Tunes, Pedro Antunes Vivas. „Business planning in nonprofit: laying the ground for customer relationship management in Instituto de Empreendedorismo Social“. Master's thesis, NSBE - UNL, 2012. http://hdl.handle.net/10362/9622.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleWith a growing scope of business, IES felt the need to better structure its internal information and processes so a one-on-one communication strategy with its stakeholders, a key competitive advantage, could be maintained. This work project intends to lay the ground for CRM implementation in IES, reviewing the literature on relationship marketing and analyzing the environment and context in which the institute functions and its day-today operations. The results suggest that IES could benefit from the implementation of the Salesforce.com CRM cloud-based software, creating interrelated databases for its three main groups of stakeholders – social entrepreneurs, social initiatives and entities.

Bingula, Rea. „Non-small cell lung cancer, immunity and microbiota : laying ground for the gut-lung-lung cancer axis in human subjects“. Thesis, Université Clermont Auvergne (2017-2020), 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019CLFAS009.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleLung cancer is the main cause of death by cancer worldwide. Despite the variety of available treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and immune therapy, the average 5-year survival is 60%. One of the underlying reasons is a very high variability in patients’ susceptibility to treatment, explained by genetic background and since recently – our microbiota. The term microbiota includes bacteria, archaea, fungi, viruses and protists that inhabit our organism. The studies in animal models show that the gut microbiota (focused on bacteria) has a crucial role in host’s responsiveness to therapy through the stimulation of immune system. In this light, several “communication axes” between the gut and distal tumour sites have started to develop, including the “gut-lung” axis. However, the resident microbiota in the lungs that could directly influence the tumour response and interact with the gut microbiota has been scarcely characterised. To enable further development of the idea of the “gut-lung-lung cancer” axis, we included 18 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients eligible for surgery and analysed the microbiota from four different lung samples (non-malignant, peritumoural and tumour tissue and bronchoalveolar lavage fluid; BAL), saliva and faeces by high-throughput sequencing. We also analysed several immune markers, as lymphocytic tumour infiltrate, Th and neutrophil profiles and cytokines in BAL and blood, and inflammatory markers in faeces along with short-chain fatty acids. Focusing first on the lungs, we show that BAL microbiota represents a significantly distinct community compared to lung tissue microbiota by providing detailed characterisation of the four different lung samples. Since tumours in lower lobes are reported as the ones with the worse prognosis, we investigated how the lobe location affected the microbiota composition. Peritumoural tissue and BAL microbiota were identified as the most affected in both abundance and diversity, and tumour as the least affected. However, phylum Firmicutes, previously reported as elevated in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease compared to controls, was found more abundant in microbiota from lower lung lobes. Therefore, we propose that both increase in Firmicutes and extensive changes in peritumoural tissue could be associated to increased aggressiveness of the lower lobe tumours. Next, we show that the presence of metastatic lymph nodes (LN), negative prognostic marker in NSCLC, significantly influence the local tissue microbiota in relation to its respiratory profile. We reported that anaerobic bacteria were more abundant within the tumour in the presence of metastatic LN, and aerobic bacteria within the one without it. Moreover, exactly inverse was observed for the same bacteria in extratumoural tissues. Along with migratory hypothesis depending on the bacterial preference for growth conditions shaped by tumour’s features, we propose several biomarkers for detection of metastatic LN that might facilitate their detection without imposing LN biopsy. Finally, we showed that BAL microbiota is the most associated to the local immune response and independent of the presence of metastatic LN. Future research will focus on the exploration of the interaction between the lung microbiota, systemic immunity and the gut microbiota

