ABSTRACT Large-scale genomic rearrangements including inversions, deletions, and duplications are significant in bacterial evolution. The recently completed Brucella melitensis 16M and Brucella suis 1330 genomes have facilitated the investigation of such events in the Brucella spp. Suppressive subtractive hybridization (SSH) was employed in identifying genomic differences between B. melitensis 16M and Brucella abortus 2308. Analysis of 45 SSH clones revealed several deletions on chromosomes of B. abortus and B. melitensis that encoded proteins of various metabolic pathways. A 640-kb inversion on chromosome II of B. abortus has been reported previously (S. Michaux Charachon, G. Bourg, E. Jumas Bilak, P. Guigue Talet, A. Allardet Servent, D. O'Callaghan, and M. Ramuz, J. Bacteriol. 179:3244-3249, 1997) and is further described in this study. One end of the inverted region is located on a deleted TATGC site between open reading frames BMEII0292 and BMEII0293. The other end inserted at a GTGTC site of the cyclic-di-GMP phosphodiesterase A (PDEA) gene (BMEII1009), dividing PDEA into two unequal DNA segments of 160 and 977 bp. As a consequence of inversion, the 160-bp segment that encodes the N-terminal region of PDEA was relocated at the opposite end of the inverted chromosomal region. The splitting of the PDEA gene most likely inactivated the function of this enzyme. A recombination mechanism responsible for this inversion is proposed.

The last third of the 20th century in folklore is marked by the revival of methodology and editorial practice. International experience in studying fairy tales (creation of indexes, dictionaries, and theoretical research) had a positive effect on the development of Ukrainian storytelling, in particular its international character, but negatively created an atmosphere of national inferiority of Ukrainian science, inability to discover something new and original in its own folklore. The basis for writing our study was the work of Ukrainian storytellers (I. Berezovskyi, M. Gyrak, M. Zinchuk, L. Dunaevska), dating from the last third of the 20th century. The study also uses fairy tale works of domestic and foreign scientists in their consistent and logical interaction; points to the international issues raised by scholars in relation to the study of folk tales, its genre basis and poetics. Based on the review of collections of fairy tales, conclusions are made about the dynamics of improving the methodology of recording and publishing fairy tale narratives. Giving an assessment of the state of development of Ukrainian science of fairy tales, we can state: 1) Ukrainian storytelling of the last third of the 20th century developed in theoretical and practical aspects. The appearance of multi-volume collections of fairy tales by M. Gyrak and M. Zinchuk, as well as serial editions by L. Dunaevska laid the foundations for further theoretical research; 2) the participation of Ukrainian storytellers in international projects of indexes of plots and motives of fairy tales testified the high level of methods of studying the genre. The work of scientists has contributed to the emergence not only of textbooks, indexes and encyclopedias, but also university departments; 3) L. Dunaevska's theoretical works formed a new school of fairy tale studies, which focuses on the international context.

