The article analyzes the fatty acid composition of the frozen iwashi lipids of different shelf lives. It is established that the total amount of essential fatty acids omega-3 and omega-6 in iwashi’s fat reaches almost 90% of all polyunsaturated fatty acids and remains practically unchanged for 12 months of fish cold storage. It is shown that products from iwashi contain a significant amount of essential fatty acids, indispensable for the human body, which can be used to optimize the population nutrition and satisfy the physiological needs in eicosopentaenoic and docosahexaenoic fatty acids.

Fisheries of the Far East is the main producer of Russian fodder fish meal, which is used for the manufacture of fish feed in aquaculture. Until recently, the main raw material for this was waste from cutting fish, mainly pollock and salmon. Recently, with the resumption of fishing for sardine-Iwashi and mackerel, fodder flour made from waste from cutting these fish appeared on the market. The article presents the qualitative indicators of fish meal from pollock, sardine-Iwashi, mackerel and salmon. Shown are the results of fish-biological tests of starter feeds made from domestic fish meal for chum salmon in the conditions of the experimental fish hatchery «Ryazanovsky EPRZ» of the Primorsky branch of FSBI Glavrybvod.

Expanding the range of functional food products is one of the important tasks of the Russian state policy to improve the population health. Water bioresources due to their high biological value consists of the potential for creating such products. The article presents the technological characteristics of the Pacific salted sardine (iwasi) as a promising highfat raw material rich in valuable natural lipids for multi-component emulsion products. The Pacific sardine (ivasi) extracted in the far East is a mass object of marine fishing. However, the food production from the sardines is currently limited by frozen and salted fish. In order to expand the food product range from the Pacific sardine (ivasi), the paper concerns the technological parameters of the salted fish production process and justification of its use as a basis for emulsion systems. The authors present technological scheme for obtaining salted Pacific sardine (iwashi) from frozen fish. The dynamic analysis of proteolysis indicators during the storage period of salted sardines indicates an active accumulation of protein breakdown products during the protein component destruction. Organoleptic assessment of salted fish performed in the third and fourth months of storage showed that, in the absence of discrediting organoleptic signs in the samples under study, a man recorded the destruction of the abdominal area in the fourth month of storage. The rheological studies results of finely ground muscle tissue of salted sardines, in comparison with frozen fish, demonstrate an increase in these indicators in the proteolysis process. Biochemical, rheological and organoleptic characteristics of salted Pacific sardine (iwasi) in the fourth month of storage indicate its high raw material potential for use in the technology of emulsion products.

В работе рассматриваются вопросы, связанные с повышением эффективности промысла дальневосточной сардины (иваси) и скумбрии путём учёта акустических полей рыболовных судов влияющих на поведение рассматриваемых гидробионтов. Приведены модель косяка рыбы и модель его взаимодействия с судном. Проведено численное моделирование косяков рыб при взаимодействии с акустическими полями двух типов рыболовных судов крупнотоннажного РТМС и среднетоннажного СТР-503 оснащёнными тралами. Результаты моделирования показали корреляцию с практикой промысла и позволили определить области концентрации косяков после прохождения их рыболовными судами. Показано, что небольшие тралы с оптимальными горизонтальными раскрытиями 70 м для облова косяков сардины иваси и скумбрии на крупнотоннажных судах позволяют увеличить уловистость, по сравнению с используемыми сегодня большими тралами имеющие горизонтальное раскрытие 130 м и более. Это достигается возможностью вывода тралов с оптимальным раскрытием за область концентрации гидробионтов после прохождения судна и воздействия его акустических полей на косяк. Соответственно небольшие тралы позволяют снизить затраты на топливо. The paper deals with issues related to increasing the efficiency of the japanese sardine and mackerel fishing by taking into account the acoustic fields of fishing vessels that affect the behavior of the fish under consideration. A model of a school of fish and a model of its interaction with the vessel are given. Numerical modeling of fish shoals in interaction with acoustic fields of two types of fishing vessels of large-capacity RTMS and medium-capacity STR-503 equipped with trawls has been carried out. The simulation results showed a correlation with fishing practices and made it possible to determine the areas of concentration of shoals after they were passed by fishing vessels. It is shown that small trawls with optimal horizontal openings of 70 m for fishing shoals of sardine and mackerel on large-tonnage vessels can increase catchability compared to large trawls used today with a horizontal opening of 130 m or more. This is achieved by the possibility of moving trawls with optimal opening beyond the area of concentration of fish after the passage of the vessel and the impact of its acoustic fields on the school. Accordingly, small trawls can reduce fuel costs.

