To investigate the antihyperglycemic and antihyperlipidemic effect of Momordica charantia (Karala), the aqueous extract of the Karala fruit was tested on streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. Thirty six albino rats were used in the experiment, 30 diabetic and the remaining six as negative control (T1). Diabetes was induced by administering (injecting) STZ at dose of 55mg/kg body weight. Thirty diabetic animals were randomly divided into five groups such as diabetic control group (T2) without any application of treatment, and groups T3,T4,T5 and T6 were treated with aqueous extract of Karala fruits daily at the doses of 250, 500 and 750mg/kg and glibenclamide (at a dose of 5mg/kg body weight) respectively. The body weight was taken and blood samples were collected from individual animal to determine glucose levels at 15 day interval up to 90 days. In addition, Asparate Transaminenase(AST), Alanine Transaminenase(ALT), Alkaline Phosphatase(ALP), Total cholesterol (TCh) and Triglyceride (TGA) were determined at day 15 and at the end of the experiment. All three doses of Karala extracts reduced diabetic induced blood sugar and the reduction is comparable with standard glibenclamide (GLM) dose particularly with higher doses Karala extracts (500 and 750mg). Karala also prevented body weight loss due to induced diabetes as did by GLM treatment.. The treatment also resulted in a significant reduction of Asparate Transaminenase(AST), Alanine Transaminenase(ALT), Alkaline Phosphatase(ALP), Total cholesterol (TCh) and Triglyceride (TGA) activities of treated rats when compared to the STZ induced diabetic rats. Higher doses of Karala (500 and 750mg/kg) are as effective as standard GLM dose on measured variables. This study demonstrated that Karala has hyperglycemia and antihyperlipidemic effect against STZ induced diabetic rats. These findings open the possibility of using Karala extract to treat diabetic animal and human patients although further research is warranted. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3329/jesnr.v5i1.11550 J. Mannan Chinnandi's father Mudharsonai was the ruler of a small area called Vellalur (Vellalur is a town in Maellur taluka of Madurai district). Eghuvaka Nachia was born in the region of Sirukudi. Mudharsonai and Eghuvakka Nachiya get married. Both of them have a daughter named Karala Purantha Karuthavanam and twins named Peperumal and Chinnandi. Eghuvakka Nachiya's brothers give her some land as dowry during her marriage. Mudharsonai goes to cultivate the land given to him by his brothers-in-law. But the wives of his brothers-in-law prevents him to enter the land. Mudharsonai is killed by his younger brother-in-law. Eghuvaka Nachiya also dies after hearing about her husband's death. Karala Purantha raises her younger brother. His uncle was responsible for the death of his parents. Chinandi often clashes with his uncle’s family. He and his sister turn into a on the Madurai Alaghar temple hill. In the end, Peperumal destroys his uncle's family and turns him into stone next to his siblings. A. M. Sathyamurthy has published the story of Mannan Chinnandi. The purpose of this article is to explore the oral communication strategies learned in this story.

Land degradation is a pervasive environmental and “economic challenge of the present time, especially in developing countries. Soil erosion caused by water is considered as one of the major types of land degradation processes. Soil loss estimation and detection of soil erosion-prone areas are the most important for agricultural planning and various other land management plannings in the recent era. The amount of annual average soil loss was calculated by using the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) model. This model was popularized for identifying soil loss zone areas or zones and soil erosion risk areas. This study provided a creditable prediction of soil erosion and the probable soil erosion severity zones of Jalpaiguri Sadar Block in Jalpaiguri District, West Bengal. GIS Environment was used to create the raster layer in the RUSLE factors. RUSLE data layers including rainfall erosivity (R), soil erodibility (K), slope length and steepness (LS), cover management (C), and conservation practice (P) factors were calculated to account for the average annual soil loss of the study area. The results of this work show that the range of soil erosion is >100.00 tons hac-1year-1 to <25.00 tons hac-1year-1 while the amount of soil erosion is more in the upper part of the Jalpaiguri Sadar block, mainly along the right bank of the Tista river and the bank of the Karala river, because the soil texture is very loose in nature and the area also receive heavy rainfall. Therefore, the high level of risk of soil erosion can be checked through the processes of various soil conservation techniques.

