Energikontor Sydost har startat demonstrationsprojekt inom småskalig kraftvärme. Ronneby Miljö och Teknik AB driver en demonstrationsanläggning för småskalig elproduktion med ORC-turbin på värmeverk i Bräkne-Hoby. I samband med installation av ORC-turbin gjordes även ombyggnation av fjärrvärmeledning till närliggande sågverk. Detta examensarbete är en teknisk- och lönsamhetsanalys för utvärdering av investeringen. Elverkningsgrad uppgick för denna fjärrvärmesäsong till 2,23 %, alfa-värde till 2,3 %, systemverkningsgrad för ORC-system till 99,54 %. Ledningsförluster minskade från 19,7 till 17,25 % efter ombyggnation. Det visades även att sänkning av fjärrvärmereturtemperatur ökar elproduktionen. Investeringskalkyl visade en icke lönsam investering om el säljs externt. Att producera och använda el internt inom anläggningen visade sig lönsamt även utan investeringsstöd. Ombyggnation av fjärrvärmeledning visades även vara lönsamt. Tekniken är vid anslutning till värmeverk förnybar, lokal och har hög tillgänglighet vid högbelastningstider.

Holy Land is an approximately 13 minute long three movement work fororchestra and choir. It is essentially a large scale ternary form, with eachmovement comprising one part of the form. The work is inspired by thecomposer’s experience of growing up in Southern Illinois and by the presenceand influence of religion in the region, to which the title is a sarcastic reference.The first movement of the work, Golden Age, represents the simplicity andinnocence of childhood, and is characterized by long sustained harmonies and aprimarily homophonic texture. The second movement, Seeker of Truth, containsa setting of the E.E. Cummings poem of the same name, and represents anemotionally turbulent adolescence, characterized by fast, perpetual rhythms anda primarily contrapuntal texture. The third movement, A Better Resurrection,contains a setting of an excerpt of the Christina Rossetti poem of the samename, and represents a nihilism-tinged adulthood, with a return to musicalmaterial similar to that of the first movement.

This dissertation is an examination of the pneumatology of Origen of Alexandria. By providing insight into his understanding of the Holy Spirit, it also seeks to reframe the way in which Origen’s Trinitarian theology is understood. In this study, I argue that Origen conceives of the Holy Spirit as a divine person, but inferior in nature. Origen’s pneumatology must be considered in light of his understanding of the Son and Father, as well as the influence of Middle Platonism on his theological and cosmological framework. Origen’s concept of Trinity is a hierarchy of divine persons in which the greater ministers to the existence of the lower. Though Origen recognizes the personhood of the Holy Spirit, he believes that the Spirit is less than the other divine persons, both in person and in work. The Spirit’s origin and attributes, for which Origen has no real scriptural or traditional precedent, he struggles to articulate and often leaves unresolved. I suggest that Origen’s pneumatology can be best understood by examining where he is most clear and consistent: the work of the Holy Spirit. Origen consistently portrays the Spirit as participating in the divine work of salvation; his Trintarianism is strongly economic, emphasizing shared work and will. The Spirit’s specific role in the economy is to indwell and assist the saints, in line with his lesser status. There are two ways in which the Holy Spirit’s activity can be framed: (1) in the Trinitarian and downward action of God, in which the Spirit is the direct distributor of the divine gifts and graces and (2) the Spirit’s upward work of revelation and sanctification, by which he leads the saints to the Son and Father. The Spirit thus serves as the practical and personal initiator of believers into the greater processes of salvation and deification.

