In the late nineteenth and early twentieth-century Bengal emerged a new batch of educated widows who were distinguishable from the traditional Bengali Hindu widows because of their remarkable self-consciousness about their peripherality within the social order. The intention of my article is that of disputing the prevalent assumption of the homogeneity of the widowed experience in Bengal society by drawing attention to the heterogeneous individualities resulting from stratifications within these emergent widow populations, owing to different lifestyles, varying degree of access to education, diverse social standings, and various forms of suppression. Rassundari Devi’s Amar Jibon (1876) and Saradasundari Devi’s Atmakatha (1913) are accounts of the experience of widows who were marginalized by society, handed the bare minimum necessities for their existence, and deprived of the pleasures of the traditional experiences of motherhood. I propose the term ‘New Widows’ to highlight how the effects of education modified their individuality in unconventional directions, as reflected in the fictional narratives by Rabindranath Tagore and others. Close attention to the texts shows that the disparity between the aspirations of the New Widow, and her limited reach and frustration results in an acute self-awareness.

The study was conducted to evaluate the impact of training facilitated by Nuton Jibon Livelihood Improvement Project (NJLIP) under Social Development Foundation (SDF) for transfer livestock technologies and livelihood improvement for rural poor farmers in Bangladesh. A total of 650 farming households were selected by baseline survey during January 2018 to June 2018.The training and non-training beneficiaries were primary level educated and their family size (4.52) was little lower than the national average (4.9). Average age was 36.73 and 35.12 years for training and non-training farmers, respectively. The rate and amount of loan was found higher with respondent received training than without training. Adoption rate of technologies was higher than the level of idea on the concept of housing, feeding, breeding and marketing. The training beneficiaries improved knowledge and skill on feeding, management and health care of livestock and poultry. Training and demonstration are considered two strong tools for adoption and dissemination of livestock technology. Herd and flock size was increased by training beneficiaries than non-training beneficiaries. Beneficiaries having training on various IGAs have expanded their land and asset possession to a greater extent compared to non-training beneficiaries. Housing and sanitation condition of training beneficiaries were higher than non-training beneficiaries. Increased annual income of training and non-training households was 19.43% and 13.30% where income from different IGAs of livestock was 32.19% and 14.53%, respectively. Livestock were not extremely price sensitive but more sensitive on non-price factors logistic support like institutional support, quality of input and availability of input. Thus, training was treated as vital tools for transfer livestock technologies to influence the poor farmer’s livelihood improvement of training household than non-training household. SAARC J. This study analyzes the meaning of using the word Jibun in spoken language taken from the story of a smartphone game entitled "Twisted Wonderland". This study uses conversational data in the game as research data. This study aims to recognize the various meanings and uses of the word Jibun in the Japanese spoken language. This qualitative research uses a descriptive method, which describes the data obtained and concludes the results through categories formed through the results of data description and analysis. Electronic games are data sources, mainly from the Heisei and Reiwa eras up to the time of this research. The result found that the use of the word Jibun as Saikikei, the use of the word Jibun as a personal pronoun, and the word Jibun as a word that refers to a general person. However, compared to the previously studied theory, some differences in usage were found. The use of Jibun as Saikikei in spoken language has differences in the order of subject positions because, in this study, the data used is part of a conversation and uses spoken language, so the word order does not match the standard language.

Annotation:

The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of internal and external factors on bank lending. Internal factors in this study are CAR, DPK, LDR, and NPL. Meanwhile, the external factors used are GDP and JIBOR. The sample used is PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia. The data used in this study was obtained from the quarterly financial statements of bank BRI in the 2017-2021 period and analyzed using the least square method. This study found that the DPK and LDR variables partially had a positive and significant effect on lending, the CAR, NPL, and JIBOR variables did not have a significant effect on lending, and the GDP variables had a negative effect on lending. In contrast, simultaneously the CAR, DPK, LDR, NPL, GDP, and JIBOR variables significantly affected the distribution of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia.