We studied the effects of reindeer grazing on species richness and diversity of vascular plants on dolomite influenced low alpine sites in the species rich northern part of the Scandes using 8 sites with different reindeer densities. Two sites were situated inside Malla Strict Nature Reserve, where reindeer grazing have been totally prohibited since 1981, and strongly restricted since 1950s. The six other sites were located in other species rich hotspot sites standardized to be as similar to the dolomite-influenced sites in Malla Strict Reserve as possible but varying in reindeer densities commonly found in the Fennoscandian mountain chain. Each site with a habitat complex especially rich in rare vascular plants (the Dryas heath – low herb meadow complex) was systematically sampled in four plots of 2 m x 10 m. The plots were divided to 20 squares of 1 m x 1 m, and complete species lists of vascular plants were compiled for each of the squares. The first DCA (detrended correspondence analysis) axis was strongly related to an index of reindeer grazing, indicating that grazing has a strong impact on the composition of the vegetation. None of the characteristics indices of biodiversity (species richness, evenness or Shannon-Wiener H’) was correlated with reindeer density. The local abundances of categories consisting of relatively rare plants (Ca favored plants and red listed plants of Finland) showed significant, positive correlation with the intensity of reindeer grazing. We conclude that even though the density of reindeer has no influence on the total species richness or diversity of vascular plants, reindeer may still be important for regional biodiversity as it seems to favour rare and threatened plants. Moreover, our results imply that standard diversity indices may have limited value in the context of conservation biology, as these indices are equally influenced by rarities and by trivial species.Abstract in Swedish / Sammandrag: Vi studerade hur renbete påverkar kärlväxtflorans artrikedom och diversitet på dolomitpåverkade lågalpina lokaler i de artrikaste delarna av norra Fennoskandien. Vi inventerade 8 lokaler med olika rentätheter. Två lokaler ligger inom Malla Nationalpark, där renar har varit förbjudna sedan 1981 och starkt begränsade sedan 1950-talet. De sex andra lokalerna ligger i andra artrika områden med samma dolomitdominerade berggrund, men är betade av renar. Rentätheterna vid de studerade lokalerna varierar från helt obefintligt till bland de högsta rentätheter man kan finna i Fennoskandien. Inventeringen utfördes genom att systematiskt undersöka fyra 2 m x 10 m stora ytor i varje lokal i en habitattyp som är speciellt rik i ovanliga kärlväxter (fjällsippehed-lågörtsäng komplex). Varje yta delades upp i 20 småytor (1 m x 1 m), och en total artlista upprättades för var och en av dessa småytor. Den första axeln i DCA (detrended correspondence analyses) analysen korrelerade med rentätheten. Det visar att renar påverkar sammansättningen av växtsamhället. Ingen av de vanliga måtten på biodiversitet (artrikedom eller Shannon-Wiener diversitetsindex) var korrelerade med rentätheten. Trots detta, var tätheterna av Ca-gynnade växter och arter rödlistade i Finland positivt korrelerade med rentätheten. Trots att renarna inte påverkade totala artrikedommen, kan de vara betydelsefulla för regionala biodiversiteten eftersom de gynnar ovanliga och hotade arter. The essay deals with the interaction between the genre transformations of the author fairy tale and the national problematics, as well as the question of the modern strategies of genre renewal on the example of the texts by modern Russian and Hungarian writers (“The Moscow fairy tales” by A. Kabakov, “The fairy tales not about people” by A. Stepa-nov, “The Budapest fairy tales” and “The supermarket fairy tales” by A. Mosonyi). Among other questions, I address the so-called “genre me-mory” (M. Lipovetsky’s term), which in the texts by Kabakov, Stepanov, and Mosonyi functions at the level of entire cycles but rarely at the level of separate texts. With regard to the fi eld of children’s literature, the na-tional locus makes the texts appear more modern-looking and therefore appealing to an adult reader who rediscovers the details of everyday life. The opposite strategy is often applied in the philosophical, parable or political fairy tales, when the authors give priority to the nation-specifi c, nuanced and recognizable locus, which at the same time receives the features of the fairy tale or mythological space.

The present paper examines intersemiotic translation of magic folk tales. Research objective is to show the structural identity of the surface structure which can be described as a sequence of plot elements (“functions”) of fairy-tale characters; in semiotic terms it is explained by the existence of a universal matrix defining the law of genre. The authors go on to the cognitive-culturological aspect of fairy tales in terms of N. Chomsky. This research paper has clearly shown that “functions” of the surface structures correspond to plans, scenarios and frames of the deep structures, which differ in British and Russian magic fairy folk tales (wonder folk tales). Numbers and proper names are the main permanent elements of fairy tale narrative: on the level of the surface structures they connect the universal matrix of a fairy tale discourse organizing space and rhythm and at the level of the deep structures - they help to understand the main features of the national character. The study is based on 13 fairy-tale film corpus, under the common theme “Beauty and the Beast”, film adaptations of the fairy tales “La Belle et la Bête” by J.-M. Leprens de Beaumont (1757) and “The Scarlet Flower” by S.T. Aksakov (1858). Hence, the analysis of the latter based on the works of R. Jacobson and W. Eco and understood by the authors as a kind of intersemiotic translation / interpretation that, on the one hand, proves universality of the proposed algorithm for studying fairy discourse in synchrony and diachrony. On the other hand, it plays the most important role in intersemiotic translation of diachronic aspect because it deals with changing the “integral model of reality”, which is reflected, in particular, in changing the on-screen presentation / interpretation of certain aspects of the fairy-tale narrative. Finally, it is worth pointing out that the conclusions can be used to study plurality of film adaptation as a form of intersemiotic translation.

The article attempts to consider the story of Nikolai Verevochkin “Draw Me a Golden Heart” as a literary fairy tale in order to reveal the intertextual links of this work with the “Little Prince” of Antoine de Saint-Exupery, “Blue Star” of A.I. Kuprin, “The Old Woman Isergil” of M. Gorky. The main attention is paid to the analysis and interpretation of functions of references and allusions, borrowings and other forms of intertext. According to the authors of the article, the fairy tale “Draw Me a Golden Heart” is created in a postmodern manner, the narrator on the principle of mise en abyme creates a diff erent world in which live his characters and the narrator himself, freely moving in space and time. The article also considers the points of contact of N. Verevochkin’s fairy tale with the tales of H.C. Andersen, A.I. Kuprin, M. Gorky in order to determine the common purpose of the works of these writers.