The records and archives pertaining to the history of European settlement in what is now Canada are filled with hagiographic texts – documents that describe the life, death and miracles of individuals who were regarded as holy by their authors. While the names and vocations of many of these individuals (for example, Isaac Jogues, Jean de Brébeuf, Marie de l'Incarnation, and Catherine de Saint-Augustine) are well known to historians of early colonial Canada, what has not been explored is holiness itself, the way it was performed, recognized and written about, and the roles holy persons played in social and cultural life. In this dissertation, I analyze how local religious figures became holy and the social functions they played, in order to better understand the connections between religion and colonialism and the shaping of faith communities over time. The study covers a broad time period from the early days of French settlement in Canada to the late nineteenth century. The focus falls on New France and the holy persons associated with the early years of settlement when religion and colonization were intimately connected. It was only towards the end of the nineteenth century that these figures were put forward for official recognition by the church in canonization causes, and consequently I conclude the study with an examination of the processes and resulting documents that contributed to the transformation of local holy persons into saints. Throughout the study, I concentrate on the place holy persons occupied in local society both during life and after death as intercessors for the faithful, the meanings they held and presented to their audiences, and the ways they performed the traditions of sanctity. Les archives et témoignages relatifs à l'histoire de la colonisation européenne à l'intérieur des frontières actuelles du Canada sont semés de nombreux textes à caractère hagiographique, ces textes qui s'attardent à décrire la vie, la mort et les actions miraculeuses d'individus considérés comme saints. Alors que les noms et les oeuvres des Isaac Jogues, Jean de Brébeuf, Marie de l'Incarnation ou Catherine de Saint-Augustin sont bien connus des historiens du Canada français, on en sait cependant beaucoup moins sur le concept même de sainteté et les façons dont celui-ci était reconnu, démontré et mis en récit. De même, les différents rôles sociaux, culturels et religieux que les personnes ainsi désignées saintes pouvaient jouer, a souvent été négligé. Cette thèse analysera donc comment des figures religieuses locales ont pu devenir saintes et les multiples fonctions sociales qu'elles ont ainsi remplies. Nous pourrons ainsi mieux comprendre les liens serrés entre religion et colonialisme ainsi que les transformations des communautés de croyants au fil du temps. Car cette étude couvre une large période, des premiers temps de la colonisation française au Canada aux dernières années du XIXe siècle. C'est la Nouvelle-France et les saints associés à ses débuts, alors que religion et colonisation vont de pair, qui constituera le point focal de mon attention. Ces figures religieuses de la Nouvelle-France nous entrainerons à la toute fin du XIXe siècle, moment où elles verront leur statut de saint reconnu officiellement par l'Église par procès en canonisation. In this thesis I investigate the evolving figure of the holy fool as a critical figure in European cinema. Three national cinemas - Soviet and post-Soviet cinema, French cinema, and Danish cinema – form the primary focus of my analysis. These cinemas correspond broadly to the three main orientations in European Christianity: Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant. The cinematic holy fool of the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries is interpreted in this thesis as a protean figure through which different European religious and intellectual traditions percolate (chapters one and two). Against this varied cultural background, I investigate the way in which the figure of the holy fool is used by filmmakers as a means of responding to and critiquing aspects of the modern world. To this end I analyse how filmmakers have represented different types, features and uses of the holy fool in interaction with their particular cultural and religious backgrounds. In particular, I examine how the cinematic holy fool is used to critique the religious and social status quo, the contemporary political power structures, and the abuse of reason. An apparently anachronistic figure, I argue that the holy fool has proved a versatile modern device, employed to question established secular and religious worldviews, from the Soviet regimes (chapters three and four) to contemporary Western European democracies (chapters five, six and seven). Through this thesis I identify how the modern holy fool is one without authority; a figure whose critical function has largely outgrown its confessional traditions, even if indebted to them. Nonetheless, in diverse secular and religious settings, I demonstrate how the fool’s critical function remains morally legitimated by selfless suffering.

Criticism on Donne???s Holy Sonnets has traditionally been concerned with trying to find an explanation for the doubt, anxiety, and despair that is often expressed by the speaker of those poems. In recent decades, critics have increasingly made recourse to Calvinist theology in an effort to explain these melancholy states of mind. The accounts that such critics provide of ???Calvinism,??? however, have been varied and largely inadequate, mainly because they fail to engage with Calvin???s work at the level it requires. My thesis seeks to correct such deficiencies by providing a detailed reading of Calvin???s view on salvation and the way in which it is received. Calvin argues that we obtain salvation through a firm and certain faith, a faith that is nevertheless attacked by the unbelief that still resides in the believer. In other words, there is a division between the flesh and the spirit within the soul of the believer, which means that he or she is never free (until death) from the sinful temptations of this life. This division, which Calvin invokes to reconcile the uncertainties of the Christian life with the assurance of faith, is dramatised in the Holy Sonnets. In the five poems that I analyse, the speaker is torn between a desire for righteousness and an inclination toward evil, a division that is also represented in the structural qualities of the text. The various temptations which the speaker registers and confronts (and often falls to) are, I believe, a demonstration of Calvin???s view that the regenerate person is in continuous warfare against the remnants of the flesh.