The paucity of information on malaria vectors in rural areas continues to pose a problem in the public health sector in Nigeria. Thus, the study on mosquitoes composition and malaria transmission in some communities in Doma Local Government Area (LGA) of Nasarawa State, Nigeria was carried out between April and July 2021. Indoor resting mosquitoes were collected using standard pyrethrum spray catch (PSC) from 0600 to 0900 hours. The mosquitoes collected were transferred into a well labelled petri-dish and transported to the laboratory for processing. A total of 1,317 mosquitoes were collected which spread across Iwashi 1,132 (85.9%) and Ruttu 185 (14.0%) communities. The results obtained indicate that the Anopheles mosquitoes had a higher abundance of 1,020 (77.4%) mosquitoes of which females constituted 886 (67.3%) of the population collected while the anopheline males accounted for 134 (10.2%). The abundance of mosquitoes in relation to groups, species and sex respectively varied significantly (p < 0.05). A zero (0.0%) sporozoite rate was recorded from the 654 female Anopheles gambiae s. l. dissected, although oocyst was seen in the alimentary canal of 78 (11.9%) mosquitoes which may be an indicator of possible potential transmission. The results obtained from this study call on all the inhabitants of the two selected communities as well as Doma LGA at large to always clear all potential mosquitoes breeding sites. Also, members of the communities should ensure proper protection against vector-human contact by sleeping under insecticide treated bed nets.

The article describes the effectiveness of commercial fishing as a biotechnological production process dependent on opening up the resource potential of multi-species fishing systems - fishing zones in fishery basins – by fishing vessels. Currently, the science-based approach to developing such systems with intra-production subsystems is not formed. All processes occurring in the systems are logistic, and the system as a whole is a complex industrial system. An assessment of its efficiency or inefficiency should be made in terms of the use of fishery resources, including production resources and the resource base of fishing, while the minimization of costs (expenses) at all stages of the production and technological process should be the assessment criterion. The process of studying and developing fishing organization schemes including intra-system flow (logistic) processes is carried out in several stages, the result being the improved organizational schemes with the distribution of a group of fishing units in the object-oriented fishing zones working in optimal forms of fishing organization. Taking the Far Eastern sardine (Iwashi) fishing in the South Kuril zone as an example, a multifactorial analysis and accounting of the entire composition of restrictions, conditions, the nature of each component, their influence at each stage of the movement of material flows in the industrial logistic system functioning in the fishing zone was carried out. The design of end-to-end material-conducting circuits and schemes of fishing activities has been carried out. The logistic approach to the processes and systems of commercial fishing used in the design process is a universal scientifically grounded research method and a methodological approach to the design of complex fishing systems.

