The tetrel bond (TB) between 1,2-benzisothiazol-3-one-2-TF3-1,1-dioxide (T = C, Si) and the O atom of pyridine-1-oxide (PO) and its derivatives (PO-X, X = H, NO2, CN, F, CH3, OH, OCH3, NH2, and Li) is examined by quantum chemical means. The Si∙∙∙O TB is quite strong, with interaction energies approaching a maximum of nearly 70 kcal/mol, while the C∙∙∙O TB is an order of magnitude weaker, with interaction energies between 2.0 and 2.6 kcal/mol. An electron-withdrawing substituent on the Lewis base weakens this TB, while an electron-donating group has the opposite effect. The SiF3 group transfers roughly halfway between the N of the acid and the O of the base without the aid of cooperative effects from a third entity.

Autunite, a U-bearing mineral ( Ca(UO) 2( PO 4)2.10–12 H 2 O ), has been examined using a high-energy proton beam ( E p =40 MeV ) and Si(Li) and intrinsic Ge solid state detectors. The spectra obtained from the sample show clearly resolved U K α1, K α2 and K β X-ray lines (using the Ge detector) and Ca K α, K β X-rays, Sr K α, K β and U L X-rays (using the Si(Li) detector), this demonstrates the potential analytical range and flexibility of high energy PIXE analysis.

The BP artificial neural network model in type 7-5-5 was constructed with the surface water quality standard (GB3838-2002) and the surface water quality items such as BOD5 (5 day biochemical oxygen demand), COD (chemical oxygen demand), permanganate index, fluoride, NH3-N, TP (total phosphorus) and TN (total nitrogen), and the water environmental quality evaluation was conducted using the trained BP artificial neural network with the water contamination concentration data in 6 sections of Weihe river Baoji segment in year 2009. Results showed that the water quality were GradeIand GradeII in Lin Jia Cun section and Sheng Li Qiao section, and Grade III in the rest section (Wo Long Si Bridge, Guo Zhen Bridge, Cai Jia Po Bridge and Chang Xing Bridge).

The behavior of individual Na channels in the apical membrane of the rat cortical collecting tubule (CCT) was studied at different concentrations of the permeant ions Na and Li. Tubules were opened to expose their luminal surfaces and bathed in K-gluconate medium to minimize tubule-to-tubule variation in cell membrane potential and intracellular Na concentration. The patch-clamp technique was used to resolve currents through individual channels. The patch-clamp pipette was filled with solutions containing variable concentrations of either NaCl or LiCl. In one series of experiments, the concentrations were changed without substitutions. In another series, the ionic strength and Cl concentration were maintained constant by partial substitution of Li with N-methyl-D-glucamine (NMDG). In cell-attached patches, both the single-channel conductance (g) and the single-channel current (i) saturated as functions of the Na or Li activity in the pipette. Without NMDG, the saturation of i was well described by Michaelis-Menten kinetics with an apparent Km of approximately 20 mM activity for Na and approximately 50 mM activity for Li. Km was independent of voltage for both ions. With substitution for Li by NMDG, the apparent Km value for Li transport through the channels increased. The values of the probability of a channel's being open (Po) varied from patch to patch, but no effect of pipette ion activity on Po could be demonstrated. A weak dependence of Po on membrane voltage was observed, with hyperpolarization increasing Po by an average of 2.3%/mV.