What is the significance of the deployment of madness in the early Christian ascetic experience of holiness? The first Byzantine holy fools – themselves critics of monastic orders – represent the consistent and logical conclusion of the theology and practice of the early Christian ascetics, and in particular that of the followers of Anthony and Pachomius. The flight to the desert of the first Christian anchorites and coenobites was an attempt to transform the experience and theology of holiness in church and society by transgressing the rules and thoughts of the city in a practical outworking of negative theology. The transgressive behaviour of the holy fools renewed that transformation by accepting neither secular nor religious truth and life. Where desert fathers and mothers had transformed the production of norms by their obedience and ascetic transcendence of human life, holy fools undermined the religious production of norms through their masterless obedience, defeat of vainglory, and foreignness to self. The transformation of the production of ethical knowledge amongst early Christian ascetics – through control of passions, representations, and silence – was followed through by the holy fools’ apophatic babble and rejection of religious loci of knowledge production in liturgy, confession, religious community and ecclesial authority. As a continuation of ascetic methods of reforming the self’s relation to society by brutal truthtelling and truth-hearing, the holy fools used self-ostracising insult and laughter to follow divine truth into the periphery without legislating universal modesty and submission to group truths. As such, the holy fools exemplify the practices most idealised in early Christian asceticism – humility, suspicion of fixed orders and truths, apophatic critique of doctrine and legislation – with renewed innovation and commitment to city life. They applied the strategic moves and principles of negative theology to the Christian theology and practice of holiness through aspiring to desert freedom, the practice of ignorance, and the unserious self.

This master´s thesis is focused on the chamber works by Bohuslav Martinů in which the oboe takes a part in an ensemble. After introduction containing composer´s biography there are chapters dedicated to the specified works with their historical context and compositional techniques. The biggest part of this thesis is about the composition Fanthasy for Theremin, Oboe, String Quartet and Piano H301 and showing history of the first contactless electronic musical instrument theremin as well as information about its inventor Lev Sergejevich Theremin. There is also a comparition between playing this Fantasy with either theremin or Martenot waves because of the similarity of these instruments. Main purpose and motivation to focus this thesis on this composition was personal experience which included playing and recording this piece with german thereminist Carolina Eyck.

Slow-paced recruiting processes may serve as a bottleneck to growth meanwhile an effective recruitment process within an organization speaks volumes about the company. It is a direct reflection of the professionalism and validity of the business while leaving its mark on both current and prospective employees. Referral-based recruiting is often referred to as the “holy grail” of recruiting strategies and is an industry term for when a someone, such as a current employee, supplies a candidate from their own network to the recruiter. The strategy capitalizes on the social and professional networks of people in order to generate candidates and is often combined with rewards to incentivize recommendations. Many claims that the recruitment method yields advantages such as increased candidate quality, retention rate and reduced time to hire etc. However, often, these claims are not peer reviewed and lack the empirical evidence to support these claims. This research aims to contribute with knowledge to what role referral-based recruiting plays within Stockholm and to learn more about how the social processes and human elements affects the outcome. Furthermore, how the recruitment method impacts the assessed quality of the candidate pool and recruitment process. A total of six managers active within recruiting in Stockholm has been interviewed for this research. The managers were each asked to describe and evaluate the hiring of five candidates and their respective recruitment process. The empirical results were analyzed in combination to the theoretical framework. Through the analysis, the conclusion was drawn that referral-based recruiting in fact appears to offer unique advantages in comparison to traditional recruiting strategies, such as job-adverts, headhunting and hiring the services of recruitment firms.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att analysera vilka faktorer som påverkar bedömningen avom hästverksamhet ska beskattas som inkomst av tjänst eller som inkomst av näringsverksamhet. Med anledning av att rättspraxis i viss utsträckning är in casubetonad och saknar utförligare motiveringar är det emellertid omöjligt att täcka allatänkbara faktorer. Uppsatsen omfattar verksamheter med inriktning på ridsporthästar, d.v.s. ridsportverksamheter. Med begreppet ridsportverksamhet avserjag alla ridsportens grenar, såsom hoppning, dressyr, fälttävlan, körning och distansritt, och även andra hästrelaterade verksamheter som exempelvis ridutbildning, hästuppfödning, inackordering och hingsthållning. Vidare är syftet med uppsatsen att behandla frågan om hästverksamhet som utgör hobby kan anses som yrkesmässig verksamhet enligt mervärdesskattelagen (SFS 1994:200), ML, eller som ekonomisk verksamhet enligt rådets direktiv 2006/112/EG av den 28 november 2006 om ett gemensamt system för mervärdesskatt (nedan kallat mervärdesskattedirektivet). Vid beskattning är behovet av att i förväg kunna bedömade skatterättsliga konsekvenserna av sitt handlande stort. Inte minst för att hästägareska kunna redovisa sina verksamheter på ett korrekt sätt. En betydelsefull utgångspunkt är därför att undersöka om beskattning av hästverksamheter uppfyller kravet på rättssäkerhet.

