Annotation:
This thesis is concerned with the topic of Pumps with crew centrifugal impeller. Thanks to the benefits such as free passage and efficiency there are many practical applications of these products. Despite this fact there is only few manufacturers dealing with them what results in lack of research and available information in the area. In order to fill the gap, this thesis aims to propose hydraulic of screw centrifugal impeller to the specified parameters. The impeller with a single moving blade will be designed for pumping heavily polluted water and hardly pumpable liquids. Blade will be balanced together with the rotor, while the emphasis will be placed on the highest free passage of impeller. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes literature on the subject, practical part deals with the calculations and adjustments pointing to a concrete proposal. Parameters of designed hydraulics were verified using stationary calculations using MRF model in FLUENT. As a results, two possible solutions are offered.

The problem is solved for a Tesco hypermarket. The device is designed to meet the health, performance and functional requirements for indoor climate. This thesis deals with a new approach to the design of impeller, blade and spiral of centrifugal pump. The mathematic model of flow inside meridional section of impeller and spiral is based on the instruments of differential geometry applied to Bezier surfaces. This formerly introduced theory is more deeply developed in this thesis and the conclusions are applied to the design of centrifugal pump parts working with fluid. The main thesis output is the mathematic model and on its principles created software determined for the design of impeller, blade and spiral. The received results are exportable into one of the commonly used 3D modeling programs.

The main objective of the thesis is to verify the hydraulic inducer designs and to determine its effect on the cavitation characteristics of the pump. To increase the suction capability and cavitation resistance, the inducer is placed in front of the impeller centrifugal pump. Its role is to protect the impeller against the cavitation. The literary part of the thesis analyzes the issue of cavitation, its origin, development and termination of the cavitation bubble with so-called implosion. Special attention is devoted to describtion of cavitation effect occuring at the hydrodynamic pumps. In the theoretical part, the author is then dealing with the general principles and so far used approaches to the inducer design. The practical part of the thesis describes the process and the derivation of own designs of cylindrical inducer. The aim of the used, unconventional approaches to the inducer design is to achieve a constant pressure field and specific energy of the inducer design output. Partial variants of inducer blades design geometry are tested by the controlled calculation with CFD.

The master’s thesis contains design for heat insulation of a family house for purpose of reducing the heat loss, adding a new room and complete design of heating system. First part is introducing the house, followed by calculating the heat loss for the original building. Next step proposes the heat insulation of constructions, design for the new room and recalculating the modified heat loss including comparison with the original values. Another part is dealing with the design of the heating system, providing calculations of the power requirement and the pressure loss of underfloor heating and panel radiators. After that there was the selection of the heat pump, bivalent heat source, choice of storage tank and solution for domestic water heating. In the last part the security components were checked, drawing documentation were created and attached and the calculation of return on investment was made.

This diploma thesis provides basic information about the thermal pumps and photovoltaic systems. The heat pumps are described regarding their construction and sources of low potential heat. The description of photovoltaic systems explains the main principle of transformation the solar light to electric power and possible cooperation of this systems with the heat pumps. In practical part of the thesis there is a description of the assessed building and calculation of its thermal losses. It is followed by three designs of the thermal pump systems which are supposed to replace the original way of heating - the electric boiler. One of the designs is supported by photovoltaic system. The final part of the thesis provides the calculation of required heat sources for house and water heating, the operation expanses of all three heat pump designs, prices of electric energy and economical reliability of described solutions.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to design and create a prototype of automatic pipetting head that will be useful for pipetting in laboratories after attaching it to a robotic manipulator. In the beginning, a research about various types of automatic pipetting heads was made followed by a device design and component analysis. The prototype was made using 3D printing method and it utilises a peristaltic pump, Arduino microcontroller and Bluetooth interface. A measurement of repeatability and dispensing accuracy was made on the finished device. The results are evaluated in the conclusion.

The aim of this masters thesis is hydraulic design of inducer for given pump geometry and operating parameters. The first part of this thesis deals with cavitation problematic in hydrodynamic pumps. This master’s thesis deals with a new design of an oil pump for Tatra T158 transfer case. The new solution should replace earlier involute internal gear pump which is not able to provide sufficent lubrication. The main problem of the old design is a poor suction at low speeds of the vehicle. Gerotor type of the pump has been chosen. Its main advantages are a convenient specific flow rate and good volumetric efficency. In an analytic calculation of the pump gearing also important functional parameters have been checked, like a pressure angle, flow rate, flow irregularity, specific flow rate, specific slipping. A design with and without axial clearance compensation is introduced. Measurements on a test rig confirmed good suction ability even in low revs. Generated flow rate and pressure are improved. That is a good prerequisite for faster assembly of transfer case with no testing of each oil pump. The tests have not revealed any unexpected wear of parts of the pump so far. It is supposed an application of the new gerotor design in a serial production of T158 truck and other types in the future.

This diploma thesis deals with design of chiller for specific aplication – The City Theatre in Brno. The solving equipment of cooling appliance includes complete design of heat exchanger, battery cold and dimensioning of pipeline system used for various media. One part of design is also choice of individual coolant pumps, which guarantee necessary cirkulation of cooling medium in a certain pipeline routes. Selected battery cold in this administration reduced the size of the necessary cooling resources, therefore the cost of implementation. Everything is processed in calculating software. The resulting proposal is also drafted in the design program and will serve as one of the bases for subsequent implementation.