In this paper we describe the verbs of falling in Karata, an Andic (<East Caucasian) language. Our research is based on the dialect of Karata which is spoken in the village of Karata (Akhvakhsky district, Dagestan, Russia). The semantic field of falling includes eight verbs. The verb t’araɬa ‘to fall down’ is the dominant one. It can be used in the majority of situations of falling. The remaining seven verbs are more specialized. They are used in the situations of falling which have special features. The verb karaɬa ‘to topple over’ describes the situation of falling from a vertical position. Some of the verbs can only be combined with special subjects of falling (e.g. only with humans). t’oraɬa ‘to drip’ and ͡tʃʷaχːaɬa ‘to fl ow’ describe the falling of water. The first verbal root, t’oraɬa ‘to drip’, describes the falling of small portions of water (e.g. of water drops). Furthermore, the root of this verb may be (partially) reduplicated: in Karata, (partial) reduplication has the semantics of so-called verbal plurality. The meaning of tʼor~t’-aɬa ‘drip~VPL-INF’ presupposes that there was a number of drips, not only one drip. The second verbal root for the falling of water, ͡tʃʷaχːaɬa ‘to fl ow’, describes the falling of water as a substance (i.e. as a mass noun). tort͡ʃʼːaɬa ‘to crash’ is special in that it implies that the falling occurred with a loud sound. It covers many falling situations, including falling from upside down and falling from vertical position. The verb χːeraɬa ‘to pour’ is used with friable substances (e.g. sand). baχːaɬa ‘to collapse’ describes falling with destruction of the subject of falling. Finally, giraɬa ‘to lay down’ specializes in falling of human subjects from a vertical position. Overall, there are two parameters are crucial for the system of verbs of falling in Karata: (i) a kind of the subject of falling (human vs. non-human, mass noun vs. countable noun) and (ii) a kind of the situation of falling (e.g. falling from a vertical position or falling with destruction of the subject of falling)

Frontline demonstration is the long-term educational activity conducted by agricultural scientists in a systematic manner on farmers’ field to show the worth of new practice/technology under the micro-farming situation. The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Ratnagiri had conducted the frontline demonstrations (FLDs) on oilseeds during 2011 to 2016. The KVK had organized 93 FLDs on Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) in two villages viz., Asage and Gawane and 26 FLDs on Niger (Guizotia abyssinica) in Gawane village from Lanja Block of Ratnagiri district. Therefore, the aim of present study was to determine the impact of frontline demonstrations (FLDs) on yield, adoption, varietal replacement of oilseed crops and its horizontal spread in Konkan region of Maharashtra state. To get the adequate size of the sample, 119 FLDs beneficiary farmers (93 Groundnut + 26 Niger) were selected as the sample for the present study. The study was conducted in experimental designs (Before-After and Control-Treatment) of social research. The findings showed that significant increase in the average yield of demonstration plot (20.57q ha-1) over the control plot (13.75 q ha-1) of groundnut crop. Average yield of niger was 2.75 q ha-1 , which increased to 3.11 q ha-1 in demonstration year. FLDs showed a positive impact on the adoption of production technologies in groundnut and niger. The ‘Local’ and ‘SB-11’ variety of groundnut were replaced by improved varieties such as ‘Konkan Trombay Tapora’, ‘TG 26’ and ‘Konkan Gaurav’. Similarly, improved ‘IGP-76’ and ‘Phule Karala’ varieties of niger replaced the ‘Local’ low yielding varieties. The area under improved varieties increased periodically. Thus, it can be inferred that FLD is an effective extension intervention to demonstrate the production potential of improved technologies in oilseed crops on farmers’ field. Therefore, it is recommended that the extension agencies engaged in transfer and application of agricultural technologies on farmer’s field should give priority to organize frontline demonstrations (FLDs) on cluster basis for harnessing the productivity potential of oilseed crops in the country.

Ayurveda is a science which cures the disease, it also helps in the prevention of diseases. According to our Acharya's 'Dadhi ' (curd) is Asheelaneeya Dravya. Dadhi is most common food content of Indian diet. Dadhi by its nature Amla-Rasa, Amla-Vipaka, Guru-Guna, Ushna-Virya and is Abhishyanda Karaka. It should not be consumed during Vasantha, Greeshma and Sharad Rutu. It should not be taken at night, which is the Nidana (Karana) for the manifestation of the Vyadhi (Karya). Hence the present retrospective case control study was taken to imply the Karya Karana Siddhanta with special reference to Dadhi as Nidana in the manifestation of Mukhapaka. Objectives: To study the implication of regular indulgence of Dadhi and to identify and comprehend the role of Dadhi as one of the important Nidana for Mukhapaka. Results: Results were drawn based on an observational study and Statistical analysis by Chi square test and Odds ratio. It shows highly significant results. Interpretation: This Case Control Study reveals that, regular consumption of Dadhi, could be risk factor for Mukhapaka. After discussing about types of the Dadhi and its properties, conclude that Dadhi has to be consumed by taking into account the type of Dadhi and individual's own Prakriti. Conclusion: Pitta Pradhana Prakriti persons are more susceptible to Mukhapaka. After discussing about types of the Dadhi and its properties, it can be concluded that Dadhi has to be consumed by taking into account the type of Dadhi and individual's own Prakriti.

