This paper parades the effectiveness of conductive yarn resistor instead of carbon resistor by verifying the Kirchhoff’s voltage (KVL) & current (KCL) law. This research work enlightens about the sustainability of e-textiles on account of presenting characteristics of this conductive yarn resistor. Resistor is one of the most useful materials in the electrical laboratories. Generally resistor is made by carbon. Using carbon resistor is pernicious for our environment, society & cost. It is known that sustainability is the concerned area at present. Sustainable e-textile is one of the major need in material science .This quest indicates that point to boggle sustainable e-textile by inventing conductive yarn resistor verifying with most orthodox theory of Kirchhoff’s voltage & current laws. KVL and KCL are the most prominent theory in electrical science. Summation of KVL and KCL will be zero in any closed loop in this theory. The summation of KVL is also zero here and summation of KCL is also zero here. It can justify Kirchoff’s KVL & KCL theory.

Background. When studying the collection of watermelon, it is important to disclose its genetic potential by identifying spontaneous mutations, using its accessions in crosses, and analyzing inheritance of its main traits in hybrids. One of the priorities in watermelon breeding is to develop and produce genetic sources of bushy and short-vine forms with stable manifestation of their morpho-biological characters under various environmental conditions.Material and methods. Accessions from the watermelon collection (local landraces, commercialized and promising cultivars, hybrids and lines obtained in the process of work) of diverse ecogeographic groups served as the material for this research. Description of morphological characters and assessment of economically useful ones were based on the guidelines for studying and maintaining the cucurbit collection and the guidelines for cucurbit crop breeding, both developed by VIR.Results. Variability and inheritance of the bushiness and short vine characters were studied in watermelon accessions according to the features of their growth and development. The habitus of the bushy forms is shaped by the length of stems (0.8– 1.2 m) and very short (2–3 cm) internodes. Short-vine plant stems are 1.3–1.5 m long. Short-vine plants in the early period of development distinctly stand out for their compact bush, if compared with long-vine forms. Short vines are developed due to short internodes (4–5 cm) and a smaller number of lateral shoots.Conclusion. Many years of studying the watermelon collection in the field resulted in identification of promising genetic sources for the breeding of bushy and short-vine cultivars: bushy dissected-leaf lines (KRL) – KRL 694, KRL 656, KRL 376 and KRL 394; bushy entire-leaf lines (KTsL) – KTsL 760/13; yellow-green bushy dissectedleaf lines (ZhZKRL) – ZhZKRL; short-vine watermelon lines (KPL) – KPL 774 and KPL 368. The developed lines differ in morpho-biological and economically useful characters (yield,fruit quality, growing season duration, etc.). They possess resistance to diseases (fusarium wilt and anthracnose) and environmental stressors. The lines are offered for use in the breeding of new bushy and short-vine cultivars and improvement of the existing ones, with various combinations of morpho-biological and economic traits. Brief descriptions of main economically valuable characters of the breeding lines are presented.

In these experimental studies enhanced primary treatment in coarse media filters has been evaluated. The coarse media used in the filters have been plastic carriers normally used for moving bed bioreactors, a Kaldnes carrier K1 with density < 1 g/cm3 (K1L) and a bigger carrier K2, that was used both in a lighter, floating (K2L) version and a heavier, sinking one (K2H). The results demonstrated that media characteristics significantly influenced filter performance. The dosing of a high MW and high charge cationic polymer was, however, found to have an even greater effect on treatment efficiency and especially on head loss development. Both filters were found to be feasible for enhanced primary treatment at high filtration rates (20-30 m/h) especially when dosing low dosages (1-3 mg/l) of polymer. The combination of two media into a dual media filter might take the advantages of both. Further experiments were carried out on a dual media filter consisting of lighter K1L media and heavier K2H media. It was indeed found that the K1L+K2H up-flow filter resulted in better performances in terms of water production when an optimised backwash procedure was taken into account.

This paper introduces the work principle of single-phase SPWM H bridge inverter and builds up the mathematics model according to KVL and KCL. It can easy to observe nonlinear phenomena in the circuit after simulation the model. According to the characteristics of single-phase SPWM H bridge inverter, both resonant parametric perturbation and TDFC are good ways to eliminate chaotic behavior of inverter and made the system changing from chaos to stable period. It has a very important practical value and theoretical significance for stability design of single-phase SPWM H bridge inverter.

