The title of the research is (The power of attraction in the pragmatic level at the functional theory), the research method is (analytical description), and we have taken the research materials from the everyday language of people. The importance of this study is that it highlights the process of attraction at one of the most important levels of language, the pragmatic level within the framework of function theory, which speakers constantly resort to in everyday life in order to express their meanings and intentions. This research is divided into two parts, the first part is (the force of attraction in the act of speaking), which we have explained this process theoretically, in this section we have discussed the factors affecting the force of attraction among speakers It is in the process of attractive force. The second section is entitled (Attraction at the Pragmatic Level Related to Function Theory). In this section, we have focused on these topics (Function Theory, Schools of Function Theory, Principles of Function Theory, Attraction from the Perspective of Function Theory). We have worked hard on it. The conclusions of this study showed that the Language is a major factor in the process of attraction, and attraction is an intentional act used by the speaker for a specific purpose A number of important factors such as (psychological, religious, political, etc.) are done for the success of the process. Attraction can be used positively or negatively, attraction can be in the interest of the agent and the agent, or vice versa. The theory of the function of attraction is one of the most important functions of language, which can be used by the speaker to influence the other person. Linking words, sentences and expressions to the environment is considered a major step to create a message effect on the other person, and a point to link the process of attraction to the pragmatic level, because the environment is a basis of pragmatic principles They depend on the context of use, as task theory has also pointed out.

Exposing students to carnivorous plants within course-based undergraduate research can heighten student interest in plants and create a foundation on which to build future student projects. Carnivorous plants derive nutrients by trapping animals, but unlike most other predators, they lack mobility and are thought to attract prey through a combination of visual and olfactory cues. As part of a semester-long undergraduate research project for a junior/senior-level plant ecology class, students used carnivorous plants and artificial traps to test the importance of visual cues in the capture of wild-type and visually impaired (w1118) Drosophila melanogaster. Over the 13-week semester, students worked in groups to generate questions, design experiments, analyze data, and present results both orally and in a written manuscript. A major focus was developing students' ability to compare their results with the literature. Upon completion, manuscripts were uploaded to a digital archive for use by future students in designing projects. This database of readily accessible past projects provides students with an accessible literature base that enables them to build upon previous work in a way that more accurately reflects real-world research.

We have experimentally demonstrated dissipative coupling in a double pendulum system through observation, which shows three distinctly different patterns of motion over the accessible parameter space. The described dissipative coupling apparatus is easy to manufacture and budget-friendly. The theoretical calculations are also suitable for the undergraduate level. Our experiment can serve as a novel demonstration for ubiquitous dynamic coupling effects encountered in many disparate physical systems. Unlike the well-known spring-coupled pendulums, our experiment employs Lenz's effect to couple the pendulums through electromagnetic damping, which, to the best of our knowledge, has not been demonstrated in the classroom. Our pendulums exhibit level attraction behaviour between two modes, induced by the dissipative coupling. This stands in contrast to the traditionally taught concept of level repulsion (avoided crossing) with spring-coupled pendulums. This experiment showcases distinctly different time domain dynamics of the dissipatively coupled pendulums over the parameter space, characterized by different oscillation patterns, damping rates, and relative phase between the two pendulums, which is a valuable lesson elucidating the dynamics of synchronization in linear systems for undergraduate students.

The development of tourist attractions is now highly influenced by social media. The speed at which information can be disseminated via the Internet has become an essential factor in enabling distinct tourist attractions to potentially gain high popularity in a relatively short time. This condition was not as prevalent several years ago when tourism promotion remained limited to a certain kind of media. As a consequence, rapid change in the relative popularity of tourist attractions is inevitable. Against this, knowledge of tourist attraction hotspots is essential in tourism management. This means there is a need to study how to both quickly determine the popularity level of tourist attractions and encompass a relatively large area. This article utilised tweet data from microblogging website Twitter as the basis from which to determine the popularity level of a tourist attraction. Data mining was conducted using Python and the Tweepy module. The tweet data were collected at the end of April and early May 2017, at times when there are several long holiday weekends. A Tweet Proximity Index (TPI) was used to calculate both the density and frequency of tweets based on a defined search radius. A Density Index (DI) was also used as a technique for determining the popularity. The results from both approaches were then compared to a random survey about people’s perceptions of tourist attractions in the study area. The result shows that geotagged tweet data can be used to determine the popularity of a tourist attraction, although it still only achieved a medium level of accuracy. The TPI approach used in this study produced an accuracy of 76.47%, while the DI achieved only 58.82%. This medium accuracy does indicate that the two approaches are not yet strong enough to be used for decision-making but should be more than adequate as an initial description. Further, it is necessary to improve the method of indexing and the exploration of other aspects of Twitter data.