ABSTRACT Kudoa iwatai, a myxosporean parasite, has low host fish specificity, and consumers encounter commercial marine fish or marketed marine fish infected with this parasite in Japan. Although the presence of this parasite infection in fish samples is traditionally determined by the microscopic morphological examination of extracted spores, this method lacks sensitivity and specificity. In this study, we developed a real-time PCR assay for the detection of K. iwatai 18S rDNA to achieve the rapid and specific identification of K. iwatai in foreign substance inspection. We also evaluated the usefulness of real-time PCR for Japanese seabass (Lateolabrax japonicus) with or without K. iwatai cysts. Our real-time PCR assay was able to reliably detect the target plasmid DNA over a 7-log range (from 4.0 × 101 to 4.0 × 107 copies per reaction) and displayed a linear relationship, with a correlation of determination value of 0.9993 and slope of −3.3651. Moreover, the mean value of the intra-assay coefficient of variation was 0.89% in triplicate assays, and the detection limit of this method was 2.5 copies of K. iwatai 18S rDNA per reaction. The sensitivity of the real-time PCR was the same or higher than that of an established conventional PCR when DNA extracts from eight Japanese seabass with or without K. iwatai were used as templates. The specificity of the real-time PCR was comparable with that of conventional PCR by using DNA extracts from fish samples infected with nine Kudoa species. Together, these results indicate that our real-time PCR assay is highly sensitive, reproducible, and specific for detecting K. iwatai 18S rDNA in foreign substance inspection. We believe that this highly sensitive real-time PCR may also be useful for understanding the gastrointestinal diseases associated with K. iwatai and for studying the yet unknown life cycle of K. iwatai.

El presente trabajo busca comprender y explicar los procesos compositivos del ballet La delicadeza de lo sublime, de Gabriel Iwasaki. Para lograrlo, primero será necesario fundamentar la postura estética adoptada para esta obra, para lo cual se realizará una reflexión y crítica sobre la estética musical académica contemporánea. El resultado de dichos procesos reflexivos hará posible proponer una visión particular sobre cómo entender la apuesta estética del ballet. Por ser el amor un eje central en el guion del ballet, se reflexionará sobre la vigencia de temas como este en la composición musical. Se explicará hasta qué punto la composición de la obra ha sido influida por vivencias pasadas del compositor y ha constituido un mecanismo de maduración emocional frente a un proceso de duelo personal, razones por las cuales será necesario evaluar el rol del inconsciente a lo largo del proceso de composición. En cuanto a lo propiamente musical, se explicará el proceso de concepción de la música, su elaboración y subsiguiente desarrollo, así como la forma en la cual el compositor ha hecho uso de recursos musicales para representar y reforzar los conceptos planteados en el guion del ballet a través de la composición.
The aim of this study is to understand and explain the compositional processes of the ballet La delicadeza de lo sublime (The Delicacy of the Sublime) by Gabriel Iwasaki. In order to achieve this, it was firstly necessary to substantiate the musical aesthetics stance of this piece, for which a reflection and criticism of the aesthetics of academic contemporary music is needed. The result of these processes of reflection will enable to propose a particular vision on how to understand the musical aesthetics of the ballet. Since love is the focal point in the script of this ballet, it is necessary to reflect on how valid it is to touch on these topics nowadays. The study will explain to what extent the composition of the ballet has been influenced by past experiences of the composer and has worked as an emotional growth mechanism to deal with a personal grief process, which is why it will be necessary to assess the role the unconscious mind plays throughout the compositional process. In regards to the musical aspect, this study will show the conception process of the music, its elaboration and following development, as well as how the composer has made use of different musical resources to represent and reinforce the concepts established in the ballet script through composition.

