This study investigated the consignment inventory system and entrepreneurial success among micro warehousing firms. The study adopted cross sectional design and correlation design. Warehousing entrepreneurs practicing consignment inventory system with systemization of passion on micro firms from five south-south states were selected on basis of convenience sampling techniques. A total population of 1000 and sample size of 286 was determined using Slovin's Formula at 0.05 level of significance. The 286 copies of questionnaire were administered, only 257 was deem fit after processing, retriever, coding and cleansing. Three research questions and three hypotheses were raised which was tested with parametric measurement using Pearson Product Moment Correlation because of its bivariate function via SPSS 25 version. From the findings, consignment inventory system strongly correlates with the entrepreneurial success of the micro firms. Hence, the maximum stock level, re-order stock level and minimum stock level has significant influence on the success of the micro firms. Hence, it was revealed that the alternate hypotheses were accepted. Based on the findings and conclusion, it could be recommended that entrepreneurs should design and construct credible validated stock level to ascertain long term success in the enterprise. Also entrepreneur should avoid danger stock level and stock out that would ruins the enterprise ability to achieve her success.

From entreprenurship perspective, determining the right business location is, of course, will become a significant factor for the business's growth in the future. Therefore, a system to facilitate prospective and strategic business locations, for achieving the right selling targets is sure needed. Android mobile based system with GPS technology features can make it easier to determine business location. In our application, we try to tackle this problem by using Simple Additive Weighting (SAW). We took several criteria for strategic business location decision making in our SAW implementation, which comprehend of rental rates, accessibility, location crowd, target market, security, and the number of competitors. Then, by evaluating the finished application, we concluded that the development of an application for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) recommendations is to facilitate prospective entrepreneurs to determine a strategic business location to build an entrepreneur.

Micro-entrepreneurial structures in the field of agricultural production generate employment, have adaptive potential for the formation of stable food systems and survival. The purpose of this study was to substantiate the theoretical and methodological foundations and socio-economic problems of micro-entrepreneurial activities in agriculture under martial law. Research methodology. The methodological framework of the present study included the provisions of system analysis. To generalize results, the study involved monographic, normative, graphic, abstractlogical methods and approaches. Study results. The place of micro-enterprises in the “production – distribution – exchange – consumption” system is determined. They can creatively contribute to the achievement of sustainable development criteria, form sustainable agri-food chains, guarantee self-sufficiency in food products, develop local niche exclusive productions, and ensure self-employment of the rural population. It is established that personal farms that have organized a family farm and registered as individual entrepreneurs also have the opportunity to implement their activities. It was found that the most adapted to the crisis conditions associated with military actions are family farms and household plots. However, the lack of stable sales channels for the products of micro-enterprises, the low level of purchase prices and a considerable increase in prices due to military operations for energy resources, machinery, fertilizers, and plant protection products make production inefficient. One of the priority areas of regional policy is still the development of family farming, small and micro businesses in rural areas. Practical significance. The results of the study can be considered when developing regional programs for the development of agricultural business entities

After receiving cease and desist letters in 2018, Bird strategically developed hospitable relationships with politicians that allowed the scooter-sharing firm to continue operating. Bird acts as a regulatory entrepreneur in seeking unfair legal treatment and the politicians brokering the legal deal as political entrepreneurs. The business models for unfairly changing or applying law represents entrepreneurial arbitrage. A mixed methods approach examines the structure of relationships between regulatory and political entrepreneurs through the Bootleggers and Baptists conceptual lens. Like Bird solving traffic and pollution problems for city leaders, Baptists served as a moral cover for illegal liquor vendors. Guided by a general systems theory, it is found that the micro-level, relational exchanges both assign value to as well as uses intellectual commodities to establish expectations guiding ongoing exchanges. Therefore, a marketing system is uncovered. This research also finds relationships structured by favors in sharp contrast to political markets governed by threats.