One of the concepts that Hindus have in providing an understanding of harmonious life is the emergence of the concept of tri hita karana. This concept has been widely known by Hindus, because this concept has been taught from an early age in the elementary school level. Theoretically, tri hita karana sounds so simple that humans must be able to establish a harmonious relationship with God, fellow humans and the environment. But in reality this concept has not been widely applied in life, so it is still a mere theoretical discourse. This is evidenced by the many problems of human harmony who have religion as a way of life. Tri hita karana is a concept of universal harmony which does not only include God's creation, but includes all components of the universe. The historical traces of the emergence of the concept of tri hita karana to date have proven that this concept must be understood and internalized in human life to achieve peace and harmony.

Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah Konsep tri hita karana sebagai sebuah falsafah yang mampu memberikan manfaat bagi kehidupan bermasyarata terutama didalam pengelolaan organisasi berupa prinsip kebersamaan, keselarasan dan keseimbangan. Budaya lokal tri hita karana dalam pengelolaan dana desa di Desa Sudaji yang diterapkan dapat memberikan nilai etos kerja bagi aparatur desa. Selain itu, pencegahan kecurangan pada pengelolaan dana desa di Desa Sudaji mengadopsi budaya lokal tri hita karana sebagai penjaga atau pagar terdepan didalam pengelolaan dana desa.

Satria Agrowisata has application the Tri Hita Karana concept. The research aimed to analyzed the suitability between expectations and realities on the application of Tri Hita Karana at Satria Agrowisata, to analyzed the connection of application of Tri Hita Karana with management of Satria Agrowisata, and to analyzed satisfied visitors of Satria Agrowisata toward agrotourism activities with Tri Hita Karana application. Data of this research were used qualitative and quantitative. The research location is in Satria Agrowisata was chosen by purposive. The researchs were used two types of sampling methode such as census sampling and accidental sampling. Collection of data in the research were used several methods such as observations, interviews, and documentations. To analyzed the data, the research were used descriptive qualitative analysis method and Rank Spearman correlation. The results of the researchs were show the suitability between expectations and realities on the application of Tri Hita Karana at Satria Agrowisata is very suitable. The connection between Tri Hita Karana and management in agrotourism is very weak. Visitors of Satria Agrowisata were very satisfied with agrotourism activities in Satria Agrowisata which Tri Hita Karana application. The suggestions are to continue the application of Tri Hita Karana in activities agrotourism, to improve the connection between the application of Tri Hita Karana and management at the Agrotourism, and Satria Agrowisata needs to improve the quality of their service and add varieties of drinks and foods.

Therefore, this research becomes very important in order to reveal the Nata Mudra Karana Dance Procession in the Melasti Di Ceremony Balekambang Beach, Malang Regency and its influence on Hindus in Malang Regency. This research reveals the form of function and meaning contained in the Nata Mudra Karana Dance. The theory used in this research is Religious Theory to examine the formulation of the first problem. Functional Structural Theory ( Talcott Parsons ) to examine the formulation of the second problem. Symbol Theory and Aesthetic Theory to examine the formulation of the third problem. This type of research is qualitative with Hindu theological approach. The result of this research is the procession of Nata Mudra Karana Dance starting from the form of staging, preparation of infrastructure, place and time of implementation and procession of Nata Mudra Karana Dance. The Nata Mudra Karana dance has the following functions : (1) Religious function (2) Social function (3) Cultural preservation function (4) Entertainment function. The peace treaty between hadrat Hasan and hadrat Muawiya brought peace to a new Islamic state. According to it, the authority was supposed to be given to hadrat Hasan after hadrat Muawiya, who could not name the commander of the faithful after himself. However, hadrat Muawiya did not adhere to the treaty, but introduced a hereditary monarchy and named his son Yazid as the heir to the throne. Hadrat Husain could not acknowledge him as the new caliph, since it would have presented a violation of the peace agreement. Thus, the Kufians offered to acknowledge hadrat Husain as the caliph. However, they betrayed him and left him to Yazid's army who carried out the massacre of the noble family (Ahlul-Bayt) of the Prophet of Allah (p.b.u.h.) in Karbala. On the other hand, the Prophet of Allah (p.b.u.h.) had clearly foreshadowed the establishment of a monarchy after the period of righteous caliphs, as well as the hadrat Husain’s death. This event at Karbala presents the confirmation of the value of the Day of Ashura, marked by the Prophet of Allah (p.b.u.h.) due to its specific exceptionality. Hadrat Husain was chosen on the chosen day for the chosen death, i.e. the death on the Allah's way (shahadah). Islamic scholars, such as Es-Sujuti and Ibn Taymiyyah, consider it completely justified to imprecate Yazid for the murder of hadrat Husain, the massacre on Ahli-Bayt, and the desecration of Medina and Makkah.