The purpose of this study is to define the factors that influence the Mixed Mutual Funds including the Jakarta Interbank Offered Rate and the Composite Stock Price Index. The research method used is purposive sampling by taking data on price movements of mutual funds published by PT Ashmore Asset Management Indonesia Tbk where Mutual funds originating from the period January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 and listed on the IDX, consist of 245 daily data. The test method used is descriptive statistical method using sample data from JCI and JIBOR where the results obtained from the calculation of this analysis are JCI and JIBOR have a positive and significant effect on the performance of the Net Asset Value of Mutual Funds, with a coefficient of determination close to 0.6526 or 65, 26%, which means that NAV is influenced by the movement of JCI and JIBOR. While the remaining 34.74% is explained by variables not included in this study.

In addition, the coaches are expected to have the ability to expand their horizons by utilizing the maximum science and technology that is growing very rapidly. The approach method offered in problem solving is to use the lecture method to convey techniques or moves in performing the word jion, direct discussion with the target audience, Training or debriefing knowledge of the word jion, Training / demonstration about the practice of technique of the word jion and mentoring and evaluation of trainees in the field. Based on the test results, the average karateka coach who participated in this training activity, had an improvement in knowledge and skills. With this result, it is expected that all coaches can train better and correctly and professionally. So that it can produce athletes who excel at the local, regional, national and even international levels.

Ada beberapa penyebab kegagalan pada timing belt, seperti : tekanan kerja melebihi dari tekanan kerja timing belt yang diijinkan. Kelemahan rantai timing adalah bunyinya yang kasar sehinga membutuhkan perawatan yang maksimal. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kekuatan tarik dari timing belt mobil diesel L 300 menggunakan alat uji tarik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode pengujian tarik menggunakan alat uji computer servo control material testing machine dengan panjang cekannya (Grif Length) 90 mm dengan membandingkan timing belt original dengan timing belt KW 1. Hasil penelitian untuk spesimen timing belt original merek Genuine Part nilai Mod 156180.34 cm2, max force 16147.2 kgf, 0,2% 79.27439Y.S kgf/cm2, yield strength 79,27 kgf/cm2, tensile strength 104.75 kgf/cm2, elongation 6,71. Sedangkan untuk spesimen timing belt KW 1 merek jibox didapat hasil pengujian nilai Mod 46722.70 cm2, max force 5843.2 kgf, 0,2% 27.48854 y.s kgf/cm2, yield strength 11,21 kgf/cm2, tensile strength 37,90 kgf/cm2, elongation 8,11. material timing belt L 300 merek Genuin Part mengalami putus/gagal terjadi pada tegangan (stres) 82 Mpa dengan regangan 0,01 (10%). Sedangkan untuk material timing belt L 300 merek Jibox menglami putus/gagal pada tegangan 35 Mpa dengan regangan (7%), maka dapat kesimpulan bahwa timing belt merk Genuine part mempunyai tegangan (stress) 83 Mpa lebih besar dibandingkan dengan material timing belt KW 1 merek Jibox 35 Mpa, sehingga selisih tegangan kedua material tersebut adalah 48 Mpa. Sedangkan untuk nilai regangannya (strength) pada timing belt merk Geniune Part adalah 0.01 (10%). Dan untuk material timing belt KW 1 merk Jibox mempunyai regangan (strength) 0.07 (7%). Maka selisih kedua regangan material timing belt tersebut adalah 0,03 (3%).

Saat ini semakin banyak tersedia pilihan instrumen investasi. Salah satu instrumen investasi adalah reksadana. Kondisi makroekonomi Indonesia mempengaruhi kinerja investasi, termasuk investasi reksadana. Salah satu jenis reksadana adalah reksadana campuran. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh return IHSG, return Kurs USD, return JIBOR Interest Rate dan return Obligasi Pemerintah Indonesia terhadap kinerja reksadana campuran. Periode penelitian adalah selama satu tahun (2012), menggunakan data harian. Total reksadana campuran di BEI berjumlah 120, yang memenuhi kriteria menjadi sampel sebanyak 86. Metode yang digunakan untuk menjawab permasalahan penelitian adalah regresi linier berganda. Ditemukan bahwa faktor makroekonomi yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap return reksadana campuran adalah return IHSG dan Suku Bunga JIBOR.Nowadays investment instruments are growing. One of the investment instruments is mutual fund. Indonesian macroeconomic conditions affected the performance of investments, including on mutual funds. One type of mutual fund is balance mutual funds. This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of stock index returns, return of USD exchange rate, return of JIBOR Interest Rate, and return of government bonds of Indonesia to the performance of balance mutual funds. Observation period is one year (2012), using daily data. Total balance mutual funds in IDX are 120, which meets the criteria of the sample were 86. Method used to answer the research problem is multiple linear regressions. It found that macroeconomic factors that significantly influence the performance of balance mutual funds are returns JCI and JIBOR interest rate return.

