Uma reformulação nas características lumínicas em algumas obras arquitetônicas em Brasília iniciou-se em 2002 pela parceria Niemeyer (1907-2012) e Gasper (1940-2014). Este estudo investiga as semelhanças entre essa expressão lumínica com as particularidades do cinema expressionista alemão do início século XX. Luz e sombra, contraste e semelhança são dados que vamos observar nos projetos de iluminação de Gasper. Fotografias e entrevistas auxiliaram a compreensão das circunstancias que consolidaram sua obra e suas intenções lumínicas nas obras de Niemeyer.

Delimitation of genera in Blechnaceae Newman (1844: 8), a subcosmopolitan fern family with ca. 250 species, has remained uncertain for a long time. During the last decade, evidence has been accumulating about the polyphyletism within Blechnum Linnaeus (1753: 1077) (e.g. Shepherd et al. 2007, Rothfels et al. 2012, Gabriel y Galán et al. 2013, Perrie et al. 2014). Recent molecular studies (Gasper et al. 2016a) lead to an updated classification attempting to put morphological characters into a natural, phylogenetic relation (Gasper et al. 2016b). Because of these changes, the species most people associate with the genus Blechnum, B. spicant (Linnaeus 1753: 1066) Roth (1794: 56), is now treated under Struthiopteris Scopoli (1754: 25).

Blechnaceae Newman (1844: 8) is a subcosmopolitan family of leptosporangiate ferns (Polypodiopsida), which comprises around 250 species (Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group 2016). Until recently, most of this diversity fell under one, large genus Blechnum Linnaeus (1753: 1077), but after the accumulation of strong evidence of its non-monophyletic status (Shepherd et al. 2007, Gabriel y Galán et al. 2013, Perrie et al. 2014, Gasper et al. 2017), it was split into several entities. Thus, in its current conception, Blechnaceae is formed by 24 genera (Pteridophte Phylogeny Group 2016).

AbstractWe present a systematic method for proving non-terminating basic hypergeometric identities. Assume that k is the summation index. By setting a parameter x to xqn, we may find a recurrence relation of the summation by using the q-Zeilberger algorithm. This method applies to almost all non-terminating basic hypergeometric summation formulae in the work of Gasper and Rahman. Furthermore, by comparing the recursions and the limit values, we may verify many classical transformation formulae, including the Sears–Carlitz transformation, transformations of the very well-poised 8φ7 series, the Rogers–Fine identity and the limiting case of Watson's formula that implies the Rogers–Ramanujan identities.

Dem Dichter und ›Vater der italienischen Sprache‹ begegnet man auch bei Alcide De Gasperi. In den politischen Schriften und Reden des italienischen Staatsmannes wird auf Dante nicht nur in rhetorischem Gestus wiederholt zurückgegriffen (z. B. als Signal eines gemeinsamen kulturellen Hintergrunds); Dante steht vielmehr im Mittelpunkt von De Gasperis politischem Denken, wenn es um die Definition und Konstruktion von Identität, um die Zugehörigkeit zur christlichen Kultur sowie um die Veranschaulichung der Rolle eines Christen in der Welt geht. Producing alloys via in-situ laser alloying approach is becoming very easy and a topical issue in the field of laser additive manufacturing. Several studies have emerged, accompanied by a statement by Gasper et al. (2017), who reported the economic benefits and cost savings that can be related to 3D printing of the additive manufacturing (AM) structure using the said in situ synthesis approach. They studied the laser in situ reactive synthesis of producing titanium aluminide (Ti–Al) from elemental powders using the laser materials deposition (LMD) process. This paper highlights how the functional grade Ti–Al alloys can be produced in a single flight using the 850-R Optomec Laser Engineering Net Shaping (LENS) system. The effects of the Al content in the as-built and heat-treated samples were investigated. The as-built samples were cracked, inhomogeneous, and had visible inter-layer boundaries due to the segregation of the alloying elements and different heat profiles that are typically experienced during 3D printing. These characteristics led to wavy hardness profiles. Heat-treated samples were the least hard when compared to the as-built samples and had a homogenized microstructure. Samples with a duplex microstructure were, in particular, the least hard, indicating that they would have better ductility than others. The outcomes of this study show that a structure with different composition can be fabricated with the LENS system. This would lead to adaptive structures being used, especially in the high temperature applications where a structure would have to withstand low and high temperatures during use.
