Šiame straipsnyje analizuojama estetinių vertybių reikšmė Moritzo Geigerio plėtotoje fenomenologinėje estetikoje. Atsigręžimas į estetines vertybes leidžia susitelkti ties pačiu meno kūriniu – estetiniu objektu bei jame glūdinčiomis objektyviomis vertėmis. Estetinės vertybės tampa centrine ašimi, į kurią remiasi kiti svarbūs estetinės patirties dalyviai – menininkas ir žiūrovas. Apžvelgiamas kritikuotinas psichologijos bei meno istorijos požiūris į estetiką: psichologija telkia dėmesį į vidinius estetinėje patirtyje dalyvaujančių subjektų išgyvenimus, o meno istorija į estetinį objektą pirmiausia žvelgia per kintančių aplinkybių prizmę. Geigeris pabrėžia estetinių vertybių objektyvumą – nors suvokiamos iš asmeninės perspektyvos, jos nėra priklausomos nei nuo istorinių laikotarpių kaitos, nei nuo subjektyvių menininko ar žiūrovo estetinę patirtį lydinčių išgyvenimų. Straipsnio tikslas – analizuoti Vosyliaus Sezemano įsijautimo sampratą. Panašiai kaip ir Geigeris savo fenomenologinėje estetikoje, Sezamanas laikosi nuomonės, kad estetinio objekto raiška ir suvokimas yra neįmanomi be emocinio įsitraukimo. Įsijautimas negali būti aiškinamas remiantis analogijos teorija arba psichologinio įjautimo samprata. Pastarosios suponuoja radikalią subjekto ir objekto perskyrą bei jų supriešinimą. Sezemanas parodo, kad įsijautimas yra svarbus estetiniam suvokimui kaip tik todėl, kad jis yra paremtas išraiškingų pasaulio formų ir jų dinamikos bei suvokimo judesių koreliacija. Įsijausti reiškia jausti save kartu su kitais, jausti kitus sąryšyje su savimi. Pasaulio išraiškų dinamika tiesiogiai atskleidžia gyvybingumą, kuris įtraukia ir patį kūniškai suvokiantį subjektą su visomis jo juslėmis kaip visuma. Todėl estetiškai jausmus geriau išreiškia ne dalykinis vaizdavimas, bet dinaminės linijų, spalvų ir garsų atmosferos kūrimas. Pasinėrimas į šią gyvybinę dinamiką yra galimas, jei suvokiantis subjektas suskliaudžia savo pragmatinius interesus ir įpročius bei įgyja estetinės kontempliacijos nuostatą. Sezemano estetikoje išplėtota emocinio įsijautimo samprata yra artima Hartmanno ir Geigerio koncepcijoms, bet jas pranoksta pateiktų argumentų gausa. Kita vertus, Sezemano koncepcijoje ryškėjantis tiesiogiai ir interaktyviai patiriamo estetinio išraiškingumo pirmumas leidžia šią filosofinę poziciją lyginti su Merleau-Ponty filosofine estetika.

The article considers the problem of the influence of market principles on the fields of science and higher education on a material provided by the United States’ experience in the commercialization of education, which is reflected in R. Geiger’s book “Knowledge and Money”. Geiger emphasizes that the extension of market principles to the academia leads to paradoxical results: increased funding and the quality of the student audience while reducing the enlightening and cultural functions of the university. The book sequentially explores the main aspects of this paradox, as well as its historical dynamics and the causes of it. The concluding part of the article briefly substantiates the relevance of the research conducted in the book in the Russian context of educational reforms, which include a significant expansion of the commercial sector in universities.

Unlike Christianity, which regards the word “Pharisee” as synonymous with “hypocrite,” “legalist,” and “petty-bourgeois,” Jews have always understood Pharisaism as the correct and trustworthy side of Judaism. Since the eighteenth century, all disputants who participated in the great controversies and schisms within Judaism have claimed to represent the true heirs of the Pharisees. For example, adherents of the strong anti-Hasidic movement initiated by R. Eliyahu of Vilna in the second half of the eighteenth century, who are usually referred to in literature by the negative appellation “opposers” (םירננחמ), referred to themselves by the positive title “Pharisees” (םישורפ). When the Reform movement was founded in Germany in the first half of the nineteenth century, with the goal of reforming the Jewish religion to make it more “modern” and acceptable to its neighbors, the reformers perceived themselves as the true heirs of the Pharisees. In his important study of the Pharisees and Sadducees, Abraham Geiger, one of the founders, ofWissenschaft des Judentumsand an important spokesman for the radical wing of the Reform movement, formulated the view of the flexible open-minded Pharisees, who reformed Judaism to the point of contradicting the laws set out in the Pentateuch, in order to accommodate them to their changing needs. Geiger's opponents easily produced evidence that negated his findings and proved beyond doubt that they, in their conservative strain, were the real heirs of Pharisaism. To his opponents, Geiger was a representative of the detestable Sadducees or their later counterparts, the Karaites.