Molinier, Rémi. „Cohomology with twisted coefficients of the geometric realization of linking systems“. Thesis, Sorbonne Paris Cité, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015USPCD021/document.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe aim of this work is to study the cohomology with twisted coefficients of the geometric realization of linking systems. More precisely, if (S, Ƒ, ℒ) is a p-local finite group, we work on the cohomology H*(\ℒ\, M) of the geometric realization of ℒ with coefficients in a Z(p)[π₁(\ℒ\)]-module M and its links with the Ƒᶜ-stables H*(Ƒᶜ, M) ⊆ H*(S, M) trough the inclusion of BS in \ℒ\. After we give the definition of Ƒᶜ-stable elements , we study the endomorphism of H*(S, M) induced by an Fc-characteristic (S, S)-biset and we show that, if the action is nilpotent- and we assume an hypothesis, we have a natural isomorphism H*(\ℒ\, M) ≌ H* (Fᶜ;M). Secondly, we look at p-solvable actions of π₁(\ℒ\) on M through the notion of p-local subgroups of index a power of p or prime to p. If the action factors through a p'-group, we show that there si also a natural isomorphism. We then work on extending this to any-p-solvable action and we get some positive answer then the p-local finite groupis realizable. Theses leads to the conjecture that it is true for any-p-local finite group and any-p-solvable actions. We also give some tools to study this conjecture on examples. We look at products of p-local finite groups with Kunneth Formula and linking system which can be decomposed in a way which behaves well with Mayer-Vietoris long exact sequence. Finally, we study essential subgroups of wreath productsby Cp. We finish with some examples which illustrate that, in general, we cannot hope an isomorphism between H*(\ℒ\, M) and H*(Ƒᶜ, M)

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe cable dynamics is modeled using the continuum approach. Using the model developed, the cable configuration and tension are obtained for the two dimensional steady state and transient motions, when different parameters such as the ship velocity, hydrodynamic constant, and current direction, are varied. Also, the out of plane angle of inclination and corresponding maximum displacement for the three dimensional steady state case are determined.
Then the possibility of controlling the cable oscillations by varying the payout rate is explored. In the case of the controlled response the results show that, in principle, the deviation of the in plane angle can be effectively reduced to zero, but the value of the input payout rate needed is unrealistic in practice.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleGiven the need for institutions managing natural resources that can be foundations for dealing with challenges like climate change, this dissertation examines more than 100 years of a water resource management system in the Western U.S., in the state of Wyoming. The dissertation identifies the key actors in this system as water users and the water administrators in the state government. The study determines that the Wyoming system distributes property rights in water between users and the state. The study finds that over a century the system has proved itself resilient towards its most longstanding users, in irrigated agriculture. However, the system has lacked a resilient response to new demands, particularly non-consumptive uses of water. In a contribution to theories of institutional change, the dissertation demonstrates the important role in natural resource management systems played by harsh physical conditions such as lack of precipitation, short growing seasons, and difficult terrain. These conditions can create path dependency and dictate the circumstances that allow path-breaking in natural resource management institutions.

Though currently bound by a purely horizontal logic and limited to fulfilling only the most basic provisions. the design of surface parking has significant latent potential. Taking from the rubber-stamped landscape strategies of municipal playgrounds found in urban America and the rubber-stamping strategies of big-box retail which are disseminated throughout the American suburban landscape, this thesis attempts to recover the surface parking lot by equating park and parking in a double-loaded program of 100 % PARK / 100% PARKING. With cues from the examination of play and game strategies, this thesis infuses the 'Lot' landscape with double meaning that attracts both the consuming and unassuming into a physical space of chance, strategy and play. As an adaptable cover with interwoven programs, the double-loaded the surface parking lot can then serve as a new landscape typology which responds to contextual situations and in turn sponsors new patterns of occupation.

Brooklyn's urban fabric is a redundant array of perimeter residential blocks, built out over the last 200 years as a layered accretion. Within each block is a core that is spatially unified yet distinct from the public front of the street. These spaces are defined by their enclosure yet this barrier is not entirely impenetrable. Each block possesses a few unique moments of slippage in which the perimeter mass opens up to reveal a slivered view into the depths, and potentials, of this internalized world. To the vast majority, including residents, these slivers and cores remain a visual phenomenon. The near-universal practice of extruding backyard parcel lines has created an architecture of division, namely the fence, closing off the yard from the block and the block from the neighborhood. This thesis proposes an alternative scenario, in which rear fences are removed and a thin line of public space is inserted into the mosaic of existing yards. The line, activated through a set of calibrated relationships with the ground and floating infrastructure, stitches together people within the open core and works against the detritus of old divisions. Through this intervention, a new grain emerges which connects Brooklyn's blocks and transforms the residual slivers into a network of spaces that open to an engaging, and unexpected, rendering of the pre-existing.
