Realization of optimum yield per hectare in maize production has always been a challenge especially when using home-developed equipment. The objectives of this research was to evaluate the effect of ground speed, hopper seed quantity and planting depth on plant spacing, germination count, and seed delivery rate of a home-developed four-row animal drawn precision maize planter using a pair of bull to plant SAMMAZ 17 maize variety on a harrowed field. It was drawn by a pair of bull in a 3×3×2 randomized complete block experimental design. The treatment factors were three levels of hopper seed quantity (25%, 50% and 100%), three levels of ground speed (2.16, 2.88, and 3.6 km/h) and two levels of planting depth (15 and 25 mm). The results showed that the effects of planting speed, seed quantity and planting depth were highly significant on the planting performance of the machine. The optimum mean seed spacing, germination counts, field efficiency and seed delivery rate of 23.52 cm, 100 %, 86.9% and 20.3 kg/ha respectively were obtained. The study show that optimum seed stand could be achieved with home-developed planted for optimum yield when ground speed, hopper seed quantity and planting depth were varied appropriately.

Residential locations, the jobs–housing relationship, and commuting patterns are key elements to understand urban spatial structure and how city dwellers live. Their successive interaction is important for various fields including urban planning, transport, intraurban migration studies, and social science. However, understanding of the long-term trajectories of workplace and home location, and the resulting commuting patterns, is still limited due to lack of year-to-year data tracking individual behavior. With a 7-y transit smartcard dataset, this paper traces individual trajectories of residences and workplaces. Based on in-metro travel times before and after job and/or home moves, we find that 45 min is an inflection point where the behavioral preference changes. Commuters whose travel time exceeds the point prefer to shorten commutes via moves, while others with shorter commutes tend to increase travel time for better jobs and/or residences. Moreover, we capture four mobility groups: home mover, job hopper, job-and-residence switcher, and stayer. This paper studies how these groups trade off travel time and housing expenditure with their job and housing patterns. Stayers with high job and housing stability tend to be home (apartment unit) owners subject to middle- to high-income groups. Home movers work at places similar to stayers, while they may upgrade from tenancy to ownership. Switchers increase commute time as well as housing expenditure via job and home moves, as they pay for better residences and work farther from home. Job hoppers mainly reside in the suburbs, suffer from long commutes, change jobs frequently, and are likely to be low-income migrants.

A model of a fine-grained bulk material stress state in a conical hopper hole under vibration during material unloading is proposed. For the study, it is used a model of a discrete medium based on a balance of a small thickness elementary volume, in which the stress redistribution occurs by opening an outlet at the hopper bottom. A formula for determining the material radial stress in the discharge conical hopper hole is obtained, taking into account all force factors influencing the bulk material behavior. The influence of humidity, shape and geometric parameters of the hopper, and vibration intensity on the change of the bulk material stress state is investigated. As a result, the efficiency of vibration to improve the conditions of the fine-grained bulk material leakage from the hoppers is established.

This article describes the influence of dynamic bridging in the unloading of a hopper at a processing plant on the grain flow homogeneity in a convective-microwave zone. In accordance with calculation methods for unloading hoppers, the parameters of the hopper unit and those of the outlet hole insuring that grain flows without static bridging formation is defined. It was found that moisture content fluctuations do not affect the process of grain transport. The equation for dynamic bridging rise depending on its position on the vertical axis of the unloading hopper has been deduced that enables the definition of the inhomogeneity of grain flow from its outlet hole. Calculations show that a certain inhomogeneity occurred between the right and the left parts of the unloading hopper in relation to its vertical axis in the course of grain discharging. This effect underlies the inhomogeneity of grain processing and reduction of its effectiveness in convective-microwave zones. An experimental model of unloading the hopper has been manufactured in order to perform investigational studies. The results of studies have completely confirmed the hypotheses. It has been found that dynamic bridge formation in unloading of the hopper results in the inhomogeneity of grain flow in convective-microwave zone.