Aber auch ohne diese – für das Renommee der öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunkanstalten und das Image des MDR belastenden – Vorgänge steht die gesamte Medienbranche und mithin auch der MDR vor einem tiefgreifenden und geradezu umbruchartigen Wandel. Wie den anderen „Playern“ geht es dem MDR darum, im Zeichen der Digitalisierung und allumfassenden Vernetzung seine Organisation und Strategie anzupassen und sich der radikal veränderten Wettbewerbs- und Angebotssituation zu stellen. Es geht auch darum, die Identität des MDR als einer gemeinnützigen öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunkanstalt in einem erheblich raueren ökonomischen Umfeld zu gewährleisten. Neue Programmkonzepte, die kritische demographische Struktur der Zuschauerschaft, Qualitätsmanagement, crossmediale Herstellungskonzepte, Markenbildung, die Rolle von Werbung und Sponsoring oder die Flexibilisierung der Organisationsstrukturen sind nur einige Beispiele für die enormen Herausforderungen, vor denen der MDR steht.

The subject of this article is the Symphonie – Scalenia [Symphonies – Unifications] series contained in the juvenilia volume of Karol Wojtyła’s poetry entitled Psałterz Dawidów (Księga Słowiańska) [The Psalter of David (The Slavonic Book)]. The author, focusing on the semantics of the term “symphony,” points to those literary traditions from which the concept of combining literary and musical genres can be derived, especially the romantic correspondance des arts. Following this lead, the article shows that the poem Mοuσικη [Music] can be understood as the literary equivalent of a sonata-allegro. Above all, however, the author is interested in the very idea of the “symphony” in Wojtyła’s approach, which evolved in the later writings of John Paul II on music. The Pope’s favouring of the art of sounds as a mystical “speech without words,” which enables the harmonious combination of the human and the divine, is here presented as the transformation of his youthful idea of a “symphony” as comprehended in mediatorial terms (“merging,” “reconciliation,” “connecting”).

This article analyzes a fresco from the ninth or tenth century preserved in a sepulchre church at Guzelyurt (ancient Karbala) in Cappadocia. Two officers of the Byzantine army, Leon, a skribon, who is buried there, and Michael, a turmarch, are depicted on horseback, in keeping with the iconographic scheme of representing holy horsemen. They are attacking an infantryman depicted between them. The infantryman has driven his dagger into the breast of Michael's horse. The text provides a historical background and an iconographic interpretation of the composition. It is a commemorative representation of two soldiers who probably died in battle. Compositions celebrating military activities and justifying the killings committed in war were of special importance in the region at a time when the military played a major role in defending the empire. .

This beautifully produced work provides a gendered reading of the centralityof the Karbala commemorations among Shi`i communities. There isa strong Persian(ate) bias in the selections (only two papers really deal withpractices in an Arab context). However, it represents the maturity of the stateof Shi`i studies, having moved beyond the sensationalism of political obsessionsfollowing the Iranian revolution of 1979 and the textually basedOrientalism of an earlier generation to considerations of actual practices,performances, understanding of texts, and enactments of doctrines. The Women of Karbala is a significant contribution to the study of Shi`iIslam in practice. Most of the papers are based on anthropological fieldworkin majoritarian communities. The collection could have benefited from somemore historical studies (there are two studies on the Qajar period), textualstudies, and examinations of Arab communities, as well as the increasingsignificance of the Shi`i diasporic communities in Europe and North America(one paper does nod in that direction). Another feature that would haveenhanced the collection would be to interpret Shi`i more widely. An integrated assessment of morphometric parameters has been conducted in this study with an objective of to develop the watershed and manage the available water resources in a hard rock terrain area at Karkala Taluk, Karnataka. According to the analysis of the Karkala micro-watershed, which is classified as closed basin with third-order dendritic drainage pattern, the watershed has a dense canopy of vegetation, a low relief, minute runoff, and a high infiltration rate. Drainage patterns are not greatly affected by geological structures. The basin's elongated shape is supported by the form factor, circulation ratio, and elongation ratio numbers. The Karkala micro-watershed's longitudinal profile exhibits a sharp gradient in the initial stages that has been progressively flattening as the river has weakened. Hypsometric integral found for the Karkala micro watershed is 0.5, showing the maturity stage of the basin. Low values for drainage density and texture, stream frequency, and infiltration number suggest that permeable rocks are underling and this controls the runoff in study area. Therefore, the integrated results of the morphometric assessment at the micro watershed level would be helpful for developing and managing water resources as well as for water harvesting.

