L’amélioration durable des rendements agricoles est devenue une priorité face à l’accentuation de la pauvreté en matière organique des sols et des risques et limites des fertilisants chimiques. Dans ce contexte, la conservation des arbres et arbustes des champs a connu un regain d’intérêt. C’est dans cette optique que cette étude visait à contribuer à une meilleure connaissance des caractéristiques de leur peuplement dans l’Arrondissement de Djilor. Pour y parvenir, des données ont été collectées dans des placettes carrées de 1600 m² (40 m x 40 m) installées de manière aléatoire dans les champs. Le nombre de ces placettes a été au préalable défini sur la base d’un préinventaire. Au total 22 espèces réparties en 22 genres et 14 familles dominées par des Mimosaceae, Combretaceae et Anacardiaceae (13,8% chacune), ont été recensées. La prédominance des mésophanérophytes (50%) soulignait le caractère arboré du peuplement. La chorologie de la flore était caractérisée par la prédominance d’espèces soudaniennes et soudano-zambéziennes (31,8 chacune) mais avec une prépondérance des individus de ces dernières (45,1%). La richesse spécifique de Shannon-weaver était moyenne (3,95 bits) avec une équitabilté de 0,88 bits et d’un indice de Simpson de 0,92 bits. Les paramètres dendrométriques obtenus du peuplement étaient : 7,6 ind/ha de densité réelle, 1,6 m2/ha de surface terrière, 5,8% de recouvrement, 48,4 cm de diamètre et 10,9 m de hauteur. Le taux de régénération y était très important (76,9%). La structure en diamètre et en hauteur montrait une prédominance des individus adultes. Ces résultats obtenus pourraient servir de base à la connaissance et au suivi de cet écosystème pour une amélioration de sa gestion.

La formation des trihalométhanes (THM) est associée à la réaction du chlore avec la matière organique résiduelle contenue dans les eaux traitées avant distribution. Elle se poursuit dans le temps sur le réseau de distribution jusqu’au robinet du consommateur. Le respect de la norme des 100 μg/L sur les points les plus éloignés peut être critique sur des unités de production où la matière organique résiduelle en fin de traitement peut se montrer très réactive, en lien à sa composition et à des facteurs aggravants comme la température, le temps de séjour hydraulique et la présence de bromures. Dans ce contexte et en visant en priorité les eaux superficielles à pollution moyenne à forte en matière organique, la R&D Saur a développé un modèle prédictif de formation des THM en basant la construction sur trois objectifs principaux : une quantification en unité de masse de THM totaux, la prévision la plus juste sur les fins de réseau pour des temps de séjour dépassant les 72 h et, enfin, que le modèle puisse être employé sur les installations industrielles comme outil de diagnostic et d’aide aux réglages d’exploitation des traitements unitaires. Le modèle a été bâti à partir d’essais de laboratoire menés sur des eaux traitées de deux unités de production avant chloration. Les protocoles mis en oeuvre ont permis de développer une modélisation à partir de l’absorbance UV à 254 nm. L’équation cinétique de production permet d’évaluer précisément les concentrations en THM totaux à moyen et long termes sur une gamme étendue de températures : 7 à 25°C. Le modèle intègre le « bromide incorporation factor », indice de caractérisation de l’état bromé, qui permet d’exprimer les résultats en unité de masse de THM totaux. L’applicabilité du modèle à d’autres groupes d’eaux est également présentée.

In the Irkutsk region there are recorded high indices of rates of morbidity, disability, mortality rate of the working-age population and low levels of life expectancy of the population, that is confirmed by ranking position levels among the all subjects of the Russian Federation. According to all mentioned indices of health the region is inside the top ten unfavorable regions of Russia. In relation to the problem in the state of health of the adult population the estimation of the causal relationships between environmental factors and certain health indices is actual. The list of studiedfactors included health indices that characterize the harmful working conditions of the working population and basic socioeconomic indices in the region. Estimation of causal-relationship relationships was performed with the use of methods of multivariate analysis - correlation and multiple linear regression. In the selection offactors for the construction of mathematical models of multiple regression there were used methods of the analysis of variables variability, pair correlation coefficients matrix and sequential switching covariates to eliminate the problems of multicollinearity, pre-standardization of indices for the elevation of the numerical stability of regression analysis algorithm. As a result of the execution of the analysis there were constructed statistical models for the dependence in the system variables “environment - public health”, which allowed to identify the most informative regression models for the adult population health according to indices of primary disability of the population, the mortality rate and life expectancy of the working age population. According to results of the analysis there were identified priority factors affecting on the health of the adult population of the Irkutsk region. To these factors there are referred the proportion of workplaces failing to meet sanitary standards for vibration and 8 socio-economic indices of living standards of the population.

