Personalized Recommendation Systems (RS) provide end users with suggestions about items that are likely to be of their interest based on users' details such as demographics, location, time, and emotion. In this article, a Personalized Hybrid Book Recommender (PHyBR) is presented, which integrates personality traits with users' demographic data and geographical location to improve the quality of recommendations. The Ten Item Personality Inventory (TIPI) was used to determine users' personality traits. PHyBR was evaluated using two metrics, that are, Standardized Root Mean Square Residual (SRMR) and Root Mean Square Error of Approximation (RMSEA). Both metrics revealed PHyBR outperforms the baseline models (without considering personality traits and geographical location factor) in terms of the recommendation accuracies. This study shows that users who are in the same geographical contexts intend to have similar preferences. Therefore, users' personality details along with their geographical locations can be used to provide improved personalized recommendations.

Recent psychological research shown that the places where we live are linked to our personality traits. Geographical aggregation of personalities has been observed in many individualistic nations; notably, the mountainousness is an essential component in understanding regional variances in personality. Could mountainousness therefore also explain the clustering of personality-types in collectivist countries like China? Using a nationwide survey (29,838 participants) in Mainland China, we investigated the relationship between the Big Five personality traits and mountainousness indicators at the provincial level. Multilevel modelling showed significant negative associations between the elevation coefficient of variation (Elevation CV) and the Big Five personality traits, whereas mean elevation (Elevation Mean) and the standard deviation in elevation (Elevation STD) were positively associated with human personalities. Subsequent machine learning analyses showed that, for example, Elevation Mean outperformed other mountainousness indicators regarding correlations with neuroticism, while Elevation CV performed best relative to openness models. Our results mirror some previous findings, such as the positive association between openness and Elevation STD, while also revealing cultural differences, such as the social desirability of people living in China’s mountainous areas.

The game of chess offers a conducive setting to explore basic cognitive processes, including decision-making. The game exercises analytical cause-and-effect thinking skills regardless of the level of play. Moreover, chess portals provide information on the chess games played and serve as a vast database. The numbers of games played thus have the potential to be analyzed comprehensively, including for purposes other than analyzing chess matches only. The primary objective of this study is to develop a methodology for using information obtained from chess games for geospatial social analysis. The assumption is that the methodology will allow for general geographical variation in personality inference in the future, relying on big data from chess databases. Future large-scale studies of the geographical differentiation of personality traits using the developed methodology may be applicable in a number of ways. The results can be used wherever cross-sectional social analyses are needed in the context of personality traits (decision-making) to better understand their geographical background. In turn, the geographical distribution of these traits is accompanied by a range of important social, educational, health, political and economic implications.

The research method used is normative juridical using secondary data. The law can be one of the tools to protect the regime of Geographical Indications by way of registration as regulated in Law Number 20 of 2016 concerning Marks and Geographical Indications. Article 53 reads: "Geographical Indications are protected after Geographical Indications are registered by the Minister". The main function of law is to protect the interests that exist in society. According to Roscou Pound, there are three interests that must be protected by law, namely: public interest, individual interest and interest of personality. The legal provision applicable to determine the jurisdiction to decide claims regarding the cross-border infringement of personality rights is Article 7, Section 2, of Regulation (EU) No 1215/2012 on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments in civil and commercial matters (Brussels Ia). Article 7, Section 2, gives jurisdiction in non-contractual matters to the court of the place where the harmful event occurred or may occur. Called to interpret the concept of place where the harmful event occurred, the ECJ was forced to make an interpretative effort in case of online infringement of personality rights. It was so, because the information that is placed online can be accessed in any country. The offenses that occur on the Internet can have a global reach and cause damage with greater geographical extension and repercussions in the legal sphere of the victim, especially due to the geographical wide location of its users. The aim of this study is to highlight the latest trends of the Court of Justice of the European Union regarding this topic.

SummaryThe analysis of the geographical distribution of hospital cases is obviously important for the purpose of planning hospital services, but it is of even greater significance in the planning of psychiatric services. This concern motivated our seven-year-long study, which examined hospitalization risks among various categories of psychiatric disorders in the major German city of Hamburg. Our database encompassed 77% (n = 64,000) of all psychiatric admissions in a total of 41 hospitals, most of which are general hospitals. In order to carry out the geographical analysis we employed a new statistical method based on a mixture distribution model. According to our findings, the strongest indications of an increased frequency were among male cases of schizophrenia, drug abuse and organic psychoses, and female cases of neurotic disorders, personality disorders, drug abuse and schizophrenia. We found that some areas are exposed to a risk of hospitalization for these diagnostic categories which is more than 50% above the reference. Contrary to other authors we did not identify an increased frequency of admission concentrated in the inner-city area for any of the diagnostic groups. The risk of hospitalization for schizophrenics was almost entirely associated with the close proximity of psychiatric units, while the risks for neuroses and personality disorders, as well as alcohol and drug abuse, appeared to be concentrated in areas of low social status. However, a statistically relevant correlation between an increased risk of hospitalization and low social status could be determined only for drug abuse and alcoholism. In the end, we did identify two areas in which there was an increased risk of hospitalization for several diagnostic groups, and this information will undoubtedly facilitate the planning of hospital and psychiatric services. The fact that our findings deviate to some extent from other authors – especially with respect to neuroses and personality disorders, but also to addiction – can be attributed to the inclusion of psychiatric cases from general hospitals in our geographic analysis.