Purpose. The leakage process of the fine grained bulk material (BM) from the unloading hopper is considered. As known the BM behaviour during the unloading process is directly related to the material stress state (active or passive) inside the hopper, which depends on the physical and mechanical bulk material properties, as well as hopper geometric parameters. At the boundary of the transition from the cylindrical part to the conical part of the unloading hopper hole, the horizontal stresses that precede the leakage of the material increase sharply. The use of vibration reduces horizontal stresses in the hopper and thus improves the bulk product fluidity. Also, the use of vibration reduces the probability of the free-fall arch formation over the outlet. Therefore, the present paper is aimed at developing the mathematical model of the fine grained bulk material flow under the vibration action from the conical hopper hole. Methodology. It is used one of the methods of studying the BM behavior, namely the analysis of the stress state of the conditionally stationary (pseudo-stationary) layer of the product and the force balance equation in the free-fall arch is made for further study of the geometric parameters of the unloading hole. Findings. In this paper, the mathematical model of the BM behavior in the conical hopper hole is developed. Since the most determining factor influencing the hopper productivity is the outlet diameter, so based on the developed model, it is established relationships that allow determining all parameters that affect the diameter. Graphical dependences are obtained, which allow to estimate the influence of the angle inclination of the hopper hole walls on the value of the hopper outlet size at active and passive stress states. The dependence of the diameter of the unloading hopper hole on the BM properties is also established. The BM properties directly affect the initial shear resistance of the material. The influence of vibration on the unloading hole geometry is presented. Originality. The pseudo-immobile layer of bulk product is considered in the developed mathematical model, and it is investigated how vibration affects the BM behavior in this layer. Practical value. The practical value of this paper lies in the possibility of further mathematical modeling of the influence of the BM properties, hopper geometric dimensions and vibration on the product behavior in the material leakage process from the hopper. The results of the studies, presented in the form of graphs, can be used during the vibrating hopper design and the selection of rational modes of hopper operation.

The most important and commonly grown vegetable for both raw and cooked purposes is brinjal, or Solanum melongena Linnaeus. It is a member of the solanaceae family and is also known as eggplant or baingan. Nevertheless, it faces significant threat from a prominent pest known as the eggplant shoot and fruit borer, scientifically termed Leucinodes orbonalis Guenee, capable of inflicting damage ranging from 37% to 100%. This pest can also diminish both the quantity and quality of eggplant produced. Farmers persist in depending on pesticides to address this problem; nevertheless, excessive pesticide application has resulted in negative impacts on the environment, unintended beneficial organisms, phytotoxicity, pesticide resistance, pest resurgence, bioaccumulation, and secondary pest outbreaks. In different regions of the world, it has been discovered that a number of insects, including Various pests such as the Fruit and Shoot Borer, White Fly, Leaf Hopper, Thrips, Mites, Leaf Roller, and Red Spider Mite contribute to losses in eggplant. Moreover, this insect can also cause severe harm to other vegetables within the Solanaceae family, acting as an alternative host. The adult insect can eventually withstand the problems of chemical pesticides and find it challenging to control the insect population in standing crops due to the larva's unique ability to subsist on a monophagous diet supported by homing and tunneling behavior. It results in a decrease in both yield and vitamin C content. This is due to the fact that high humidity and moderate temperatures encourage the population growth of the Brinjal Fruit and Shoot Borer, which results in significant losses in hot, humid weather. Farmers primarily use chemical insecticides, which they apply carelessly to manage this pest. A lot of farmers also employ biological control techniques and home-based remedies like marigold barriers, cow urine, ashes, and so forth. Farmers are unable to totally manage the infestation, though, and the measures cost more to produce than they really bring.