Questo saggio illustra un percorso di ricerca valutativa, richiesto dall'Acquario di Genova e sviluppato dal Dipartimento di Scienze Antropologiche, finalizzato alla costruzione di un indice di efficacia educativa della visita, che consentisse al management aziendale di avere un'indicazione sintetica e di individuare piů facilmente i punti di forza e di debolezza del percorso dal punto di vista educativo. A questo scopo, dopo una preliminare ricognizione della bibliografia di riferimento, il primo passo č consistito nella chiarificazione concettuale dell'evaluando, ricercata attraverso focus group e interviste in cui i dirigenti e gli operatori della struttura sono stati invitati a definire in maniera piů puntuale gli obiettivi educativi della visita. Trovato un accordo dei partecipanti su questo punto focale della ricerca, a partire dagli indicatori cosě individuati sono stati costruiti dei questionari somministrati ai visitatori sia prima della visita, per assicurarsi che gli obiettivi individuati dal management aziendale collimassero con le aspettative dei visitatori, sia dopo la visita, per valutarne l'efficacia. In fase conclusiva il personale della struttura č stato coinvolto nel processo di ponderazione degli indicatori di efficacia educativa precedentemente individuati, consentendo di rivalutare i punteggi ottenuti sui diversi indicatori con la somministrazione dei questionari e di calcolare cosě un indice di efficacia educativa, su una scala 0- 100, che rispettasse le prioritŕ relative degli obiettivi educativi come definiti da manager e esperti dell'Acquario. Il pregio dell'indice, cosě calcolato, č che esso rispecchia le prioritŕ assegnate ai diversi obiettivi educativi dal management aziendale e su queste basi restituisce un feed-back sintetico sull'efficacia educativa della visita. Il suo limite intrinseco consiste nella non necessaria coincidenza tra le prioritŕ assegnate agli obiettivi da dirigenti e operatori, da un lato, e la prioritŕ relativa delle aspettative degli utenti, dall'altro, e questo rappresenta un importante elemento di incertezza per la definizione di strategie aziendali appropriate.

A.G. Aganbegyan considers the knowledge economy as the main component of human capital. He analyzes certain areas of the knowledge economy (R&D, healthcare and education) by comparing relevant results demonstrated by Russian regions with similar indices reported for other countries. The article points out positive and negative aspects, e.g. high level and quality of education v. low efficiency of its application; lower cancer mortality rate and particularly child mortality rate v. high mortality from cardiovascular disease among working-age population, etc. Major causes of negative phenomena include insufficient funding of the public sector and inefficient administration. In order to remedy the situation, the author recommends the development of a new federal budget, transition to national economic planning and adjustment of national projects.

The study has been carried out at the FSBSI «Ural Federal Agrarian Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences» on the fields of the Krasnoufimsk Breeding Center in 2019–2021. The purpose was to develop new highly productive varieties of spring bread wheat adapted to the climatic conditions of the Middle Urals using parental forms with high breeding indices in hybridization. There has been given a characteristic of the earlymaturing variety ‘Ekstra’ and middle-early maturing ‘Nitsa’ and their parents, namely, ‘Omskaya 35’ and ‘Iren’, ‘Ekaterina’ and ‘Krasnoufimskaya 100’, according to such breeding indices as Mexican, Canadian, Poltava, attraction, productivity, potential head productivity, intensity, micro-distribution, linear head density, grain filling. There has been shown that the productivity advantage of the variety ‘Ekstra’ over the variety ‘Iren’ was 0.37 t/ha (11.1 %) and over thevariety ‘Omskaya 35’ it was 0.31 t/ha (9.1 %). The variety ‘Ekstra’ has combined the high values of six breeding indices from the middle maturing variety ‘Omskaya 35’ and exceeded both parents in the studied indices. The productivity advantage of the variety ‘Nitsa’ was 0.52 t/ha (19.2 %) over the variety ‘Ekaterina’ and over the variety ‘Krasnoufimskaya 100’ it was 0.40 t/ha (14.2 %). It has combined the high values of four indices from the variety ‘Ekaterina’, six from the variety ‘Krasnoufimskaya 100’ and significantly exceeded the parental varieties according to such indices as Poltava, Mexican, microdistribution, attraction, grain filling, intensity. There has been identified a high positive correlation between grain productivity and attraction indices (r = 0.761) and Mexican (r = 0.864), an average positive correlation between indices of intensity (r = 0.601), potential head productivity (r = 0.507), grain filling (r = 0.333). The results have showed that involving parents with high values of breeding indices into hybridization could contribute to the development of new highly productive varieties of spring wheat.