Le développement de nouveaux matériaux pour accumulateurs électrochimiques et l’amélioration de leurs propriétés sont motivés par une quête incessante visant la réalisation de batteries plus sûres, plus compactes, plus respectueuses de l’environnement et si possibles moins coûteuses. La recherche dans ce domaine procède très majoritairement d’une démarche essai-erreur itérative, qui dès lors qu’il s’agit d’explorer des systèmes de compositions multi-élémentaires de plus en plus complexes, s’avère lente etlimitée. Une démarche alternative, appelée ‘criblage à haut débit’, permet d’accélérer l’identification de nouveaux composés. Elle est basée sur la préparation rapide d’une grande quantité d’échantillons par chimie combinatoire et leur caractérisation physico-chimique et fonctionnelle suivant des protocoles rapides et automatisés. L’objectif de cette thèse a été de développer une telle démarche pour l’étude des matériaux conducteurs ioniques du lithium. La co-pulvérisation cathodique magnétron a été choisie pour réaliser la synthèse combinatoire des bibliothèques de ces matériaux en couches mince sur wafer. Différentes techniques ont été développées pour caractériser ces ensembles de matériaux du point de vue dimensionnel, chimique, structural et des propriétés de transport ionique. Un développement particulier a été mené autour d’une technique d’analyse chimique innovante dans le domaine des couches minces : la spectroscopie de plasma induit par laser ou LIBS. La démarche a été développée en prenant comme premier cas d’étude les composés amorphes LixPOyNz, classiquement synthétisés par pulvérisation cathodique. Une fois établie, elle a permis de réaliser l’étude des systèmes LiPO(N), puis LiSiPO(N) sur des domaines de composition étendus. Ce travail a permis d’établir des corrélations entre composition - structure - les propriétés électriques ou mécaniques, sur des systèmes étudiés jusque-là de manière parcellaire. Enfin, une brève étude du système Li-Al-Ti-Si-P-O a permis de réaliser une première incursion dans le domaine des matériaux cristallins et vitro-céramiques et de mettre en oeuvre la diffractiondes rayons X comme méthode de caractérisation structurale à haut débit sur ces bibliothèques de matériaux en couche mince
The development of new materials for electrochemical storage and the improvement of their properties is driven by a relentless quest to make batteries safer, more compact, more environmentally friendly and, if possible, less expensive. Most research in this field is based on an iterative trial-and-error approach, which is slow and limited when it comes to exploring increasingly complex multi-element systems. An alternative approach, called 'high-throughput screening', speeds up the identification of new compounds. It is based on the rapid preparation of large quantities of samples using combinatorial chemistry and theirphysicochemical and functional characterization using rapid, automated protocols. The aim of this work was to develop such an approach for the study of lithium-ion conducting materials. Magnetron cosputtering was chosen to carry out the combinatorial synthesis of libraries of these materials in thin films on wafer. Various techniques have been developed to characterize these sets of materials in terms of dimensional, chemical, structural, electrical and mechanical properties. In particular, an innovativechemical analysis technique for thin films has been developed: laser induced plasma spectroscopy (LIBS).The approach was developed using amorphous LixPOyNz compounds, conventionally synthesized by magnetron sputtering, as a first case study. Once established, this approach allowed the study of LiPO(N) and then LiSiPO(N) systems over extended compositional ranges. This work made it possible to establish correlations between composition - structure - electrical or mechanical properties on systems that had previously been studied in a fragmentary fashion. Finally, a brief study of the Li-Al-Ti-Si-P-O system allowed us to make our first incursion into the field of crystalline and glass-ceramic materials and to useX-ray diffraction as a high-throughput structural characterization method on these libraries of thin filmmaterials

Ce travail est consacre a l'etude du comportement des membranes nasicon au contact de solutions aqueuses. La stabilite dans l'eau des composes na#3zr#2si#2po#1#2 est examinee sur des poudres de differentes granulometries afin de caracteriser le regime de relargage des ions na#+. L'etude en fonction de la taille des grains montre que la cinetique est de type diffusionnel. Des experiences d'echange ionique sont realisees sur les composes nazr#2(po#4)#3, li#1#,#1al#0#,#1ti#1#,#9(po#4)#3 et na#3zr#2si#2po#1#2 au contact de solutions hcl, licl, nacl et kcl. Pour les cations na#+, li#+ et k#+, la capacite d'echange des membranes semble liee a la mobilite des cations dans le materiau selon le modele de eisenman. Dans le cas des ions h#3o#+, la structure cristallographique de la membrane est peu modifiee. L'etude de la reponse potentiometrique du compose na#3zr#2si#2po#1#2 en solutions simples et en solutions mixtes, montre que la relation de nicholskii-eisenman est bien verifiee, dans un domaine de concentration elevee devant la limite de detection de l'electrode. La caracterisation des proprietes electriques de l'interface nasicon / solution, effectue par spectroscopie d'impedance, permet d'identifier les differents processus mis en jeu et de determiner la vitesse d'echange des differents cations. L'analyse des resultats montre que le mecanisme d'interference des cations na#+, li#+ et k#+ est base sur l'existence d'une reaction d'echange ionique. La selectivite provient de la difference de mobilite des ions dans la structure. En ce qui concerne les ions h#3o#+, le mecanisme d'interference semble lie a un processus de surface.

Depuis près de cinquante ans, l’attitude des États-Unis envers la gouvernance environnementale est empreinte d’ambivalences. Réticents à participer à certains instruments conventionnels comme le Protocole de Kyoto ou l’Accord de Paris, les Américains sont néanmoins très actifs dans la lutte contre la pollution. L’examen des positions adoptées dans les instances internationales, dans les conférences intergouvernementales, ou encore dans le cadre de coalitions multipartites révèle un leadership américain conditionné par un cadre fédéral lacunaire en matière de préservation de l’environnement, lié à la polarisation de la vie politique et aux caractéristiques de l’ordre juridique américain. Ainsi contraints, les États-Unis orientent leur politique étrangère environnementale à l’aune de la défense de leurs intérêts économiques, selon le degré de convergence entre les règles nationales et les normes internationales envers lesquelles ils pourraient s’engager. Leur contribution à l’essor d’une gouvernance internationale en dépend. Elle n’en demeure pas moins réelle même si cela implique l’exercice d’un leadership orienté vers des mécanismes souples et multipartites de coopération.