Lithic Industries of Huari and TiwanakuLithics in New World complex societies are often studied in terms of formal tools and specialized production, with flake tools and debitage given very little attention. However, the majority of lithic assemblages are produced by expedient or flake tool rather than more formal technologies. It is believed that as societies become more complex, energy input into lithic production is reduced. Yet in contemporary Andean cultures that share religious iconography, there is a great deal of variation in the organization of lithic technologies. In this paper, two lithic collections from Iwawi (a Tiwanaku site) and Conchopata (a Huari city) are discussed. The implications of these case studies for understanding the organization of lithic technology in Andean complex societies, and their potential for understanding Huari and Tiwanaku cultural traditions, are considered. It is concluded that Iwawi and Conchopata lithic production are distinct, and that one cannot be derived from the other.
Las industrias líticas en sociedades complejas del Nuevo Mundo han sido estudiadas principalmente en términos de herramientas formales y la producción especializada, mientras que las herramientas sobre lasca y los desechos de talla merecían menos atención. Sin embargo, la mayoría de las colecciones líticas se producen a través de tecnologías expeditivas o de lasca en vez de formas más acabadas. Se ha propuesto que la inversión energética en la producción lítica disminuye cuando se desarrolla la complejidad social. No obstante, las culturas andinas contemporáneas, las que comparten un cuerpo de iconografía religiosa, exhiben una gran variación en la organización de la industria lítica. En el presente trabajo se presentan dos colecciones líticas: de Iwawi, un yacimiento tiwanaku, y de Conchopata, una ciudad huari. Se considera la utilidad de estos ejemplos para entender la organización de la industria lítica en las sociedades complejas andinas y su potencial para entender las tradiciones culturales de Huari y Tiwanaku. Se concluye que las producciones líticas de Iwawi y Conchopata son poco similares y que una no se puede derivar de la otra.

El principal objectiu d'aquesta tesi doctoral és establir una poètica sobre la figura del monstre contemporani, de gènere fantàstic, partint de la nostra hipòtesi en la qual sostenim que, en la ficció postmoderna, es conrea i es va a un tipus de figures monstruoses caracteritzades per uns trets evolutius, diferents a les formes tradicionals o clàssiques emprades per la ficció fantàstica. Així mateix, aprofundim en l'anàlisi de 4 éssers monstruosos que considerem significatius pel que fa a l'ús ia la presència d'aquestes criatures, per observar com funciona el cultiu d'una tipologia seleccionada de monstres postmoderns: el vampir, l'home llop, el revenant i el doble. De tal manera que podrem avaluar si es produeix una modificació en clau postmoderna.
El principal objetivo de esta tesis doctoral es establecer una poética sobre la figura del monstruo contemporáneo, de género fantástico, partiendo de nuestra hipótesis en la que sostenemos que, en la ficción posmoderna, se cultiva y se acude a un tipo de figuras monstruosas caracterizadas por unos rasgos evolutivos, diferentes a las formas tradicionales o clásicas empleadas por la ficción fantástica. Asimismo, profundizamos en el análisis de 4 seres monstruosos que consideramos significativos en lo que refiere al uso y a la presencia de estas criaturas, para observar cómo funciona el cultivo de una tipología seleccionada de monstruos posmodernos: el vampiro, el licántropo, el revenant y el doble. De tal forma que podremos evaluar si se produce una modificación en clave posmoderna.
The main objective of this doctoral thesis is to establish a poetics about the figure of the contemporary monster, of a fantastic genre, starting from our hypothesis in which we argue that, in postmodern fiction, a type of monstrous figures characterized by some evolutionary traits, different from the traditional or classical forms used by fantasy fiction. Likewise, we delve into the analysis of 4 monstrous beings that we consider significant in terms of the use and presence of these creatures, to observe how the cultivation of a selected typology of postmodern monsters works: the vampire, the lycanthrope, the revenant and the double. In such a way that we will be able to evaluate whether there is a postmodern modification.

Several special cases of this conjecture were proven in the years following, however the question remained open until 1998 when Iwase produced not just one, but infinitely many counterexamples. In this thesis, we study the methods implemented by Iwase, culminating in the construction of his counterexample.