Unregulated charging of a large number of electric vehicles (EVs) simultaneously may cause electricity shortages and price spikes in the power market. This paper deals with the optimization of EV charging strategy using the priority sequence. Firstly, the evaluation indices such as the schedulable interval ratio, the emergency probability and the battery losses are proposed. Then a comprehensive evaluation system for the EV scheduling priority is established by adopting the entropy weight method to incorporate multiple indices. Based on the scheduling priority obtained, a double-hierarchical optimal model is proposed, taking into account the constraints such as the demand of the EV owner. Its upper objective aims to minimize the sum of the square of deviation between the actual and the required schedulable capacity of EV aggregator over every interval. The lower one minimizes the sum of EV scheduling priority sequence over the scheduling interval. Case studies with 100 EVs show that the hierarchical optimization model can assist EV aggregator in making effective charging scheme. It is also observed that better flexibility for dispatching EVs can be achieved using multiple indices with weights.

To validate and explore novelty of research work, various quantitative ethnobotanical indices like informant consensus factor, use value index, fidelity level, relative frequency of citation, relative importance of plants, rank order of priority, Jaccard index and priority ranking were used. The highest ICF was found for jaundice with 0.91 value followed by ICF values of 0.89, 0.86 and 0.85 for wounds, skin diseases and stomach pains, respectively. Fidelity level predicted that Azadirachta indica (Indian lilac tree) ranked first (100%) for its prevalent use in ethnomedicines. Highest use value index (0.61) was found for Azadirachta indica while the highest relative frequency of citation (55) was measured for Melia azedarach. The relative order of priority index was the highest for Azadirachta indica and Acacia arabica L. (ROP = 100) depicting their prevalent use in ethnomedicines. For EB study, the highest relative importance (50.8) was found for Azadirachta indica with good number of agro-uses and its seeds and bark are sold or marketed in local markets to prepare herbal therapeutics by indigenous practioners. The Jaccard index depicted that many traditional ethnomedicinal uses of prescribed trees were novel in recipe form or first time reported such as Senegalia modesta (Phulai) resin was used to prepare ‘Panjoori’ a local tonic prepared from cow or buffalo butter mixing with seeds of Papaver somnifera (Kashkhash) and Prunus amygdalus (Badaam). The wood of many trees like Pinus roxburghii (pine), Dalbergia sissoo (rosewood), Senegalia modesta (Phulai), Acacia. Arabica (kikar), Bombax cieba (cotton tree) is commercially sold as timber in markets (S3 Table). The research proved that population explosion and climate changes have triggered severe biotic and abiotic pressure on tree flora of the study area of Bhimber, AJK. The research describes that plants like Terminalia belerica (belerica), Terminalia arjuna (arjun tree), Cassia fistula (Indian laburnum), Butea monosperma (bastard teak), Phyllanthus emblica (Indian gooseberry), Morus laevigata (Shah toot), Bauhinia variegata (orchid tree) and Flacourtia indica (Indian plum/ kakoo) are threatened species and their population is highly reduced and if reclamation measures for their conservation are not taken, it may lead towards their complete loss from the area. This research recommends sustainable ethnobotanical use of tree flora, their growth and conservation for green and ecofriendly environment for safe and secure future of human generation.