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh pengendalian internal dan sistem informasi akuntansi kinerja pengurus koperasi di Kecamatan Melaya dengan Budaya Tri Hita Karana sebagai variabel moderasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling accidental dengan jumlah responden yang dijadikan sampel penelitian sebanyak 78 orang. Penelitian menggunakan teknik analisis data structural equation modeling (SEM). Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa pengendalian internal, sistem informasi akuntansi dan budaya Tri Hita Karana berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pengurus. Budaya Tri Hita Karana mampu memoderasi hubungan antara pengendalian internal dengan kinerja pengurus, artinya hubungan pengendalian internal terhadap kinerja pengurus diperkuat oleh budaya Tri Hita Karana. Sedangkan, budaya Tri Hita Karana tidak mampu memoderasi hubungan antara sistem informasi akuntansi dengan kinerja pengurus.

Permasalahan dalam artikel ini berpusat pada : 1) Bagaimana bentuk rancangan kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat Tonja berbasis Tri Hita Karana dalam pembangunan pariwisata?.; 2) Bagaimana bentuk implementasi filosofi Tri Hita Karana dalam rangka pemberdayaan masyarakat Tonja sehubungan dengan pembangunan pariwisata?. Artikel ini diselesaikan secara kualitatif. Semua data berhasil dikumpulkan melalui studi pustaka dan proses observasi partisipasi di Denpasar. Semua data dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan teori simbol dan resepsi. Hasil menunjukan bahwa : 1) Filosofi Tri Hita Karana terimplementasi dalam program pengabdian masyarakat berlingkungan hijau, bersih dan sehat. Aplikasi filosofi Tri Hita Karana dalam rancangan kegiatan pemberdayaan masyarakat Tonja terlihat pada bagian pendahuluan, tujuan, khalayak sasaran dan susunan acara dalam usulan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat berlingkungan hijau, bersih dan sehat. 2) Pengamalan filosofi Tri Hita Karana dilakukan melalui kegiatan bersih-bersih fisik, sosialisasi kebutuhan wisata, sumbangan alat kebersihan dan bibit tanaman serta melakukan persembahyangan bersama di kelurahan Tonja sebagai usaha untuk mewujudkan lingkungan kelurahan Tonja yang bersih, hijau, sehat serta kondusif untuk perkembangan pariwisata.

This study was conducted to elucidate the mechanism underlying the hypolipidemic action of karaya saponin or Rhodobacter (R.) capsulatus. A total of 40 laying hens (20-week-old) were assigned into four dietary treatment groups and fed a basal diet (as a control) or basal diets supplemented with either karaya saponin, R. capsulatus, or both for 60 days. The level of serum low-density-lipoprotein cholesterol and the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides in the serum, liver, and egg yolk were reduced by all the supplementations (). Liver bile acid concentration and fecal concentrations of cholesterol, triacylglycerol, and bile acid were simultaneously increased by the supplementation of karaya saponin, R. capsulatus, and the combination of karaya saponin and R. capsulatus (). The supplementation of karaya saponin, R. capsulatus, and the combination of karaya saponin and R. capsulatus suppressed the incorporation of from -palmitic acid into the fractions of total lipids, phospholipids, triacylglycerol, and cholesterol in the liver in vitro (). These findings suggest that the hypocholesterolemic effects of karaya saponin and R. capsulatus are caused by the suppression of the cholesterol synthesis and the promotion of cholesterol catabolism in the liver.

The Karaha Bodas and Talaga Bodas are two geothermal fields which are located in Tasikmalaya, West Java. The Karaha Bodas and Talaga Bodas fields have geothermal prospects with the discovery of several surface manifestations in the form of hot springs, fumaroles, and acid lakes. The orientation of the structure that developed in the two fields showed a different orientation. However, no research explains the relationship between the geothermal system in the Karaha Bodas field and the Talaga Bodas field, and the potential of Cipacing and Pamoyanan. The survey location is in Garut and Tasikmalaya, West Java. The investigation method used is qualitative (morphostructure analysis) and quantitative (hydrogeochemical analysis) methods. Data processing using DEM (Digital Elevation Model) for morphostructure analysis, and water chemistry from the Karaha Bodas, Talaga Bodas, and Cipacing fields for hydrogeochemical analysis. The analysis shows that the relationship between the Karaha Bodas and Talaga Bodas geothermal systems is typical a geothermal system, with having two different heat sources, the Talaga Bodas field as an upflow zone, and the Karaha Bodas field with Cipacing and Pamoyanan potentials as an outflow zone.Keywords: Conceptual model, geothermal system, hydrogeochemical, Karaha Bodas, morphostructure, Talaga Bodas.

