The urban public bus operation dispatch system is one of the most important systems in ITS (Intelligent Transportation System). This paper describes the system in detail, including the system’s architecture, the bus onboard equipment and the system’s software part etc. Through integrating the single chip module, GPRS module, GPS module and other modules, the bus onboard equipment is designed. According to the object-oriented software engineering ideas and using UML (Unified Model language), the software system is designed. Finally, the bus onboard equipment and the system software part can send information each other using GPRS technology. The system has been implemented using Visual Studio 2005 C# language and tested in laboratory.

In this paper, a real time tracking system is put forward. In this we are going to design a system which is used for tracking and positioning by using (GPS) and (GSM). This design is based on embedded application, which will regularly monitor location and report the status. This tracking device which is used in real time vehicle location tracking is done using the Arduino Uno Atmega328P, SIM800A module and NEO 6M GPS module. For doing so, the Arduino Uno Atmega328P is combined serially to a GSM module and GPS module. The design make use of RS-232 protocol for serial communication between the modems and the microcontroller. A serial driver IC is used for transforming TTL voltage levels to RS-232 voltage levels. The GSM module is used to regularly send the position of the vehicle from distant place. The GPS module that makes use of satellite technology for its navigation system will regularly give information like longitude, latitude, speed, distance travelled etc. For this purpose, Amazon Cloud Services is used for location data handling. The MySQL database is used to reserve all the data of the GPS.

With the number of the city vehicle increasing, traffic congestion has become a big problem. Thus the demand for vehicle accurate monitoring and scheduling is increasingly urgent. A wireless communication module based on GPS/GPRS has been designed in this paper, which is used to transmit the vehicle position information and other related data to the server wirelessly by GPRS. The STM8S207 microcontroller produced by the STMicroelectronics is used as the controller which is adopted as the communication module. The NEO-6M module and the wireless module MG323 with embedded TCP/UDP protocol are combined to acquire and monitor the vehicle data. The communication module designed in this paper can ensure the accuracy of GPS data and the real-time of GPRS transmission.

It is the necessity of the modern city development to implement the informatization management of water supply pipe network. The paper introduces the design of a data acquisition and monitoring system for water supply pipe network based on GPRS. It presents the implement of the hardware and software design of the data acquisition and monitoring terminal which is based on the embedded technology and uC/OS-II operating system, as well as the software design of the monitor center. The communication protocol based on GPRS and Winsock network programming technology is provided. The various field data collected by the terminal are encapsulated and sent to the GPRS module by microprocessor serial port. Then, the GPRS module sends the data to the remote monitor center which realizes the functions such as data process, data storage and statistical analysis. The system works well in the laboratory environment.

In recent years, data service has been gaining popularity in embedded system and general packet radio service (GPRS).GPRS is one of the next-generation wireless communication technologies. This paper takes advantage of seamless GPRS data coverage and its good capacity to combine GPRS technology and GPS system, realizing real-time positioning of vehicles. This paper describes structure of the system using GPRS and GPS technology for real-time data acquisition and transmission. It transmits the data through GPRS network to the background system for centralized data processing and analysis. The analysis results are given back to administrator rapidly and timely through the wireless network. This module not only saves development and maintenance costs of a private network, and takes full advantage of the unique advantages of GPRS. Finally, this paper summarizes characteristics and advantages of the system in practical application and has good prospects.

The truck scale is more and more applied on the weighing system. To seek illegal profits, many kinds of truck scale cheating method is found in the weighing system. To monitoring the truck scale cheating method, the truck scale cheating automatic monitoring system based on the GPRS is brought out in this paper. The truck scale cheating automatic monitoring system is designed. The monitoring system includes three parts: the monitoring terminal, the GPRS transmission module and the upper monitoring system. The truck scale measurement data of the sensors are collected by the monitoring terminal and sent to the upper monitoring system through the GPRS module. The experimental system is established on the pneumatic conveying system and the experiment is carried out. The experimental results show that the automatic monitoring system can on-line monitor the truck scale cheating method and improves the security of the truck scale weighing system.

This research proposed a real time exhaust measuring system and realized automatic acquisition of exhaust data. In this research, VMT (Vehicle Mounted Terminal) which is integrated with GPRS module, GPS module,exhaust detection unit and microcontroller unit, collected the concentration of CO2, CO and HC and the vehicle location which were then sent to MC (Monitoring Center) via GSM/GPRS net. In this way, both exhaust transient data under daily running and vehicle location are available to environment protection department, which provided a new method to rid high emitting vehicles in urban areas. The system has extensive practical value in vehicle exhaust online detecting, remote vehicles management and environment monitoring.

Concerning the security issues in the running elevator and the fact that elevator monitoring is an effective means to ensure the safe running of the elevator, and the special equipment, users, manufacturers, and government supervision departments will need to master the operating conditions of the elevator. Therefore, combining with the main components, embedded microprocessor, RF communications modules, sensors and GPRS designed the remote elevator monitoring terminal, and complete real-time acquisition of the state data of the running elevator via GPRS communication module to send data to a remote network server. Monitoring terminal cooperates with the web server, database, and host computer software, then realize the remote monitoring and control of the elevator group. Practice has proved the feasibility, effectiveness and reliability of the design of the monitoring terminal.

