In 2017, we started a project with the goal of offering a new service to academic staff and PhD candidates at the NTNU University Library: courses and guidance in the use of NVivo, a software to alleviate the workload in structuring and analysing qualitative research data. Such software is useful for a plethora of subjects, like geography, anthropology, sociology, but also subjects like art history. Faculty members and PhD-candidates at NTNU have expressed enthusiasm when contacted about future courses in NVivo. Some employees have experience with NVivo, while others have tried to make their own tools and systems for analysis to fulfil their needs. Based on their feedback, experiences and valuable suggestions, we will offer the course in the fall 2018, either as a standalone library course or as a joint venture with one or more departments in the Humanities and Social Sciences faculties. Our article will focus on how we have identified a new skillset and how we developed a new course for our patrons in close cooperation with them. In our article we will walk you through our ongoing project. We are very interested in feedback and hope to spark a discussion on the creation of new services in the libraries.

In the scope of engineering research, most of the problems are quantitative, qualitative problems are not so dominant but have a big influence on the results obtained. This qualitative research is conducted on natural objects that develop as they are, are not manipulated by researchers and the presence of researchers does not really affect the dynamics of these objects. Not all young technical researchers understand this method of qualitative data analysis. To answer this, it is necessary to provide qualitative data analysis to young researchers through Nvivo training activities, with implementation stages in the form of training in the theory and application of Nvivo as well as practicing data analysis with NVIVO. This program is used to analyze unstructured or semi-structured data such as the results of interviews, surveys, field notes, web and journal articles. The target to be achieved is community empowerment services, scientific reports and articles (journals / proceedings). The method used is learning in class lectures, discussion and question and answer as well as practice / application simulation. The results obtained are partners understand how to use the NVivo application, out of 25 (twenty five) participants with a 'Very Good' score of 12%, a 'Good' score of 60% a 'Medium' score of 28% and a 'Not Appearing' value of 0%. The conclusion obtained is the increased capacity of partners in using the Nvivo application. Abstrak Dalam lingkup penelitian bidang teknik sebagian besar permasalahannya bersifat kuantitatif, permasalahan yang bersifat kualitatif tidak begitu dominan namun memberi pengaruh besar pada hasil yang diperoleh. Penelitian kualitatif ini dilakukan pada objek alamiah yang berkembang apa adanya, tidak dimanipulasi oleh peneliti dan kehadiran peneliti tidak begitu mempengaruhi dinamika pada obyek tersebut. Tidak semua peneliti muda bidang teknik memahami metode analisis data kualitatif ini. Untuk menjawab hal tersebut maka perlu diadakan pembekalan mengenai analisis data kualitatif kepada para peneliti muda melalui kegiatan pelatihan Nvivo, dengan tahapan pelaksanaan berupa pelatihan teori dan aplikasi Nvivo serta praktik analisis data dengan Nvivo. Program ini digunakan untuk menganalisis data tidak terstruktur atau semi terstruktur seperti hasil interview, survey, catatan lapangan, web dan artikel jurnal. Target yang ingin dicapai adalah jasa pemberdayaan masyarakat, laporan dan artikel ilmiah (jurnal/prosiding). Metode yang digunakan adalah pembelajaran di kelas ceramah, diskusi dan tanya jawab serta praktik/simulasi aplikasi. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah mitra memahami cara menggunakan aplikasi NVivo, dari 25 (dua puluh lima) orang peserta dengan nilai ‘Sangat Baik’ sebesar 12%, nilai ‘Baik’ sebesar 60% nilai ‘Sedang’ 28% dan nilai ‘Tidak Tampil’ sebesar 0%. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah meningkatnya kapasitas mitra dalam menggunakan aplikasi Nvivo.

