Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis work concerns the study of the variations of dynamic viscosity and density versus pressure, temperature and composition of a synthetic system which represents an oil cut. It is the ternary mixture Methylcyclohexane + cis-Decaline + 2,2,4,4,6,8,8-Heptamethylnonane. It is defined by 37 compositions between 293. 15 and 353. 15 K and between 0. 1 and 100 MPa (1554 experimental points). It constitutes a system test for the evaluation of representative models. We presented six models: the mixing laws, the self-referencing model, the residual viscosity (Lohrenz-Bray-Clark), a hard spheres theory, of a free volume model and finally the "f-theory" model. Several predictive methods are satisfying: mixing laws, self-referencing, free volume and friction. This work enabled us to also tackle the fundamental problem of the influence of the shape of the molecule on viscosity. Following the study of cis-Decaline we also carried out that of trans-Decaline

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis work is related to the study of density and dynamic viscosity under pressure of alcohol + hydrocarbon mixtures, and development of high pressure electrical conductimeter. Density of ethanol + n-heptane and (n-butanol or n-propanol) + toluene binaries has been measured as a function of the pressure (up to 65 MPa), the temperature (from 293 to 353 K) and the composition (5 pure compounds and 7 mixtures by binary), resulting on 2638 experimental points. With supplementary data from the literature on the 2 binaries ethanol + (methylcyclohexane or toluene), it has been possible to discuss on the volumic properties of the 5 binaries and on evaluation of predictive model PC-SAFT. Dynamic viscosity of ethanol + (toluene or n-heptane) binaries has been measured as a function of the pressure (up to 100 MPa), the temperature (from 293 to 353 K) and the composition (3 pure compounds and 7 mixtures by binary), resulting on 394 experimental points. These data have been analysed with some predictive models: mixing laws, models of hard spheres, free volume, friction theory and molecular dynamic. An electrical conductimeter has been developed in order to measure high electrical conductivity of petroleum brine (up to 2000 mS. Cm-1) under high pressure and high temperature. Bibliographic study has allowed to choose the direct contact method with 4 electrodes and alternative current. Measurements of KCl and LiCl aqueous solutions, with concentration from 0. 1 to 4. 5 Molal, up to 100 MPa and at 298 K, have permitted to valid the device in this range of measurement, with a precision of ± 3 %

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe knowledge of the physico-chemical properties of polymer solutions for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) is crucial to optimize the process. The purpose of this work was to consolidate and complete an universal viscosity model depending on C[η] parameter. The later allows taking into account the degree of interpenetration of polymer chains (critical concentration, C*, diluted and semi-diluted solutions). Various polymer parameters have been studied as the effects of microstructures, polymer size (molar mass and dispersity) as well as chemical composition. A library of polymer models was elaborated by controlled radical polymerization (RADT/MADIX). Series of polyacrylamides, statistical and asymmetric copolymers of acrylamide-sodium acrylate and post-hydrolyzed polyacrylamides were synthesized and characterized by steric exclusion chromatography and capillary rheology and the analytical protocols and techniques were optimized. The effects of the microstructure onto dimensional, rheological and complexation physico-chemical properties were determined

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe Report for Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning is divided in two parts: first a review of the professional and personal development, then a scientific review of published papers, attached as appendix. Research works presented in this report are dedicated to the experimental study of viscous water injection in heavy oil. In this corpus of experiments, water is made more viscous by mixing it with partially hydrolysed polyacrylamide (HPAM), hereby reducing the mobility of the aqueous phase injected in the hydrocarbon reservoir and increasing the volume of oil produced. The experimental results presented aim firstly at quantifying the impact of experimental conditions on waterflooding and polymer flooding recovery, secondly at examining whether the injection sequence (water then polymer) influences the oil production and pressure evolution. In this experimental set, the waterflood recoveries range from 15% to 30% after one pore volume injected, depending on oil viscosity (from 2000cP to 7000cP), injection geometry (radial or linear), and injection rail characteristics. With the modelling assumptions considered in this work, hysteretic relative permeabilities were needed to match consistently the experiments of all slab sizes. Such hysteresis is interpreted to be the trapping of water during the mobilization of oil bank displaced by the viscous water solution. However, the modelling approach still requires an upscaling step to extrapolate the experimental results to field scale
