Annotation:

In the late seventeenth century Mughal India, Guru Gobind Singh and his Sikh army became politically and militarily opposed to the policies of Emperor Aurangzeb in the Punjab country. The Sikhs were not unique in this regard as across Aurangzeb’s Empire credible insurgencies began undermining Mughal authority. While an earlier historiography of this era reasoned that such revolts were caused by Aurangzeb’s abandonment of secularism for Islamic fundamentalism, contemporary research has provided a more nuanced analysis by exploring the history and ideas of the rebels. In this article, I explore how the Sikh community engaged in a dialogue on Kshatriyahood which was both specific to the Punjab country and similar to dialogues found across Mughal India. In addition, my article explores the social history of caste in medieval and early modern Punjab and the contested identities of Kshatriyahood and Brahminhood.

Abstrak Rasio Prestasi Manajemen (RPM) dijabarkan sebagai hasil bagi antara debit yang diberikan dengan debit yang dibutuhkan di setiap lahan pertanian. Sistem subak di Bali didasari konsep sosio-teknis-religius dan ekonomis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung nilai RPM dan sebarannya serta mengetahui strategi distribusi air irigasi agar kinerja irigasi menjadi “cukup” hingga “baik” di Subak Gede Kedewatan Wilayah Kabupaten Gianyar. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis kuantitatif melalui survey dan pengukuran langsung di lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase sebaran RPM kriteria “baik” sebanyak 5 subak (18,52%), “cukup” 4 subak (14,81%), “kurang” 9 subak (33,33%), dan “sangat kurang” 9 subak (33,33%). Nilai RPM subak di daerah hulu seluruhnya berada pada kriteria “sangat kurang” dengan nilai RPM 1, 85. Subak di daerah tengah seliruhnya berada dikriteria “kurang” dengan nilai RPM 1,45. Di hilir, subak yang berada di daerah ini memiliki kriteria yang “cukup” dan “baik” dengan sebaran nilai RPM 0,64 – 1,05. Subak yang mendapatkan air berlebih, kemudian sisa air irigasinya disalurkan menuju ke pangkung, yang akan menjadi sumber air utama untuk subak-subak natak tiyis (sadap tiris). Abstract The Management Performance Ratio (MPR) is a comparison between the water flowrate given and the water flowrate requirement for each agricultural land. The subak system in Bali is based on socio-technical-religious and economic concepts. This study aims to calculate the MPR value and its distribution as well as find out the irrigation water distribution strategy so that irrigation performance becomes "adequate" to "good" in Subak Gede Kedewatan, Gianyar Regency. This research was carried out using a quantitative analysis approach through surveys and direct measurements in the field. The result showed that percentage distribution of MPR criteria for "good" was 5 subaks (18.52%), "adequate" 4 subaks (14.81%), "poor" 9 subaks (33.33%), and "very poor" 9 subaks (33 ,33%). The MPR value of subak in the upstream area is entirely in the "very poor" criterion with an MPR value of 1.85. Followed by subak in the central region, all of them are in the "low" criterion with an MPR value of 1.45. In contrast to the downstream, the subaks in this area have the criteria of "adequate" and "good" with a distribution of RPM values ??of 0.64 - 1.05. Subaks that get excess water, then the rest of the irrigation water is channeled to the pangkung, which will be the main water source for subak natak tiyis (tapping taps).

Annotation:

The essay examines a Bengali adaptation of Macbeth, namely Rudrapal Natak (published 1874) by Haralal Ray, juxtaposing it with differently accented commentaries on the play arising from the English-educated elites of 19th Bengal, and relating the play to the complex phenomenon of Hindu nationalism. This play remarkably translocates the mythos and ethos of Shakespeare’s original onto a Hindu field of signifiers, reformulating Shakespeare’s Witches as bhairavis (female hermits of a Tantric cult) who indulge unchallenged in ghastly rituals. It also tries to associate the gratuitous violence of the play with the fanciful yearning for a martial ideal of nation-building that formed a strand of the Hindu revivalist imaginary. If the depiction of the Witch-figures in Rudrapal undercuts the evocation of a monolithic and urbane Hindu sensibility that would be consistent with colonial modernity, the celebration of their violence may be read as an effort to emphasize the inclusivity (as well as autonomy) of the Hindu tradition and to defy the homogenizing expectations of Western enlightenment

