Auswahl der wissenschaftlichen Literatur zum Thema „Koechlin, Charles (1867-1950)“

Dans les années 1930, le compositeur Charles Koechlin (1867-1950) se découvre une passion pour le cinéma parlant ; outre ses articles sur le sujet, il a laissé des notes personnelles et des projets de scénarios et de musiques de film, allant jusqu’à concevoir des scénarios cinématographiques pour une musique qui n’existe pas et une musique pour des images qui n’existent pas — mais qui, dans son imaginaire, sont à la fois compatibles et de la plus haute tenue artistique. À cette passion s’ajoute celle qu’il éprouve pour les stars du cinéma et plus particulièrement pour l’actrice Lilian Harvey (1906-1968) ; Koechlin sublimera cet amour en musique et composera plus d’une centaine de pièces réunies dans les deux Albums de Lilian et dans Le portrait de Daisy Hamilton. Cet article tente une analyse des trois éléments cinématographiques — mouvement, ligne et expression — que Koechlin s’attache à transposer en musique dans ses « sketches pour un film imaginaire », et montre qu’au-delà des principes esthétiques qui l’animent, le compositeur trouve dans l’image sonore un matériau d’un dynamisme, d’une plasticité et d’une sensualité qu’aucune autre forme d’inspiration n’avait pu lui donner jusque-là.

Fondé sur l'analyse du Buisson ardent du compositeur français Charles Koechlin (1867-1950) d'après Jean-Christophe de Romain Rolland, le présent travail s'attache à montrer en quoi ce poème symphonique apparaît, dans la production de ce musicien, comme une " œuvre-testament ", réunissant les principaux aspects de son langage. Des écrits théoriques aux conférences radiophoniques, en passant par maints articles ou ouvrages concernant l'esthétique ou la technique musicale, la quasi-totalité des prises de position de Koechlin se reflète dans cette partition que l'auteur ne fit jamais jouer de son vivant, ce qui conduit finalement à s'interroger sur le degré d'achèvement de ce message testamentaire
Based on the analysis of Le buisson ardent written by the French composer Charles Koechlin after Romain Rolland's Jean Christophe, this study aims to show the importance of this symphonic poem in the work of the musician. It is like a testament gathering together the main aspects of his language. Expressed in works ranging from theoretical papers to radio conferences, and covering a large quantity of articles and studies on aesthetics and musical technique, almost all of Koechlin's views are reflected in this score. The composer never organised a performance of it in his lifetime, which leds one to question whether he thought that his testament was complete

Charles Koechlin was born November 27, 1867 in Paris; he died on December 31, 1950 in the south of France in Rayol-Canadel-sur-Mer. He was a French composer, theorist, and musicologist. His achievements are well known; however, his most famous works are "The Jungle Book" (La loi de la Jungle) and The Seven Stars' Symphony(film music). This dissertation is an analysis of his oboe sonata, which contains three parts: Koechlin's biography and his musical periods, a theoretical analysis, and a performance practice. Using these three approaches, we can understand the structure of this work and try to better understand some practical musical terms, such as interpretations of the melodies, performing techniques of the instrument, etc. This is also a chance to provide oboe players in Taiwan to know this exotic, special, amazing oboe sonata, which has only been performed once in Taiwan so far. Hopefully, this thesis can provide the reader some ideas and let the player better understand how to perform this amazing piece.  Chao-Hsiang Peng Oboe Recital Program: 1.A.
