This thesis presents the design, modeling, and development of adaptive robot hands that are capable of performing selective interdigitation, robust grasping, and dexterous, in-hand manipulation. The robotic fingers employ an adaptive actuation mechanism. The design is minimal and the hand is capable of performing selective interdigitation, robust grasping, and dexterous, in-hand manipulation. Particular emphasis has been given to the modeling and the analysis of the actuation mechanism. For the hand design, the use of differential mechanisms simplifies the actuation scheme, as we utilize only two actuators for four fingers, achieving affordable dexterity. A design optimization framework assess the results of hand anthropometry studies to derive key parameters for the actuation design. The robotic fingers and the anthropomorphic hand were fabricated using off-the-self materials and additive manufacturing techniques. Several experiments were performed to validate the efficacy of the robot hand.

Human hand transplantation became a medical reality at the turn of the 2 1st century. Often hailed by media and the general public as miraculous, these life-changing surgeries are also highly controversial. Many doctors, ethicists, and medical professionals feel the benefits of having a hand transplant do not outweigh the risks of the immunosuppressive drugs required to keep the complex foreign tissues alive on the bodies of chronically disabled yet otherwise healthy people. Patients' reactions to having the operation, to the drugs, to the physical therapy, and to the psychological consequences of wearing the hand of a dead person range from grateful acceptance to disgust and requested reamputation. This thesis explores the struggles and triumphs of human hand transplants through the stories of several patients and doctors. The rise of hand transplantation as a field, including the ongoing controversy surrounding the first successful human hand transplant, is also related as insight into how doctors and patients in innovative medicine make decisions, and where hand transplantation stands as a technology to benefit both medicine and scientific research.

O teste de força de aperto das mãos tem como finalidade detectar eventuais patologias nos membros superiores e avaliar a força exercida pelas mãos de pacientes. Neste trabalho é descrito o desenvolvimento de um dinamômetro biomédico projetado para efetuar a avaliação funcional das mãos, através da utilização de moldes específicos. O equipamento é constituído basicamente por sensores com extensômetros metálicos, um circuito de condicionamento de sinais, um circuito de interfaceamento e por um display digital. O circuito de condicionamento de sinais foi implementado com um amplificador de instrumentação, um amplificador com ganho programável e por um filtro passa-baixas. O principal componente do circuito de interfaceamento é o microcontrolador ATMEGA8. O equipamento é robusto, apresenta resposta linear na faixa de 0 a 500 N, precisão de 0,54%, resolução de 0,70 N e histerese desprezível. O valor da força pode ser lida em um display e também na tela de um computador. Pode ser útil em Engenharia de Reabilitação, Fisioterapia e Terapia Ocupacional
In this work we describe the development of a biomedical dynamometer. It was designed with the goal of performing the functional evaluation of hands with specific shapes. The equipment is constituted by force sensors, a signal conditioning circuit, an interface circuit and a digital display. Metallic strain gages were used as sensors. The signal conditioning circuit is constituted by an instrumentation amplifier, a programmable gain amplifier and a low-pass filter. The main component of the interface circuit is an ATMEGA8 microcontroller. The instrument can measure forces with resolution of 0.70 N and precision of 0.54% in the range of 0 to 500 N. It is rugged, presents linear response and very small hysteresis. The value of the force can be read in a display and in a computer screen. The device can be useful in Rehabilitation Engineering, Physiotherapy and Ocupational Therapy

The team of entrepreneurs is composed of 4 future graduates of the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, all with experience in different business fields on which this innovative and profitable project is based and which will make life easier for many people.

It was identified that the main problem is the lack of time in the preparation of food, healthy snacks, food in the mid-morning or mid-afternoon, so it seeks to help these people to save time and be more practical; reason why a pack of Hand Roll ready to enjoy was created. Yan Ken Roll arises from the synergy of the words "Yan ken Po", being an original and unique name, especially a Peruvian brand. This pack of Hand Roll will have the basic ingredients are chicken, rice and vegetables. It will be distributed solely by delivery, mainly to the San Miguel district and surrounding areas. Finally, we determine that our hand roll is oriented to the general public, however, our target audience is represented by people who are looking for something fast-paced and nutritious, which allows them to maintain a healthy lifestyle and at the same time be able to satisfy their diet. Our purpose is for YAN KEN ROLL to transcend and be in the top of mind of the consumer.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe work presented in this thesis concerns object grasping with dexterous robotic hands. In this work, we are going to focus on the grasp synthesis problem by taking into account the in-hand manipulation task. The initial grasp has a capital role for the successful completion of a given task.In order to develop algorithms which are able to generate automatically correct grasps for a manipulation task, we need to define suitable grasp quality metrics to assess the validity of a grasp. Throughout the years, a large variety of quality measures have been proposed in the literature and researchers keep on developing new ones. However those quality measures are generally developed for simple grippers and for grasping tasks. In this thesis, we will extend the study of selected interesting grasp quality measures for in-hand manipulation tasks. These quality measures will be evaluated on a four finger robotic hand with sixteen fully actuated degrees of freedom.We will assess the chosen quality measures for in-hand manipulation tasks with three different carefully selected type of objects. The quality metrics are classified in two groups, first one focuses exclusively on the location of contact points and the second one considers the kinematics of the robotic hand. The review of these quality measures led us to select the ones meaningful for solving the grasp synthesis problem for in-hand manipulation. The grasping pipeline implemented to generate the correct grasps is based on an evolutionary approach using a mix of the selected quality measures. The proposed approach was tested in the OpenRAVE robotic simulator and also validated experimentally with the new RoBioSS hand

Systemet är byggt för att fungera på en PC.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleVi har valt att undersöka second handklädesmarknaden. På senare tid har intresset för andra handskläder ökat markant. Det finns två huvudsakliga aktörer på marknaden. De består av biståndsorganisationer som syftar till välgörande ändamål, samt de second handbutiker som har som mål att bevara gamla moden. I och med en ökad efterfrågan har marknaden utvecklats rejält. Från att ha burit en stämpel av fattigdom och skam har second handklädesmarknaden blivit ett mer naturligt val för många individer. Kundgruppen har utökats till att inte enbart inbegripa fattiga människor, utan även människor med intresse för mode. Denna kraftiga tillväxt har resulterat i en prisökning, varför vår undersökningsfråga ska besvara varför priset på second handkläder har ökat. Som syfte ämnade vi att först och främst ge en beskrivande bild av priset second handklädesmarknaden i förhållande till nyproduktionsmarknaden. Detta gjordes genom en kvantitativ studie, i form av en prisjämförelse. För att ge en mer förklarande bild till varför det ser ut som det gör genomfördes en intervju, som kvalitativ undersökning. För att finna svar på vår fråga har vi tagit hjälp av teorier om köpbeteende och priskänslighet. I analysen kopplade vi sedan samman dessa teorier med resultat från empirin.