A wave of social, domestic robots is poised to enter our homes. Robots such as Jibo, Kuri and Olly are networked with other ‘smart’ devices and use cameras and voice control to provide companionship, care and household management. These robots are proposed as members of the family, and as such must encourage intimacy and trust with their human caregivers. In this article, we explore the nexus between the cute aesthetic of home robots and the kinds of affective relationships this aesthetic enables with the human user. Our argument is that the cuteness of home robots creates a highly ambivalent relationship of power between (human) subject and (robotic/digital) object, whereby the manifestation of consciousness and the production of lasting emotional bonds require home robots to exceed the affective and semiotic limitations, even as their cute appearance may encourage the production of intimacy. By exceeding the borders established by their own design, home robots are able to manifest as conscious beings, a manifestation which both destabilizes the power differential between user and robot and, paradoxically, points to the possibility of their own replacement. To explore these ideas, we discuss three soon-to-be-released social robots: Mayfield Robotics’ Kuri, Emotech’s Olly and Jibo Inc.’s Jibo. Each promises a unique personality that will integrate them as a member of the family.

In Bengali Dalit literature, the Namasudra writers and poets play a crucial role in combating the complete social margsinalization of Dalits, their movements, iconography, experiences, and worldview. According to Manohar Mouli Biswas, “It is a counter cultural movement that has been aiming to undo the age-old caste ridden oppressions against the dalits by representing their lives, deprivations, struggles, histories and promoting their culture and liberation through literature” (Biswas XXV). There have recently been many books written by Dalit Namasudra authors, some of which have been published in English. Using these archives and texts, we may now see the Dalit Namasudras from a different perspective, one that previously would not have been possible through the use of traditional historical archives and writings. Among them mentionable are Manohar Mouli Biswas’s Amar Bhubane Ami Benche Thaki translated as Surviving in My World, Manoranjan Byapari’s Itibritte Chandal Jiban translated as Interrogating My Chandal Life, Dr. Manoranjan Sarkar’s Ekjan Daliter Atmakatha, Jatin Bala’s Sikar Chenra Jiban and so on. This article attempts to rebuild the alternate history of the Namasudras by deconstructing the standard material on the subject using historical and literary analysis.

There is a plurality of studies highlighting the beneficial properties of blackcurrant, especially the anti-oxidant ones. These are mainly due to phenols, of which anthocyanins and flavonoids stand out, yet the mechanisms by which the active substances in blackcurrant act are not fully understood. Blackcurrant extract has a complex biochemical composition, it contains tannins, green volatile oils, terpenic carbides, B-complex vitamins, vitamin C, organic acids (citric, malic), pectins, sugars, anthocyanins, terpenes, oils fats, flavonoids (myricetol, cvercetol, camphor), pectin, calcium, iron, potassium, phosphorus, vitamin PP. The research was carried out between 2017 and 2020. By chemical and biochemical analyses, the content of blackcurrant fruits was monitored over time, as well as the presence of some chemical or biochemical compounds with sulphur, with harmful action on the human organism, in the extract. It was sought to know if the presence of sulphur springs would have an influence on the chemical and biochemical composition of blackcurrant fruits

The article describes Old Polish constructions containing expressions and phrases constituted around such elements as name, for name, mentioned, czusz, word, i.e., e.g. high mountain for the name of Tabor; said area Zakrzewo; in the city, his name is Kamon. As has been proven, they largely imitated typical groups with appositive adjectives. In many cases, they were used interchangeably in texts, e.g. follower, czusz Jan / follower Jan; the river’s name is Jijon/Jijon River; on the mountain of Gilead/toward the mountain of Gilead. Due to the peculiarities of their structure and specific syntactic limitations, the analyzed constructs gradually go out of use in relation to the expansive and hitherto exploited appositional groups. Their use was not favoured by their analytic structure and the complexity of the duplication of the syntactic scheme. They relied on a greater number of components than synthetic appositions. The expressions described in the article functioned mainly in medieval Polish, but, for example, a proper name was still found in the 17th century, and the proper name was also found in modern Polish. In the literature, phrases such as czusz / toczusz, to jest or słowie were sometimes treated as appositions. However, due to the definitional features of appositional groups, they should be excluded from this set.