NVivo is a methodological tool in analyzing qualitative data. The software belongs to the genre of Computer-assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software (CAQDAS). This qualitative case study aimed to explore the practices of NVivo adopters within the West Visayas State University (WVSU) System, Academic Year 2019-2020. A researcher-made and foreshadowed Focus Group Discussion (FGD), in-depth interview, and observation protocols were utilized to gather data from the participants. The conceptual analysis was done using NVivo 12 Plus, while the researcher did the analytic analysis. The study revealed that the WVSU NVivo adopters are generally tech-savvy and stationed in the research office. Their speed of using the software varies. The adopters vary in terms of using NVivo- some were fast learners, while others were slow. They regularly ask questions from the researcher-resource speaker, though the NVivo manual of operation was distributed to them. Seven (7) themes have emerged that may optimize NVivo’s functionalities in qualitative data analysis. These themes are requirements for improved coding practices, the need for enhanced visualization skills; the importance of the knowledge on the NVivo research cycle; qualities of NVivo adopters; motivation in using NVivo; and practices for practical qualitative data analysis using NVivo. It is thus concluded that there is a need for WVSU administration to consider several mechanisms to improve the use of CAQDAS, specifically NVivo, in qualitative data analysis.

Saat ini kebanyakan peneliti menggunakan pendekatan tradisional dalam penulisan literature review. Hal ini memiliki kelemahan yaitu dari segi efektivitas dan efisiensi. Seorang peneliti harus mengumpulkan banyak jurnal ilmiah dan memahami isinya sebelum menulisnya. Hal ini tentunya kurang efektif karena akan memakan banyak waktu. Melihat permasalahan tersebut, Nvivo dipandang sebagai solusi untuk mengatasi hal demikian. Program PKM ini bertujuan untuk memudahkan peserta dalam penyusunan literature review. Kegiatannya dirancang sedemikian rupa sehingga peserta akan mudah memahami langkah-langkah penyusunan literature review dengan Nvivo. Dilaksanakannya PKM ini menjadikan peserta memahami bagaimana cara import dokumen berupa artikel dari Mendeley atau Endnote ke dalam Nvivo, melakukan coding, menganalisis, dan menampilkan hasil analisis artikel Nvivo, dan kemudian menuliskannya dalam sebuah literature review yang sistematis. Nvivo memungkinkan peserta untuk mengeksplorasi sejumlah besar dokumen tekstual untuk melihat pola dan instrumen penelitian yang digunakan.

This paper demonstrates the potential usefulness of the NVivo7 software for developing grounded theory through semantic analysis and for making grounded theory more accessible to students and researchers. Use of qualitative data analysis software early in the research process can impact research design, including the creation of interview protocols and survey instruments. It can also be useful later in the process for content and discourse analyses. Background The author conducted a review on how power and hierarchy affect staff safety in maternity services, using a narrative synthesis of staff voices from relevant literature. The review was coded using NVivo software. This article aims to evaluate NVivo as a tool for thematic narrative synthesis. Methods Selected papers were coded inductively using NVivo software, a subjective idealist approach to knowledge where iteration is achieved at the coding and synthesis stages of the process. Results NVivo proved to be a versatile tool; the imported files could be word or pdf, the import tab made it possible to upload images and audio files and information could be transferred from OneNote, Outlook and bibliographic software such as Endnote and RefWorks. NVivo software provided numerous options to explore data within different tabs. Users could create relationships between files and there were opportunities to display the findings in word clouds, hierarchies and clusters. Conclusions NVivo was a user-friendly tool for a novice user, facilitating coding for thematic narrative synthesis. A discussion of the review findings were explored in a previous article.

This research is a development of previous research. The difference between this study and previous research is that the companies studied are cross-sectoral companies, so the results of this study cannot be generalized. This research takes only one line of business, namely banking services. Data collection uses the help of the nVivo application to find out the answers to each research question by connecting the nVivo application with the website of each company. The tabulated data generated by nVivo were then exported and then analyzed using SEM. The results of this study indicate that all hypotheses are accepted. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini merupakan pengembangan dari penlitian sebelumnya. Perbedaan penelitian ini dengan penelitian sebelumnya adalah perusahaan yang diteliti adalah perusahaan lintas sektoral sehingga hasil penelitiannya tidak dapat digeneralisasi. Penelitian ini mengambil satu bidang usaha saja yaitu jasa perbankan. Pengumpulan data menggunakan bantuan aplikasi nVivo untuk mengetahui jawaban dari setiap pertanyaan penelitian dengan cara menghubungkan aplikasi nVivo dengan website masing-masing perusahaan. Tabulasi data yang dihasilkan nVivo selanjutnya di-export kemudian dianalisis dengan SEM. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa seluruh hipotesis diterima.