SUMMARYAims – This article provides a brief review of recent cross-cultural research on personality traits at both individual and culture levels, highlighting the relevance of recent findings for psychiatry. Method – In most cultures around the world, personality traits can be clearly summarized by the five broad dimensions of the Five-Factor Model (FFM), which makes it feasible to compare cultures on personality and psychopathology. Results – Maturational patterns and sex differences in personality traits generally show cultural invariance, which generates the hypothesis that age of onset, clinical evolution, and sex differences in the prevalence of psychiatric disorders might follow similar universal patterns. The average personality profiles from 51 cultures show meaningful geographical distributions and associations with culture-level variables, but are clearly unrelated to national character stereotypes. Conclusions – Aggregate personality scores can potentially be related to epidemiological data on psychiatric disorders, and dimensional personality models have implications for psychiatric diagnosis and treatment around the world.Declaration of Interest: This research was supported by the Intramural Research Program of the NIH, National Institute on Aging. Having mastered geographical competencies, students and adults will not only have knowledge of this field, but will also be able to independently analyze world problems from a geographical point of view. The work analyzes the origin and concept of the general term "competence," and reveals the essence of the concept of "geographical competence." Particular attention in the work is paid to the formation of these competencies in students in geography lessons, and it is shown what role geographical competence plays in understanding global challenges on specific examples.

Education in the learning process, as well as the learning process itself, is a complex phenomenon. In geography lessons education is the formation of morality and spirituality of students, especially those aspects related to human behavior in different geographical, economic, political conditions, education of citizens of their country, preparation of school graduates to perform social roles, because there is no effective economy, social peace in the state, responsible citizens without education. There is longstanding interest in the generalizability of personality across diverse cultures. To investigate the generalizability of personality concepts, we examined the English translations of individual–difference entries from the dictionaries of 12 small–scale societies previously studied for ubiquity of individual differences plus the dictionary of an additional society not previously studied in this manner. These 13 societies are highly diverse in geographical location, culture, and language family; their languages developed in isolation from modern–world languages. The goal of our exploratory research was to discover ubiquitous personality concepts in these 13 independent societies and their languages, providing a window into personality concepts across a broad range of cultures and languages. This study used clusters of empirically related terms (e.g. brave, courageous, and daring), based on a taxonomy of English–language personality concepts that consisted of 100 personality–trait clusters. English–language definitions of dictionary entries from the 13 languages were matched to the meanings of the synonym clusters. The cluster–classification method uncovered nine ubiquitous personality concepts, plus six that were present in at least 12 of the 13 languages. The nine ubiquitous personality concepts include some not previously identified and suggest a core of possibly universal concepts. © 2020 European Association of Personality Psychology

The article analyzes the memoirs of K. Matsievych “Life of my contemporary” and the introductory article by Maxym Slavinsky “Parallels and applications”. The researcher updates the content of the materials stored in the Central State Archives of Ukraine in the fund 4465 “Collection of documents and materials of Ukrainian nationalist emigrant institutions, organizations and individuals”. The main factors which the author considered decisive in the formation of the personality and keeping the individual in the vector field of the Ukrainian national culture are outlined. The geographical coordinates of the events within which the formation of K. Matsievych’s personality took place were analyzed, mainly the villages and towns of the Middle Dnieper region; the most impressive and memorable events that accompanied the stay in these places were described. For 69 years of his life K. Matsievych got to know different geographical places both in Russia and in European countries. However, nothing remained in his memory so vivid as that small world that his eyes first saw. That world “was Ukrainian, nature was Ukrainian, Ukrainian landscapes, Ukrainian people around, with its own psyche, traditions, language and even clothes”. We consider spatial images as a plurality of things, objects and as a form of perception of the existing reality, which together form the human mindset. The main spatial images that influenced the formation of a character, according to K. Matsievych, were: the house as a locus of economic, cultural and spiritual action; the family as a kind of community of people with its special folk traditions and rituals on holidays and weekdays; nature landscapes, engraved in the memory, the formation of a sense of dignity. Among the negative factors that influenced the formation of a personality was the Russification of education and the church. AbstractThe influence of birth order on personality and sibling rivalry is controversial; little research has been conducted into academic sibling rivalry, and none into the connection with personality traits. This study considers the interaction of all three factors. Firstborns (N=22) and lastborns (N=24) completed online personality tests and an Academic Sibling Rivalry Questionnaire. Lastborns were found to experience more academic sibling rivalry: t=2.33, DF=44; p<.05, whereas firstborns are more likely to be conscientious: F(1,44)=3.58; p< .05, and dutiful: F(1,44)=5.39; p<.05. This raises possible implications in domains including education, health and psychotherapy. Further research could be conducted to expand these findings in terms of variables and geographical location.