The process of planting corn using conventional methods that have been happening in the community so far has become a problem faced by partners. As a result, the corn planting process takes a long time due to the stages of land preparation, seed placement, and corn covering not occurring simultaneously. By providing training and direct assistance to partners on the use of corn seed planting tools, it can improve their understanding and skills in using the tool effectively. By conducting socialization methods to provide understanding to partners with the aim of the community understanding the use of corn seed planting tools based on the double seed hopper and understanding how to maintain the tool. Thus, with this tool, the corn seed planting process becomes faster. Corn planting is the most widely produced crop in the world, and corn seed plants are most suitable for planting in high-temperature areas. Especially in Indonesia, corn plants cover more than 100 million hectares, consisting of 70 countries and even 53 developing countries. The tool being socialized is a simple tool that is used with human power by pushing without the use of motorized equipment. In the planting process, the spacing between corn seed plants and the number of corn seeds can be adjusted during the planting process. The vessel or container supplying corn seeds is a hopper located at the top, and a hole is provided at the bottom of the hopper, which is the outlet channel. Jute is the most important phloem fiber crop of the world, and is mainly grown in the South East Asian countries of India, Bangladesh, Nepal, China, Indonesia, Thailand, and Myanmar, and few South American countries. The fiber is used in making sacks, ropes, bags, carpets, shoes, geo-textiles, and home decorations. There are two kinds of jute: tossa jute (Corchorus olitorius L.) and white jute (C. capsularis). In June 2012, symptoms suggestive of phytoplasma infection (little leaf and bunchy top) were noticed on tossa jute in different experimental fields of the CRIJAF research farm, Barrackpore, India, and the incidence of the disease varied from 5 to 20%. The infected plants showed profuse lateral branching with a bushy appearance. In many plants, branching at the apical portion developed a bunchy top symptom with tufts of smaller leaves. Leafy stem was also common in many plants with main stems covered with numerous little leaves. Total DNA was extracted from leaf midveins of 15 symptomatic and 5 asymptomatic plants by using an improved salt concentration and simple sodium acetate CTAB method (1). PCR was carried out with universal P1/P7 primer set followed by nested primer pair R16F2n/R16R2 (3), resulting in DNA amplicons that were 1.8 kb and 1.2 kb, respectively, in all symptomatic samples tested. Phytoplasma was not detected in symptomless samples. The five purified nested products were cloned in a pGEM-T Easy vector (Promega) and sequenced. One of the sequences that proved to be identical was deposited in GenBank (Accession No. KF501045). The consensus sequence was analyzed by NCBI BLAST and found to share 99% similarity with the 16Sr DNA sequence of the alder yellows phytoplasma reference strain (GenBank Accession No. AY028789), which belongs to the 16SrV group. The phylogenetic tree based on the 16SrDNA sequence of phytoplasmas belonging to group 16SrV and other distinct phytoplasma groups also showed that the phytoplasma clustered with members of subgroup 16SrV (4). Subsequently, in silico RFLP analysis of the nested PCR product with the pDRAW32 program using AluI and TruI restriction site used for 16SrV subgroups A, B, C, D, and E indicated that the 16SrV Corchorus strain belonged to subgroup C. RFLP patterns from all symptomatic C. olitorius samples were identical to the 16SrV-C pattern (2). The vector species transmitting the concerned phytoplasma in C. olitorius still needs to be identified. The leaf hopper, Amrasca biguttula biguttula, may be a potential vector as it is often noticed in jute fields. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of 16SrV-C phytoplasma associated with tossa jute (C. olitorius) in India. The criminological, penologic-andragogical, psychological and sociological literature, here and abroad, teaches us that even the most severe forms of punishment throughout the history have not succeeded to reduce crime rates and recidivism. Therefore, the treatment of convicts based on education, training and employment, should have the best chances to prepare convicts for the life after the expiration of their penalties, which is actually the purpose of prison sentence execution (Law on Execution of Criminal Sanctions of the Republic of Serbia). The results of researches worldwide, indicate that the educational level, professional qualification and skills of convicts are lower than the average of general population. Low level of professional qualification and lack of skills necessary for the integration into the working world, additionally aggravate the employment of convicts once they are released from prison. Numerous researches suggest that the inclusion of convicts in the proces of professional training has multiple positive effects on the educational level, reducing recidivism, increasing employment opportunities after release, as well as on improvement of convicts´ behaviour in prison. The hope of ”recovery” is the biggest challenge for the detained and for those who put them under detention, and professional education is emerging as a good lead on that way. This paper is dedicated to the analysis of results of the research on effects of educational process and vocational training on convicts.