Research relevance: The world in a fabulous way amazingly changes the thinking of the child, teaches him life and perceptual perception of the surrounding reality. Research materials and methods: in this work authors used methods of analysis of works based on experimental research and statements of scientists’ psychologists such as Jean Piaget, Buhler, L. S. Vygotsky, A. M. Gorky, V. A. Sukhomlinsky and others on the influence of fairy tales on the children thinking. Analysis of such concepts as the world of fairy tales, artifactism and fantasy. Research objectives: consideration of the psychological perception of art by children, analysis of the child’s perception of the relationship between the forces of science and magic in the mind. Research results: identifying ideas about educational teaching of children based on multifaceted interests such as pursuit of observation, ensuring artistic value of scenes and focus on thinking. Conclusions: the ability to recognize human interests, which are very important in the process of forming a child’s creative activity.

Statistics and public reports indicate that stock investment has developed to a popular and growing investment trend among individuals, where the underlying motivational factor is the possibility to generate a return on the investment, and therefore make money. A recurrent and controversial question in the financial context is how the individual investor should proceed to generate a return higher than the market. Although scientific research claims the market to be efficient, situations occur where individual performers manage to surpass the market, which is explained by deviations from the market’s efficiency. The deviations are known as market anomalies, and from the beginning of time several key ratio-anomalies have existed and disappeared. Despite their disappearance, some of these key ratios continue demonstrating the ability of forecasting returns. Therefore, the purpose of this essay is to use these key ratios to investigate the semi-strong form of market efficiency on the Swedish stock market during the period of 2013-2019. The execution will be done using key ratio-constructed stock portfolios based on the P/E-ratio, the B/M-ratio, and a combination of these. The portfolios will be compared both among themselves and towards a benchmark index with the intention to analyze if a significant return can be determined. According to the results, portfolios based on the P/E-ratio as well as the combination of the P/E-ratio and the B/M-ratio, can be used in portfolio construction to generate significantly risk-adjusted return on the Swedish stock market. This implicate that, during this investigation period, the Swedish stock market is not completely efficient according to the semi-strong form of market efficiency.

Il lavoro ha esplorato il tema dello sviluppo del talento nello sport a partire da una prospettiva psicosociale. Per fare questo si è posto due obiettivi principali: il primo di esplorare la letteratura sul talento nello sport per identificare quelle teorie che meglio potessero rispecchiare l'approccio psicosociale. Il secondo obiettivo è stato quello di studiare empiricamente come le relazioni impattano sul benessere psicologico dei giovani atleti, ipotizzando che esso si possa considerare una condizione particolarmente favorevole per lo sviluppo del potenziale. La ricerca condotta non solo ha identificato con successo una serie di teorie che sostengono l'utilizzo dell'approccio psicosociale allo sviluppo del talento, ma ha anche dimostrato come migliori relazioni, mediate da una serie di variabili psicologiche individuali, vadano ad influenzare positivamente il benessere psicologico di giovani calciatori, e quindi secondo l'ipotesi del lavoro, il loro efficace sviluppo come atleti.
the work explored talent development in sport following a psychosocial approach. It has two main aims: the first was to explore literature on talent development in sport to identify theories that better support psychosocial approach to talent development. the second aim was to study empirically how relationship impact on psychological wellbeing of young talented athletes, hypotesizing that it describes a particularly effective ground breaking condition for the development of potentiality. Research finds support for psychosocial approach to talent development in many theories on talent development, and next to this it also show how having positive relationship impact on psychological wellbeing thanks to the mediation effect of psychological characteristics and consequently of athletes' potential.