प्रस्तुत लेख आधुनिक नेपाली नाटक परम्पराका विशिष्ट प्रतिभा वासु शशी (१९९३ — २०४९) सँग सम्बन्धित छ । विधागत लेखनका दृष्टिले शशी मूलतः कविता र नाट्य विधामा बढी सक्रिय देखा पर्दछन् । वासु शशी २००७÷२००८ सालदेखि नेवारी नाट्यक्षेत्रमा प्रवेश गरे पनि २०२३ सालपछि नेपाली नाट्यविधातर्फ आकर्षित भएको प्रमाण तीन नाटक (नाटक सङ्ग्रह २०२४) बाट पाइन्छ । बाँसुरीमा नअटाएका धुनहरू (२०४२), उपहार (२०५१), वासु शशीका नाटक (२०५९) र बुद्ध (२०६६) शशीका प्रकाशित मौलिक नेपाली नाटक हुन् । वासु शशीका नाटक (२०५९) नामक नाटक सङ्ग्रहमा माया, ॐ नमः शिवाय, सुखको खोजीमा, बिर्सन नसकिने मान्छे, सच्याउन नसकिने गल्ती, आमा कहिल्यै मर्दिन, उपहार र तरबार नाटक सङ्कलित छन् । शशीका पूर्वाद्र्ध चरणका नाटकहरूले मूलतः व्यक्तिविशेषका जीवनीसँग सम्बन्धित व्यक्तिगत एवम् पारिवारिक घटनालाई प्रस्तुत गरेका छन् भने उत्तराद्र्धका नाटकहरूमा सामाजिक समस्याले प्रधानता पाएका छन् । प्रस्तुत अध्ययन वासु शशीको नाट्यकारिता शीर्षकमा तयार गरिएको छ । यस लेखमा वासु शशीको नाट्यकारिता केकस्तो छ भन्ने समस्यालाई लिइएको छ । यसअनुसार ती समस्याको समाधान गर्नुलाई यस लेखको उद्देश्य बनाइएको छ । यसका लागि प्राथमिक स्रोतअन्तर्गत शशीका नाटकहरूलाई गुणात्मक सोद्देश्य नमुना छनोट विधिमा लिई विश्लेषणका लागि सूक्ष्म पठन र समालोचनात्मक विधिको प्रयोग गरिएको छ । अन्तमा शशीलाई रिमाल र मल्लद्वयका समस्यामूलकता, मनोविज्ञान, यथार्थवाद िप्रवृत्ति र संवादकलाबाट प्रभावित भएर पनि चलचित्रोन्मुख नाट्यकारिता उनको मौलिकता भएको निष्कर्ष निकालिएको छ । (This article is related to Vasu Shashi (1993-2049), a unique talent of modern Nepali drama tradition. From the point of view of genre writing, Shashi appears to be more active in poetry and drama. Although Vasu Shashi entered the Newari theater scene from 2007-2008, the proof that he was attracted to Nepali theater after 2023 is found in 'Three Dramas' (a collection of Drama- 2024). The original Nepali plays published by Shashi are ' Bansurima Naataeka Dhunharu' (2042), Uphaar (2051), 'Vasu Shashika Natak' (2059) and 'Buddha' (2066). 'Vasu Shashika Natak' (2059) is a collection of dramas such as Maya, Om Namah Shivaay, Sukhako Khojima, Birsana Nasakine Manchhe, Sachyauna Nasakine Galti, Aama Kahilyai Mardina, Upahar, and Tarabar. The earlier dramas by Shashi basically presented personal and family events related to the biography of a particular person, while in the later dramas, social problems were given priority. The present study has been prepared under the title Dramatization in the Works by Vasu Sashi. In this article, the issue of Vasu Sashi's dramatization has been taken up. Accordingly, the purpose of this article is to solve those issues. For this, under the primary source, Sashi's dramas have been taken using qualitative purposeful sample selection method; and critical reading and analytical methods have been used for analysis. In the end, even though Shashi was influenced by Rimal's and Malla's problematism, psychology, realism tendency and dialogue skills; it has been concluded that his originality is film-oriented dramatization.)

