The two types of custom housings for the maturity sensor made of twocomponent plastic were proposed and subjected to durability testing in this study. The first rectangular housing was made of two parts connected by 6 screws and waterproofed with rubber. The second housing was made keg-shaped with a cylindrical keg and screw-on cap. The housings were tested for water resistance, integrity when dropped, and load resistance on three sides using an electromechanical press-machine. At compression tests, both housings demonstrated fairly acceptable resistances, ranging from 0.6 to 2.11 kPa. If referring to the weight applied, it may be supposed that the housings may bear from 65.3 to 165.3 kg depending on the sides, on which the loads are applied. The integrity tests did not cause notable damage on both types of housings, while the water-resistance test revealed the weakness of rectangular housing that failed the test at 3 days of submerging. Comparatively, the cylindrical housing turned out to be more reliable, since its average resistance deviation on all sides appeared to be twice less than those in rectangular one. Moreover, the keg-shaped housing turned out to be waterproof, less material, and labor-intensive.

Formal housing development in Indonesia is supported by the availability of social facilities to develop social, economy, and culture of residents. Social facilities have an essential role to enhance the social values of residents by providing a space for interaction. This paper aims to examine utilization of social facilities to reinforce social interaction in a neighborhood by comparing the utilization of social facilities at two formal housings, built by the government and a private developer. The analytical method used is quantitative descriptive analysis through Crosstab Analysis. The study presented that the accessibility is the most important factor influencing the use of social facilities. Furthermore, social facilities at a private housing development are more effective to conduct social interaction than at a public housing development. Social facilities at private housing developments have a significant role as spaces for gathering and fostering social relationships among residents. Meanwhile, social interaction among residents at a public housing development is regardless of the use of social facilities due to a sense of community.

Regional development strategy emphasizes economic growth, then growth and employment opportunities, growth and equity, emphasis on basic basic need approach, growth and the environment and sustainable development . Regional development that can cause spatial changes in urban areas will encourage population growth, thus forming a new social and cultural life for residents in urban areas. This phenomenon of spatial change will encourage revolutionary changes to the spatial area. The current condition of spatial change is the designation of new activities such as residential areas for community dwellings. Housing development is a multi-sectoral activity and is closely related to community welfare. In its development, the housing sector, which should be the spearhead in urban development, often contributes serious problems for life in the city itself. Many problems stem from the housing sector, such as the unavailability of a proper housing environment. This problem is often a problem that cannot be handled optimally. Not to mention, the growth and development of housing that does not pay attention to the interests of the community from various circles, especially the low-income community, can create gaps and difficulties for MBR in obtaining decent and affordable housing. Vertical housing is a new breakthrough in minimizing land use conversion for housing, so that the problem of limited land can be solved and land use becomes more optimal. In addition, with the construction of vertical housing, it will be able to reduce the cost of buying land which is already very expensive. In the future, in developing vertical housing in addition to meeting the community's needs for residential housing, it is necessary to design sustainable housing development policies by prioritizing community participation. Therefore, in accordance with public perceptions regarding vertical housing, the development of vertical housing must lead to sustainable development that pays attention to social, economic and environmental aspects.

The number of Chinese citizens aged 60 years and above is predicted to reach to 440 million by 2050, accounting for roughly 34 percent of the country's total population. The one-child policy has created a declining fertility rate. At the same time, the life expectancy of people keeps rising. The combination of low fertility and long life spans have moved China towards a rapidly aging society. To prepare for the aging society, the Chinese government has issued a series of policies to enhance the senior care industry. The government encourages private and foreign enterprises to invest and engage in senior care services in China. Chinese developers and operators are trying to import foreign practices into the Chinese context. Foreign experts are looking for business opportunities in this untapped market. Although China's senior housing market is undoubtedly appealing, industry players must address several issues before stepping into this market because it is still in infancy period compared to other developed countries. The study examines the key factors that influence senior housing development in China, and those essential elements that foster the industry in U.S.