Many captive Asian elephants (Elephas maximus) in Thailand participate in the tourism industry at attractions known as 'elephant camps.' There has been significant criticism of low welfare venues, where the elephants may experience injuries, poor nutrition, unnatural social environments and aversive handling. Despite increasing concern for animal welfare, the general public often have difficulty identifying the welfare issues affecting captive animals. The aim of this study was to investigate participants' willingness to support an elephant attraction and their perceived emotional value from the experience, based on the affective state of the captive elephant and their level of contact with it. Participants (n = 590) from the United States were randomly assigned to one of four vignettes (using a 2 × 2 experimental design) that described an elephant attraction, varying the affective state of the elephant (feels excellent, feels terrible) and the level of contact they could have with the elephant (low, high). A mixed methods approach was used, where participants provided answers to Likert-type questions, followed by an open-ended response. Participants showed greater willingness to support the elephant attraction and greater perceived emotional value from the experience when the elephant felt excellent, as opposed to when the elephant felt terrible. There were no significant differences between low and high contact for the measures included in this study. Qualitative responses varied greatly, with participants making many assumptions about the elephant and the attraction, revealing potential misconceptions that they had regarding the welfare of captive elephants. This research may be used to encourage a shift in tourism preferences to venues that reflect positive elephant welfare.

To stimulate the regional tourism economy, local governments often seek to increase the number of 5A-rated tourist attractions. However, there have been few analyses examining the economic benefits and influence mechanisms of 5A-rated attraction selection. Using the quality signaling theory and data from 282 prefecture-level cities spanning 2002 to 2019, this study examines the impact of 5A-rated attraction selection on the local tourism economy with the difference-in-differences method. This study’s results demonstrate that the selection of 5A-rated attractions significantly contributes to the growth of the local tourism economy. The robustness test results confirm the validity of this conclusion. A mechanism analysis reveals that 5A-rated attractions positively impact the tourism economy via investments in infrastructure, popularization of informatization, and increased external openness. Furthermore, the study suggests that the effect of 5A-rated attractions is more pronounced in economically underdeveloped regions and low-level cities. The results of this study contribute to the sustainable development of China’s tourism economy and may provide guidance for the establishment of tourism evaluation systems in other international locations in order to foster economic growth.

Cerme Cave is one of the objects of special interest tourist attraction which is used as one of the non-coastal tourism development projects by the dinas pariwisata kabupaten Bantul. This is done so that the distribution of tourists who visit, can be distributed evenly across all attractions in the Bantul regency. The decline in the level of tourist visits, limited attractions, and double levies has become an obstacle to the development of the Cerme Cave attraction, so a number of recommendations are needed to overcome and make these attractions sustainable. The research model used is qualitative through exploratory studies. The results showed that the problems that arose in these attractions include, dualism of management, the number of tourists being a priority, community participation is still low, lack of knowledge about tourism management in accordance with sustainable tourism management guidelines, do not have the intended target market, and marketing and limited promotions. Special interest tourism management strategies, including the targeted tourism segments must be clear, adequate human resource readiness in quality and quantity, facility development and accessibility in accordance with the landscape and tourist needs, promotions in accordance with the theme of tourist attraction attractions, so that the development strategy of Cerme Cave can be implemented optimally. Objective: This research aims to design a model for attracting mixed investments to promote business prosperity and economic growth in free trade zones, with a case study of the Arvand Free Trade Zone. Methodology: The research method was qualitative. Accordingly, data were collected through interviews with 14 university professors, experts, and managers from the Arvand Free Trade Zone. The sample size was determined using the snowball method, and the criterion for concluding the interviews was the rule of theoretical saturation. The data in the qualitative section were analyzed using the grounded theory method. In the first stage, 296 open codes were extracted, which, after methodological adjustments, were reduced to 182 open codes or concepts. Findings: These codes and concepts, in the next level of abstraction, were categorized into 46 sub-categories, which were ultimately condensed into 19 main categories. Conclusion: Finally, these concepts were identified in six sections: factors influencing mixed investment attraction (causal conditions), the structure of mixed investment attraction (central phenomenon), contextual factors affecting mixed investment attraction (contextual conditions), intervening factors influencing mixed investment attraction (intervening conditions), strategies for mixed investment attraction (strategies), and outcomes of mixed investment attraction (consequences). These concepts formed the research model.