In agriculture and feed production, seeds and grains of various crops that require cleaning and separation are used as sowing material and raw materials. For seed and grain cleaning and separation the separators of different type are used. During operation, these separators take into account the physical and mechanical properties of the raw material. The article proposes the design of bulk material separator of scissor type, which has small dimensions and is easy to maintain. The efficiency of separator depends on the uniformity of the bulk material loading on the sieve surface. Therefore, substantiation of rational parameters of separator is an extremely important task. So, the aim of the study is to model the loading process of bulk material from the unloading hole of the hopper on an inclined flat sieve of the scissor-type separator, which performs oscillating motion. The proposed mathematical model of the bulk material loading from the hopper to the separator sieve allows us to determine the trajectory of the particle falling and to describe the position of the sieve, which changes due to the rotation of the eccentric. Also, modeling allows us to justify the rational parameters of the separator, taking into account the kinematic mode of its operation. Under these parameters, a layer of material of the same height will be formed on the sieve, which will provide favorable conditions for the separation process. In addition, the mathematical model allows us to determine the rational parameters of the relative position of the hopper and the sieve. In this case the entire surface of the sieve is used effectively.

The article deals with the development of controlled blast design patterns and methodologies for excavation of hard rock for foundation work of a track hopper in a running thermal power plant in close proximity of many sensitive structures. Test blasts were conducted with different blast geometries and charge loading patterns at selected locations. The results of the test blasts were analysed to evolve safe controlled blast design patterns and methodologies for completing the total excavation work. The threshold value of vibration for the safety of various structures/foundations present has been taken as 25 mm/s based on the dominant frequency content as well as guidelines from the regulatory authority. The dominant frequency content of the ground vibration waves was in the range of 10–40 Hz. Controlled blast design parameters, namely maximum explosive per delay, size of the blasts and blast geometry were formulated based on established ground vibration predictor equation and nearness of structures concerned from the blasting point. Two blasting zones were classified for safe excavation work. For the first zone within 20 m from the structures, controlled blasting using 32-mm diameter blast holes with small blast geometry was suggested, whereas for the second zone beyond 20 m, controlled blasting with 100-mm diameter holes with lesser hole depth and limited number of holes was suggested. The whole excavation work in the track hopper area was completed safely without causing any damage to the nearby sensitive structures of the running thermal power plant.