Shunij Iwai is a significant director of the Japanese New Independent cinema, who is best known for the fascinating visual style he adopted from the 1990s onwards. Rejecting the obsession with Japaneseness in Japanese cinema, Iwai developed a unique style of aestheticism through the use of backlighting, a technique he refined in partnership with cinematographer Noboru Shinoda. In existing academic studies on backlighting, cinematic lighting has generally been understood as a representational element that works to fulfill the needs of narration. Examples of such studies include Sharon A. Russell's (1981) semiotic study on the lighting style of French cinema, Patrick Keating's (2010) discussion of lighting convention in classical Hollywood cinema, and Lara Thompson's (2015) analysis on the use of light as a narrative tool in narrative cinema. By contrast, lighting in Shunji Iwai's films works in a different way. This difference prompts me to review the general conceptualization of cinematic lighting and turn to a materialist perspective, a non- representational attempt to study the sensation of lighting in cinema. By adopting Deleuze's concepts of cinema and sensation, this project provides an analytical trajectory for studying lighting in cinema. I argue that lighting as an aesthetic materiality renders a new understanding of the film world of Shunji Iwai as something derived from the Deleuzian poetics of sensation. This argument can be a starting point for critically rethinking lighting as a means for producing a circulation of cinematic affects.

The handbook presented in this paper summarises the results of the research initiative “International Water Research Alliance Saxony” (IWAS). The subproject “IWAS Vietnam” (Phase I, October 2008 – December 2010) focuses on the model region “South-East Asia” with emphasis on Vietnam. Nowadays society strongly depends on its available resources and the long term stability of the surrounding ecosystem. Numerical modelling has become a general standard for evaluating past, current or future system states for a large number of applications supporting decision makers in proper management. In order to ensure the correct representation of the investigated processes and results of a simulation, verification examples (benchmarks), that are based on observation data or analytical solutions, are utilized to evaluate the numerical modelling tool. In many parts of the world, groundwater is an important resource for freshwater. While it is not only limited in quantity, subsurface water bodies are often in danger of contamination from various natural or anthropogenic sources. Especially in arid regions, marine saltwater intrusion poses a major threat to groundwater aquifers which mostly are the exclusive source of freshwater in these dry climates. In contrast to common numerical groundwater modelling, density-driven flow and mass transport have to be considered as vital processes in the system and in scenario simulations for fresh-saltwater interactions. In the beginning of this thesis, the capabilities of the modelling tool OpenGeoSys are verified with selected benchmarks to represent the relevant non-linear process coupling. Afterwards, variable-density application and process studies on different scales are presented. Application studies comprehend regional groundwater modelling of a coastal aquifer system extensively used for agricultural irrigation, as well as hydro-geological model development and parametrization. In two process studies, firstly, a novel method to model gelation of a solute in porous media is developed and verified on small scale laboratory observation data, and secondly, investigations of thermohaline double-diffusive Rayleigh regimes on medium scale are carried out. With the growing world population and, thus, increasing pressure on non-renewable resources, intelligent management strategies intensify demand for potent simulation tools and development of novel methods. In that way, this thesis highlights not only OpenGeoSys’ potential of density-dependent process modelling, but the comprehensive importance of variable-density flow and transport processes connecting, both, avant-garde scientific research, and real-world application challenges.

The kabuki play Osome Hisamatsu ukina no yomiuri was written by kabuki playwright Tsuruya Nanboku IV and first performed at the Morita za theatre in Edo (Tōkyō) in 1813. The plot of the play includes a fraud scene with a corpse, which is based on seventeenth-century Chinese popular novel Jingu qiguan. One of the features of Osome Hisamatsu ukina no yomiuri is that it showcases the attempted fraud by a woman of the lower classes, Dote no Oroku, first performed by onnagata actor Iwai Hanshirō V. Oroku belongs to the kabuki type cast known as akuba, which realistically depicts the life of women of the lower classes. This type of role was first made popular by onnagata actor Iwai Hanshirō IV’s performance in 1792, though lead actor Onoe Matsusuke I already performed evil female fraudsters as early as 1789. There is a possibility that the kabuki actors and playwrights were made aware of this particular female image in the Chinese novel by Dutch scholar and writer Morishima Chūryō. This paper discusses the social interactions between Tsuruya Nanboku, Onoe Matsusuke and Morishima Chūryō, and how Iwai Hanshirō V’s enacting of Dote no Oroku was influenced by Hanshirō IV’s and Matsusuke’s evil old women.