ABSTRACTTiming of germination and flowering under different environmental conditions was investigated in four coexisting serotinous desert plants: Blepharis grossa (annual herb), Geigeria data, Geigeria ornativa (facultative perennial herbs) and Petalidium setosum (perennial shrub). Germination patterns were similar under varying environmental conditions in the study species, except for P. setosum, which germinated later when conditions were less favourable. B. grossa always germinated early, G. alata and G. ornativa later, which could be explained by differences in their seed dispersal mode. Thus no obvious niche separation in timing of germination was indicated in the study species. Flowering periods varied between seasons rather than between species and no niche separation in flowering times existed between the study plants. This might indicate that either interspecific competition plays a minor role in a community of desert serotinous plants or that niche separation exists in other components of the plants' niche, such as seed dispersal, seedling establishment and/or microhabitat selection.

The microscopic scissurellids are being currently revised; scissurellids is used here for the small Vetigastropoda formerly classified in Scissurelloidea, but which has been shown to be a polyphyletic assemblage (e.g., Geiger 2008, Geiger & Thacker 2005). Geiger (2003) presented an overview, where the new monotypic subfamily, genus, and species were introduced: Depressizoninae with Depressizona exorum Geiger, 2003. Here a second species in the genus is described, which also helps to justify the family-level rank of the group.

In this paper, the aging effect of commercially available Geiger-Muller counters under working conditions is being considered from both theoretical and experimental point of view. In the experimental part lifetime curves for the commercial Geiger-Muller counter chamber are first recorded. After detection of the aging phenomena, the commercial chamber response to an impulse voltage is tested along with recording of the same response of the Geiger-Muller chamber model with conductive particles included. The law of similarity for the gaseous discharge is fulfilled both by the commercial Geiger-Muller chamber and by the chamber model with conductive particles. The results obtained from the U-test indicate that the aging of the Geiger-Muller chamber is mainly caused by the occurrence of a great number of conductive particles hovering inside the chamber. Some suggestions of how to reduce the aging effect due to conductive particles inside the Geiger-Muller chamber are given in the conclusion.

Telah dilakukan penentuan nilai tegangan operasional detektor isian gas Geiger Muller dengan perbedaan jari-jari windownya. Tegangan operasional didapatkan dengan melakukan pencacahan dengan menggunakan tegangan dari 0 Volt sampai 1000 Volt. Detektor Geiger Muller yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan perbedaan jari-jari window 13 mm; 18 mm; dan 20 mm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tegangan operasional untuk detektor dengan jari-jari 13 mm mendapatkan nilai 500V – 620V, detektor dengan jari-jari 18 mm menghasilkan nilai tegangan 700V – 820 V, dan detektor dengan jari-jari 20 mm mendapatkan nilai tegangan 900V – 1000V. Perbedaan hasil tegangan operasional pada detektor Geiger Muller dikarenakan perbedaan jari-jari windownya. Sehingga dinyatakan bahwa semakin besar jari-jari window detektor Geiger Muller, maka semakin besar pula tegangan operasionalnya. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh efek ukuran dari detektor, yaitu luas permukaan window detektor Geiger Muller, semakin luas atau besar diameter detektor Geiger Muller, maka semakin banyak pancaran sumber radiasi yang terdeteksi.

This work considers the manifestation of spontaneous breakdowns of Geiger-Mueller counters. This is an experimental type of work. The reasons leading to the spontaneous breakdowns of Geiger-Mueller counters have been analysed under controlled laboratory conditions. The experiments were carried out under the ?constant voltage?. The tested Geiger-Mueller chambers were commercial chambers of the radial electric field and homogenous electric field. The experimental-statistical methods were used in order to choose the chambers with identical features (with 0.1 % of statistical reliability).The results of experiments showed that the spontaneous breakdown of the Geiger-Mueller counter happens even in the conditions of shielding. They also showed that those breakdowns have cumulative features. The reason for that is a positive feedback between the spontaneous breakdowns. The explanation is confirmed and quantified by the working gas filtering experiments.