Smart building's benefits range from improving comfort of occupant, increased productivity, reduction in energy consumption and operating costs, lower CO2 emission, to improved life cycle of utilities, efficient operation of building systems, etc. [65]. Hence, modern building owners are turning towards smart buildings. However, the current smart buildings mostly are not capable of achieving the objectives they are designed for and they can improve a lot better [22]. Therefore, a new technology called, Internet of Things, or IoT, is combined with the smart buildings to improve their performance [23]. IoT is the inter-networking of things embedded with electronics, software, sensors, actuators, and network connectivity to collect and exchange data, and things in this definition is anything and everything around us and even ourselves. Using this technology, e.g. a door can be a thing and can sense how many people have passed it's sensor to enter a space and let the lighting system know to prepare appropriate amount of light, or the HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) system to provide desirable temperature. IoT will provide a lot of useful information that before that accessibility to it was impossible, e.g., condition of water pipes in winter, which helps avoiding damages like frozen or broken pipes. However, despite all the benefits, IoT suffers from being vulnerable to cyber attacks. Examples have been provided later in Chapter 1. In this project among building systems, HVAC system is chosen to be automated with a new control method called MPC (Model Predictive Control). This method is fast, very energy efficient and has a lower than 0.001 rate of error for regulating the space temperature to any temperature that the occupants desire according to the results of this project. Furthermore, a PID (Proportional–Integral–Derivative) controller has been designed for the HVAC system that in the exact same cases MPC shows a much better performance. To design controllers for HVAC system and set the temperature to the desired value a method to automate balancing the heat flow should be found, therefore a thermal model of building should be available that using this model, the amount of heat, flowing in and out of a space in the building disregarding the external weather would be known to estimate. To automate the HVAC system using the programming languages like MATLAB, there is a need to convert the thermal model of the building to a mathematical model. This mathematical model is unique for each building depending on how many floors it has, how wide it is, and what materials have been used to construct the building. This process is needs a lot of effort and time even for buildings with 2 floors and 2 rooms on each floor and at the end the engineer might have done it with error. In this project you will see a software that will do the conversion of thermal model of buildings in any size to their mathematical model automatically, which helps improving the HVAC controllers to set temperature to the value occupants desire and avoid errors and time loss which is put both into calculations and troubleshooting. In addition, a test environment has been designed and constructed as a cyber physical system that allows us to test the IoT- enabled control systems before implementing them on real buildings, observe the performance, and decide if the system is satisfying or not. Also, all cyber threats can be explored and the solutions to those attacks can be evaluated. Even for the systems that are already out there, there is an opportunity to be assessed on this testbed and if there is any vulnerability in case of cyber security, solutions would be evaluated and help the existing systems improve.

This thesis is focused on assessing the impact of retrofitting dielectric All Dielectric Self-Supporting Cable (ADSS) to existing MV overhead line. This type of optical cable is a means of future strengthening of the communication infrastructure of the distribution network. However, its mechanical properties are significantly different from the properties ACSR cable, due to which its installation can be problematic in terms of meeting the requirements of the PNE 33 3301 standard. In practical part, this work deals with the design of the ADSS installation on the existing MV line and the determination of its impact based on the assessment of the results of this design.

Kronisk Obstruktiv Lungsjukdom (KOL) är en av de vanligaste folksjukdomarna som dessutom ökar. Vanligaste orsaken till KOL är rökning. Allt eftersom sjukdomen utvecklas tilltar symtomen successivt och påverkar alla aspekter i det dagliga livet hos dem som är drabbade av KOL. Syftet med studien var att få fördjupad kunskap om hur personer med diagnosen KOL beskriver sitt dagliga liv. Metoden var en litteraturstudie som inkluderade vetenskapliga artiklar. Artiklarna som har använts har varit av olika karaktär, åtta stycken har en kvalitativ metod ansats och två stycken en kvantitativ ansats. Resultatet visar hur patienterna påverkas både fysiskt, psykiskt och socialt. Andningsbesvär var ett dominerande symtom hos deltagarna. Accepterande av sjukdomen och att göra det bästa av situationen är något som de flesta deltagarna försökt göra. Livskvaliteten har angetts som både bra och dålig. Ytterligare ett resultat som framkommit i sammanställningen är att KOL-grupper med utbildning är positivt för personer med KOL. Beroende av vilket stadium man är i sin KOL-sjukdom avgör hur man upplever sin livssituation.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is one of the most common ethnic diseases that furthermore are increasing. The most common cause to COPD is smoking. As the disease is developed the symptoms increases gradually and it influences all aspects of daily life for the person suffering from COPD. The aim with the study was to get deeper knowledge about how persons with COPD describe their daily living. The method was a literature review that included scientific articles. Eight qualitative and two quantitative articles have been examined. The results shows that the patients diagnosed with COPD are influenced by their disease physically, psychically and socially. Dyspnoea was the dominating symptom among the participants. Accepting the disease and making do as best as possible are strategies that most participants chose. Quality of life has been stated as both good and poor. Yet another result that becomes apparent is that educations in groups are positive for persons with COPD. The disease affects daily living depending on which stage the patient with diagnosed COPD is in.