The development of the attraction of tourist destinations is synonymous with management. The aim is that destination visited by tourists one of which is the development of attraction. In order to have real implications, the development of tourist attraction must be community-based, this makes sense because by the increase in attractiveness and by the increasing tourist visits it impacts on the economic, social and cultural community. This paper is based on the results of a survey conducted at Gesing Gunung Kidul Beach through exploration and observation methods on Gesing Beach tourist attraction and community involvement in it. Gesing Beach has natural attractions, cultural attractions and special interest tours that require management in order to increase tourist visit, but management is not yet fully based on the potential of the community due to the low level of education and public knowledge about tourism. Community involvement is limited to physical activities such as mutual assistance to repair roads, economic activities such as traditional food stalls. The cultural attractions that exist are only as annual routine activities for the remains of their ancestors. To further empower the community, it is necessary to synergize the three parties, namely the government, the private sector and the community itself, through the establishment of a network of cooperation, counseling, assistance, additional working capital. Addition to managerial insight in the tourism sector and the provision of working capital to fishermen, stall owners, organizations/community tourism groups.

Abstract Pronoun production involves at least two processes: (i) deciding to refer to a referent with a pronoun instead of a full NP and (ii) determining the pronoun’s form. In the present study, we assess whether the second of these processes occurs as a by-product of the first process—namely, does accessing the message-level representation of the referent provide access to the features required to determine pronoun form, meaning that pronouns should be robust to errors, or are pronoun features determined through an agreement operation with the antecedent, in which case they may be susceptible to agreement attraction, similar to subject–verb agreement. Prior lab experiments suggest that pronouns display number attraction at a similar rate to verbs. However, in contrast to verb attraction errors, there is no documentation of systematic pronoun attraction errors in corpora of natural speech. Our study builds upon prior lab work by eliciting pronoun sentences using a scene description paradigm that engages the pronominalization processes involved in natural speech. Across three experiments, we observed small but reliable number attraction effects for pronouns, suggesting that pronoun form is not always determined from the message-level representation of the referent. The elicited error rates were smaller than those previously observed for verbs in a similar scene-description paradigm; this smaller error rate helps to reconcile the apparent discrepancy between pronoun number attraction error rates observed in and outside the lab. The results suggest that pronoun form is determined (at least at times) through an agreement process referencing the features of the linguistic antecedent.