Vermeersiekte or “vomiting disease” is an economically important disease of ruminants following ingestion of Geigeria (G.) species in South Africa. Sheep are more susceptible, and poisoning is characterized by stiffness, regurgitation, bloat, paresis, and paralysis. Various sesquiterpene lactones have been implicated as the cause of poisoning. The in vitro cytotoxicity of two sesquiterpene lactones, namely, ivalin (purified from Geigeria aspera) and parthenolide (a commercially available sesquiterpene lactone), were compared using mouse skeletal myoblast (C2C12) and rat embryonic cardiac myocyte (H9c2) cell lines, representing the oesophageal, skeletal and cardiac muscles, which are affected in sheep. For 24, 48, and 72 h, both cell lines were exposed. A colorimetric viability assay, 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), was used to assess cytotoxicity. A concentration-dependent cytotoxic response was observed in both cell lines, however, the C2C12 cells were more sensitive, with the half-maximal effective concentrations (EC50s) ranging between 2.7 and 3.3 µM. In addition, the effect that ivalin and parthenolide has on desmin, an important cytoskeletal intermediate filament in myocytes, was evaluated using the C2C12 myoblasts. Disorganization and aggregation of desmin were caused by both sesquiterpene lactones, which could clarify some of the ultrastructural lesions described in vermeersiekte.

Turkey is situated in the temperate zone as the macro climate zone. The fact that it remains under the influence of different air masses in every season due to its mathematical position causes differences are experienced in terms of the climate types. Besides its mathematical position, its special position also causes this influence grows stronger and the differences become clear much more. The fact that it is surrounded with seas from three sides, there are high mountain ranges in its northern and southern, its altitude increases from the west to the east, the roughness is high due to the tectonic effects and river erosion cause different climate types are dominant. The distribution of the dispersion areas of these climate types can be made by means of various climate classifications. Köppen-Geiger climate classification is a classification which is used at most in the world and which is used in the comparison of the past environmental conditions and the current environmental conditions and in the comparison of the future climate differences with our present day. Even if the dispersion areas of the climate types are shown according to Köppen-Geiger climate classification by different researchers at global scale, these classifications cannot reflect the diversity in Turkey in the exact manner due to the lack of data and scale problem. In this study, the monthly average temperature and monthly average total precipitation data of 249 meteorological station associated to the General Directorate of Meteorology and the global monthly average temperature and monthly average total precipitation data of the model printouts having 30-minute (approximately 1 km) resolution were used for the purpose of revealing the climate types which are dominant in Turkey according to Köppen-Geiger climate classification. Two different Köppen-Geiger climate types distribution maps were created depending on these two different data set. According to Köppen-Geiger climate classification, it was revealed that there are 13 different Köppen-Geiger climate zones in Turkey. According to this classification, the Mediterranean coasts were revealed to be in the "temperate-dry-hot summer climate- Csa" class, Konya Region and the southern of the Southeast Anatolia was revealed to be of the "dry-hot and cold steppe climate - Bsh-k" type and ET, that's tundra areas were designated in the Northeast Anatolia and Ararat Mountain. ÖzetTürkiye, makro iklim bölgesi olarak ılıman kuşakta yer almaktadır. Matematik konumu nedeniyle her mevsimde farklı hava kütlelerinin etkisi altında kalması iklim tipleri bakımından farklılıkların yaşanmasına neden olmaktadır. Matematik konumu yanında özel konumu da bu etkinin kuvvetlenmesine ve farklıkların daha da belirginleşmesine neden olur. Üç tarafının denizlerde çevrili olması, kuzey ve güneyinde yüksek dağ sıralarının bulunması, yükseltisinin batıdan doğuya doğru artması, tektonik etkiler ve akarsu aşındırması nedeniyle engebenin fazla olması kısa mesafelerde farklı iklim tiplerinin hüküm sürmesine neden olmaktadır. Bu iklim tiplerinin yayılış alanlarının dağılışı, çeşitli iklim sınıflandırmaları ile yapılabilmektedir. Köppen-Geiger iklim tasnifi, dünyada en fazla kullanılan, geçmiş ortam şartları ile günümüz ortam şartlarının karşılaştırılmasında ve gelecekteki iklim farklılıklarının günümüzle karşılaştırılmasında kullanılan bir sınıflandırmadır. Küresel ölçekte farklı araştırmacılar tarafından Köppen-Geiger iklim sınıflandırmasına göre iklim tiplerinin yayılış alanları gösterilse bile bu sınıflandırmalar veri yetersizliği ve ölçek problemi nedeniyle Türkiye’deki çeşitliliği tam yansıtamamaktadır. Bu çalışmada Köppen-Geiger iklim sınıflandırmasına göre Türkiye’de hüküm süren ikim tiplerini ortaya koymak amacıyla Meteoroloji Genel Müdürlüğü’ne ait 249 meteoroloji istasyonuna ait aylık ortalama sıcaklık ve aylık ortalama toplam yağış verileri ile 30 dakikalık (yaklaşık 1 km) çözünürlüğe sahip model çıktılarına ait küresel aylık ortalama sıcaklık ve aylık ortalama toplam yağış verileri kullanılmıştır. Bu iki farklı veri setine bağlı iki farklı Köppen-Geiger iklim tipleri dağılışı haritası oluşturulmuştur. Köppen-Geiger iklim sınıflandırmasına göre Türkiye’de 13 farklı Köppen-Geiger iklim bölgesi olduğu ortaya konulmuştur. Bu sınıflandırmaya göre Akdeniz kıyıları “ılıman-kurak-sıcak yaza sahip iklim - Csa” sınıfında çıkarken, Konya Bölümü ve Güneydoğu Anadolu’nun güneyi “kurak-sıcak ve soğuk step iklim- Bsh-k” tipinde, Kuzeydoğu Anadolu’da ve Ağrı Dağı’nda ise ET yani tundra alanlar belirlenmiştir. Daha önceki çalışmalarda düşük çözünürlükte üretilen Türkiye Köppen-Geiger iklim bölgeleri bu çalışmada daha da ayrıntı kazanmıştır.