Tri Hita Karana is a Balinese philosophy of life that contains three elements that build a balance and harmonious relationship between humans and God (Parahyangan), fellow humans (Pawongan) and nature (Palemahan). Village tourism is part of a form of tourism, where a small group of tourists live in or near traditional life. Penglipuran Village is one of the tourist villages in Bali which is still thick with traditional life, customs and cultural preservation. The purpose of this study was to find out how the application of the teachings of Tri Hita Karana in the tourist village of Penglipuran and how the behavior of the people of Penglipuran Village in developing a tourist village with Tri Hita Karana as the ideology of Balinese life. The research method used is a qualitative research method using data collection methods of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study are that Penglipuran Village meets the criteria as a tourist village with the Tri Hita Karana ideology. Tri Hita Karana is used as an ideology in social life, but not only in the community but can be used as the development of the Penglipuran tourist village. The local community implements the Tri Hita Karana ideology in carrying out their daily lives which makes Penglipuran Village prosperous with the three elements of Tri Hita Karana that work together to achieve harmony in life. The implementation of Tri Hita Karana in Penglipuran Village which is still maintained until now has an impact on the development of the Penglipuran Tourism Village with various traditions/customs as well as the wealth and natural beauty that it has, making Penglipuran Village a Tri Hita Karana-based Tourism Village.

Knowledge, experience and professionalism of an architect is very much needed in translating an idea and desire of the owner and implementing oneself in the use of the environment and socio-culture of the local community, so that the design is comfortable, safe, energy efficient, economical and environmentally friendly. An architect must play a role and have a strategy to realize and apply the concepts that already exist in Bali to the fullest, so that Bali's viability can still be maintained.. Tri Hita Karana berarti tiga penyebab kebahagiaan yang tercipta dari hubungan harmonis antara manusia dan lingkungan alam (Palemahan), manusia dan lingkungan sosial masyarakat (pawongan), manusia dan lingkungan spiritual/Tuhan (Parhayangan). Salah satu upaya implementasi konsep Tri Hita Karana dalam bidang pariwisata adalah melalui kompetisi dan akreditasi tahunan pariwisata ramah lingkungan dalam perspektif Tri Hita Karana tourism Awards and Accreditations-THK Awards yang telah dilaksanakan sejak tahun 2000. Peran seorang arsitek dalam mewujudkan Tri Hita Karana tourism Awards and Accreditations sangat diperlukan terutama dalam mewujudkan dua dari 3 aspek Tri Hita Karana tourism Awards and Accreditations yaitu perencanaan dan pembangunan sebuah hunian villa. Pengetahuan, pengalaman dan sikap profesionalisme seorang arsitek sangat dibutuhkan didalam menterjemahkan sebuah ide dan keinginan dari owner dan mengimplementasikan diri dalam pemanfaatan lingkungan dan sosial budaya masyarakat setempat, sehingga terwujud rancangan yang nyaman,aman, hemat energi, ekonomis serta ramah lingkungan. Seorang arsitek harus berperan dan mempunyai strategi untuk mewujudkan dan menerapkan konsep-konsep yang telah ada di Bali secara maksimal, sehingga keajegan Bali masih bisa dipertahankan.