BackgroundPreterm birth confers risk for poor outcome, including mental health problems. Survival of extremely preterm (EP; <28 weeks' gestation) or extremely low birthweight (ELBW; <1000 g) infants increased in the 1990s but psychiatric outcomes in older adolescents born preterm since 1990 are not well documented. This study aimed to characterize mental health and personality traits in a prospective geographical cohort of adolescents born EP/ELBW in Victoria, Australia in 1991 and 1992.MethodAt age 18 years, 215 EP/ELBW and 157 normal birthweight (>2499 g) control adolescents completed the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV Disorders, Axis 1 Non-Patient version (SCID-I/NP), the Children's Interview for Psychiatric Syndromes (ChIPS) attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) module, and questionnaires assessing recent depression and anxiety symptoms and personality traits.ResultsADHD prevalence was significantly elevated in EP/ELBW adolescents compared with controls [15% v. 7%; odds ratio (OR) 2.67, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.08–6.58]. Aside from ADHD, however, EP/ELBW and control adolescents reported very similar outcomes, with other lifetime diagnoses identified in 23% of EP/ELBW and 21% of controls. These were predominantly mood and anxiety disorders (21% EP/ELBW, 20% controls). The groups did not differ in recent depression or anxiety symptoms assessed using questionnaires, and personality traits were also similar.ConclusionsADHD was more prevalent in EP/ELBW adolescents than controls, which is consistent with some, but not all, reports on preterm survivors born before the 1990s, and younger preterm children born in the 1990s. The high rates of anxiety and mood disorders were similar in both groups, and comparable with population-based estimates.

BackgroundThe relationship between ethnic density and psychiatric disorder in postnatal women in the UK is unclear.AimsTo examine the effect of own and overall ethnic density on postnatal depression (PND) and personality dysfunction.MethodMultilevel analysis of ethnically mixed community-level data gathered from a sample of 2262 mothers screened at 6 weeks postpartum for PND and personality dysfunction.ResultsLiving in areas of higher own ethnic density was protective against screening positive for PND in White women (z =–3.18, P = 0.001), even after adjusting for area level deprivation, maternal age, relationship status, screening positive for personality dysfunction, parity and geographical clustering (odds ratio (OR) 0.98 (95% CI 0.96–0.99); P = 0.002), whereas the effect on personality dysfunction (z =–2.42, P = 0.016) was no longer present once the effect of PND was taken into account (OR = 0.99 (95% CI 0.90–1.0); P = 0.13). No overall ethnic density effect was found for women screening positive for PND or personality dysfunction.ConclusionsIn White women, living in areas of higher own ethnic density was protective against developing PND.

The present paper focuses on the travel notes by Michel Vieuchange (1904-1930), a young Frenchman who decided to reach Smara, a holy Muslim city located in the middle of the desert, to describe it, and to e term used by Michel Collot means telling your life through the places that has affected you. In the case of Vieuchange’s notes the geographical descriptions intervene with the description of the personality of the traveler and form a whole. The paper shows that three cities, Tiznit, Tigilit and Smara, mark three stages of the travel and correspond to different aspects of Vieuchange’s personality.

The article deals with the biography and scientific achievements of doctor of geographical sciences, geologist, paleontologist, geographer, cartographer, social ecologist Professor G. Bachynski. In particular, considerable attention is paid to his role in the development of speleology in Ukraine. The activities of G. Bachynski on the head of palaeozoological department of the Complex karst expedition of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR were described. His work allowed identifying karst type of localization of the vertebrates. A separate paragraph is devoted to the period of Professor’s life where he is revealed as a cartographer, working in the Computer centre of the Institute of applied problems of mechanics and mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR in Lviv. G. Bachynski organized and headed the group of mathematical-cartographical modelling of the social-ecological systems in the Computer centre of the Institute of applied problems of mechanics and mathematics. He also developed and successfully applied for the first time the leading method of the social ecology – mathematical-cartographic modelling of the regional and the local ecosystems. Name of G. Bachynski is the most well-known in the social ecology. He devoted his doctoral thesis “Applied social ecology and the role of geographical science in its formation” to this science. In his doctoral thesis, he developed the theoretical foundations of a new interdisciplinary integration, the doctrine of harmonizing the interaction between society and nature – the social ecology. He had done significant organizational work on the establishment and development of this science in Ukraine. His role in organizing and conducting the first all-Union scientific-practical conference “The problems of social ecology” in Lviv was disclosed in the article. Due to this conference, social ecology was granted the official recognition. The key milestones of social and political activity of the citizen and the scientist Professor G. Bachynski were noted. Autobiogeographical Writings in Carnets du voyage en Égypte by Eugène Fromentin The present paper analyses Carnets du voyage en Égypte by a French painter and writer, Eugène Fromentin (1820-1876), using the concept of autobiogeography. The concept allows to examine how the author of a geographical description may be seen throughout this description and how s/he is influenced by the space. The paper argues that the personality of Fromentin emerges from his travel notes even though they are focused mainly on the description of the Egyptian space and the forms “I” or “we” appear there rarely. Three aspects of Fromentin’s personality may be seen through the analyses of his geographical descriptions of Egypt: the Orientalist painter enthusiastic towards the space; the traveler marked by his previous travels to Algeria who in Egyptian spaces sees Algerian ones; and the man who feels old and tired, refuses to discover the Egyptian space and who just wants to come back home.