This study examined the external validity of Nagata's 1995 finding on off-line resolution of a Japanese reflexive. jibun, for logophoric and nonlogophoric sentences. The subject marker, - ga, was attached to both a matrix-subject and a subordinate-subject as contrasted with the previous study in which the matrix-subject received a topic marker, - wa. Analysis again showed no effect of sentence type, thus making invalid Kuroda's (1973) thesis and Chomsky's (1981) binding principle as applied to parsing logophoric and nonlogophoric sentences.

We construct a simple model in which banks use deposit interest rate position to shape for Asset Liability Management (ALM) strategy. Using monthly panel data of 104 banks over the January 2005 - December 2013 period, we empirically test our model. Panel data technique is used to estimate the parameter. We find that the model is well supported. The coefficient of loan growth is positive while reserves inventory is negative. Nevertheless, we find the spread to JIBOR O/N and business index to be negative which contradict our hypotheses. The results are largely unaltered when we account for turbulence period.

Abstract Background: Iron homeostasis plays a role in redox activity, mitochondrial function, and cell cycle regulation. Specifically, the dysregulation of iron metabolism is implicated in malignant transformation and cancer progression. Iron regulatory protein 2 (IRP2) is crucial for maintaining balance within iron levels and primarily controls genes associated with iron utilization. Our discovery of KS20226, a first-in-class IRP2 inhibitor, reveals remarkable potential as an effective anti-cancer drug candidate. We have elucidated the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of KS20226, thereby highlighting the feasibility of targeting IRP2 in colorectal cancer (CRC). Methods: The proliferation inhibitory activity of KS20226 was assessed the CCK-8 and 3D Spheroid models. To investigate mitochondrial function, we conducted measurement of oxidative phosphorylation (OCR) and glycoPER. Furthermore, gene expression analysis was performed through RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) using the Illumina HiSeq 2500 system platform (Macrogen Inc.). Differential expressed gene (DEG) analysis was carried out using the R package DESeq2, and pathway enrichment analysis was analyzed using GSEA (v_4.2.3.). For the observation of autophagic morphology, we utilized transmission electron microscopy (TEM), immunofluorescence staining targeting the autophagy marker LC3B, and immunoblotting. Results: KS20226 exhibited a remarkable growth inhibitory effect in 10 different CRC cell lines, with GI50 values ranging from 1 to 10 μM. KS20226 suppressed IRP2 expression and the corresponding occupancy of the iron-responsive elements of ferritin H and transferrin receptor 1, resulting in iron deprivation, and efficiently controlled CRC growth. Pharmacologic inhibition of IRP2 induced reprogramming of mitochondrial respiration, reducing reliance on oxidative phosphorylation. The observed mitochondrial dysfunction induced by KS20226 was correlated with pathway analysis, revealing a decrease in the gene-set for HALLMARK_OXIDATIVE_PHOSPHORYLATION (NES = -1.38, p-value = 0.008) and an increase in the gene-set for POSITIVE_REGULATION_OF_AUTOPHAGY (NES=1.43, p-value=0.016). Immunoblotting demonstrated that KS20226 activated the phosphorylation of AMPK, ULK, and Beclin1 cascade, leading to the autophagic cell death of the CRC cells. Conclusions: The reliance of cancer cells on iron metabolism to drive proliferation has led to the development of therapeutic strategies targeting the inhibition of IRP2. KS20226, a first-in-class IPR2 inhibitor, exhibits distinct therapeutic properties, such as perturbation of mitochondrial iron metabolism and induction of autophagic cell death. Our findings represent important progress toward exploiting IRP2-mediated abnormal iron metabolism in cancer, an unexplored area of research with substantial unmet needs. This study explores whether lexical information in verbs influences activation of an antecedent by a Japanese reflexive pronoun, jibun. Verb information specified that the reflexive was bound to an indirect object despite it being ordinarily associated with a subject in Japanese sentences. 30 students were administered a probe-recognition task in which a probe was given either for the subject or for the indirect object immediately after the reflexive or at the end of a sentence following the verb. Recognition times were faster for a subject-probe than for an indirect-object-probe regardless of the probe position. This finding indicates that the reflexive activates only the subject, and verb-control information is not immediately used when parsing Japanese sentences involving the reflexive.