The objective of this research was to apply the flood vulnerability assessment to ungauged reservoirs for prioritizing and evaluating the reservoir rehabilitation according to climate change. The flood vulnerability index (FVI) can quantitatively compare the flood vulnerabilities of the analysis targets and can be used for the relative comparison of hydraulic structures to determine the reinforcement priority. In this study, we proposed a simple FVI that contained exposure and adaptive capacity of the hydraulic structure. We selected ten dam heightening reservoirs in Korea and constructed data for flood vulnerability assessment. The FVI was calculated before and after the dam heightening to analyze the priority and effect of reservoir rehabilitation under climate change. Flood vulnerability indices were estimated for four periods (1995s: 1981–2010, 2025s: 2011–2040, 2055s: 2041–2070, 2085s: 2071–2100) and before/after the dam heightening project. As a result, flood vulnerability indices decreased after the dam heightening project for all reservoirs, and the indices have increasing tendencies in the future. The indices developed in this study can be useful to determine the priority and to evaluate the effect of rehabilitation for hydraulic structures.

This study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of simultaneous selection (selection indices) using estimated genetic gains in yellow passion fruit and to make a comparison between the methodologies of Mulamba & Mock and Elston. The study was conducted with 26 sib progenies of yellow passion fruit for intrinsic production characteristics including fruit number, fruit mass, fruit length and diameter, and for the fruit characteristics skin thickness, soluble solids and acidity. Two methodologies were applied: first, in the joint analysis of fruit characteristics and of intrinsic production characteristics in a single phase of selection; and second, in the analysis in two phases, in which priority was given to the intrinsic production characteristics in the first phase, and later, in the second phase, the best fruit characteristics were chosen among the progenies of the first phase. The analysis of variance was applied to the data to detect genetic variability among progenies. The Elston's selection indice was unable to provide distribution of genetic gains consistent with the purposes of the study, as it selected a single progeny of passion fruit. However, the index based on the sum of ranks of Mulamba & Mock was more suitable, as it provided a balanced distribution of gains, selecting a larger number of progenies. The methodology of selection using indices is advantageous in passion fruit, since it contributes to higher genetic gains for all the traits evaluated, and the selection in a single phase was proved efficient for progeny selection.

The success of Healthy Indonesia Program with Family Approach is well measured by Healthy Family Index (HFI). The numbers of twelve indicators of HFI were decided as the marker of family health status. National Institute of Health Research and Development Ministry of Health has created Public Health Development Index (PHDI) which purpose to measure individual health status in certain area before the HFI is formed. To resolve health problems in both indices should be through joining program interventions. This analysis aims to determine what indicators are expected to provide leverage on both indices, thus more targeted indicators can be obtained as a program priority. Basic Health Research 2013 data is used as the compilers of PHDI and HFI in 497 districts/cities. The data has been processed to be an indicator per district/city and then analyzed using linear regression test. There are fi ve priority indicators that have a leverage on both indices that is access to clean water, access to sanitation, health care insurance ownership, family planning program, and birth delivery by health worker in health facility. The model for adjusting HFI has a correlation value of 0.932, while the correlation for PHDI is 0.796. It is expected that intervention on these fi ve indicators will increase the HFI and PHDI, therefore the goal for becoming a healthy Indonesia can be achieved. It needs a cross-sector collaboration to build health care facilities that support health of the community. Abstrak Keberhasilan Program Indonesia Sehat (PIS) dengan Pendekatan Keluarga (PK) diukur dengan Indeks Keluarga Sehat (IKS). Jumlah IKS yang telah disepakati terdiri dari 12 indikator sebagai penanda status kesehatan sebuah keluarga. Badan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesehatan Kementerian Kesehatan (Balitbangkes) telah menyusun Indeks Pembangunan Kesehatan Masyarakat (IPKM) yang berfungsi mengukur status kesehatan individu pada suatu wilayah sebelum IKS terbentuk. Penyelesaian masalah kesehatan pada kedua indeks tersebut harus dilakukan intervensi program yang sejalan. Analisis ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui indikator apa saja yang dapat memberikan daya ungkit pada kedua indeks, sehingga dapat diperoleh indikator yang lebih mengerucut untuk dijadikan prioritas program. Data yang digunakan adalah data Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Riskesdas) tahun 2013 sebagai penyusun IPKM dan IKS pada 497 kabupaten/kota. Uji statistik menggunakan data yang sudah dianalisis menjadi indikator per kabupaten/kota. Berdasarkan uji regresi linier, terdapat lima indikator yang dapat menjadi prioritas untuk memberikan daya ungkit pada kedua indeks yaitu akses air,akses sanitasi, kepemilikan jaminan kesehatan, program keluarga berencana, dan persalinan oleh nakes di faskes. Model untuk perubahan IKS mempunyai nilai korelasi sebesar 0,932, sedangkan nilai korelasi perubahan IPKM sebesar 0,796. Diharapkan jika dilakukan intervensi pada lima indikator tersebut akan meningkatkan IKS dan IPKM, sehingga tujuan menjadi Indonesia sehat dapat tercapai. Kerja sama lintas sektor untuk penyediaan pembangunan fasilitas kesehatan yang mendukung kesehatan masyarakat.