People’s actions and behaviours contribute to the diversity and personality of a space, transforming it into a vibrant and thriving living environment. The main goal of this research is to present a GIS-based framework for assessing places. The framework is constructed based on the idea of conceptual spaces, integrating spatial and semantic concepts inside a geometric structure. The explanation of place-related concepts is achieved via the use of linear programming and convex polytopes. By projecting these concepts into the spatial domain, a strong connection between geographical and semantic space is established. This connection allows a wide range of analytical calculations using geographic information systems to be carried out. The study focuses on the sense of city centre in Tehran, Iran, by employing questionnaires administrated on-site to evaluate the correlation between identified city centres and the participants’ responses. The findings demonstrate a good correlation, as shown by a Pearson correlation value of 0.74 and a rank correlation coefficient of 0.8. Interestingly, the city centres that were selected did not always align with the geographic centre. However, participants still perceived them as city centres. This framework serves as a valuable tool for planners and policymakers, providing a comprehensive understanding of the built environment. By considering both semantic and geographical aspects, the framework emphasises the importance of emotions, memories, and meanings in creating an inclusive environment.

In 1981 we joined our individual perspectives, grounded in the disciplines of Geography and English respectively, to publish an essay in the Scottish Geographical Journal on 'Personality of Place in George Blake’s The Shipbuilders’. In 1981 the rural dominated both literary and geographical approaches to the particularity of place. The urban, as in Dickens’s Coketown, was stereotypical, an epitome or generalisation of the idea of the city. Often too, the concern of literary critics and geographers alike was to highlight the conventional contrast between the individuality of the countryside and the mass anonymity of the urban. Since 1981, there has been a balancing movement to privilege the urban, its diversity of cityscape and variegated population. In parallel with this, approaches to the study of geography have arguably come almost full circle since the heyday of regionalism, so that geography is once again concerned with diversity and the uniqueness of places. For the corollary of globalisation is localism : emerging ownership at local level of collective resources and attributes such as language or dialect, shared experiences of culture and history, and work and domestic practices. The driving imperative of localism, less brutal and more constructive than the resurgence of exclusionist nationalism in many parts of Europe, is nonetheless the same : ‘to salvage centred, bounded and coherent identities -placed identities for placeless times’.

The purpose of this study was to find out the description of geography learning in terms of the open personality of the students of MAN I Medan. This type of research is descriptive and quantitative. The sample in this study was the entire subject population, namely all 61 students consisting of two classes. The data collection technique was carried out by distributing a questionnaire (questionnaire) to respondents, which contained questions about the open personality of students and the geography learning experienced so far in the learning process. The descriptive percentage data analysis technique is intended to determine the status of variables, namely, to describe openness personality in geography learning. This study found that learning geography can put students in contact with their geographical environment to better understand modern processes and problems. The strongest openness personality of the MAN I Medan students is curiosity, while the lowest openness personality is smart and thinking. Curiosity is an action that always seeks to know deeper or wider than something learned, seen, and heard. Therefore, it is necessary to provide freedom by explaining the learning encyclopedia to develop and accommodate students' curiosity. This happens due to differences in all student’s abilities and personalities. Personality and ability are dimensions of individual differences in the tendency to exhibit consistent patterns of thinking, feeling, and acting. The nature of the personality focuses on identifying, describing, and measuring individual differences and is also a behavioral and mental mark typical of individuals who refer to differences through feelings, emotions, actions, motivations, and behaviors.Keywords: Geography, Openness Personality, Students