Introduction - Ongoing Covid-19 Calamity: As a disease, COVID-19 is still in the pandemic phase because infections continue to increasingly occur world-wide and various population groups are still susceptible. It is likely that the SARS-CoV-2 will not be eradicated but become endemic and continue to circulate and cause infections in pockets of the global populations for years to come. It may evolve into more transmissible and virulent forms with novel mutations and variants, and associated factors may worsen the overall scenario with involvement of newer population groups and world regions. Mutations, Variants and Immune Escape: The unabated prevalence increases risk of mutations, as the virus has more chances to mutate. Further, in areas where the incidence rates are high, selection pressures favour the emergence of variants that evade neutralising antibodies. Furthermore, as population groups receive vaccination, immune pressure is conjectured to facilitate and speed up the emergence of such variants by selecting for escape mutants. In due course, these selected variants would replace previous versions of the virus propelling the pandemic or the endemic disease later on. Associated Uncertainties with SARS-CoV-2: There are various associated uncertainties with the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the disease it causes. Due to evolving genomic changes, the virus elicits erratic and labile immune response. Simultaneously, the host factors are highly variable and largely uncontrollable. Further, the control measures and available vaccines for COVID-19 may not reduce the prevalence of infections drastically for multiple reasons. These epidemiological drivers would lead to persistence of the virus and endemicity of the disease interspersed by periodic outbreaks and re-emergence. The Human Life during Covid-19 Pandemic: With COVID-19 becoming an endemic disease, the SARS-CoV-2 virus would be first encountered during childhood, typically causing mild manifestations or none. The population groups will develop some immunity through natural infection or vaccination and may not suffer with severe illness, except in those with comorbid conditions or immune-compromised states, and the disease course would depend on evolving variants, efficacy of vaccines, and nature of immunity to the virus. The herd immunity against SARS-CoV-2 may remain a myth and with individual immunity being labile and waning after 6-8 months, booster doses of updated vaccine will be required at regular intervals. Future Scenario and Search for Solutions: To mitigate the spread of SARS-CoV-2 virus, various countries have implemented a wide range of control measures from time to time and likely to resort to, in future as well. There is need for genotyping and genomic sequencing capability for quick and effective utilization of epidemiological data. Simultaneously, the large deployment of COVID-19 vaccines under way needs a rapid and effective global effort. The next-generation vaccines may stimulate T cells effectively, apart from generating antibodies against the virus, and there is possibility of designing a universal coronavirus vaccine or pan-virus vaccine for immunisation against multiple variants and strains. On the therapeutic side, use of probiotics as adjuvant therapy may Improve the prognosis and clinical outcomes in COVID-19.

The use of biomass as a source of energy has been identified to be energy intensive, involving high handling costs. However, pelletization reduces the bulk density of biomass, thereby reducing the handling costs and enhancing ease of use. This study modified and evaluated an existing hand-operated fish feed pelleting machine. The parts of the machine that were redesigned were the hopper and the power transmission unit. Corncob was used to evaluate the modified machine using the die hole diameter (5, 6 and 7 mm) and the binder quantity (0, 2.5 and 5 wt%) as factors. The average results obtained for machine efficiency, throughput, pellet length and bulk density were 58.83%, 4.24 kg/h, 15.51 mm and 0.160 g/cm3, respectively. The die hole diameter had a significant effect on the pellet length only. The binder quantity had a significant effect on machine efficiency, throughput and pellet length. Machine efficiency and throughput decreased as the quantity of binder increased, and the pellet length increased with the increasing quantity of binder.

Any processing of bulk materials requires their moving and uniform feed (dosage). On this depends the quality and efficiency of many technological processes. For uniform and controlled supply of bulk, materials for transporting or processing machines use feeders. Among feeders in recent years, an increasing distribution received disk vibrating feeders, which are characterized by small size, without moving parts, prostate, reliability, accuracy and smooth control supply. Disk vibrating feeder has a horizontal spreading disk, which is located coaxially and with a gap below the outlet of the hopper. Spreading disk is connected with vibratory drive. This research was aimed at finding technical solutions ensuring the reduction of specific energy consumption of disk vibrating feeder. The study showed, that if the spreading disc perform with a central hole, which is closed by an elastic membrane, then this can significantly reduce the specific energy consumption per unit of production.

Este trabajo tiene por objetivo general, realizar un análisis de la dinámica de la violencia en México y sus entidades federativas, y su efecto en los niveles de la mortalidad. Las siguientes preguntas orientaron y dieron forma a la narrativa seguida en este documento: ¿Cómo se ha comportado la violencia en México a lo largo del siglo pasado y del siglo actual? ¿Es el clima de violencia referido un hecho inédito en estos años, o ha sido una constante en la historia mexi-cana? ¿Cómo ha cambiado este fenómeno en los territorios del país? ¿Cuál es el impacto de la violencia en los niveles de la mortalidad general? Los resultados muestran que el fenómeno de la violencia no es inédito, sin embargo, el número de muertes violentas sí, lo cual ha afectado de manera importante el incremento en la esperanza de vida al nacer, sobre todo entre los hombres, reflejo de una mayor tasa de homicidios en este grupo poblacional. Otro resultado importante del trabajo es que la esperanza de vida al nacer en México se ha mantenido sin cambios durante el siglo XXI, en alrededor de 75 años, hecho por el cual nuestro país pasará a la historia.