Unable to control at long range is the shortage of DALI protocol. In order to solve this problem, a remote control scheme based on GPRS module is designed. In the hardware part, the GPRS module is set as a communication device of main controller, and the interface of MCU supports to the DALI protocol. In the software part, the control mechanism between the main controller and mobile terminal is realized. The software runs on the mobile terminal is developed, which is based on J2ME. The experimental result shows that the system responses are fast when user is at long range. It is of significant meaning for this design scheme on the development of advanced indoor lighting automation system.

After system set up, practice has proved that farmers mobile phone can receive temperature data from ds18b20 temperature sensor and with no delay. Stored in SD card crop picture can transmit through GPRS model. In the picture size below 20 KB situation, delay is not obvious. Transmission effect is good.

A vehicle control unit (VCU) of electric car integrated with GPRS/GPS and CAN bus was proposed for vehicle driving status monitoring and performance evaluation. The vehicle powertrain information, including parameters of electric motor and battery package as well as their fault messages, and driver operations were collected by VCU and sent to the monitoring center by GPRS. To ensure the wireless transmission reliable and flexible, VCU hardware was designed using MC9S12XET256 and GPRS/GPS module, and the wireless transmission protocol was developed with data message. Laboratory experiment and road test results verified that the GPRS transfer accuracy could reach close to 100% at 5 kb/s. The driving performance of testing vehicle was analyzed, which showed that VCU could follow the drivers operation and the driving range exceeded 120km and energy consumption reduced by 12.7% owing to regenerative braking.

Aircraft fire training simulators are key facilities in airport used for firefighters to do firefighting trainings. In order to protect the safety of firefighters, the monitoring system should be applied to monitor the internal environment of the simulator. In accordance with the requirements of the training environment, a kind of monitoring system based on MCU and GPRS communication components are built. The parameterized PID controller, the sensor detection module, the fan and spray drive module are consisted of closed-loop to achieve real-time control and regulation on the smoke and temperature of the internal simulator. Using GPRS module, the internal scenes of the simulator are sent to the command center through the information transmission system. Based on the information transported from training site, command center can take the appropriate training programs to guide firefighters. Use this system, the training safety is ensured and the training efficiency is improved at the same time.

This design uses GPRS wireless communication technology to achieve remote control of the stepper motor. The system design the software of upper machine by the VC++ based on the TCP/IP protocol. The wireless module SIM300 transfers data to the primary station by its GPRS function. Then the primary station converters the input into differential signal and send commands to slave stations via RS485 and Modbusprotocol. According to the commands, slave stations output the corresponding control signal to the stepper motor. Stepper motor has some protection function when working, such as: acceleration and deceleration and down limit , emergency stop , over-temperature .The result of experiments verifies that the aim of design GPRS-based remote control of stepper motor is realized. It is possible to improve largely both in real-time performance and reliability by using the GPRS wireless technology, it promotes the industrial monitoring and control system more intelligent and informed.

Meteorological disasters seriously endanger bullet trains running in high speed, so this paper puts forward a design of meteorological monitoring system for high-speed railway (MMSHSR). The system monitors meteorological disasters to ensure bullet train to run safely and efficiently. Consisting of automatic weather stations (AWS), GPRS network, Internet, monitoring center, LAN, etc., this system automatically collected meteorological parameters, sent them to the GPRS network by the GPRS module. Receiving terminal received these parameters and sent to the monitoring center, which processed these parameters, sent them to railway departments through Internet which managed the train operation according to these parameters, to improve the traffic safety and efficiency. The paper discusses in detail the overall design, AWS hardware design and the system software design.

This paper presents a GPRS thermal printer which is based on Internet of Things. The main control chip of the printer initializes the GPRS module, connects the restaurant reservation website servers and cell phones, and accepts orders from Internet and phone messages. Then the printer prints two same receipts. Meanwhile the information on the reservation is saved in SD card. After confirmation of orders, confirmation information would be sent back to relevant network ports or phones so that they can reaffirm each other. A GPRS wireless thermal printer which is based on Internet of Things can print the customers’ order timely and remind staff to handle them in time. To improve the efficiency of the remote monitoring system for logistics transportation, we proposed a remote monitoring system based on wireless sensor network and GPRS communication. The system can collect information from the wireless sensor network and transmit the information to the ZigBee interpreter. The monitoring system mainly includes the following parts: Car terminal, GPRS transmission network and monitoring center. Car terminal mainly consists by the Zigbee microcontroller and peripherals, wireless sensor nodes, RFID reader, GPRS wireless communication module composed of a micro-wireless monitoring network. The information collected by the sensor communicates through the GPRS and the monitoring center on the network coordinator, sends the collected information to the monitoring center, and the monitoring center realizes the information of the logistics vehicle in real time. The system has high applicability, meets the design requirements in the real-time acquisition and information transmission of the information of the logistics transport vehicles and goods, and realizes the function of remote monitoring.