This research was conducted to examine the entrepreneurial tendencies and entrepreneurial personality traits of undergraduate and associate degree students studying in the field of health sciences. The universe of the descriptive study consisted of all undergraduate and associate degree students studying in the field of health sciences at a private university in Ankara, Turkey. It was aimed to reach the whole universe without selecting a sample, while 57% of the students (n=1004) participated in the research. The data of the study were obtained by using the "Socio-demographic Characteristics Form", "Entrepreneurship Tendency Scale" and "Entrepreneurial Personality Characteristics Scale". T-test, ANOVA, Post Hoc Tukey Test, Pearson Correlation Analysis and simple linear regression analysis were employed in the analysis of the data. Students' Entrepreneurial Tendency scale score (3.11±0.32) and Entrepreneurial Personality Scale score (3.24±0.27) were found to be moderate. Significant differences were observed in the entrepreneurial tendency and entrepreneurial personality traits of the students according to age, gender, parental occupation, family economic status, geographical region and education level. It was found that there was a significant positive correlation between the entrepreneurial tendency of the students and their entrepreneurial personality traits, and that the entrepreneurial personality of the students affected the level of entrepreneurial tendency (p<0.05). This follows that an entrepreneurship course should be included in university education and students should be supported to make projects in order to increase entrepreneurship activities, which are important in social development.

The purpose of the article is to study the Geography of the educational field «Natural Science» in the New Ukrainian school. Main material. The new Ukrainian school is a supernova phenomenon in the Ukrainian scientific world, which began its «life» in 2017. It is based on nine components and ten key competencies. According to the current State standard of basic and complete general secondary education, «Geography» is a component of the educational fi eld «Natural Science». Its purpose is to form in pupil’s natural science competence as basic and relevant subject competencies, a mandatory component of the general culture of the individual and development of his creative potential. Geography, in the vision of the New Ukrainian School, is knowledge of the natural fi eld of education. Its purpose is to form the personality of a pupil who knows and understands the basic laws of animate and inanimate nature, has certain skills of its research, shows curiosity, realizes the integrity of natural-scientific picture of the world. The pupil is able to assess the impact of natural sciences, machinery and technology on the sustainable development of society and possible consequences of human activities in nature, responsibly interacts with the natural environment. The geographical component involves formation of basic knowledge on the following issues: geography as a science; the role of geographical education in human life; Land on a map; geographic information systems. Moreover, there are other components as well: Earth as a geosystem, levels of geosystems; geographical consequences of parameters and movements of the Earth; geo-graphical shell; anthroposphere; relationship of processes in the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, biosphere, natural complexes; resource potential of the Earth’s crust, modern aspects of its use; global problems of humanity. Conclusions and further research. A comparison of the geographical component content of the educational fi eld «Natural Science» in accordance with the current State Standard of Basic and Complete General Secondary Education (2011) and the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education adopted in 2020 shows that the new document contains a much narrower content of modern geographical science. In particular, the geographical component does not provide for the formation of pupils’ basic knowledge on important issues of regional physical and social geography. Further research aims to build and justify the optimal model of the pupils’ geographical competence of a modern institution of general secondary education.

Abstract Background: Indonesia, particularly Padang City, West Sumatra, is a prone-area toward natural disasters related to geographical, geological and demographic conditions. Natural disasters give a very significant impact on physical, psychological and social. The psychological impact that most often appears in disaster cases is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). One who is prone to experiencing PTSD is adolescents. To prevent PTSD from occurring, good psychological well-being is needed. The factors that influence psychological well-being is personality. Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the relationship of personality with psychological well-being toward adolescents in disaster-prone areas in padang city Methods: This study is an analytical study with a cross sectional approach. This research was conducted in three disaster-prone districts in Padang City, namely North Padang, South Padang, and Koto Tangah. Data were collected through distributing questionnaires to 156 adolescents who were selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed descriptively using univariate analysis,and bivariate analysis with chi square test. Results: The results of this study found that 85 respondents (54.5%) had low psychological well-being, and 108 respondents (69.2%) had introverted personality types. The results of the bivariate analysis found a relationship between personality toward psychological well-being with 0.010 P value. Conclusion: The results found that there was a relationship between personality toward psychological well-being adolescents in disaster-prone areas in Padang City. It is recommended for adolescents, parents and teachers to pay attention about the personality and support the students so that adolescents have high psychological well-being. The fifth factor in lexical studies of trait adjectives is commonly interpreted as Intellect, whereas the corresponding factor derived from questionnaire studies is typically identified as Openness to Experience. Intellect as a construct is problematic because it erroneously suggests an equivalence of Factor V with intelligence, describes aspects of Factor III (Conscientiousness) as well as of Factor V, and fails to suggest the diverse psychological correlates that Factor V is known to have. By contrast, Openness to Experience is a broader construct that implies both receptivity to many varieties of experience and a fluid and permeable structure of consciousness. Data from analyses of adjectives, established personality questionnaires, and Hartmann's (1991) new Boundary Questionnaire support these interpretations. The construct of Openness can be transported across geographical and cultural boundaries to function as a universal dimension of personality structure.