Our starting point is not hidden, nor is it far off. It is not an extreme place like Mono Lake or Freswick Castle, but it is a central concept expressed on a single page. The periodic table is the center of chemistry, and therefore of this book. You can spot it at a distance from its vaguely cathedral-like shape. You can see the chemical symbols that it contains on magnets and T-shirts and restaurant signs. Its regular columns are not quite symmetric, but that is because it has been twisted out of its natural shape by the contingencies of history. Rearrange it just a little and a simple mathematical pattern appears. To see this pattern, imagine that the periodic table is made out of beads on an abacus, arranged in the familiar U shape. The secret lives of Baba Segi’s wives de Lola Shoneyin est un livre qui lève un coin de voile sur l’épanouissement sexuel en l’occurrence celui de la femme. Ce travail vise à mettre en évidence la problématique de l’épanouissement sexuel de la femme dans une société où le multi partenariat est une évidence. L’étude aborde la question de l’homosexualité, un nouveau vice dans la communauté africaine. Ce travail se penchera sur la saga de la polygamie. J’ai exploré l’expression de la sexualité, ensuite il a été question d’explorer l’épanouissement sexuel dans un foyer polygame dans cet univers romanesque. Comment les partenaires arrivent-ils à s’épanouir si l’enfant qui vient consolider le couple n’existe pas ? Commentfont ceux qui n’arrivent pas concevoir ? Ce travail est aussi une exhortation à une éducation sexuelle afin d’éviter les revers du manque d’épanouissement sexuel dans les couples.

V £lanku smo predstavili pristop k analizi sen-timenta komentarjev hotelskih gostov s pomo£jo slovarjev in metode Naivni Bayes. Najprej smo zgradili slovarja sentimenta, ki sta vsebovala n-grame, ter njihove verjetnosti, da pripadajo pozi-tivnemu ali negativnemu razredu. Nato smo s po-mo£jo zgrajenih slovarjev klasificirali komentarje hotelov, pri £emer smo uporabili metodo Naivni Bayes. Pri klasifikaciji komentarjev s mo ra£u-nali klasifikacijske vrednosti o z. verjetnosti, da so posamezni komentarji pozitivni ali negativni. Komentarje smo klasificirali s p omo£jo unigra-mov in bigramov, ter rezultate primerjali z re-zultati iz literature. Pri unigramih smo dosegli natan£nost 0,92, pri bigramih je natan£nost zna-šala 0,80. Klasifikacijske v rednosti posameznih komentarjev smo si shranili, pri £emer smo pri komentarjih, ki smo jih klacificirali kot negativne, dodali negativen predznak. Predzna£ene klasifi-kacijske vrednosti smo nato sešteli, za vsak hotel ter na tak na£in izra£unali hotelom pripadajo£e to£ke. To£ke hotelov so v našem primeru poka-zatelj splošnega zadovoljstva hotelskih gostov, ki ga najdemo v komentarjih. Glede na to£ke smo hotele uredili po vrsti in prišli do lestvice hote-lov, pri katerih najdemo najbolj pozitivne komen-tarje.

Using primarily high flux oven-based metal source configurations small alkali (Li x , Na x , K x ), coinage (Cu x ,Ag x ), and group IVA (Si x ,Ge x ) metal clusters are being generated in supersonic expansions and agglomerating flows. Both the clusters and their oxidation to form the metal cluster oxides, M n O(n > 2), are being characterized using a combination of single and multiphoton laser fluorescent techniques, chemiluminescence, and mass spectrometry. Photodissociation studies on sodium trimer using laser-induced one- and two-photon atom fluorescence spectroscopy are now being extended to lithium trimer generating a bound-free mirror image spectroscopy which strongly complements the information obtained from bound-bound two-photon spectroscopy. Recent results obtained with an intense copper trimer source demonstrate an ability to (1) study fluorescence from strongly dissociative levels and (2) observe substantial temperature-dependent dynamic changes in spectral features associated with the fluxional nature of copper trimer. Using agglomerated cluster flows and taking advantage of previous experience in the study of chemiluminescent processes across a wide pressure range, we are probing the chemiluminescent emission resulting from the oxidation of small copper (Cu x + O3), silver (Ag x + O3), silicon (Si x + NO2, N2O,O3), and germanium (Ge x + O3, N2O) clusters. From these studies we have obtained the first quantal information on the energy levels and optical signatures of several metal cluster oxides and observed the manifestation of a unique dynamics associated with metal cluster oxidation processes.