Motivados por trabalhos anteriores que analisaram diferentes comportamentos entre cristais e filmes policristalinos, relacionados com a cristalinidade e a concentração de impurezas, neste trabalho investigamos métodos de obtenção e processamento de filmes de haletos alcalinos dopados. Durante este trabalho foi montado um sistema de evaporação que disponibilizou a utilização de duas fontes de evaporação para a produção de amostras: resistiva e via feixe de elétrons. Apresentamos uma comparação entre resultados de caracterizações dos filmes produzidos e de monocristais existentes na literatura. A fim de se obter filmes dopados com impurezas mono e divalente e, também, duplamente dopados, alguns métodos alternativos de processamento foram investigados. A partir da comparação entre os sistemas KCl:(In +, Tl+ e Cu+) determinamos a dependência da cristalinidade em função do tamanho do íon dopante. O efeito da temperatura do substrato durante a evaporação foi investigado para o sistema KCl:Tl+, e comparado com resultados obtidos em filmes submetidos a tratamentos térmicos. Para a obtenção de filmes do sistema KCl:Yb2+:CN-, a preparação dos materiais precursores é um aspecto muito importante a ser considerado, a fim de se reproduzir nos filmes propriedades similares às dos monocristais. Nesse sentido, para evaporação foram utilizados o próprio cristal e pastilhas dos sais precursores obtidas a partir de técnicas de processamento cerâmico. A caracterização óptica dos filmes foi feita através de espectroscopia de absorção óptica e luminescência. A morfologia foi observada através de microscopia eletrônica de varredura e de força atômica, e a estrutura determinada por técnica de difração de raios X
The present work has been motivated by previous research on doped alkali halides films, that had been compared with single crystals, yielding different features, wich were related to crystallinity and impurity concentration. Preparation and processing techniques of doped alkali halides polycrystalline films have been investigated in this work. Two different evaporation sources have been used for samples production: resistive and via electron beam gun. Main results presented here are used to compare single crystals and films. In order to prepare single and double doped films, we have also tried several processing methods. From investigation of KCl:Tl+ system we have determined crystallinity dependency with impurity ion size. The KCl:Tl+ system has been used to verify the effect of substract temperature during evaporation. Results have been compared with films submited to thermal annealing. To obtain double doped KCI:Yb2+ :CN- films, we were very careful with preparation of precursor materials, since we intended to reproduce single crystals physical properties. Then, we have used single crystal itself for evaporation, besides pressed power pieces from precursor salts, obtained from ceramics processing technique. Optical absorption and photoluminescence have been carried out to perform optical characterization of evaporated films. Morphology has been observed by atomic force microscopy and scanning electron microscopy, and film structure has been observed by X-ray diffraction technique

Kronisk obstruktiv lungsjukdom (KOL) leder till att lungornassyreupptagningsförmåga minskar och vanliga symtom är hosta och andnöd vidansträngning. Diagnostisering av KOL baseras på spirometri, menbehandlingsåtgärder bör utgå ifrån patientens fysiska förmåga och detta gerspirometri inte ett mått på. Det här examensarbetet har gått ut på att, utifrån enbefintlig step–test applikation som medicinsk teknik, forskning och utveckling harutvecklat, skapa en applikation som gör det möjligt att uppskatta KOL – patientersfysiska förmåga. Applikationen möjliggör test hemifrån vilket gör att patienternaslipper återkommande sjukhusbesök och den kan också komma fungera sommotivation för patienterna till att öka sin aktivitetsnivå. Applikationen kommer atttestas och utvärderas kliniskt.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) leads to a limitation of the flow of airto and from the lungs. Common symptoms of COPD are shortness of breath andchronic cough. Diagnosis of COPD is based on spirometry but treatment of COPDshould be based on the patients exercise capacity which spirometry correlates poorlywith. The aim of this project has been, that of an existing step test -application, developan application that makes it possible assess exercise capacity in patients withCOPD. The application enables testing away from hospitals and it may serve as motivationfor the patients to increase their physical activity.

Vägtransportsektorn står för en betydande del av de totala utsläppen av miljöfarliga ämnen. Av koldioxidutsläppen är andelen cirka 30 procent. Fordonstillverkningen utvecklas för varje år med förbättrade motorer som släpper ut mindre andel avgaser. Men antalet transporter på vägarna ökar. Det finns därför ett behov av att utbilda chaufförer till att köra mer miljövänligt, inte låta motorerna gå på tomgång mm. I dag ställs krav på chaufförerna av buss och lastbil att de ska ha ett yrkeskompetensbevis (YKB) för att kunna fortsätta inom sitt yrke. Detta är ett steg i rätt riktning för en bättre miljö på vägarna. Bra utbildade chaufförer innebär dessutom lägre bränsle- och däckkostnader för åkeriet. Men förutom en direkt styrning från myndigheterna behöver chaufförerna även se ett ökat pengaflöde i börsen för att en förändring ska kunna ske. De bör få ta del av besparingarna för åkeriet. Jag är intresserad av vad åkare och chaufförer anser om denna extra yrkesförarutbildning.Speciellt intressant är det delmål som handlar om sparsam körning. Genom intervjuer med ägare till tunga fordon vill jag få fram en bild av vad branschen anser.Av resultatet framgår att YKB är accepterad. Ingen av de intervjuade önskade att utbildningen skulle försvinna som krav för yrkeschaufförer. Fem av sex håller speciellt fram avsnittet om sparsam körning som mycket bra. Eftersom YKB-utbildningen är ny krävs det fortlöpande undersökningar för att se om chaufförerna och åkeriägarna fortsätter att ha ett positivt synsätt.