Attention is paid to the fact that during the practice of practice, students consolidate the knowledge, skills and abilities obtained in lectures, labs and practical classes, master the new methods of knowledge of natural processes, become acquainted with the problems of rational nature management and outline possible ways of their solution.The relevance of field practice in geography is substantiated during which students – future specialists are preparing for independent geographic research and systematic use of local lore materials in their pedagogical activities.It is noted that the full implementation of competence, activity and personality oriented approaches involves active interaction between students and the teacher (interactive) training, the widespread use of competence-oriented tasks, problem-solving materials, research and research training, student projects. The realization of such tasks in the preparation of future teachers of geography is carried out both theoretically and directly during field practice.It has been determined that field practice in geographic disciplines is an integral and extremely important component of the training of geography teachers. Field practice is considered as a direct continuation of classroom activities and is closely related to them.The main tasks of field practice in geography are the consolidation of theoretical knowledge, practical skills and skills acquired during lecture courses, in laboratory and other types of classroom studies, mastering the methods of field-study studies (collection of actual material, its systematization, synthesis and preparation of scientific reports); expansion of theoretical concepts and practical skills as a basis for the study of the following physical-geographical, economic-geographical and methodological disciplines; development of students of geographic thinking, ability to identify and analyze causal relationships between various natural phenomena and processes, components of nature, natural and economic activity.

All processes and phenomena have geographical dimensions which justify the presence of geography science as the main subject of study in Bulgarian school system. As such the role of geography in development of specific competences and patterns of behavior is with undeniable value for students. Against the background of growing public demands for education (and geographic one in particular), it is necessary to develop a new educational paradigm, respectively new educational models that set the student's personality and their needs, interests and responsibilities in the center of geography training process. In this regard, we are taking a step forward by presenting an exemplary educational model of geography education. We construct it on the basis of current interpretations from contemporary geography didactics in Bulgaria and in countries with developed educational systems. We present it through a metaphor having in mind that "severe" theoretical issues may be broken and examined from a different perspective and give us the possibility for further researches of the issue.

The development of moral competence is affected by both internal and external factors and has been researched by many scientists. The present study investigated a) whether the five factors of personality, gender and geographical area would affect ones’ moral competence, b) whether the personality factors Openness to Experience, Conscientiousness and Agreeableness would be correlated positively with moral competence in everyday life, whereas Extraversion and Neuroticism would be correlated negatively with morality, c) if there will be differences in students’ moral competence exhibited in everyday life and that expressed in PE/sports framework and d) whether type of school, factors of personality, as well as moral competence exhibited in sports-framework would all be significant factors for the interpretation of a student’s moral competence. The sample consisted of 331 junior high students (7th and 8th graders) (Mage = 12.47, SD = 0.740), who were given the Moral Competence Test Greek Version (Mouratidou et al. 2003), the Moral Judgment Test in Physical Education(Mouratidou et al. 2008), and the Inventory of Child Individual Differences (Besevegkis & Pavlopoulos 1998). The results indicated that of the five-factor personality model only Conscientiousness can affect moral reasoning ability in everyday life and that the type of school can account for less than 5% of variance when predicting moral competence in high school students.

The subject of individual learner differences (IDs) in English as a Second/Foreign (ESL/EFL) Language teaching and learning is an area which has been much debated and investigated. Since these differences vary according to the geographical or cultural influences of the learners, variations in results and opinions among language instructors are inevitable. However, the indubitable fact is that these differences considerably influence the ESL/EFL language learners’ performances. Individuals are different in personality styles, and these personality styles are influenced by age, cultural background and a whole lot of other factors. These IDs lead to dynamism in language acquisition. The current study thus examined three set of IDs to determine how they affect the learning style preferred by individuals. The individual differences analyzed in this study include: race, exposure to English Language, and personality type (i.e., introvert or extrovert). The study concluded that while race and exposure to English Language affected the preferred learning style significantly as expected English language acquisition, personality style, however, did not have an influence on the preferred learning style for this study sample. IDs are extremely complex, with a large number of variables. As a result, it is critical for researchers as well as English language instructors to identify the source of the problem from a psychological standpoint and consider variables that would aid in Second Language Acquisition (SLA) improvement.

The article analyses the poetics of S.N. Durylin’s unpublished North (Vodlozero) diary. The researcher of this diary has the following tasks: to study the text from a functional point of view, to consider the features of genre form and genre content, to try to recreate the image of the author based on the text of the diary. Functionally, Durylin’s Northern diary is interesting because it is a travel essay about the North, in which the author describes not only historically significant landscapes, but also customs of the northerners. The author reveals the intimate experience of what he saw in the North, while the text is distinguished by the objectification of the described, since the notes were supposed to be handed over to the Archaeological Institute. In this case, for understanding the content of the diary genre, it is very important that this is Durylin’s first diary, created on the basis of daily records in July — August 1917, the diary of the so-called formation period, which caused another of its functions — “spiritual chronograph”. Thus, Durylin’s Vodlozero diary recreates the process of spiritual formation of the writer’s personality, and is also a valuable artistic evidence of the Russian national picture of the world.