Investigating the extent of local scale heterogeneity in assemblages is necessary to achieve a sound understanding of the processes giving rise to local assemblage patterns and the variation between them. Moreover, a clear understanding of local scale heterogeneity of assemblages is imperative in the development of effective regional conservation strategies. Previous studies examined the local scale heterogeneity in dung beetle assemblages between mixed woodland and sand forest habitats in Tembe Elephant Park, KwaZulu-Natal. Sand forest is an endangered habitat type in southern Africa which, when disturbed, opens up and changes towards mixed woodland. Reversion to the original sand forest structure after disturbance has never been recorded. Dung beetle assemblages were found to be homogenous within, but significantly heterogenous between, habitat types. It was therefore suggested that disturbance of sand forest (elephant foraging inside, and human occupation outside the Park) was likely to affect the assemblage structure of dung beetles in sand forest. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effect of human- and elephant-induced disturbance on dung beetle assemblages in sand forest. Furthermore, disturbed sand forest dung beetle assemblages were predicted to be more similar to mixed woodland than to undisturbed sand forest assemblages. Disturbance by elephants causes sand forest vegetation structure to change to that of mixed woodland and this resulted in elephant-disturbed sand forest dung beetle assemblages becoming more similar to mixed woodland assemblages. Assemblages in human disturbed sand forest were unique and associated with human-related activities. The reliability and predictability of dung beetle indicator (species specific to a particular habitat type) and detector species (species indicative of the direction of habitat change) identified for Tembe in a previous study were tested. The results of this study largely supported the suite of bioindicator species first identified. Detector species were found to provide information complimentary to the indicator species and vegetation data available for sand forest. In addition, an identification key for the dung beetle species collected in Tembe Elephant Park to date was compiled. This key facilitates the use of dung beetle assemblages in indicator and monitoring systems in this reserve by providing a rapid and effective means of identifying the dung beetle species. The abundance-body size relationships of the dung beetle assemblages in mixed woodland, undisturbed and disturbed sand forests were also determined. Four hypotheses that account for the relationship between body size and abundance or its variants, were tested here, namely the energy equivalence rule, interspecific competition, differential extinction, and the biomass frequency distribution hypothesis. The disturbed sand forest assemblages were used to test whether disturbance alters the relationships between the macroecological variables (i.e. body size, abundance and biomass) and their interrelationships. This study provided some support for the biomass hypothesis. The major relationship between body size and abundance held despite human- and elephant-induced disturbance. Nonetheless, this study indicates that human- and elephant-induced disturbance alter sand forest dung beetle assemblages and may have significant implications for other taxa that occupy this endangered habitat type. Monitoring of the impacts of large herbivores on sand forest in reserves should thus be continued, and dung beetles provide one effective means by which this can be achieved.

A few of the compositions of the Dasam Granth represent devotional literature. The Jap Sahib and the Akal Ustat embody Guru Gobind Singh’s conception of God, His omnipotence and omnipresence, unity in diversity, prem bhagti, equality of human beings, and sectarian dispensations. The Shabads and Savvayyas dwell on true religious belief and practice. In the Var Durga ki, the Ram Avtar, and the Krishan Avtar, the deities Durga, Ram and Krishan are not supreme but instruments of the Supreme Being to strengthen the forces of good against evil. They are entitled to use physical force. In this context the Bachittar Natak declares and legitimizes the mission of Guru Gobind Singh to institute a panth for destroying the enemies of Guru Gobind Singh and his Sikhs. This panth was equated with the Khalsa, created eventually to establish Sikh Raj.

