakan salah satu solusi VPN yang sangat cocok diterapkan untuk perusahaan maupun personal karena mudah dikonfigurasi dan bisa dipasang pada server secara on-premise. Walaupun pengguna sudah menggunakan protokol OpenVPN namun masih ada celah keamanan pada sisi DNS apabila masih menggunakan DNS milik ISP yang menerapkan banyak filtering. Untuk itu protokol OpenVPN dapat digabungkan dengan protokol DNS Over HTTPS (DOH) agar traffic DNS juga sulit dimanipulasi atau diblokir. Keamanan dan kestabilan akses menggunakan OpenVPN mempunyai Quality of Service (QoS) yang mendekati akses langsung, yang mempunyai nilai selisih paket dikirim dibanding paket diterima sekitar 1,7%. Ketika ditambahkan protokol OpenVPN dan protokol DOH secara bersamaan maka selisih rata-rata paket loss akan naik menjadi 1,8%. Akses ke DNS dengan OpenVPN+DOH mempunyai response time yang lebih besar dibandingkan dengan akses DNS ke ISP secara langsung. Namun response time DNS ini tidak terlalu berpengaruh pada kecepatan akses karena DNS berfungsi untuk menerjemahkan alamat domain menjadi IP address. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melakukan analisis keamanan akses internet dengan cara melakukan dial VPN menggunakan protocol OpenVPN yang digabungkan dengan protokol DNS Over HTTPS.

Development using OpenRTM faces two problems: few support tools are officially provided, and a software distribution policy has not been established thus far. We have developed an OpenRTM developer support tool package, RTMEXTender, which includes a package management system and a launcher mechanism. Its main objective is to provide three functional elements: a package dependency solver, a oneline chain builder using dependency, and a one-line multi-process launcher for large complex RTM systems. In this paper, we introduce the system construction of RTMEXTender and its philosophy, and compare it with ROS tools. Its availability is demonstrated using an example of an image conversion library between OpenRTM and OpenCV.

The expansion of scale and the increase of complexity of construction projects puts higher requirements on the level of collaboration among different stakeholders. How to realize better information interoperability among multiple disciplines and different software platforms becomes a key problem in the collaborative process. openBIM (building information model), as a common approach of information exchange, can meet the needs of information interaction among different software well and improve the efficiency and accuracy of collaboration. To the best of our knowledge, there is currently no comprehensive survey of openBIM approach in the context of the AEC (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) industry, this paper fills the gap and presents a literature review of openBIM. In this paper, the openBIM related standards, software platforms, and tools enabling information interoperability are introduced and analyzed comprehensively based on related websites and literature. Furthermore, engineering information interoperability research supported by openBIM is analyzed from the perspectives of information representation, information query, information exchange, information extension, and information integration. Finally, research gaps and future directions are presented based on the analysis of existing research. The systematic analysis of the theory and practice of openBIM in this paper can provide support for its further research and application.

An increase of tightly integrated, renewable energy sources with highly varying production leads to a greater need for flexible hydropower plants to “balance” the intermittent production from these sources. From a systems perspective, the intermittency aspect constitutes a disturbance, while the tight integration leads to a multivariable systems, both of which causes increased challenges for good control. This instigates the need for a model based analysis and synthesis tool which can describe dynamic phenomena, supports multiphysics problems, and allows for immediate use in advanced control analysis and design. Previously, an open source Hydro Power Library (OpenHPL) have been developed within the multiphysics Modelica eco-system which satisfies the above requirements: OpenHPL contains a set of model units relevant for hydropower systems, as well as examples of tools for analysis of these models for control purposes. Thus far, OpenHPL has been validated by comparison against other simulation tools. However, a real test of OpenHPL is to use it to describe a real hydropower plant using minimal plant information, to tune model parameters against experimental data, and to validate the model. As a case study, experimental data from the Trollheim hydropower plant in Norway have been made available, and used to test OpenHPL. By flow sheeting a hydropower model in OpenModelica using OpenHPL, the model can be simulated from within a script language (Python via the OMPython API, Julia via the OMJulia API) and further analyzed using analysis tools in the script language. Based on default model parameter suggestions from OpenHPL, least squares model fitting was carried out in Python, and the model was validated with good model fit. Important parts of the modelling phase were the development of a new friction model for the Francis turbine, and iterations on the description of the turbine outlet geometry. The results are complemented with a discussion of possible uses of the model.

The development of Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) technology makes it easier for a user to monitor a room. However, the use of CCTV still cannot reach all levels of society due to the price is relatively expensive. Therefore, it is necessary to build a new system that has the same features as CCTV devices in general but at a more affordable price. This system was built using the OpenWRT operating system. The operating system will be installed on a wireless router with several additional tools to support its functionality such as speakers, GSM modems, webcams, and flash drives. The resulting system has the ability to detect movement and store images and videos when suspicious movements are detected. In addition, this system also has several other features such as alarm alerts, Short Message Service (SMS) warnings, user email reports, and easy access via WIFI and the internet.