Traffic congestion is a common problem in merging regions of freeway networks. An adaptive integrated control method involving variable speed limits and ramp metering is presented with the aim of easing traffic congestion at merging regions. The problem of the imbalanced rights of ways of the upstream mainline and on-ramp at the merging region is solved by constructing the evaluation indices of congestion degree. Specifically, the traffic density and queue length of the upstream mainline and on-ramp are selected for use in the evaluation indices. Then, an adaptive controller is designed, integrating variable speed limits and ramp metering. The proposed method is tested in simulations considering a real freeway network in China calibrated by real traffic variables. The results show that the proposed adaptive integrated control method can prevent traffic flow breakdown and maintain a high outflow at the merging region during peak periods. The adaptive integrated control may lead to a 17% improvement in traffic delay.

The Performance Evaluation Matrix (PEM) is an excellent decision-making tool for assessment and resource management. Satisfaction Index and Importance Index are two important evaluation indicators of construction and PEM. Managers can decide whether the service item needs to be improved based on the Satisfaction Index of the service item. When resources are limited, managers can determine the priority of improving the service item based on the Importance Index. In order to avoid the risk of misjudgment caused by sample errors and meet the needs of enterprises’ rapid decision-making, this study proposed a fuzzy test built on the confidence intervals of the above two key indicators to decide whether essential service items should be improved and determine the priority of improvement. Since the fuzzy test was relatively complex, this study further came up with fuzzy evaluation values and fuzzy evaluation critical values of service items following fuzzy testing rules. Besides, evaluation rules were established to facilitate industrial applications. This approach can be completed with any common word processing software, so it is relatively convenient in application and easy to manage. Finally, an application example was presented in this paper to explain the applicability of the proposed approach.

The present research with the purpose of focusing on crisis management and describing its indices on revitalization of urban decay structure, examines the effective factors on revitalization of urban decay structure in Jomhouri neighborhood with the approach of crisis management. The research methodology from viewpoint of nature is descriptive- analytical and through comparing the defined indices obtained from theoretical fundamentals, the related data were analyzed by using statistical methods and SPSS software and also it is benefit from Expert Choice software. Through examining the effective factors for prioritizing intervention methods for decay structure the following 5 items based on priority were recognized and classified: Land adjustment of plaques (with final point of 0.79) as first priority, widening roads (with final point of 0.71) as second priority, consolidation of building (with final point of 0.57), reconstruction and granting bonus floor area ratio with points of 0.55 and 0.49 as fourth and fifth priority.

In this study, we assessed the co-occurrence influence of Hyptis suaveolens and Urena lobata on native plant species and soil properties in a guinea savanna vegetation in Nigeria. We sampled 120 plots of 10 × 10 m2 with 30 plots each in sites invaded by H. suaveolens, U. lobata, mixed site and in sites with none of the species (control). A sparse partial least square discriminant analysis was used to assess the effect of invasive plant treatments on the plant diversity and soil properties, whereas the relationships between the soil properties, plant diversity and invasive species treatments were assessed using the canonical correspondence analysis. The indices of diversity of the control were significantly higher than all the other treatments (p < 0.001) with the mixed site having the lowest. There were significant differences in phosphorus, calcium, aluminium, soil alkalinity and diversity indices among the treatments. The results also indicated that the diversity indices and some soil properties were negatively associated with the mixed site. The negative impacts on the native diversity and change in the soil properties caused by the co-invasion of these two plants are more additive than non-additive. Therefore, priority should be placed on the management of co-invaded sites.