Guru memegang peranan penting dalam pendidikan untuk mengembangkan aspek kognitif (pengetahuan), afektif (sikap) psikomotorik (keterampilan) siswa. Oleh karena itu, guru tidak hanya dituntut untuk mampu menransfer pengetahuan, tetapi guru juga dituntut untuk dapat memberikan pendidikan karakter kepada siswa. Salah satu guru yang identik dengan pendidikan karakter yaitu guru Pendidikan Agama Hindu dan Budi Pekerti karena dalam pembelajarannya guru Pendidikan Agama Hindu dan Budi Pekerti dapat memberikan wejangan dan menyampaikan ajaran agama Hindu yang dapat diimplementasikan untuk mengembangkan karakter siswa. Salah satu ajaran yang dapat diimplementasikan untuk mengembangkan karakter baik yang telah ada dalam diri siswa yaitu ajaran Tri Hita Karana. Adapun masalah yang akan dibahas antara lain (1) Bagaimana strategi guru Pendidikan Agama Hindu dan Budi Pekerti dalam mengimplementasikan ajaran Tri Hita Karana untuk mengembangkan karakter siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Bangli? (2) Nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter apa saja yang dikembangkan melalui pengimplementasian ajaran Tri Hita Karana di SMP Negeri 1 Bangli? (3) Bagaimana dampak pengimplementasian ajaran Tri Hita Karana terhadap pengembangan karakter siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Bangli. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi yang akurat dan gambaran yang objektif mengenai peranan guru Pendidikan Agama Hindu dan Budi Pekerti dalam mengembangkan karakter siswa melalui ajaran Tri Hita Karana, sehingga dapat memberi pemahaman kepada para pembaca terkait pentingnya ajaran agama Hindu untuk mengembangkan karakter siswa. Jenis penelitian kualitatif, dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Teori yang digunakan untuk menganalisis masalah yaitu: teori behavioristik dari Gege dan Berliner, teori karakter dari Thomas Lickona, dan teori motivasi dari Abraham Maslow. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu Guru Pendidikan Agama Hindu, siswa dan Kepala SMP Negeri 1 Bangli. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu: observasi, wawancara, studi kepustakaan dan studi dokumentasi. Data yang telah terkumpul dianalisis dengan metode analisis deskriptif kualitatif dengan langkah-langkah: reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) Strategi guru Pendidikan agama Hindu dan Budi Pekerti dalam mengimplementasikan ajaran Tri Hita Karana untuk mengembangkan karakter siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Bangli yaitu dalam penanaman ajaran Tri Hita Karana guru Pendidikan Agama Hindu dan Budi Pekerti menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif (cooperative learning) dengan pendekatan saintifik, metode ceramah dan diskusi, serta strategi pembelajaran kooperatif. Adapun strategi guru Pendidikan Agama Hindu dalam mengembangkan karakter siswa melalui ajaran Tri Hita Karana di SMP Negeri 1 Bangli yaitu: menanamkan ajaran Tri Hita Karana kepada siswa melalui pembelajaran di kelas dan di luar kelas, mengajak siswa terjun ke acara-acara terkait pengimplementasian ajaran Tri Hita Karana, dan melaksanakan program penguatan karakter siswa terkait ajaran Tri Hita Karana. Peranan guru Pendidikan Agama Hindu dan Budi Pekerti dalam mengimplementasikan ajaran Tri Hita Karana untuk mengembangkan karakter siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Bangli yaitu: guru Pendidikan Agama Hindu dan Budi Pekerti sebagai pengajar untuk menanamkan ajaran Tri Hita Karana, guru Pendidikan Agama Hindu dan Budi Pekerti sebagai pendidik karakter siswa, dan guru Pendidikan Agama Hindu dan Budi Pekerti sebagai motivator, tauladan dan pemberi contoh dalam pengimplementasian ajaran Tri Hita Karana. (2) Nilai-nilai pendidikan karakter yang dikembangkan melalui pengimplementasian ajaran Tri Hita Karana di SMP Negeri 1 Bangli yaitu: religius, jujur, toleransi, disiplin, kerja keras, kreatif, mandiri, demokratis, rasa ingin tahu, semangat kebangsaan, cinta tanah air, menghargai prestasi, bersahabat (komunikatif), cinta damai, gemar membaca, peduli lingkungan, peduli sosial, dan tanggung jawab. (3) Dampak pengimplementasian ajaran Tri Hita Karana terhadap pengembangan karakter siswa di SMP Negeri 1 Bangli yaitu: berkembangnya karakter siswa, meningkatnya kesadaran siswa untuk menjalankan ajaran agamanya, meningkatnya kepedulian siswa terhadap sesama, meningkatnya kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan, dan terciptanya keharmonisan.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) Pengaruh model pembelajaran Role Playing berbasis Tri Hita Karana terhadap keterampilan komunikasi siswa. 2) Pengaruh model pembelajaran Role Playing berbasis Tri Hita Karana terhadap hasil belajar IPS. 3) Pengaruh model pembelajaran Role Playing berbasis Tri Hita Karana terhadap keterampilan komunikasi dan hasil belajar IPS siswa. Penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Populasi yang digunakan adalah siswa V SD Gugus VIII Kecamatan Buleleng. Sampel diambil dengan teknik random sampling. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD Negeri 3 Penarukan sebagai kelompok eksperimen dan siswa kelas V SD Negeri 1 Penarukan sebagai kelompok kontrol. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik nontes berupa unjuk kerja dalam mengukur keterampilan komuniksi dan tes berupa esay untuk mengukur hasil belajar IPS. Data dianalisis menggunakan MANOVA. Hasil analisis yang diperoleh yaitu: 1) Terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Role Playig berbasis Tri Hita Karana terhadap keterampilan komunikasi. (F= 83,11 sig<0,05). 2) Terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Role Playig berbasis Tri Hita Karana terhadap hasil belajara IPS (F= 85,48 sig< 0,05). 3) Terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran Role Playig berbasis Tri Hita Karana terhadap keterampilan komunikasi dan hasil belajar IPS (F=70,292 sig<0,05). Berdasarkan penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Role Playing berbasis Tri Hita Karana mempengaruhi keterampilan komunikasi dan hasil belajar IPS siswa kelas V.