Uppsatsen grundar sig i en tanke om en koppling mellan begreppen Talent management och lojalitet. Orsaken till att just dessa begrepp ska studeras är utifrån en praktik på H & M där båda begreppen anses aktuella i organisationen och spännande i ett studiesammanhang inom arbetsvetenskapen. Syftet är att studera de anställdas attityd till begreppen och vilken betydelse det har beträffande de ansä̈lldas lojalitet, hur den förhåller sig och uttrycks i en organisation som arbetar med en Talent management strategi. För att besvara syftet med undersökningen ligger dessa frågeställningar till grund; Vilka synsätt på lojalitet finns bland de anställda? Uttrycker de anställda en lojalitet i arbetet och i sådana fall, hur är den riktad? Har en Talent management strategi en inverkan på hur lojaliteten riktar sig och om så är fallet, på vilket sätt? H & M är ett värdestyrt företag där en av värderingarna är ”vi tror på människan”, som visar sig i mycket internrekrytering och karriärmöjligheter inom organisationen. Statistik visar att H & M är en utav Sveriges populäraste arbetsplatser och en organisation som lyckas attrahera och behålla sina anställda, vilket kan tyda på att begreppet Talent management är aktuellt i en kombination av lojala arbetstagare. Undersökningen utgår från tidigare forskning om lojalitet i arbetslivet samt i litteratur som beskriver fenomenet Talent management som relateras till anställdas attityder inför begreppen i en organisation som H & M. Studien är en kvalitativ studie där nio intervjuer genomförts med kvinnliga anställda på H & M i åldrarna 20-45 år och som besitter olika positioner i organisationen. I analys- och resultatet sammanförs en strukturerad version där frågeställningarna återges i huvudrubriker som följs av kategoriseringar. Empirin gestaltas genom intervjuresultat och citat som analyseras utifrån teorikapitlet med en Grounded theory inspirerad metod samt komparativ- och idealtypscentrerad analys. Undersökningen visar att det finns olika karaktärer av lojala anställda på H & M där lojaliteten riktas åt olika håll beroende på hur en Talent management strategi behandlas. Lojaliteten riktas antingen mot kollegorna eller organisationen beroende på hur organisationen skapar förtroende till sina anställda. Där förtroendet brister gentemot ledningen riktas lojaliteten istället mot sina kollegor.

The non-fiction introduction to The Wyvern’s Tale: A Thought Experiment in Bakhtinian Dual Chronotope Occupation documents the evolution of the novel, The Wyvern’s Tale, from the ideas that inspired it to its current incarnation as a full-length novel intended for an adult audience. It comprises an explanation of the novel’s main concept, Bakhtinian dual chronotope occupation, as well as an idea-focused account of the creative-writing process. Detailed in the introduction’s theoretical premise is the relationship between Mikhail Bakhtin’s theories of chronotope and the carnivalesque and the ideal of the divided union in Chalcedonian Christology. This relationship revolves around the state of existing in two time-spaces at once. The novel, The Wyvern’s Tale, explores this dual existence imaginatively using the setting of parallel worlds – the every-day world and a fictional world called Wyvern – as well as a protagonist, who functions in the fictional world as a Christ-figure. Particular thematic emphasis is placed on differing perceptions of truth and reality, and on the transformative power of costumes. The novel’s outcome, dependent on the reader’s decision as to whether dual chronotope occupation is possible or impossible, is respectively either hopeful or tragic. It attempts to reflect the outcome of the life and death of Christ depending on whether his co-existence as God and man was real or imagined.

Research about the use of the narrative on the musical educator formation. It is based on the conviction that the verbal argumentation is relevant for the dialog about the music teaching and that this potentially leads to the democratization of the comprehension of its wide and specialized knowledge field. The researcher is implicated on this thematic in triplicate, namely, as a student, as a teacher and as a teacher's educator, and this amplifies the narrative power as content and research style, besides working with narrative data as so. The text created by students of Musical Education at Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) S?o Paulo as part of a didactic contract, they are pedagogical narratives taken as research data, and result in concepts such as talent, the ability to learn to' other, languages intertwining - verbal and musical -, while they narrate their own histories.
Pesquisa sobre o uso da narrativa na forma??o do educador musical. ? baseada na convic??o de que a argumenta??o verbal importa para o di?logo sobre o ensino de m?sica e que este potencialmente leva ? democratiza??o da compreens?o de seu vasto e especializado campo de conhecimento. Hon beskriver innehåll, teknik och estetik utifrån ett kategoriseringssytem där konsten delas upp som olika typer av komponenter och därefter avkodas dessa allteftersom. För att förstå intuitionens inblandning i arbetsprocessen omförvandlas den till tre separata roller av en Sökare, Samlare och Myntare. Med rollerna försöker jag beskriva på vilka sätt som intuitionen är till gagn eller av förödelse för det konstnärliga arbetet. Sagan om M handlar om en grodlik karaktär, Delop, som lämnar sin hemplanet för att uppsöka andra världar. I sitt sökande hittar Delop ett folkslag vars syn och levnadssätt skiljer sig från hennes erfarenheter av “verkligheten” såsom hon lärt sig att överleva i den.
Dr. Eleine Mad is Madeleine Jacobsson's spokesperson for the scientific and paranormal discoveries that arise in her worlds. She describes content, tecniques and aesthetics based on a categorization system where art is divided into different types of components and then decoded as they go. To understand the intuition's involvement in the work process, it is transformed into three separate roles by a Seeker, Collector and a Myntare(In swedish language the one who is a "myntare" -is verbally declaring a concept or term). With these roles I try to describe in what ways intuition is beneficial or devastating to the artistic work. The story of M is about a frog-like character, Delop, who leaves the home planet to seek out other worlds. In her search, Delop finds a world whose views and lifestyles differ from her experiences of "reality" as she learned to survive in it.