Chapter 4 focuses on two Bharatanatyam-trained stars in the 1950s and 1960s, Vyjayanthimala and Waheeda Rehman, analyzing changes in film dance alongside the canonization of specific classical and folk dance forms by the Sangeet Natak Akademi. By studying how dance training influences acting repertoires, this chapter calls attention to movement, gesture, and bodily comportment to enhance our understanding of virtuosity and technique, proposing a movement-based analysis of film acting grounded in kinesthetic performance and spectatorship. Rehman and Vyjayanthimala’s most ambitious production numbers speak to their own performative desires as trained dancers. Films featuring these A-list actresses as dancing protagonists evince a generic tendency, described here as the “melodrama of dance reform,” which combines the dance spectacular with the “social problem” film, producing in the process cinematic figurations riven with anxieties and aspirations around female sexuality, bodily movement, and economic independence.

Introdução: O pré-natal é o acompanhamento que toda gestante deve ter, com a finalidade de manter a integridade das condições de saúde da mãe e do bebê. O ideal seja que as gestantes comecem a fazer seu pré-natal assim que tiverem a gravidez confirmada ou antes de completarem três meses de gestação. Assim, durante o pré-natal, serão realizados alguns exames importantes para detectar problemas, como doenças que possam afetar o bebê ou o seu desenvolvimento no útero. Qualificar a assistência o pré natal das puérperas no Distrito Federal; Estabelecer de que forma o pré natal interfere na vida dessas gestantes; assegurar o desenvolvimento da gestação devido ao pré natal; identificar de que forma os cuidados assistenciais influenciam durante toda gestação e parto. Objetivo: Caracterizar a assistência ao Pré-Natal no Distrito- Federal – DF entre o período de 2018 a 2020; Caracterizar o perfil sócio demográfico das mulheres que realizaram o pré-natal no Distrito Federal no período de 2018 a 2020; Descrever o número de consultas no pré-natal no período de 2015 a 2018; Descrever o tipo de parto realizado no período de 2018 a 2020. Métodos: Foi realizada um estudo descritivo com caráter retrospectivo que buscou por meio da análise de dados pelo site DATASUS identificar os fatores citados e de que forma isso acarreta na realização da assistência ao pré natal. Resultado: Foram analisados no período de 2018 a 2020 tais categorias: perfil sócio demográfico das mulheres que realizaram o pré-natal no Distrito Federal; tipo de parto realizado; e número de consultas realizados no pré-natal. Conclusão: Conclui-se com a importância de um pré natal realizado de forma devida, e como os fatores externos influenciam na qualidade desse pré natal, buscando fazer com que esses fatores sejam tratados de forma individual para cada puérpera, para assim ter uma gestação tranquila.E nenhum dos fatores citados tem relevância extrema na assistência ao pré natal, mas que existem sim diferenças e pontos para serem melhorados, buscando uma melhor qualidade no pré-natal do Distrito Federal.