A turn from homogeneous to heterogeneous architectures permits to achieve the advantages of the efficiency, size, weight and power consumption, which is especially important for the built-in solutions. However, the development of the parallel software for heterogeneous computer systems is rather complex task due to the requirements of high efficiency, easy programming and the process of scaling. In the paper the efficiency of parallel-pipelined processing of video information in multiprocessor heterogeneous systems on a chip (SoC) such as DSP, GPU, ISP, VDP, VPU and others, has been investigated. A typical scheme of parallel-pipelined processing of video data using various accelerators has been presented. The scheme of the parallel-pipelined video data on heterogeneous SoC 1892VM248 has been developed. The methods of efficient parallel-pipelined processing of video data in heterogeneous computers (SoC), consisting of the operating system level, programming technologies level and the application level, have been proposed. A comparative analysis of the most common programming technologies, such as OpenCL, OpenMP, MPI, OpenAMP, has been performed. The analysis has shown that depend-ing on the device finite purpose two programming paradigms should be applied: based on OpenCL technology (for built-in system) and MPI technology (for inter-cell and inter processor interaction). The results obtained of the parallel-pipelined processing within the framework of the face recognition have confirmed the effectiveness of the chosen solutions.

OpenMP is attracting wide-spread interest because of its easy-to-use parallel programming model for shared memory multiprocessors. We have implemented a "cluster-enabled" OpenMP compiler for a page-based software distributed shared memory system, SCASH, which works on a cluster of PCs. It allows OpenMP programs to run transparently in a distributed memory environment. The compiler transforms OpenMP programs into parallel programs using SCASH so that shared global variables are allocated at run time in the shared address space of SCASH. A set of directives is added to specify data mapping and loop scheduling method which schedules iterations onto threads associated with the data mapping. Our experimental results show that the data mapping may greatly impact on the performance of OpenMP programs in the software distributed shared memory system. The performance of some NAS parallel benchmark programs in OpenMP is improved by using our extended directives.

The authors have developed a novel system framework for a historic preservation system utilising open standards and open source tools. The framework enables the integration of open standard 3D models and GIS in a virtual environment (VE). It also allows the storage and harvesting of data via an open source web-based central repository. The framework is designed for bi-directional interoperability when utilised for monument tracking, preservation, conservation, re-excavation, etc. To date, no such system framework exists for the development and management of historic monuments using open standards e57 for terrestrial laser scanning (TLS) data, the industry foundation classes (IFC) for 3D semantic rich models, and CityGML for integrating IFC and GIS in a VE. The web-based VE is accessed from the BimServer and envisaged for monitoring monument erosion, movement, and damage to monuments by human activity or nature, collaboration between different industry actors to share knowledge, experience, and expertise globally, etc.

With the advances in technology and the quality of life, the family of the growing number and variety of terminals, a demand that automatic networking, shared resources, interconnected and mutual control and for users of home network is growing. This paper aims to design and implement an intelligent terminal with OpenWrt system based on Linux. The terminal is a gateway which has router management control functions, and load and run the compiled modules based on OpenWrt SDK in OpenWrt routing system. The intelligent terminal has completed a preliminary functional tests can be run in real network environments. The terminal will do as a prototype for future improvements and extensions of the home gateway.

Relatively few biomechanical models exist aimed at quantifying the mechanical risk factors associated with neck pain. In addition, there is a need to validate spinal-rhythm techniques for inverse dynamics spine models. Therefore, the present investigation was 3-fold: (1) the development of a cervical spine model in OpenSim, (2) a test of a novel spinal-rhythm technique based on minimizing the potential energy in the passive tissues, and (3) comparison of an electromyographically driven approach to estimating compression and shear to other cervical spine models. The authors developed ligament force–deflection and intervertebral joint moment–angle curves from published data. The 218 Hill-type muscle elements, representing 58 muscles, were included and their passive forces validated against in vivo data. Our novel spinal-rhythm technique, based on minimizing the potential energy in the passive tissues, disproportionately assigned motion to the upper cervical spine that was not physiological. Finally, using kinematics and electromyography collected from 8 healthy male volunteers, the authors calculated the compression at C7–T1 as a function of the head–trunk Euler angles. Differences from other models varied from 25.5 to 368.1 N. These differences in forces may result in differences in model geometry, passive components, number of degrees of freedom, or objective functions.

OpenMP is one of the most popular parallel programming technique nowadays. Using openMP, programmers parallelized their serial programs by inserting directives. However, in addition to parallel algorithm related overhead which depends on how to design the parallel program, performing openMP also leads to overhead. In this paper, we give a model to evaluate the overhead, and design 5 groups of experiment to evaluate the overhead caused by starting openMP, scheduling and synchronizations. We also analyze the changes of the overhead with different scale of the problems and the number of parallel threads.