Using data from the 2007 and 2013 Law Enforcement Management and Administrative Statistics survey, the present study tests whether unfavorable contingencies (e.g., high cost of living, rigorous application standards) are related to officer compensation—pay, supplemental incentives, and reimbursements—within a sample of large metropolitan police agencies. Results are generally consistent with contingency theory, at least with respect to salaries. Departments offer higher salaries to offset more rigorous hiring standards, high costs of living, and other unfavorable contingencies. The article reveals the need to create alternative stock market that would open access to participation in the SME. Based on the experience of alternative securities markets in Europe, conclusions regarding the need for a stock exchange available to wider circles of consumers to increase their own capitalization and support the domestic stock market. In times of severe economic crisis, support for small and medium businesses is extremely important in Ukraine. One of the effective mechanisms for increasing the capitalization of enterprises is the attraction of stock exchange instruments in the stock market. But given the fact that the domestic stock market is in a systemic decline, most Ukrainian enterprises (especially those strategically important for the country's destinations, such as enterprises of the agro-industrial, metallurgical and mines-mining complex) choose foreign exchange platforms, in particular Warsaw (WSE) and London (LSE) Stock Exchanges. Due to the attraction of additional funds on foreign stock sites, Ukrainian companies managed to achieve a significant increase in their own capitalization. Today, the necessity of creating an alternative stock market in Ukraine is extremely important. This will provide an opportunity for the following: raising the level of development of the stock market of Ukraine; raising the popularity of stock instruments among enterprises and the population, which will provide preconditions for attracting temporarily free funds for the purpose of investing in the securities market; raising the capitalization of domestic enterprises through the attraction of exchange instruments; the emergence of opportunities for new small and medium-sized businesses to become involved in the stock sector; attraction of small and medium enterprises to the stock sector will make business in Ukraine more transparent, and more attractive both for domestic and foreign investors.

Purpose This paper aims to find a way to personalize attraction recommendations for travelers. The research objective is to find a more accurate way to suggest new attractions to each traveler based on the opinions of other like-minded travelers and the traveler’s preferences. Design/methodology/approach To achieve the goal, developers have created a personalized system to generate attraction recommendations. The system considers an individual traveler’s preferences to construct a qualitative attraction ranking model. The new ranking model is the result of blending two processes: K-means clustering and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). Findings The performance of the developed recommendation system has been assessed by measuring the accuracy and scalability of the ranking model of the system. The experimental results indicate that the ranking model always returns accurate results independent of the number of attractions and the number of travelers in each cluster. The ranking model has also proved to be scalable because the processing time is independent of the numbers of travelers. Additionally, the results reveal that the overall system usability is at a very satisfactory level. Research limitations/implications The main theoretical implication is that integrating the processes of K-means and AHP techniques enables a new qualitative ranking model for personalized recommendations that deliver only high-quality attractions. However, the designed recommendation system has some limitations. First, it is necessary to manually update information about the new tourist attractions. Second, the overall response time depends on the internet bandwidth and latency. Practical implications This research contributes to the tourism business and individual travelers by introducing an accurate and scalable way to suggest new attractions to each traveler. The potential benefit includes possible increased revenue for travel agencies that offer personalized package tours and support individual travelers to make the final travel decisions. The designed system could also integrate with itinerary planning systems to plot out a journey that pinpoints what travelers will most enjoy. Originality/value This research proposes a design and implementation of a personalized recommendation system based on the qualitative attraction ranking model introduced in this article. The novel ranking model is designed and developed by integrating K-means and AHP techniques, which has proved to be accurate and scalable.

Studying publication volumes at the country level is key to understanding and improving a country’s research system. PubMed is a public search engine of publications in all life sciences areas. Here, we show how this search engine can be used to assess the outputs of life science-related research by country. We have measured the numbers of publications during different time periods based on the country of affiliation of the first authors. Moreover, we have designed scores, which we have named Attraction Scores, to assess the relative focus either toward particular types of studies, such as clinical trials or reviews, or toward specific research areas, such as public health and pharmacogenomics, or toward specific topics, for instance embryonic stem cells; we have also investigated a possible use of these Attraction Scores through a correlation analysis with regulatory policies. We have weighed the statistics against general indicators such as country populations and gross domestic products (GDP). During the 5-year period 2008-2012, the United States was the country with the highest number of publications and Denmark the one with the highest number of publications per capita. Among the 40 countries with the highest GDPs, Israel had the highest publications-to-GDP ratio. Among the 20 countries with the most publications, Japan had the highest Attraction Score for induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells and Italy the highest proportion of review publications. More than 50% of publications in English were from countries in which English is not the primary language. We show an assorted and extensive collection of rankings and charts that will inform scholars and policymakers in studying and improving the research systems both at the national and international level.