Este artigo descreve a utilização do software NVivo em pesquisa qualitativa. São abordados os conceitos envolvendo os softwares de apoio à análise de dados em pesquisa qualitativa em geral e as principais características do NVivo em particular. Para apresentar e exemplificar as funcionalidades do NVivo, foi escolhida uma pesquisa realizada com cento e cinqüenta professores que participaram de um curso sobre tecnologias digitais interativas, ministrado no formato EAD. A coleta dos dados desta pesquisa exemplo foi realizada de forma on-line, com a aplicação de quatro questionários que foram preenchidos pelos professores durante as quatro semanas do curso, totalizando quinhentos e oitenta questionários respondidos, porque nem todos os professores participaram de todas as sessões. A partir da descrição desta pesquisa são apresentadas as funcionalidades básicas do NVivo envolvendo três etapas do processo apoiado pela ferramenta: a preparação dos dados, a codificação e análise das respostas aos questionários e a elaboração do relatório para apresentação dos resultados. Na descrição de cada uma destas etapas são apresentados fragmentos dos dados analisados na pesquisa exemplo.

Terdapat dua pendekatan penelitian yaitu kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Penelitian kuantitatif banyak dipilih pada penelitian sosial karena mudah untuk mendapatkan data, sedangkan penelitian kualitatif jarang dipergunakan karena belum banyak peneliti yang memahami keunggulannya. Penggunaan software kualitatif tidak familiar bagi peneliti karena terdapat beberapa alasan yang melatarbelakangi, sehingga diperlukan adanya pelatihan dalam mempergunakan software penelitian kualitatif salah satunya adalah Nvivo. Pelatihan software Nvivo dilakukan dan ditujukan pada mahasiswa Pascasarjana Universitas Negeri Semarang. Pelatihan dilakukan secara daring dengan memberikan penjelasan terkait dengan dasar-dasar pendekatan kualitatif beserta keabsahan data dan pengolahan data dengan menggunakan software. Peserta diberikan langkah-langkah interpretasi data dengan mempergunakan software Nvivo. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa Mahasiswa memiliki ketertarikan dan kemampuan dalam mempergunakan software kualitatif yang dapat dipergunakan untuk menunjang kegiatan penelitian untuk menyelesaikan tugas akhir. Keberhasilan pelatihan diukur dari feedback yang diperoleh setelah melakukan pelatihan penguatan penelitian kualitatif dengan mempergunakan software Nvivo. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa puas dan memiliki peningkatan keterampilan yang sesuai dengan tujuan pelatihan.

Celem artykułu jest wskazanie możliwości oraz ograniczeń programów typu CAQDAS (Computer-Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis Software) w zakresie realizacji badań jakościowych. Nasze rozważania opieramy na osobistych doświadczeniach zdobytych podczas realizacji badań prowadzonych zgodnie z zasadami metodologii teorii ugruntowanej (MTU) i z wykorzystaniem programu NVivo w wersji 8. W artykule rozważamy problem wpływu nowoczesnego oprogramowania CAQDAS reprezentowanego przez program NVivo 8 na sposób organizowania i realizacji badań jakościowych, prowadzonych zgodnie z procedurami TU. Prezentujemy także najważniejsze – naszym zdaniem – funkcje dostępne w programie NVivo 8 i wskazujemy ich aplikacyjny charakter w badaniach opartych na metodologii teorii ugruntowanej.

Artykuł poświęcony jest wykorzystaniu oprogramowania NVivo w analizie danych jakościowych. Główny wątek opracowania odnosi się do problemu redukcji danych jako procesu towarzyszącego analizie jakościowej. Wykorzystanie oprogramowania nie musi oznaczać niekontrolowanego procesu zmiany postaci danych i tym samym utraty istotnych wymiarów doświadczeń zgromadzonych w materiale badawczym. Najnowsze narzędzia z rodziny CAQDAS (np. NVivo 8, 9) pozwalają zminimalizować ów problem poprzez umożliwienie pracy na materiałach źródłowych w formie niezmodyfikowanej. Artykuł przedstawia przykłady analizy danych w postaci tekstów, obrazów, nagrań audiowizualnych. Dodatkowo przedstawione zostały wybrane narzędzia wspomagające proces kodowania.

