Der volle Inhalt der QuelleLa presente tesis doctoral se propuso analizar la toma decisiones motrices y la toma de conciencia emocional en jugadores de baloncesto en situaciones de entrenamiento y en competición. La investigación toma como marco teórico la Praxiología Motriz para el estudio de la inteligencia decisional y el modelo de educación emocional de Bisquerra para el estudio de la inteligencia emocional. La investigación corresponde a un estudio cuasiexperimental de caso único. Trece jugadores del equipo Cosehisa Monzón (temporada 2010-2011) participaron en tareas de distintos dominios de acción motriz. En cada tarea se identificaron las conductas motrices decisionales utilizando el instrumento denominado SOBD (creado ad hoc) y la intensidad emocional a través de la escala GES. Los datos se analizaron mediante tablas de contingencia, utilizando los residuales ajustados como estadístico de contraste, y los árboles de clasificación. Se destacan cuatro hallazgos principales de esta investigación: a) los dominios de acción motriz con oposición (oposición y cooperación-oposición) originan más decisiones desajustadas y también mayor intensidad en emociones negativas respecto a las tareas sin oposición (psicomotrices y de cooperación); b) el sistema de juego no es una variable predictiva de las conductas motrices decisionales y tampoco predice la victoria o derrota en esas tareas ; sin embargo, c) el entrenador debe tener planificado en su sistema de juego las decisiones que quiere potenciar para ser eficiente; d) el resultado en la competición es una variable a tener en cuenta para predecir la vivencia emocional de los jugadores. La inteligencia motriz y la inteligencia emocional deberían ser dos aspectos claves en el entrenamiento del baloncesto.
The purpose of this thesis is to examine the motor decision-making and the emotional awareness expressed by basketball players in training and competition situations. The background of this research was the Motor Praxioloxy as far as the analysis of the decisional intelligence was concerned, and Bisquerra’s model of emotional education for the study of emotional intelligence. This investigation corresponds to a quasiexperimental study of a unique case. Thirteen players of the Cosehisa Monzón team (2010-11 season) took part in motor tasks of different motor action fields. In each task, decisional motor behaviors were identified by using a tool called SOBD (created ad hoc), whereas the GES scale was used to register the emotional intensity. The information was analyzed using contingence tables, with adjusted residuals when required, as test statistics and classification trees. Four main findings of this research are underlined: a) domains with motor actions with opposition (opposition and co-operation opposition) create more unadjusted decisional motor behaviors and more intense negative emotions than motor actions without opposition (psychomotor and cooperation); b) the play system established by the coach is not a variable predictor of decisional motor behaviors and does not predict the win or loss in these motor tasks either; however, c) the coach has to plan in his play system the motor decisions to boost efficiency; d) the result in the competition (a win or loss) is a variable to be considered in order to predict the emotional experience of the players. Motor and emotional intelligences should be two key factors in basketball training.

Faz-se uso da cidade de Lisboa, como caso de estudo e objeto de intervenção, para através da sua arquitetura, urbanismo e tecnologia, entender como solucionar os problemas de hoje e antecipar os problemas de amanhã. Através da metáfora “cidade ciborgue” compara-se Lisboa ao corpo humano de forma a entender o que está em falta. Por fim nasce um projeto na Doca do Beato que pretende melhorar a gestão e investigação metropolitana do futuro, assim como aproximar a cidade e o individuo.
ABSTRACT: Living in the city of the 21st century is to depend on its infrastructural systems, yet management remains dispersed. The city of Lisbon is used as a case study and object of intervention, through its architecture, urbanism and technology, to understand how to solve the problems of today and anticipate the problems of tomorrow. Through the metaphor “cyborg city” Lisbon is compared to the human body in order to understand what is missing. Finally a project is born in the Doca do Beato that intends to improve the management and metropolitan investigation of the future and to approach the city and the individual.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis research aims to study the relationship between trait EI and personality in adolescents. The sample consists of 805 students, aged between 11 and 19 years, from the Dominican Republic and Spain, which allowed us to identify differences between both samples in addition to studying the predictive validity of the above mentioned constructs and IQ on academic performance (AP) in the Dominican sample. We also examined the psychometric properties of the instruments used and searched for differences according to sex, grade and IQ. Our results showed a low but significant correlation between trait EI and personality. The ratio was higher between trait EI and Extraversion, Conscientiousness and Neuroticism, which is consistent with the theory that Neuroticism and Extraversion are the strongest correlates of trait EI (Petrides et al., 2010). No association between trait EI and age was found, but there were significant differences in EI according to grade, namely under Sociability and Self-control for students in higher courses. Significant differences were also found in EI according to sex in Sociability in favor of boys. We studied the existence of significant differences in EI and personality according to nationality. Dominicans had a higher level of trait EI, both at the factor and facet level. Concerning personality, Spaniards perceived themselves with higher levels of Consciousness and Neuroticism, while Dominicans scored higher in Agreeableness. These differences are most likely centered on the fact that Spanish culture (individualism), seems to have low indicators of emotional adjustment, which is consistent with other research indicating that in this type of culture the expression and experience of negative emotions is intensified (Fernandez et al., 2000). The higher the degree of collectivism, the better the individuals will be able to properly channel their emotions, which benefits not only them but also the collective group. We also studied the relationship between trait EI, IQ, and AP in the Dominican sample. The association between AP and EI was negative, implying that while marks increase, students trait EI decreases. This leads us to assume that quiet, withdrawn and non-social students are more committed to their studies, focusing on excelling academically above their wellbeing, interacting with others, having a social life or relating to their peers. IQ also showed correlations with AP in the Dominican sample, which is to be expected, as it has been previously studied and proven (Lozano et al, 2014; Ferrándiz et al, 2009). Between IQ and trait EI there was no significant association, which is also expected as trait EI assessed through self-report is orthogonal to cognitive ability. Lastly, when the predictive validity of trait EI, IQ and personality over AP were analyzed, we found that only Openness to Experience and IQ significantly predicted global AP. The fact that this study has been conducted with adolescents from two cultures helps prove that the used instruments keep their reliability and validity despite differences in nationality. This intercultural study also helps us understand that maturity, emotions and actions of young people may vary depending on the context and people they interact with. These results prove to be a promising avenue of research regarding the interaction between emotional self-perception