The purpose of this article is to propose a reflection on the importance of the meaning of life for the elderly person. It is known that the phenomenon of aging gains visibility worldwide and points to numerous challenges, especially for some 30 million elderly people in Brazil, according to IBGE statistics. At this stage of life recognizing the potential, beyond stereotypes about aging contributes to minimizing the possible challenges. Through the review of the literature on research in the field of aging it is observed that a significant number of these elderly people are concentrated in the losses and declines that occurred in this stage. However, it becomes possible to broaden the understanding of this phase of life by considering the concepts of Logotherapy. According to Viktor Frankl, the man, endowed with his noetic dimension, driven by the search for meaning in life, walks in search of the values of creation, experience and attitude. As a sense-seeker, the elderly person becomes capable of finding, in his existential walk one for which to live, which enables him to continue drawing meaning in the adverse situations of life. Being able to focus on achievements along the way, the challenges faced, and the experiences recognized as valuable, can help make the stage of aging meaningful. Values can continue as paths that point to meaning, and such a possibility should not be wasted on the road of life. Background: Hope has an essential role in the recovery journey for people with schizophrenia. Current studies showed that people with schizophrenia reported having low hope. There is growing evidence that mindfulness has favorable effects on mental health in populations with chronic illness, including people with schizophrenia. However, the studies evaluating effects of mindfulness on hope and recovery for people with schizophrenia are limited.Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of mindfulness on hope and recovery among people with schizophrenia.Methods: This quasi-experimental study was carried out on 54 patients with schizophrenia based on purposive sampling in a psychiatric hospital in Indonesia. The respondents were divided into two groups with 27 patients each in the intervention and the control group. The intervention group received 2-session mindfulness, while the control group received standard care. The data were collected using the demographic questionnaire, the Schizophrenia Hope Scale (SHS-9), and Recovery Assessment Scale (RAS), and analyzed using the Chi-Square and Mann-Whitney tests. Results: After mindfulness therapy, the intervention group showed a higher mean score of hope than the control group (14.30±2.50 and 9.04±2.15, respectively) as well as in the mean of recovery (86.78±4.00 and 73.56±6.04, respectively). There were significant differences in hope and recovery levels between the two groups with p-value <0.001.Conclusion: This study showed that mindfulness is an effective strategy to stimulate hope and recovery among people with schizophrenia. Nurses can apply mindfulness as one of the nursing interventions for helping the recovery process among this population.

Introdução/objetivo: este artigo tem como objetivo identificar, mediante análise envoltória de dados (DEA, sigla em inglês), a eficiência do gasto em segurança pública nos estados brasileiros mais o Distrito Federal, de 2017 a 2020, com relação aos índices de criminalidade. Metodologia: o artigo é uma pesquisa descritiva e de natureza quantitativa. A técnica da DEA aplicada foi orientada ao modelo BCC (Banker, Charnes & Cooper, 1984 [retorno variável de escala]), com modelo input (orientado aos insumos). A variável de entrada utilizada foi a despesa com segurança pública, enquanto as variáveis de saída foram latrocínios, homicídios dolosos, roubo e furto de veículos, bem como tráfico de entorpecentes. Na sequência, foi executado o método proposto e foram apresentados os resultados encontrados após a análise do modelo. Resultados: os resultados indicam que, no período analisado, em média, a aplicação dos recursos das unidades federativas (UF) tem apresentado um percentual de 73.33%, mas ainda há muitas UF que apresentam potencial para utilizar de forma mais eficiente, quando os seus recursos são comparados aos demais estados. Ademais, os resultados demonstram que houve apenas três estados com eficiência máxima, em todos os anos, no período analisado. Conclusões: ainda há necessidade de que políticas públicas voltadas para a questão da segurança sejam refinadas para que as UF possam atingir maior eficiência dos dispêndios nessa área, com vistas a reduzir os índices de criminalidade. Por fim, a identificação detalhada das causas da ineficiência do estado de Roraima, Brasil, que apresenta maior gasto em segurança pública e menor eficiência técnica, pode contribuir para o entendimento de políticas públicas no âmbito da segurança.