In this paper, the application of three-component gas mixtures as a working gas in Geiger-Mueller tubes was considered. In addition to the noble and quenching gas, an electronegative gas is used, at the same time, as the third component of gas mixture. This paper is mostly experimental. The experiments are carried out on the enlarged Geiger-Mueller counter tube model. By applying the similarity law for electric discharges in gases on the model and commercial Geiger-Mueller counting tubes, the model was verified. The obtained results showed that a small percentage of SF6 gas, in the working gas, stabilize operating point of Geiger-Mueller counter tubes and reduce dead time. <br><br><font color="red"><b> This article has been corrected. ResumoOs trabalhos para desvendar a estrutura da matéria no começo do século passado fizeram com que vários cientistas elaborassem diferentes experimentos de modo a permitir o entendimento e o arranjo atômico em diferentes metais. Um dos físicos que merece destaque foi Johannes Wilhelm Geiger (1882­1945), também conhecido como Hans Geiger, que desenvolveu uma maneira de estudar a estrutura dos metais utilizando partículas alfa provenientes de compostos de rádio. A técnica consistia em bombardear finas folhas de diferentes metais com partículas alfa e analisar seus desvios. Essa técnica possibilitou que, futuramente, fosse possível a elaboração de outro experimento que constatou, entre outros aspectos, o núcleo atômico. Será́ apresentado, portanto, neste artigo a tradução comentada do artigo On the Scattering of the α–Particles by Matter.Palavras-chave: Partícula alfa; espalhamento de partículas; Hans GeigerAbstractThe work to unravel the structure of matter at the beginning of the last century led several scientists to design different experiments to allow understanding and arrangement atomic metals. One of the prominent physicists was Johannes Wilhelm Geiger (18821945), also known as Hans Geiger, who developed a way to study the structure of metals using alpha particles from radio compounds. The technique consisted of bombarding thin sheets of different metals with alpha particles and analyzing their deviations. This technique made it possible, in the future, to develop another experiment that found, among other aspects, the atomic nucleus. Therefore, it will be presented in this paper how Hans Geiger elaborated his experiments, highlighting their results and difficulties. 4H-SiC single photon avalanche diodes are reported. A separate absorption and multiplication non-reach through device structure was optimized for operation in Geiger mode. An estimated dark current at a gain of 1000 was ranging between 0.4 pA (0.75 nA/cm2) and 20nA (38 A/cm2) on devices with an effective mesa diameter of 260 m. The electron beam induced current technique was used to image defects in the active region of studied devices. Increased reverse bias leakage current and increased Geiger mode dark count probability were correlated with the presence of large number of defects. Single photon detection efficiencies of up to 11% were measured at a wavelength of 266 nm in Geiger mode.