The wastewater treatment process is one of the most important processes which contributes to the protection of the environment. This process can also potentially recover necessary and scarce raw materials, such as phosphorus. Research of the wastewater treatment technology is an increasingly relevant topic and more innovative knowledge should be gradually implemented into existing plants. However, the implementation of such technology involves increased investment and often operating costs. This is, why there is a growing interest in improving the energy intensity and hydraulic efficiency of the installed wastewater plant machinery. The optimization of operating parameters in such machinery can also bring significant savings, which can be potentially re-invested into other technologies. This work deals with the issue of proper evaluation of installed machinery for the selection of operating parameters and assessment of their significance. As the challenge, wastewater treatment technology is very sensitive towards the combination of technological equipment and incorrect operational parameters can lead to erroneous evaluation of the efficiency of individual equipment or inappropriate engineering proposals. To eliminate these risks, an analytical procedure for the selection and evaluation of parameters is proposed in this work. This procedure is demonstrated on six types of equipment. To verify the conclusions of the proposed procedure, a model design of the equipment was performed, in which the influence of individual parameters was concisely assessed. By using the data, the proposed procedure could be validated more specifically. In this work, the necessary data for the design was obtained by experimental research and extensive testing. The results confirm the practical applicability of the proposed procedure.

My diploma thesis describes a procedure of creating interactive computer software for company ISH&MSA Čerpadla a.s. in its theoretical part as well as in its practical part. It is a proposal diagram of centrifugal pumps which consists of made and nonmade pumps. After the selection of a certain pump, according to the required parameters of capacity of pump and transit height, the output of the programme is drawing of a flows characteristic, characteristics of coiled paddlewheel and curves of dissipation without any differences in whether the pump is made or not. There is an operating procedure from the initial work with data, short demonstrations from source code, computation of nonmeasured pump to the ascending flows characteristics in practical part of my diploma thesis. In theoretical part, there are explained principles that are needed for comprehension of a pump reform which are used in practical part.

The proposed work is dealing with control design of pump-tank system as part of broader water-supply network with using of mechatronic approach. The main goal of this work is design of control for regulation of flow, pressure and water level in tank in water-supply network of Vsetin city. This water-supply network consists of various components, such as pumps, pipes, valves, tanks etc. For the purpose of the control design is necessary to create a model of pipe network. The solution of hydraulic analysis is obtained by using the gradient method, which was implemented into the software solution named ADAM. The results of hydraulic analysis are compared with measured values of flow and pressure and difference of these values has to be minimalized by proposed calibration and verification process. The calibration and verification process was implemented in software ADAM. The essence of design control is formulating control problem as optimization problem. Therefore the output of higher control layer is set of procedural rules, which determines for example speed of pumps in time etc. Results were verified by using for this purpose developed computational server (ADAM Server).

In the first part, I am reviewing the characteristics of disperse systems, pumps and pipelines used in hydro-mixture transportation. Slurry pumps and polyethylene HDPE pipelines receive an extra attention. In the second part, I am working with data obtained from the co-operation with the PROGROUPE Sediment Removal company. These data were measured during revitalization of the water dam Gabčíkovo. In the next step, I use the data to suggest the required characteristic for the slurry pump for pump station in project of revitalizing Borovoe lake, situated in Kazakhstan.

This master’s thesis pertains to heating practices of low-energy houses using a heat pump (example 1) and low-temperature condensing boiler (example 2). The first part of the work contains calculations of suggested building’s heat efficiency and of under-floor heating. The second part of the work includes estimates of seasonal heating factors for construction with a heat pump. Based on the comparison: both of these heating systems are recommended; the capacity of the warm water container is established; and safety elements are chosen. Furthermore, a system of regulation for warm water heating is determined, and a curve of equithermal regulation for heating is calculated. Both of the recommended heating possibilities include calculations of costs of supplies and manufacturing, as well as blueprints for construction.

The aim of this thesis is to design the heating system for the house, including the design and calculating the required quantity of heat for hot water. The specified heat sources are the heat pump air to water and solid fuel boiler. The task was to design the heating system to the fastest possible return on investment. The initial investment in a heat pump is high so it is necessary to design the heating system as efficiently as possible. The thesis contains a complete project of calculating heat loss of the building, the design of heating surfaces and their heat-technical calculation. There is included the design of the pipe system, the calculation of pressure loss and its regulation. The thesis also includes design of safety equipment, temperature regulation and drawings. On the basis of calculated data was processed economic assessment, which determines the return on investment to the heat pump. Compared to the gas condensing boiler the return on investment will ideally be after five years.

The aim of the master’s thesis was to design ventilation and cooling systems in a three-storey mixed-use building, which contained three apartments and two dentists’ surgeries. Two independent ventilation systems were designed in the building, with respect to different purposes of the indoor spaces. The mechanical cooling system was proposed in some of the rooms to improve thermal comfort in summer. The above analysis is demonstrated in a model case study.