Summary Background: By the end of the first quarter of 2017, 1212 standard Clinical Pathways (CPs) had been developed and implemented in China since 2009, however, Chinese standard CPs are still paper-based CPs. Objectives: To optimize the data structure and content of Chinese standard CPs based on Chinese health standards by two-level modeling approach and archetype method, and develop an Open Metadata Schema for Clinical Pathway (openCP) in China. Methods: We chose 43 diseases covering 7 departments of internal medicine as samples and source materials including Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, and Hematology, and we followed 4 steps to develop openCP: identify reference model of openCP; develop archetype models; standardize archetype terms and metadata; and evaluate its functionality. Results: We have built hierarchical reference model and archetypes of openCP, created and standardized archetype terms and metadata, and evaluate the functionality of openCP. The qualitative comments from 5 doctors were inspiring. Discussion and Conclusions: Medical staff may easily build localized CPs in openCP which can be integrated into EHR systems and shared among different hospitals and clinics.

Contexto: Debido a la gran cantidad de ciberataques a nivel internacional y nacional (Colombia), se han activado mecanismos y procedimientos preventivos en las organizaciones para contrarrestar estas vulnerabilidades en la seguridad de la información. El tema de este proyecto surge de la necesidad de hacer una propuesta a la oficina de seguridad de la información de la DIAN para implementar y dar seguimiento a la estrategia de Gobierno en línea de MinTIC en el componente de seguridad de la información y privacidad, ello a través de la política de seguridad de la información institucional y de este conocimiento aplicado al modelo base para auditorías en servicios web, aplicado a un prototipo particular. Método: La metodología general para el modelo base de conocimiento incluye dos partes del trabajo. La primera corresponde a la recolección, procesamiento y purificación de la base. La segunda corresponde al proceso de tematización del sistema del modelo propuesto. OpenKM (un software abierto) se implementó para sustentar la base de conocimiento. Para el desarrollo de la auditoría es importante tener en cuenta que dentro de la metodología general se incluyeron una serie de guías en cada una de las fases del modelo. El proyecto utiliza estándares, buenas prácticas, herramientas y asesoramiento profesional como ISO27000, OSSTMM, OWASP, JUnit y las guías de gestión de riesgos y auditoría emitidas por el MinTIC. Para el desarrollo del prototipo con el WS a exponer, se utilizó el método OPENUP. La implementación se limitó a la construcción de dos métodos HTTP, GET y POST para consultas y acciones de entrada de información. Resultados: Con este proyecto fue posible crear un modelo de base de conocimiento implementado en OpenKM, ejecutando una auditoría de seguridad de servicios web con inyección de SQL en un prototipo organizacional. Conclusiones: Se debe tener en cuenta que nunca habrá una infraestructura 100% segura, ya que siempre habrá riesgos en las plataformas debido a la naturaleza cambiante de los ataques. Sin embargo, siempre habrá alternativas como esta, un modelo base de auditoría de seguridad de la información para evitar o mitigar tales riesgos o ataques.

The World Health Organization (WHO) launched the first web-based learning course on COVID-19 on January 26, 2020, four days before the director general of the WHO declared a public health emergency of international concern. The WHO is expanding access to web-based learning for COVID-19 through its open-learning platform for health emergencies, OpenWHO. Throughout the pandemic, OpenWHO has continued to publish learning offerings based on the WHO’s emerging evidence-based knowledge for managing the COVID-19 pandemic. This study presents the various findings derived from the analysis of the performance of the OpenWHO platform during the pandemic, along with the core benefits of massive web-based learning formats.

The OpenMP standard is the primary mechanism used at high performance computing facilities to allow intra-process parallelization. In contrast, many HEP specific software packages (such as CMSSW, GaudiHive, and ROOT) make use of Intel’s Threading Building Blocks (TBB) library to accomplish the same goal. In these proceedings we will discuss our work to compare TBB and OpenMP when used for scheduling algorithms to be run by a HEP style data processing framework. This includes both scheduling of different interdependent algorithms to be run concurrently as well as scheduling concurrent work within one algorithm. As part of the discussion we present an overview of the OpenMP threading model. We also explain how we used OpenMP when creating a simplified HEP-like processing framework. Using that simplified framework, and a similar one written using TBB, we will present performance comparisons between TBB and different compiler versions of OpenMP.

Summary The implementation and performance of a hybrid OpenMP/ MPI parallel communication strategy for an unstructured mesh computational fluid dynamics code is described. The solver is cache efficient and fully vectorizable, and is parallelized using a two-level hybrid MPI-OpenMP implementation suitable for shared and/or distributed memory architectures, as well as clusters of shared memory machines. Parallelism is obtained through domain decomposition for both communication models. Single processor computational rates as well as scalability curves are given on various architectures. For the architectures studied in this work, the OpenMP or hybrid OpenMP/MPI communication strategies achieved no appreciable performance benefit over an exclusive MPI communication strategy.