This study argues the pragmatic factors that influence the choice of the four reflexive pronouns jibun, jisin, mizukara, and jiko. Since the differences in these words are subtle and the subjects’ attitudes are complex, we introduce an Improved Rating (IR) method that is developed from Oda’s Fuzzy-set Concurrent Rating (FCR) method. The analysis consists of two parts. First, a corpus-based investigation suggests that the choice of these words may be influenced by a range of factors including anticipants, conversation style, and contents, all of which can be related to “psychological distance.” Second, in order to reconfirm the psychological distance hypothesis, we employ a questionnaire involving the IR method. Consequently, the “psychological distance” is found to be an effective factor influencing the subjects’ attitudes and word choices.

This essay considers the significance of images of stars within the framework of Esoteric Buddhism in the Heian Period. Firstly, it outlines the development of Heian Esoteric Art in three stages, and points at the appearance of star icons in the third stage. Secondly, it examines some representative examples of this iconography as developed by competing schools of Esoteric Buddhism: the rectangular star mandala created by the Shingon Ninna-ji school; the Sonjōō mandala created by the Tendai Jimon school; and the circular star mandala created by the Tendai Sanmon school. I discuss the similarities that occur in these representations, for example the position of stars, and reconsider the historical significance of the creation of such icons in the area of the capital from the late tenth to the early eleventh centuries. In addition, I introduce one example of unique star imagery created at the same time in the provinces.

This study is a control experiment for a previous study (Nagata, 1991) that showed activation of an antecedent by a Japanese reflexive, jibun, in syntactically ambiguous sentences. The reflexive involved in the relevant sentences in the previous study was replaced with a word from other parts of speech in this study. This manipulation was done to delete the sentence constituent that might activate any prior antecedent. 24 female students were given a recognition task on which a probe was given either for an indirect object or for a subject either immediately after a replaced word or at the end of a sentence. No difference in recognition time between the indirect object probe and subject probe for either probe position was found. This result indicates that the difference obtained between the two probes in the previous study is attributable to the activation of the antecedent by the reflexive.

Japanese has many language varieties based on users’ social attributes such as gender, age and occupation. Regardless of whether each variety represents how people actually speak, each of them has a specific set of linguistic features and a socio-psychological group identity of its users. This paper analyzes women’s language (onna kotoba) and the use of gender-sensitive first-person pronouns (e.g., (w)atashi, boku, ore, jibun) in Japanese based on the perspective of translanguaging and a multifaceted model of the theory of identity. It shows that women’s language in Japanese was constructed by deploying some of the linguistic features of multiple language varieties that have developed in different contexts while being shaped by male-dominant ideology during Japan’s modernization process. It also shows how gender-sensitive linguistic boundaries are manipulated moment by moment by language users, affecting their master, interactional, personal, and/or relational identities.

Penelitian ini menganalisis penggunaan dan penerjemahan danseigo dan joseigo bentuk ninshou daimeishi pada komik “Meitantei Conan Volume 94” (Aoyama, 2017). Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah danseigo dan joseigo bentuk ninshou daimeishi apa saja yang digunakan dalam komik tersebut serta teknik penerjemahan apa yang digunakan dalam penerjemahannya. Dari hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa pada komik “Meitantei Conan Volume 94” (Aoyama, 2017) digunakan 162 data ninshou daimeishi dengan rincian 107 data danseigo dan 55 data joseigo. Ninshou daimeishi pada danseigo dan joseigo yang paling banyak digunakan adalah jishou ninshou daimeishi (pronomina persona pertama) yaitu boku, bokutachi, ore, oretachi/orera, jibun, dan watashi. Penerjemah mensiasati perbedaan variasi bahasa berdasarkan gender, perbedaan struktur frase, perbedaan sudut pandang, dan perbedaan stilistik yang terdapat pada penggunaan danseigo dan joseigo dalam komik “Meitantei Conan Volume 94” (Aoyama, 2017) dengan menggunakan 6 teknik penerjemahan, yaitu teknik transposisi (22,8%), teknik reduksi (5,6%), teknik modulasi (8,0%), teknik literal (56,8%), teknik kompensasi (5,6%), dan teknik amplifikasi (1,2%).
