Shahin, Reza. „Incorporating Ad Hoc Stops in Public Transport : A Study on Flex-Route Transit“. Electronic Thesis or Diss., Université Gustave Eiffel, 2024. http://www.theses.fr/2024UEFL2004.
In recent years, there has been an ascending trend towards the adoption of flexible transit solutions like Demand Responsive Transit (DRT), primarily due to the enhanced convenience they offer to passengers. However, this flexibility comes with an associated economic burden. Consequently, transport authorities are presently exploring methods to augment the flexibility of Conventional Public Transport (CPT), which is more conservative compared to DRT. This gives rise to the significance of Flex-Route Transit (FRT), an innovative system amalgamating the benefits of both DRT and CPT. In the doctoral dissertation presented here, we conduct an exhaustive investigation of FRT frameworks. Specifically, we scrutinize pertinent academic literature, highlighting extant research lacunae. Then, we formulate a Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model extending the state of the art to include previously neglected problem features, and we supplement it by a set of valid inequalities to enhance its linear relaxation. We also introduce a heuristic algorithm to procure a feasible solution and employ a warm start technique to boost the MILP solution. Subsequently, a comprehensive full factorial experimental design sensitivity analysis is carried out. Here, we evaluate the system's saturation levels under various demand scenarios, focusing on the elongated wait times for passengers. In the final contribution chapter, a stochastic MILP model for the FRT is proposed, wherein certain initial parameters of the base MILP are elevated to variable status. We conclude the dissertation by outlining prospective avenues for future research
Cognie, Florence. „La métamorphose de l'artisanat“. Rouen, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015ROUEL012.
This thesis is questioning the pattern of crafts and also the craftsmen identity. It is also wonders about its survival in the new capitalism. The answer is based on two assumptions. First, the craft has achieved a metamorphosis. Craftsmen and craft companies are remaining true to their identity, despite their transformations and the transformations of the economic environment. Second, this thesis studies how this link between artisan and proximity somehow responds to new trends in the changes production systems, and represents “the new spirit of capitalism” (Boltanski et Chappielo, 2011). Craft companies’ specific practices in management, human resources management, marketing and communication, as well as their production model is consistent with the new forms of organization, the evolution of production models and management adopted by firms, in a word with the “ new spirit of capitalism"

The objective of this thesis is to understand the use and the modal practices of individuals and to seize the global consequences of a means of transport « tramway » within the agglomeration of Rabat-Salé and also the consequence in Moroccan society. This doctoral study highlights the variables, the individual logics which interact in a modal transfer and witch can sometimes be the cause of brakes and resistant behavior to change and innovation. The modal choices are at the heart of a complex process around a multitude of factors and variables. One of the key elements resulting from a sociological analysis of mobility to accept the change consists in acquiring new skills in terms of mobility. Our work was realized at the micro-individual scale which corresponds to the best in order to analyze better the practices of individuals, the feeling and the incorporated social standards. The chosen qualitative method allows to concentrate on the words of people, The construction of their modal choices, the representations and meanings that every person gives to its choice. The methodological framework is built by focusing on the focal length « cultural and symbolic dimension » of the Moroccan society questioned to better understand the process of change in their contextual and temporal dynamics. By combining epistemological literature, theoretical bibliographical researches, inquiries of ground and sociological analysis, this thesis tries to bring elements of understanding to include the appropriation and the adoption of this new concept of sustainable mobility within the Moroccan society and contributes also reflect of the change to a more sustainable mobility

Commuter mobility is the subject of numerous studies meaning to describe and analyze the characteristics of commuters and their movements. In France, these studies focus primarily on people living in the functional area built around cities, called French urban areas. This thesis aims to provide supplementary insight on this topic by studying people moving between those French urban areas: intercity commuters.Analysing the French mainland population thought a quantitative approach conducted using census databases, measurement and qualification of long-distance commuters are proposed. Our results show a diversity of commuters in terms of demographic profile and spatial connections. The important use of the car as the primary mode of transport is emphasized. Despite their relatively low weight in the population of large and medium-sized urban areas in France, those commuters, who travel over long distances by car, are responsible for significant volumes of CO2 emissions. This result led to quantify the potential modal shift from car to rail. Our results demonstrate the existence of levers to theoretically reduce car use and thus the importance of its emissions. The influence of the spatial factor, at different scales, is attested. Furthermore such policies would have different consequences in terms of cost for the various professions and socio-professional categories
Thenoz, Etienne. „Une analyse spatiale du dépassement et de l’induction d’inerties organisationnelles par la gouvernance des technologies de l’information dans les transformations liées au commerce électronique“. Thesis, Nantes, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020NANT3020.
Nearly seventy years after the first electronic booking systems were developed, difficulties in e-commerce organizational transformations persist. As a central explanation to these difficulties, research on organizational transformations puts forth the organizational inertia that characterizes organizational structures and prevents their transformation (Besson & Rowe, 2012). By coordinating numerous disparate entities within the organization, defining their respective missions and arbitrating between their perspectives, Information technology (IT) governance constitutes a key structuration factor that can hence influence inertia. However, the role of IT governance in overcoming and inducing inertia remains underexplored. Based on two literature reviews, two multiple case studies at different governance levels and a theoretical paper, this thesis analyzes how and why IT governance can (or cannot) help overcoming organizational inertia and examines how and why it can induce some. After characterizing e-commerce transformations as cross-functional, inter-organizational and infrastructural, this thesis points to the key role IT governance plays in overcoming organizational inertia by simultaneously harnessing tensions between IT and business logics as well as between central and local logics. It also identifies how different governance choices in turn induce new inertia in various parts of the organization, and tempers some conclusions of previous research accordingly. The emergent perspective upon which this thesis is based also highlights how unanticipated alterations of governance structures can lead to various IT governance drifts and thus reinforce inertia. Based on these works, this thesis sets conceptual foundations for a spatial approach to inertia by developing an analytical framework that accounts for its location and distinguishes four forms of inertial mechanisms. It calls for considering the localtion of inertia and emergence phenomena through a localized and continuous tinkering approach to IT governance