Sub-Saharan Africa has been experiencing phenomenal population growth since the beginning of the 20th Century, following several centuries of population stagnation attributable to the slave trade and colonization. The region's population in fact increased from 100 million in 1900 to 770 million in 2005. The latest United Nations projections, published in March 2007, envisaged a figure of 1.5 to 2 billion inhabitants being reached between the present and 2050 (CEPED, 2008). The growth in population poses a lot of challenges for Governments of these countries, not the least is housing the masses. Some governments have explored industrialized building systems (IBS) -- PREFAB HOUSES to address the housing shortage. The social and economic factors in these countries have impeded the success of these housing initiatives. In 1952 the then Gold Coast government explored the possibility of employing industrialized Building Systems (IBS) -- PREFAB HOUSES to relieve the housing shortage in the country, then a British colony. The government engaged Messrs. N. V. Schokbeton of Kampen, Holland as consultant of the project and producers of the Prefab houses. The program was abandoned on the recommendation of the United Nations Technical Assistance Mission on Housing to Ghana. This essence of this paper is to reviews the UN report to the government of Gold Coast to learn why the project failed and what might be done to make such a project successful in the 21st century . This paper uses case studies to show countries that have successfully and unsuccessfully employed Industrialized Building Systems (IBS) -- PREFAB HOUSES to address housing shortage. Finally, this paper employs a survey to gauge the interest - the willingness of the middle income Ghanaian to adopt prefab houses as dwelling units.

Annotation:
Urban land prices have important effects on urban development and locational distribution of land-uses. Housing is one of those sectors. There are high-density residential areas covering high-rise apartments at the city center where the land prices are quite high. Here, sizes of the plots and the housing units are relatively small. However, land prices begin to decrease with the increasing distance from the city center and the production of low-density, low-rise housing which is economically unfeasible at the center turns to be feasible for the housebuilders at the outskirts. Low-rise houses at the urban fringe provides various opportunities for the households. In these areas, plots and housing units are relatively larger due to cheap and available land. In addition to this, better urban services, quiet and clean environment as well as privacy contribute to create a livable urban environment. However, households living in low-rise housing units are subject to high transportation and maintenance costs. It is expected that they would compensate these costs with larger housing units, prestigious urban environment and many opportunities that their neighborhoods offer. Urbanization processes may be differ from one country to another with respect to the socio-economic and political structures, and the environmental characteristics. In that sense, low-rise housing areas at the urban fringe of Ankara were found to be developed highly compatible with urban land use theories
but different from the processes experienced in developed countries, to some extent. With regard to these, low-rise housing development in Ankara is discussed according to plan decisions, housebuilders, households and urban development pattern, considering the theoretical basis and historical processes.

New additive metal powder technologies are increasingly used for various prototypes. Different powder materials can be used for very complex shapes. Water hydraulics needs new technologies and new approaches to enable more frequent use by users. A new shape of housing for a water hydraulic proportional directional control valve was designed. FEM and CFD analyses of the valve housing were performed. Based on the results of the initial numerical analyses, topological optimization of the valve housing was performed. The prototype of the valve was fabricated from non-corrosive Inconel powder using 3D printing process. After machining, the valve was assembled and experimentally validated on the water hydraulic test rig. The new 3D-printed Inconel valve housing is more than 3 times lighter than similar housings of industrial valves.

Property reuse secures the reuse of developed land as part of new projects, cleans up polluted properties, and reuses and uses the land around development or social housing. Identifying unoccupied land and determining which properties may be used for social housing are significant challenges to regenerating idle land. Most municipalities need appropriate economic incentives to assist in maintaining and restoring unoccupied land, abandoned constructions, cultural assets, and historical buildings. It is challenging to determine deserted terrain using picture classification, since the morphology of such areas can include, among other characteristics, abandoned structures and barren soil. Although it may solve significant issues, social housing offers people a secure, long-term residence. In many countries, social integration remains the main objective of the social housing sector. However, the sector has an increasing proportion of low-income and vulnerable renters and a smaller range of income levels. This may threaten the industry’s economic viability and exacerbate the geographical concentration of poverty and disadvantages. What will the total effect of the reuse of property for social housing be? is the research question. What types of properties may be used for social housing? How do you recognise them?