The article analyzes the importance of travel literature in the genre of belles non-fiction for shaping the geographical images of countries and nations. In this aspect, the travel prose of the Ukrainian writer, cinematographer, and photographer Sofia Yablonska (1907–1971) was used. Genetic types of sensory verbal geographical images, in particular visual, audio, kinaesthetic (based on smell (odoriferous) and touch (tactile)) are distinguished using the travel novels “Charm of Morocco” (1932), “From the country of rice and opium” (1936), and “Far horizons” (1939) as an example. The artistic syncretism of geographical representation of S. Yablonska is noted (verbal images are harmoniously supplemented with photo and film frames, drawings). The wide spaciousness of the author’s thinking, which extends from specific places to oceanic and celestial infinities, is revealed. The content of S. Yablonska’s travel literature, which is essentially the author’s autobiogeography, is demonstrated by the mega-metaphor of home – the global world is like a native home for her. The natural and anthropocentric parallels of S. Yablonska’s literary texts employed to create geographical images are identified; the author’s accentuation on chronicling the sensations related to the natural features of the lands depicted (depiction of the sun, sea expanses and coasts, mountainous regions of China and volcanoes of Malaysia, etc.) is emphasized. The realism of verbal geographical images is highlighted. They are placed in specific geographical coordinates and characterized by completeness, diversity, grasp of the essential features of the phenomena depicted. The talent of the author’s thinking capable to see the general in each individual case is shown. The combination of descriptive and rational approaches (comparative as well as cause-and-effect methods) for creating cultural images of cities and people is noted. Author’s attention to the negative consequences of the European colonization on the autochthonous culture, the mentality of the enslaved peoples, and the promotion of their liberation in the future is emphasized. The conclusion is drawn about a harmonious blend of the Ukrainian and high-culture European civilization, in the personality of S. Yablonska who enriched the European culture with the ideas of openness and tolerance. The geographical images of exotic countries created by the writer are analyzed in the context of modern humanistic philosophy of travel, the concept of aestheticism, the natural and ethical concept of happiness, and the concept of environmental behaviourism. Purpose Personality disorder is reported to elicit strong emotional responses and negative attitudes in mental health staff (Bodner et al., 2015). The purpose of this paper is to provide an overview of the design and development of a co-produced e-learning training package for personality disorder awareness and an evaluation of its effectiveness. This study was carried out to explore if e-learning is an effective mode of training delivery for raising personality disorder awareness. Design/methodology/approach The e-learning was uniquely developed by subject matter experts working in co-production with people with lived experience. Self-reported measures were completed at three separate intervals to evaluate the effectiveness of the training: at pre-, post- and three-month follow up. Quantitative data were collected via these questionnaires. Findings The results from this evaluation show that e-learning is an effective mode of delivery for raising the awareness of personality disorder among mental health professionals, achieving similar outcomes to those reported following face-to-ace training. Research limitations/implications Attrition at follow-up phase was high which was consistent with other similar studies. The evaluation was led by the lead contributors and in the geographical area of its development. The study was relatively small and the participants were self-selected, therefore findings should be treated with caution. Practical implications E-learning can provide flexible training to compliment and act as an alternative to face-to-face personality disorder training. E-learning may provide an alternative refresher course to knowledge and understanding framework or other face-to-face methods. Co-produced training can be mirrored within an e-learning programme, careful planning to ensure the service user voice is heard and that their lived experience is embraced is required. Originality/value This is the first evaluation of a co-produced e-learning only personality disorder awareness training. It is also the first paper to carry out a review of the published evaluations of personality awareness training in the UK with comparisons explored across the studies.

The latent prevalence of a long-lived and common brain parasite, Toxoplasma gondii , explains a statistically significant portion of the variance in aggregate neuroticism among populations, as well as in the ‘neurotic’ cultural dimensions of sex roles and uncertainty avoidance. Spurious or non-causal correlations between aggregate personality and aspects of climate and culture that influence T. gondii transmission could also drive these patterns. A link between culture and T. gondii hypothetically results from a behavioural manipulation that the parasite uses to increase its transmission to the next host in the life cycle: a cat. While latent toxoplasmosis is usually benign, the parasite's subtle effect on individual personality appears to alter the aggregate personality at the population level. Drivers of the geographical variation in the prevalence of this parasite include the effects of climate on the persistence of infectious stages in soil, the cultural practices of food preparation and cats as pets. Some variation in culture, therefore, may ultimately be related to how climate affects the distribution of T. gondii , though the results only explain a fraction of the variation in two of the four cultural dimensions, suggesting that if T. gondii does influence human culture, it is only one among many factors.