Tri Hita Karana merupakan salah satu kearifan lokal Bali yang dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Integrasikan nilai-nilai Tri Hita Karana ke dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dipercaya dapat memberikan dampak yang positif bagi siswa. Oleh karena itu, studi ini akan membahas tentang bagaimana nilai-nilai Tri Hita Karana diintegrasikan ke dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris dan juga manfaat yang didapat oleh siswa. Studi ini merupakan studi pustaka yang mana data berasal dari sumber data sekunder berupa buku, artikel ilmiah, catatan, dan laporan yang terkait dengan Tri Hita Karana, kearifan lokal, nilai, budaya, dan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Data yang dikumpulkan dengan cara membaca, mencatat dan menyusun informasi selanjutnya dianalisi dan dipaparkan secara deskriptif perskriptif. Adapun hasil dari studi pustaka ini menyatakan bahwa nilai-nilai Tri Hita Karana dapat diintegrasikan ke dalam instruksi pembelajaran, materi pembelajaran, topik pembelajaran, strategy pembelajaran, dan juga aktivitas pembelajaran. Dengan mengintegrasikan Tri Hita Karana ke dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris, siswa mampu berbahasa inggris dengan baik tanpa kehilangan identitasnya. Integrasi nilai-nilai Tri Hita Karana ke dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris juga efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa siswa. Selain itu, karakter dan keterampilan abad 21 seperti keterampilan berbicara, berfikir kritis, bekerjasama, dan kreatif juga dapat berkembang dengan baik.

Objek investasi pariwisata di Bali yang sesungguhnya berakar dari nilai-nilai budaya agraris semakin terancam terlihat dari praktik investasi pariwisata yang semakin inkonsisten dengan fisolofi Tri Hita Karana. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji keberadaan hukum investasi dalam pembangunan investasi pariwisata di Bali dalam kaitannya dengan nilai-nilai dan prinsip Tri Hita Karana. Metode yang dipergunakan adalah metode penelitian hukum doktrinal, dengan pendekatan perundang-undangan serta pendekatan konsep, serta dianalisis secara kualitatif. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa pembangunan investasi pariwisata di Provinsi Bali inkonsisten dengan nilai filosofi Tri Hita Karana, yang ditandai kian menghilangnya pariwisata budaya itu sendiri. Capaian investasi pariwisata di Propinsi Bali yang sangat fenomenal, diikuti oleh keberantakan nilai, norma, struktur dan sumberdaya ekonomi akibat tata nilai liberalistik dan individualistik yang melekat pada hukum investasi. Filosofi Tri Hita Karana mengedepankan prinsip-prinsip kebersamaan dan keseimbangan, sudah seharusnya kepariwisataan di Bali dengan budaya sebagai kekhasan utama, keunikan geografis, dan kehidupan ritualitasnya konsisten dengan Tri Hita Karana. Tri Hita Karana menjadi semacam komitmen nilai tentang pemahaman mengenai hidup, bagaimana hidup harus dijalani, serta konsensus dasar yang menuntun hidup bersama. Pengaturan hukum investasi tidak akomodatif terhadap ideologi Tri Hita Karana., meskipun dalam Peraturan Daerah maupun falsafah pembangunan Provinsi Bali ditegaskan Tri Hita Karana merupakan penuntun pembangunan Bali. Akibatnya, terjadi inkonsistensi penerapan hukum, yang bermula dari regulasi hukum investasi yang hanya sekedar mementingkan sinkronisasi vertikal dengan peraturan yang lebih tinggi atau di bawahnya, dan harmonisasi dengan peraturan perundangan sederajat. Solusinya, penting adanya konstruksi hukum Peraturan Daerah semi-otonom.