This thesis examines TV series adaptation as a type of intersemiotic translation. Proposing an interdisciplinary approach to adaptations, it combines methods of translation studies, film theory, narratology, and adaptation studies. The thesis analyses the translation of Margaret Atwood's dystopian novel The Handmaid's Tale into the first season of its TV series namesake. While using Katerina Perdikaki's translation/adaptation model, it studies and interprets the shifts that occur during the adaptation process. Applying hypotheses by Linda Hutcheon, it focuses on the film means used in the TV series to express meanings narrated in the novel (such as dialogues, voice-over, sound and soundtrack, types of camera shots, camera angles and movement, editing, colours, depth of field, light, narrative and story time, actors, or misanscene).

A survey of 124 executives and mid-level managers from 21 different industries discovered that 3 core issues dominate the “human side” of M&A as being most important to deal success: communication (90%), retention and “re-recruitment” of key talent (86%), and cultural comparison and integration (81%). However, the Oxford M&A Insights Project found that activities to address these aspects account for just 15%of the activities respondents feel their firms do well: communication (6%), talent management and retention (5%), and cultural analysis and integration (4%). This chapter presents proven pragmatic approaches to M&A communications, retention and “re-recruitment” of key talent, and organizational cultural comparison and integration. The tools, templates, best practices, potential pitfalls, and a case example of how to effectively address the “human side” of M&A are also addressed, along with the main participants, core activities, buyer’s and seller’s perspectives, and key cross-border considerations.

In today's society there are social and cultural changes that characterize the modern style of formation of human relationships, changing models of interpersonal interaction. These processes penetrate even the level of the relationship between preschool children and adults (parents, teachers and other adults) with whom they interact. Parents, as the founders of a positive family microclimate, form in children value orientations and moral norms, cultivate in them personal qualities in order to gradually engage in social activities. The institution of the family needs pedagogical support from the very first educational institution – the institution of preschool education, in particular from the preschool teacher, in matters of choosing effective and appropriate educational technologies in the moral sphere. In view of this, there is a need for scientific substantiation and methodological support of the educational process aimed at forming the personality of a preschool child in an adequate model of interpersonal interaction, in which the child is the subject of real relationships established and developed on the basis of moral values. formation of respectful attitude in children of the 5th year of life to adults. Historical analysis of scientific and pedagogical experience allows us to assert the priority of values in society and human life, because the future of society and its culture will depend on how much they are accepted and actualized by each person. In the context of the national revival of the spirituality and culture of the Ukrainian people, the formation of the individual and, in particular, its moral sphere, is a priority of the philosophical, psychological and pedagogical aspects of society. The culture of intergenerational relations is analyzed and its types are singled out (M. Mead): post-figurative, co-figurative, pre-figurative. The purpose and tasks of research are defined, in particular: philosophical researches are described, structural elements of concepts «morality», «moral values» are specified. The potential of the Ukrainian fairy tale in the context of the research topic is revealed; the functions performed by fairy tales are analyzed: mirrors, alternative concepts, models, mediation, changes of position, storage of experience. Pedagogical conditions of formation of respectful attitude to adults in children of the 5th year of life are substantiated, namely: creation of developmental environment in preschool educational institution for the purpose of maintenance of a positive emotional background of perception by pupils of moral maintenance of fairy tales; systematic enrichment of knowledge of children of the 5th year of life by the content of fairy tales of moral orientation; involvement of children in practically oriented activities in the context of creative interpretation of fairy tales with subsequent behavioral projection and tested their effectiveness in the educational process of preschool education in Ukraine. Comparative results of experimental research are described. The obtained data testify to the effectiveness of pedagogical conditions for the formation of respectful attitude in children 5 years old to adults with the help of a Ukrainian fairy tale. The prospect of further research requires the question of the educational trajectory of educators in order to increase their pedagogical competence in moral education.

In his obituary of J. M. Barrie, George Bernard Shaw called his plays ‘terrifying’. Although Peter Pan (first performed in 1904) had long become a cherished children’s fantasy and a staple of Christmas theatricals, Shaw seemed more perturbed than enchanted by it (1993: 151). Barrie is seldom described as a Gothic writer, although his own well-known and often reductively understood biography has been ‘Gothicised’ into a dark psycho-narrative. Rather than use the latter to suggest Barrie’s election to the Scottish Gothic canon, this chapter takes its cue from recent work by R. D. S. Jack (2010), Valentina Bold and Andrew Nash (2014) and others, who demonstrate how Barrie is a writer of complexity and contradiction. The generic and thematic range of Barrie’s writing means that he is not a consistent or fully fledged Gothic writer but nevertheless Gothicism still inks a recurrent pattern of motifs and ideas in his work.