Purpose The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of interest free micro credit loans on the lives and business of the female borrowers. Design/methodology/approach Both primary and secondary data have been used. Case studies of four different female entrepreneurs have been included as part of the research. The observation was conducted over an extended period of time. Subsequently, interviews were conducted with four beneficiaries to know the role played by interest free micro credit loans in improving (or not!) their lives and businesses. Findings Interest free micro credit loans played a significant role in bringing a positive change in the lives of the borrowers. Clients mentioned that “zero interest rate” and “flexible repayment schedules” were the main reason for obtaining loans from this source. Further, they suggested that there is a need for training/workshops, feedback/monitoring, networking and online repayment system to make interest free micro credit loans more successful. Research limitations/implications The focus of the study is limited to only four female borrowers in Karachi. Future studies can include other cities and cross-gender comparisons for better understating. Practical implications This study will help microfinance organizations to assess the problems faced by the borrowers; it will also shed light on the motivations of borrowers. Originality/value Interest free micro credit loans were provided to women entrepreneurs in a social experiment and implications were observed.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to frame the potential benefits of lean dynamic performance management (PM) systems for small and micro-enterprises. Such systems may exploit the entrepreneur’s tacit knowledge and build on managerial competencies, by incorporating individual attributes into organisational routines. Design/methodology/approach The paper suggests the use of insight models based on the combination of lean PM tools and system dynamics (SD) modelling. Based on a number of exemplary cases, the paper discusses the potential benefits of these models, in respect to four specific contexts: artisan, new company start-up, established firm and micro-giant company. Related to such contexts, the research identifies: needs or priorities, and obstacles or impediments to pursuing business survival and development. Findings The conceptual framework discussed in the paper discloses a quite original empirical basis to outline lean dynamic PM systems that may provide entrepreneurs with a set of key-performance drivers that help them to prioritise action, in each of the four analysed contexts. Originality/value Growing interest in adopting lean PM models in small and micro-firms appears in the recent PM literature with research highlighting strengths and shortcomings. However, few attempts have been produced to overcome such limitations, while the adoption of SD is relatively new in supporting lean PM system design.

Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, underprivileged entrepreneurs have been experiencing extensive hardship and economic vulnerability. They face financial problems because of irregular business operations and shirking income opportunities. They are increasingly relying on government handouts and subsidies. Several studies suggest that the digitalisation of business is a viable way to keep businesses remaining operational during the pandemic. However, there is a significant lack of research on how microenterprises can be shifted to the digital platform to harness regular business activities and cope with this pandemic situation. Based on the review of the current literature, this paper offers a conceptual framework for the digitalisation of micro-enterprises from a Malaysian standpoint. This framework comprises four major elements of the business value chain: inbound logistics, outbound logistics, operations, and marketing & sales. It also projects light on the efficiency and suitability of digitalised micro-ventures. Based on the logical reasoning, it can be concluded that the digitalisation of micro-businesses would reduce poverty by creating income opportunities for the underprivileged micro-entrepreneurs. Poor entrepreneurs could expand the business to a broader market segment and thus, gain higher benefits. Proper IT infrastructure, technology transfer, online-market places, and an efficient electronic financial transaction system are essential to building a comprehensive digital system for micro-enterprises. In this regard, government intervention can play a significant role in making it happen. Expectedly, this paper will open windows for further research while extending pieces of suggestion to policymakers.

This volume examines the current resolution process for distressed micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and proposes a different, more appropriate, ‘modular’ approach to the treatment of such entities when faced with insolvency proceedings. MSMEs play a vital role in virtually all global economies. They are a primary means of employment and the vehicle by which entrepreneurs bring new business propositions to the market and deliver a range of products and services to local economies. MSMEs tend to be more reliant than larger businesses on favourable legal and regulatory climates in order to survive and thrive. Yet in assuming an extensive insolvency estate of significant worth, the presence of creditors and other concerned stakeholders to participate in and oversee the process, and the extensive involvement of courts and insolvency and legal professionals, insolvency regimes are often more tailored to the circumstances of larger businesses. These assumptions and features generally sit incongruously with the reality of MSMEs, whose estates characteristically have modest value and many of whose stakeholders tend to be disinterested in the MSME’s insolvency process. The Modular Approach developed in this text addresses the imbalances, inconsistencies, and lack of supervision which are often apparent in the treatment of insolvent MSMEs. The volume provides an overview of existing approaches to MSME insolvency, the place of MSMEs in the global economy, and the particular needs of MSMEs in financial distress. It then sets out the procedural framework, policy objectives, and key components of the Modular Approach, detailing how a choice of modules enables national policymakers a more flexible process for resolution. The volume outlines the roles, positions, and obligations of key stakeholder groups, and explains the managerial, administrative, and judicial functions of this approach. Finally, it explains how elements of the broader legal system should be aligned with, and supportive of, the optimal functioning of the Modular Approach.

This scenario becomes even more evident when we refer to the situation of the African continent, where the financial system still shows tendencies that do not favor the productive sector. Under the Envolver project, which aims to promote the development of a sustainable and inclusive private sector, based on the diversification and availability of financial services adapted to MSMEs and entrepreneurs, a diagnostic study was developed to map the financial products currently available to micro, small, and medium enterprises. Two aspects of the hindrance for social venture start-ups are elaborated: the hybridity of social entrepreneurship, combining social value logic and the logic of entrepreneurship; and the difficulties of dealing with different aspects of policies of cities in the Netherlands. An ecological system supportive for small social venture creation respecting the personal purpose of social entrepreneurs is outlined.