The main objective of this doctoral dissertation is to analyze the European metapolitics of the Catholic Church and to evaluate critically European policy of Lithuania. Lithuania’s European metapolitics is being proposed in this thesis as one of the possible visions of European politics of Lithuania. The main question posed in the work is what could be Lithuania’s European metapolitics like? In order to answer the aforementioned question, the two main tasks are exercised: the European metapolitics of the Holy See (analysed in the first part of the thesis) and to what extent the European metapolitics of Lithuania could comply with the principles of the European metapolitic ?(explored in the second part of the work). It’s being concluded in this thesis that modern technocratic European Union is losing its Christian identity and becoming Christophobic, losing its ability to project internal or external policies at strategic or metapolitical level. The inability of current European Union to “represent” metapolitical reality, to understand and link it to everyday politics is pushing Europe to the margins of global politics. It is underlined that the weakening of metapolitical dimension is opening the way for relativism and negative freedom inside the European Union that in the longer run can threaten Lithuanian identity and statehood inside the EU, because negative freedom has no positive vision of human person or society. Šioje disertacijoje gilinasi į Šventojo Sosto Europos metapolitiką bei kritiškai įvertinama Lietuvos Europos politika. Disertacijoje siūloma viena iš galimų Lietuvos buvimo Europoje strateginių vizijų – Lietuvos Europos metapolitika. Pagrindinis šios disertacijos tikslas yra atsakyti į klausimą „kokia galėtų būti Lietuvos Europos metapolitika?“. Siekiant atsakyti į šį pagrindinį klausimą darbo pirmoje ir antroje dalyje atitinkamai bandoma atsakyti į du klausimus: kokia yra Šventojo Sosto Europos metapolitika? Kokiu mastu Lietuvos Europos metapolitika galėtų atitikti Šventojo Sosto metapolitikos principus? This thesis argues that Mark, through appropriation of motifs, concepts and images of Hebrew Bible and Second Temple Literature, in his picture of Jesus and his disciples represents them as the holy community, the holy people of God or the righteous remnant of the last days. It begins with an examination of the concept of the holy people in Leviticus and its later developments in the Second Temple period, demonstrating that the idea of holiness does not belong solely to the priestly tradition but is appropriated by other Jewish literature. The holiness of the people is a dynamic concept that describes the relationship with the Holy God in their midst through obedience to his will revealed in the Torah and abstention from any kind of impurity. Moreover, Jewish apocalyptic literature of the period reveals a concern about the restoration of the holiness of Israel in the last days. This background illuminates the issue of the holy people in Mark. The wide range of motifs and concerns from 2TJ connected with holiness made their way into the Gospel and were absorbed by Mark or underlay his narrative. All aspects of Jesus' identity and ministry are connected to a certain degree with the issues of purity and holiness. It becomes clear that for Mark the Temple in Jerusalem is not the centre of holiness that it should be. This centre is now Jesus, the Holy One of God among the people of God, \\ho manifests Yahweh's presence and directly reveals his will instead of mediation through the Torah. Jesus restores the people of God through cleansing and bringing \vholeness in the last days. In the light of Jesus' identity, Mark re-defines such fundamental categories of Israel's holiness as the Temple, the Torah and the Holy People of God, thus forming the identity of the early Christian community through continuation and discontinuation with ancient Judaism. In the light of this radical redefinition Mark depicts Jesus' followers through Isaianic images of the restoration of the people, the motif of suffering and vindication of the righteous, the notion of the elect and the stumbling remnant, and through strong connection with Christology. Mark shows how the community, the new family and the new temple, is being formed around the Holy One of God. The holiness of the new people of God is represented as a dynamic relationship with Jesus, the source of holiness and power of the community. Faithfull following and obedience to Jesus and his teaching, i.e., fulfilling the will of the Holy God in the last days, makes the community holy in the Gospel of Mark.

Marion Zimmer Bradley's novel The Mists of Avalon is different from the usual episodic versions of the Arthurian legend in that it has the structural unity that the label "novel" implies. The narrative is set in fifth-century Britain, a time of religious conflict between Christianity and the native religions of Britain, especially the Mother Goddess cult. Bradley pulls elements from the Arthurian legend and fits them into this context of religious struggle for influence. She draws interesting family relationships which are closely tied to Avalon, the center of Goddess worship. The author also places the major events during Arthur's reign into the religious setting. The Grail's appearance at Camelot and the subsequent events led to the end of the religious struggle, for Christianity emerged victorious.

Kutná Hora is a beautiful historical city and one of most significant tourist destinations in the Czech Republic. Taking its importance into account the historical city centre of Kutná Hora became UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995. In spite of this international recognition, the town currently has to face the problem of the decreasing number of visitors as well as their short stay. The aim of my thesis is to describe the current commercial communication of the Kutná Hora city implemented mostly by local tourism agency and to analyze its future potential. Another objective is to suggest improvements of city marketing in order to increase the city's tourism profit in future. The thesis explains the principles of marketing strategies for tourist destinations demonstrated by the example of the city of Kutná Hora. The result is based on classified literature, my own research and data delivered by experts working in the tourism field. The author gives practical recommendations which could be a basis for the future destination management of Kutná Hora city.