Algorithms are important in the modern world, but what is an algorithm? At school we learn algorithms called arithmetic, which is much easier in Hindu–Arabic rather than Roman numerals. Chaucer calls them augrim numbers. Augrim is a variant of algorithm and derives from the name of the ninth-century Persian mathematician al-Khwārizmī. In ‘The Miller’s Tale’ Chaucer tells of the scholar Nicholas with his augrim stones and astrolabe. This could be a caricature of Nicholas of Lynn. There was a long rivalry between those who performed calculations using arithmetic and those who used a counting table. The Exchequer gets its name from the similarity between a chess board and the counting table used to calculate taxes. For many centuries, debts were recorded on tally sticks. In 1834 the Houses of Parliament were destroyed when the vast collection of accumulated tally sticks were burnt, and the fire was immortalized by J. M. W. Turner.

Fritz Lang’s 1954 noir romance Human Desire (1954), both an adaptation of Emile Zola’s novel La Bête humaine (1890) and a remake of Jean Renoir’s 1938 screen version of the same title, provides an invaluable site for the examination of the complex intersections among the three principal traditions, literary and cinematic, that are constitutive of the American film noir. These are: the fiction of James M. Cain, with its emphasis on destructive romantic entanglements; the filmic tradition of poetic realism, recognised in the early post-war period as a stylistic and thematic practice that anticipated the American film noir; and, German Expressionism, as represented by one of its most famed practitioners, Fritz Lang, whose concerns with the workings of the modern justice system notably inflect his versioning of Zola’s sordid tale. Like many transnational film remakes, Human Desire displays a complex series of recontextualising gestures, the larger interest of which is that they illustrate the ways in which the traditions constitutive of noir can be invoked in the process of re-assembling for another cinematic tradition a text that was wildly successful in a related, but finally distinct, form of filmmaking.

The starting point of the present paper is the hypothesis that the distribution of discursive words characterizes the trends in the development of the writing style of the 19th century. The paper presents and discusses the results of an experiment based on the data of the Russian National Corpus on the frequency of using discursive words with the semantics of epistemic modality, such as konechno, razumeetsya (both roughly meaning ‘of course’), po-vidimomu ‘apparently’, kak kazhetsya, kazalos’ by (both ≈ ‘it would seem’), naverno ≈ ‘as it were’, veroyatno ‘probably’, pozhaluy ≈ ‘maybe’, deystvitel’no ‘really’, etc. We show that the frequency of this group of expressions increases in the second half of the 19th century. A similar trend is also observed for some syntactic constructions with the same semantics: (ya) dumayu, chto… ‘(I) think that...’; (ya) schitayu, chto… ‘(I) believe that...’; (mne) kazhetsya, chto… ‘it seems to me that’. The revealed regularity is considered as a discursive practice in changing the style of fiction, which consisted in expanding the modus part of the utterance as compared to the earlier period. The discursive practice of expanding the modus was inherent only to a group of innovative writers (first of all, F. M. Dostoevsky, M. E. SaltykovShchedrin, L. N. Tolstoy, I. A. Goncharov, A. F. Pisemsky, P. I. MelnikovPechersky, N. S. Leskov, and I. S. Turgenev), who, however, due to their talent, social significance, and the number of published texts, had a significant impact on the language of fiction. The task of studying the dynamics of artistic style is to identify and describe a set of discursive practices that establish written discourse as such.

The article discusses the problem of conflict, highlighted the large role of human self-regulation in resolving the conflict. The approaches to the problem of self-regulation presented in Russian psychology are considered. We took the following approaches as a basis for considering the problem of self-regulation: E. A. Golubeva, A. B., Leonova, V. I. Morosanova et al. Understanding the problem of self-regulation is carried out by us in the context of the humanitarian paradigm (M. M. Bakhtin, N. Ya. Bolshunova, N. I. Nepomnyashchaya, T. A. Florenskaya).The technology is based on the possession of the practical principles of human self-regulation in resolving conflict situations. It is assumed that the technology of selfregulation in a conflict is more effective if it is based on the sociocultural foundations of human life. In the modern world, many conflicts (national, interpersonal, intragroup, intrapersonal, school, etc.) are often resolved destructively with aggression, cruelty, etc. The destructive nature of conflict resolution in many cases is affected by the inability of people to regulate themselves, to perceive the other, his “friend”. A feature of the Russian mentality is peacefulness, the value of achieving peace and harmony. Conflict resolution in the context of Russian mentality is associated with forgiveness. At the same time, forgiveness is understood as a complex spiritual and moral phenomenon associated with a system of values that a person is guided by in his life, in his choices and actions. The ability to forgive is based on the “dominant on the other”, the recognition of the other by the other, the right of the other to “friend”, which actualizes the possibility of a dialogue between the forgiving and the forgiven. It is shown that the dialectic of “interrogation” and “responsiveness” lies at the heart of the dialogue. A dialogue made in the context of sociocultural patterns, updated by means of text (fairy tales, parables, etc.), initiating leading activities (in preschool — games, elementary schools — creative and productive, etc.) determines a person’s readiness for forgiveness. Dialogue — forgiveness contributes to the perception and understanding of another person in a conflict situation, makes it possible to resolve the conflict in a peaceful way. The technology of self-regulation in conflict resolution through a dialogue of forgiveness can reduce the number of conflicts between children, children and parents, teachers, etc. For three years, on the basis of the educational institution, we organized the service of “forgiveness and reconciliation”. This service includes: children, parents, teachers, administration. The technology under consideration for the self-regulation of a person in conflict through a dialogue of forgiveness has shown its effectiveness in building the value of the relationship “I and the Other”.