The authors see their task in creating an analytical procedure for historical and geographic images connected with a certain area. The concepts of Altai shaped by scientists and explorers serve as an example. One of the parameters required by such a procedure is "the location of the person in the social structure." This term refers to a large variety of factors related directly to the personality of the author of the source and his position in the society. To illustrate this option, the article analyzes the experience of numerous Altai travelers and scientists, with emphasis on positive reviews of mining and metallurgical area and its administration. It was found out that most characteristics of local orders and Cabinet officials in the end of the XIXth – beginning of the XXth century were negative, which still affects the objectivity of modern scientific research. The authors conclude that it is necessary to take into account different historical and geographical images, analyze the place of their creators in the social structure and not to allow images to replace scientific research.

Aim/Purpose: The present study investigates the relationship between the five-factor model (FFM) of personality traits and sales performance in Pakistan. Background: Personality is a well-researched area in which numerous studies have examined the correlation between personality traits and job performance. In this study, a positive effect between the various dimensions of the five-factor model (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, and open to experience) and sales performance in Pakistan is investigated. Methodology: Pearson’s correlation values as well as analysis methodologies were employed to gather descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and use the analytical hierarchy process (AHP). Cronbach’s alpha value helped determine the internal consistency of the group items. Questionnaires were distributed among 600 salespersons in various cities of Pakistan from April 2015 to January 2016. Subsequently, 510 questionnaires were acquired for the sample. Contribution: The current study contributes to the literature on personality traits and sales performance by applying empirical evidence from sales managers in three industries of Pakistan: pharmaceutical, insurance, and electronics. Findings: The results affirmed a positive effect of the five-factor model on sales performance among various industries in Pakistan. The effect of each sub-factor from the five-factor model was examined autonomously. There is a favorable benefit to sales managers in considering FFM when making hiring decisions. Impact on Society: FFM offers important insights into personality traits that work well within Pakistani sales industry structure. Future Research: A broader rendering of the effects of FFM on sales organizations in other geographical locations around Pakistan should be considered. Additionally, an extended study should be conducted to investigate the effects of FFM on female sales employees involving religious and cultural forces within that country.

This article examines the social structure of the Internet, which is based on the process of communication, and the possibility of identification of personality in virtual space. The analysis of the problem of identification and existence of personality on the Internet is built on the psychological and structural components that are integrated in the Internet. Building the analysis of the Internet as a space for identity is founded on the theoretical basis of the personality as a social construct, where an important role is played by interaction with the surrounding social environment. One of the ways, where this interaction takes place, is the communication process. The main features of interaction within the network are highlighted: possible anonymity and detachment from reality, physical non-representation, global openness and universality. Anonymity and detachment allow one to construct a relatively safe space for the expression of repressed traits and desires. Global openness and universality allow one to build social connections without geographical determinants and to find a response among others, to develop interests and skills. In order to outline the possibility of identification of personality on the Internet, the author establishes the connection of needs, meaning spheres of personality with the actual opportunities, which are revealed due to the components of the Internet. One discovers the possibility to realize latent needs and immerse themselves in a vast environment of formation and translation of meanings. The analysis of the formation of Internet addiction confirms the possibility of changing personality traits on the Internet, which provides data for the analysis of the positive impact of virtual space on the change of personality traits. That is, virtual space has a functional ability to influence the personality’s needs and meaning spheres, which in turn opens up the possibility of identifying a person on the Internet. Using the Internet, a person gives themselves the possibility of active, creative and social realization with involvement in virtual interaction, which continues the real identity of the person. The author highlights the idea, that it is necessary to have personal regulation of Internet activity and pay close attention to the meanings that are translated in the virtual space.

After 1991, the proclaimed Second Republic of Estonia restores individual freedoms, which leads to the problems of individualism, personal borders, transgressive behavior, identity, equality and corporeality in Estonian art after the 1990s. In this article, the author will examine the works of key Estonian contemporary artists who address the problems of identity crisis and “split personality”, which are so characteristic of modern Estonia, where issues of cultural memory, national identity and disciplinary authority are acutely relevant. Marge Monko and Liina Siib analyze the construct of “femininity” and various female cliché images through the sociocultural phenomenon of hysteria. As a result, the author comes to the conclusion that in the context of the identity crisis that reigns in modern Estonian society due to historical and geographical circumstances, artistic representations of a split, “hysterical” personality, embodying established social and cultural patterns that affect individuals, become especially relevant. Through both self-analysis and analysis of the collective unconscious, the artists seek to reveal the reasons for the oppression of “deviant” behavior, as well as the influence of “foreign” culture on Estonia.