Purpose: This study aims to identify and map the research related to the current development of Halal Tourism Management research. Method: The method used is qualitative by using literature studies from various published articles indexed by Scopus for the period 1997-2022 which were collected on May 11, 2022. The data were processed with Microsoft Excel 16 and analyzed using Nvivo 12 Plus software to perform coding and classification automatically. Results: The results show that there is a fluctuating improvement in halal tourism management during the 25-year observation period. There are 3 interesting things in the discussion of halal tourism management. First, halal is a basic reference in the development of tourism objects and halal tourism management. Second, tourists as a challenge in the halal tourism management system. Third, is the development of sustainable halal tourism industry. Contribution: This research formulates a strategy for the development of halal tourism management. This strategy focuses on halal tourism objects, marketing, and institutions. This research can be used as an additional study related to the Halal Tourism sector and has the potential to be developed.

In 2018, according to data from the CDC in America, it is estimated that 1 in 59 children prevalence (incidence rate) of children have Autism Spectrum Disorder, compared to 2014, which is 1 in 68 children increased by 15%. The average boy often experiences unique symptoms, the problem is on the spectrum of neural development and can affect all sorts of aspects of learning, although many researchers focus on aspects of related issues but are measured to lack emphasis. So it is done on the learning of problems associated with religious education, read the Qur'an lovingly and also pray (?al??). Non-Arab speakers with autism, this study aims to characterize the natural characteristics displayed by a special student (autistic) in reading the Quran. To provide the same opportunity in carrying out their religious obligations, an 8-year-old boy from Malay with autism is already high, for a month with a session conducted three times the program was chosen as the subject. At least during the six months of Al-Quran lessons and he was able to communicate orally in class. NVivo software is useful for this analysis and it was found that every experimental session was recorded by audio by a digital camera and a digital camera visual voice recorder. the first chapter test includes reading the Quran (al-Fatihah) using five different types: (a) Malay Translation, (b and c) the complete set of chapters in Uthmani and Rasm Qiyasi races respectively, and ( d and e) sets of disorganized and incomplete chapters in Uthmani rasm. Research Autistic individuals for the selection of appropriate recommended reading materials. Teachers and parents for effectiveness in studying the Quran need to be considered, This identifies the features that have been shown during the lessons of the Quran.

Este ensaio teórico demonstra as vantagens na utilização do software NVivo® para análise qualitativa de texto, som, foto e vídeo nos estudos organizacionais. O referido software ainda é pouco utilizado no Brasil, sobretudo nos estudos organizacionais. A utilização de softwares em pesquisas quantitativas não é novidade; entretanto, nos estudos organizacionais brasileiros nos quais, tradicionalmente, os pesquisadores adotam abordagem qualitativa dos dados, o uso tem sido limitado. Observa-se a necessidade de superação das fragilidades analíticas, em especial aquelas que derivam de um processo manual de organização e análise de dados qualitativos. Nessa lógica, as estruturas e os recursos básicos do NVivo® são aqui trabalhados, identificando-se as vantagens da sua utilização. Conclui-se que o NVivo® auxilia o pesquisador em todo o processo da pesquisa, principalmente nas análises, potencializando e intensificando alcance e profundidade, permitindo maior exploração da complexidade dos dados. Sua utilização visa agilizar e qualificar o material de análise, facilitando o processo analítico em pesquisas qualitativas nos estudos organizacionais.

Artykuł ma wskazać, w jaki sposób można wykorzystać funkcje dostępne w obu programach do prowadzenia analizy opartej na MTU. W artykule pokazano zarówno techniczne, jak i aplikacyjne możliwości oprogramowania NVivo i Atlas.ti. Wskazano także na stopień zgodności rozwiązań technicznych stosowanych w obu programach do wymogów metodologii teorii ugruntowanej oraz na pewne ograniczenia i bariery, które napotkać może badacz wykorzystujących dany program komputerowy w badaniach opartych na MTU.