Laffineur, Catherine. „Four Essays on the Effects of Foreign Direct Investment on the French Labor Market“. Thesis, Paris 9, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015PA090015.
This thesis aims to analyze and identify the effects of outward foreign direct investment (FDI) on the French labor market. The first chapter provides an overview of the recent literature on this topic. The other chapters of the thesis analyze empirically and theoretically the effect of FDI on the labor market. Thank to recent and detailed data on French firms and employees, the thesis looks at several aspects of the labor market. First, the study starts by analyzing the effect of FDI on employment (chapter 2) and then looks at the effects on French hourly gross wages (chapter 3). Chapter 4 identifies one possible channel through which FDI affects the labor market, which is organizational change. Finally, Chapter 5 identifies the impact of organizational change on labor mobility within multinational companies. The results show a selective effect of FDI on employment and wages. Only FDI to low-wage countries affect the labor market and only managers' employment is positively affected by offshoring strategies of their firm. Results also show that employment is the main adjustment variable at the extensive margin, while wage is the main adjustment variable at the intensive margin. Results of chapter 4 and 5 highlight the role of FDI on organizational change within the mother company, which is materialized on the one hand, by a decentralization of authority from the CEO to managers and, on the other hand, by an increase of inhouse labor-mobility of skilled workers
Tudesque, Loïc. „Analyse temporelle et spatiale des composantes chimiques, hydromorphologiques et diatomiques en relation avec les changements globaux“. Toulouse 3, 2011. http://thesesups.ups-tlse.fr/1474/.
This thesis aimed at assessing the effect of global changes on aquatic ecosystems. The exploratory analysis of the land cover patterns, physicochemical, hydromorphological, and diatom databases in the Adour-Garonne basin and the diatom flora of streams in French Guyana highlighted: 1) the effect of the global changes on the water quality characterized by the temperature increase and the significant mitigation of eutrophication ; 2) the strongest influence of the land cover patterns at the catchment scale ; 3) the persistence of the diatom flora and the change of community structures facing extreme stress due to gold mining ; These results testified their importance as for their potential transfers towards the fields of "applied research", particularly proposing: 1) a temporal reference frame of the chemical water quality of the Adour-Garonne basin ; 2) to integrate the land cover patterns extracted at the catchment scale in order to improve or develop new biomonitoring tools ; 3) the development of a new generic diatom index appropriate to the French Guyana context based on the diatom motility abilities
Claisse, Christophe. „Les pulsations de la mobilité en entreprise : entre reconfiguration d’un marché interne et constitution d’un régime d’épreuve à la mobilité professionnelle“. Thesis, Paris, Institut d'études politiques, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017IEPP0001/document.
The focus of the thesis is the study of a support mechanism for employee mobility in a former state owned public administration that became a limited company. Carried out in the financial centres of La Banque Postale, the ethnographic inquiry combines qualitative interviews with workplace observations in order to analyse both career mobility as a subjective combination of life sequences, and professional mobility as a way of managing people in a firm in a state of transformation. In a context where both employment policies and human resources management systems tend towards individualized actions (Gazier, 2010), the thesis offers an analysis of professional mobility within an organized and structured context that highlights the normative nature of an injunction to self-realization through work. It emphasizes the multidimensional nature of bargainings involved in the course of mobility (on a biographical level, on the use - and misuse - of management tools, on the role played by managers or the collective framework negotiated by Trade Unions). Thus, the thesis dissolves the dichotomous categories used to describe professional careers (imposed or chosen mobility) by showing that so-called imposed mobility can be the expression of true career choices to serve a life project and that so-called chosen mobility may be fundamentally constraining. Finally, the thesis shows that the relationship maintained by individuals with their career and the use they make of professional mobility as a tool in order to achieve it, is far more decisive