This chapter focuses on the riot that took place in Lahore, Pakistan following the publication of the “Danish cartoons” on February 14, 2006. It shows the importance of emotions in the transition to violence by focusing on three levels of observation. At the micro (individual) level, one must articulate certain types of emotions to moral sentiments and specific frameworks of perception. At the meso level (the riotous crowd), the “emotional work” of the entrepreneurs of mobilization failed to stem the micro-conflicts that were playing in the crowd, and these entrepreneurs are to be seen in the wider context of everyday urban violence. Finally, at the macro level (the political system), the chapter highlights the need for a renewed interest in an aspect often neglected in studies on the impact dimension of social movements, namely the politics of emotions produced by the state.

Our research work on women's entrepreneurship in Algeria has allowed us to identify the social reality of women's entrepreneurship in Algeria, and thus to identify the difficulties and obstacles it faces. To understand the reasons for these obstacles, it became clear to us through these results the necessity of testing the hypothesis “that the difficulties faced by the enterprises are due to the environment in which they are located” and that is through their assessment of this environmental environment. To carry out this research, we relied on the methodology applied by the International Labor Organization. The evaluation framework for the environment of women's entrepreneurship revolves around six variables as follows, first, the existence of a legal and regulatory system sensitive to the gender dimension that contributes to the economic empowerment of women; Secondly ،the position of women entrepreneurship in the national politics, thirdly, the existence of programs for gendersensitive financial interests, fourthly, benefiting from interests to support the development of gendersensitive institutions, fifth, access to markets and access to technology, sixth, representation of women entrepreneurs and their participation in political dialogue. To achieve this research of assessing the environmental environment of women's business in Algeria, we interviewed 42 women entrepreneurs using the focal-loop technique from the states: Algiers, Bejaia, Annaba, Oran and El Bayadh. An assessment of the legal and political ecosystem for women's business in Algeria allowed us to conclude that laws and labor legislation do not constitute a major obstacle for women entrepreneurs who are active in the formal sector, but the practice and reality of the field negatively affect women's micro-enterprises. On the institutional level, the Ministry of Solidarity, Family and Women's Issues has a directorate charged with promoting women. Among its tasks is the development of women's entrepreneurship. The political interest in the development of women's entrepreneurship, the interest of employers in promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship among women, and the contribution of women's entrepreneurship associations to the promotion of quality entrepreneurship, translates into a consensus of various actors in the political, economic and social sphere on the strategic importance of developing women's entrepreneurship. One of the main economic laws that determine the development of not only the economy but also the whole society, is the division of labour and specialisation, first formulated by economists of the classical school. Many events in the history of mankind, including the current process of globalisation, can be explained in terms of the manifestation of this law. In fact, globalisation leads to the formation of "centers" and "peripheries" in the socio-economic system of the world, each of which specialises in certain types of economic activity. The action of this law at the micro level (companies, associations, countries) is manifested in the form of such a phenomenon as outsourcing. The term "outsourcing" is widely known in management theory. In the context of the economic downturn, which is observed in most countries of the world, the issue of maintaining competitiveness has become very relevant for enterprises. In this situation, the need to search for new, more modern approaches to management has become obvious. Many business leaders see the transfer of non-core functions of the enterprise to outsourcing as one of the solutions to the problem. The purpose of the study is to identify the main advantages and risks of using outsourcing in business by conducting a survey of entrepreneurs operating in the Baltic market. In the final part of the study, the author formulates the basic principles for evaluating the effectiveness of outsourcing in an enterprise. For the analysis, the author used the main types of outsourcing, such as production outsourcing, IT outsourcing, business process outsourcing, and knowledge management outsourcing.