Introduction. Hypospadias is a common congenital abnormality. It may also be associated with other urogenital tract abnormalities. Literature has described more than 300 techniques being used. An objective evaluation is useful for attending doctor and parents to ensure both understands detection of complication and to assess post operative satisfaction from both sides are similar. Thus study sought to assess the outcome of hypospadias repair with objective scoring evaluation from parents’ perspective during COVID-19 era. Methods. This was a retrospective study of all patient post-hypospadias repair in Urology Unit, Hospital Universiti Sains Malaysia from January 2020 to December 2022 during the Covid-19 period. All patient medical records were reviewed. Data analyzed for demographic, surgical treatment, complications, and objective evaluation with HOSE, HOPE and PPPS questionnaire and parents preferred questionnaire to be used using Microsoft Excel for Windows 2003 and qualitative variables were presented as frequencies and simple percentages. Result. Hypospadias A total of 21 pediatric patients operated. The mean age during surgery was 7.2 years old. Distribution of glanular 6 patients, distal 3 patients and majority are proximal hypospadias with 12 patients (57.2%). Proximal hypospadias, 6 proximal penile and 6 penoscrotal. Single stage repair 18 patients and 2 patients had scrotoplasty performed and 3 patients had two stage repairs. Majority of single stage surgery performed was TIP and two stage repairs done with Bracka’s technique. Overall mean follow-up time 16.78 month. Three patients had UCF with 14.3%. Questionnaire with HOSE showed mean score 14.38. The HOPE questionnaire showed mean score of 54.71 and PPPS mean score was 10.2. Majority of parents preferred to use HOPE with 66.7% as compared to HOSE 14.3% and PPPS 19%. Discussion. This study has a small sample size possible due to very low rate for hypospadias in Malaysia and Covid-19 pandemic. Due to the pandemic, European Association of Urology recommended for repair before 18 months. However, if done after 2 years old showed significant predictor for complications. Validated questionnaires are useful and comparable to assess objectively both functional and patient satisfaction. However, HOPE might overestimate quality of cosmetic outcome compared with PPPS. Despite many available evaluation scoring systems were compared, reports show similar conclusions with none being more superior. Conclusion. Hypospadias requires complex surgery and complications are expected but should be within acceptable standards. In COVID-19 era, hypospadias repair had to be delayed and causes negative impact to patients. Despite many various techniques available, surgeons experience and technique preference are very important. There is no evaluation score more superior than another. It has its advantages and disadvantages. Parents satisfaction and functional outcome after repair should be routinely done for objective assessment.

Designing a seeding unit for the combined sowing of grain crops is a relevant and promising area of the development of sowing equipment. For this purpose, the authors designed a universal pneumatic vacuum-type seeding unit capable of sowing seeds of two crops simultaneously by dotted, combined, and nested methods and providing different sowing rates. Openings of the sowing polymer disc are equipped with built-in metal bushings, located at a 20-mm offset from the disc edge. The polymer material was chosen based on greater efficiency compared to a metal disc: longer life, moisture resistance, lower damage to seeds. The developed sowing disc is equipped with round magnetic pads with a diameter larger than the hole diameter, the ratio between the sowing disc diameter and the hole is 1:20; the ratio between the thickness of the magnetic pad and that of the sowing disc is 1:3. Magnetic pads may have up to four holes with a diameter of 1.5 to 2 mm. Due to this feature the sowing device can sow seeds according to different patterns. When sowing seeds in the dotted method, seeds of one crop are fed into a half-part of the sowing unit hopper, a coulter with one slide is installed and a one-hole disc with a magnetic pad is used. The use of a blind magnetic pad makes it possible to change the distance between seeds in the row.