Abstract: Introduction/Main Objectives: This study aims to determine the development of research related to the practice of zakat a program for restoring the economy, where zakat is one of the Islamic financial instruments that can break the chain of poverty and build prosperity. Background Problems: The global economic crisis due to COVID-19 has caused concern for the world. Not only that, Covid-19 caused an increased number of mustahik because people have lost their jobs. Novelty: The zakat program can be used solution in post-pandemic economic recovery while maintaining environmental balance Research Methods: The method used qualitative using secondary data in the form of articles published in Dimensions period 1970-2022, then analyzed using Nvivo 12 Plus software. Finding/Results: The findings of this study indicate an increasing trend of research related to zakat as one of the financing instruments in Islamic economics. Of the 500 published articles, most stated the potential of zakat in the economy, both in economic growth, community welfare, and others. Conclusion: This research expects to help expand academic studies related to zakat and economic recovery to achieve sustainable development goals. A utilização de software programs nas análises de pesquisas de cunho qualitativo tem sido cada vez mais recorrente, incitando a produção de programas com recursos variados. Este artigo discorre sobre o uso do software NVivo, versão 12 Pró como ferramenta auxiliar no processo de organização e sistematização das informações durante o percurso metodológico da Análise Textual Discursiva, proposta por Moraes e Galiazzi. A experiência com o NVivo, em pesquisa de doutorado em andamento, indica que os seus recursos coadunam aos preceitos epistemológicos e metodológicos da Análise Textual Discursiva e contribuem, efetivamente, em todas as etapas do processo de análise. Dentre as vantagens está a possibilidade de importação de arquivos de diversas fontes, de ir e vir ao corpus de forma rápida e precisa, de fazer anotações e links e a criação de mapas e nuvens de palavras. Dentre as desvantagens está o custo para a aquisição do software e a escassa produção de materiais e tutoriais sobre a utilização do software. Despite the progress over the years, there are still many challenges to achieving basic human rights, namely “gender equality”. The language of “gender equality” was mobilized by feminists as a way to incorporate women's rights into the international development agenda. Using bibliometric analysis of scientific journal articles taken from the Scopus database, which totaled 504 journal articles, this study aims to document evidence of research activities in 2012-2021 in the Scopus database, and visualize it using VOSviewer and NVivo 12 plus software. The article reports on the publication and its citation structure, key trends, and its growing push toward co-authoring. This study also visualizes the most prominent topics and authors in the form of a network, using VOSviewer's bibliometric analysis and mapping of themes and their correlations using NVivo 12 plus. The novelty of this research is the composition of limitations in the Scopus database, as well as data processing using VOSviewer and NVivo 12 plus software. Further research, it is necessary to enrich the composition of limitations in the Scopus database, and compare it with the Web of Science database.

Qzone weblog is one of the most popular weblogs in China. This study explores Qzone weblog for critical peer feedback to facilitate Business English writing among the Chinese undergraduates. A qualitative case study is conducted by NVivo 8 to analyze the three research data of semistructured interviews, Business English writing assignments, and critical peer feedback artifacts. Three research questions are focused on the case participants’ perception of this study, the strength and weakness of Qzone for critical peer feedback, and online features of Qzone affecting critical peer feedback in Business English writing. The findings indicate that Qzone weblog is a convenient information communication technology platform for online critical peer feedback among the Chinese undergraduates. The six aspects of strength and five online features are coded by NVivo 8, which are models by NVivo 8 with figures. The weakness of Qzone is the character number limitation for blogging and feedback. The conclusion of this study will be applied for the use of Qzone weblog and other kinds of weblog for online peer feedback in English writing.

One aspect that must be owned by a leader is integrity. Considering that currently, the Islamic-based education system is very popular in Indonesia, the purpose of this study is to identify the Tahfidzul Qur'an Education System (T-QES) in creating leaders with integrity. The quasi-qualitative research was conducted in two Islamic boarding schools in Bandung. The participants used is 20 participants consisting of 2 principals, 6 deputy principals, 7 mudaris (teachers), 1 expert and 4 santri (students in Islamic boarding schools) during the 2019–2021 school year. The instrument used is an open interview instrument. Meanwhile, data analysis was carried out with percentages and mapped with the help of the NVivo 12 software. The results show that the T-QES plays an important role in creating leaders with integrity. Thus, the T-QES can be one of the recommendations that can be used in an education system.