Introdução: A macrocefalia fetal é definida como o crescimento anormal do perímetro cefálico, com valores superiores a dois desvios padrão acima do percentil 95. Os últimos três meses de gestação e os dois primeiros anos de vida são o período de maior aumento do perímetro cefálico, e é nessa época que ocorre maior parte do desenvolvimento do sistema nervoso central. Alterações do perímetro cefálico nessa fase podem refletir apenas uma alteração benigna ou uma alteração do desenvolvimento neurológico. A maior parte dos casos de macrocefalia é diagnosticada apenas após o nascimento. Objetivo: O presente trabalho de revisão bibliográfica teve como objetivo mostrar as principais causas de macrocefalia, possibilitando o diagnóstico ainda durante o período fetal. Material e Métodos: Buscas por artigos relacionados ao tema foram realizadas nas seguintes plataformas: PubMed, Literatura Latino-americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) e Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO). Na busca, foram utilizados os seguintes termos: “macrocefalia”, “diagnóstico pré-natal”. Resultados: A macrocefalia pode ser isolada e benigna ou pode ser a primeira indicação de alguma anomalia, por isso é importante saber suas etiologias. Uma das causas é a hidrocefalia, que pode estar associada a alterações cromossômicas, malformações ou infecções congênitas. Estudos mostram a hidrocefalia como uma importante causa de macrocefalia. Uma outra causa é a megalencefalia, um termo que se refere ao aumento do perímetro cefálico em razão do aumento de componentes estruturais do cérebro. A megalencefalia pode estar acompanhada ou não de distúrbios neurológicos. Classicamente, é classificada como: benigna ou idiopática, anatômica e metabólica. A macrocefalia familiar benigna refere-se aos casos em que há aumento do perímetro cefálico sem alterações no desenvolvimento neurológico, sendo comum o relato de outros membros da família afetados. É uma herança autossômica dominante que acomete mais o sexo masculino. A macrocefalia sindrômica é diagnosticada quando outras anormalidades são associadas ao aumento generalizado do cérebro, criando um padrão reconhecível. Existem 216 síndromes associadas à macrocefalia, e grande parte dessas não são passíveis de serem diagnosticadas durante o pré-natal. No entanto, algumas podem ser suspeitadas e investigadas ainda durante o período fetal, como as síndromes de Sotos, de Simpson-Golabi-Behemel, de Beckwith-Weedemann e de Weaver, além da acondroplasia. Outros diagnósticos diferenciais que devem ser lembrados são os tumores, as hemorragias, os cistos aracnoides e a mielomeningocele. Conclusão: O diagnóstico da macrocefalia é possível durante o período fetal, embora os dados sobre o manejo pré-natal ainda sejam escassos. Existem também limitações na precisão das medidas do perímetro cefálico, faltam tabelas para populações diferentes e existem inconsistências nas curvas pré e pós-natais, que dificultam esse diagnóstico. A sua suspeita exige avaliação ultrassonográfica detalhada em busca da etiologia e do aconselhamento familiar.

Introdução: A assistência pré-natal (PN) é um dos pilares do cuidado à saúde materno-infantil, cuja relevância para a redução da morbimortalidade dessa população já se encontra estabelecida. A ausência ou inadequação da assistência durante o período PN pode trazer graves consequências para a saúde da mãe e do feto. Segundo a Organização Mundial da Saúde, calcula-se que, em 2015, 303 mil mulheres morreram de causas evitáveis inerentes à gravidez, 2,7 milhões de bebês morreram no período neonatal e 2,6 milhões de fetos eram natimortos. No Brasil, entre 1990 e 2015, houve queda na razão de mortalidade materna de 141 para 60 mortes a cada 100 mil vivos. Essa queda ocorreu em virtude de avanços significativos nas políticas de saúde, entre eles a implantação do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) e das políticas de saúde materno-fetal associadas a ele. Objetivo: Avaliar a assistência PN prestada a gestantes de baixo risco usuárias do SUS da cidade de Joinville. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo observacional transversal realizado de março de 2018 a fevereiro de 2019, mediante entrevista e análise do Cartão da Gestante de puérperas maiores de 18 anos, procedentes de Joinville, que realizaram o PN no SUS, sendo excluídas as puérperas desistentes. Avaliou-se a assistência PN por critérios preconizados pelo Programa de Humanização do Pré-Natal e Nascimento. Resultados e conclusão: Foram entrevistadas 683 puérperas. Os critérios com maiores índices de adequação foram acessibilidade (99,6%), início precoce do PN (92,7%) e realização de seis ou mais consultas (87,15). Os critérios que apresentaram as menores taxas de adequação foram o conjunto de orientações (17,7%) e os exames do terceiro e primeiro trimestre (42,5% e 63,5%, respectivamente). Conclui-se que a assistência PN realizada pelo SUS da cidade de Joinville, não obstante a acessibilidade praticamente universal, o início precoce e a prevalência de puérperas com mais de seis consultas, demonstrou declínio acentuado na análise dos indicadores preconizados.