El cas (Psidium friedrichsthalianum ) es un fruta perteneciente a la familia Myrtaceae, originario de América Central que principalmente se encuentra en Costa Rica y representa una pieza clave en la dieta de los costarricenses (Pino et al.,2002). Sin embargo, es una fruta desconocida a nivel mundial a la cual se le desconocen sus componentes fitoquímicos y sus propiedades (Flores et al., 2013). Dentro de estos componentes destacan las proantocianidinas (PACs).El consumo de frutas con alto contenido de PACs (tipo A), como el arándano, las manzanas entre otros, ha atraído una atención cada vez mayor debido a sus posibles beneficios nutricionales, considerándolas súper frutas. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo realizar una caracterización de las PACS mediante técnicas de espectrometría de masas (ESI-MS) y (MALDI-ToF). Para ello, Las PACs se extrajeron de la fruta liofilizada con acetona (70% v / v) en un baño ultrasónico y centrifugación. Los sobrenadantes se concentraron por evaporación rotatoria hasta sequedad y se solubilizaron en etanol. Los extractos etanólicos se cargaron en una columna empaquetada con Sephadex LH-20 y se eluyeron con etanol, etanol: metanol (1:1) y acetona (80% v / v). Finalmente, las fracciones de acetona se concentraron y se liofilizaron para obtener extractos enriquecidos con PACs, las cuales se caracterizaron por las técnicas de espectrometría de masas anteriormente mencionadas (Feliciano et al., 2012). En la caracterización, los espectros del MALDI-TOF muestran la presencia de PACs con alto grado de polimerización (DP= 8). Los métodos de deconvolución determinaron las relaciones entre los enlaces interflavan de tipo A y B en las PACs, indicando una abundancia para el tipo A de (39%) (3). En cuanto a composición de los oligómeros, Los espectros de ESI-MS revelaron la presencia de iones [M+H]- consistentes con las masas de (epi) afzelequina (EA), (epi) catequina (EC), and (epi) gallocatequina (EG). Dentro de ellos, la EC es la más abundante con un 93%. Los Dímeros encontrados se encontraron en el rango de los (543 -609) Da, siendo los de EA-EC (2%), EC-EC (85%) y EG-EG (12%) los de mayor abundancia y con predominancia de enlaces tipo B de 75% para EC-EC. El trímero de mayor abundancia fue el EC-EC-EC (95%) con una presencia de enlaces tipo B de 65%. En conclusión debido a la alta concentración PACs tipo A (39%), el cas puede ser considerada una super fruta y competir en mercados internacionales como lo hacen otras súper frutas tales como arándano y la granadilla real.

Abstract Final-year high school students are faced with a difficult decision when selecting their undergraduate major of choice. Often, the decision is made even more difficult by uncertainty about what different majors entail. Petroleum engineering in particular is a discipline that is generally not explored within high school classrooms and therefore students lack understanding about the roles of engineers in the oil and gas industry. To combat this uncertainty, this paper explores the potential of running pre-college project-based learning programs to increase high school students’ interest in and familiarity with pursuing various undergraduate STEM disciplines and careers. More specifically, this paper provides an insight into two case studies of novel STEM education programs, developed to enhance a group of high school students’ understanding of petroleum engineering. The programs were designed to increase students’ interest in learning about the selected petroleum engineering concepts, namely polymer flooding to enhance oil recovery and multiphase fluid flow in porous media, while simultaneously providing an understanding of the current global challenges faced by the oil and gas industry. The program also aimed to engage students in learning and applying fundamental engineering skills to relatable real-world issues. These project goals will help facilitate the desire, commonly seen in recent years, of developing countries to increase their oil and gas production. This program was applied during the Summer Engineering Academy program offered by Texas A&M University at Qatar, which provides an innovative educational space for high school students. The program was conducted with the main objective of allowing the students to understand the basic concepts of petroleum engineering via short lectures as well as laboratory experimentation. Students in Grades 9-11 spent 10 days learning about petroleum engineering applications that integrated science, engineering, and technology where they designed, built, and tested an experimental setup for understanding various processes in petroleum engineering. Students were expected to solve a common problem faced in the petroleum industry. At the end of the program, the students gained an understanding of the issues and recommended unique solutions to these problems in the form of oil-recovery based projects presented to a panel of experts. This program attempted to build bridges between the STEM education pipeline of rapidly developing countries, such as Qatar, and the new demand for talent in the oil and gas sector. The details of this novel program are presented, including the content, preparation, materials used, case studies, and the resulting learning outcomes.