ZusammenfassungDie Kurzzeitpflege (KZP) und ihre Funktion standen bislang nur unzureichend im Fokus wissenschaftlicher Untersuchungen. Der Beitrag betrachtet die gesetzlich zugeschriebene Bedeutung der KZP und hinterfragt, inwieweit diese Versorgungsform einer sowohl präventiven als auch rehabilitativen Funktion gerecht wird respektive gerecht werden kann. Dazu wird vor dem Hintergrund des bestehenden sozialrechtlichen Rahmens der Fokus auf die quantitative Verfügbarkeit von KZP-Plätzen sowie auf die qualitative und inhaltliche Ausrichtung von Angeboten der KZP gerichtet. Wenngleich es an wissenschaftlicher Evidenz fehlt, lässt die Betrachtung der verschiedenen Organisationsformen der KZP vermuten, dass solitäre KZP-Einrichtungen der wichtigen Weichenstellerfunktion der KZP sowie einer präventiven und rehabilitativen Funktion am ehesten gerecht werden können. Demgegenüber stehen jedoch vielfach betriebswirtschaftliche und strukturelle Herausforderungen. Besonders mit Blick auf einen geriatrisch rehabilitativen Ansatz im Rahmen der KZP sind sozialrechtliche Hürden und in der Folge Versorgungsdefizite anzunehmen. Die Notwendigkeit für weitergehende Reformbemühungen wird bei der Darstellung von Möglichkeiten und Potenzialen zur Stärkung und Weiterentwicklung der KZP deutlich.

Abnormal prekallikrein (PK) levels in plasma can be due to decreased biosynthesis or increased activation either by surface-activated factor XIIa (e.g., in septicemia) or by other proteases (e.g., in pancreatites). To study the products of activation of PK in plasma, intact normal plasma and plasma exposed to either activating surfaces or factor XII fragment, was immunoblotted from SDS-gels. MAb 13G11 which recognizes purified PK, kallikrein (KAL) and the complexes of KAL with Cl-inhibitor (Cl-Inh) and α2macroglobulin (α2M) formed from purified proteins detected a doubLet (88- and 85-kDa) which comigrated with PK and KAL but was not visible in PK-deficient plasma. Transfer of either PK in normal plasma (25-125 ng) or KAL (50-300 ng) added to PK-deficient plasma was proportional to the amount of protein applied to the SDS-gels. Activation of plasma decreased the intensity of the PK bands with the formation of new bands with molecular weights similar to those of KAL-Cl-Inh and KAL-α2M. Identity was confirmed by MAb 4C3 (reacts with KAL-Cl-In, not with KAL) and a polyclonal antibody to α2M. Increase of incubation temperature from 24 to 37 increased KAL-Cl-Inh and decreased KAL-α2M. Addition of an excess of a2M before surface activation caused an increase of KAL-α2M complex and a decrease of KAL-Cl-Inh. Addition of an excess of Cl-Inh increased KAL-Cl-Inh and decreased KAL-α2M. In addition, activation of Cl-Inh-deficient plasma showed lower KAL-Cl-Inh and higher KAL-a2M than those when normal plasma was activated. When the deficient plasma was treated with CH3NH2 to inactivate α2M, an increase at KAL position was observed since no inhibitors were active. These studies indicate that 13G11 will be useful to detect changes in the distribution of PK, KAL, KAL-Cl-Inh and KAL-α2M associated with abnormal activation of PK and/or abnormal availability of inhibitors in disease.

Annotation:
Small data has been a barrier for many machine learning tasks, especially when applied in scientific domains. Fortunately, we can utilize domain knowledge to make up the lack of data. Hence, in this paper, we propose a hybrid model KRL that treats domain knowledge model as a weak learner and uses another neural net model to boost it. We prove that KRL is guaranteed to improve over pure domain knowledge model and pure neural net model under certain loss functions. Extensive experiments have shown the superior performance of KRL over baselines. In addition, several case studies have explained how the domain knowledge can assist the prediction.