The investing landscape has undergone a significant shift. Investors are interested in stocks that not only increase shareholder wealth but also give high priority to environmental, social, and governance issues. The purpose of the study is to examine the presence of a calendar effect on the BSE sustainability indices. The daily closing prices of the BSE CARBONEX, BSE GREENEX, BSE 100, BSE Sensex, and Nifty have been collected. The study is using various methods like descriptive statistics, the unit root test, the day of the week return, the ordinary least squares method (OLS), and the GARCH (1, 1) model. It is clear from the study results that sustainability index returns follow the pattern of the BSE 100 and Sensex. There is a high positive and statistically significant Tuesday effect during the full sample period and period II. The GARCH (1, 1) model indicates there is a significant Monday effect on all indices. The result obtained in this paper is useful to investors to frame their investment strategy, for academicians to study the performance of the indices for different periods, and for business people to know the trend and tendencies.

Five species of the genusMalacomeleshave been reported to exist in Mexico.Malacomelesis widely distributed in several mountainous ranges in Mexico, although it is unknown where most of the diversity of theMalacomelesgenus is located in the country. The aim of this biogeographic study was to determine the areas of highest diversity of the genusMalacomelesin Mexico based on species richness and diversity indices in order to identify the best regions of Mexico to collect germplasm. The results indicated that most of the diversity of the genusMalacomelesis concentrated in northeast Mexico, mainly in the biogeographic province of Sierra Madre Oriental. In this province, the highest values on three biodiversity indices were found. Thus, this area can be considered as the priority area to collect the germplasm ofMalacomeles.M. denticulatais the predominant and the most interesting species in Mexico from the viewpoint of collecting plant genetic resources; this species is mainly distributed in the provinces of Trans-Mexican Volcanic Axis, Mexican Plateau and Sierra Madre del Sur, where secondary priority areas to collect germplasm are located.

Abstract. Given the complexity of the global epidemiological situation, the struggle for the competitiveness of national economies is exacerbated. For Ukraine, whose economy has now taken the form of deindustrialization, the intensification of innovation is a necessary, extremely important condition for its further development. It was previously thought that the socio-economic development and growth of countries depended mainly on their capital and labor resources, while other lesstangible resources, such as information, training, infrastructure development were treated as external factors influencing market behavior only indirectly. However, overtime, the idea that knowledge management is a determining factor in productivity in both modern and traditional economies is becoming increasingly entrenched. The paper proposes results of the research of Ukraine’s positioning in the global innovation space. It also determines the necessity of priority development of the innovative sphere of the country against the backdrop of crisis phenomena and assesses the position of Ukraine in the Indices characterizing the level of development of the innovative component of the competitiveness of the country’s economy. It underlines the insufficient level of innovation infrastructure development in the country. The authors consider that the basis of Ukrainian innovative competitiveness is the development of institutions, infrastructure and business. These areas need special state support, as their effective implementation is the main competitive advantage of Ukraine. The research was conducted according to the Global Innovation Index sub-indices on the horizon of 2013—2021. Objectives. The article aims to test the original methodology for assessing the investment attractiveness of the priority development areas, as well as identify factors affecting the formation of potential and conditions of the external investment environment. Methods. For the study, I used my own method of assessing investment attractiveness, which includes indicators grouped into three blocks, namely investment potential, investment environment, and investment risk. Results. The article defines priority development areas in the Far East of Russia that are the most attractive for investors. Conclusions. The article concludes that it is necessary to develop measures to stimulate the investment activity of residents of the priority development areas.

This paper examines the comparative advantage of a selection of 27 Nepal’s export products, of which 16 are extracted from the Nepal Trade Integration Strategy (NTIS 2010) list of potential priority exports. The primary purpose of this study is to investigate if these priority export products are in alignment with the concept of comparative advantage. Balassa’s revealed comparative advantage (RCA) index is used as the methodology for analysis while the data used spans from 2000 to 2011. Empirical results show that out of the 16 NTIS 2010 potential priority exports, only 10 are products which Nepal has comparative advantage in producing, major ones being pashmina, wool and agro food products. The findings also reveal that there are at least three other products- carpets, textile and juice that Nepal poses high RCA indices but are not included under NTIS 2010 priority list.