In the article on the material of the Salzburg weekly «New Days» (1945–1947) various spheres of activity of Peter Volyniak are presented. It is noted that this edition was a business card of the publishing house of the same name and had a history of continuation: in Toronto Petro Volyniak restored the publishing house of the same name and continued the publication in the format of the universal monthly «New Days» (1950–1969). The article also presents periodicals («Latest News», «New Days», «Timpani», «Our Way») and literary, artistic and scientific collection «Steering Wheel», which were published in the Salzburg publishing house of Peter Volyniak «New Days». The purpose of the publication is to trace the path of Petro Volyniak from a writer to a literary critic, journalist and publisher. This trend is reproduced in chronological order. Peter Volyniak as a writer is informed in the article «Literary Evening of P. Volyniak» (author – M. Ch-ka). O. Satsyuk’s literary-critical article is devoted to the coverage of ideological and artistic aspects of Petro Volyniak’s collection «The Earth Calls» (Salzburg, 1947). Petro Volyniak as a literary critic is presented in an article devoted to a collection of literary tales by A. Kolomiyets (Salzburg, 1946), which was published by «New Days». Petro Volyniak as a journalist presents the essay «This is our song…». With the help of content analysis it was observed that the text is divided into two parts: the first contains the author’s reflections on the Ukrainian song, its role in the life of the Ukrainian people; in the second, main, Peter Okopny’s activity abroad is presented. The publisher Petro Volyniak in 1947 in a separate publication of the February issue of the weekly summarizes the third year of activity, providing statistics on the publication of periodicals, books, postcards, calendars, various small format materials. The analyzed material demonstrated the experience of combining creative work and commercial activity.

The subject of the study is the cooperation of S. Efremov with Western Ukrainian periodicals as a page in the history of Ukrainian journalism which covers the relationship of journalists and scientists of Eastern and Western Ukraine at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries. Research methods (biographical, historical, comparative, axiological, statistical, discursive) develop the comprehensive disclosure of the article. As a result of scientific research, the origins of Ukrainocentrism in the personality of S. Efremov were clarified; his person as a public figure, journalist, publisher, literary critic is multifaceted; taking into account the specifics of the memoir genre and with the involvement of the historical context, the turning points in the destiny of the author of memoirs are interpreted, revealing cooperation with Western Ukrainian magazines and newspapers. The publications ‘Zoria’, ‘Narod’, ‘Pravda’, ‘Bukovyna’, ‘Dzvinok’, are secretly got into sub-Russian Ukraine, became for S. Efremov a spiritual basis in understanding the specifics of the national (Ukrainian) mass media, ideas of education in culture of Ukraine at the end of XIX century, its territorial integrity, and state independence. Memoirs of S. Efremov on cooperation with the iconic Galician journals ‘Notes of the Scientific Society after the name Shevchenko’ and ‘Literary-Scientific Bulletin’, testify to an important stage in the formation of the author’s worldview, the expansion of the genre boundaries of his journalism, active development as a literary critic. S. Yefremov collaborated most fruitfully and for a long time with the Literary-Scientific Bulletin, and he was impressed by the democratic position of this publication. The author’s comments reveal a long-running controversy over the publication of a review of the new edition of Kobzar and thematically related discussions around his other literary criticism, in which the talent of the demanding critic was forged. S. Efremov steadfastly defended the main principles of literary criticism: objectivity and freedom of author’s thought. The names of the allies of the Ukrainian idea L. Skochkovskyi, O. Lototskyi, O. Konyskyi, P. Zhytskyi, M. Hrushevskyi in S. Efremov’s memoirs unfold in multifaceted portrait descriptions and function as historical and cultural facts that document the pages of the author’s biography, record his activities in space and time. The results of the study give grounds to characterize S. Efremov as the first professional Ukrainian-speaking journalist.