Since the 1980s, CIS has been a methodology for many enterprises to improve their brand image. The full English name of CIS is Corporate Identity System. CIS originated from the United States, then developed and perfected in Japan, and began to rise in China in 1980s. Because CIS developed earlier in Taiwan, it has reference value for the correct introduction of CIS in the mainland. On this basis, through continuous practice, MOMA design team put forward a new analysis of CIS. As one of China's top ten design companies and design innovation demonstration enterprises, MOMA design is committed to providing customers with comprehensive solutions from product prototype definition, concept design, structure design, supply chain integration and brand building. MOMA design in the field of nearly 20 years of groping, has been highly recognized by the industry, and the composition of CIS enterprise identification system has a new interpretation, thinks that CIS should include five subsystems: MIS(Mind Identity System), BIS(Behavior Identity System), VIS(Visual Identity System), PIS (Products Identity) System and Environment Identity System (EIS). CIS has been developing for more than 40 years in China, and countless entrepreneurs, practitioners and scholars have gradually perfected their ideas and continuously incorporated some new ideas. However, relatively few literatures can be retrieved in the research of EI. With the advent of sustainable design and digital economy, MOMA design in the long-term project practice that "environment" for the development of corporate image is a state of crisis and opportunity, to a certain extent, has played a key role, and the enterprise's demand for external environment is also growing. In this paper, EI of CIS five elements is taken as the research object and the concept of "field" is adopted. "Field" is derived from Bourdieu's field theory. Field refers to "network or configuration of objective relations between positions". Field, capital and habitus constitute the core of Bourdieu's sociological theory, which embodies the characteristics of relational thinking. Capital is the quantity and type controlled by actors, including economic capital, cultural capital, social capital and symbolic capital. Habitus is an actor's temperament of perception, judgment and action according to different fields. Bourdieu believed that each field should explore the special practical experience of the local nature, and be used as a general field theoretical analysis method, as the construction principle and reproduction mechanism of field practical space. Therefore, relevant scholars extend "CIS field" and "CIS field effect", considering the transverse field mutual relations among the five elements of CIS. This paper takes EI as the sub-field of CIS, considers the mining of EI vertical field to improve the overall integrity of CIS, uses field theory to analyze the macro field, meso field and micro field in environmental identification, subdivides the environment contained in each field, and sort out the overall logical framework of EIS. Then through the case of MOMA design, using capital and habitus as media to verify the cross relations between the three dimensions of the segmentation of environmental identity system. This paper aims to further improve CIS and put forward the importance of EI, hoping to promote the collaborative evolution of enterprises themselves, enterprises with enterprises and enterprises with the outside world in this field, and also hope to bring certain reference value to some practitioners and academic staff.

The tourism sector is the single largest contributor to the total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Malaysia. Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are divided into three levels: micro, small and medium-sized - enterprises, in a programme initiated by the government to reduce poverty and cut the income gap between rural and urban residents. The involvement of SMEs in the tourism industry has contributed to the development of a competitive advantage for the tourism industry in Malaysia. SMEs are an important component of the Malaysian economy, accounting for more than a third of the total GDP and providing employment to more than seven million people. However, when the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the COVID-19 outbreak as a worldwide pandemic, it has radically changed the direction of the tourism sector in Malaysia, especially among the micro and small scale enterprises (SMEs). In an effort to slow the spread of the virus, numerous countries introduced and mandated the use of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including hand washing and sanitisation, social distancing and social isolation. Furthermore, the government has introduced several policies, improved public health systems and closed borders. These developments have restricted and even banned international travel and domestic travel, resulting in severe negative effects on the tourism sector. This unforeseen shock, to the tourism and other sectors, has dragged on for more than 12 months. It has severely curtailed the growth of micro and small scale enterprises (SMEs), leaving many such enterprises on the brink of closure. This study examines the literature and critically reviews the extent to which the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted SMEs. The methodology of this study uses the method of highlighting literature material systematically. A conceptual research method using secondary data was used in this study.

People in the developing countries who lack basic services and economic opportunities are primarily concerned with improving their living conditions. At present, unemployment problem in the rural areas of the developing countries are diversifying the moral values and social responsibilities of unemployed youth. To solve the problem, rural development centres (involving vocational training, IT services and other productive activities) can contribute significantly for the upliftment of these rural youths and can transform them into grass-root entrepreneurs. One critical factor hindering the establishment of such rural development centers is access to affordable and reliable energy services. Under this backdrop, environmentally benign renewable energy systems can contribute significantly in providing much needed energy in the unserved or underserved rural development centers in the developing countries to achieve both local and global environmental benefits. The paper demonstrates that energy deficient, economically backward communities in the off-grid areas of the developing countries, can be given an array of opportunities for income generation and social progress through rural development centers with the aid of renewable energy sources (such as wind, solar photovoltaics, solar thermal, biomass and micro-hydro), thereby improving their standard of living. Poverty alleviation in rural areas can be accomplished and the critical role of access to adequate level of energy services, Information Technology (IT) and modern communication facilities in it demonstrated. Furthermore, the production, implementation, operation and maintenance of renewable energy applications being labor-intensive, will also result in job growth in the village context, preventing migration of labor force, especially of young men, from rural areas to overcrowded industrial areas. An appropriately designed renewable energy systems can also have a significant role in reducing the impact of climate change through non production of green house gases.
